I bought this pan after returning from a trip to Barcelona where I took a cooking class (among other things). The chef used all Fundix pans and swore by them. I was so happy to see Amazon carried the brand. This size pan is perfect for an omelet, it's lightweight, and non stick. I would highly recommend it. Anyone who has seen me use the pan, wants one!

The last time i bought a bread knife, it was 5 bucks at some general store and it was so aggressively serrated and its edge so wide, that it tore up my cutting board and destroyed whatever i was slicing. I think i used it two times before i stopped using it. What a waste of 5 bucks! So for about three years, i used my global santoku for cutting bread (which, let's not lie to ourselves, actually works pretty well *once* you penetrate the crust). Where i was having problems, though, was with slicing up consistent slices of more fragile breads like brioche or really wide loaves of ciabatta that i was buying. For fresh sourdough loaves, a sharp chef's knife works pretty well, though.

I still own a wasabi santoku that i bought in 2006 when i did a stint as a line cook. The knives aren't fancy, but i've definitely put mine through its paces and it's still my go-to knife even though i have much nicer ones at hand. This bread knife is no different in quality. It actually looks like with the Wasabi Black they really went upscale, so you have a bread knife with the aesthetic and engineering of a Shun proper, but with the nondescript stainless steel of those restaurant style bread knives.

In particular, the edge is sharp, but it's not wide, so you can actually get really accurate and thin slices of bread in once slice, if that's how you roll. I noticed other people here talking about using it for carving, which, now that i think about it, makes sense. The knife definitely handles like a slicer, but it's serrated *just enough* to grip bread, but not enough to saw away at whatever you're cutting, so you really have a sharp knife that's serrated enough to poke through really aggressive crusts. I haven't tried carving a bird with this knife, but i'm not surprised that others have had good results.

I had originally considered a more expensive bread knife, but now that seems criminal. I can imagine a more expensive knife would *look awesome* in some way i can't even imagine, but i can't imagine it performing any better than this one.

Some breads have a very hard crust. You can use a bread knife with sharp pointed serrations. But if the inside of the loaf is soft and moist, this kind of knife will tear the bread. The Kai Wasabi black bread knife has sine-wave style teeth that are very sharp, thus it cuts beautifully no matter what texture or mix of textures your dealing with. This is the best one!!

I have a 20-year-old el-cheapo laser-cut bread knife that I have dreaded replacing, as it cuts the smoothest of any bread knife I've ever had. I have tried various replacement knives over the years, but all have had those huge serrations and mangled the bread more than cut it. However, I do believe I've finally found a reasonable replacement! This knife cuts fresh bread quite nicely, and doesn't leave a million crumbs all over the cutting board.

It has a very unusual serration style which is a series of flowing curves instead of sharp points, and a plastic oval handle that is just rough enough so that it doesn't slip in your hands as you use it (a kind of rough velvet texture). My only concern is that if I ever have to have it sharpened, I will probably have to send it away, as the serration style is so unusual. Unlike my Shun knives, nothing came with the knife to say where I could get the knife resharpened if needed, so I would be at a loss. This concern is the reason I did not give 5 stars for the knife.

Even with that taken into account, for the price this is probably the best bread knife you'll find, so I recommend getting it.

Honest reviews on Kai Wasabi Black Bread Knife, 9-Inch

Very large knife 14 1/2 " with handle. And a 9" blade. Extremely sharp. Cuts through crusty bread with no problem. Will handle any job you need a serrated knife to do. I have the Shun Classic knifes , but figured a bread knife didn't need to be $129. Very glad I bought the cheaper version.Highly recommend!

The Kai Wasabi bread knife is an absolute steal of a deal for the knife-obsessed foodie and less-nonsense person alike. From its long-lasting, well-cutting serrations to its dishwasher-safe construction and low price-tag, it outperforms other stamped-steel bread knives while costing less and often looking better.

