Review of Ceramic Marble Coated Cast Aluminium Non Stick Fry Pan 30cm(12

I loved this pan. When I went back to Amazon to buy another one, I saw a review by someone stating there was a warning about Phthalates AND Lead. That did not make much sense to me knowing it was made in Korea where people have gotten highly educated about and sensitive to toxins. But, I wasn't going to risk my family's health. Too bad, I thought, as it really is one of the best pans I have ever used. Then, I found and bought a set of Instant Lead Tests (by Lead Check) sold by Amazon and tested the pan I had at home. The result: NO LEAD. As to Phthalates (DEHP), I don't know how to test for it, but I don't see how DEHP, a primary plasticizer for PVC, would be on the cooking surface meant for high temperature operation. Maybe the handle tested positive for it? Given the type of hard material used for the handle, I don't think it is a high risk area, if any. So, guess what, I am buying another ceramic marble coated pan!

I'm always being distracted by numerous things when I cook and as a result have walked away after or before cooking with flame still burning under the pan, ruining every pan I've ever used. This last time,.. after preparing breakfast, I emptied my bacon & eggs from this Ceramic Marble coated pan, heard the phone ring in my computer room where I took my breakfast to eat, and answer the phone. After finishing my breakfast and phone call,(a good 25 minutes), there was a burning smell. I ran back through the smoke filled house to remove the pan from the stove. I thought,..Oh No!,..another new pan ruined!

After abusing the pan on medium high (3/4) for at least 25 minutes,..I was shocked to see it clean up so easily with just a damp paper towel, and even though there was an 8" area in the center of the pan that was slightly darker than the rest,..it STILL retains it's excellent non-stick properties.

You could spend a whole lot more and still not get something comparable to this very affordable high quality pan.

I have used this pan for a couple of months now and decided to order 2 more, smaller one for myself and 1 for my sister. Will probably purchase more for my family!

They feel solid, and are exactly as described.

I still find that I need to use a little oil or pam spray, but that is fine. These are good quality pans at a great price

Honest reviews on Ceramic Marble Coated Cast Aluminium Non Stick Fry Pan 30cm(12

I realized after a few uses that the pan looks just like the "stone line" pans being sold on TV. I assumed the pan would be heavy since it's got a marble coating but it's surprising light. I cook all types of food on it, and am very impressed with the performance. It cooks evenly, does not require oil or spray, but I add some for flavor. Made eggs sunny side up with two drips of grapeseed oil, added cheese and when the edges curled up, I was able to slide the eggs from the pan onto the plate, no utensils! Cleanup is as easy as rinsing with warm soapy water and a paper towel. Buy it before the price goes up, it's the only pan you'll need.

My husband never forgave me for throwing away his favorite non-stick pan. In searching for a safer alternative to teflon, we came across this pan, which seemed like a safer option. Sadly, upon receipt, we noticed the following disclaimer on the product packaging: "State of California Prop. 65 WARNING This product contains DEHP, a Phthalate Chemical, Lead and other Chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects and other reproductive harm." Use at your own risk. I'll be returning mine.

A gorgeous pot, nice and deep for pasta, soups/stocks, chicken and dumplings...just about anything. Sturdy and quite heavy, it is clearly well-constructed and made to last a lifetime. I bought it to go with a 5-piece starter set I received; now, I'm ready to cook, well, just about anything.

Review of Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 2-Quart Heart Casserole, Red

I've used my Le Creuset enameled cast iron cookware for over 10 years; I'd be lost without it. The excellent heat retention and even heat distribution allow you to cook over low-medium heat; you'll save energy and your cookware will last longer. But who am I kidding?--I bought my Le Creuset pans because they're pretty and oh so French! That they're energy efficient, sturdy, and easy to clean are just bonus points.

Although I own a set of the cobalt blue pans, the heart shaped red pan with lid is my favorite Le Creuset piece. It would make a great Mother's Day or Valentine's Day gift; then again it would make a wonderful present to yourself!

I have collected all of Le Creuset's fruit and vegetable shaped cast iron enameled casseroles. In my 40+ years of cooking these casseroles are at the top of my list for beauty and functionality. They are beautiful to display on a table or on a kitchen counter and very practical in cooking delightful casseroles, soups, stews and other wonderful dishes. The color that they can add to a kitchen brightens every vist there. The exterior and interior enamel coating is very durable and easy to clean. I have cooked a multitude of dishes in these casseroles and have found them to be excellent in heat conduction and preventing "hot spots". The wider and lower shaped casseroles are a little better in spreading the heat.

The warranty against defects of 101 years will certainly last beyond my expected needs but it is nice to know that I have the protection since these are not inexpensive purchases.

The comments of guests served from these casseroles is always positive and never fails to bring a smile to my face.

