High quality construction and parts. They have served their purpose well. The only possible issue so far is that they seem to create a bit more condensation than other chafing dishes I have used in the past.

This is the third item I have ordered by Touch of Europe. I previously ordered 2 larger warmers in this style and they

were amazing......this meets the same expectations. It is beautiful and very will made. I recommend these for dinner parties and/or

buffets (only warning: let them rest about 10 minutes after use to cool and wax to set). My friends have all asked about them

and I will be ordering them when I need a gift. Love, love, love them. Touch of Europe delivers quickly and with no problem.

They even ask for the buyer opinion......care about the customer. Great duo with Amazon for customer care.

Calphalon One Nonstick 3-Quart Round Brasier
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

I really don't want to get into a lot of details but let me tell you, there is NO MATCH for the Calphalon ONE Nonstick line. There are soooo many calphalon lines like 'commercial', 'simply calphalon', 'classic', 'contemporary', 'cooking with calphalon', 'kitchen essentials from calphalon' etc. But the build quality of the Calphalon ONE line is like of Lexus when compared to even the top-of-the-line craps from lincoln/cadillacs: the build quality/finishing is ONE-OF-A-KIND in the cookware industry. You've seen many many hard anodized cookware surfaces, right? This one is Anodized, the surface is smooth (no visible lines).

Use: Heats up fast, even, handle stays cool and holds heat very well. The lid is VERY WELL MADE. Clean up is crazy easy.

If you are in the market for quality cookware, please don't kid yourself. Get the best you can get. One thing is that you won't find absolutely ANY SALE on these prices. Amazon's sale price (as well as all other vendors) IS THE MSRP by Calphalon (check their website). But Amazon usually has coupons which will bring the price down. Every penny you will spend on this is worth it.

If you own anything else besides Calphalon ONE and you think you have GREAT cookware, you are kidding yourself or your standards of perfection is low.

If you do get cookware from this line, you MUST use a pot rack to hang these. Stacking on top of each other should be avoided at all times.

Range Kleen 5056 Embossed Burner Kover, Black, Set of 4

These covers are attractive, arrived quickly, and do a fine job of keeping crumbs and scraps out of the burners that I'm not using, which is what I was aiming for. (I'm not sure why a previous reviewer thought they would be useful to cover hot burners -seems to me that covering a hot burner with a metal cover is just going to heat up the cover.) I'd suggest, however, that anyone thinking of buying these or other burner covers be more sensible than I was and measure your burners before ordering. The large covers are 9.75 inches in diameter and the small covers are 8 inches; sadly, the small covers proved to be too small for my stove. I'm still very pleased with the large ones, though.

FIVE MONTHS LATER: The black coating started peeling off a couple months in and it's just getting worse. They look pretty awful. I'm keeping them until I can find better ones because they still keep crumbs and scraps out of the burners I'm not using, but I'd recommend you save your money and buy something else to start with.

They're thinner than others I've seen, but they're pretty. One came scratched up a touch. There's a couple places on it where white is showing. I can't tell if it's the black scratched off or if it's white transferred from something else. It's even with the black, not like a scratch. Either way, I took a black Sharpie and colored those little places in. It isn't noticeable unless you really look for it. If anyone is paying that close attention to my burner covers, they have bigger issues.

These are no big deal, just your typical thin metal burner covers but with a little extra zip that makes them pretty.

I got this as a Christmas gift, and I christened it right away with a cup of tea! It whistles wonderfully, and it is absolutely beautiful. It heated very quickly and silently, with none of the popping or clicky noises that cheap kettles make. I wish I knew where Berghoff's products are manufactured, because I'm hoping it lives up to the company name. For now, it is very nice, and appears to be well made. The only tiny problem is that the removable whistle can be a bit awkward to get in, but you get used to it. I feel that this is worth the money, and I hope I can keep it in the family for a long while.

EDIT: On May 15th, not even 5 months after recieving this kettle, the handle on the lid snapped off. I'm not sure if this is just one faulty piece or if they are all badly welded, but I am quite upset as I really did love this kettle. Trying to contact the company is extremely difficult, and I don't know if I'm going to be able to get a new one.

