This mug is beautiful! The Lenox Holiday series is elegant with it's ivory white background and generous 24k gold banding. The gold is not just on the rim of the mug but on the handle as well. It is not a heavy, clumsy mug but neither is it frail feeling either. Drinking from the mug is an exercise in elegance. In our family we always had Norwegian pastries on Christmas morning and we drank our tea from the lovely mugs. It made Christmas morning even more special.

It made me sad to read the only other review on these wonderful mugs. I would say the mugs were not the problem--I would say there are 3 people who didn't appreciate the beauty they held in their hands.

It is designed with no one over 5ft 5in in mind at 5"10" I could barely get my fingers, which are slender, into the correct position. I wanted to purchase 4 of these mugs, and was happy to find them on Amazon Prime. I already had 4 and wanted to add 4 more to complete my service for 8. Here is the weird part. I was only allowed to order three of these no explanation why. Thought "well, OK then, I'll order 3 and then put in another order for 1." NOT. I was told by Amazon in no uncertain terms that three was all I was entitled to. I resorted to having a friend order one for me and I repaid her for it. I have never run into something like this with an Amazon purchase. And I never could find out why they did this. Who orders just THREE of any china or glassware pattern?

That said, the product was exactly as described; shipping and packaging were fine. Arrival was quick.

We purchased this block after deciding that a) We had more knives then our old block could hold b) We had upgraded our knives to Henckels c) It looked fairly attractive in the picture.

This item looks great in the picture, what we received left us feeling a little disappointed. The picture illustrates nice wood grain with even finish and a 'beechwood' quality texture. What we received was a block with uneven finish, made from birch (I think). (Made in Canada) Much less attractive than illustrated.

There are an adequate number of slots for a basic knife selection. However, forget about using the carving fork slot unless you have a Henckels fork. Most other forks have a curved surface and won't fit the slot (we tried). Not so bad since it can be used for a sharpening steel instead.

All in all, not a bad purchase for the price. It's functional, but loses points for attractiveness.

Attractive block with a Henckels' logo to inspire brand loyalty ;-). Looks good and does its job well. Holds a honing steel, kitchen shears, two large bladed knives, four medium bladed knives, and two small bladed knives. Some items may stick out the back, but the open-backed design grants the luxury of not having to worry about blade length (this may be common in knife blocks, but this is my first one).

There are little rubber pads on the bottom which keep it stable and prevent it from scratching your counter-top. The only issue is that the block can really only hold 8" knifes at the longest. The holes for the knifes extend all the way to the back of the block, and if you try holding an extra long large cleaver or bread-knife it will poke out the bottom.

I would give Weston's customer service a 5 star rating, but not for this grinder. I purchase this grinder on June 11, 2013, received the grinder within two business days later, and as of today, I can not grind a boneless chicken thigh without it getting clogged. There's no problem grinding the meat; the ground meat just backs up into the Auger in the grinding head until the head gets so that full the excess meat gets stuck between the grinding knife and the grinder plate. It's almost as if the grinder is operating in reverse, even though it does not have a reverse function. So, every time I ground a chicken thigh, I would have to remove the grinding head, scoop up the ground meat in the head, clean the Auger and knife and then unclog the grinder plate. Well after several telephone calls to Weston's customer service, they are sending me a new grinding head and parts to the head. I have to say this grinder certainly does not live up to the Weston brand name. Their customer service was excellent, very responsive and eager to fix the problem asap. If the new parts do not resolve the problem, this grinder is going back to Amazon.

To be fair, I purchase this model based on positives review from a different website. I could have just purchased a lemon.

June 21,2013 The problem is resolved. No new replacement parts needed. Weston customer service sent me photos on how the blade should be positioned in the grinding head and based on the pictures I realized I didn't position the blade properly. I wish they had sent the pictures before instructing me to use a rubber mallet to firmly tap the front ring nut so that the blade and plate are firmly flushed against the grinding head to stop the clogging. Well, I felt I had to revised my rating from 2 stars to only 3 stars for the following reasons:

1. Once I correctly positioned the grinding blade, the grinder goes through the meat like butter. It's fast and not too loud. However, when I dismantled the grinding head to wash the part, the grinder left whole pieces of meat at the end of the auger, the end facing the output where the blade and grinding plate are located. Yes, it's no big deal to have those pieces of whole meat go through the grinder again, provided it was not so hard to dismantle the grinding head.

