I use my bag for storing the oven Nuwave 20322 Pro Digital-Controlled Infrared Tabletop Oven, Black since I can't keep it out on the counter. The oven sits in the bag assembled and it fits neatly and snugly, even with the extender ring. The bag is a must have for road trips. We like to take ours with us when we stay in hotels so we don't have to eat out if we don't want to. I pack my paper goods, seasonings, and other miscellaneous cooking items that I may need inside the base of the oven so it's like having my own little portable kitchen!

The bag is sturdy, and I think it is a good investment.

I am most pleased with the carrying bag for my Nuwave Oven. I use it after every cooking and take it to the campground when we go camping which works out very handy. I think everyone should have one of the carrying bags.

Unlike the other review, my Tagine arrived well-packed, so Amazon seems to have conquered the shipping & breakage problem. The fig color is a nice offset to the appearance of the food inside. It was hard to decide on which color to order, but now that I have this one, I'm pleased with the decision. I highly recommend "The New Book of Middle Eastern Food" by Claudia Roden as an accompaniment to the tagine. Her book has excellent recipes made from ingredients available in US markets. Many of the recipes, especially the pilafs, can be made in a tagine. This is a nifty way to make a main-dish dinner for the family, or to put an exotic flair to a dinner shared with friends. Rather than some new gadget that seldom gets used, this can become a regular favorite in the kitchen. Looks good sitting on the stove, too.

You get what you pay for. That's what they say and that holds true for this high quality utensil. Not having cooked in the North African manner, it's taken us a while to learn the little techniques that make a dish just right. This slow/steaming method of cooking brings meat to tender perfection. We've learned to add vegetables during the later part of the process to avoid a mushy result. Spices add definition. Moroccan families often have their own spice recipes that are usually combinations of common spices with maybe an unusual ingredient or two. But adding common spices, according to recipes, will still yield a tasty result. More individualized creations will take experimentation and time.

It is difficult to judge the size of the utensil from pictures. It turned out to be larger than we expected and is really too large for cooking for two. It is rated as a six quart tagine. I would say that it easily cooks a dish for four people and maybe even six. This could be rated for five stars but I put it at four since the capacity is more than we need.

My Emile Henry "Figue" Tagine arrived promptly and well packaged. It is gorgeous, and now, regally stationed upon a stainless steel throne of a stove...sitting there, waiting patiently for me to use it for something, everything actually. So far, used it for an Ethiopian feast. Tonight, fresh, ocean salmon in a Moroccan Style. Tomorrow, perhaps a vegetable frittata. I'm totally enchanted!!! So enthralled that I ordered and received the larger, black one and now when I gaze into my kitchen, I'm filled with INSPIRATION!

Honest reviews on Emile Henry Flame Top 2.6 Quart Tagine, Figue

This tagine is beautiful and appears well made. It is an almost brown purple. It definitely makes a main dish to serve 4-6 adults. I cooked 2 delicious & easy dishes using recipes from Tagines & Couscous by Ghillie Basan. Unfortunately during the second cooking, 25 minutes total on low heat on a gas stove, it cracked!

I followed the manufacturer's directions to prepare it "bring a small amount of milk to a boil, pour it into the bottom of the tagine and let cool."

Both the product description on amazon & in the pampflet accompanying the tagine say you can use it directly on a gas flame without a diffuser. I would recommend using a diffuser anyway. I used one for the first dish I made because it cooked for 2 hours. The lamb I made was incredibly tender and succulent, and it was cheap stew meat, so the tagine worked as it should, until it didn't.

I've returned and reordered. I will update after using the new one a few times.

***update...I have received my replacement and have cooked 2 tagines since. 1 at low heat for 2 hours and 1 at high heat for 30 minutes. With both I used an inexpensive diffuser I bought on amazon. No problems and succulent, tender meat both times. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that I feel I have to use a diffuser, yet the product is marketed as not needing one. I was worried when I read reports of cracking, but I searched high and low and didn't find a better stovetop-capable tagine available for sale at any price. So I bought it, and prepped as specified in the instructions by pouring in hot milk and letting it cool.

I've used it twice and so far the results have been stunning! I love the way it slowly cooks things on low or medium heat. Onions turn in just a few minutes into the most beautiful softest most scrumptious ones I've ever seen. Meat and chicken cooks slowly and evenly and ends up moist and tender.

