Poor product Poor customer service Would not buy again for half the price

Warning: First time reviewer here, but I use the reviews of products exclusively on whether or not to purchase products on amazon.com. I do not want any other users to go through the same poor customer service I did only to gain nothing.

I have purchased a set of Berghoff Scala Ceramic coated frying pans. I used the main 12" pan for about a month. As time progresses the pan started to stick. I contacted the customer service dept. that told me to deep clean the pan with baking soda and water. After it was dry add oil to the pan while slowly reheating it. I did this several times to cure my pan as suggested by the customer service rep. He assured me that it would take some time for this to work. This took place over 4 months after purchasing the set. I then got preoccupied when moving into my renovated kitchen. After dealing with my renovation I found the pan again. It was now 12 months since purchase. I had a new representative that made it sound like the guy I was speaking to previously did a poor job and was let go, which he was very rude. She stated they needed to find my files and reopen the review of my pan. She advised me to send the pan in so the warranty dept. could look at the pan. I had to pay shipping both ways but I figured they would at least get my pan back into good condition. Berghoff never called or emailed that they had my pan even though I sent a letter with the pan. After waiting a month I decided to email and see if they received the pan. The last customer service rep I had was now gone and I had a new one again. She had to find the pan again and pull up the files. After a reply from the newest customer service rep she stated that my pan was not covered under warranty. WHAT?

She explained that due to the color of the bottom of the pan I had overheated the pan and that the warranty was now void. I the dirt she cleaned on the bottom of my pan was on all our pans we had. We have a glass top range that we cool all our meals on. It does get dirty at times. I simply took a nylon scrubber to clean one of the other pans I had just to see how hard it was. I emailed back stating that her suggestion was not the case and that I wanted to speak to a supervisor. Three weeks later still no response. I called and was directed to the same person I was dealing with my emails. She said she brought the pan to her supervisor and stated that she agreed while refusing to allow me to speak to her supervisor.

The facts: Not once did I ever cook with the pan over ½ heat on my range top. I primarily cooked eggs, sausage, warmed up veggies, and cooked some fish. Mind you that I only used the pan 1 month. I hand washed it after every use. At first everything would slide out of the pan. The pan got to the point where I had to scrape it each time after use and then let it sit in soap water. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AFTER 1 MONTH OF USE!

Due to the numerous customer service representatives, poor service, and average pans I would never recommend anyone buy from this company. They did offer me a deal though, 50% off their retail of a new pan. That was almost the same price I could buy it off of amazon.com.

Buyer Beware Stay Away Learn from my mistakes.

Pros: nontoxic ceramic coating for healthy cooking. A true non-stick surface: the food does not burn, but cooks rather evenly. Cleaning also is a breeze, no scrubbing required!

Cons: Not dishwasher safe! However as I mentioned before the food does not stick to the surfaces and comes off easily .

Excellent quality for the money, I highly recommend it!

I enthusiastically bought this set of BergHOFF EarthChef pans that did not use the usual non-stick chemicals.

After three or four uses, the pans were no longer non-stick. I called BergHOFF and went through

reconditioning the pans, sending in photos, etc. to find that the company does not back its product

and would not honor the one year guarantee good luck frying with these pans if you cannot turn the

flame beyond simmer. I love the idea of a healthy non-stick pan, but this is not it.

Honest reviews on BergHOFF Earthchef Acadian 10-Piece Cookware Set

We have had these over a year and the saucepans are still nearly flawless. Nice knowing we are getting no chemicals in our food. Unfortunately our daughter used cooking spray on the skillet and it was worthless after that. We have other ceramic skillets that are so so due to staining. Highly recommend ceramic saucepans.

I'm very happy with the quality of these, I can't comment on durability as I just got them but I'll be sure to update the review if anything changes. Everything looks very solid and the design (lid and handles) are VERY similar to all clad and high quality.

This cocotte is the perfect alternative to cast iron cocottes.

