We ordered it from Amazon.com directly as having 1 or 3 unpleasant experiences with other vendors while buying some items. The skillet is ok for daily use. It produce nice and tasty food. I cooked Indonesian style seafood spicy fried rice, fried noodle, grand ma style pan fried batter coated chicken in it. It searing chicken breast nicely right before I put them in the oven. My only concern, it doesn't produce heat evenly so I have to watch any food situated in the middle. I tried all my gas stove burners but still the same. I don't think my stove is the problem as my other pans and pots from All-Clad and American Kitchen/Regalware we bought from Amazon.com turned out just fine. This is the reason why I gave you 3 stars.

It is OK daily use skillet for price and end result. I don't find any problem cleaning it but the bottom scratch easily with the kind of gas stove typically installed in Singapore. What I like the most from this pan as it is made in the USA. Yes, I'm in a mission avoiding items made in China. Not that I dislike China but their products most of the time produce odors/smelly, hardly long lasting and not meeting health standard.

April 2012 Updated = The pan already broken many months ago. The nonstick come of already. I won't buy this pan anymore. Yes, we prefer not to claim what so ever as we are sure pretty hassle. We wish American product has certain quality. Please, improve Nordic Ware as we love American product.

One of my dear friends has one of these, and paid MUCH more for it, the one I received from Amazon is identical and I am delighted with it. Would have given it a 5* rating but the glaze is not top notch, is a bit thin in a few places. But for what it is....I'm happy!!

I bought it for a gift for my sister...she loved it and I love it...great also as a summer centerpiece with wildflowers or you can use it traditionally as a pitcher...either way, great quality, great piece.

I first saw this jug at the Camellia Cottage B&B in Wilmington NC. I googled it and found the best price on Amazon. Everytime you pour from it, it "gluggles" and we laugh. It would make a great gift. My sister-in-law bought one for her shore house. The jug actually stands over 11 inches tall. Looks great on my kitchen counter when not in use.

Honest reviews on Gluggle Jug Terracotta Jug, Extra Large, 10-Inch

I have a dear friend from England who owns a Glug Jug. Having dined at her home numerous times I always enjoyed pouring some water from her glug jug. Recently in NC I was looking at Water pitchers and decided the thing I really wanted was my own Gluggle Jug. Got online found and ordered. It arrived as promised and is terrific. Now I am able to entertain my diners especially young nieces. Recently my English pal dined at my home and was tickled pink that I had copied her style. We all enjoyed the new jug... it is easy to fill and pour with the treat of the sounds it makes.

I ordered this pitcher for my girl friend who has always wanted one. I ordered it in terracotta -and it came in black. It was for a gift so I didn't have time to send it back and get a new one. The outside box identified it as a terra cotta jug, but inside it was black.

Healthy Legend 12" Fry Pan with Non-stick German Weilburger Ceramic Reviews

Healthy Legend 12' Fry Pan with Non-stick German Weilburger Ceramic Coating - Induction Ready, ECO Friendly Non-toxic Cookware
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
Maybe I can save somebody some time. I spent many hours researching eco-friendly, nonstick cookware, reading what seemed like hundreds of reviews. I settled on the Healthy Legend line and purchased 12-inch and 8.5-inch frying pans. I have been using them for at least four months and am very happy with them. I have used the larger pan almost daily and have noticed no deterioration in the cooking surface. Eggs, pancakes, hamburgers, etc. cook uniformly and slide off the pan, which is easy to clean with plain water and a plastic scrub brush. Occasionally I will use a small amount of dish soap, but this usually seems like overkill.

The only reasons I did not rate this purchase five stars is:

1) The two pans and lids are different styles and do not match. Not a big problem, I just like the look of matching pans and had assumed they would match. Any difference was not obvious on the site, nor was I aware of different "lines" or models. (I purchased these through the company's site.)

2) I received no instructions for the care or use of the pans, other than a brief description on how to screw on the knobs for the lids. I know from reading the various reviews that it is best to avoid washing these in a dishwasher, and best to use plastic utensils and not metal, but it seemed odd.

I believe that because the company is located in Germany, they must have found a third-party vendor in the U.S. to resell the pans. While it was a convenience to use PayPal, and the price was right, I wouldn't have minded paying a few more dollars to receive matching pans and instructions.