There is a drawback to these whimsical cookers and that is the rim of both the top and bottom of the casseroles. There is no enamel on these rims and they can rust if not dried immediately after hand washing. They are dishwasher safe but I do recommend that you hand wash and dry immediately. I also recommend that you let them sit out for an hour or so to air dry before storing them.

When wet this casserole can be very slippery and the handles on the bottom and top help in preventing dropping them. Be really careful!

Finally, closely inspect your casserole when it arrives. My first garlic casserole had a two inch crack in the enamel. I did not have to contact Le Crueset since Amazon.com immediately sent a replacement to me and had the defective item picked up at my home at no charge. I commend them for standing behind the products they sell.

The single best pots for doing rich chicken dishes and the like. Conducts heat perfectly, well-balanced and very easly to clean. So many great meals have emerged from these pots that I tend to cook more frequently, especially the more slow-cooking or complex dishes.

I inheirited one of these pots and then bought another. Since then I have excused all similar imitations from the kitchen.

If I had to equipt my kitchen with 3 cooking pots/pans, this would come right after the skillet and sauce pan.

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 2-Quart Heart Casserole, Red

Of all the 2 quart Le Creuset specialty pieces (pumpkin, tomato, etc.) this was the one that caught my eye. I resisted it several times at a nearby Le Creuset shop, but when they discounted it so that the price was about what I'd pay on Amazon, I gave in. I only wish I would have bought it sooner.

Unless your kitchen is totally austere and devoid of all decor, this is one piece you will want to keep out at all times. You cannot look at it without smiling and just feeling good. As far as actually using it, it has all the wonderful qualities for which Le Creuset is so well-known. Whether on the stove or in the oven, you'll love the even heating and the smooth enamel finish. When it's time to serve on the table, it becomes a conversation piece as well. At 2 quarts, it's a great size for small recipes. Clean up is fast and easy.

So, beauty and function in a quality piece of cookware, and all for a reasonable price. What more could one ask for?

I have had this pot since about 2001. I bought it for the macaroni and cheese review. I don't remember how much I paid for it, but it has been worth it surprisingly. I admit I only used it to make mac and cheese the first few years. Then I found out it makes brussel sprouts, spaghetti sauce, and now RICE, perfectly. I actually reach for this pot on somewhat of a weekly basis now and it still looks brand new. The handles are very ergonmically useful. It holds an air-tight seal while cooking, so rice cooks up perfectly without spilling over on the stove. Stores food well in any temperature.

This is a hand me down pot for the future generations. Friends always compliment me on the cuteness of this pot as it sits on the stove during cookings. I am glad I bought it. It cooks 3 cups of rice and surprisingly mac and cheese is not so bad in such a deep small pot. It fills nearly to the brim without boiling over, since it is air tight.

If you do not treat this pot delicately and just use it for anything including side vegetables, you will find that it is very useful. There is hardly a scratch on mine and I consider it everyday ware now. Hope this helps!

We'll see how things go and may have to purchase another one to feed the family.

The size of the bottom is 11.25" x 7.5". That's almost 2 inches shorter all arond.

The sides slightly flare out. Measuring from the top, the size is 12.25" x 8.75"

I almost purchased a Le Creuset stainless knob then I saw this one. I have a Lodge Color Dutch Oven 3 qt. This is a beautiful knob and has the Lodge logo on top. It fits my lid perfectly. So if you want to replace the plastic knob on your Lodge Color cookware, this is the knob to use. The original plastic knob is only good to 400 degrees F in the oven. The stainless will never melt.Lodge Color Covered Casserole, Island Spice Red, 3-Quart

I bought two of these: One for my "6-Quart Lodge Color" Dutch Oven & one for my 5.5-quart Tramontina Dutch Oven. My Lodge is an older model. I believe all the new Lodge Dutch Ovens are now shipping with this stainless knob. The knobs fit perfectly & can go in to an oven up to 500 degrees (perfect for making "no-knead bread"). Both my Dutch ovens came with the hard black plastic knobs so only safe to 400 degrees. I know this, because I experimented with my original knob in a 500 degree oven & it cracked & made a very bad smell.

The knob is a generous size (2-inch diameter) & is easy to grasp with oven mitts or a hot pad.

All you need is a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the old knob & screw on the new stainless knob.

My lodge dutch oven had a rubber knob that was only safe up to 400 deg. F, so I replaced it with this stainless knob that is safe up to 500 deg. F. Great for baking breads and other hot oven uses.

Honest reviews on Lodge ECSSK Replacement Knob, Stainless Steel, 2-inch

My older lodge cast iron enamel pot came with a plastic knob that was not safe to use at higher oven temps. I bought this so I could bake at higher temps. It's a great knob, larger than it looks in the pictures, very sturdy and best of all it looks GREAT on my lid and I can bake at 500 degrees now if I want to :-) Love lodge cast iron enamel pots and this knob, too!! Great purchase!!