The size is just right to cook for four people--or to cook for one with a few days of leftovers. The size has been good for everything I've made so far from Paula Wolfert's The Food of Morocco, which I've also reviewed.

The tagine is beautiful to look at and I'm glad I chose the figue color which is deep and rich and more understated than the red or blue--which are also beautiful as I have these colors in lasagna pans and meatloaf pans. The material is easy to clean--a couple times it got a little crust on it where the meat browned but it came off easily.

Note on Sept. 26, 2: I am revisiting this review after six months of use and my opinion hasn't changed. I've used it a couple dozen times and results are perfect every time, and tagine has not cracked even on medium heat and occasionally on high. (Mostly there's no reason to go past medium when cooking a tagine, so I haven't tested on high often). If it ever cracks or wears, I will post an update!

You can cook and then keep them on warm all day if you like and not be limited to a stupid timer that shuts off too soon.. You can make Hot Dogs right from the freezer with this awesome griller...

I wanted a hot dog maker for a long time but didn't want to spend the $ because of all the mixed reviews on the different hot dog makers Amazon offers. But I wanted one so bad I took a chance on this on and let me tell you HOT DOG ! I do not like frying or boiling hot dogs I want them just like you get at a convenience store and places like that. Now I have that. Some reviews on different machines said if its round it will cook. So I tried sausage and bratwurst. Hmmmmmm GOOD. I don't like frying those either because I am not the world's best cook probably second worst (there has to be somebody out there worse than me). Because these items are curvy in shape I make sure they are straight when I prepare them for freezing (I buy in bulk at BJ's) with the Food Saver sealer I bought from Amazon. There was absolutely no problem making these 3 items. I will not comment on cooking time because I preheat the machine then after putting whatever I am making on the machine I just keep coming back to see if they look done to me. (Inexperience retired male beginner and too old to start learning).

Cleaning the machine is very simple which is what I depended on from the reviews. The tray pulls out and I just wash it with the rest of my dishes (by hand I have a dishwasher and all I use it for is a place for my frying pans to be near me in the kitchen and as a drying rack when the other is full). I clean the rollers and unit as suggested in the owner's manual. SO SIMPLE !

I have used this machine a number of times and am VERY HAPPY with it. I am considering putting those little meats balls for spaghetti on the machine but since I cut them into halves that wouldn't work. Maybe next time I use the machine I will put ONE meat ball on it for a laugh to see what happens.

If any of you would be so kind; if there is something else I can make on this machine please sent me ideas in the comments.

I let someone borrow my old rack and they never returned it. Since then I have been making due with what's on hand; however I am very happy to have the stand replaced. It is so simple to use and the dhokla's always turn out great.

I don't want to give even 1 star, but had no option.

I already had a Dhokla stand which the plate has to get into the grove of 4 stainless steel piece that protrudes from the stand. I totally hated the mechanism. Seeing this stand in amazon, I was so excited with the stand given for this Dhokla plate as the plate may just slide into the stand. So I immediately ordered it and I was eagerly waiting for it. But I was so disappointed seeing the same one what I had. The package was totally broken. The Dhokla stand looked completely different from the picture they had posted. Totally a fake product. Now I want to return it & they want me to pay for the return cost, which is totally unfair. I don't know how Amazon is supporting such vendors.

These work well...I was surprised to see how large they are...I have to cut or "crumple" them to fit into my French fry cones, which are standard size found at most kitchen accessory stores. I should have noticed in the picture that they are much longer on one side and I think that they stick out a little too much. Overall, I like these and they will definitely be used.

I bought this handle for my Lodge cast iron skillet, but it did not fit at all. It was both too long and the opening too narrow to fit the Lodge handle at all. I did try it on my All-Clad nonstick small skillet's 6 1/2" handle, however, and it fit perfectly. I always loved the All-Clad, but hated the handle since it never felt secure. The stock pot arrived on time and in good condition. I have used the stock pot twice since it was delivered. I find the pot distributes heat very evenly and is great for making large quantities which I then freeze in multiple containers. I would recommend this pot to anyone that likes to make a large quantity of items like soup for freezing for later use or for a large party.