I found the Healthy Legend Cookware with the German ceramic coating work the best and no toxic coating to worry about. The German ceramic coating is very strong. I guess it will last 3 to 4 times longer than traditional Teflon coated pan with no health hazard. Teflon is known to cause cancer. Stainless steel pans are not 100% stainless stell, they have 3% nickle in their metal to make them shinny and the some nickle has unknown health effect. I would recommend this Healthy Legend fry pan to anyone as it is the best. Just a reminder, do not overheat it or forgot to turn off the stove and burned it. The coating will not flake off but the non-stick will become more stick but still better than uncoated pan.

Devotees of the revered French brand 'Le Creuset' relish the early origins of this fine cookware made in France for over 85 years. A pedigree unsurpassed, made by dedicated experienced craftsmen, passionate about quality.

There is a romantic notion when creating meals using cookware stamped `Made in France'.

The two items I have just received are now stamped 'Made in Thailand' doesn't quite have the same ring to it somehow.

***EDIT***

Upon using this casserole for the first time, it made a loud cracking sound when I gradually added a room-temperature liquid when it was hot. On closer inspection, a hair-line crack has appeared running across the width of the casserole on both sides. I am not surprised given that the item is now manufactured in Thailand and feels half the weight of my existing French made Le Creuset cookware.

So far this product has been great....we have made a couple of lasagne and used it as a roasting dish for veggies. The only gripe I have is that when we purchased it we thought we were getting a 10x15 dish. Wrong!! This dish is advertised by every other vendor selling it, as well as being labeled by Le Creuset, as a 9" x 13" dish. The reason Amazon gets away with this is that 10" x 15" is the outside dimension from tip of handle to tip of handle. The inside dimensions are 9" x 13"

Very misleading labeling by Amazon!! You have been warned!!

I bought this roaster about a year ago and we have used it for so many meals! It was great for roasting duck and one-pot roast chicken dinners. I say was, because after the Mother's Day roast duck, I discovered two cracks in the pan from one side to the other essentially splitting it in thirds. I kept the lid, thinking I could replace the pan and about two weeks ago, the knob popped off the lid. I am truly on the fence about replacing this well used (but not abused!) roaster -it worked so well and was so easy to clean. Part of me is saying this is a one-off and to just replace it, which I will probably do. Since the pan hasn't broken yet, I'm using it to store placemats on our outdoor table. (NOTE: I did not buy this roaster from Amazon, so I am have hope that it was a "second").

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Stoneware Rectangular Casserole, Fennel

This cost just under $100 and was a gift from my husband for Mother's Day. Amazon repackaged this item with no cushioning which, of course, arrived in pieces. Since I am not the first person who has had this problem you would think that they would have fixed this issue. I say if you want this buy it somewhere else.

This dish has done a wonderful job with several different casserole dishes that I have tried in it. It is VERY heavy-duty, and when loaded with a casserole can be VERY heavy... and very hot! So be careful. But it does its job extremely well. Love the different color options with Le Creuset too.

I have gone thru 3 Black and Decker steamers. I love that you can set a timer on a steamer and walk away. But I use them so much they do not last! I decided to go with Universal steamer made by Circulon, because all my pots are Circulon, so this is a good match. Plus it's stainless steel, as I'm trying to get away from plastic!

I cannot just walk away and the timer go off, so I set the timer on my stove to go off, for the amount of time I need it to steam. This has been working for me just fine! Perfect size for cooking for two!

This is exactly what I was looking for in a steamer: well made, doesn't stain or tarnish, holds the steam in well and yet easy to remove.

I steamed beets, kale, and small lobster tails with this steamer and it worked wonderfully for all three. It's stainless steel and feels very well made no loose handles, no easily bent, and didn't stain with the beets.

Buy Progressive International Collapsible Cupcake and Cake Carrier

Progressive International BCC-1AZ Collapsible Cupcake and Cake Carrier in Amazon Exclusive Protective Box
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
I bought this a few weeks ago because I'm always making cupcakes and never have an easy way to bring them anywhere. Most cupcake holders hold 12 cupcakes or crush the frosting. The other problem is that most holders take up so much room when you need to store them that it's not worth having them in the first place. This holds 24 cupcakes and has enough headroom to prevent frosting mishaps. It also has an ingenious collapsible design to allow it to take up less than half its original height. I'll break down the positives and negatives:

POSITIVES:

Collapsible, space-saving design

Holds 12-24 cupcakes you choose! Use one tray for 12, 2 trays for 24.