I mean, I've dealt with my fair share of knobs. What girl hasn't? You spend enough time in the kitchen, you get to know your knobs. You spend a lot of time pulling on knobs, lifting knobs, sometimes you're a little rough with your knobs.

Sometimes someone warns you that your knob will explode.

(... apparently, if you put it in the oven above a temperature above which you very frequently use your Lodge dutch oven. I didn't test this theory as exploding knobs are not really my thing.)

So while I'm no expert on the subject of knobs, I knew I needed a new one. Exploding knobs are not good knobs to keep around, even if they're quite nice, as the Lodge "default" knobs tend to be. So I ditched my old knob and bought this shiny wonder. It's fantastic. Doesn't explode. Helps me lift the lid to my dutch oven with ease. It's a great knob. I intend to keep it around for a good long while.

I chose and purchased this little gem online without phyically seeing it. It is quit unique with the star on cord so can easily be retrieved from under a child's pillow. You can also have family name engraved on back as a keepsake to pass down from generations. I gave to friend of family for baptism gift and she absolutely loved it to be shared by both of her children. I will definitely purchase more of these because it is made of good quality and will not tarnish over time.

I purchased three of these from a different website based on the excellent reviews it received on that site. The boxes I received were poorly made of very cheap materials. I would be embarassed to give them as a gift! They would not even stay closed. Very disappointing since I had previously associated Reed and Barton with quality.

The pros:

*I love the timer on top of the kettleI timed how long it took the kettle to heat to each ideal brewing temperature, and now I can just set the timer and leave the room. So convenient!

*It's attractive and goes well with the rest of my black appliances.

*The steeping basket is a good, fine mesh. Very little mess at the bottom with finer-cut leaf teas, and none at all with the larger leaf teas.

*Heats the water very quickly.

*The inside is stainless steel, so you don't get that weird plasticky smell/taste in your tea.

*Keeping the kettle clean, I have not had difficulty with staining or scale build-up.

*Takes the guesswork out of green and white tea brewing.

The cons:

*While I understand the cord is short for safety reasons, I do wish it was a bit longer. I also wish it was retractable.

*No whistle. It isn't really necessary with the timer, but somehow I'm just accustomed to my kettle whistling. Wouldn't affect my decision to buy it in the future.

*The timer only measures in whole minutes, when sometimes half-minute increments would be nice.

*The kettle won't maintain lower temperatures; you just have to unplug it when you get the temperature you want, and either steep a whole pot of the same kind of tea, or keep re-heating the water if you want to make different teas.

I'd been considering a few different, more expensive multi-temperature models of electric kettles/water dispensers, and I'm very glad I decided to go with this inexpensive (not cheap!) alternative.

A nice tea pot actually holds 40 oz, so you can't really call it a little tea pot. It does what it says it does, you put water in the pot and watch the temperature and when it gets to the right one, you put the tea in the infuser and put it in the pot. It is all pretty straight forward and a pretty good deal for the money. So the complaints I have read, it beeps when it gets to the last minute, well my stove does that too, because it doesn't time less than a minute, but will count down the last minute so you can stop it... important if you are brewing your tea for 2 and a half minute. The infuser is easy to put on. The thermometer is easy to read even with my bad eyes, same for the timer. So do I wish it had a longer cord, yes the cord on this is really short, do I wish it had an off button so when it got to the right temperature you can turn it off, yes, but I plugged into a surge protector and when it gets to the right temperature, I just flip the switch. Do I wish it was on a detachable base, you bet... but honestly for the price it does a great job and I am thinking of getting another, just so I have a back up. You want a system to brew tea and do everything for you well there is a $250 machine out there, for the rest of us, this works really well. And then we can spend money on the tea not the machine.

Best Deals for National Presto Ind 02704 5-Cup Black Boil & Brew Tea Kettle

I purchased this as a tea maker because the last one that I had finally died on me. It wasn't nearly as great as this, with all these features, however it did the job. This however has made my tea taste even better. I hadn't realized how much I was missing out on! LOL This is a great product and comes with options for oulong, herbal, and green tea's. Awesome product! Definitely recommend this to anyone who loves tea!

Honest reviews on National Presto Ind 02704 5-Cup Black Boil & Brew Tea Kettle

Pros:

+ Useful color-coded thermometer

+ Boils water fast

+ Stainless steel interior

Cons:

Lacks an on/off switch

Timer not connected to anything, just battery powered.

Short cord

It's useful enough to do what I need it to do: boil water for tea. If I want a green/oolong, I can just look at the thermometer and unplug it when I want to. I invested in a $2 switch for it, so I don't have to keep unplugging it and creating a big spark each time.

I ordered this because the description said it was stainless steel inside. Only the bottom warmer is stainless, the entire housing is plastic. Plastic releases toxins on a molecular level when heated. It is damaging to your health to drink from hot plastic containers. Does anyone know of an electric tea pot, that only uses stainless steel or glass where water contact is an issue?