It is made of a new kind of ceramics that is not only more resistant than porcelaine and standard ceramics, but it can moreover go into the micro-wave and it also works on induction ! I bought it for my mother who can no longer hold her heavy Le Creuset cocotte, and she absolutely loves it. It also goes to the washing machine.

This is not my first Le Creuset pot (by a large margin), but it is my first in the new Signature series. Of course it is beautiful, durable, well made, and all that. But the most important thing is how wonderfully these French pots work. I have made the same dishes in stainless steel and other materials, and they are just not at all the same as when I use Le Creuset enamelled cast iron.

The very slightly different look is lovely and the new knobs are much nicer, so kudos for that LC.

This 9qt is a great size. I didn't have anything between my 6.75qt and my 13.25qt so I just had to bite the bullet and get this one. No more using stainless steel stock pots (not that there is anything wrong with stainless steel for boiling potatoes or pasta) when I need an 8-9qt size for braising or oven-simmering!

I think that Le Creuset pots are the best out there and their warranty can't be beat.

This cookware is expensive but it will outlast you and your grandchildren. Porcelain coated cast iron gives you the best of both worlds. It's practically non-stick and heats very evenly while using less energy.

You won't be disappointed. :-)

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Signature Enameled Cast-Iron 9-Quart Round French Oven

I have been buying Le Creuset pieces for my wife over the years and we already had the 2.5 quart dutch oven. She had requested a larger dutch oven and was stuck with whether to buy the 7 quart or the 9 quart. I ended up buying the 9 and I am really glad I did. It was a significant jump from 2.5 qt but not as huge as the available 13 qt. Perfect size for those larger dishes. Highly recommended.

I wanted a stock pot that wasn't stainless steel. All stainless steel pots burn the food onto the bottom of pot. Try cooking apples for applesauce or a large batch of tomatoes for spaghetti sauce. They all stick to the bottom of stainless steel an burn fast, resulting in black pieces in the sauce. I didn't have this problem with aluminum stock pot.

I HAVE A CERAMIC TOP STOVE & MY PANS DO NOT JUMP ALL OVER THE STOVE. COOKS VERY WELL!!!!HANDLES DO NOT GET HOT. WORTH THE MONEY. CLEANS UP GREAT!!!!

I had recently purchased a nuwave induction cooktop. I had decided not to purchase the cookware that came with it because the cost and the shipping was extreme. You cant buy just any cookware to work with an induction cooktop it has to be made of certain material or it will not work. I had been looking at induction cookware for about a month and the prices were very high every where I looked. I decided to do a search on Amazon and found this cookware. I LOVE IT, it works perfectly with the induction cooktop and my ceramic stovetop. This is the best cookware I have ever owned, it is heavy and made beautifully. I hang them on a pot rack and the lids fit nicely over the handles for hanging. The price in unbelievable for such a nice set that is induction capable and the shipping was fast through FedEx. I would definitely recommend this product for use on any cooktop and anyone out there with a nuwave that doesn't want to pay the crazy amount of money for the cookware that comes with it, DONT, this cookware works perfect and is by far cheaper and nicer.

I have been proud to cook with this set, easy cleaning and even heat, prompt shipping this is a very strong set of cook ware beware of one thing when you open it up you must stare at the quality it took me two days before I got it dirty for the first time and it still shines awesome.

Honest reviews on Cooks Standard NC-00203 Classic Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware

I think supreme quality is an understatement on this set. Superb and flawless is the model I would use to describe. This is beyond top quality. It has heft. It is solid with feel. It will last beyond time. And it looks great. Having carefully read the reviews for this line by Cooks, I saw nothing regarding things sticking as in some of there other sets. Why I do not know, but if you start with low heat, oil the pan and increase heat not beyond medium you should not have the sticky bad thing going down. I don't and so why should you unless you drool a lot in your shoe, and wear foot ball helmets and need full time care as you do not get the concept of starting low. If that is the case, maybe you should chase cars and not cook. Now have cooked in some of the best Casinos out West, saw many a kitchen, hold a degree from Johnson and Wells. And I will say this: This is the same quality of item I had used in industrial kitchens for years but just more glossy for the Betty Crockery population at large in the home. I first cleaned my set with low power dish soap, vinegar and lots of it. You know, get the grit away. I am truly floored by the quality. Over the top if you will. I looked at Magma, but it had faults, I looked at Cuisine heart, and seems the reviews all say poor quality control and issues. I looked at other high priced objects and reviews said issues in red, cutting cost, trading on name, business as usual. And so I take a chance upon this gem. Oh boy, does it rock and shine. And I paid 108. U.S. inflated clown bucks and did I ever get value beyond reason. I seldom submit reviews but this set is way the living end. Just get it, and don't look back. I had to write as I feel so strongly about this particular set. And easy to clean. And if you do burn it? Always a first time. Well, put the pan on the stove with a cup of water in it, clear vinegar, some salt, then simmer, add some baking soda (it will bubble) up and simmer for 10 minutes or less. Then pour off the liquid, use a non abrasive sponge and scrub with more baking soda and vinegar, then rinse and dry well. To season, wipe a coat of vegetable oil in the pan put on low medium heat until the pan starts to smoke, then take off the pan and wipe well and let cool. This works on old pans also. Good luck and happy trails!

I love this pan! I spray a little oil on both sides before I use, and it doesn't stick. Would have given 5 stars if the pan handles were rubberized so you don't have to use bulky hot pads. Handles do get quite hot. Definitely do recommend.

I have made frittatas in the oven and was not highly impressed. I then saw this frittata pan on amazon and purchased it. I made a frittata and oh my goodness what a difference. The frittata raised really well, was not dry around the edges, and best of all it did not fall. Beautiful and delicious.

Best Deals for Nordic Ware Italian Frittata and Omelette Pan

Bought this heavy-duty omelette pan on AMZN: it's terrific! Used medium heat (electric glass top stove) and light spray of canola oil to produce a wonderfully puffy omelette. No sticking, no burning! This made-in-USA pan is so much better than the cheaper light-weight Chinese import that I previously bought (also from AMZN).

Honest reviews on Nordic Ware Italian Frittata and Omelette Pan

This is one of the products I bought not because I needed them but because I thought I could use them. Often this behavior turns out to be a waste of money not this time!

Making omelette is now so much easier. You just fill beaten eggs in both of the compartments (2-5 eggs total) and put some stuffing on top of one side (make it on the bottom side!). Then you quickly close the lid as soon as the egg starts getting white on the surface and after a few minutes you have a nice omelette.

The quality is great nothing loose, the mechanism closes very tight and the handles are crafted very smooth. Cleaning is easy too because it is well coated. Just take care to not use any metal in it. I find myself not using any tools for the whole process because you can just flip the product out on a plate once it's cooked.

The only issue (and other reviewers mentioned it too) why I gave just 4 stars is that the handle (especially the small one) gets super hot. I'm not very sensitive but I cannot touch (open/close) it after a few minutes. I always need gloves/a towel to operate it.

These covers are attractive, arrived quickly, and do a fine job of keeping crumbs and scraps out of the burners that I'm not using, which is what I was aiming for. (I'm not sure why a previous reviewer thought they would be useful to cover hot burners -seems to me that covering a hot burner with a metal cover is just going to heat up the cover.) I'd suggest, however, that anyone thinking of buying these or other burner covers be more sensible than I was and measure your burners before ordering. The large covers are 9.75 inches in diameter and the small covers are 8 inches; sadly, the small covers proved to be too small for my stove. I'm still very pleased with the large ones, though.