2. It's not easy to remove the grinding plate so you can wash the plate, auger, blade and the inside body of the grinding head that housed all the parts. I was told by their customer service that once I remove the front ring nut the plate should just fall out. Well, not in my case. After almost 30 minutes and two broken steak knives, I was able to pry the plate away from the grinding head by inserting a steak knife into a small gap between the plate and head. In order to get the small gap, I had to turn the head so that the plate is facing downwards and then shake the head very hard.

All I can say, yes it grinds well, but taking the head apart to clean is not easy.

Oct. 2013. We got this grinder to grind a large amount of meat on one day and it performed flawlessly. It took about 9 hrs. to do 450 lbs. of beef ground twice. It never even slowed down. We have only used it that one time so far but it sure seems like it will be able to do anything we could want to do. I read some reviews before getting it and they talked about grinding bones, but we didn't use it for that, so I wouldn't be able to comment on whether it could do that or not. The only issue we have had, is when we got it, my husband wanted to clean it thoroughly to get it ready to go and he took the cover off the machine and when he put it back on and tried to turn it on it didn't do anything. He got to looking at the manual and discovered that all the pictures inside the manual show the cover situated with the handle to the back and that is how he put it on, but upon further inspection he found that one of the handle bolts sits right on a part of the motor that keeps it from turning, so when he took it back off and put the handle to the front like it shows on the front cover of the manual, it worked fine. We would recommend this product to anyone looking for a meat grinder.

Nov. 9, 2013. So, yesterday my husband shot a deer and we had to process it quickly since the temperatures were going to get into the 60's. Again, a flawless performance. We ground 135 lbs. of venison in approx. 4 hrs. We did grind it twice and it is a little harder to feed the ground meat through for the second grinding but the initial grinding is very quick. It is fairly quiet and is not irritating to hear it grinding for several hours at a time. The feed tray edge is kind of sharp, so if you are using it on a higher surface like we do and rest your arm on the edge, your arm will probably get sore like ours do. Overall, for the price, I think this is a very good grinder.

We have all 3 sizes. The small and medium began to tear after a few months just where the tip tapers. These are metal coated with silicone. The design does not stand up after flexing so many uses and begins to split exposing the metal inside to your nonstick surface. We loved these and are so disappointed. The largest omelet spatula is still going strong!

Granted I love this smaller size spatula, but I go through one a year it seems. It's probably the most used kitchen tool in my house but over time, the metal becomes exposed and it's time to replace it.

Skip the cheaper oxo nylon version and go with this silicone turner. This is a fantastically useful tool when baking (removing cookies from the baking sheet or the smaller loaves from a baking stone), sauteeing or stir-frying (turning and moving vegies and meats in the frying pan), flipping pancakes, and aiding in clean up, when scraping the sticky leftovers from the pan into the garbage or disposal. I use this turner with the larger model instead of a pizza peel to get pizzas off the baking stone, with a lot of success.

This tool is so handy that I've got one in each size (regular and large), and I need one more to have on hand when the others are in the dishwasher. I accidentally left my turner at a friend's house while baking cookies. I quickly got it back, but she'd already used it a few times and fell in love with it. I told her to try Amazon and get the 4-for-3 discount. And unlike the nylon version, this one handles heat without melting. The only problem with silicone is that it sometimes holds smells after washing, but luckily, it doesn't transfer smells.

Love this spatula, but in one year, have thrown away 2 already when the metal broke through the silicon at the curved edges. Used only for turning omelettes and saute veggies. It should last longer!!