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Summary: Overall, a beautiful set of pans. However, there are some trade-offs. I would recommend this set to someone who likes the appearance or the handle design. However, considering the price, I personally would choose to either save money on a set that is very close in quality with a thinner base, or spend a little more money to get an even nicer set with thicker walls. In balancing all the features (some two stars, some five) into one overall rating, I came up with three stars, "It's OK". The thin side walls and the cost were the primary reasons why three stars instead of four or five.

Assumptions: When shopping for a set of pans, I would first make sure I need every pan in the set. Choosing individual pans (instead of a set) can save money and ensure you only buy the pans you truly need. For example, there may be one or two pans you want that are not in any given set (which would add cost if you buy separately), and you may not use one or two that are included in any given set (but which you still pay for as part of the set). For this review, I assume every pan size and type in this set is needed. I am comparing features relative to all price points (Mauviel, All-Clad, Calphalon, Emeril, and Viking) and rating the overall value based on what else is available relative to the cost of this particular set.

Appearance: The appearance is solely a matter of personal preference. Personally, I thought these pans were beautiful--a very nice shape and design.

Function: The working area in the center of the skillets and the sauté pan are a little smaller than competing pans of the same size. The stock pot is perfectly proportioned between its diameter and height, allowing a little better access than my same-size Calphalon that is taller and thinner. The side walls are very thin, as if a drop from three feet would completely cave in the side of a pan (maybe not, but it seems likely).

The solid base helps with even heat distribution at the bottom of the pans, but the thin sides do not share this benefit. This is not a fully-clad set of pans (and doesn't claim to be), so it's understandable that the sides will not distribute heat evenly. The solid exterior base is a little smaller than the cooking surface of each pan, so heat may be a little different at the center of the pan than it is at the far edges. This may not seem like a big deal, but the copper base is the big selling point and that value is offset with uneven heat and thin side walls. (Note: The copper will patina unless polished, and this is unavoidable with all copper cookware.) A slight flare at the rim of the stock and sauce pots help pour more easily than all other straight-edge pans where liquid dripples down the side instead of pouring cleanly off the edge.

Hands down, these are the best handles of any cookware I've used. They are thick and very easy to maneuver. By comparison, All-Clad handles are thinner awkward when pouring. The lids look nice, with welded handles (avoiding a rivet). The handle loops look taller, and provide as much or more clearance (for a hot pad, etc.) as other manufacturers.

I hope these considerations are helpful. You will not be disappointed if you ultimately purchase this set after considering the pros and cons.

This pot is beautifully made... heavy, sleek, and well balanced. The lid fits tightly. However, it does not hold 3.5 quarts; I measured it at not quite 2.5 quarts (and that amount comes too close to the top). The top of the pot measures 8 inches diameter (not including the handles), and it's tapered toward the bottom. The height without the lid is only 5 inches. This makes it only a tiny bit larger than my 2 quart sauce pan, which is 8 X 4 inches (and that pan is straight sided). I will probably send this back for a 4 quart or larger pot, as I need something for soup and pasta for 3 (I've been using my 2 qt sauce pot, and it's just too small). I want something smaller than my 6 quart stock pot, as this leaves my soups too shallow to use my immersion blender effectively.

Best Deals for Anolon Nouvelle Copper Stainless Steel

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Chances are this set of cookware is destined for kitchen ornamentation only. So, if ever I need to feel superior yet concede to allowing my sniping, snooping and snobbish relatives in the house again, I can taunt my perpetually prying aunt by showing her I did in fact end up with a fine set of pots to...cook in.

Conversely, I do feel a little foolish after thinking about all the hours I spent a few years ago trying to decide between Anolon or Circulon anodized cookware, eventually choosing the Circulon 80087 2 10-Piece Cookware Set, meticulously caring for and hanging each piece only to have it now relegated to the dark, dank and dent dangerous netherworld of the kitchen cabinets along with all the other less worthy skillets and more. This set may not be Mauviel but I don't have any aspirations to polish copper or can I cost justify the stainless steel when a set like this Anolon collection is available.

After the traumatic lemon juice/baking soda cleaning era of my teens where I served as an indentured servant to a group of copper bottomed Revere ware pans, I swore stainless steel and copper would never see the light of day in my realm. You can imagine my glee when I discovered this set has a copper core but a stainless base so my former chattel status to the copper cleanser will not be revisited. Yet, I still harbored reservations about subjecting my shiny new skillets to the ravages of the gas flame, even at nothing more intense than the recommended medium setting. To my surprise and relief, these pans performed so admirably I almost considered making them the journeymen of daily duty...almost.

In terms of heat distribution I found them superior to the non-stick Circulon pans I have so appreciated up to now. I am aware of the ways (getting cooking oils up to temperature being a big one) to minimize sticking when using stainless pans and clean up wasn't a major undertaking either, including splatter areas around the riveted handles. While I did notice the metal handles conducted much more heat than the synthetic handles of the Circulon set, it was still comfortable to grip them without use of a pot holder. Additionally, Circulon2 might withstand oven temperatures up to 350 degrees but this set is perfectly safe under the broiler.