A very light steeling on the non-ground side will keep the edge fresh for months on end when it eventually needs sharpening, the corner of a hard sharpening stone or using a Spyderco Sharpmaker will bring it back for several more months of service.

If you don't own a bread knife and don't want to spend the massive bucks on a Gude or instruct every user to hand wash and hand dry the knife after every use to avoid harming the steel or handle, but you still want to impress yourself and all other consumers of baked goods, this is the knife to use.

Review of Rack It Up Oval Pot Rack

Enclume MPO-01wg RACK IT UP Oval Ceiling Pot Rack
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

This pot rack is very nice quality and easy to install. However the picture on Amazon's page shows it without the interior grid and suggests that people who bought the rack also purchased the grid and ceiling trim covers. The rack DOES come with the grid but we did need the trim covers. The trim covers are very important since it makes for a much nicer finish. Amazon was very quick to take care of our "extra" ordered grid. A+ to Amazon Customer Service. Thanks Ria for being so efficient and curteous!

I researched for a long time for a rack that would fit my space but still have enough storage space. I was very happy with this purchase. the one I got is actually alittle different design but essentailly the same product. love my rack and love how much space is freed up in my small kitchen with not alot of space for storage. It was a little bit of a pain to put together but it was worth it. There a few steps that you almost have to have a 2nd person to hold as you piece togehter. I paid about $20 more at Kohls but thats okay it was the cheapest I could find it at the time. I have owned this for about 4 months and I am very happy with it.

The only true negative with this rack is the anchor styem. I had to call the company twice and they do not answer questions about the Toggler anchorsyou have to call a seperate company. I also had to call a plaster specialist about advice weither or not the Toggler could be used in my ceiling. The Toggler is meant for HOLLOW wall space. After talking a plaster guy and told him about my wall space and year built it was determined that I do have hollow space and could use the anchor system. make sure you aviod beams cause it will not work. After drilling 1/2 inch in my ceiling I put the anchor in and I must not have broke it off correctly because it was stuck and not in the correct position. I again called the company and asked for advice. They sent me TWO new togglers and there apologies. When they arrived, within only a few days, I was told to just use something to push the old one up and into the ceiling and put the new one. So I did and once again it broke incorrectly!! Frustrated and down to my last Toggler I gave it more shot and SUCCESS!! It was a bit of a pain to get up but I love it. Make sure you just KNOW where are gonna hang and have read ALL the directions, especially realted to togglers, before hanging. If you do this you will be much happier. But if you make mistakes, like I did, know the company(s) are very helpful and will do anything they can to help you figure it out!! I thought the togglers seemed flimsy at first but after now fully understanding the designed, they actaully are pretty ingenious and I have no doubt that they will hold the weight they claim. The rack does shift weight when take off and put on new pots/pans, made me nervous first time it happens but its just redisributing weight and once again NO PROBLEMS. I know its a long review but I wish I had known the info and i help someone! All and all a great purchase on a budget, looks great and works great!!

I was really skeptical of the installation system but decided to try and I'm glad I did. It was easy to install and looks great in my kitchen. I've hung several skippers, lids and pots on it without trouble!

I would recommend the decorative covers as well. They give it a nice finished look.

Honest reviews on Rack It Up Oval Pot Rack

I love the quick anchor system this rack uses. I have over 10 pots and pans hanging at all times and two of those pans are the heavy cast iron pans. The center is great for hanging long spoons and serving forks. Comes with plenty of hooks to hang items but I bought the extra hooks and I use them all. I get no end of compliments of this rack and for the cost it can't be beat.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Rack It Up Oval Pot Rack

