Today I tried out this beater. It is fabulous. It fit like a charm into the mixer. I began making my cookies and used slow speed all the way to high and never once needed to stop the mixer to stir as I used to do. I highly recommend it. I purchased this one over the plastic because of the reviews of people that had issues with durability. I'm glad I waited. You won't be sorry if you buy this. My mixer is the Artisan KPS150.

Held up against the factory beater, the metal part of the flex edge is an exact match with the silicone flex edge extending out a bit more than the metal blades footprint. Still I needed to adjust the bowl a bit to get the best most even bowl scrapping top to bottom.

Cleaning mix off the beater is no more or less difficult than the metal beater as it's the same shape. It is dishwasher-safe.

The part is metal with a silicone edge. The silicone appears to be a good heavy quality, very pliable. It seems like it should be very durable and last a long time. There is a one year warranty on the beater.

All of the third party competitors I see on Amazon are made of plastic/nylon. Some reviews reported snapped/broken beaters under heavy mixes. Even if the warranty will replace the beater, it's a hassle I do not want to deal with.

Unlike those from other vendors, the flex edge is just on one side. Perhaps this is to lessen the load on the motor?

This is a genuine KitchenAid brand product, so it does not void your mixer warranty. Some reviews of those with warranty issues on their mixers not being honored due to the use of third party beaters concerned me.

Be very sure your mixer model number is listed on the box or description as supported by the beater. Each blade box lists the exact models it works with. Google "KitchenAid Flex Edge Beater" and your mixer model and you should get a hit as to which model Flex Beater fits your mixer. Using the wrong blade could damage your mixer and/or mixing bowl.

I have seen this and other Flex Beater models at Macy's and Bed, Bath & Beyond for both 4½/5 and 6 quart bowls on bowl lift and Artisan mixer head tilt models. They are out there.

If you find your mix gets flung out of the bowl by the beater, just drop the speed down a notch. This seems like common sense to me, but I see reviews of other third party flex beaters complain of this. Maybe this does not work well for all mixes, but I have not had an issue with the couple of bread and cake mixes I did so far.

Overall, I find it works well at grabbing what's on the bowl sides and mixing it in once the bowl height is adjusted properly. There is no need to stop and scrape the bowl down. I have not found a reason to go back to the standard beater. The quality is just what you expect from KitchenAid. I feel it's worth the price.

I have used this beater twice now and both times I have appreciated it. It's great for creaming butter and sugar. No more stopping to scrape the bowl. And the instructions say you can put it in the dishwasher to clean, which I've done with no problems. I would buy this beater again.

I bought this after reading the mixed reviews, and I have to say it is amazing! I had NO problem with batter being thrown out of the bowl and the sides and bottom were scraped down well. I appreciated not having to stop and scrape the bowl after each addition. As with everything I mix, I started with the lowest setting and worked my way up. Worth the money.

I recently purchased this after getting tired of stopping to scrape the bowl. I had considered the other products from other manufacturers and was happy to find something made by KA.

A big plus for getting this from KA is it's not a plastic unit that can break other brands been broken since attachment is all plastic. This is a solid attachment with a plastic sleeve.

The original "French White" Corningware was made of Corning's famous pyroceramic glass, which could be used on the gas stove, put directly in the freezer, put under the broiler right from the freezer, and oh yes, also used in a microwave. And it was very unlikely to shatter if dropped. If you pounded on it with a hammer and nail you might have gotten it to break.

When World Kitchens bought the license from Corning, they decided to halt production of a line of cookware that would take anything and last forever, and dupe customers, especially brides, into thinking the stoneware "French White" was the same thing as the wonderful French White pyroceramic cookware previously available to their mothers and sisters.

The pattern is very attractive and can be used with any decor, and they do offer many sizes, but this stuff is not, repeat, really not, what people mean when they say "Corningware."

Le Creuset can do most of the above mentioned, but it being metal you cannot use it in the microwave. Stoneware cannot go on top of the stove, and repeated trips from the freezer to the oven will eventually cause it to craze and crack. And stoneware will also chip, and break if dropped, etc. Pyrex glassware cannot go on the gas stove although you can take it from the freezer to the oven, and also microwave it.

The only product which could do anything was pyroceramic, and World Kitchens has chosen to remove it from the market because it is "too good."

They have recently brought back a few of the old square shapes, with the Cornflower, or plain white, calling it "vintage," but the French White shape is not making a reappearance yet. If you want it, email them and ask for it!