I like the shape of these pots. They are visually appealing and the contoured rim is convenient for pouring sauces. They do not feel as weighty as the anodized set and are easy to manipulate. While rated dishwasher safe it's not likely they'll ever see the interior of that torture chamber either. One thing I am somewhat ambivalent about is the stainless steel lids (I had the same concern with the Circulon set). They are form fitting and provide a tight seal but I have a preference for the glass lids of some specialty cookware pieces we also use. In this instance, the lid handles are welded rather than riveted but I doubt it will make that much of a difference in the long term with items of such evident quality. This 10 piece set does not include a 12 inch skillet which would have been a worthwhile add-in but as I have already invested a notable sum in acquisition of open stock pieces for the Circulon collection, I'll make due.

While the price may be a little steep for more cost conscious buyers, if these pots, enhanced by a lifetime limited warranty, live up to that representation, the extra dollars will prove to be money well spent.

I know in my case they'll hang in the skybox rack for years to come.

Honest reviews on Anolon Nouvelle Copper Stainless Steel

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The setup: I just received the items today. We compared these to a set of Rachael Ray pieces. We have solid elements, no glass, no flame.

The initial impression: Solid, smooth, weighs twice as much as the Rachael Ray pans. All metal.

The plan: I made a stir-fry. One spicy and one tame. I had to justify using all the pots and pans in one use. :) I put in some olive oil in three of the pans on medium heat. With my other set, this was the perfect temp for doing hamburgers. But I noticed that the Anolon distributed the heat more evenly and efficiently. I dropped a drop of water in the pan to check heat and it exploded. I expected to get a little sizzle, but it's like I had the heat WAY up. It's gotta be the construction of the base of these pans. It keeps the heat longer and sucks it up more evenly.

My sauce pan prepped my garlic/soy mixture very quickly. I used normal heat, but it was much too hot and began to scorch. Turning it down to the "warm" level evened things out and stopped the burn.

Boiling didn't seem to be any quicker or different.

The handles didn't absorb heat as much as I thought they would. I used a hot pad once for the noodle pot. But just once. The lid was certainly warm, but tolerable for a quick peak.

Clean up: I wasn't looking forward to non-stick surfaces. I'm guessing it is non-stick, but didn't see that in the description. The only problem I had was the spot where my soy sauce mix had carbonized. It took some good elbow work, but it came clean without me thinking "how long will this take?" I used reasonable force, hot water and soap. Nothing else was used to bring this whole meal to the table and the pots back to the cabinet.

+PROS+

+Handles are heavy, but don't tip when the pan is empty

+Handles are relatively burn-free

+Surfaces are smooth and will take my plastic or metal tools.

+Nothing will break or chip under heavy use.

+I don't have to worry about small pieces of teflon getting into the meal

-CONS-

-The lids are steel. You can not look into the pan for a progress check without releasing the heat environment.

-I have sensitive hearing. Metal is loud. They clang.

Conclusion: So really the only practical negative I experienced was the inability to see my food as it cooks. I might get used to it or adjust to open-top cooking, so this might not be so bad as I originally thought.

Nice. Clean looking. My wife says "Very attractive set in the kitchen!"

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've been gradually upgrading my cookware piece-by-piece... until this set, I was accumulating non-stick Calphalon pans but still had some cheap generic stainless steel stockpots. My old stuff served me fine, but... well, read the review.

When I got this set, I was reluctant to leave my non-stick Calphalon pans behind for uncoated stainless ones, even though they were obviously very well made... so I started with the stock pot. From my very first cooking session, I was sold on their superior quality.

APPEARANCE: like the pictures. Nice, chrome-y mirror finish on the outside, heavy-duty handles, and shiny, plain metal lids. Nothing special, but still a clean and timeless look.

CONSTRUCTION: these pieces are HEAVIER than your run-of-the-mill cookware, due to the heavy cladding in the base. The handles are solidly riveted and feel as though they'll last a lifetime, with care (no loose rivets, etc.). Another reviewer on here commented that the sides are thin -well, they're thinner than the bases, but are still solid metal. Durable stuff.

PERFORMANCE: really, if you're buying these, it's for the performance boost. The heavy copper-clad bottoms of these pieces will outperform your other cookware... period. It's amazing how much of a difference it makes. I'll start with my stockpot -I have a ceramic top stove which 'pulses' heat. It's slow to heat pots and pans, yet with my old stockpots I'd often get burn spots, even on medium heat, cooking soups. Why? I'm not sure, but I think it was a combination of the 'pulse' heating with the thin metal of my old stockpots. My new Anolon pot has none of those issues -it heats perfectly evenly, as far as I can tell. It's great for making popcorn too (will take longer to heat up, but will pop all the kernels more rapidly and with less burning/unpopped kernels). For stir-fry, the skillets are great... the thicker base means you get more even high-heat to sear in flavor without burning or simmering your dish.

