After using this product, I am thoroughly impressed. All three pieces are sturdy, and the rubber-esque grips are comfortable to hold. I especially like the features of the spatula; namely the bladed edge(great for testing the done-ness of a grilling steak) and the bottle opener. After all, a well-made spatula in one hand leaves another hand free for a refreshing beverage. Preferably one with wheat, malted barley, and hops. I would highly recommend this grill set.

First--these tools are so nice I don't want to use them, because I know they will get dirty! I like to be in charge when I grill and these tools are comfortable to use. Did I mention that the spatula has a BOTTLE OPENER. How awesome is that? The glove is heat resistant, while I would resist any urges to arrange your own coals by hand--it definitely is helpful for turning meat for a longer period of time and getting those rebel hot dogs that find their way to hard-to-reach places. I will definitely be putting some serious mileage on these tools---great stuff.

Can't ask for better, but I'm biased they are red the non metallic parts prevent heat touching even the slightest part of your hand, a problem I've had with other wooden accented grill sets. The curve in the tongs make it easy to grab multiple hot dogs or brats and the teeth provide great support for pulling steaks off. The spatula's surface area is ample for any size burger, chicken etc. Go get it, you won't be sorry.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart 3-Piece Grilling Tool Set with Grill Glove

After this shipped I found out that there were similar sets for half the price at home depot. I thought perhaps that the quality of Cuisinart set was better which would explain the higher price but when I received them I was very disappointed. The metal bends very easily and so I'm constantly bending them back into place. Go to home depot or other stores and see what you can find before you buy this item.

The metal handle inserts were popping out on arrival on two out of three tools. This is badly made, low quality tool set, unpleasant to hold. Returned.

Perfect size and weight for a 12" skillet. Keeps the bacon, chops flat for even frying while preventing any splatters. High quality materials. You won't cook bacon again without this indespensible utensil. Easy 5 stars for this great product.

W. Hooper's review is right on! Bacon cooks faster, flatter, and with much less spatter. This truly is the perfect size for a 12 inch pan ... wouldn't want a different size/shape! Clean up is a sanp. Proper care (seasoning before first use, and oiling) is required, but it's easy enough to do. Also great for grilled cheese/panini sandwiches.

Best Deals for Norpro Cast Iron Round Bacon Grill Press

Well made. Useful size and weight, although it could be just a little larger in diameter. This thing gets really hot and holds that heat for awhile, as you would expect with cast iron. However, it would have been nice if designers had provided some insulating material around the top of the metal supports for the wood handle. Really need a glove when using this to avoid coming in contact with the very hot metal handle supports.

Honest reviews on Norpro Cast Iron Round Bacon Grill Press

It's round, it's firm, and it's fully packed! Consequently it was delivered in fine condition. You can tell it's a bacon press because it has a raised relief pig on it. Without the pig it would just be a press. And we all know that the press is biased these days. Whereas a bacon press should be unbiased. And this one is nicely flat, with ridges on the bottom to promote appropriate grease expulsion during the cooking process.

I had carefully selected this item based on extensive measurements of my main bacon frying implement, "Old Reliable". Old Rel is a 10 inch cast iron frying pan of uncertain provenance. Amazon.com carried three bacon presses, but this one would make a perfect partner to Old Rel, based on the principle of similar diameters.

I seasoned the bacon press according to directions. I must say that the seasoning directions did not work. After following them twice, the bacon press still had a raw cast iron smell to it. The directions appear to be a compromised attempt to season the bacon press without having to burn the handle in a hot oven, or take the handle off. I may need to remove the handle and submit the rest to the fiery depths of my oven for an extended time -suitably anointed for the ordeal (the bacon press, not me). Meanwhile I shall endeavor to persevere, and hope that over time the succulent bits of bacon fat will provide the perfect seasoning through normal use.

I lay the cold strips of bacon into the cold frying pan. I turn the heat on. I lay the bacon press gently over the bacon. I wait. Soon, the sizzling sound begets an odor, and the odor a salacious longing for my favorite breakfast treat. After several minutes of cooking (and longing), I lift the bacon press. Lo! There be flat cooked bacon! As if by magic it transfers to a plate already draped with paper towel for drainage. The bacon cools and dries for 60 seconds. I admire the bacon's flatness, its planarity, evenness, flushness with the plate. The bacon is flat as a pancake, flat as a fluke, flat as a flounder, flat as a board, flat as my hand! But my rapture ends as I cannot stand it anymore. I devour the bacon! And it was good. (No cast iron taste.)

