This mug is beautiful! The Lenox Holiday series is elegant with it's ivory white background and generous 24k gold banding. The gold is not just on the rim of the mug but on the handle as well. It is not a heavy, clumsy mug but neither is it frail feeling either. Drinking from the mug is an exercise in elegance. In our family we always had Norwegian pastries on Christmas morning and we drank our tea from the lovely mugs. It made Christmas morning even more special.

It made me sad to read the only other review on these wonderful mugs. I would say the mugs were not the problem--I would say there are 3 people who didn't appreciate the beauty they held in their hands.

Ordered this cup along with some matching plates and bowls. May add more next year. Look great on the long dining room table with the bright red Xmas runner. Recommended.

The product is lovely and the quality of the china is very nice the reason for the 3 star ratings on this particular item is the handle it isn't designed well at all. It is designed with no one over 5ft 5in in mind at 5"10" I could barely get my fingers, which are slender, into the correct position. Entertaining a 6ft plus person better have another cup available.

I received wrong item. I got a different mug than what i ordered and its a real inconvenience to have to have to ship it back to get what i was suppose to get.

I wanted to purchase 4 of these mugs, and was happy to find them on Amazon Prime. I already had 4 and wanted to add 4 more to complete my service for 8. Here is the weird part. I was only allowed to order three of these no explanation why. Thought "well, OK then, I'll order 3 and then put in another order for 1." NOT. I was told by Amazon in no uncertain terms that three was all I was entitled to. I resorted to having a friend order one for me and I repaid her for it. I have never run into something like this with an Amazon purchase. And I never could find out why they did this. Who orders just THREE of any china or glassware pattern?

That said, the product was exactly as described; shipping and packaging were fine. Arrival was quick.

Review of Good Cook Classic Sauce Pans

I really like the design and the ease of use of this sauce pan. However, the handle fell off after just 6 months of regular home use, due to rust! The pan is supposed to be dishwasher-safe so I am very disappointed. I'm sending it back to Amazon. According to their policy I should at least receive a partial refund.

About 2 months after buying this the non-stick surface has started to come off. It says it's dishwasher safe, so it shouldn't have been that. I use silicone or sometimes wood utensils with my nonstick items, shouldn't have been that.

I tried contacting the manufacturer (Good Cook) and have not heard back from them.

Edit : I've heard back from the manufacturer. They're rectifying the situation. --nov. 10, 2011

New one is working just fine. I might be ordering another pot of a different size soon

used these for my first attempts as sausage, as I wasn't ready to do sausage AND mess with nog casings.

worked, well, stuffed nicely (using hand powered meat grinder and tube), and smoked well (only burst a couple, and that's because that part of teh grill got too hot. takes a fair bit of abuse, as my first stuffing ended up with me "milking" a lot of sauage down the tube to fill up too loosely packed sections later on got the hang of controlling the movement of the casing off the tube and then got firmly filled links)

excellent handlng, and being edible were no problem. got lots of compliments on the sausage... made both italian sausage and beef hot links.

Very happing with the performance.

These are just so much easier to use. No soaking, no problems getting them on the stuffer horn. They have worked great for me for both fresh and smoked sausage.

Just as expected-they worked fine. Used them to make lamb sausage. Yum.

Honest reviews on LEM Products Smoked Clear Edible Collagen Casing

I'm sure that this product is as good as any collagen casings on the market. They arrived very quickly and I used them immediately.

They stuffed easily with only one "blow out" in a 6 foot section.

Unfortunately, these collagen casings didn't work out for me. They would not hold the requisite twist needed to make separate sausages no matter what I tried. I ended cutting "sausage tubes" with a razor knife creating open ends. The other problem is that, unlike natural casings, the texture was quite similar to eating sausage enclosed in a plastic bag.

I strongly suspect that this review applies to all collagen casings and not just this offering.