CLEANING: really, cleaning this isn't as bad as you'd think. If you're like me and have been investing in non-stick cookware, you're nervous about using pieces like this. Well -don't be. The superior heat distribution drastically reduce the chances that you'll have to deal with any burnt-on residue, which is really the main cause of cleaning frustration with uncoated steel cookware. Properly seasoning your cookware (or investing in a cheap copper scrubbie) will further reduce cleaning frustrations. I've made soups, sauces, popcorn, and sauteed / seared meat, and have had no difficulties cleaning these pieces so far.

SUMMARY: I'll update as I have more time to use these, but so far am very pleased. I'm holding onto my Calphalon nonstick stuff, just in case, but am gradually learning to trust quality stainless cookware. For superior control over your cooking, you can't go wrong with this set... especially if you're using a finicky ceramic top range like me. I recommend this if you're relatively serious about cooking and can stomach the initial investment. With care, these should last a lifetime.

My husband and I are slowly replacing our old cookware with investment pieces. We have wanted to try some All-Clad cookware for a long time and so far, it is exceeding our expectations. The pans heat so much more evenly than anything else we own and they really haven't proven to be a pain to clean (which we were sort of expecting). We heeded the advice of the instructions and the reviews from others and keep the heat lower than we normally would..... cook like a dream. I find the weight of the pans to be really nice. I sort of thought that the lids would be heavier. They are very light, but provide a really good seal. Like some of the other reviewers, I bought some Bar Keeper's Friend, but have only had to use it once. I really like this 5 piece set, too because we didn't get a bunch of extra stuff that we really didn't want... and the price was exceptional (black friday sale).

I waited a while and wanted to use these for a few weeks before really making an informed review. I was concerned after having not cooked on "quality" cookware how much of a difference I would notice or if it would even make that much of a difference in my cooking at all. It did. They wont obviously just make you a great cook just by using them, but once you do get used to them they make a huge difference over cheaper sets. Food cooks evenly, they heat up fast, they hold heat really well, and there are no hot spots that Ive been able to tell.

The only negative that I would consider is the handles for the lids does get pretty hot if you're braising, boiling, or doing anything where steam/heat gets to the lid. Simple solution for me was just to keep a towel close by (which I normally do anyways) and Ive gotten in the habit of using that to open the pots that I know have been on the stove for a while.

Recap, well worth the investment IMO.

People tell me to get All-Clad all the time because it will make life easier and you'll enjoy cooking more. It's totally TRUE. I didn't know the value of owning a great set of cookware until we got this set. We have an electric cook-top that we do not like, but aren't able to redo the kitchen with gas anytime soon. The high quality of this cookware negates the disadvantages of not having the gas stove we loved in our old place. This is the best set at the best price I have found, and I've been looking for a few years.

Honest reviews on All-Clad 401599 Stainless Steel 3-Ply Bonded Dishwasher Safe

The only problem with getting the larger sets of all-clad is that frequently you run into overlap between the sets; my husband and I ended up with a few duplicates once we combined households. This set, however, includes the three pans I use the most. The 10.5" saute pan works wonderfully for sauteing, but also for risottos as well as for steaming and frying dumplings; the fry pan can comfortably fry up bacon and then eggs for two people; the 3qt sauce pan is a good size for soups-I find the 2-qt too tall and narrow. Warning: the short handle on the saute pan will *not* stay cool to the touch like the long handle; never grab the short handle with your bare hand if the pot is still hot.

Since the bases of these pans are so heavy, they take a bit longer to warm up, but once they do, you can turn the flame down and let the pan's thermal mass do the hard work for you. My husband used to think that he needed non-stick to cook anything. When you've got good heavy stainless cookware, however, you'll find you won't miss non-stick pans. If your food is sticking (and you don't want it to be), you've likely got the heat up too high. If you do accidentally burn something on that leaves marks, a little bit of scrubbing with Bar Keepers Friend will make your pan look as good as new.

The plain fact is that good, solid cookware makes cooking predictable and enjoyable. There are far fewer accidents resulting in ruined meals. Before cooking with the all-clad, my husband thought that the limit of his kitchen abilities was whatever he could cook on the grill. Now he cooks dinner about twice a week; sometimes breakfast, too!

My set of All-Clad is over ten years old; I can't actually tell the difference between my pots and the ones that are only three years old-they all look great in the kitchen, hanging from the potrack. These are industrial-strength showpieces that come with a lifetime warranty. They're a worthy investment, especially if you enjoy food.

I have several All-Clad pieces which I slowly acquired over 5 years to build my set. I wish I had discovered Amazon sooner. All-Clad is the best product ever. If you burn the pan you just use a cleaning product called "bar keepers friend" and it is like brand new again. I bought this exact set once for my sister and again for my brother both asa house warming present. It is a perfect starter set.