When we built a new house a few years ago, we opted for an induction cooktop. Day to day pots had been replaced immediately, but we felt the lack of a large pot for doing "big-group" sized stews, etc. When this pot arrived last week, it was immediately put to the test when I made a triple-sized batch of green chile pork stew.

That recipe calls for browning the pork in the bottom of the pan. I was particularly pleased with the excellent heat distribution across the bottom of the pan a good match for the 11" circle on our induction cooktop.

Enamel on cast iron cookware like this, was, until recently, only available from makers like Le Creuset. Lately, several lower cost makers have come on the scene, like Target and Innova. The new budget priced Lodge cookware is in the same price range as the low cost alternatives but completely out performs them.

I have all of the brands I have mentioned. The Lodge is the same weight as the Le Creuset which is much heavier than the other budget models. The ridge where the lid and sides meet is a matt black porcelain on the Lodge and Le Creuset but is just exposed cast iron for the other budget models (which leads to rusting if you are not careful). The porcelain resists staining (even tomato sauces) in the Lodge and Le Creuset but the other budget models stain very easily. And finally, the Lodge and Le Creuset maintain a very polished interior finish that resists sticking which others do not. So, I see no performance differences at all between the Le Creuset and the Lodge whereas the comparably priced budget models are certainly inferior.

If you plan of using these pots very heavily (every day for example) you might want to upgrade to the higher priced Lodge product. It has 4 coatings of enamel as opposed to 2 in this model. But if you use them once or twice a week I dont think you will need the added wear resistance.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

This is a terrific value. The quality and performance match my Le Creuset pieces at a fraction of the price. The only slight design flaw I have found is that the rounded bottom makes browning large pieces of meat awkward. Other than that I have no complaints. Even heating. Easy clean up. I use it several times a week.

UPDATE: I found a second minor problem. The inside rim of the lid has a couple of raised spots which prevent the lid from seating tightly. This causes steam to escape much faster than I would like during a long braise or stew.

Update 2: Three years in I am dropping my rating to three stars. It's still a decent pot at a bargain price, but it will not be an heirloom piece like my Le Creuset. The loose fitting lid turns out to be a manufacturing shortcut. The lids and pot rims on the Le Creuset are machined flat so the lid fits tightly. The lid on this (and other inexpensive enameled cast iron pieces I have looked at) is cast with three raised spots which allow the lid to sit "flat" (like a tripod) on the pot without the extra machining step. This shortcut, unfortunately, makes it impossible for the lid to seal tightly. This makes the pot unsuitable for some tasks unless I make a foil gasket for a tight seal. Secondly, I now have several small chips in the enamel (on the lid and outside) on this pot. My Le Creuset pieces, which I have had much longer and use just as often, have no chipping.

Bottom line: the quality you get is the quality you pay for.

Update 3: I am informed in some of the comments that the products shipping in 2011 have a smooth rimmed lid rather than the "tripod" design. I cannot confirm this, but it would remove one problem I have described above. Meanwhile I am sending this pot to Goodwill and have replaced it with a French made oven from Costco.

Best Deals for Lodge Color Dutch Oven

I purchased this from Amazon around mid-December and have been using it probably 3-4 times/week since then. It is as well constructed as my mother's Le Creuset french ovens, but at a much more reasonable price. I find Lodge products to be a good value, although this piece represents a departure for them as it is not made in the USA, but rather China. Nonetheless, it is very well constructed, with details like the black porcelain enameled rim of the pot and the lid setting it apart from some of the other inexpensive alternatives. I have used mine for mussels in white wine, no-knead bread (more on this below), stew, and various other dishes, and it has held up very well thus far. In another 20 or 30 years I should have a better idea of whether it will hold up as well as my mother's LC pots, but the materials appear to be suitable for the long haul. At one-sixth the price of Le Creuset, I'm willing to take that bet.

One aspect of the pot which I found wanting was the knob. The black phenolic knob completes the Le Creuset lookalike styling, but as with the LC product, it is not heat-safe to 500 degrees. I preheat the vessels for my bread baking at 500-550 degrees for 30-60 minutes, and the knob would not survive. Therefore, I went to the local hardware store and bought a substantial chrome-steel knob of the same base diameter as the included knob, with matching screw, and have used it ever since. For $9 total, the unit is now safe to 550 degrees F and beyond. Net cost: $59.