EDIT #2: Tried very hard to contact the company, but none of their phone numbers work! I called Amazon customer service, and even though the product is 4 months past its return date, they sent me a new one and a return label because it qualifies as defective merchandise. Thank you so much, Amazon!

EDIT #3: The replacement kettle broke in the exact same way. That little handle on top is does not even have enough surface area to hold a good weld, and it just snaps right off with a little bit of force; how are you supposed to get the kettle open? It's ridiculous. Called Amazon support, but since it's almost a year past the return date, they could not do much. Got a little help for the purchase of a new one, but I'm very sorely disappointed in Berghoff. Will not be buying anything from their company in the future.

This is a beautiful tea kettle, like a work of art on your stove. I had purchased one of these several years ago (I think from Costco) and had a love/hate relationship with it. My biggest complaint was that the handle gets very hot, hot enough to where you really should use a pot holder to pick it up. I also didn't like that you needed two hands--one to remove the whistler before pouring. And the whistler was a pain sometimes to put on the spout because if it isn't aligned just right, it doesn't snap in. The plus about this kettle (still talking about the first one I owned) was the high handle. We use purified water for our hot beverages and fill up the tea kettle from a large jug with a spout. It fit easily under the spout and I never even thought about it. So after several years, I saw another tea kettle at Costco that had a silicone-coated handle and a lever for lifting up the whistle. I'm not sure if it is this very one --> Primula Soft Grip Stainless Steel 3 Liter Tea Kettle with Silicone Handle

Review of Update International AFX-07 Eclipse Coated Aluminum Fry Pan, 7-Inch

Update International AFX-07 Eclipse Coated Aluminum Fry Pan, 7-Inch
Customer Ratings: 4 stars
Buy Now
I bought 3 skillets at the same time, the 7" Cuisinart 622-18, 9" Cuisinart 622-20, and the 7" International AFX-07 Eclipse.

All three performed exactly as advertised. One can cook without Pam or Butter, the food slides out like it has been cooked on glass, and a hot water rinse cleans the pan. Any charred bits or oil (from bacon for example) vanishes.Big improvement over the original teflon skillets from years ago. In fairness, all had strict instructions about maintaining the skillets. No dishwasher, so metal implements, just hand wash and use teflon utensils. Good advice. I keep a small sponge in a cup with some liquid soap and wash out the inside, rinse and dry: far less work than scrubbing with a Brillo Pad (In fairness to Brillo, it's pad is still the weapon of choice for cleaning stubborn pans). Why hand wash? You won't scratch the finish. Why no dishwasher? dishwasher detergent works and works well because it is powerful and will etch the surface.

One caveat: the handle on the Eclipse gets hot, the Cuisinart skillets do not. About $4.50 difference in the price. That's about the only difference, so it's your call. I like the cool temperature of the French steel crepe and omelet skillets I use.

Cajun Cookware Pots 4-quart Seasoned Cast Iron Oval Casserole Pot - Gl10499as

The product enables me to bake an oval loaf using the NYTimes technique called "No-Knead Bread." The loaf emerges as a beautifully browned artisan loaf with a lovely crisp crust and a very lacy crumb.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I too bought this cast iron pot for baking no knead bread in. I have round cast iron in 5.5 qts and clay bakers but after baking the no knead bread for over 3 yrs, decided to get an oval, 4 qt baker. This pot seemed the right depth I was looking for and preseasoned. As I'm writing this review, I have bread baking in it now.

The pot came last night and took forever to get here via Fedex, but it did come from LA to NJ. I did wash it with water and rubbed it down with oil before putting the cold pot on the stove to gradually heat up. I have many cast iron pieces and love cast iron. I'm giving it 3.5 to 4 stars as the cast iron is very rough and the lid has an overhang in one area which means the lid was not made uniform. This is minor as the lid still fits, but to me is a flaw in production. There also could have been a deeper ridge so the lid fits more secure. Most of my cast iron is from Lodge but Cajun has some different pieces, not saying I won't buy from them again. I didn't want to return this because of a slight flaw in the lid.

