If you have already purchased the noritake colorwave dish sets, then this sugar bowl is a great investment. The only downfall is not having a place for the sugar bowl spoon. I was hoping to not have to set a spoon next to the sugar bowl for every serving, but it really isn't that big of a deal. Otherwaise, this is a good product I would not hesitate in purchasing a second for family or friends.

I have several microwave covers I bought at Walmart and other kitchen places. None is very deep. It seems that most of the time the cover is resting directly on the food being cooked, which is pretty gross. I have been searching for a deeper cover. This cover is advertised as being 3", which is deeper than any of mine. When it arrived today, however, I find that it is actually only 2.5" deep on the outside. The finger depressions make its effective depth much less than that. Plus the finger holes are so slippery that they are almost useless for picking up the cover. Otherwise, it appears to be a fairly sturdy and well made cover. The useless finger holes and dishonest advertising are deal breakers, though.

PS: I see that this seller has changed the description of the item. It still is not accurate. The depth is actually 2.5" and if you include the finger depressions which intrude significantly on the interior, it is only 2" deep. Completely unsatisfactory for my purposes and most other users, I would think. My experience with this seller continued to be most unsatisfactory. He never admitted that his item description was misleading (although he now seems to admit it by changing it), and when I attempted to get satisfaction by having my return shipping paid, he denied responsibility and became abusive. I'd shop elsewhere.

Well here we go again...Made in China where you'd think they have Microwaves. Notice the two finger holds to "pinch" your fingers to remove it after cooking. They're ROUND! You can not lift them with these round holes, they slip right out. So you must hold the sides where it vents and is HOT! Don't WASTE YOUR MONEY! JUNK!

These work well...I was surprised to see how large they are...I have to cut or "crumple" them to fit into my French fry cones, which are standard size found at most kitchen accessory stores. I should have noticed in the picture that they are much longer on one side and I think that they stick out a little too much. Overall, I like these and they will definitely be used.

I love the size of this stockpot. I make all my own pasta and frequently feed 2-6 people. I wanted a quality stockpot that wasn't a monster but would give pasta room to move in the water. I also wanted a pot that was heavy enough that I could do some browning and build flavor without scorching for quick soups and stocks made in reasonable quantities. I just bought these glasses at a local store today. They are fine crystal glasses that have thin rims not the thick rimmed glasses that you would normally find in stores. You probably can't tell how fine and thin these are from just looking at the picture on Amazon. I have been looking for thin rimmed wine glasses with a good prices for a long time, like the nicer ones you find for $10 or more from Crate & Barrel. I am lucky to have got them at a great discount. On the bottom of each glasses, there is a very small classy etched Waterford logo and the round rim on the bottom is slightly raised. Love and highly recommend these glasses! However since these are not the cheap thick glasses, they may be more fragile them usual. I also like the sound it makes too. Press your finger to the rim while drawing it around the rim of the glass in a circle, you will get the nice singing sound.

These glasses are very nice just what I expected. I believe I bought them a little cheaper by Amazon Warehouse NEW or Like New. They arrived in perfect shape and good gift quality packaging that includes:

A blue outer box

Cardboard dividers for all four glasses

A care booklet

Snug tissue wrapping of each glass

Bubble Wrap under the tissue for the stem portion of the glassware

The only thing about the box that looks a little unexpected is the bright orange "SOLD as SET" sticker on the outside. There is also packing tape that taped it closed but I believe this is because I bought the set "like new". This is not a gift so it doesn't bother me (but even if it was.... the receiver probably would not care)

I am of thinking of giving two sets of these to my sister for mother's day (mom drinks red wine, and these are white wine glasses).

I've been wanting this set for some time. I must mention, the actual color seems more like a Burgundy oppose to that salmon-ish "red" as pictured. I prefer this burgundy-ish color, it coordinates better with the PD speckled red pots, so I was pleased either way. The wood handles are really nice and comfortable, I have other PD wood utensils that I only hand wash.

I took two stars off for the larger spoonula, the silicone feels less firm than I had expected. It's so thin/flimsy I'm afraid it might eventually rip or tear at the tip. Since they are supposed to be able to withstand some heat, I was hoping to use the larger for counter top cooking (mash potatoes, macaroni & cheese, ground beef, rice, eggs, etc). I can still do that, but I think I'll just stick to scraping cold soft mixtures just to see how they hold up for now. However, I'm still glad I purchased them.