These casings are easy to stuff, but when you hang them in the smoker they break apart. I stuffed my kielbasa mix into the casings and hung them in the smoker. When I came to check on them they were all on the floor of the smoker. If you're making fresh sausage they work very well. I made breakfast sausage and it came out juicy and fried up great. Just not smoked unless it is supported in some way on a rack, which I will do if I use them again to smoke.

The skillet is heavy and well-casted. It has broad pour spouts which are more realistic than the tiny pour spouts on similar sized skillets. The thickness and shape of the handle has no rival in today's cast iron skillet market. Even the old masters Wagner and Griswold didn't do nearly as good a job with their handles. It makes all the difference. With a substantial, well-formed handle, you can more easily pick-up and maneuver a heavier skillet. I've owned my skillet for about a year and it is now virtually non-stick. Why did I not give this product 5 stars? The pig iron used may not be of the highest quality and/or consistency. That said however, this is a most used skillet in my kitchen.

I have this hanging above my kitchen window and use it for haning pan on. I probably have about 8 pans hanging on it. I am confident that it can quite comfortably hold the weight of these pans (have had it up for over 2 months and it is doing just great).

It comes with some really stout mollys for anchoring to the wall. I did not use these as I was able to anchor into a stud.

It has a nice low profile and comes with more than enough hooks.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

These drywall mounts are amazing.

For background, normally when mounting something on a drywall you have to find studs (wooden beams used for support when building the wall) and drive your screw into this hard stud. Drywall mounts go into the drywall themselves and cling to the back of the drywall in the hollow space between the studs. (DIY experts, feel free to correct my construction terminology or descriptions.)

The drywall mounts provided with this rack are like none I've ever seen. You drill a 1/2" hole in the drywall, slide the mount through it via plastic guidebars, then pull it tight. The metal bracket nimbly flattens against the back side of the drywall and you cinch it tight via simply pulling firmly on the plastic guides, then snap off the guides and voila! you have a nice threaded plug into which to drive the provided screws with a provided hex driver (like the kind you get with Ikea furniture).

Note that most standard drill bit sets don't come with a 1/2" bit, so you may have to go buy one.

The diagrams are clear and the instructions are written in clear friendly English, with minimal jargon.

If you want to mount it on studs, you can't use the provided drywall mounts; you have to go buy some 1/4"x3" wood lag screws and drill in a passageway for them. Then, since the rack curves around, you need an angle driver to get those screws to go all the way in.

Once it's mounted it looks and works great. I love the fact that there are 8 hooks provided (4 straight, 4 at an angle) so you can hang your pots and pans how you please.

Only real problem is the brand name. How do you pronounce "Enclume?"

Best Deals for Rack It Up Utensil Bar

We bought two of these and placed them on the wall one on top of the other. They look and work great! I was concerned about how far they would stick out from the wall as they are placed on the wall that passes through to my dining room. I didn't want to be bumping into them every time I walked through there, but they are pretty tight to the wall, and the pans hang flat. They were super easy to put upwe had it done in about 5 minutes. They are incredibly sturdy we have 5-6 pans on each, and I am confident they could hold more. We did not like the grey color they came in, so we just spray painted them black-problem fixed! All in all, this is a great space saving product.

Honest reviews on Rack It Up Utensil Bar

I ordered this rack because I did not want to invest too much money and I am also a renter, so I did not want to make major holes in my kitchen ceiling. I mounted this rack in an apartment built in 1902, so the walls are plaster an lath. It was a fairly easy installation, I had to skip the drywall mounts and used the wood screws instead. We had to find studs and whether it is intentional or not, the holes lined up perfectly with the distance between two studs. It was a bit of a pain to screw in the screws due to the very narrow space between the front bar and the back, but with a little patience and the included mini allen wrench, it was completed.

