My girlfriend had been giving me a hard time about the teflon coating peeling from the bottom of my old cookware and we decided to go stainless. What a great decision. Over all they require less heat and cook more evenly. Clean up is easy with no threat of ruining a non-stick coating and we are both more relaxed about the potential hazard of teflon coatings.

These pots and pans are what I wanted. Now to the review complaining about stainless steel being stained, you have to wash them or at least rinse them out promptly if making tea or any other thing like that. If you do get a stain, use bar keeper's friend and it comes out or like the pamphlet says boil some water/vinegar mixture.

We got stainless because it's healthier than non stick and the one time we had a non stick set the non stick peeled off. Really happy I got what I did for 149 bucks.

We have been using this set for over a month and it it is very nice looking, very nice to use on the stove, and the maintenance is quite simple, but there will be the need to keep white vinager and baking soda at hand to keep the pans looking as new. We like really this set.

This is a great product. Sturdy, easy to clean. The pieces are ideal size. I am very happy with the way it conducts heat. Overall just a great product.

Months ago I started researching glass storage options after making the decision to completely move away from plastic food storage and this Pyrex glass storage bowl set was exactly what I was looking for.

Pros:

-Both the bowl and lid are freezer, microwave, oven, and top rack dishwasher safe.

-Bowls are made right here in the US.

-They're truly airtight & leak-PROOF, not leak resistant like a lot of other storage containers on the market.

-No clicking and flipping of flimsy plastic tabs to hold the lid to the bowl.

-Pyrex 2-year warranty.

Cons:

-If you have several of the same size bowls, like I do, be aware that they don't stack very well. I wish they would do a slight re-design and "flute" the first inch or so of the bowl so it would allow them to stack/nest into each other.

As has probably been the experience of many others on Amazon, I've had all glass containers, and I've had all plastic containers. And I've used plastic containers like margarine/butter tubs so that they weren't wasted. I've had just about every brand of those plastic matching container sets, including the inexpensive ones and the thicker ones.

Unlike some of the reviewers of the all-glass Anchor Hocking square storage containers, I come from a generation where everyone used those little 'refrigerator' dishes and I realize those can't store air-tight. I have some of the newer, much more expensive Anchor Hocking deco-inspired glass containers and I enjoy and use them all the time. But--they don't seal air-tight, and they are also quite heavy.

Pyrex makes two types of these glass storage containers with see-through tops. One series has a plastic see through window on top with a little tab for venting so that it's microwave safe. Mine like that have blue soft rims to seal the glass bowl. The other type, the ones here, have a glass top insert with red silicone plastic rims to seal to the all glass bowl.

I bought a Pyrex brand measuring cup a few years ago that has a red silicone ring on the bottom, and a red silicone lid to cover the cup. This cup has been used almost daily, dropped countless times, and been through the dishwasher even more. It looks, still, like the day I bought it. That was what motivated me to buy these containers.

They are heavy, but in no way nearly as heavy as the Anchor Hocking containers. Heavier than any of the plastic ones, though. Because the lids are silicone they can even withstand baking in an oven, though why someone would choose to do that is beyond me. Naturally, they're freezer, fridge and microwave safe also. They go through the dishwasher perfectly well, and so far mine have, as with the measuring cup, shown absolutely no wear.

I was just getting creeped out by the way that my plastic containers were looking. I don't know if 'etching' is the proper term, but they certainly were showing use--and I have a bunch of them.

There's no doubt that these are more expensive than plastic. But I don't store as much as I used to and a couple of sets of these are proving to have the best of both worlds--the inertness of glass with foods, and the superb sealing quality of silicone rims.

I just got these recently. I bought them because I wanted to get some non-plastic containers that were microwave and dishwasher safe and liked that these are also oven safe and leak proof.

My main complaint is that the size description is incorrect. They are supposed to be 2 cups, but when I got them they definitely looked smaller. So, I tried measuring out 2 cups of water in a Pyrex measuring cup and pouring it into the container, but I had to stop because it would have spilled over. I had read some of the reviews that these were small, but I bought them anyway, because I thought 2 cups actually meant 2 cups. That's unfortunately not the case here. :(

Honest reviews on Pyrex No Leak Glass Container Set with Lid, 6-Piece, Round

These bowls are a great size for lunch. I do disagree with the No Leak in the product name. The lids do get loose over time, so make sure you pack them upright in your lunch bag.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Pyrex No Leak Glass Container Set with Lid, 6-Piece, Round

I'm not going to bother talking about the dish itself, because it's just your standard Pyrex dish that's been around since the dawn of civilization. The important part is the lid.

Most Tupperware-style lids seal around the outside of the dish. That's fine for plastic dishes, because the dish can flex a bit as you pull the lid off, so the lid doesn't have to stretch in order to come off the top of the dish. Glass, obviously, does not flex -and yet, every airtight glass dish I've seen until now has used a lid that seals around the outside, just like the plastic dishes, except that the lid has to stretch to come off. That makes the lid harder than heck to remove, and it inevitably cracks after a few uses.