I have an 8-foot ceiling, so I ordered the additional low ceiling arms (I've included a photo). The pot rack is well-made and solid, and the instructions are pretty straightforward. There's a Snaptoggle drywall anchor installation video at toggler.com that's helpful in getting the provided drywall toggles installed right. Be sure to raise the movable plastic bolt on the toggler all the way up as far as it will go after you've drilled your 1/2 inch hole, and drawn the anchor on the toggler to the perpendicular position on the inside of the hole. Otherwise, it will just spin when you try to secure the rack to the ceiling with provided hardware bolts or hooks, and you'll have to buy another toggler set at Lowe's and repeat the procedure. That said, if you have 5/8" drywall in your ceiling, each anchor point supports 356 lbs., which is pretty impressive. I'm giving this item a 4-Star rating rather than 5 for 2 reasons: 1) I really don't like the regular-angled cookware hooks: I think all the provided hooks should be bent-angled so as to accommodate more pots/pans on the rack. As it is, you get 6 of each type (regular vs. bent-angled). 2) You get 2 separate grille sections, each 6" wide, with 3 movable bars to "secure" them to the rack...and that's it. The grille sections "slide," as there's no provided hardware to otherwise fasten them together, to the rack or the support bars, necessitating your doing the task yourself with wires, plastic clips etc. Not sure why the manufacturer doesn't provide a single 12 by 22" grille and some type of fastener, but I'm otherwise and altogether pleased with the product!

This 1 1/2-Quart Round Casserole with Lid is a small but practical-sized dish to add to a Le Creuset collection. I'm a longtime collector of Le Creuset pots and pans, and 'flame' is my favorite color for them. I love the new Poterie stoneware line: baking dishes, ramekins, pitcher, and the crock for utensils. The colors are great, and they match the pots and pans perfectly. I use this red casserole dish when serving family-style at the table, and it's perfect for storing frozen or refrigerated casseroles for quick reheating on busy weeknights. These Poterie dishes coordinate especially well with Fiestaware dishes and serveware, and they make colorful additions to festive buffets. They are freezer-safe, microwave-safe, ovenproof up to 500 degrees F., and can go in the dishwasher.

This is to second another review here. This item, while beautiful, is not up to the usual Le Creuset standards (and I own 8 or 9 other Le Creuset pieces, with which I am quite happy). The lid on this casserole is loose, and however arranged, is never even close to a snug fit. If I hadn't thrown away the box, I would return it.

This item is not made in France, but made in Thailand. The lid is NOT tight fitting, quite the opposite really. Still the pot looks nice, and is a good size for one or two person stews.

How to make perfect roast chicken in the perfect little pot: I use kosher chickens because they taste yummier. I take the skin off the chicken, which is disgusting, but really worth it. Preheat the oven to 500F, Put a little olive oil in the bottom of the pot, and make a basting sauce of a couple tablespoons of olive oil and a couple of tablespoons of fino sherry wisked together with a couple of grinds from the pepper grinder. (You don't need salt because kosher chicken is salted.) Rinse the chicken in cold running water, especially in the cavity and pat it dry with clean paper towels, especially in the cavity. Put the chicken breast side up in the pot and grind some pepper over it. Dribble most of basting sauce over it and flip it so the breast meat is in contact with the bottom of the pot. Grind some pepper over the second side and dribble the remaining sauce over it. Roast in the oven for about 25 minutes until the breast starts to brown. Baste the chicken at 10 minutes, a baste and check for brownness at 20 minutes. When the breast looks crisp and brown, flip the chicken and turn the oven down to 325F. It won't need much longer in the oven until the thighs are about 160F. The pot is light and easy to handle while it's hot, and cleans up with a little scrubbing from a 3M scrubby sponge and a night in the dishwasher. Quite a perfect little pot!

My wife an I have purchased many pieces of Le Creuset cookware over the years but I think we may need to start looking elsewhere. This piece of stoneware cracked after about 12 months of normal use (and frankly it's happened to several of our recently purchased Le Creuset pieces) the quality doesn't seem to be there any longer not sure if they are cutting costs or what but it is really a disappointing. Don't waste your money.