This rack looks great on the wall above my oven, and I highly recommend it to anyone with a small apartment where the rack will have to be removed and the holes filled in with spackle before moving out. The metal itself is very hefty and high quality, it seems to be powder coated, so it's easy to wipe off as well.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Rack It Up Utensil Bar

I have 3 cast iron pans and 1 wok hanging on this rack and it is not anchored to studs. I have no doubt it will be able to hold the weight due to the ingenious anchors provided. The anchors require a pre-drilled 1/2" hole. They are inserted in the holes and tighten in a zip-tie fassion, pinching the drywall between. The screws go through and into the back of the anchors where there is a metal plate with a threaded hole. There are 2 self tapping screws provided in case you happen to hit a stud. You would have to pre-drill the holes since there is really no good way of using a screwdriver or drill to put the screws in. You really must use the hex wrench provided.

The rack seems to be of decent quality and the 8 hooks provided are sturdy. The only complaint I have is that the rack does not come out from the wall far enough to hold the pans perpendicular to the wall and since it's not large it really cannot hold many pans. I have my 4 pans overlapping and it works fine but I have no room for any more. However, I can't take off a star for this. I'm sure if it protruded from the wall more, it would not be as sturdy. I see it as a design trade off.

For the price this is the best pan rack I found and it serves it's purpose well.

This rack fits in my All-Clad 'lasagna pan', which is actually and smaller and MUCH less expensive version, of the full-sized All-Clad roasting pan. This rack is easy to clean and holds a large chicken, capon, or small turkey with ease. Even though I only use it once a year, during the Winter holiday's, it's worth every penny.

I bought this rack to fit in an All Clad flared roasting pan that I got from Williams-Sonoma that originally came with an attachment for roasting a chicken. I went to WS to see if they'd just sell the rack, but no luck. After searching online for a while and not being able to find the same one I saw in the store, I settled with this one, knowing it was for the petite roti pan which had a rack that would also fit in my pan. When I got to the cart to checkout, the picture had changed to match the one I was originally seeking. The one that I wanted ended up being shipped (not the one pictured here, but pictured in the cart), and it worked out great. My only gripe is a "made in china" sticker which I could not get off cleanly and left a bunch of residue on the rack.

Best Deals for All-Clad 3014 Rack Nonstick Petite Rack for All-Clad Petite Roti

What I got was not what was pictured. The picture shows the handles on the ends and the rack standing off the bottom holding the meat out of the grease. What I got had the handles on the sides and no standoffs so anything being roasted is sitting in it's own grease. Also, the dimensions are completely different and it will not fit my pan. Based on my experience, I would not order any rack shown because you don't know what the hell you're going to get. I have ordered a lot of stuff from amazon in the past and have never had a bad experience. I would stay away from racks. My wife says she will find some use for it somehow so I give it one star.

This All Clad rack is sturdy and nonstick. I have been looking for a rack like this for over a year to fit my All Clad Roasting Pans. This one is just what I needed. No more soggy roasts and chickens ... The best news is that this rack fits all of the All Clad roasting pans that I know of.

This serverware is perfect for casual dining when serving fajitas, blackened scallops, or the like. It is casual in that the dish (not the insert) is plastic. The metal insert is safe for the oven or grill. In summary, this is a very nice, unique and affordable serving piece that lets you make fun dinners at home.

It is hard to beat an induction cooktop in terms of precise temperature control BUT anodized aluminum pots and pans do not work at all on induction. They make steel adapter plates to place under aluminum pots and pans, but those units get very hot and you lose most of the precision control of the pots and pans due to the less than ideal thermal connection from the pot to the metal plate.

These pots and pans are reasonably thick anodized aluminum with an integral stainless steel plate on the bottom. Since the plate is fused to the aluminum, there is very good thermal contact and the full benefit of induction can be realized. The great thermal conduction of aluminum is also provided.

The surface is non-stick but it is too new to determine how long it will last.

I had many Calphalon pots and pans that were eventually replaced by All-Clad pots and pans, but I really had nothing that had the same functionality as this pan. I wanted something that I could make risotto and polenta in, and that might serve as a small wok. I have lusted after the All-Clad sauciers for a time, but just didn't think I would use them enough to justify their well-over $100 price.