FIVE MONTHS LATER: The black coating started peeling off a couple months in and it's just getting worse. They look pretty awful. I'm keeping them until I can find better ones because they still keep crumbs and scraps out of the burners I'm not using, but I'd recommend you save your money and buy something else to start with.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

They're thinner than others I've seen, but they're pretty. One came scratched up a touch. There's a couple places on it where white is showing. I can't tell if it's the black scratched off or if it's white transferred from something else. It's even with the black, not like a scratch. Either way, I took a black Sharpie and colored those little places in. It isn't noticeable unless you really look for it. If anyone is paying that close attention to my burner covers, they have bigger issues.

These are no big deal, just your typical thin metal burner covers but with a little extra zip that makes them pretty.

For one person this is a great item. French fries come out nice and crispy like they were deep fried but without the grease!

I put fries or tater tots on the tray and give them a quick spray with cooking spray, season them then just cook in the toaster oven. Pizza reheated came out great also and so did frozen chicken patties.

If there are two people look into getting the larger size for a stove oven, this tray cooks for one reheating pizza or cooking fries or tater tots.

Well worth the small amount it costs.

This is a good option to have for heating/reheating anything you want to have a bit of air flow around. Pizza, bread, biscuits and so on all seem to do well with it. It's gone through the dishwasher for us with no problems.

Best Deals for Nordic Ware Toaster Oven Pizza/Crisping Sheet

I love the crisping pan. I've only washed it by hand, even though it says it's dishwasher safe. I just worry about rusting on any metal pan. It has worked great for pizza and breads that I want toasted.

Honest reviews on Nordic Ware Toaster Oven Pizza/Crisping Sheet

Works great for small pizzas in my Cuisinart convection oven. It dose what it says; browns the bottom while cooking the top. Mini pizzas come out perfect.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Nordic Ware Toaster Oven Pizza/Crisping Sheet

Works great for french fries, taquitos, pizza rolls, french bread pizza. It's also the best way to quickly reheat a slice of thin-crust pizza and have it come out crisp. Sure, the size is small but people trying to be ambitious with toaster ovens are kidding themselves. My only disappointment is that the non-stickiness of the non-stick surface seems to fade (even without being scratched). I think it may have to do with being used a lot at higher temperatures, but that's to be expected with the kinds of foods you would crisp on this.

It was just what I needed for my larger skillets. Glass in top was a bonus to view what ever was cooking.

Yes it is functionally universal size about 8 1/2 to 12 in in coverage. Interior ridges seat it nicely at the various diameters. See through window. Non Stick cleanup! the handle keeps you Safely away from steam or spatter...very important to me because I have somewhat clumsy arthritic hands.

Best Deals for Mexican Origins Universal Pan

I bought this cover for a 14" skillet. The skillet came and I measured them up and it didn't fit. When I purchased this cover they said that it would fit a 14" pan. The cover fell right through the pan. However, it is great for any pan smaller than 14".

Honest reviews on Mexican Origins Universal Pan

I am very disappointed that the description provided on Amazon that this lid fits pans up to 14-inch diameter does not accurately match the sleeve on the product itself, which clearly states that it fits only up to a 13.5-inch diameter pan. I specifically bought it based on Amazon's online description, to go along with a new 14-inch skillet I purchased as a Christmas gift for my husband. Love the pan, will be returning the lid. Please fix the description!

This pan is made in China. I was dissapointed to see that as I had purchased this thinking it was made in the USA. Turns out there aer a couple of companies using the regal name. So, be careful. It is a very nice pan though. An especially good value. Comapre to the Williams Sonoma Al Clad stuff at over twice the price. Good and heavy. The first thing I noticed was that I could keep a simmer at a much lower heat setting. That tells me the heat is being distributed effectively. Cleans up well. Some pans this capacity have the extra handle. That would be a nice addition when it is full. It gets heavy. Makes it harder to fit in the dishwasher though.

This pot came with my set and I really had my doubts as to how it would work out. Well, it is fanatastic. Cooking spaghetti, lasagna, crabs legs a pure pleasure, everything fits perfectly. I make my soups in it and no matter what I cook NOTHING sticks. I recently made a sweet and sour brisket surrounded by stuffed cabbage and everything came out perfectly. To my surprise I didn't have to use 2 pots to cook everything. I truly don't know why people are having trouble but I've found that you have to use a much lower heat setting as the pot conducts the heat quickly.