Included cupcake trays are nice to look at, easy to clean, and have finger-holes to allow easier removal of individual cupcakes

Cupcakes have enough headroom on both levels for mounds of frosting or decorations

Use it with cake instead of cupcakes if you want by just removing the trays altogether.

NEGATIVES:

The included cupcake trays don't interlock with the base in any way. They actually slide around quite a bit until you put the cover on. This creates a problem for loading and for unloading. If they had made a small groove that the tray could have sat in or a way to lock them in place without the cover, it would have increased the stability of the trays for loading and unloading. NOTE: They don't move when you put the lid on, only with the lid off!

I doubt the handle is going to be strong enough for holding heavy cakes. I don't honestly expect to hold a cake caddy by the handle, though some cakes can weigh a lot and I'm not going to trust a handle with my time-consuming precious baked masterpiece. I always carry from the bottom. Still, the handle has the very important job on this cake caddy of being able to expand the thing from collapsed to full.

Requires a fair amount of strength to uncollapse.

Kind of ugly. The red band is really not a nice color. I would have preferred it in white. It really goes with nothing it's not Christmas red, it's more of a maroon, but even then, it's not REALLY maroon, either. It's just not pretty and it looks dated now, it's going to look even more dated in a few more years.

Cupcakes could flip sideways/over if you're not careful. I had no mishaps bringing cupcakes where they needed to go because I was very careful, but bringing the cupcakes home I was less careful and some of the leftovers flipped on their sides.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this. The trays are made of high-quality plastic that doesn't stain (black food coloring sat on it for 7 days and came right off without even any soap). The locks feel secure. The space-saving design sets it apart from every other cake caddy on the market. And it can hold 24 cupcakes without much trouble. Even though it's ugly and the trays slide around initially, I think it's a pretty good product.

If you buy this carrier, replace the handle even if you don't plan to carry it by the handle. The provided handle is a tragic accident waiting to happen. Just make sure that the replacement handle is designed so it wont slide down into the carrier and drape in your frosting.

The carrier is cleverly designed, but it's cheaply made. The raised cupcake tray stands on slightly wobbly stilts, attached to the lower cupcake tray. The lower cupcake tray doesn't actually attach to the base. As a another commenter pointed out, the situation is stabilized by the lid being in place, so it shouldn't be a problem if you're careful while loading it up.

The collapsing action is okay. The red rubber in the middle folds down so the carrier is only half height for storage, but it's firm enough that it shouldn't accidentally fold down and crush your baked goods, though you should not try to rest anything on top of the carrier. It would have been better if there were stabilizers to keep this from being an issue, but it's a small risk. (I haven't been using it long enough to know how much the rubber will soften with use.)

The only terrible feature for me was the one that left me standing in my driveway mourning ruined cupcakes when the cheap handle broke the first time I used it. It wasn't even full. There's really no excuse for this. The carrier is designed to be carried by the handle. With a replacement handle, the carrier is a good one. If not for the lousy handle, the carrier would have been worth another star or even two, but as it is, it is a product that has ruined many people's days and will ruin many more.

I probably wont buy any more products from Progressive. I wont trust that they don't have any other vital and stupid flaws.

Best Deals for Progressive International Collapsible Cupcake and Cake Carrier

I bought this for a cake decorating class I was taking. I used it twice and when I was carrying my beautifully decorated cake out of class the second night the carrier handle broke and the cake dropped to the floor. If I would have known the handle was made so badly I wouldn't have bought this item. Don't waste your money!

Honest reviews on Progressive International Collapsible Cupcake and Cake Carrier

I wasn't into cupcakes until a little challenge came up at work about 18 months ago and since then I've been experimenting ever since with about 400+ cupcakes baked under my belt. I realized I needed a carrier for transporting cupcakes to work and parties since the hobby seemed to be sticking to me for more than a minute. I preferred the collapsable design but the mixed reviews of this carrier prevented me from purchasing it until about 6 months ago.