Great value and I recommend it highly.

Honest reviews on Lodge Color Dutch Oven

I called Lodge Mfg. They e-mailed me a report showing the testing that they have had done on their enamel coated cookware. All of their non enamel cookware is made here in the U.S. The enamel coated cookware is made in China but has been tested for lead content. That set my mind at ease and thought this review would help others too.

This Dutch oven is absolutely gorgeous! An incredible value in the world of enameled cast iron these days, I have a Le Creuset dutch oven that I love, but wanted another piece that was smaller and to be completely honest, wanted to to test one of Lodge's new enameled cast iron pieces that are more price friendly. I have other lodge pieces which I love and thought it was worth a try. I have to admit I was lured by the beautiful red color. Now that I have received it and see it, the picture does not do it justice! It is so pretty, but it cooks superbly like my other lodge pieces, but clean up is so much easier and I don't have to oil each time. I can also cook dishes that are acidic that I can't in the regular cast iron. You also can cook at almost half the normal temps in the oven because it retains the heat so well, which is great with the price of electricity and gas right now! I really think these are going to take off with their affordable prices on these. They have the Lodge name security backing them and hopefully they have not sold their name to produce these like a lot of other companies these days, but I doubt it. But for under $50 for a 6 quart dutch oven, it is worth a try! I am very happy and showing all my friends and family. Do give these a try!

This is a nice looking little cookware set. For the price, they are better quality than I expected. However, there is one little caution I would like to add: The lid handles are not well sealed and so not only does dish water get stuck in the gap, but steam also can escape through there, raising the temperature of the handle to scalding temps AND if you then turn the lid slightly the hot water/steam can run over your hands. Yes... I learned the hard way. Please be careful and wear gloves.

Twenty five bucks for a set of cookware? Yep! Now, don't get too excited. This is pretty thin stainless steel. However, if you're on a budget and cooking for one person, and if you can resist the urge to set your stove higher than medium, this little set will work perfectly for you. It's the perfect size for a bachelor and it's light weight. Did I mention it's only $25?

Honest reviews on Cook N Home 7 Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set

This is my first purchase for a stainless steel set of cookware. I usually use nonstick kind, but mine has been worn out after many years of use.

These pots and pan are lightweight and have nice appearance. The pots are really good for making soups (that way the food doesn't stick to the pots.) The pan, uh, I used it to fry some rice, and it sticks crazily. I tried to soak it in water for a long time and still unable to clean the whole dark burnt marks off the pan. Too bad! I shouldn't have done that with this kind of material anyway.

The handles for the biggest pot seem thin and not so sturdy. They seem a bit loose, but they are strong enough to handle the job.

I definitely love this set for the food safety issue. But for frying, I would recommend using nonstick for easy cleaning. In addition, for the great price, it's good to own one. Thank you Amazon!

Customer Ratings: 5 stars

At first, I tried to put my pasta sheets across the metal tray and create pockets by pressing the back of the plastic tray down upon it. This made some of the 'pockets' rip. Now what I do is, flip the plastic tray bump side up,place my pasta sheet on the bottom of the plastic tray first, fitting the pasta around those bumps with my fingers, and then place that assembly on top of the metal tray. All that is left now is to fill the pockets, moisten the edges, cover them with another sheet of pasta, and take a rolling pin across that final assembly. You might have to pull them apart a little and let them set for 30 minutes before cooking. PS The raviolis do seperate better if you also allow your pasta sheets to dry for 20-30 minutes first.

This is a wonderful product. I was surprised how easy it is to make perfect ravioli the first time out. The plastic form makes easy indents in the dough for the filling without tearing the sheet of dough. If you have problem with tearing, it is usually caused by pushing to hard with the form, or the dough recipe may need to be adjusted. Whether you want to brush water/egg around the edges prior to placing the top sheet of dough is up to you. It seals perfect every time without either. Some say the rolling pin doesn't always cut through the dough on the form. I found when going along the edges, if I tilted the rolling pin slightly along the edge, it makes a clean cut. I was amazed how easy and quickly I could make 5 dozen cheese ravioli. Great price as well.