I have only owned it for 6 weeks, so I can't address long term qualities. It is a fairly heavy pan. The balance is good (ie the handle weight doesn't make it unsteady on the burner like one fry pan I have). The non-stick surface has worked well so far. The lid fits tight. I like the lid being glass. Someone complained the lid doesn't have a vent. I prefer no vent unless its closable. I can set the lid off center if I want it venting. The pan won't make you a good cook, but if you have some skills, it will help you achieve your goal. Compared to other non-stick pans I have used, I consider it to be decent quality. At the price, its a bargain. I sought it out after reading a cooking website review. Oh, last point. Unlike my cast iron skillet which I still continue to use faithfully, the pan's handle and lid's handle remain quite cool while in use. Very good design. Happy cooking!

Update February 2013: I still have this pan and use it constantly. It is still in great condition.

We love our eggs and raise our own chickens. Prior to this every pan we've tried has stuck and omelettes have been a mess. Not with this one. Gorgeous, non stick pan and we have not seasoned it once. Cleans up in a jiff with warm water and a sponge. Love it!!

Best Deals for Simply Calphalon Nonstick 10-Inch Covered Omelette Pan

I purchased this Simply Calphalon Nonstick 10-inch Covered Omlette Pan in June, 2009, and it worked really well for about six months: it heated evenly and released eggs easily. I used it only once or twice a week, mostly for omelettes, and always with a nylon spatula. After a year, however, the non-stick surface had pitted in many places, and by mid-January, 2011, I had worn away a bare metal patch the size of a credit card. That is poor performance for a $40 pan, so I replaced it with a T-Fal Professional Total Nonstick 10 inch saute pan, manufacture's model number E9380564, at only $28 from Amazon. The T-Fal pan was well reviewed by Cooks Illustrated, and it looks good so far, but I'll wait and see how it holds up. [I added the manufacture's model number because it is very confusing to figure out which T-Fal pan is which; they all have similar names.]

Honest reviews on Simply Calphalon Nonstick 10-Inch Covered Omelette Pan

video gives you a good idea of the size. I've always used nonstick pans, and have had good results in the past with Calphalon. the main thing to remember with any non-stick pan is do NOT use aerosol spray type oils. that will ruin the nonstick surface quickly. keep in mind also that this pan is not the top of the line pan. the Calphalon pans with the stainless steel handles are of higher quality. I bought this particular pan because I wanted a 10" size, and the Calphalon Unision wasn't offered at a reasonable price when I purchased this pan. this is an inexpensive no-frills lightweight pan that has a nice touch. Overall, I like it.

I wish I could rate this as high as the others have but I simply can't. This is my second one and on both, I lost a bit of the non-stick surface. Both times it was frying italian sausage under medium high heat. Worked great up to that point.

Perked coffee is old school, to be sure, but a well-made cup of percolated brew is robust and satisfying in a way that drip coffee isn't. Not only does the percolation process provide a deeper and fuller mouth, I think, but a percolator, bubbling away, is a lovely sight and sound.

If you don't like perked coffee, don't bother with any percolator. But if you are interested in something other than drip brew, consider this Farberware percolator. I'm not one to ooh and ahh over design, but this is a darned handsome piece of kitchen equipment. Take a look and the large picture and I will spare you the adjectives. :)

The stainless steel construction makes it sturdier and heftier than thin-metal percolators you might buy in the camping gear section of a chain store. While the name "Yosemite" evokes coffee bubbling over a campfire, I'd probably not use this on a wood fire to avoid blackening. I mean, this thing really is shiny and pretty. But as heavy-duty as it is, perhaps it would clean up well.

It's a capacious pot, making eight cups of coffee. The interior basket and rod are well made, fitting tightly together and clamping in place with the lock-down lid. It makes more coffee than my old electric percolator, but it does take up a burner on the stove-top.

Lastly, should you buy this unit, remember: Perked coffe may be good, but it's a danged sight hotter than drip brew. Of course, you'll probably figure that out for yourself...

I have never had a percolator before I bought this Farberware percolator. I have always had drip coffee makers, which were ok, but expensive and I was trying to get away from plastic in the kitchen. I read all the reviews here and decided at this price I couldn't really go wrong and I was right. The Yosemite percolator makes a very smooth cup of coffee.