Stay tuned for further adventures in pressed sandwich land!

I've had mine about 8 months...works great.

Made of cast iron with wood dowel handle.

8 5/8 inch diameter

Handle attached with 2 screws

I took the handle off and seasoned mine in the oven a few times using bacon grease.

Only gripe is the handle.

It should be more securely attached.

If you don't grab the handle in the middle you can hurt yourself.

I'd buy it again.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program It comes in the factory box, so if it is a gift, be aware of this as it might ruin the surprise. The quality and sturdiness of this appliance is evident immediately out of the box.

The instruction book has a bit of a recipe book in the front of it, so you might check that out if you don't normally read instruction books.

It is very straightforward and easy to use. It heats up very quickly, and sears to perfection. The directions say to let it heat for 10 minutes before using but I've not waited that long.

I love the way the plug has an "O" in it so you can hook a finger in to unplug it. I wish all appliances were like that! It's a cord of decent length too, and it's well insulated. The top detaches from the base. I had no problem detaching mine. Reattaching, now that was a bit of a problem until I realized you have to PUSH DOWN on the turning handle and then turn, like a childproof capTHEN it was easy.

Clean up is greatit is highly nonstick. The only potential problem that I see is that there is a bit of space between the handles and the wok that food could fall or drip and that could be hard to clean if it dried. Of course, the WHOLE thing detaches from the base and it can be put in a dishwasher.

To store you can put a couple of paper towels in it, and place the cord on those, then put the lid on upside down. It is BIG though, so storage could be a problem.

We plan on using ours outside a lot this summer, as it will be perfect on the picnic table on hot days when we don't want to heat the house up cooking. I'll prep early in the day, then cook and serve from the wok itself for evening meals by the pool.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Generally dinner time at my house is our adult son, our teenage daughter, my husband and myself. This wok is perfectly sized for a nice amount of stir-fry with lots of veggies and leftovers to pack in lunches.

Pros:

It easily fits 2 lbs of cut-up chicken and 3 bags of frozen vegetables.

Good non-stick surface, use wood or bamboo utensils.

The base detaches the pan very easily for cleaning up.

The lid has a vent, turn the knob to open it.

The knob doesn't get too hot to handle while you're cooking which absolutely thrilled me.

The probe fits in easily and securely.

The cord itself is long enough that you don't need to be right on an outlet to use it.

It's a grounded plug

The plug has a hole in it to put your finger through and pull it out. Even better, that design feature is big enough for my husband's fingers.

It heats up fast.

Heats to 425 degrees on the sear setting

Very easy to clean using a soft dishrag, even after cooking something like teriyaki with sugar in the sauce.

Cons:

It's big. That's a plus for a family like mine but could be a storage issue for people with less kitchen storage space.

The lid is a bit heavy, which shouldn't be an issue for most people, but I do wish it had more than just the knob to pick it up with.

The cons aren't enough to make me dislike this. Cooking with it was very easy, and with it's size and temperature range, I was able to cook a meal fairly fast. I know that my family will use it often, especially in the summer when I don't want to heat up the whole house with the stove. It's a good, reliable brand, and it's a great size for family cooking.

EditedAfter 6 months of use, I still love it. Also I'm doing things like frying donuts for my family more often because it's so easy to clean up and doesn't take as much oil as a pan with straight sides. The temperature control and how hot it gets makes frying food in it really easy. I wouldn't have anticipated that, I just thought about stir fries when I got it.

Best Deals for Breville BEW600XL Hot Wok

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I don't even like to cook, but I love Asian food so much so I was delighted to get a wok. I wanted to try out all the recipes that I go to Thai, Chinese and Japanese restaurants to buy. I'd never heard of Breville's brand name, but the product looked pretty easy to use. In person, it's pretty good quality and lighter than it looks.

Cons: The screw on the top came off way too easily. It swirled around to open and close, but I didn't really see the point of it having the little tip in the top. At one point, the screw came out altogether, and I had to guess my way back to putting the accessories for the top back together. I'm not quite sure if I did it right because the instructions don't guide you through it.

