I can't remember how long I've been wanting a three tine fork. There are very few out there. I've seen some on restaurant web supply sites but you have to order a lot of them. The ones I've used in restaurants have been with a dull matte finish. These are bright and shiny and have a decent heft about them. The scimitar shaped blade on the place knife was a welcome surprise as well. I only bought one place setting to see if I like them and boy do I. Can't wait to get the matching hostess set and iced tea spoons.

I want to buy a whole set for 12. I really like the weight and the feel. I have arthritis in my hands and these feel so comfortable in my hands and don't hurt them. I also like the heaftiness of the knife and the depth of the spoons. They are very clean, neat, and give a feeling of old world charm.

Only four of these Nesco American Harvest Trays came with my Nesco FD1020 Gardenmaster Dehydrator. I was only able to make 1.5 pounds of beef jerky strips with four trays. Since my dehydrator can dry 20 trays of food, I knew I had to buy more. If you only need two of these, by all means get it from Amazon. However, if you need a dozen to increase your dehydrator's capacity (like I did when I first bought my FD1020), check out Sears online. You can get a 12-pack for under ninety dollars. That's about seven dollars and fifty cents each tray. You'll be a lot happier with your dehydrator's capacity!

Pros:

It Fits.

The color matches.

Cons:

Has only 80 ribs instead of 144 (like the original); this makes the screen noticeably flimsier, and will allow small pieces of food to fall through.

With the original screen, the biggest end of the opening is about 5 mm wide; with the Add-A-Tray, that gap is more than doubled, to 11 mm (enough to get a fingertip through).

I thought the price was already too high, but in the 10 days since I ordered it, the price has gone up another five and a half percent.

The center ring is different; it allows the screens to deflect more (if you were to drop the lid on them or something)--just another chance to break.

Why was it necessary to redesign them to save 5¢ worth of plastic? Why can't they simply sell ones identical to the original (which is what you would expect to get)?

I'm not sending it back, but I'm glad I didn't buy ten. I'm a little reluctant to give it two stars instead of one because I know things are going to fall through the larger openings.

It will work in the 1020 but it is not the correct tray to match the origionals. It does not have the locking tangs in the outside rim to lock tray in place the the center is half th height of the origional and does not match the serated edges on the 1020 OEM trays. It may be perfect for the 1010 and 1018 but I am not familiar with thiose units but it is not the correct unit for the FD-1020

Could fit a better with the older version trays, but it works. Less mesh work, which while allows for quicker drying, is more flexible and will get 'unlevel'. But works fine.

We ordered two new trays and screens. The new trays are terrible compared to the originals that came with our FD-1000. The new trays are not as strong and feel like they will break very easily. They no longer have the tall center post, strong ribs and have fewer ribs.

We called NESCO and they said this is their new design. The old design is no longer available. We are very dissatisfied with the new design.

My girlfriend had been giving me a hard time about the teflon coating peeling from the bottom of my old cookware and we decided to go stainless. What a great decision. These pots and pans are what I wanted. Now to the review complaining about stainless steel being stained, you have to wash them or at least rinse them out promptly if making tea or any other thing like that. If you do get a stain, use bar keeper's friend and it comes out or like the pamphlet says boil some water/vinegar mixture.

We got stainless because it's healthier than non stick and the one time we had a non stick set the non stick peeled off. Really happy I got what I did for 149 bucks.

I had high hopes for this skillet: deep, with a clear glass lid, and nonstick. Unfortunately, the bottom warped when I had it on low heat on my glass cooktop stove. This meant it was no longer in contact with part of the burner. It's going back. I have a great Farberware 12" nonstick skillet (with no lid) that is shallower and heavier; it is the "Classic Stainless Steel" but the nonstick coating was wearing off. I can't find the pan anymore although it's not that old.

I was looking for a 30 qt stainless steel pot for canning (I will use it for multiple purposes--sometimes to make acidic soups/sauces, etc., so a cheaper aluminum pot wouldn't fit the bill). This was the best price I could find anywhere online and much cheaper than my local restaurant supply. The lid fits great, love the double riveted handles--very sturdy. My one beef is that the bottom is not as thick/solid as I would like--when filled up, the metal is thin enough that the bottom will bow out (even when it's empty, you can "ping" the bottom in and out by pushing on the middle of it)--made me a bit nervous when it was loaded and I hope the bottom doesn't eventually wear through in the areas where it rests on gas burner grates. Fortunately, the box advertises a 5 year warranty--I plan to put it through the wringer with canning, so I'll how it holds up in the long term.