I just love this product! Very much worth the price while on sale. A bit steep for me otherwise. I will be able to keep these for a very long time. Not too heavy since i am relatively short and taking very heavy dishes out of the cupboards can be a bit cumbersome. They are heavy enough to last and not so heavy i will need to get a chair to take them down!

This pan cooks fine and has a nice size to it, yet is very light weight and easy to handle and to clean. But, the bottom is bowed out slightly and it will not sit flat on the burners of our smooth top stove. All of our other pans do. I think this must have been a manufacturing defect.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

The Faberware High Performance 12 piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set is an attractive set of cookware. The 12 pieces don't give you much flexibility in terms of quantity cooked, the largest pan being only 5 quarts. However, this makes this an excellent set of cookware for a single person or a couple. This set would be an outstanding set of pots and pans for someone just starting a home or who may be downsizing to a smaller kitchen.

The highlight for me is the 2 quart strainer pan which allows you to drain off water without removing the lid of the pan. We found this to be excellent for making small quantities of pasta, one or two servings. With this pan you will not need to dirty additional dishes just to drain off liquid from whatever you are cooking. The pan is much thinner than the other pans so it cools down quickly which keeps your food from burning on the bottom of the pan after you drain the liquid. This single pan has become a regular part of our meal planning and has allowed us to add delicious things like multi-grain pasta to lunches and other meals when smaller servings are desired. I love this pan. As I noted in the video, due to the thinner metal on this pan you will want to be a little more careful and not want to bang it around too much as it could dent far more easily than the other thicker metal pans.

I also liked the glass lids, especially on the 11 inch skillet. This has become another much used tool and you will be amazed at what accumulates on the inside of the lid when you are browning meat or cooking sausage or bacon. I have not had a problem with the non-stick surface of the pan which does what it is supposed to do extremely well. I am not one who is afraid of using non-stick surfaces but often alternate between them and cast iron, more for cooking style than any kind of concern about a non-stick coating. I would much rather cook an egg, especially an omelet, in a non-stick pan than a cast iron one (actually I wouldn't even try an omelet in cast iron). I have used the high temperature plastic spatula, spoon and slotted spoon which were provided with the set and washed the non-stick skillets carefully and after 25 or so uses they could be put back in the box and sold as new. How you take care of your cookware determines how long it will last. Don't use metal tools on non-stick surfaces.

The package claims the cookware can withstand up to 350 degrees in an oven. I have not tested this extreme temperature, but I did use the oven set at 200 degrees to keep things warm in the skillet and it had no effect on the cookware. If I was going to be using higher temperatures in the oven with my skillets I would use my cast iron skillets anyway.

I have really enjoyed adding this set of cookware to my kitchen and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a basic but versatile and attractive set of cookware.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This Farberware cookware set includes 3 different types/sizes of stainless steel pots with glass covers as well as 2 non-stick aluminum skillets and a few lightweight non-metal utensils. The items are designed for smooth, safe handling (the pot and cover handles have non-metallic surfaces which reduces the likelihood of accidentally burning yourself touching the handles). These items are solidly constructed and Farberware is known for good quality kitchenware. The main drawback in this set is the inclusion of the non-stick aluminum coated skillets, which really don't belong in a set titled "stainless steel." Since there is concern about health hazards from aluminum and chemicals used to create non-stick coatings, it would be best to have an all stainless steel set for those that are conscious about this subject and how cookware could contaminate food. Labeling this set as stainless steel is misleading since the skillets are made with other materials. This would be a fine set if you don't mind the aluminum & non-stick materials, yet I prefer all stainless steel and it would make sense to me to have sets with all the items using the same type of construction those who prefer plain stainless steel can purchase that and those who prefer non-stick pots can get sets containing solely that. Thus, I like part of this set and am impressed with the quality of the design, but feel that Farberware could have made this a truly all stainless steel set, not just one called stainless steel.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I love love this 12-piece set of "Faberware High Performance Stainless Steel Cookware". Here are some of the pluses about this particular set:

The set itself looks much more expensive than it is, the pots and pans are extremely well made, look beautiful and are not too too heavy when lifting full pots of hot liquids. The glass lids are attractive and fit nice and snug, and I love that they have side vents on the larger ones so that when item starts to boil theres no spilling over on the stovetop. Another plus is the fact that the handles do not get hot, so no danger or burning your hands when removing pot or pan from the hot stove. I also love the teflon coating on the fry pans which make clean up a breeze. Finally an added bonus was a 3-piece kitchen tool set which is very nice as well.

These would make a great shower gift for a bride to be or someone setting up a new home and not wanting to spend a fortune on cookware. Very very nice!

Honest reviews on Farberware High Performance Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This cookware set is typical of "department store" every-day quality pots and pans. By that, I mean that they are not comparable to All-Clad or LeCreuset, but they are sufficient for the task and will perform well with regular use. They clean up easily and maintain a shiny finish.