Revised Review 7/28/13

I have owned this unit since the end of April 2013. It has been used 8 or 10 times at most, a few hours total. This morning I noticed that the blue flashing light was off. It turns out part of the display no longer works. Only part of the numbers display for power settings. I would not recommend anyone buy the unit, a 4 month old unit that has barely been used, never banged, hit, dropped, or anything should not fail.

Original Review May 2013

First off, the unit I received is 1400 watts, not 1500 watts (1400 watts clearly stated all over the box and manual, I assume this is all Amazon's error) & display is in deg. F not C as shown. I assume I received the American version (I live is US) verses the European pictured. Contrary to what you might think from the description, and one reviewer's comments, you can not select any temperature thsi was something I wanted. The temperature settings are fixed to: 160, 180, 210, 250, 290,320, 360, 390, 430 deg F. Turn as slow as you want, temperature only changes at the clicks of the wheel. Power leves 1 thru 10. As to what wattage each corresponds to is anyone's guess, the manual is silient on the subject. I have purchased both a Max Burton 6200 Deluxe 1800-Watt Induction Cooktop and this one. I would recommend the Max Burton over this. And only $86 vs $99.

If you are new to induction cooking as I was The power and temperature function separately. On power mode you adjust the power output, temperature varies to whatever that power level results in. Temperature mode you select the temperature, unit varies the power to maintain temperature. Timer is set after selecting Temp or power, then select timer. I have not used this Yet. Be aware, the unit will not remember a prior set power level. So if you set a power level say P-3, then change to temperature setting, say 320 deg .F (the unit adjust power to maintain temp.), then later switch back to power level setting, the unit will always default to P-6 the level it always starts at. The same is true for going from Temp to power and back to temp, I always starts with default setting. The Burton remembers prior settings. This is to me a big plus for the Burton, you are less likely to burn something, and don't need to adjust setting, every time you change the mode of operation.

The Manual: The manual is very thick, one might think it would have lots of details, one would be wrong. First, it is in English, German, French, Italian. The each selection starts with 27 pages dedicated to English, 16 pages are dedicated to warning and safety, disposal, garantee, specs. of the remaining 11 pages almost no instruction on the use really exist, each section is largely more warnings and safety info. For example the full page dedicated to cleaning is filled with information such as it is important to clean the unit. The total on how is "Clean the hob, the housing of the device and the operating panel with a soft, slightly damp cloth." It does warn to not use any solvents such as " petrol or gasoline." Darn, I use that to clean all my other pots and pans, and toaster even.

In conclusion: I kept the unit, I have the Burton, with 1800 watts, so the 1400 vs 1500 watts does not matter much. Unless, you are trying to boil water rapidly, you will not likely go much beyond half power. I like the near sub boiling temperatures of 160 and 180, Burton has 150 to 210 range. Overall, to me if I was to get only one uni,t or another unit, I would get the Burton, not the Caso. 1800 watts, vs 1400 watts (1800 watts boils a pot of water, much faster), remembers prior setting of other mode when switching modes, save $15, Manual, Burrton's manual is a tri-fold paper, with a photo as one of the 6 panels, yet they provide more useful information than the thick Caso Manual,

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

This is a great Induction cooktop, you won't be disappointed. It looks so cool and modern, and it's easy to use once you get past your fears of it being too complicated because it's German or whatever.

The Temperature Mode is a bit weird, I have no idea how it knows what temperature it's cooking in, but the Power Mode is very useful, you can put it to P-1 and it will be a slow boil/roast to whatever you're making. I know it's child-like, but enjoy watching the bubbles start and stop as the device modulates its output in the lower power levels.

NOTE (to address another reviewer's comments): In order to turn the Temperature dial in smaller increments you must turn it very slowly.