Well, we wanted waffles and that's what we got with this waffle maker. It works as advertised. Nothing fancy here. Plug it in, make the batter and by the time you're done mixing the batter, the ready light is off and you pour your first waffle. Takes about 4 minutes per waffle and they come out moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. And they don't stick. I don't use any spray or butter on the non-stick surfaces. So, we are happy with our waffles.

UPDATE 11/8/09: It's been eight years and this waffle maker is still going strong. We use it about once a week and it has never failed to delight us with great waffles. And it's easy to clean too.

UPDATE 8/12/12: Still working great although my doctor says I should cut back on the waffles. I don't think so.

I've had this waffle maker for several years and it makes THE BEST waffles! They are crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth moist on the inside. It also is great for people who don't have a lot of space in their kitchen. It stands upright for storage. Also, what makes this waffle maker rate above others is the fact that it is VERY easy to clean! Other waffle irons can be hard to clean because the batter will ooze out and into little hard to reach spots and then you have to wait for it to cool and try to wipe it out somehow. I've owned other waffle makers before that did this. There's still dried out, old batter from places that were impossible to clean out! The Proctor Silex one does not have this problem. I practically don't even have to clean it! After I'm done, I'll wipe it gently with a paper towel, and that's about it! This combined with the fact that the Proctor Silex waffle maker also makes better waffles than other brands makes this the best one on the market.

This is a great basic waffle iron. It does have an indicator light to tell you when it's ready for the batter. I've seen other irons with timers or lights to indicate when the waffles are done, but I've used this one dozens of times and never burned a waffle yet. The non stick surface is easy to clean and the waffles turn out perfect, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I actually use this much more than I thought I would...the kids love them!

I bought this exact waffle maker more than 10 years ago, and it's still working! We use it about 2-3 times a week, and it has cooked well over 4,000 waffles. This is a big statement to quality, in my opinion, in a world where almost all products are manufactured to break just after their warranty ends. My model doesn't have any fancy bells and whistles -just a light to indicate when it's heating, no settings other than "on" and "off" via plugged in or not, and crispness level is achieved by how much time you leave the waffle in the maker. But, given how these bells and whistles like to break on other gadgets, simplicity is sometimes better. If you want a good, simple waffle maker, this one is great.

My only complaint in all the time I've used it is the white part (the main body) gets hot when in use. I've actually used the closed waffle iron to melt chocolate wafers in a small glass dish set on top the iron (see how it's abused, poor thing!). It's never been hot enough to cause a burn, though. If I put my hand on it, it's hot, I take my hand off, end of story. I've never considered it to be a safety issue even with children. By virtue of proximity, the blue handle sometimes gets a bit warm as well, though not as warm as the white part. I've not had experience with other waffle makers, but it would make sense to me that the body of the iron gets hot, so I hesitate to even call this a flaw.

The only reason I'm even on Amazon looking for a new iron right now is because this one is just about worn out. There's a small crack in the back (my fault for dropping it, but yes, it has still worked for many years after that accident), and the spring connecting the two halves popped out from its channel in the hinge (again, probably due to dropping it on my part). Plus, after so many years the iron has lost its non-stick properties, and there's gummy residue in places where I can't reach it from so much use. But, all in all, these are minor issues -for a waffle iron that's been through 10 years of very hard work in our family, it's unbelievable how it's held up. Even after I replace it, I'll keep this one in my cupboard, because I just can't part with it.

We recently were searching for a replacement waffle iron since our broke, so I started my search by reading all the on-line reviews. I was tempted by the higher priced waffle makers with all their features, but figured they probably won't make any better waffle when a cheaper one. I liked the reviews on the morning baker belgian waffle maker, so I bought one (found it at a different store for less money though). We have made waffles many times with it, and it really does make good waffles. It is also really easy to clean up. One thing I don't like about it though is that the handle gets really hot while cooking. I have to use a pot holder to lift up the handle every time I make waffles. Besides the handle getting too hot, we are pleased with our purchase.

