My lid arrived with the knob as separate parts. It wouldn't stay tight in use. On my last try tightening it, the glass exploded into safety glass bits, leaving shrapnel wounds on my hand. I called the "secret" Amazon customer service number, and was given a refund without having to return the lid (I offered pictures of my sink and my hand). All in the first half hour since the box arrived. I'm still bleeding, but I have no desire to spend the evening at an emergency room.

The pan looks great (I have to clean glass from my kitchen before I can try it), but I don't want a replacement lid; I could have been blinded.

(Doesn't the two stars make you wonder what it would take to get a one star rating from me?)

I bought this as a replacement top. When received it was assembled. After unpacking I did try to tighten the handle which seemed loose but then backed off before setting it down because of suspicion that maybe it was supposed to be that way. In the morning I found that it was totally shattered into a number of pieces. It was fine when set down and was not exposed to any temperature extremes or external stresses afterward. I consider the product design defective and possibly dangerous. Amazon was very quick to give us a refund. I cannot fault them. However, I do feel obligated to inform other potential purchasers since I see that another customer also had a shattering experience.

The lid itself is great ~ we had to go to the dealer in order to get a knob for it though.

We would never order a product from Total Concepts again. Upon speaking to Total Concepts, they were utterly of NO HELP in helping us get the knob ..... which should have come with the original purchase.

I ordered this cover for use with my 12 1/2 inch fry pan which was sold without a cover. The cover fits well, looks great and was delivered quickly however it did not have a knob included with it. Apparently the entire shipment was sent from the factory without knobs but the only solution offered me was to return the cover for my money back. As I had already paid to have it shipped to me, I was not prepared to pay to ship it back as well, and still have no lid, therefore I have kept it and managed to find a knob to fit. It would have been helpful, however, to know there was no knob included with the cover before I purchased this item.

I don't know how it happened but I somehow inherited all these different kinds of wraps. This organizer really helped tame the avalance that was always threatening. I hated trying to find the wrap I needed and risking a cut from the surrated cutting edge when I reached into the pile. With this organizer, the tops tend to stay down and I can see just what I wanted. The only thing I can think of that would make it better is if it were a little deeper so it handled the extra long wrap boxes. Still, I am happy with the purchase.

I bought this organizer about 6 months ago and its done pretty well. My only complaint is that you have to be really careful putting the boxes in or it will go to far and slide right out the back. Also, some of the larger economy size boxes don't fit so those have to go on top. All in all, I'm glad I have it but it does take a little more "be careful" when using than I would like.

I purchased this cup and saucer as a 2010 Christmas gift for a relative. It has held up well, is beautiful, looks dainty, but has a good sturdiness and weight to it. I often drink out of the cup when I visit and while I love it (it's really pretty), I've found the cup handle, which is designed as a butterfly, odd and difficult to hold. There's no loop to put your finger through... sometimes I have to pick the cup up just the right way so as not to drop it, which makes for a cumbersome experience while trying to enjoy tea lol! I wanted to purchase other cups and saucers in the Lenox Butterfly collection, but will be getting the Lenox Butterfly Meadow Blue Butterfly Cup and Saucer Set instead because it has a proper handle.

I hesitated giving this cup 4 stars because it's so beautiful, but the handle is impractical. I would feel uncomfortable serving to guests.

It takes me a really long time to make a decision and I've been looking at tea services for the past year. I finally reached a decision over the weekend and ordered the Lenox Butterfly Meadow 7 pc (really 9 pc, yes unfortunately lids count as pieces too) set and decided to also purchase additional cups and saucers at the same time so my service would be complete. Initially I was going to purchase the exact same cup and saucer sets that come with the tea set but decided I wanted to add a little more character, and talk, to my service. When I noticed that the teapot was adorned by a yellow butterfly I was sold on this lovely set.