With the right induction cookware, this thing will boil water/milk/what-have-you almost instantly... it makes you feel like the year is 2050 and we have flying cars.

080611 UPDATE:

I have since bought the $300 big shiny all clad from William Sonoma.. It looks like jewelry, and boils my coffee/tea water in 4 minutes, and it is the only one I have ever seen that was quiet.. Now if only I could afford $320 for dedicated coffee water heater though (because thats all its good for).. ADDING THIS NOTE TO BOTH REVIEWS (blue two and all clad)..

THE PROBLEM:

I will contact the manufacturer in case my unit is defective, but they did specifically specify 4 QT (hold hold 195 F.) is the only thing you can simmer (and I like to braise in my favorite pots that are 2.25, 3, and 5 QT batches).. If I am anchored to a 4 QT POT only for cooking, this is also unacceptable.. I was unable to get a simmer going (ruined my meal by boiling it).. I used a 3 QT Le Creuset pot (so very close to the 4QT specified, makes me wonder if even the 4 QT would have simmered)..

As someone else said, maybe the induction technology is not ready yet for real cooking (or you need to buy the $500 and up commercial units).. Almost 25-30 temp settings total, and 2/3 of them boil everything, and the rest are keep warm.. You would think they would try to make all those (different menus etc) into one linear step by step FWD in TEMP.. so we could zero in on a simmer for a pot other the 4 QT..

To test this (make it simmer), I had to skip back and forth bt 3 different menus, each with a diff theme for setting TEMP.. I was going to repeat this, but all that work, and my meal was ruined.. I kept notes on the settings, and what the temp was doing.. As each boiled or cooled below the target TEMP I tried the next one.. NG..

end: 080611 UPDATE:

end: 080611 UPDATE:

Fantastic for heating water..

BUT WILL NOT BRAISE (I was unable to get a "SIMPLE" simmer going).. This deserved 1=star IMHO..

It either boils way too fast, or at 180F there is no detectable simmer.. The next step up from 180 was 210, where I tried going all the way down to power level=1, and it still boiled way too fast (in a 3 QT Le Creuset pot)..

Just got the all clad induction burner, and it is head and shoulders above the blue two is so many ways.. Instead of boiling in just under 5, boiled in 3:45 minutes (about 2 cups at a time).. After boil, flipped down one click, and it stayed on the edge of boiling (good in case the water heated too fast and you are not ready with your tea/coffee).. It also feels, and looks much better.. And a common complaint, noise is greatly reduced from the blue two.. William Sonoma assured me it will simmer (and the manual shows two simmer speeds)..

HEATING WATER:

I gave it an extra star in case someone wants it for water heating only.. I am considering keeping it for water only (paid 90 at williams sonoma).. For water the key strokes to maximum power are button, flip the knob, button flip the knob (turns both the temp and power levels to MAX). I put 2 cups water on a large enameled steel pot, and takes slightly less than 5 minutes to boil.. When I pick up the pot it turns itself off by the time I put te pot back (nice in the summer, but would be a pain if I wanted to keep the water at a certain temp for 3 brews of tea).. Although it heats so fast I dont feel the need to hold temp.. The brew tastes better with fresh water (else the oxygen boils away). Also heats up the house less (and your AC bill is less)..

SAVE ENERGY:

I was impressed with induction in general with the efficiency (I expect I will save money on the AC bill all summer long).. With the old electric burner the pot would actually increase its boil (turned off) after I put it back on the burner (and I could feel the heat on my body walking by).. With the induction I noticed the lack of heat (the whole pot seems to stay amazingly cool to my senses compared to the electric.. but it is still hot maybe enough to burn you if you touch certain areas)..