I have to say I'm very happy I did. I have not had any signifigant issues with this carrier. The cavet is though, I've never tried carrying it by the handle and double, triple check the locks. I would recommend not carrying this by the handle.

I have used this close to 20 times to transport cupcakes to work and parties. Cupcakes are very easy to manage in this carrier I have not had any lost "frosting" or decorations ruined and I'm known to load the frosting and decorations on the cupcakes! I even used the carrier (minus the cupcake trays) to transport a petite wedding cake (high top cake for bride and groom). I used this for my cake decorating classes all summer too. Every time it worked as designed.

There are two issues I have with this carrier I would share with someone contemplating purchasing this. First, as noted by others, the cupcake trays do not lock into the bottom of the carrier. It's snug once the carrier is locked but I did have an almost wreck when the cupcake tray moved a little on me when I was filling the bottom tray. The second issue would be the "collapsable" feature and this is more of a worry / concern. I've been watching it very carefully and the carrier does not show any wear; however, I'm nervous this material will eventually give preventing its use and/or comprimise the structural integrity of the carrier. I try not over "collapse" / store without collapsing it if I'm going to use it within a week which goes against the main reason I purchased this one. Again, this is just a fear at this point.

I would love to have seen this with a mini-cupcake tray option too. They have been pretty hard to transport without lossing a few each time.

Overall I would recommend purchasing this carrier if you're a frequent cupcake / round cake baker with the disclaimer don't carry it by the handle and double check the locks whenever you start to transport something in this carrier.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Progressive International Collapsible Cupcake and Cake Carrier

First off I DO agree that the handle was in retrospect rather cheap as it broke for me too... BUT not until I had transported at least 3 heavy fully decorated cakes and several times with cupcakesI fully agree with many here that mentioned that you would (or should) NEVER rely on the handlea plastic one at thatto transport something that you spent SO much time and love on and that is basically irreplaceable unless you SOMEhow have the time to start alll over again :) I am SO sorry for those of you who experienced such a nightmare! But I have always tried to learn a valuble lesson from such disasters! This is a very very heavy dutyand heavy carrier so the handle clearly wouldn't be enough to hold it when full of something so heavy and dense as cakes/cupcakes....I always (thankfully) held it by the bottom and used the handle to help hold it upright and steady. My handle DID however break though when my husband used it to pull out the top from the collapsed state. I say above that I wish I had read these reviews to know this would certainly happen so we could have 'babied' it for a bit longer. He assures me we can fix it as you do need something to pull it out from the collapsed position.

HOWEVER, this is most certainly better than any other carrier I have tried myself and I've had severalthey just don't carry so many cupcakes or ones that have piles of beautifully decorated cupcakes without compressing and messing up all your work! The stands are great for display as well if it's not a particularly fancy eventif so I would transfer them to a tree etc...but quite nice for taking to your office etc.can just take the top off and they are beautifully ready for people to take them out one by one without messing up the others due to the finger cutouts that others mentioned.... and Yes a cake WILL slide around and ruin your work as well as cardboard certainly slides on plastic but I have found this to be a concern on any carrier and I just cut out a piece of rug backing or the same design of shelf liner or the like. It works perfect and you don't see it!!

All in all I give this at least 4 stars and the only reason it's not five is because for five stars I expect shear perfection :)

Hope this helps!!

psnot sure why one person said it was ugly? I don't really care what the cover looks like to begin with but I will say that I have actually gotten several compliments on it! :)

La Crueset enameled cast iron pots are expensive, but durable and nonstick. This pot looks beautiful, and a few of my friends have admired it. I've used it half a dozen times with excellent results. Crucial to success is familiarity with cast iron heat control. Heat the pot first at medium, not higher. Put your oil or butter and wait till it's hot, then put whatever you're cooking. Stir only with nonmetal implements, not to scratch the enamel. After adding braising or stewing liquid, be it soup, wine or tomatoe sauce, you can raise the heat above medium. Once it boils, lower the heat to low and braise. The results are excellent and predictable. I haven't been disappointed once. This is my second La Crueset pot. Once again, heat control is key to enjoying these pots. It's different from the regular pots and pans in that regard.