The pots are a good medium weight, so not heavy when filled with food. The glass lids fit snugly and don't rattle when simmering on the stove. I appreciate the comfort handles that are oven safe to 350 degrees, and don't get hot when on the stovetop. I am not a fan of teflon coating, but for some tasks such as scrambling eggs, these skillets are great and clean up is easy.

The set includes three nylon tools for use with the teflon coated pieces. They are also sturdy and I expect them to hold up well. I have washed all pieces in the dishwasher and they came out beautifully. A very nice set of cookware for not a lot of money.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If you are looking to upgrade your aluminum cookware or just in the market for a new mid-level set (meaning not professional or heavy duty, but better than the lightweight flimsy stuff readily available at your local big box store), this may be the perfect set for you.

The cookware itself is made of stainless steel and has a nice heft without feeling tremendously heavy. It feels durable, but isn't so heavy that carrying a full saucepan of boiling water across the kitchen becomes a seriously dangerous activity. Some heavier duty sets are just *too* heavy, at least for me. I like the feel of these pots and pans very much.

The lids are a heavy duty glass, so you can cover your cooking and still keep an eye on it, which is a super nice feature.

There are two things that this set lackssturdy, heat-proof handles (I'm a little wary of the thin plastic covered handles of this setI'm not sure if they will conduct heat if you are cooking for a long time), and a mid-size saucepan. The saucepan that is included is perfect for single size servings, but not enough to cook a box of couscous or a family-sized serving of pasta/rice/sauce, etc. There is a larger pot included, but it's not one with a single handle, it's a lower, wide pot with the two grips on each size (I'm sure there's a formal name for it but I am forgetting it at the moment). When you are trying to juggle a couple of things in the kitchen. I always find single-handled saucepans, even big ones, much easier to handle than the wider, flatter pots.

All in all, this is a great set. If you're just boiling water or making mac and cheese, you won't need a set like this unless you want it. If you are a super gourmet or very interested in cooking, indulge in something a little more higher grade. But if you are looking for something to make your meal prep a little more fun or just want to upgrade your pots and pans, this is a great set!

After getting the 10-inch version of this pan, I found a great deal on the 8-inch pan and picked it up for smaller jobs in the kitchen. This was a great decision.

8 inches *is* small for a lot of cooking and this shouldn't be your primary fry pan but it is great for doing smaller jobs on the side or for cooking up things for one or two people. I use this guy for eggs, meat and more. The pan heats really evenly and feels great in my hand. The handle does a great job of dispersing heat and staying cool, too. And, though it doesn't come with a lid, the medium lid from the All Clad pots fit it well.

When things do stick, I don't worry about attacking it and scratching off the surface. I can use a scraper, sponge, or scouring pad without any problems. Metal can be used but it is more likely to scratch. And it is safe in the dishwasher although I recommend handwashing as much as possible.

Some cooking tips I learned with this type of pan: Use a lower heat, not because you have to (like with non-stick), but because it heats so evenly, you often don't need that higher temperature. Also when you throw something in, whether you are using butter, oil, a spray, or nothing, let it sit and cook a bit before you try to move it around. Hamburger, for example, will adhere to the pan at first and if you try stirring it up right away, small pieces will be stuck and are more likely to burn. Rather, wait until it has a minute or two to cook on that side. The parts that adhere will cook, separate and lift away from the pan so you can stir it easier. And when you are done, if there is any food stuck to the pan, put some water in it and let it boil for a few minutes. This will help lift it off and make cleaning easier.

Again, a great pan, a great brand, and definitely worth the money since it will last you a lifetime with the warranty they give you.

This small frypan is my main item. I cook for myself only (usually) and if anyone out there wants to try out the All-Clad line of cookware, this is the one to start with. Once you do, you, as I, will want to expand your collection of this superior product. You can get messy with it; you can make a mistake & have the heat too high, you can even leave it in the sink uncleaned for a day or two.....it will still clean up easily and look brand new. As stated in the ads, the handles really do stay cool; that's a nice change of pace! Not to mention the fact that the company is still in business; the lifetime guarantee really means something! Did I forget to say that this cookware is simply "beautiful?"

I bought this pan couple of weeks ago. I used it twice. I am really impressed with it. I thought it would be too hard to clean. I WAS WRONG. It's easy to clean especially if you use oil or butter (I never used Al-Clad fry pan without oil so I have no idea how does it without oil). I wash it right after done cooking.

I noticed that it does not heat fast, but food stay hot for long time after cooking (in the pan). When I decided to buy All-Clad frying pan I was thinking of buying non-stick one. Then I changed my mind after reading some reviews about All-clad non-stick surface. I said: Why to pay so much for non-stick when it's easy to scratch like any other non-stick. Great buy. Am glad I bought it.