The lock on the bottom of the wok is a pain. Once you cook something, you either have to lift the entire wok in order to pour the food into a dish or tip the wok to the side to unlock the wok. However, the instructions say to turn the wok over completely to unlock, so be careful with banging it if you choose the latter. If the wok is pretty full, this can be a bit of a task. I wish the lock was on the side instead of the bottom so cooks can easily unlatch it.

Pros: The wok bowl is easy to clean and is even easier to cook with. I was very happy with the appearance and texture of the stir fry with soy sausage I made. It was fresh. The soy sausage was slightly crispy like I like it. The latch on the temperature control probe is easy to maneuver, and setting the temperature is just as simple.

Cooking with the appliance is a breeze. It's assembling the product and getting the food to the plate that needs some work.

Honest reviews on Breville BEW600XL Hot Wok

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The manufacturers offer this wok as an alternative to a gas range and a traditional wok. Since I have the latter, I thought it would be fun to do a side by side comparison.

The electric wok is far more efficient than the traditional wok (uniform heat), however it does not lend itself to tipping and flipping of cooking food...which is part of the fun. You definitely need the correct cooking utensils to stir food. If you have a laminate countertop, you will need to protect it from radiant heat. The electric wok is more difficult to wash and store, but for the right household, it can make a great culinary addition.

Happy cooking!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program UPDATE as of 7/19/2011: The rubber bumpers on the bottom of the base that keep it raised off the counter have long past gone. This means that the knob that attaches the base to the wok itself is now in direct contact with the counter. It's really sexy (NOT) to be in the middle of a searing hot cooking session, to have the base pop right off. Meanwhile the size and clunkiness makes attaching the base an exercise in awkwardness. It can only be done when said wok is completely empty, and clean, and cool to the touch. Else, you're in for a world of hurt.

Over time, the base has become more and more onerous a job to attach to the wok, making me seriously have second thoughts every time I need to heave it out of the cabinet. It's come to the point where I do use it when I literally have no other choice, but sincerely wish that I had a better option that didn't cause me so much strife. In fact, the base + wok issues are enough to tell me that buying one is a Very Bad Idea.

-----------------------------------------------------------

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

Nonstick surface: It is so nonstick that the sticker on the inside of the pot did not stick. Very nonstick. I barely needed a scant few drops of oil.

Speed of heating: Takes about a minute to get up to full, screaming hot heat. I do a lot of South Indian cooking, which requires the same dome shape of the wok, and high heat that Chinese wok cooking requires. When I threw the oil into the pot (to pop my spices in), the oil got up to heat very quickly. My mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and coriander seeds all popped beautifully without burning. Then I threw in the stems of 1 1/2 pounds of collard greens that I bought earlier that evening. Perfectly wilted down in about three minutes. I added the leaves. Perfectly wilted in another two minutes or so. In less time than it took to boil my pasta, the collard greens were done to a turn. Also, I didn't need to put the greens into the pot in stages. The wok would have comfortably accommodated the greens, stems and all, without a problem. All you have to do is cover the lid so the whole thing wilts a bit, an then you're back in business.

THE BASE STAYS COOL. This means that if you have finicky counter tops, you can still use the wok on them, because the base doesn't heat. Too awesome!

There's a reason this piece of equipment costs what it does: because every single penny of the purchase price is worth it.

EDIT: Made popcorn in it. It takes longer than when I do it on the stove, but I didn't have to stop and dump out the popped kernels in the middle of cooking, like I do with my other pots. Also, it kept the kernels from burning. Very nice.

Down sides: The base and pot itself are large and taking charge. This means that if you're used to traditional Asian cooking techniques, which involve you lifting the pot up off the flame to fine tune the heat, you're out of luck. This also means that if you plan on serving the food in a container other than the wok, you're going to need two people: one to hold the wok up over the serving dish, and the other to transfer the food itself. It's way too big to do it on your own. The cap to unscrew the base is directly on the bottom of the wok, making it impossible to do anything while the wok has food in it. Instead, you have to wait for the whole contraption to empty, cool a bit, flip the whole thing upside down, then undo the base. Putting the base on can be a little awkward.