I bought this pot at a substantial discount (about $31 versus a $75 list price). When it arrived, I was a bit surprised at how light it was. I also bought the twin frying pan set, and the 12-inch pan has a very thick plate on the bottom, which makes it a comparable weight to an All-Clad pan of similar size. The 10-inch pan and this pot seem a bit lighter than equivalent All-Clad products. This initially caused some concern. Others have pointed out that the pot lacks the helper handle. The photos that are provided carefully crop off the helper handle, but the rivets that attach it are still evident in the photos and are absent on the product that shipped. (Amazon, would it really be that difficult to get a high school intern to take or scan a picture of the actual pot? Really? It is not that I was expecting or wanted rivets, just that after so many comments you could perhaps address the matter.) I don't know if the handle was on an earlier version of the pot and removed to reduce the cost. Perhaps manufacturing it in Thailand also reduced costs. At least in this case the product seems well made, and the cost savings result in an affordable fairly priced product.

The first few cooking attempts have been very successful. The curved corners at the bottom are very useful for dishes like risotto and polenta (and would probably be useful if you were making oatmeal for a small army) that require frequent or continuous stirring. I can imagine a number of other dishes that would benefit. The handle of the Infinite version of this pot is very thoughtfully designed. The cutouts where the handle joins the body of the pot limit the amount of metal through which heat can flow, and for stovetop cooking the handles do not get excessively hot. Although I have not used the pot in the oven, the ability to expose the handles to temperatures as high as 500°F is a bonus, and an advantage compared to the newer (Elite?) line, which has more modest temperature capabilities.

Despite warnings in other reviews for other products from this line that the nonstick was not very long-lived and that one could not use olive oil, this has not been my short-term experience with any of this line of cookware, and is actually inconsistent with the instructions that came with the product. Olive oil is fine, and it is what I most often cook with. Clean-up is a breeze. I will update this review if things change. For most things that I have cooked, the weight of the food was not sufficient to make me wish for a helper handle. For someone who is of smaller frame, I could see that the lack of a helper handle might become an issue if you prepare a full pot of something. I have prepared curries and risottos that have filled the pot and it does get a bit heavy in that case.

If there is any additional disappointment, and it is relatively small, it is that there is no lid. Again, it was not an issue of expecting one. I have enough other cookware that I can probably find a lid that fits, but it would be nice if Amazon/Circulon linked the pan to a specific lid directly in their ad for the product. It might increase the flexibility of the pot and allow use for braising and other cooking methods for which a tight-fitting lid/cover would be necessary. It is not obvious that there is a lid specifically designed for this pot, or at least my limited search for one was unsuccessful.

Overall, for what I paid I think it is a very decent value and the pot functions quite well. If I were just starting out equipping a kitchen, or wanted to buy a friend or child who is moving into their first apartment some decent cookware, this line would be on my list. Would I prefer an All-Clad? Maybe, although my experience with All-Clad is that their nonstick coating peels. Would I prefer Mauviel? Yes, but not the $300 price tag or the handwashing. So I strongly recommend the all-purpose pot as long as the reservations that I have listed aren't things that will bother you or affect your intended uses.

Best Deals for Circulon Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick 4-1/2-Quart Extra Deep All

This pan is great. It's big enough to use for many things like stir fry, making soups, boiling or making other one pan dishes. The size is almost 11" across at the top and 5" deep. I just bought an induction cook-top and really love it. I have an 8" Circulon Infinite fry pan and frying eggs and bacon for breakfast is fast and easy.

The quality of these pans are excellent compared to so-called name brands. The handles are heavy and solid chrome and the induction base is aluminum clad over steel. They are well worth the price and you can use them with any type of stove.

Between this pan and an 8" Infinite skillet I cook everything from fried eggs to stir fry to making gumbo. I cook everything now on my induction cooktop. It is superfast and doesn't heat up the kitchen.

I recently purchased a burton deluxe induction stove for cooking at work on occasion. I needed somthing to saute onions in for the burgers we were doing. Initially I tried my steel pans, ok I guess. Then I tried this and loved it! It heated evenly, carmelized my onions well and cleaned up super easy. Ok, it does not have a second handle. But its deep, so you have no mess and its small enough so it only needs one. I liked it so much I bought another. It's just the right size for stir frys.