I ordered a spaghetti pot like this from QVC in early January. Thinking ahead (for once) to get a nice Valentine's gift for my wife. I contacted QVC and they said there was a problem with my credit card and they cancelled the order without contacting me. At that time it was too late to order one somewhere else, so our Valentine Day was ruined. If quality tools are important to you, this is the fry basket for you. In case you may want to know what size it really is, it's:

Diameter: 9.75" Dimensions: 19" x 9.75" wide x 4" tall.

No, you don't have to use it in an allclad pan. I'm using it in a dutch oven and it fits perfectly. It also has that hook on the handle side so you can hang it over the oil to drain. And it's STURDY.

This is 60 bucks at All Clad sites and this is a heck of a deal.

Now to enjoy some Fronch Fries.

Purchased the All-Clad after learning about another fry basket and researching fry baskets. I chose the All-Clad because it's stainless steel (vs chrome plated) and, as in all All-Clad products, it has a life-time warranty. It has a large capacity and the handle is NOT riveted to the basket, but it does seem to be securely attached. I like that the base has "feet" that elevate your contents maybe 1/4" above the bottom of the pan to keep the contents out of any residue left from multiple batches of frying. You DO need to buy a deep pan to use it in. I tried it in my Tramontina dutch oven and it's not a good fit. I broke down and got the All-Clad 6 quart deep saute pan (before the prices jumped astronomically) and it's a perfect fit. The fry basket has a hook on the bottom that allows you to hang the basket on the edge of the pan to drain very nice. As the weather gets warmer, I plan to use it outside on the grill burner for frying to keep the grease out of the kitchen. For now, we're using it to contain the chicken and vegetables when we make stock. It's so much easier than straining it out.

Best Deals for All-Clad 6-Quart Fry Basket

This thing is super. It turns the 6 qt stockpot or tall sauté pot into a deep fryer, or extracts the carcass and/or veggies out of stock liquid without having to strain off the liquid into another container.

I love to make turkey or chicken soup with the carcass after most of the meat has been eaten, but there's usually some meat sticking to the bones that needs to be hand pulled after boiling. By using this basket with my tall 6 qt sauté pan, I can just lift it up with all the bones and vegetables inside and hang it on the edge of the pan via the basket's hook to let everything drain and cool. When the ingredients are cool enough to handle I can remove the remaining meat from the bones and throw out the rest. If I'm making a soup, I can add that meat right back to the stock along with some rice or noodles and chopped parsley and it's wonderful. Of course, I may want to do other things with the stock, but the fact remains that with this basket, getting the solids out of the liquid is a piece of cake.

If you're into deep-frying, of course, the basket is perfect for that, but I use it far more often for making stock or blanching something. This basket is worth its weight in gold. Highly recommended.

Honest reviews on All-Clad 6-Quart Fry Basket

well built for the all clad 6qt deep sauté pot....

pro: good value and perfect size for deep frying in a 6 qt pot

con: the handle is not up to all clad standards its very light weight ... these Re made in china nd for $60 they can afford to put a real all clad handle on it

update

also the rim clip is too high, all clad should redesigned to 1) use a real all clad handles ,,,and 2) place the rim clip at the very bottom so that when you raise the basket out of the oil you can actually rest it on the pot without the food at its bottom still immersed into the oil...

that said its otherwise well built with stainless steel mesh and resting feet that keeps it from touching the bottom of the pot

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for All-Clad 6-Quart Fry Basket

I already own the 4-quart version of this fry basket which is now discontinued and wanted to add this 6-quart version before the same thing possibly happened to it. Although it is Made in China, other reviewers have correctly pointed out that this is a very decent quality fry basket that serves its intended purpose well.