The temperature dial is not written in degrees, but rather in arbitrary numbers. This means that unlike other electric cooking pots (friers, woks, pans), you're not going to get fine tune control of the heat by adjusting the temperature on the dial. On the other hand, my stove also has the same arbitrary numbers on, so it's not like I don't know how to adjust the heat based on said arbitrary numbers.

All that said, I'd still say that the wok is worth the purchase price, because it does such a fantastic job. At home, I have a four burner gas range, but sometimes I have really big pots on the stove, rendering the other two burners useless. This wok is big enough to feed an army, and doesn't take up huge swaths of my stove.

This rack fits in my All-Clad 'lasagna pan', which is actually and smaller and MUCH less expensive version, of the full-sized All-Clad roasting pan. This rack is easy to clean and holds a large chicken, capon, or small turkey with ease. Even though I only use it once a year, during the Winter holiday's, it's worth every penny.

I bought this rack to fit in an All Clad flared roasting pan that I got from Williams-Sonoma that originally came with an attachment for roasting a chicken. I went to WS to see if they'd just sell the rack, but no luck. After searching online for a while and not being able to find the same one I saw in the store, I settled with this one, knowing it was for the petite roti pan which had a rack that would also fit in my pan. When I got to the cart to checkout, the picture had changed to match the one I was originally seeking. The one that I wanted ended up being shipped (not the one pictured here, but pictured in the cart), and it worked out great. My only gripe is a "made in china" sticker which I could not get off cleanly and left a bunch of residue on the rack.

Best Deals for All-Clad 3014 Rack Nonstick Petite Rack for All-Clad Petite Roti

What I got was not what was pictured. The picture shows the handles on the ends and the rack standing off the bottom holding the meat out of the grease. What I got had the handles on the sides and no standoffs so anything being roasted is sitting in it's own grease. Also, the dimensions are completely different and it will not fit my pan. Based on my experience, I would not order any rack shown because you don't know what the hell you're going to get. I have ordered a lot of stuff from amazon in the past and have never had a bad experience. I would stay away from racks. My wife says she will find some use for it somehow so I give it one star.

Honest reviews on All-Clad 3014 Rack Nonstick Petite Rack for All-Clad Petite Roti

This All Clad rack is sturdy and nonstick. I have been looking for a rack like this for over a year to fit my All Clad Roasting Pans. This one is just what I needed. No more soggy roasts and chickens ... The best news is that this rack fits all of the All Clad roasting pans that I know of.

I had a granite 16 qt kettle, that I really liked, but after a year of use, the granite all chipped off, so I needed another pan. Even though this pan is only 2 gallon, I really liked the shape and decided to give it a try. It is the perfect size for a single batch of jelly, it is very easy to scoop out of and the last little bit you can pour out, because it has a pour spout. I ordered this thinking I would probably send it back, that it would probably be the strength of a pie pan, boy was I surprized. It is made out of 18/10 stainless steel and is a good quality pan. I used it all day and found it very easy to work with, it has a bail and a helper handle and a pour spout. At $34 it was a very good buy.

I ordered this pan in the midst of a jelly/jam making (and other assorted food in jars) frenzy. One of the old school make do or do without crowd, I had been using a big Calphalon Dutch oven to make jam because it is heavy enough not to burn the sugar at high temps. But after the millionth time of cleaning jam spatters off the walls, floor, and stovetop, I did some research and ordered this CucinaPro. It is simply beautiful...deep, heavy bottom, but light to lift and handle, and cooks jams perfectly. The smaller base boils quickly and the wider top provides lots of surface for evaporation. And it cleans up like a dream. As for the size...two gallons is huge for a home cook. That means no spattering of hot sugary mess. That means double batches of salsa. It will also mean clam chowder for a big crowd, I suppose, but I can't get by the beauty of the thing for jam making and canning right now. There aren't a lot of tools you REALLY need for canning...but this one has joined my list. Oh, and did I mention that the Amazon price is less than half other vendors?

Very big pot, conducts heat well. Have used it for making jam, blanching beans and other harvest, and making pears in syrup for canning. Found it just right for my needs and very useful. The pouring handle, carrying handle, and pouring lip are useful too.