A few things I have learned:

Coarser ground coffee leaves less residue in the pot.

I use a regular coffee filter and just poke a hole through the middle to stop any grounds from getting into the coffee.

I turn my burner on high until it starts percolating, then down to med-low for approximately 7 minutes.

I make sure my handle is not on top of the burner, but rather, just over the edge and it has never gotten hot. I have a smooth top range.

After the coffee is done brewing, I pour it into a stainless steel thermos to drink throughout the day.

I hand wash my percolator and have had no discoloration or scratching to the surface.

You really can't go wrong with this purchase and it is really pretty sitting on the stove, too. I bought another one for camping.

During Hurricane Isabel I had no electricity and was able to make great coffee on my gas stove with this percolator. I use it daily now.

I found a replacement for the plastic top at Fantes.com -part #11380, "Small Replacement Percolator Glass Top" for $1.99.

see:If you wash it in the dishwasher, don't use the "heated dry" option as it will leave permanent water stains. Also, I found that this coffee is reheatable [once] and still tastes good, not muddy.

Honest reviews on Meyer Cookware 50124 Yosemite Percolator, Stainless Steel, 8-Cup

Bought this percolator because it doesn't require paper filters--and out of nostalgia. In my mom's kitchen back in the 60's, there was always a pot of coffee brewing in her electric percolator. The smell of the coffee was heavenly. Read reviews on this page about this percolator and people repeatedly complained of the plastic top melting and stripping and such, so I ordered a glass top at the same time I bought the pot--which works great.

After using the percolator for about a month, I have concluded that people are cranking up the heat to speed up the water heating process, and overheating it. Have found that converting from my superfast gigantic Bunn coffeemaker back to this old method, I have had to slow down and accomodate the extra time it takes to heat the brew. Figured that the extra 20+ minutes it takes is no big deal and I work it into the routine in the morning as I do other things. This percolator is from another era--a slower-paced time, and if it is used with care, it will last for years. One other thing--I always set a timer when I put the coffee on, as I tend to get sidetracked.

Oh--and the coffee tastes great!

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Meyer Cookware 50124 Yosemite Percolator, Stainless Steel, 8-Cup

This is my first percolator. I originally bought it as a spacesaver. I have virtually no counterspace in my kitchen and thought it could just stay on my stove, which it does nicely (and it looks nice!). Thankfully, it comes with instructions, for those people like me who have no idea how to brew coffee this way.

I am very impressed with the flavor of the coffee, previously having only made coffee from drip makers and I enjoy not having to bother with filters. A small amount of the ground does end up in the coffee, but it sinks and doesn't affect my enjoyment of it at all... just don't drink the very last bit :) Also the handle stays nice and cool like you'd hope, but you definitely have to be careful not to touch the pot itself. It will burn, as you'd expect any steel pot that just came off the stove to do.

Now, the reason it only got four stars is due to the top. The plastic top of mine is usable, but deformed and difficult to screw in and keep screwed in. I can only assume that this is because it melted slightly early on (I don't remember receiving it that way). It hasn't gotten any worse and I have been using it for at least a year. I don't consider this a deal breaker though, since replacement tops can be bought at any kitchen store for fairly cheap. The lid, as other reviewers have noted, requires a small amount of force to take off. This actually makes me comfortable. I'm not worried that the lid may come off while the coffee is brewing, but that's me. I've never had a problem trying to get it off, but I also don't take the lid off til I'm ready to clean it, so I've never had the experience of being burned because it is on too tight.

Overall I really enjoy this product. It's a great price and as far as I'm concerned, its only shortcoming is a plastic top that can easily be replaced.