The cups and saucers are beautiful and will marry well/add a little color to my all white Lenox Butterfly Meadow Cloud dinnerware. Also, I find the cup to be delicate in look and very sturdy in feel, so hopefully the little butterflies will not break off. I decided to purchase four initially (bought 3 and received the fourth one free, thanks Amazon!), I may purchase two more since the teapot can hold six 8 ounce servings of tea but will hold off for now as I think I am running out of cupboard space:)

These are very nice cups. As usual, Lenox makes quality china.

A few things I don't like:

The color is a little too light, it does not have the cream color tint like the rest of the butterfly meadow collection.

The handle is odd to hold, and there is a bright yellow line running down the center of the butterfly stem, which you can not see here. It looks as if a bold yellow sharpie marker ran down the middle. It doesn't fit with the style/color of any of the four cups.

At last, they are rather large (wide) for tea cups, they look like they could actually be used like small soup bowls.

I only marked down 1 star, because this is very good china... but honestly, the design and style has it's flaws. This would have to be my least favorite of the collection.

Also,the PINK set is the best in color and design (As each plate has a different floral pattern)

This is an incredibly versatile size. I don't know how I survived in my kitchen without it. I've used it every day since receiving it. (Of course, it's been winter. Soups and stews are a mainstay of my home.) This is a heavy pot without being weighty. The base of it is thick and distributes heat well. The lid is well-fitted. Condensation drips back in evenly. The lid doesn't spit water around my cooktop when water is boiling inside. Let's hear it for good design! The handles are small but you can easily hold onto them even with thick pot holders. 6 quarts is a very versatile size. It is large enough for almost all of my stew recipes but still small enough that I can easily store it in my kitchen cupboards. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

My wife says she loves me, and, I think it is because I let her indulge in her cravings for the best cookware around, namely, All-Clad. If you shop carefully (buying in sets, or catching the occasional sale), you can get All-Clad pieces at less-than-full-retail. This is the most used pot in my kitchen. I use it to cook just about everything, including soups and marinara sauces.

For a while, I had a few other brands of pots but I kept reaching for this one, so I gave away the others.

Things I like are:

*Heat distributes very evenly with no burning or hot spots. The only time I've had any burning is when I forgot and left a nearly empty pot on the burner for a few hours.

*Easy to clean. Even when I burned it to a crisp, I was able to scrape off the charred stuff and it is good as new!

This is our fourth All Clad pot. Apart from cast iron, I wouldn't buy any other cookware at this point. Because of the wide base, this stock pot heats up *very* fast on the largest (11 inch) induction element on our cooktop--boiling water for pasta in about a minute. (If you have an induction cooktop, you do have to pay attention to which All Clad product line you are purchasing. Not all of that manufacturer's products come with magnetic stainless exteriors, but both of the high end 'stainless steel' and 'copper core' lines do.) All Clad cookware is expensive, but it is one of those product lines which confirms the maxim: 'you get what you pay for.'

I bought a GE induction range & wanted something a little lighter than my cast iron cookware, so I bought this as a test for Chantal's Copper Fusion cookware. Overall, I am pleased. Many previous reviewers were unhappy with the non-stick coating. I have not had the same negative experience. I pre-coat the pan with a cooking oil spray each time I use it. When done, eggs will pour right out of the pan. A valid criticism in previous reviews is the pan size. I have a Calphalon 10" tri-ply stainless steel fry pan. The Calphalon pan top rim i.d. measures 10", while the Chantal pan measures 9-1/2". The Calphalon pan bottom cooking surface diameter measures about 8", while the Chantal pan measures about 7-1/2". I have not yet found a cooking lid that properly fits the Chantal pan. I used an infrared temperature sensor to measure the temperature on various points of the pan's cooking surface. There was a difference of only about 20 degrees F between the center & outside rim of the cooking surface. This was a lower variance than the Calphalon pan, which registered cooking surface outside rim variation of between 20 & 50 degrees from the center. The Chantal pan is heavier than the corresponding Calphalon pan but, with all the enamel, I expected that to be the case. Although the Copper Fusion line is a little pricey, I will probably purchase additional Copper Fusion cookware based upon the performance of this pan.