Whereas my 4-quart basket that was purchased from a retail store came in an All-Clad box, however, this 6-quart version purchased here from Capital Cookware arrived with no such product packaging. Instead, it was delivered in a shipping box, very securely packed with newspapers, and enclosed in a thick protective bag. While I have to presume that this was done to simply facilitate shipping, it would also be nice to have been provided with the original box since this product is being purchased as new. Also, this practice does raise some suspicion about its authenticity, since I have seen it reported elsewhere that products sold without their packaging could potentially be counterfeit. A side-by-side comparison of this 6-quart basket to my 4-quart basket has convinced me that this 6-quart basket is indeed an original. Just don't expect original packaging from this seller.

This is our Third Scanpan, and we love them. Quite simply the best non-stick cookware we have found.

Let me give a quick background After we collected All-Clad for several years, it was evident that the non-stick All-Clad was not up to the task. It began to get old and clean-up became tiresome and difficult as the All-Clad non-stick coating wore down and honestly stopped working. We also own some of the All-Clad stainless that is "supposed" to be non-stick based on heating it first, but I find that to be untrue. For pots and other cookware we still like it.

Scanpan has become our favorite cookware over the last 3 years, and the first one purchased is as clean and effective as this brand-new one. No visible wear or tear at all, and a breeze to clean up. We started with the small 8 inch, then the 10 inch, and now the 12 inch to round out our collection and replace our last All-Clad non-stick. It is all very durable and fast to heat up, giving perfect even heating across the pan. All of our pans are the CTX line, which we found to be a bit more heavy duty and well built than the cheaper linethicker with a better handle. I can't speak to how the cheaper line may work. My only small complaint is only during clean-up the small steel buttons where the handle is attached is a bit harder to clean, and by saying this you know we are spoiled because the rest of the pan is clean with a wipe of a paper towel or cloth, then you have to scrub the buttons for a few seconds to remove food from them. No biggie. If only they were made from the same material!

I can't say enough about these they are all we use now. Highly recommended and well worth the extra money!

I combined raw onions and a sweet Italian sausage in this skillet on low heat. After the onions were cooked I removed them and turned up the heat to medium high to brown the sausage. When that was done I tried to clean it. The onion remnants refused to be cleaned off. Something about them had bonded tightly to the surface. I contacted Scanpan and they advised adding a teaspoon of baking soda to two cups of water, bring to boil, let stand for 30 mins and then scrub. I had to repeat this EIGHT times before the surface was clean. Now the surface is nothing like as slippery as it was originally, and even fish sticks to it. It remains easy to clean, but it's still a disappointment.

UPDATE 3/13: Yeah, these are bad. I babied my second Scanpan and it still failed in less than a year. If you're only cooking once a week this will last 5 years. But if you cook daily, it'll be useless within a year.

FWIW I was cooking breakfast w/ various kinds of sausages every morning and had identical problems that other users mention (stickiness / bonding).

In regards to the warranty, there's a dozen use cases that negate it and most of them resemble the wear I experienced. To me, it's not worth a debate over whether the warranty is valid or not. I need a new pan and I now know for sure a replacement won't last for me.

PREVIOUS 10/12:

I'm on my second Scanpan CTX and it's following a well trod pattern.

The non-stick is great for ~4 months of once a day use and then it slowly start sticking. After about a year you can see the coating fading and flaking in well-used areas.

For my second pan I followed all of the rules: no metal, hand-wash, and (new rule) no high heat. I rarely use metal (a fork for bacon) but this time not even once. I also stopped doing high heat to quickly heat up the pan I settled for a longer, medium heat.

Nevertheless my second pan's coating is failing in the same pattern as the first. Best guess: I think I may have been preheating the pan for too long. I've been using a mesh screen instead of the lid, so it's not holding heat very well.

I'm not sure if it's me or the product, so I'm still game. I like the size of the pan and when it doesn't stick it's awesome.