Meanwhile, don't buy this stuff. Get Le Creuset for cooking and roasting (yes it is expensive but it lasts forever and cooks beautifully), and reheat things in Pyrex in the microwave.

You can't go wrong with CorningWare. Dishwasher safe, oven safe, freezer safe and microwave safe. I have several other pieces of CorningWare, but I wanted the roaster it is perfect for whole hams, smaller turkerys, chicken etc. Cooks beautifully, doesn't stain and you don't need additional serving pieces, just bake and serve in the same dish. Plus, the French White line is a crisp white and is heavier than some of their other styles.

We had received one of these as part of a set about four years ago. My wife dropped and broke that one a week ago, and within 30 minutes of cleaning up the mess, we had ordered this replacement--that's how much we like it. Over the years we have gone through several nonstick pans, which seem to wear out quickly and not be able to withstand much heat at all. We very much like the Swiss Diamond Saute Pan, which is nonstick at any setting of the stove we use with it, even high heat. The relatively high sides and 12" diameter make it big enough to cook a large amount at one time, good for leftovers. The glass lid is also very good, with a setting in the knob which allows us to vary the amount of steam escaping. The handle is quite fine and does not get hot in use, something we were initially concerned with for a metal handle.

This pan seems to be as indestructible as a non-stick pan can be. This is my second Swiss Diamond pan, and so far I am impressed. I have only had the other pan for about 6 months and so far so good. Finding non-stick pans that hold up to both high heat and to abrasion has been a hard task. So far I like the Swiss Diamond pans and as long as they continue to hold up I will slowly replace the rest of my pans with them.

I wrote the Swiss Diamond company and asked for an explanation of what the nano-composite material was made of.

After a week or so, I received a polite reply from Allan Wolk, an employee in the U.S. His email informed me that, "Our patented nonstick surface uses a nano-composite of real diamond crystals and PTFE; it is applied using a computer controlled plasma gun at very high temperatures."

Naturally, my attention was immediately drawn to the PTFE. The acronym sounded familiar. What was PTFE?

A quick search of Wikipedia provided the answer: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PTFE)

As Wikipedia explains:

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a fluoropolymer discovered by Roy J. Plunkett (1910-1994) of DuPont in 1938. It was introduced as a commercial product in 1946 and is generally known to the public by DuPont's brand name Teflon®.

Huh? Teflon? Wait a minute. Didn't the Swiss Diamond website just claim that the product contained no Teflon?

If you look back at the Swiss Diamond website screen capture, the careful wording of their answer now becomes clear. It states, "The Swiss Diamond coating does not contain any Teflon taking into consideration that "Teflon" is a trade mark, made and owned by DUPONT."

So the pans don't contain Teflon, they just contain the chemical called Teflon. It's like saying a nuclear warhead doesn't contain any plutonium, it only contains nuclear fissionable material.

For the manufacturer to insist the Swiss Diamond pans contain no Teflon whatsoever when it is made primarily from polytetrafluoroethylene, the chemical widely known as Teflon, is extremely deceptive. In fact, the intent of the Swiss Diamond company seems to be to deceive consumers by omission of the facts. The FAQ document on the Swiss Diamond website, for example, does not bother to say something like, "But our pans do contain PTFE, the chemical known as Teflon." It simply insists they contain no Teflon and moves on to the next question.

It seems that Swiss Diamond goes out of its way to give the impression that this product is free of Teflon chemicals and is surfaced primarily with diamonds. That's the impression I got, anyway, and I read the promotional materials several times before purchasing the pan.

Very good. Had it for a few months now. The pan we got had some scratches on the bottom (not on cooking surface) we didn't notice until later. It has a very good nonstick surface and is easy to clean. Absolutely not trouble with anything adhering to it. It comes with a lid that is very high quality as well. You definitely get what you pay for.

I mix a lot of royal icing. This has a nice sturdy handle that doesn't fatigue my hand while mixing, and the blade part is sturdy and flexible. I like the length too. Long enough for me to keep icing off my hands while mixing in a two cup Pyrex measuring cup.

And of course the fact that it is all one piece is a must in my book. No yucky germs getting into he blade/head.

I bought the Joseph Joseph spatula, solid spoon and flexible turner. I'm very pleased with them all. The weighted handles work exactly as advertised. They also have enough grip to rest on my pot handles when they're dripping with sauce.

I absolutely love Joseph Joseph and every utensil in my kitchen is theirs. That said, I have had two of this particular spatula for 6 months and am throwing them both out. I love the design of all of the Elevate line, but the quality of this spatula just isn't good. The spatula part is really brittle and has cracked and split all over the place very frustrating. I have never put it in the dishwasher, only hand washed, and there just isn't any reason for it to break like that. I wanted so badly for this a fabulous spatula, but it's not. I give it 2 stars for design, but 0 stars for durability. Sad.