I've raved about every size Imusa Caldero, as I have them from the tiniest to the largest.

This is way too big for home cooking. More appropriate for restaurants. I can't fit this on our standard electric stove. One cannot have any other cooking pots on the stove either. The size is just too big. But the pot is good. So I am returning it to get a much smaller one.

If you could just stand and marvel at a pan's beauty, engineering, and "sex appeal" if there is such a thing, this is the one. The lid itself is a marvel, but the pan, at about 3 inches deep and 11 inches in diameter (check it just to make sure--I'm winging it a bit here) is the perfect size to carry off that slow cooked French stew or chicken dish, which can easily accommodate four or five chicken breasts in a sauce, etc. It is extremely well made, heavy, and well designed, again, not too big, not too small. I bought this because I am doing freezer meals now. I read the reviews on many stock pots and chose this one because it sounded like it was constructed well, and I wanted stainless steel. I wanted enough room to make many batches of stew at once or stock with several chickens. I am really happy with the quality, it has pretty smooth connections where the handles are attached, the handles feel good in my hand which is important because this is a heavy pot!!! The lid made funny sounds the first time I used it I was afraid it would shatter! But I think it was just adjusting the the handle. I have made 2 things in it so far and I love it! You will need a large storage spot, too big to leave on the stove. I keep mine in the linen closet.

So far so good for this behemoth! I just used mine for making a cooked brine and then submerged a 20 lb. turkey in it for our Thanksgiving Day feast which it accommodated easily. Worked and performed beautifully! The bottom is quite thick and sturdy. It is of tri-ply construction like its much more expensive brethren with a layer of heat conducting aluminum sandwiched between 2 layers of stainless steel. Also, like some of the MUCH MORE expensive stocks available on the market--this pot is not just made of "heavy guage" stainless steel, it IS 18/10 stainless steel. This is specified on the box it arrives in but for some reason is NOT listed on the product description here on Amazon which it should be! Why is that??? This was one of the key issues which caused me to repeatedly hesitate to commit to ordering it. If it had stated from the get-go that it is 18/10, I'm sure I would have ordered it immediately after doing only half as much research.

Anyway, I am more than pleased that I now at long last have a high-quality stock pot which will fill a variety of needs in my kitchen after having wasted money on a few cheaper stocks which only lasted once or twice before falling apart. Only one drawback that I can see so far: It is quite large but hey....it IS a 24 qt. stock pot so what do you expect? I DID absolutely make sure of course to measure the interior dimensions of my fridge BEFORE committing to ordering it as I knew it would be pointless to order it in my case if I couldn't find a way to squeeze it in there. I had to remove one of my side door compartments while putting it in and taking it out, but I expected that. Once it was in though, I was able to put the compartment back on the door and everything closed up just fine! So, if you are planning to use it to brine--just make absolutely sure you measure your fridge area first.

I will of course also have to store it in one of my closets when not in use as it will not fit anywhere in the storage kitchen areas---but that is a very small price to pay for such a high-quality kitchen item at a price that is a steel for what you get.

I see that a few others have commented on the looseness of the glass lid. Although I can understand the reason for this criticism, so far it really is not an issue in my short experience with it and seems purposeful in the overall design and construction. Perhaps this may be an issue later on, but I have so far used it for both hot and cold cooking and the lid has not been an issue at any time.

Order with confidence! GREAT kitchen product at a more than fair price!

I just can't rave enough about the quality. Just perfect, I have used a lot of large pots for different catering and events this one is head and shoulders better then the thin metal ones.

Have only used it once, but what a breeze to sew up a turkey, so nice to be able to start at the end of the turkey cavity, sew all the way to the top, leave the loop in place , while it cooks, cut loop and turkey skin out, all is one piece, only trick to is make sure you do not cut the loop, when you go to get the dressing.

I buy many kitchen gadgets, some I use only once, then they go to the cutlery drawer, never to see the light of day again, others, I really like and use all the time, the silicone loop will be reused many times, it is so handy and makes stuffing a turkey so much easier. I just received this yesterday and haven't used it yet. But I was surprised on how small it was.

We'll see how things go and may have to purchase another one to feed the family.

The size of the bottom is 11.25" x 7.5". That's almost 2 inches shorter all arond.

The sides slightly flare out. Measuring from the top, the size is 12.25" x 8.75"