Honest reviews on CucinaPro 9909 Stainless Steel Maslin Pan

I love this pan! I have started cooking jams and preserves (following in my mother's footsteps!) and this is the ideal pan to use. I just have a normal stove, and this fits on one ring just fine. But it is nice and tall, and a really good shape, and so fits a lot of bubbling jam inside! Next batch will be home made marmalade...

This is a good double boiler but nothing great. I was expecting a bit more, but for the price and free shipping I guess I can't complain. I don't know if they are all like this but my top pot tends to slip around a bit on the bottom one. The grove isn't deep enough to hold it fast enough or something. Also, it would have been nice if they had designed the handles where they were close enough together to grasp with one had at the same time, but it's still ok. I know I sound like a general complainer, but I'm usually about 150% satisifed with everything I buy from Amazon and this one is only about 95% so, I'm happy but not estatic. Hope I haven't made your seach worse :)

I originally got this, because another reviewer commented that the upper section was perforated, more like a steamer (I wanted to make Christmas pudding) than a double boiler. I had also seen the product displayed on various sites and it appeard that this was true. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found it wasn't perforated. Still, as a double boiler, it works fine. The metal is a bit ligher in gauge than I'd like, but unless you are intenionally trying to damage it, it should stand up to normal use.

The pans are wonderful. Heavy and even in cooking. The lids are horrendous. They have rust forming on the stainless steel and there is water sloshing around in the area between the glass and the stainless ring. Only had them for a couple of months. Contacted Chantal and they said they had never heard of this before. Although I have read other reviews that say the same thing. Now I am supposed to send all the lids back and they will supposedly send me new ones. Meanwhile..... The offer to replace them came after my third contact. Not worth the $$ or the hassle.

Great quality solid stainless steel, not to heavy durable clean and great price for the set. You can use the bigger one if you have a party or lots of people coming over. Honest reviews on WMF Perfect Plus 8-1/2-Quart and 4-1/2-Quart Stainless Steel

I have had these for about a month. It is so totally different to the jiggling kind that I was a bit apprehensive (old dog/new trick).

I wanted a stainless pressure cooker, and a high quality one.

This set has exceeded my expectations. It is heavy enough, but not excessively so, enough to give me confidence to stand near it under pressure, but not so heavy that it is inconvenient.

I was particularly pleased that it was made in Germany, because of their reputation for quality, and I am not disappointed in the quality

I have used both sizes, and have been very pleased with the results.

Made my chili in the 8.5, very fast, tasted just like it always does in less than half the time.

Made stuffed pork chops (never would have thought this was possible) came out very good.

The only disappoint is that I can't find an additional pressure cover. Enjoying these so much I would like to use both at once, and try more recipes. I used pork chop recipe for hippressurecooking web site, very innovative recipes, not just steamed veggies

I purchased the 4-quart saute pan a few months ago, and I have used it at least 3 times a week since then. I agree with the other reviewers that the taller sides are a big advantage over the 3-quart pan. This allows you to toss your cooked pasta into the sauce, poach meats and do various other tasks without worrying about the liquid spilling over, which is what concerned me about the 3-quart pan. I found that the 6-quart pan was far too large for my burners. I have cooked pasta sauces, chicken breasts, chicken thighs, meatballs, poached chicken, you name it, in this pan. It is extremely versatile and worth the price and the amount of space it takes up in the cabinet. If you have limited kitchen cabinet space, as I do, I think that this saute pan, a large non-stick skillet (All-Clad has a great one in its stainless collection), the 3or 4-quart sauce pan and a large Le Creuset french oven is all you need for most stovetop cooking jobs.

I am a big fan of All-Clad (have several of their pans) and bought this pan for my father, who's becoming quite an adventurous cook since his retirement. We tried it out right after Christmas making a tomato sauce for homemade pizza, sauteing the onions and garlic to a sweet golden brown before adding the crushed tomatoes with puree. My father was particularly impressed with the fact that the pan distributed the heat so evenly that nothing burned or stuck despite being left unattended at times. The size is perfect for sauteing lots of things simultaneously or providing lots of surface area for a quick reduction. And the lid fits nice and snug--it could definitely be used as a braising pan, particularly in the oven. It's now his favorite pan and I'm sure he'll make lots of great meals with it!