What Pyrex has done is something that needed to be done a long time ago. They designed a lid that seals INSIDE the dish, so it can be pulled off easily, and the airtight seal doesn't have to stretch at all. AND, they used silicone to make the flexible part of the lid, so it will basically last forever, because silicone is inert to everything. It's even safe to use in the oven, though I can't think of anything you could actually cook in an airtight dish in the oven -but if you tried, at least the lid wouldn't melt.

I bought a couple of these to test, and so far they've passed with flying colors. The most important test I could think of was the Upside Down Hot Water test -I filled the dish with steaming hot water, put the lid on, turned the dish upside-down in my sink, and shook it vigorously -the lid didn't pop off, not even from the increasing air pressure as the hot water heated the air in the dish, and the seal didn't leak at all. I've been waiting years for glass dishes like these.

Both the 6 and 8 quart stockpots are must haves for your All Clad cookware collection. The 6 is great for sauce, a pound of lasagna or rigatoni, soup or stew and the 8 quart is a must have for my favorite meatballs that I cook in my sauce with sausage and steak. At first I didn't think I would need both but now that I do I can imagine doing all the Italian cooking that I do with out them. I can get my sauce and meatballs cooking in the 8 quart and start boiling lasagna noodles in the 6 quart. I love them both.

These pans are made very well, heat evenly, are very easy to clean and are designed to last. All Clad cookware is one of the most expensive lines around and it is worth every penny, it really is lifetime cookware (backed by a lifetime warranty). This pan is a definite must have. Very, very highly recommended! A+++!...

Nothing tastes better on a blustery winter's day than a steaming bowl of homemade soup or stew. And, nothing is better to prepare it in than this All-Clad Stockpot.

It seems that a stockpot is one kitchen item that never wears out, so I'd been making do with what we had. But, when I was fortunate enough to be gifted with this stockpot from All-Clad I couldn't believe the difference!

It has a thick conductive base that spreads the heat evenly, not just where the burner might hit it. And, it has solid stainless steel walls that keep the heat in. The lid fits snugly, and it simmers away for hours emitting the most delicious aromas.

The brushed exterior gives it a great look, and it is made to conform to All-Clad's estimable high standards. Soup's on!

Best Deals for All-Clad Stainless 6-Quart Stockpot

I got this pot to replace an old 5 quart teflon lined aluminum pot of similar shape but with plastic handles, which kept it from the oven without extraordinary measures. The old pot simply did not heat up very quickly or evenly and it's dark interior made it more difficult to see what was going on with braises or pasta cooking.

So, I was often lugging out my 8 quart Le Creuset dutch oven when the smaller lighter pot would be the perfect size, but for the plastic handles.

I have used it a few times since receiving it, and it meets every expectation, even outperforming a similarly sized 5 quart Calphalon pan which was my old favorite when I bunked with a gas range.

This is an incredibly uselfu size and shape, and worth the cost if you cook a lot.

Highly recommended.

Honest reviews on All-Clad Stainless 6-Quart Stockpot

We use the 6-qt pot for everything. In fact I wish I had gotten it before anything else. If I were starting out equipping a kitchen from scratch again, I would start here instead of the 12" frying pan I got first. It keeps the mess in the pot better than a frying pan. This can fry a steak, brown it perfectly, then go into the oven to finish. Perfect for braises. Perfect for soup from scratch. A couple times we challenged it's capacity but I like its low walls, so maybe we'll get the 8-qt next. Lighter than a Dutch oven, cooks evenly, browns without burning. It's the pot that's always on the stove.

I agree with K. Lambert. For $9.95 this set is a steal definitely better than plastic but it's not without flaws. As shown in the photos I uploaded, there are brownish discolorations in all the cups, right where the handles were welded on. I tried scrubbing the stains but they wouldn't come off. I guess it's alright as long as it doesn't spread to the entire cup. The cups themselves aren't that thick and actually give a little bit when squeezed (but who would do that)? The cup handles, on the other hand, are quite sturdy and don't bend. I just hope they never come off since they're just attached onto the cups. The spoons are better, I think. I compared them with my old plastic spoon set and they hold the exact same amount of liquid. I have yet to try washing them in the dishwasher. I don't expect this set to last long but by the time they break I'll probably be ready for an upgrade. Product is made in India.

UPDATE 4-30-2013: I was right about the welds being weak, one came loose. Also, the one cup measuring cup has developed a rust ring around the outside bottom. The measuring spoons still look like they did the day I bought them. I have never had a recipe not turn out due to inaccurate measurements when using anything from this set. I have also not had anything negatively effect my husband's blood sugar when using these. I am still happy with this purchase.