I couldn't live without this dutch oven. I use it almost everyday and for almost everything I cook: soups, casseroles, stews, braising large cuts of meat. Even if I'm cooking a smaller amount of something that doesn't necessarily require such a large size pot it is wonderful because it allows for experimentation and adding additional ingredients without worrying about having to change to a larger pot. Recently I was making bread and broke my clay Romertof and used the Le Creuset to bake the bread. It was the best loaf I've ever baked, perhaps because the heavy lid seals so well. Just be sure to change out to the higher temp lid knob for high-heat oven use. The only drawback, as another reviewer mentioned, is that the diameter is larger than most stove top burners and that causes crowding on the stove top with other pots. However, you won't have a heat distribution problem with the Le Crueset, even if the bottom extends farther than the ring of the range burner, provided you bring the pot up to temp slowly, and as recommended.

Where do I start, maybe the price, got such a deal on a "used" Le Creuset. The oven was brand new, except the box was a little bent but who cares about the box! Saved almost 50% off the "new" price.

Cooked with it the first day we received it, the braised oxtail browned perfectly and braised for 4 hours. Yummy.

Already thinking of other dishes to make with the new French oven.

A bit on the heavy side but this will last forever if we take care of it. Thank goodness I have a farmer's sink so there is no problem fitting in the sink.

Will always look at the "used" items now before paying full price.

I bought this handle for my Lodge cast iron skillet, but it did not fit at all. It was both too long and the opening too narrow to fit the Lodge handle at all. If quality tools are important to you, this is the fry basket for you. In case you may want to know what size it really is, it's:

Diameter: 9.75" Dimensions: 19" x 9.75" wide x 4" tall.

No, you don't have to use it in an allclad pan. I'm using it in a dutch oven and it fits perfectly. It also has that hook on the handle side so you can hang it over the oil to drain. And it's STURDY.

This is 60 bucks at All Clad sites and this is a heck of a deal.

Now to enjoy some Fronch Fries.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

Purchased the All-Clad after learning about another fry basket and researching fry baskets. I chose the All-Clad because it's stainless steel (vs chrome plated) and, as in all All-Clad products, it has a life-time warranty. It has a large capacity and the handle is NOT riveted to the basket, but it does seem to be securely attached. I like that the base has "feet" that elevate your contents maybe 1/4" above the bottom of the pan to keep the contents out of any residue left from multiple batches of frying. You DO need to buy a deep pan to use it in. I tried it in my Tramontina dutch oven and it's not a good fit. I broke down and got the All-Clad 6 quart deep saute pan (before the prices jumped astronomically) and it's a perfect fit. The fry basket has a hook on the bottom that allows you to hang the basket on the edge of the pan to drain very nice. As the weather gets warmer, I plan to use it outside on the grill burner for frying to keep the grease out of the kitchen. For now, we're using it to contain the chicken and vegetables when we make stock. It's so much easier than straining it out.

Best Deals for All-Clad 6-Quart Fry Basket

This thing is super. It turns the 6 qt stockpot or tall sauté pot into a deep fryer, or extracts the carcass and/or veggies out of stock liquid without having to strain off the liquid into another container.

I love to make turkey or chicken soup with the carcass after most of the meat has been eaten, but there's usually some meat sticking to the bones that needs to be hand pulled after boiling. By using this basket with my tall 6 qt sauté pan, I can just lift it up with all the bones and vegetables inside and hang it on the edge of the pan via the basket's hook to let everything drain and cool. When the ingredients are cool enough to handle I can remove the remaining meat from the bones and throw out the rest. If I'm making a soup, I can add that meat right back to the stock along with some rice or noodles and chopped parsley and it's wonderful. Of course, I may want to do other things with the stock, but the fact remains that with this basket, getting the solids out of the liquid is a piece of cake.

If you're into deep-frying, of course, the basket is perfect for that, but I use it far more often for making stock or blanching something. This basket is worth its weight in gold. Highly recommended.