They are great when you want to get the last of the macaroni and cheese from the dish or stubborn lasagna from the edges of the pan, even while it is still hot. The spoon spatula makes a great tool for stirring and scraping, even tasting. The heads do NOT melt when exposed to the hot food. Most of the newer pots and pans come with a non-stick coating and these spatulas work extremely well as they do NOT scratch the coatings. Cake batters don't stand a chance of sticking to the sides of the batter bowl, as you can pretty much clean them out with the spatula before washing. I recently got rid of my automatic thermal coffee maker and went to one that was plastic-free. I'd been reading a lot of articles about not cooking or heating food in plastic containers so I figured that making coffee using almost boiling water and pouring it through a plastic basket into a plastic lined pot might not be the healthiest way to go. After much searching and asking questions on Amazon discussions I found the Chemex 10 Cup Coffee Maker that made an excellent cup of coffee. The only problem was, how to keep it hot? That glass coffee maker kept it hot for all of about 10 minutes, even with the lid. So the search was on for a thermal carafe to pour the coffee into that would keep it hot for a several hours. And it had to be plastic free. So many of the ones that I looked at were stainless steel on the outside but lined in plastic. I finally came across this one that is 18/10 stainless steel both inside and out. There is a silicone ring at the top and under the lid there is a fiberglass stopper to keep the heat in. (I emailed the company to verify the materials.)

I couldn't be happier with the carafe. It keeps the coffee hot for several hours, like 4 or 5, and even after 24 hours the coffee is warm. I fill the pot up with hot water while I'm brewing my coffee like a few other reviewers recommended. Then I just dump it out when the coffee is ready and pour the coffee in. I love the way it looks, very sleek and elegant. I got the 44 ounce model. When I make 6 eight ounce cups of coffee I can get all but about half a cup into the carafe. And I always drink a cup right away, so that isn't a problem. This carafe is elegant enough that you could put it on your dinner table for a dinner party. It reminds me of the Nambe serveware type designs. It is both beautiful and functional. It has a nice balance to it and the lip flips up easily to pour. You can also flip it all the way back to fill or to clean the pot. I bought a soft bottle type brush with a large head that works really well for cleaning. And the carafe is dishwasher proof so you could put it in there if you wanted.

I'm posting some photos of the carafe, along with the Chemex Coffee Maker and the Hamilton Beach 40898 Cool-Touch Cordless 8 Cup Electric Kettle that I use to heat my water on the main product page so you can see the size of the 44 ounce model. It was kind of hard for me to visualize, so I hope this helps.

Update 12/9/12 I'm still using this carafe every day and still loving it. The finish is so durable. It's out on the counter all the time and when it gets fingerprints, they wipe off easily with a soft towel. I occasionally use a stainless steel spray cleaner, like the type you'd use for appliances. It comes out looking just like new. This is one of those products that's one of my all time favorites. It was worth the money. (I got the 44.2 oz.)

I ordered this item from Amazon and received a defective item 4 times!!! The first time, it was the handle which gets scolding hot. I called the manufacture and they told me to return the product to to the seller immediately because it is defective, so I did and Amazon sent me a replacement. But the lid was loose and didn't close snug, never mind the leak proof. So I sent it back AGAIN and Amazon gave me a refund. A month later, I placed another order hoping this time they'll send me a non-defective item. BUT Amazon sent me back the first one I returned -with a defective handle. So I returned it for a replacement. Then they sent me the second defective one I returned -with the loose lid. I tried to order a replacement but Amazon gave me refund instead saying they will review the problems. In my opinion, if Amazon has defective items in stock, they should set those aside and NOT send them to anther customer hoping they won't notice. I hope no one has to go through this ordeal. Until Amazon gets non-defective items in stock, I urge you to wait before you place your order.

This carafe is even better than I expected. I use it to keep my tea hot throughout the morning. After brewing a pot, I pour it in this carafe and it stays piping hot for about four hours. Even after six or eight hours, it is still hot enough that I am not even temped to microwave it. I have tried things after 12 hours and they are still warm -but not hot enough that I wouldn't rather nuke it for a bit to drink. If you want it to stay hotter longer, prefill the pot with hot water prior to filling it with coffee or tea. It definitely works better than the expensive Zojirushi airpot that I purchased. It takes up less counter space, and looks good. It is also completely dishwasher safe. You just can't beat it.

This is a really pretty carafe. It also keeps my coffee hot for a long time. I kept poking a thermometer in it the first time I used it. Without preheating it with hot water, after an hour, it was down to 170F, after 4 hours it was down to 140F with it full. The next morning, it was down to 100F but that was almost 24 hours later. I'm sure it would perform better with pre-heating and if I hadn't opened it to get the temps. Under normal use, it keeps my coffee piping hot for the 4 or so hours I usually drink it.