My pasta sauce and a lot of frying start here. This pan is very deep. It fits two hallibut steaks perfectly with room for building a sauce. I think my sides are 3 1/4" high. It came with tongs and a splatter screen which come in handy.

It is an impressive pan -beautiful and heavy. It heats evenly and quickly. I love All Clad quality. Diswasher safe. To keep it sparkling, use Bar Keeper's Friend.

This saute pan is A+! The surface area is generous and I really like the higher edges to help prevent too much of a mess when mixing from within the pan. The weight is just right and the quality for the price is right on!

I have always used bargain pans from discount stores and wondered why they didn't cook evenly! After reading reviews for All Clad, I decided to invest in pans that would last a lifetime. Wow, what a difference. Everything cooks so evenly and browns perfectly without burning. I took everyone's advice and heated the pan first, added olive oil, and started cooking. To clean, I add a little water while the pan is still hot and it bubbles off the stuck on bits, making it a whiz to clean. Will never cook on anything else!

Wusthof's reputation for quality knives, coupled with easy cleaning, sold me on this kitchen shears.

Contrary to the description, no plastic cap or screw removal is involved... over the normal cutting range of motion, these function just like any other quality kitchen shears... but thanks to some very nice machining of the joint, they come apart if the blades are opened all the way to 90 degrees.

The bevel machined into the joint seems to clamp the blades together as the shears are reassembled, ensuring that the blades fit closely and cut well. The handle is comfortable and symmetrical, so it should fit left or right hand equally well.

Perhaps shears aren't quite so glamorous as forged knives, but this is a well thought-out product and well worth the price.

There's a recipe I do that requires me to butterfly a chicken essentially cutting out the backbone. I've done it with cheaper German-made kitchen shears and it actually broke in my hand. This Wüsthof is a must have for this recipe it works very well. And the clean up is really easy: just take it apart and wash. Simple, easy to clean, tough, and essential.

I read a lot of reviews before I purchased these shears. The thing that was mentioned over and over again was how easy they came apart for cleaning. What they didn't say is the the shear come apart constantly when you're using them. For example: I was cutting an uncooked chicken apart and the shears opened (fell apart) 7 times. It was very aggravating. The plus size of the shears is that they ARE very sharp and should be easy to keep sharpened. I've opted to buy a different brand and style.

These replace an old pair of Fiskars shears, and it is useful to note a couple of differences between the Wusthof and Fiskars products. The Fiskars had a larger handle for the fingers and a smaller one for the thumb. The Wusthof is a totally symmetrical design, so it doesn't matter how you pick them up (nice when I am in a hurry) and left-handers can use them as easily as right-handers. Both come apart, but the Fiskars had a large and kind of awkward looking pivot while the Wusthof shears have a smaller and smooth joint better because it doesn't catch on things when you cut and it won't trap dirt. I looked at a couple of other shears when I bought the Wusthof's. One pair had a bottle opener, and I was concerned this would catch on things and collect dirt. The Henckel Twinshear was certainly nice, but pretty pricey at $50.

The Wusthof shears are positively reviewed by America's Test Kitchen and this is deserved. They are a quality product. They are made of German Solingen steel, which is a high quality steel that holds an edge well. The blades have small serrations and there is a section near the pivot for cutting more difficult objects (e.g., chicken bones). They cut very well. To me,they are a good size not too large or small. There is a pliers-like area below the handle that is intended to help with opening bottles. I have pretty large hands and find the shears fit comfortably.

These shears come apart easily for cleaning and, as other reviewers noted, the pivot joint is beveled to tighten the blades as they slide together. One reviewer noted that they are dishwasher-safe. I was always told that you don't want to put cutting blades in the dishwasher because it diminishes the tempering of the steel. Wusthof recommends hand-washing and I will be following that advice (as I do with all my knives, food processor blades, etc.).

Overall, I am very pleased with these shears. They are moderately priced, work well, and look like they will last many years.

These are essential shears. Scissors that do not come apart are not good for food; because, the food gets stuck and rots. These scissors come apart when you fully open them; and, they clean VERY easily. .

Followup: After washing in dishwasher; these rust. I bought some kitchenaid scissors for a tenth of the price that do not rust.