It is heavy, pretty and best of all, non-stick as long as you cook properly. I used it make pancake, stir fry meat or vegi dishes, scramble eggs (of course you should add oil and a little water), etc, and it never had a problem. Its handle is very comfortable to hold; it stands out easily in my kitchen and already replaces several other pans that I owned. Strongly recommend it. It is your wise investment.

It's a good size and shape for home brewing, but not a very heavy gauge steel. It weighs about 6 lbs. and has a "brushed" finish like you see in a stainless steel sink as opposed to shiny like silverware. The dimensions in the product description are inaccurate; it's approx. 13.5" wide x 13" tall (not counting the lid).

If you're looking to economize, this is a good choice. I'm sure it will work fine. If you can spare a little more, I'd go with something heavier gauge.

Good stock pot. It's construction is of high quality. The metal is thin, but this aids in rapid heat transfer into the pan. Not a lot of heat is lost to heating the pan. This is doubly helpful when you have to rapidly chill the wort for beer making, the pot won't retain lots of heat. Ideal for beer making.

Several months ago I ordered the round Staub 4 qt. pot with 4 mini ceramic cocottes for myself in green, and I use the 4 qt. pot several times a week. I bake bread in it and get an even, luscious crust every time. I use it for stews and soups and pasta sauces. I wash the pot by hand, dry it immediately and put it away to avoid an accident; however, the enamel is thick and even. The textured, black enamel interior is easy to clean, as is the exterior. The bottom heats evenly without spots sticking and scorching. The heavy mass of the pot allows me to turn down the heat and maintain an even cooking temperature on the stovetop. It's a versatile size and shape and I love the color. When I saw what a wonderful quality this pot was, I ordered a set in blue for my daughter, who is delighted with them. I also ordered a larger round pot for my son and a larger oval one for me for roasting chicken and other meats. If you want an easy to clean cast iron pot that you will use over and over and that will retain its enamel finish, then Staub is the one for you.

Reviews of Lodge L8DOT3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron Meat Rack/Trivet, 8-inch

First of all it's Lodge. It's cast iron. It's American. These are all good things.

But I had to chuckle at a couple of the applications the other reviewers had for this handy little item. This isn't one of the first kitchen implements that you might put on your wish list, but it's surprisingly versatile.

Yes, you can put it in the bottom of your dutch oven, put your meat on top and let the fat drain. Yes, it's obviously a trivet. But I've also used it as a meat press yeah, Lodge makes a couple of presses, and one of these days... but in the meantime, flip at upside down on your bacon and it works fine.

I've also used it as a grilled sandwich press. Put it on a medium burner, toss your sandwich in your skillet, or griddle, then (with tongs or welding gloves) plop this little trivet on top of your sandwich. A couple of experiments is all it takes to get the right amount of heat to brown the top of your sandwich. If you need more weight, put some water in a saucepan and set it on the trivet the "legs" on the trivet keep the saucepan from cooling the trivet and your sandwich is nicely smushed.

But the weirdest use of all time? Olive pitter. No, I'm not kidding. I was making a salad the other night, and I wanted to chop some black olives into it. I grabbed a can of olives and opened it, only to discover that my wife had bought un-pitted olives. I hate pitting olives, but I started in, when my eye was caught by this little trivet and all those interesting holes. I grabbed the trivet, put an olive on end over one of the small holes and pushed with my thumb the pit jumped through the hole and left the meat on the other side. I grabbed a bowl, put the trivet on top and went through that can of olives in no time. Hint the holes are beveled, and the olives sit very nicely in the bevel, but they don't pit as well turn the trivet over and use the "flat" side of the hole.

So there you have it. A kitchen gadget with half-a-dozen uses for ten bucks. How can you go wrong?

Just received my Lodge Meat Rack/Trivet. It arrived in perfect condition and shipping was fast and free. For those who complain about the legs being too short to keep the food out of it's juices please understand that's not it's purpose. It's designed to elevate the food just enough to keep it from scorching. If the legs were longer the same people would complain that it takes up too much room. If you must keep the meat out of the juices make 4 large balls from foil and place those under the meat rack.