I'm an avid ice tea drinker and I agree with previous reviews that the 6 1/4 quart size is more than adequate. I didn't realize how big it was until I received it. The one size smaller would have been fine, but this one will do just as fine. I've used it several times now to brew jasmine green tea and I have no complaints on its functionality. I usually keep tea in it over a few days and there is no sign of rust. My previous teapot started showing signs of rust at about this point with tea sitting in the kettle so I am pleased with the Beka. It does take a while to boil due to the larger volume, but brewing good tea takes time.

A couple of notes to consider... The metal is not as thick as I thought that it would be at this price point, but there's issue at this point. Secondly, the kettle had a small ding near the bottom. It's not very noticeable and probably more related to quality control than anything else. The original packaging doesn't seem very sturdy. That's probably when the ding came into play. Cheaper kettle come much better packaged.

Other than the notes, I'm generally pleased with the purchase.

The pots and pans are quite thin, but they have very nice and thick stainless steel disks attached to the bottoms, so they were heating evenly. The nonstick ceramic was good and really non-stick for about a month I used the set.

Unfortunately, then one of the handles on the pot fell off just as I filled it with water to boil. I am so very happy it didn't happen when the water was hot. The handle was attached to welded housing with a screw, but it seems like the thread was stripped off so the screw didn't have much to hold on to. The housing itself was quite small and not very deep.

I really liked the set until it broke.

I bought it here an Amazon from Maximum Discount seller. When I got the set, the smallest lid was mismatched (blue metal instead of silver), I wrote to the seller, but they didn't respond. After the handle fell off, I made a claim with Amazon, and it was resolved quickly.

I really like this sauce pan and I use it a couple of times a week. It is great to have a non-stick pan when I'm cooking grits or oatmeal for breakfast. My one and only complaint is that the ceramic coating is a bit too thin. If you baby this sauce pan it might last a lot longer but that's not how it works in our house. If you put this in the sink and someone comes along and drops in a spoon or puts another smaller pan in it or something bumps up against it on accident then it will leave a scratch or a dent or there will be a hole in the coating. If on the other hand you wash and dry this immediately after each use then it should last a long time. The cost is reasonable so buying one of these every year might make sense to some folks. When mine gets real worn I'll get another one.

I purchased one of these a while back and hands down, it beats just about any other "gadget" I have in my kitchen. I just recently discovered the NordicWare Tender Cooker. I bought mine used on eBay and it's black (read: older). Apparently they no longer make them in black, but I think that it's really spiffy looking. Before I bought the cooker I went to the NordicWare website to get more info abt them. I live in Mpls, which is where the NordicWare factory is located and after I received the cooker I went to their factory store to buy a gasket & cookbook b/c those two items were not included in the eBay offer. Those items were very low in cost, so the entire amount that I spent was still really reasonable. When I cook porkchops I place them on end like slices in a loaf of bread. Inexpensive cuts of beef turn out fork-tender and everything is so tasty. Possibly it's the seasonings that I use??? I'm a great one for making up recipes in my head and have been delighted with the results. I've actually never used any of the recipes in the cookbook that I bought, but I've read them to get ideas. I highly recommend this cooker. It's so fast and really easy to use. And cleanup is a snap. I don't have a dishwasher, so after the food is removed, I just put warm water in the cooker, let it soak a while and whenever I get back to it, it's very easy to clean. Until I went to the NordicWare website, I had no idea that these cookers have existed since 1984!!! I don't know how I did without it all of these years. I absolutely love mine, use it often and I've not had a failure yet.

My mother-in-law got me one of these many years ago, and I've found it to be the best artichoke cooker ever. You can fit two medium or one large choke in there, set it for about ten minutesas opposed to 45-55 in a steamer on the stoveand voilaperfectly cooked artichokes. My mother-in-law didn't understand, since she's never had an artichoke, but we just love them so it's been used a lot here. One of the greatest things about it is that it easily fits in the dishwasher (don't put the weight or gasket in there, though).

I've had my Tender Cooker since the 80's and it is a wonderful appliance in my kitchen.

Tonight I prepared boneless spareribs (beef). 2 pounds meat, beef broth to cover, minced garlic, bay leaves, beef bullion, carrot, onion. Nuked for 20 minutes.