Honest reviews on All-Clad 6-Quart Fry Basket

well built for the all clad 6qt deep sauté pot....

pro: good value and perfect size for deep frying in a 6 qt pot

con: the handle is not up to all clad standards its very light weight ... these Re made in china nd for $60 they can afford to put a real all clad handle on it

update

also the rim clip is too high, all clad should redesigned to 1) use a real all clad handles ,,,and 2) place the rim clip at the very bottom so that when you raise the basket out of the oil you can actually rest it on the pot without the food at its bottom still immersed into the oil...

that said its otherwise well built with stainless steel mesh and resting feet that keeps it from touching the bottom of the pot

I already own the 4-quart version of this fry basket which is now discontinued and wanted to add this 6-quart version before the same thing possibly happened to it. Although it is Made in China, other reviewers have correctly pointed out that this is a very decent quality fry basket that serves its intended purpose well.

Whereas my 4-quart basket that was purchased from a retail store came in an All-Clad box, however, this 6-quart version purchased here from Capital Cookware arrived with no such product packaging. Instead, it was delivered in a shipping box, very securely packed with newspapers, and enclosed in a thick protective bag. While I have to presume that this was done to simply facilitate shipping, it would also be nice to have been provided with the original box since this product is being purchased as new. Also, this practice does raise some suspicion about its authenticity, since I have seen it reported elsewhere that products sold without their packaging could potentially be counterfeit. A side-by-side comparison of this 6-quart basket to my 4-quart basket has convinced me that this 6-quart basket is indeed an original. Just don't expect original packaging from this seller.

Boy did I spend a lot of time looking through all the cookbook stands on this site. I'm VERY happy with this purchase. This is durable, wont fall over even with large books, holds large books and small books and even just a piece of paper. I'm not much of a rooster person, this is my first and only rooster in my kitchen, but I think it adds such a fun whimsy to my kitchen. It sits on my island, so it's center of the kitchen. If I know what I'm going to cook that night, then I put the recipe on the stand for the whole day and it actually gets me motivated to cook! If I have no recipe planned for the near future, then I just sit a pretty cookbook on the stand and it still motivates my wanting to cook. Oh, and I love having my recipe upright and in front of my face while I'm cooking! No more sitting it on the counter, where it gets all dirty and I have to constantly look down and find my place. Having it upright and in front of your face really DOES make it easier!!

I just wanted to add this...3 YEARS later...I still love this and everything I wrote above still holds true :) Such a great buy!

This is an attractive cookbook holder. It also appears to be sturdy. That said, it was a "no go" for me because only small to moderate sized cookbooks will fit in it. Since many of my favorite books are large and jumbo sized I need something with a larger capability.

A nice looking, nicely constructed holder but make sure it suits your needs before ordering.

This stand is great -it will accommodate both large and small cookbooks. I just put it on my kitchen island when cooking and the book pages stay open perfectly. No matter how big the cookbook, it doesn't lean or topple. When ready to store, I pull in the stand and usually will place a cookbook in the cookbook holder part-then slip it in my bookcase. Really nice and suits my needs!

I've been wanting a cookbook holder for months and months but couldn't settle on one... I noted this one and thanks to the reviews that finally showed up, I went for it! It's wonderful!!! Very solid and sturdy, holds all types of cookbooks and keeps the pages open. It's a cozy addition to the kitchen and reasonably priced.

I have three of the non-stick hard enamel frying pans from T-Fal now. It is deeper and has a lid but otherwise it is the same type of pan as this one: T-fal E6080862 Ultimate Nonstick Hard Enamel 12.5-Inch Fry Pan / Saute Pan, Black. I like it that it does not have Teflon but is still non-stick. It is a fairly heavy pan which does not warp like cheaper ones. You would expect that all cookware nowadays is dishwasher safe but it is not (including many T-fal products). However, this one is dishwasher safe. This pan is basically an extra deep frying pan with a lid. I find it as easy to use as a normal frying pan without the extra the depth. However, the extra depth is handy when I sautee bulky stuff like spinach. The bottom has a thermo-spot heat indicator which I never use and find a useless feature (it basically tells you that the pan is hot). In additon, the red heat indicator darkens over time and looses therefore its effectiveness.

T-fal makes good pans and I'm sure this one will perform well. However, I specifically chose this product because of the image (I never do this, but the advertised measurements were "13.8 x 21.5 x 10.6 inches"). Huh?! What were they measuring??!! Not one measurement given corresponds to this product.