I've used my Le Creuset enameled cast iron cookware for over 10 years; I'd be lost without it. The excellent heat retention and even heat distribution allow you to cook over low-medium heat; you'll save energy and your cookware will last longer. But who am I kidding?--I bought my Le Creuset pans because they're pretty and oh so French! That they're energy efficient, sturdy, and easy to clean are just bonus points.

Although I own a set of the cobalt blue pans, the heart shaped red pan with lid is my favorite Le Creuset piece. It would make a great Mother's Day or Valentine's Day gift; then again it would make a wonderful present to yourself!

I have collected all of Le Creuset's fruit and vegetable shaped cast iron enameled casseroles. In my 40+ years of cooking these casseroles are at the top of my list for beauty and functionality. They are beautiful to display on a table or on a kitchen counter and very practical in cooking delightful casseroles, soups, stews and other wonderful dishes. The color that they can add to a kitchen brightens every vist there. The exterior and interior enamel coating is very durable and easy to clean. I have cooked a multitude of dishes in these casseroles and have found them to be excellent in heat conduction and preventing "hot spots". The wider and lower shaped casseroles are a little better in spreading the heat.

The warranty against defects of 101 years will certainly last beyond my expected needs but it is nice to know that I have the protection since these are not inexpensive purchases.

The comments of guests served from these casseroles is always positive and never fails to bring a smile to my face.

There is a drawback to these whimsical cookers and that is the rim of both the top and bottom of the casseroles. There is no enamel on these rims and they can rust if not dried immediately after hand washing. They are dishwasher safe but I do recommend that you hand wash and dry immediately. I also recommend that you let them sit out for an hour or so to air dry before storing them.

When wet this casserole can be very slippery and the handles on the bottom and top help in preventing dropping them. Be really careful!

Finally, closely inspect your casserole when it arrives. My first garlic casserole had a two inch crack in the enamel. I did not have to contact Le Crueset since Amazon.com immediately sent a replacement to me and had the defective item picked up at my home at no charge. I commend them for standing behind the products they sell.

The single best pots for doing rich chicken dishes and the like. Conducts heat perfectly, well-balanced and very easly to clean. So many great meals have emerged from these pots that I tend to cook more frequently, especially the more slow-cooking or complex dishes.

I inheirited one of these pots and then bought another. Since then I have excused all similar imitations from the kitchen.

If I had to equipt my kitchen with 3 cooking pots/pans, this would come right after the skillet and sauce pan.

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 2-Quart Heart Casserole, Red

Of all the 2 quart Le Creuset specialty pieces (pumpkin, tomato, etc.) this was the one that caught my eye. I resisted it several times at a nearby Le Creuset shop, but when they discounted it so that the price was about what I'd pay on Amazon, I gave in. I only wish I would have bought it sooner.

Unless your kitchen is totally austere and devoid of all decor, this is one piece you will want to keep out at all times. You cannot look at it without smiling and just feeling good. As far as actually using it, it has all the wonderful qualities for which Le Creuset is so well-known. Whether on the stove or in the oven, you'll love the even heating and the smooth enamel finish. When it's time to serve on the table, it becomes a conversation piece as well. At 2 quarts, it's a great size for small recipes. Clean up is fast and easy.

So, beauty and function in a quality piece of cookware, and all for a reasonable price. What more could one ask for?

I have had this pot since about 2001. I bought it for the macaroni and cheese review. I don't remember how much I paid for it, but it has been worth it surprisingly. I admit I only used it to make mac and cheese the first few years. Then I found out it makes brussel sprouts, spaghetti sauce, and now RICE, perfectly. I actually reach for this pot on somewhat of a weekly basis now and it still looks brand new. The handles are very ergonmically useful. It holds an air-tight seal while cooking, so rice cooks up perfectly without spilling over on the stove. Stores food well in any temperature.