I prefer to let the appliance cool down on its own thus allowing the pressure to continue cooking the food for 20 minutes longer. Fork tender!! Tomorrow those lovely spareribs will be on the BBQ with some KC Barbecue Sauce.

I bought the Metrokane Rabbit as a Christmas gift for my parents and it has since become the most indispensible item in our kitchen. We drink wine every night in our house, and have been through many a corkscrew, but absolutely nothing compares to this. I've been using these Metrokanes for several years now and I wouldn't want to use anything else. They make absolutely anyone look like a pro opening a bottle of wine, while of course at the same time avoiding the occasional broken cork plunged into the bottle horror.

Whenever we have guests, they always comment on the Metrokane, and as a result I've found it makes a perfect gift. In particular, this silver model is extremely attractive.

I bought both this and the similar version from Brookstone this year. I was expecting a lot from the metrokane, but it turns out the Brookstone is much better. It's $60, but the Brookstone version will last you MUCH longer than the $45 metrokane.

Among the differences: The metrokane is made of plastic, the Brookstone is metal. The Brookstone model comes with two bottle sealers, and it's case is made of very high quality leather-like material instead of cheap plastic. Finally, my metrokane is brand new, and I've already managed to scratch the finish, since it's so cheap.

If you're looking to get a new wine opener, do yourself a favor and BUY ANOTHER BRAND.

Don't waste your time on this company.

My first Rabbit had a plastic handle. When it broke after several years of use, I replaced it with a metal handle Rabbit because it had 10-year warrantee. (I think the first one had a 2-year warrantee.)

The new Rabbit malfunctioned. A mission-critical piece of rubber tore, making the Rabbit useless. I sent the Rabbit to Metrokane per the package instructions. (I paid the postage and also had to enclose a check to cover *their* mailing costs.)

A week or so later, my Rabbit was returned to me without any repairs. Their note said that they couldn't find anything wrong with the thing. I phoned Metrokane to complain. They said that the rubber was not covered by the warrantee. I was told to get rubber glue to fix the thing. I checked the warrantee. Nowhere does it say that certain parts are not covered. Finally they agreed to replace it.

The replacement was defective. The Metrokane rep. copped an attitude when I complained, saying that I was probably using it incorrectly. (Remember, I'd owned a Rabbit and had used it for years, so I'm sure I knew how to use it.)

The company wouldn't send another Rabbit and I refused to spend more money to return the second defective product. I'm using a $10 knock-off now. It works every time.

If you are looking for a well functioning opener, this is not it! Much better "rabbit" type openers are on the market. First is the fact that it is mostly plastic, not metal, so don't be fooled by the metallic appearance in the photo. When opening the first bottle, (with normal cork). I noticed it was much more difficult to use than the old one (other brand) I had. It required extensive pressure to insert the cork, to the point I thought the flimsy plastic handles would break. Then I opened a second bottle with a plastic cork. This almost broke the opener when using upward pressure to remove the cork from the bottle. And after finally getting the cork out of the bottle, (it took two people), the cork would not come off of the screw. I had to manually untwist the cork from the opener. Save your money, spend a little more and get a real opener. This one is nice to look at but not functional! Real Junk, and not cheap!!

This received top ratings from America's Test Kitchen (Cooking Illustrated & Cook's Kitchen). I was skeptical because I have tried about a dozen different grill pans in the 18 months, but none have really worked. This is the best I have used yet.

One was a square-ish pan and the corners snapped and became unusable. A common problem with many pans; they are welded and not stamped or folded. The welds usually break due to the high heat in the grill.

My old favorite is a bowl style; it's decent, but the problem is the top is bigger than the bottom so there is not a lot of actual grilling space. As a result you either have steamed veggies or you have to keep stirring.

The biggest complaint I have about most grill pans is the holes. Either they are too big and things like cherry tomatoes and sliced onions fall through, or the holes are too small. Small holes have many problems: difficult to clean, too many and the food gets too charred, too many holes and the metal separating the holes breaks...etc.