Best Deals for Fox Run Fox Run Aluminum Ravioli Maker

I agree with the reviews that were not successful using the rolling pin. Here's a procedure I developed when teaching my kids and grandkids. When you get to the point of using the rolling pin, simply flip the entire unit over and use a Krimpcut Sealer to separate the ravioli and cut off the excess pasta. Kitchen Supply 7239 Krimpcut Sealer

Some tips for success: Liberally dust the aluminum tray with flour before laying down the first sheet of pasta. Also make sure the dough is not sticky you can also use a little flour on the side of the dough that will be in contact with the form. After the pasta is in place use the plastic form to indent and then brush the dough with beaten egg white, fill the pockets and cover with the top piece of pasta. Now instead of using the rolling pin, SWIFTLY (important to make sure everything stays together :) ) flip the whole thing over on a flour dusted surface and use the Krimpcut (which has been rolled in flour to eliminate it's sticking to the dough) to separate the ravioli and cut off excess pasta. Flouring of the tray and dough will ensure that you will easily be able to peel the form away from the pasta.

Also, very importantly, the elasticity and thickness of the dough as well as the consistency of the filling will have a huge impact on your success. These factors, unfortunately are only perfected through the old trial and error process.

The tray worked fairly well for the most part. There's 2 things I don't care for and that may get better once I get more used to it. 1. It's very light, as your trying to use your rolling pin to cut the edges the tray slides all over the place. And 2. cutting with a rolling pin is difficult. If you hold the pin at a slight angle around the outer edges it'll cut fine, but the middle does not want to cut very well, I think Michael's has a small clay roller that would make this work better.

In the lower section, there are plastic pieces that attach the upright pan guides to the front to rear rails.

These plastic pieces fail. They will fail. The sides of the mouth that snaps onto the front to rear rails will break off.

Once these are broken, of course the upright guide will no longer stay in place.

As to an organizer design, this is excellent layout and utility.

As to execution of the construction of the upright to rail joiner, this is an outright failure.

Rev-A-Shelf, fix this problem.

Make these joiners out of metal, or some really tough plastic.. probably metal would be better.

Just what the doctor ordered. No more standing on my head, digging in shifting piles of cookware. A little tricky to install though. The instructions say you only need a ruler and a phillips head screw driver, but an electric drill to drill pilot holes in the cabinet makes it a lot easier. Also, you need to practically crawl inside the cabinet to get the back set of screws in. Pretty sweet once it's in. Nice chrome finish and seems really well made. Quite sturdy and has adjustable dividers to accommodate different sized pieces of cookware. Ships from a third party vendor. The shipping charge was kind of a gauge, but it came in just a few days. Overall, worth it.

I've had this rack for four years, and I agree with everyone as far as the plastic clips go. If you're careful and make sure the pots and pans are properly stowed so the handles don't catch when you close the slide, you'll be fine. Accidents happen, and I've had three clips snap off. Spare clips are not listed on the manufacture's website, so I've written them asking if the can provide them. I'm hoping they can, since this rack is otherwise perfect and I'd really like to keep it forever. UPDATE Rev-A-Shelf has GREAT customer service. They do have replacement clips. You basically have to buy a whole new system. The upper rack that holds the lids is fine, no problems there at all. Definately a design flaw with the clips on the bottom though. Great idea, but it's a waste of cash until problem is corrected.

I didn't plan on writing a review for this product, but after reading so many that I disagree with, I think it's necessary. I've owned this pot and pan organizer for over 2 years and have had no issues with the plastic clips that hold the dividers. I think the people who are breaking them are not using the organizer properly. The metal pieces that are attached by plastic clips are only dividers, they aren't meant to hold any significant weight. The upper lid holder has dividers that the lids rest against and those are welded on. The lower ones, which are attached with plastic, slide back and forth to set the width for each pot or pan. If a spot is wider than the pot or pan you put there, it will tip and lean against the divider, which will probably break it. If you put each pot/pan in its designated spot, they should be vertical and the handles of the set support each other putting very little weight on the dividers. I've been using this organizer with a fairly heavy set of Calphalon dishes for a little over 2 years and never had any problems with the dividers breaking. This is a great organizer and makes it very easy to get my pots and pans out of an inconveniently located cabinet.