This is a hand me down pot for the future generations. Friends always compliment me on the cuteness of this pot as it sits on the stove during cookings. I am glad I bought it. It cooks 3 cups of rice and surprisingly mac and cheese is not so bad in such a deep small pot. It fills nearly to the brim without boiling over, since it is air tight.

If you do not treat this pot delicately and just use it for anything including side vegetables, you will find that it is very useful. There is hardly a scratch on mine and I consider it everyday ware now. Hope this helps!

Thought I would write a review as I have been using this new KitchenAid Pro Line food processor for 2 months now. It's a very good machine, a real workhorse. I am a professional chef, recipe developer and food blogger so it gets a lot of use.

Here is my experience. I use it mostly for the ability to puree and mix. Hummus, pesto, marinara, dips, soups. Just used the slicing blade to slice through a cabbage for slaw and tacos in seconds flat. Good power. And a nice feature, smart design, is that you can adjust the thinness or thickness of what you are slicing on the outside with a little lever. Very helpful. And the ultra-wide tube design is great for slicing whole and larger items.

After using food processors with push buttons for decades, it took me awhile to get used to the dial design on this machine. I did not like it at first, but I am used to it now and it's fine. You get both pulse and steady on, and the ability to control the speed as well, slow to fast. I usually leave it on fast.

The appliance garage is really large, which could be a challenge for people in very small kitchens or apartments. You would have to be creative about storing your accessories, maybe in a drawer without the garage. I put mine in one of my pantries with drawers that roll out and it's nice. All accessories are organized, protected, and in one place (and the Breville offers that too, and not quite as large).

I need to order the Parmesan blade today. Smart idea, but extra cost as mine did not come with it. On the Cuisinart, the grating blades have finger holes to handle the blades. Problem is, you don't get a uniform grate. You get chunks of cheese mixed in with fine grate, a huge detractor in my book. Drove me nuts when I tried that machine. I took it back. The KA has the same finger-hole design, but they have solved the issue with a special blade.

All parts are dishwasher safe on the KA Pro Line, although I prefer to wash my blades by hand. The lid fits nice and tight with a good seal and is easy to put on and take off. I like that the workbowl is clear and not tinted gray so you can see better. The steel knife blade fits in snugly. You push it down and it locks in, nice when you are done processing and want to pour out the workbowl. The knife doesn't fall out. I also have the Breville and that blade wobbles. Doesn't fit as snug, and sometimes I get extra liquid in the bottom of the workbowl that does not mix in. Its sort of under the blade, which bugs me. Seems that all ingredients should mix in consistently. Having said that, I still really like the Breville. Good FP and more affordable for most folks.

The smaller inner workbowl and smaller blade is nice for small jobs. I did a small batch of pesto with it this weekend.

If you are new to using a food processor, the amount of parts and accessories might seem overwhelming at first, but this is not just a basic food processor. It's got greater capabilities for people who really love to cook and create a wide range of foods.

One last thing...for those of you who are cracking your workbowls, I can't imagine what you are doing! I've used a food processor for 30 years and have never cracked a single workbowl.

Hope this helps!

Have the older version, so I hope they have made some improvements to the bowl quality. The motor is great a workhorse, I had to replace the bowl a few times due to cracking, now I am forced to buy a new machine, cos they do not make the old bowls fit the new models. May get the breville sous chef, no more kitchen aid for me.

I have a square cast iron pan which had a glass lid for 20 years. Unfortunately it broke and this lid is the only lid I could find and now have a perfect match even though it was intended for another pan. I'm very happy to have it complete the set.

First of all this is called a lasagna roaster and to me that means 9x13. This isn't 9x13 and I most likely won't be using it for lasagna. However, it is a beauty! The most delicate shade of pale pink you can imagine, with a good weight to it. This roaster comes packaged beautifully in a box that I will keep for a long time. It's almost like getting a free gift (the box is so nice!) I love collecting pink items for my kitchen and sometimes they are hard to find. I'd recommend this to any "pink" fan.