If you cook some things in your dutch oven in a cake pan, put this in the bottom of the dutch oven first and it will help keep the bottoms of your cakes and biscuits from scorching--or put it under your roasts or chickens to keep them out of the fat that accumulates at the bottom of the pot. Because of the size, you can use it in all your dutch ovens over 8". It won't work as a trivet for a camp-style oven (with legs) because it's too small, but it's a compact, useful trivet for other hot pans and pots.

They look like regular nylon spoons and nothing on the packaging indicates that they are silicone covered. It just says nylon spoons. I purchased this spoon set about 2 weeks ago and have used them several times under medium heat in sauce pans and a stock pot. So far no signs of melting like a cheap set of plastic spoons i had to throw away. the colors add a bit of funkiness to the kitchen as well. Have also ran them through the dishwasher after every use and have noticed no issues all around. Work quite well with my non-stick pots & pans. I recommend this if you're looking for a cheap, yet durable set of mixing spoons.

Yes folks, this gasket does fit a Mirro model #0406 16 quart canner/cooker. The gasket fit the lid of my pressure cooker almost perfectly. I say almost because when I first placed it inside the lid there was what seemed to be a definite excess of gasket material that I thought would likely cause problems. However when the cooker built up pressure for testing (15 lbs) it held that pressure for 30 minutes with no leaks as the excess material was forced out around, and against the canner, and lid.

I gave it 4 stars because I've no idea how many years, or uses I may, or may not get out of it. However I suspect that it will last as long the canner itself. If so then I perhaps should have given it 5 stars huh. But if not, then what? 3-2-1? Only use, and time will tell.

I love my new knife block. I read many reviews and looked a different types for a long time before I decided on this particular model. I have a wonderful collection of Cutco knives (the best, in my opinion) and wanted to get all of them in one block. This fits the bill. The slots are large enough to accommodate my largest butcher knives and the Santoku knives and I have room for all my steak knives in the lower section. The block is well-finished and not so large that it takes up too much counter space.

Henckels knives that both of us purchased while stationed in Germany. I also had a cheapo set of everyday knives that were ultimately donated. So, we had all these knives, but only a knife block for 8 knives.... So what do we do? Luckily, Amazon sells the Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin 22-Slot Knife Storage Block for a really good price! We originally debated between this block and the Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin 26 slot Bamboo Swivel Blockbut the swivel was the deal breaker. When I received the package, I was thankful we didn't go with the 26 slot block because this thing is absolutely HUGE! I just really hadn't expected it to be that big. That's not a negative, just stating that it's a lot larger than I thought it would be.

Other than that, the block has all of the slots I need, and I even bought the matching steak knives for my set to go along with the new knife block. It's very sturdy and holds everything nicely. If I had to give a con for the knife block, the only thing I could come up with is that it does not cook, chop, or cut for you... But it sure does look pretty sitting on the counter!

Wish I had this years ago. This pot is super. Like all cast iron cookware, it is hard to burn something (if you use medium or low heat) because the heat dissipates so evenly, it imparts a great flavor, is easy to clean, and keeps food warm long after removing from the heat.

You can brown, simmer, and bake all in the same pot. Here is an example.

Today I made a "pot pie casserole." I browned chicken pieces in olive oil, added cream of chicken soup, frozen veggies, and simmered. Then I covered with Bisquick dough and baked to form a crust-all in the same pot.

I took it out of the oven, my wife joined me 20 minutes later (and the food was still piping hot), all in one pot. Then an easy clean up, heat on the flame, turn off, spray with cooking, and it is ready to go for next time.

Great flavor for making spaghetti sauce, etc.

Note: when you receive it, wash in dish water, heat, add and brush with cooking oil (olive, canola, etc) and let get real hot over medium heat for three minutes. Turn off and it is "seasoned." Clean with hot water alone (when you can), put on heat, when good and hot, turn off and spray with cooking spray or oil. This is the original "no stick" cookware!