Boy did I spend a lot of time looking through all the cookbook stands on this site. I'm VERY happy with this purchase. This is durable, wont fall over even with large books, holds large books and small books and even just a piece of paper. I'm not much of a rooster person, this is my first and only rooster in my kitchen, but I think it adds such a fun whimsy to my kitchen. It sits on my island, so it's center of the kitchen. If I know what I'm going to cook that night, then I put the recipe on the stand for the whole day and it actually gets me motivated to cook! If I have no recipe planned for the near future, then I just sit a pretty cookbook on the stand and it still motivates my wanting to cook. Oh, and I love having my recipe upright and in front of my face while I'm cooking! No more sitting it on the counter, where it gets all dirty and I have to constantly look down and find my place. Having it upright and in front of your face really DOES make it easier!!

I just wanted to add this...3 YEARS later...I still love this and everything I wrote above still holds true :) Such a great buy!

This is an attractive cookbook holder. It also appears to be sturdy. That said, it was a "no go" for me because only small to moderate sized cookbooks will fit in it. Since many of my favorite books are large and jumbo sized I need something with a larger capability.

A nice looking, nicely constructed holder but make sure it suits your needs before ordering.

This stand is great -it will accommodate both large and small cookbooks. I just put it on my kitchen island when cooking and the book pages stay open perfectly. No matter how big the cookbook, it doesn't lean or topple. When ready to store, I pull in the stand and usually will place a cookbook in the cookbook holder part-then slip it in my bookcase. Really nice and suits my needs!

Silverstone by Farberware Culinary Colors 13-Piece Cookware Set, Metallic Silver
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I've had this cookware since January of 2005. I have the metallic black color. I cook a lot, so the pans do have some scratches on the outside, but after six and a half years, I would expect scratches to some degree. I don't care what they put on the outside of the box, non-stick cookware should never ever ever go in the dishwasher. If you have to use the dishwasher, then turn off the drying cycle. if the pan gets too hot the non-stick surface will chip off. Also you should only use medium or low heat settings. I would not recommend heating the pans in the oven and if you must, no greater than 250 degrees or again the non-stick coating will chip. Also, you should never use non-stick cooking sprays or oils in a non-stick pan. For some reason, doing so will cause the non-stick surface to bubble up over time. The air bubbles will eventually pop causing the non-stick surface to flake and chip. I had owned stainless steel before I owned these and the problem with stainless steel was cleaning burnt pans and getting all the crusty stuff off. Also when you use pans that are entirely stainless steel the handles get as hot as the pan and you'll need an oven mitt to touch the pan without burning your hand and getting a nasty blister. But, you can use all the non-stick spray you want and you can use the dishwasher and metal utensils.

Unfortunately the listing didn't say that it was for an 8" pot. I was trying to fit a 8 qt, 10" pot. Amazon was amazing and credited my account for the total price I paid. It is too bad that it didn't fit because the lid is really well made and nice looking. I will continue to shop with Amazon in the future. They go out of their way to make sure that you are happy with your purchase and always fix a problem if there is one.

I am excited, to do a review, on these new Emeril Smoker Bags from Camerons products.

First thing I noticed when opened was the bag is very big and hold a lot of meat, fish, vegies, pork, whatever you want to get some smoke on.

This smoker bag, will work in the oven ,on the grill ,or over coals on a campfire.

The 3 ply makeup of this bag , includes a separate chamber ,with hickory chips, syrup, and sugars ,that mskes the smoke ,that travels, into the other part of the bag where the food is and imparts a moist, smokey, flavor, that takes whatever is in the bags taste, to a new level.

Once you remove the food ,you fold, and toss, the smoker bag, in the garbage ,it's that easy. I highly recommend this bag ,because it is so easy to use ,and you end up with a very flavorful, finished, product.

I hope this review, is informative ,and entertaining ,and will help you make an informed buying decision.

Excellent craftsmanship! Worth the price! Unique ceramic enamel color! Only flaw would be that it has a good amount of weight throughout pan.

I got this skillet to replace the La Creuset skillet of the same size that I had purchased back in 1983. It lasted that long and would have lasted longer had I not abused it and ruined the finish. I have every expectation of having this one last another 30 years.