I used this item for the first time today. I made some chicken I had soaking in a mostly buttermilk and jalapeño brine for 3 days. After 3 days of anticipation you can guess that I was really hoping this item would come through. It did a great job. The rack sits almost 5 inches off the grill so if you use big drums you will need a fair amount of clearance. Anticipating this I removed the top rack inside the lid of my grill that I usually use to cook dogs and brats. Depending on the size of your drums you may not even need to do this. Anyway...this little rack is big on quality. It is pressed into pretty heavy gauge stainless steel and it surprised me with its heft. Its legs fold under for easy storage and they are not light or thin, they are heavier gauge as well.

I made 12 drums that were of large to extra large in size so I did every other hole and alternated the rows. This allowed me to maximize space. if you are cooking medium to small drums, or organic, you can probably use every hole, but that is a lot of chicken. Unless you are having a party you probably won't need 24 drums. The large number of holes is for the other purpose of this item, roasted Jalapeño peppers or poppers. I have not yet made them, and honestly I don't know if I ever will; but I can see how this product would probably be ideal for it, as long as your peppers aren't too skinny.

All in all this item makes grilling chicken drumsticks super easy, you don't have to worry about turning them since they are vertical, because of this they cook evenly and more thoroughly in my opinion. Interestingly the meat kind of gathers even more so on the fat end, kinda like a chicken lollipop...mmmm delicious.

I purchased this spoon set about 2 weeks ago and have used them several times under medium heat in sauce pans and a stock pot. So far no signs of melting like a cheap set of plastic spoons i had to throw away. the colors add a bit of funkiness to the kitchen as well. Have also ran them through the dishwasher after every use and have noticed no issues all around. Work quite well with my non-stick pots & pans. I recommend this if you're looking for a cheap, yet durable set of mixing spoons.

I've been looking for a long time for a simple gadget that can enter my standard oven and produce a decent rotisserie. I love this grilled skin... This device produces excellent chicken. Juicy. Crisp. Place some potato or other vegetable below the chicken so they can benefit from the dripping fat and you have a great meal. Cleaning is also fairly easy. A few comments (I'd rate the product 4.5 if this was possible): 1. Storage is a bit cumbersome due to the back handle. 2. I bought 2 of these Lodge logic Pre-Seasoned Fajita sets because I was tired of cooking steaks and other meals and putting them onto regular plates and having them get cold. If you have ever been to Apple bee's and ordered any of there skillet meals you know how nice they are while you are eating, your meal never gets cold fast. So I decided to buy my own and try them out for home use and I love these skillets. I give these skillets 5 out of 5 stars. They are very nicely made and come with the heat board and the little oven MIT so you can grab it off of the grill or out of the oven. Since I bought 2 of them I have had some family members and buddies over and I pulled these out and heated them up on the grill and then put the steaks on them and brought them to the table after they tried them out they loved them and are now trying to get there own for there own homes. We love to make our own fajitas (especially in a slumping economy). We used to cook the meat and vegetables and set them on a plate. By the time we got to our second flour tortilla, the meat had become cool/room temperature. Finally, our fajita meat stays hot through the whole meal. The only issue I have, it is VERY difficult for me not to put dish soap on these and wash them as I do other dishes. They always feel sort of oily fron the oil I have to put on them before I heat them in the oven. The handle hot pads are great. Careful....They come out of the oven SUPER hot, but it makes the experience so authentic.

As a previous reviewer noted, precut meats are readily available (and most of us use them most of the time). On the other hand, I for one am not going to pay a dollar or more a pound premium to buy a chicken that's already cut up when I can do it myself perfectly well, thank you. If you are the type that will take the extra few minutes after shopping to cut up large-quantity meat and freeze it for future use, a cleaver can save you some real money over the long run.

Having said that, this cleaver is about as good as it gets. Well-balanced, very sharp. and able to easily cut through bone, this is as good as it gets for the home kitchen. I recently upgraded from a Henckel International, and the difference is profound. While the Henckel is perfectly fine for light duty and playing "Yan Can Cook", the Wusthof is the one you want for serious business.

The Classic 6 inch cleaver belongs in any serious set of home or professional cutlery. It has numerous uses from overkill smashing of garlic cloves, use as a scraper to pick up prepared food and place in bowls, mixer or pan. It can quarter poultry, separate beef or pork ribs with ease. If you buy large cuts of meat, you can cut into smaller portions for extra savings.