It has a nice self sealing insulated top but I can feel heat around the top while it is cool on the body outside. It is a gravity seal so it won't stay sealed if the carafe is tipped over.

I got tired of my Oxo carafes not keeping the coffee hot so decided to spend the money to get a good carafe. I'm not disappointed.

I have a love-hate relationship with these carafes. After all, how could you not love something so beautiful and elegant looking? Then, consider the easy care! Pop in the dishwasher and they are ready to go, right?

Actually, I have a word of caution when putting these in the dishwasher... Make sure that the top doesn't slip through the rack, thus interfering with the spinning water shower. The first time I put one in the dishwasher, I was puzzled that the load of dishes just weren't as clean as they usually are. While unloading, I noticed that the top on one of the upside down carafes had gone between the rack grate and was hanging down just enough to stop the shower mechanism.

While that's a pretty minor thing, the way the top pops open when pouring hot beverages can be down right dangerous. On more than one occasion friends have had the carafe in pouring position, and then hot coffee wound up all over the place as a result of the pressure build up when the carafe is less than half full. It's sort of hard to explain in words, which is why I hope that someone considering this product will take the time to watch the video.

Still, they are lovely to look at and keep liquids hot for an acceptable length of time. I use the small one for cold creamer or milk on hot days while on the deck having coffee. It's also a wonderful size because it can hold a generous mug full of coffee, for a breakfast in bed.

I use them all the time, for me personally, I like them very much. It's just that if I use them while entertaining, I take care that I am the one serving from them. It's always nice to avoid third-degree burns at dinner parties. Kind of a buzz kill.

UPDATE: As careful as I am with these....it happened anyway. I had coffee in one and without following my own advice, I poured a cuppa. The vacuum made the top stick, and hot coffee went everywhere. My hand, the tablecloth, what a mess! I think I'll use them only for water from now on. COOL water.

Ok,so i was unsure about this filter. i purchased it exclusively to remove solids after frying french fries. i was unsure what to expect, did not even buy the filter stand (unitasker).

I had an large empty tin can of pineapple juice, cut a 1" hole on the bottom with a bi-metal hole saw, put the filter in it, poured the oil in the can and it worked like a charm.

i had another person hold the can over the vessel which would house the used oil, but it was super quick, clean, efficient. the filter is great and it captured everything from the canola oil. oh, the oil was room temperature, as well..

will buy again when i run out.

The handle is a bit long and heavy and so it doesn't want to sit flat. Also the handle is metal and connects very conductively with the base and gets very hot.

I bought this to replace a kettle that I bought 10 years ago for $10 that just decided to start leaking.

This takes a good deal longer to get to a boil and when it starts to whistle it will immediately spew like Daffy Duck.

The plastic of the lid has already cracked so I am sure I will be reviewing another kettle soon.

The handle is nice as it gives you some distance from the kettle and doesn't get hot.

I cannot say that I love it, but I dont hate it either.

This item came in black. I ordered and re-ordered it in this beautiful yellow to simulate the one my mother got from Switzerland and remind me of the Swiss Cheese Fondue I had growing up. On the flip side since there was this order Amazon provided adequate resolution and I have used the pot a few times.

I am pleased that it works as well as my mothers as now after a unique incident I have both pots. One disappointment is in the burner. I use sterno and the bottom piece that connects to the middle piece does not stay on very well. I would have preferred a slightly higher construction quality on the burner. The other items, The stand, base and forks are all elegant and sturdy enough.

I would recommend this product to a new buyer however be very cautious that even if the package says it is the Golden color you will probably receive it in a black matte.

i have mine for about three months now and absolutely love it. I have used several ridiculously expensive nonstick Scanpans and also have several All-Clad 3-ply and 5-ply pans and none of them can perform as good as this inexpensive De Buyer. All-Clad stainless steel pans are great, but sticks like superglue. Scanpans do not last anywhere as long as advertised. The de Buyer is nonstick like a good old seasoned cast iron while being easier to handle. It heats up fast and evenly. It does rust and require more maintainence and care compared to other pans, but the extra work is definitely worth it.

If you enjoy cooking and are serious about your pans, this should be a valuable addition to your kitchen.

The pan really does caramelize the food, respond well, etc. Almost seems to be able to concentrate the stove's heat, which is great if your stove isn't super powerful but you are trying to cook big portions.