Great skillet, exactly what I was expected from Le Creuset.

But cheaper than in Williams-Sonoma

Unfortunately doesn`t come with a lid.

This Le Creuset 101/4" Caribbean colored skillet is so beautiful. It arrived in perfect condition. I've been wanting this item for a long time. Thanks to Amazon, I was able to find it when other vendors had sold out.

I just got my cooker last weekend and have used it for 4 different types of risotto. All were perfectly cooked and the warmer gives a little breathing room between the end of cooking and serving.

I also used it for plain rice. It also turned out perfectly. I like the sauté feature too. Makes 1 less pan to clean.

I will probably not use it for slow cooking roasts because it is too small. I would use it for stews though.

I do find the interior pot to be cheaply made, but then I am used to my ALL CLAD slow cooker that has a heavy aluminum pan.

I really don't care about anything but the risotto making ability. It saves me time and produces wonderfully cooked risotto.

I was highly skeptical that this appliance would actually make good risotto without all the stirring that is generally required. Well, I was very pleasantly surprised. The risotto came out perfect with one single stir. And the Breville allows you to saute the onion, garlic or meat prior to making the risotto, all in the same pot. Awesome.

I think this is a wonderful machine, and a great value for the price.

I've used it as a slow cooker, a steamer, and a risotto maker. It's a little disconcerting not to be able to set a timer on it, but each time the results have been wonderful. The risotto is just as good as the risotto I produce on the stovetop.

I disagree with the critics who say it is cheap and flimsy; I think that to make it lightweight and an efficient conductor of temperatures, it needs to be exactly what it is. Frankly, I'm delighted not to have to deal with a heavy ceramic bowl such as my larger slow cooker has.

I'm glad I bought this and would recommend it.

Honest reviews on Breville BRC600XL The Risotto Plus Sauteing Slow Rice Cooker

I bought this cooker for the rice and steam features, also because of a larger capacity.

This cooker works well for steaming vegetables and to sauté them. It is definitely not my favorite for cooking rice, I have cooked long grain and short grain rice in it, also "Mexican" rice. Every time I have used it for rice, the bottom comes out scorched. I have a rice cooker and never have had this problem.

I own the pie maker, and variable hot water pot from breville and love them.

To say that I love this appliance is an under statement. It makes wonderful risotto. Now, you still need to do some work; it is not instant. However, it saves time, and the risotto is great.

The handles melted off after one use. if you want to keep using these, take off the rubber handles that are supposed to be silicone.

I loved this pan when I first got it, it worked very well, but after just a few months the non stick surface is bubbling and peeling. Too late to return it, so I will have to throw it out.

One of the rubber handles burst into flames at 450 degrees and then lit the rest of the chicken I had in the pan on fire too, had huge flames coming out of my oven and smoke billowing out the top. Had to turn off everything and beat the flames out with a towel because we don't have a fire extinguisher. Now my whole apartment smells like burning rubber and smoke. Dangerous and cheap!

Honest reviews on Rachael Ray Oven Lovin' Rectangle Nonstick Bakeware

I am updating this review after owning the pan for not quite a year and a half...I just noticed the nonstick coating is starting to peel off...right along the sides of the pan where the food typically comes to. Very disappointing as I was impressed with these pans and have only used them as directed. Glad I never got around to replacing my other pans!

Previous Review:

I waited to review this pan until I've had it awhile. I love it! It's lightweight but sturdy, and it cleans up beautifully. I've been sure to only use nylon or wooden utensils to be sure not to scratch it. Not sure about the review that says the handles melt--I've been using this pan at typical temperatures--350-450--and have had absolutely no problem. Now I'm looking to replace the rest of my pans with this line of bakeware.

Wife has used this pan for several cakes and thus far seems to cook very evenly and never sticks. It is a little on the heavy side, but you get what you pay for. Definitely not a cheaply made pan, it is very heavy duty.