I'm going to order pan #3 soon. New tactic: I bought a lid.

More soon.

Honest reviews on Scanpan CTX Fry Pan

I have been using the 8" and 10.25" pans for almost a year with an induction cooktop. I am considering the 12-3/4" one, too. They do occasionally go on sale here at Amazon for less than the usual prices. I wish they made a shallow 2-1/2 quart, 8" diameter saute pan with lid.

Other reviewers have mentioned what makes them so great, and I agree. I think there is something about the ceramic/titanium material embedded just below the surface that makes it cook so much like stainless steel, but without sticking, of course. I rarely use SS skillets for browning anymore, unless I want to make a sauce from the "fond" that builds up in the pan.

The one thing that would make them PERFECT would be a flared pouring rim. This may be difficult to implement due to the materials used. I don't know, but it would be great to have. I find that when I pour from these pans, I have to be ready with a slightly wet and soapy dishcloth to quickly wipe the side/bottom, as liquid WILL run down the sides and then the bottom. If I don't wipe immediately, and the pan is really hot, the liquid will begin to harden/set.

This effect would be even more so with a gas or hot radiating electric cooktop if the pan is returned to the burner without wiping, and cooking continues. Then you will then have to later exert some unnecessary "elbow grease" to clean.

Bar Keeper's Friend works great, btw.

I own a set of high-quality stainless steel cookware and I'm very happy with it, but there are times when a non-stick pan is what's needed for the task at hand, and the Scanpan CTX fills the bill perfectly: "Recycled aluminum core with Ceramic Titanium PFOA-Free Non-stick interior surface and 18/10 Stainless Steel exterior."

A lot of "safe" non-stick pans have hit the market recently, and most of them have been accompanied by a plethora of complaints, including losing their non-stick properties after only a few months, and some after just a few uses. This is not the case with the Scanpan. I own both the 10 1/4 inch pan and the 8 inch pan. The 8 inch pan is my go-to pan for omelets and/or scrambled eggs. Nothing sticks to these pans, the food slides out without a hitch each and every time, and the pans look just as good as the day I bought them, no signs of wear and tear.

If you're looking for a durable, high-quality, non-stick pan you won't be disappointed with the Scanpan CTX.

I received this set yesterday and it looks good and feels heavy enough. After using 3 pots today I'm starting with a 5-star, subject to revision if I run into problems. Overall the quality seems very good for the price I've spent days comparing brands and reading tons of reviews before settling on an Innova product. I just can't afford All Clad or West Bend. Luckily my glass lids with vents from my old QVC 'Cooks Essentials' nonstick set fit all the pieces, so I'll use them instead of the stainless lids. I'm getting rid of all nonstick cookware in my kitchen for health reasons. First test was a big pot of chicken noodle soup. You are supposed to avoid high heat, but you can't boil noodles on medium haha So once they came to a boil I turned it to medium, and added the chicken and cream soup. Took a little longer on medium but turned out fine. Plain washing left a dark discolored haze in the inside, with visible marks from the plastic utensil used to stir it. But a good scrubbing with Orange-Glo cleaner took away the haze and the marks (I'm going to look for something called barkeepers friend). The bottom of the pot stained with strange black marks matching each natural gas jet from the burner, that won't clean off. That won't bother me as long as it doesn't affect the heat distribution. Next I boiled eggs, the large saucepan didn't stain but the bottom had black marks like the big pot, only lighter. I've seen some complaints on stainless getting stains from boiling eggs, but it didn't happen on this one. Next I fried a pan of chicken patties in the big skillet using canola oil on medium heat. They came out absolutely perfect, best results ever from any pan I've ever owned. Nothing stuck, cleaned up sparkling new, and the bottom didn't get any black marks from the same burner. So it must be a difference in the metal?? The handle was a little loose on the large saucepan so I tightened it, might loosen again. Anyway the only issue to mention is how the metal darkened on the bottom of 2 pans out of the set but not the 3rd. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again based on my budget.