Honest reviews on CASO Germany Two Induction Burner, Blue

The reason I chose this CASO was because of the design and the price. *****on the design! Disappointed in a few things: the instructions are somewhat hard to understand -booklet says it will flash "0" in standby mode, but it flashes "-"; says to turn the temp dial "all the way to the left" to standby position, the dial turns left or right indefinitely (it doesn't go below 160 or above 430, but regardless, it doesn't stop turning); the temp dial also decreases/increases in increments of 20 degrees, wish it would do 10 degrees; since I am new to induction cooking, would have appreciated an instructional CD or booklet giving you ideas about what temp to boil water, what temp to fry bacon, what temp and power level to use for simmer, mid-high, etc. -as is, it's all trial and error and good luck!! Last, there's a US service no. but no e-mail address, or web sight, which seems odd to me.

This pot far exceeded my expectations. The quality was better than expected. The fit and finish is quite nice and is rather heavy. The thick base proved to work quite well. Ok, so this pot is really two tools in one: A Great piece of cookware and a piece of exercise equipment. Lordy, it weighs a TON.

Ok so how does it cook? Very Well: Very even heat, no hot spots to burn your chowder, it will hold a simmer and come to a quick boil. It has a tight fitting lid that really seals in the heat. It is oven safe and the slopped sides make it easy to stir ingredients in to the broth without loosing them in a corner.

Easy to clean, well, really, VERY easy to clean. And I LOVE the red color. I find NOTHING other than cost and weight to criticize but let us face it: one gets what one pays for and this is a lifetime pot, your lifetime, your kid's lifetime, you r grandkids lifetime. Moreover, considering it is a pot and a Nautilus in one.......

First let me say that I would not have bought this kind of high-end cookware had Amazon not made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I actually bought this on a whim thinking that if it wasn't anything special, then it goes into the church rummage sale.

The maiden voyage dish was a pot roast with vegetables. Okay, so it wasn't soup, but what a great roast. I browned the meat as usual, drained the fat, added the veggies and liquid. The whole thing went into the oven, cover and all. I served the meal from the stylish pot with rave reviews on all the components. Since then I have made soups and stews. It really holds up to slow stove-top cooking also.

Clean up? The enamel coating makes everything slide off with hot soapy water and a little nylon scubby. What more could you ask for? Okay, someone to come and actually do the cooking and clean up. But if you don't have the luxury of a personal chef, get this pot. I actually think of it as a potential heirloom to be passed on to my daughter. It is a little pricy, but worth the splurge.

Hey Amazon, make me a few more offers on Le Creuset cookware and I'll buy. Thanks from the bottom of my pot.

Best Deals for Le Creuset Soup Pot with Cover

This is a wonderful all-purpose pot. I use it for a multitude of purposes:

1. Making sauces for pastas and then adding the pasta to the sauce and tossing. The curved sides make it perfect for the quick and easy blending of shrimp scampi with lemon spaghetti for example.

2. Stir-fry. The sloping sides and great heat retention make stir-fry a natural.

3. Casseroles Easy clean up and a comfortable size make this a wonderful casserole pot.

4. Reheating the large surface area makes this the pot to go to when reheating almost any main course lamb shanks come to mind immediately.

I find that I use this pot for almost everything except soup. For soup I turn to my handy 5-½ quart Le Creuset Dutch oven. Less surface area means less chance to slop over when stirring. I had the 7-½ quart soup pot and gave it away. It was far too much of a space hog on top of the stove. However this pot is neither too large not too small it is just right!

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Soup Pot with Cover

Everything that has been said is true it cooks (everything) beautifully. I've only had one small problem storing the lid upside down on top of the pot will scratch the enamel unless you store it with a towel or waxed paper in between. I'm saving my money to buy a whole set!

What a distinct pleasure to have this fine Creuset in my kitchen! It was worth every penny and then some. The 4-1/2 quart size is perfect for our small household, perfect for use as a Dutch Oven, and a true Best Buy in the Creuset line.

The sloping edges of the pot are my favorite aspect. Or maybe it's the gorgeous variegated "Volcanic Flame!" with the rich vanilla-colored enamel interior. Or maybe it's the smart, competent way it sits atop the stove, ready for any assignment. Spaghetti sauce! Beef stew! Chicken soup!

Solid and enduring pots and pans for the kitchen are always a wise investment; and this one, this one in particular, was love at first sight.