What I need is a standard frying pan with a glass lid to steam/fry eggs. This one has fairly tall sides making it difficult to use a flat turner. ACTUAL dimensions are: 10" outside diameter (8.5" diameter cooking surface), handle is 7.8" long, sides are 2.3" high and perfectly vertical, overall height to top of lid handle is 5.75". I hope including these REAL measurements is helpful.

I would give this product 5 stars, but the poor measurements made it very difficult to select and now that I have it, I'm disappointed that the sides aren't sloped like the picture seems to indicate. I even went to the T-fal site and they had even less information so I don't blame Amazon at all.

This 10-inch fry pan with lid, from Amazon, makes it easy to create a perfect omelette. The lid fits tight so that the top of the omelette cooks along with the bottom. After a bit of practice I can now flip a six-egg omelette in the T-Fal without any breaks to the omelette. 6 eggs! That makes making an omelette fun!

Are you clueless about cooking but wish to impress your perspective mate?

Recently divorced, never had to do the cooking until now?

Just wondering, what the **** do I buy, there's so many choices!!!

If you are among the clueless-panless, I suggest that you get two pans: this one, for your eggs, omelets, pancakes, stir fry's, etc AND a nonstick, 2 quart saucepan (with vented lid) for your rice, ramen noodles, spaghetti, and macaroni and cheese. Make sure they have the coated handles so you don't burn yourself.

I accidentally bought this pan at 2am while I was drinking, in place of a covered frying pan. This one is like a frying pan only deeper. Sure glad I got this one though because those raised sides come in handy! 10 inches is the perfect size.

Ever since I moved in with the boyfriend, I instantly lost my ability to cook. I am a nonstick gal and he is a cast-iron man. Old pans went with the ex. The start of a burn-everything, question my ability era of culinary preparation. No offense to those who truly know how to handle a cast-iron pan, but I am the kind of cook who throws everything together in 5 minutes, heats that stuff up and hopes it turns out edible.

This new pan renewed my interest in cooking because it was so easy to use! The thermo spot tells you that you have to heat the pan before throwing food in it, not after. Who knew? The box also reassured me that no matter how stupid you are, you CAN use metal cookware. Better to use plastic, but you can get away with it. Doesn't like to be stabbed with a knife though, don't gouge the poor thing.

The first time I cooked with the pan, I went into a blank-stare trance for who knows how long and when I came out of it, the food wasn't burned and wasn't stuck to the bottom. Impressive! (-: yes, the batteries in my smoke detector are new, thanks for your concern :-)

Here's a recipe to get you started:

Couscous...it's a fun kind of food, little balls of joy

Some veggies...maybe red peppers, onions.

Portabella mushroom cut into chunks (or if you're not a vegetarian, get some precooked meat...salmon in a can maybe)

Braggs liquid amino

Olive oil

1. Put a splash of olive oil in the pan. Pour a cup or two of couscous in there and brown that stuff up.

2. Toss the veggies and mushrooms in, add some splashes of Braggs (not to much though, it's salty)

3. Add about a cup or two of water

4. Cover with the top, put on some Reggae, and cook for about 10 minutes until the water is gone. Stir a couple of times intermittently too.

Eat. This should taste ok depending on your standards.

I am thinking about spending some time learning how to really cook, now that the food doesn't stick and burn.

I really can't see anything wrong with this pan, it's perfect and much better than any other pan I've had in the past. Also, if you are so concerned with nonstick cookware and ingesting it when it flakes off down the road, just know that the company put a bunch of trees and green symbols on the box so that means it's ok. But seriously, they DID say that if you ingest it, it passes right through the body unabsorbed, like that Taco Bell you had last night. So don't get your panties all in a knot.

Namaste, friends.

I have been using this pan for over a year and it has held up very well. T-Fal has lots of pans so look for the ones with the 'techno resist base' as they are a higher quality than some others. Look for the pattern on the base pictured with this product and you will be happy. I mostly wash by hand as I have read that dishwashers are very hard on non stick surfaces and want these to last. This pan was the first I tried and I went back to the big box store and picked up two others in different sizes. I use them every day. Read the instructions just cuz they are non stick doesn't mean they should be used without any oil. I put a small amount of EVOO in the bottom before I cook anything. I have retired the Farberware I received when I got married and am not looking back.