The Wusthof 6 inch Cleaver is a high performance, high quality kitchen tool. The handle (as in the whole Classic line) is comfortable. The finish on all Wusthof knives and instruments is excellent and will provide long years of use and easy cleaning.

Best Deals for Wusthof Gourmet Cleaver

Be ready for this to be a heavy tool. I bought another 6" cleaver for my 4'9", 80 pound wife because this one was too heavy for her to handle for regular use--it will cut a chicken back in two in one stroke! I use whetstones to put an edge on cutting tools and with this quality of steel, surgical sharpness is a reality. The thing about Wusthof quality is you are not just buying a knife or cleaver for one life-time. This one is going to the Philippines, where butchering at "home" is still a reality--and this cleaver will be handed down for generations to come. The only cutting blade steel products to ever buy are made in either Germany or Sheffield England. Chinese made knives make a really cool sound as they bounce off of the trash can.

There are really two main competitors in the high-end mainstream kitchen knife market: Henckels and Wusthof. Those who have used both usually have a preference. My preference (and therefore bias you should know about) is for the Wusthofs.

The Wusthof Classic line is the more conservative counterpart to the Grand Prix line. The only difference, however, is the handle style. I personally prefer the Grand Prix, but this is an issue of personal preference. The balance and grip of these knives are as close to perfect as I have found. For those wondering what benefits a higher priced knife provides, one benefit is that the blade (or tang) is one piece all the way through the handle. This makes the blade much stronger, and less likely to snap.

This particular model, the 6 inch cleaver, is a good cleaver. Most people really don't use a cleaver anymore, as they buy either pre-cut/pre-packaged meats, or they have the butcher cut the meat into loins or steaks for them. If you really are going to use a cleaver, this one is my favorite. The weight and balance are very good.

This is the 3rd and last Meat Cleaver I've bought over the past 3 weeks. Its difficult to shop for them online, since the dimensions are commonly left off, and weights are missing or misleading.

The cleaver is a medium weight meat cleaver, so don't expect to cut up veggies with it, it won't.

Its thick and weighs in at 1lb 5-1/2 ounces, just right for cutting ribs and poultry, but not what you want for the heavy duty butchering jobs, go for a large cleaver if you want to do that.

I went to my local kitchen store where they have a Shun Bamboo knife block, and tried it in the cleaver slot, its a perfect fit, having just 1/4 or less clearance in the 4 innch wide slot.

While they give a 4 inch dimension on Amazon, its actually slightly narrower.

Quality is what you'd expect of a Wustoff ... impeccable.

These lids do not stick to stainless steel or glass. i had to push down really hard to get them to stick. i am about to return them back to Amazon. Very unpleased.

Finally, a poacher that has more than 3 or 4 cups. This makes it a lot easier to feed more than one person at at time! This pan is very well made, not flimsy at all. If you spray the cups with Pam, the eggs slide out effortlessly. It's also great to be able to pick each cup up individually making it easier to put them on the plate. I love it and glad I purchased it.

The pictures are a little deceiving. This is not really very high quality construction at all. It's typical cheap Chinese manufacturing.

I have no doubt it is made of stainless steel but the handle is thin, hollow and stamped to the edge of the pan. The pan itself is also very thin. When I put this in the dishwasher, water collected under the knob on the lid so I had to take that apart to let it dry.

It would certainly not be suitable to give to anyone as a gift but it probably would work ok for infrequent use.

I have searched for a good egg poacher for a long time, my family eats poached eggs almost every morning! The six cups are great and the eggs come out easily, we use oil spray. The only drawback is that the handle on the lid gets rusty, because when washed water gets in there. I have taken it apart to clean the rust out, so I believe it needs a better sealed handle.

I bought this egg poacher as I was having trouble poaching eggs the old-fashioned way for my family of 5. As other posters have mentioned, as long as you spray the cups with oil (I used olive oil spray), it does the job quite well. My two complaints are that I haven't figured out how long to cook the eggs (probably my fault, but maybe a result of the weird shape?) and that the eggs end up shaped like little upside-down cups. This may be the price one pays for poaching 6 eggs in one pan at the same time. It makes my eggs benedict very tidy, but it's hard to pretend that they came from a fancy restaurant. The little cups are a little hard to clean as there are lots of nooks and crannies. On the whole, I like this pan as it gets me done with breakfast very fast, but if I were a stickler for tradition, it wouldn't work.