This pan is the best pan I have used yet. It it made of one piece with NO welds; the sides are bent up to create a lip and give the user an edge to flip and turn food. Also, the holes are not actually holes, they are slits. This means that one does not have to worry about food slipping through the spaces; from time to time sliced onions get stuck, but not really a BIG deal. It works great for Portabella mushrooms though it is not just for veggies, it's great for fish. Another big seller is that this is stainless and easy-ish to clean. It's not going to be non-stick easy to clean, you will have to scrub, but with a Brillo pad and elbow grease it's not a big deal.

The only complaint I have is the size. I have a two burner grill (unless I can talk my wife into getting a new grill next summer) and the pan can be a little too big for this type of grill. This "complaint" is not that big of a complaint since I usually don't do veggies at the same time as the meat.

If Weber updates this pan, I would recommend making it available in a smaller size and upgrading the metal; it's a little light weight. It's not bad, a little more heft would be nice.

If you have a grilling fanatic in your family (even if it's you) then buy this pan. It's great! You won't be disappointed. Get this pan.

When I was growing up in the Midwest the outdoor grill meant only one thing, MEAT! Fortunately people are becoming more sophisticated in what they choose to grill. Now it is not unusual to find fish, shrimp, mushrooms, asparagus, you name it, cooking right next to burgers and steaks.

The only problem is, of course, smaller foods can drop through the grill and onto the fire. I have purchased screens and disposable grill pans before and they worked just okay. When I saw this pan and how reasonable it was priced I had to get it.

I like the build of this pan, very heavy-duty without being too thick. The raised sides keep the food from falling off and makes the pan easy to carry. It takes a little effort to clean (I use a SOS pad) but that is to be expected.

I use a small Weber--the Q200-and it is just big enough for cooking for 4-5 people. This grill pan fits perfectly on it but if I want to cook both meat and veggies at the same time I would need a bigger grill. I thought that I would make this little video to show the pan in action. Thank you!

This was chosen by the equipment testers at "America's Test Kitchen"/"Cooks' Country" and I saw it reviewed and rated on one of their PBS shows. They rated it highest. It is a really efficient way to grill vegetables. I just clean zucchini, peppers, mushrooms, asparagus, etc., toss them in a very small amount of olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper and fresh herbs. I arrange them on the grill pan for my husband to cook after he's finished cooking the meat or fish. The result is delicious, cooked just to the preferred doneness and without heating or steaming up the kitchen. The small openings in the bottom of the grill let the vegetables brown and carmelize just the right amount but keep them all together and out of the fire. (A tip, carry the grill pan on top of a cookie sheet to transport it back and forth from the grill; this keeps anything from dripping on the way to and from the kitchen.)

This pan saved our grill! We have a low-end gas grill that was given to me and my husband as a Christmas gift. No matter what settings we tried it would either burn the food or leave it raw. With this pan, we can turn the heat up to where it should be and the food doesn't burn! The only downside is that it is a bear to clean. Other people have recommended Easy Oven Off but I haven't tried that yet.

If you are looking for a cheap authentic handcrafted wok, this it it. However if you are looking for quality craftsmanship you may want to spend a little bit more time searching. The rivets attaching the handle to the wok are not smoothed over nor are they consistently even on the inside of the wok. The handle is a cheap piece of wood (mine had a small split) that is held to the wok by a small screw. With a bit of self-tightening, it did feel like it was solid wok. It does cook like a wok but for the money I might as well go to Sysco and pick one up.

It's a steel authentic Wok from china, nothing better than that!

what I did was, first washed and scrubed all the oils off (repeated), burned in my own peanut oil, washed again, and cooked,

I really don't have complaints with this wok, I use it about 6 times a week,

it's cheap and taste amazing,

Pan is good for 25bucks

and honestly I've never seen metal rust to a point where it can't be used within one hour >_>

What can I say that the title already hasn't. This thing rusted only 1 hour after I washed off the factory gunk that came on it. I have never seen anything rust so quickly in my life. Tried to heat and season it with oil and within 5 minutes the wok started turning brown as if it was burning. Biggest waste of $25 ever, do not buy.