Original Post: For the price that Amazon is selling this set for it is a steal! I absolutely love that I was able to get stainless steel for less than most plastic sets. I received exactly what is pictured and described and am very happy with this. I don't think these are the highest quality stainless steel, but I am no expert. I have exactly what was pictured and described and no better. I am not able nor willing to pay a lot of money for a measuring cup and spoon set, and in exchange for the cheap price I know that I am not getting top of the line. I feel that for this set being made of metal and not plastic the price is wonderful and I am sure that this set will serve me for many years. My husband is type 1 diabetic and you cannot have enough measuring spoons and cups when you are cooking and trying to keep track of carbs. Hopefully these will be less likely to fall off the counter unnoticed for the dogs to grab than my old plastic set (I am missing measuring cups and spoons and have found many marred by little teeth). The only thing that is worrisome to me is how long the welds will hold up for on the measuring cups, the welds do seem sturdy so they may not even be a concern. I may order another set or three!

Do not buy, the edges of the measuring cups are super sharp, I wouldn't let my kids near them. The measurements are way offa US standard cup corresponds to 236 ml and these cups measure 250ml, it is the same for the half cup, 1/3 cup and 1/4 cup, useless for baking. I took them out of box and had a couple of cuts as I was opening the packaging. I contacted the seller immediately, and was told that I couldn't return the item because I had already used them!!!

I had all but given up on the elusive "non-stick" cookwear set. I recieved this set as a christmas present and I couldn't be happier. I have burned cheese, made scrambled eggs, and just about every other sticky thing you can think of and every time clean up is a simple wipe and rinse. I would recomend this set to anyone. I do hang them rather than stack them and use rubberized utensils in them because I don't want to scratch them, but regular use has not caused any scratches or worn areas that stick. I have had pans that looked worn out soon after using them, not these, still good as new after 2 months of constant use, cooking 3 meals a day for 6 people.

It took me awhile to write this review because it isn't that I got a tremendous value, I dd. It is, that, it wasn't extrordinary. I have bought many things refurished, or next to new, but after cooking with every piece this wasn't a superior piece, plain and simple. It wasn't beautiful, it didn't cook any different from a set from a chainstore

As you can see by the other reviews, this is a great pot rack. However I have some very useful information if you want to purchase it. The rack was well designed and the mounts were spaced properly so that you screw the pot rack directly into the studs.

There is a major flaw...the screws that they provide are only 1 1/4 inches long. My kitchen has 3/4 inches of plaster before you hit a stud and the rack is about an 1/8 of an inch wide. That means the screws only bite into the stud a total of 3/8 of an inch. The result...during installation the pot rack ripped itself out of the wall. So I found a better way to mount it.

My solution cost an extra $1.77. I went to Home Depot and I bought five 1/4 by 2 inch lag screws and five 1/4 inch washers. I had previously measured and marked the three mounts on the main unit prior to installation. I then predrilled the holes with a 3/16 inch drill bit. Predrilling is very important, you don't want to split the stud when putting the lag screws in. And of course check your measurements so you don't miss the studs or put in any extra holes in your wall.

Next put the washers on the lag screws and use a ratchet to screw them in place. Once the main portion of the rack was in place I installed the 2 supports, predrilled each hole, and installed the remaining lag screws.

This pot rack is easily 10 times stronger than it would have been with the original hardware. I would hang cast iron cookware off of it without hesitation. It looks great in the kitchen and is ultra stable. I highly recommend the pot rack so long as you replace the original mounting hardware.

Like everyone else, I love this rack. One of the benefits of this wall mounted rack, as opposed to a rack suspended from the ceiling, is that you can hang and remove pots without worrying about unbalancing the rack and having things slide around or fall off. The downside is that this rack may be a bit more work to attach. My building is quite old and the wall studs weren't spaced 16 inches apart, as this rack requires. If you search the web for "how to hang a pot rack" you'll get all the extra info you need to deal with this and other problems not covered by the very brief instruction sheet.

I love this rack! Not only can it hold all your pots, it has a upper shelf as well. I keep my bread up there! It's very pleasing to the eye! Highly recommended! Easy to install too!

Honest reviews on Bookshelf Rack in Hammered Steel w Chrome

I have to admit that I agree with one of the earlier posters, the finish is nto attractive at all. It looks as if it was painted with splatter paint. I've returned the item and decided it's worth it to pay a bit more money for a higher quality product.

We don't have an island or anywhere else in the kitchen where we can hang a ceiling-mounted pot rack, so this wall-mounted rack was the perfect solution for us.

Mounting was easy, but as other reviews stated, I used my own hardware. I had some longer deck screws that I knew would grab hold of the studs better. With those, I could do chin-ups from this thing now.

It fits all the pots and pans from the new set I just bought my wife for Christmas, and it looks great. This rack is an excellent value.

I got this as a replacement dehydrator because the Nesco one I did have was just too noisy and got to the point that I didn't want to use it because of the noise level. The Waring Pro dehydrator is very quiet compared to other dehydrators I have heard in use. It doesn't take as long time wise for the drying to complete and is easy to clean up. Well built and very sturdy. We are a Filipino household & we eat rice every day. This would be our second Tiger & we had one other (to remain unamed) brand. The Tiger is the best rice cooker & worth every penny! The "other" rice coooker always boiled over, gave us lots of crubchy rice on the bottom, was hard to clean & finally just broke.

Our first Tiger lasted 9 years, until the poor little thing just quit heating. We have had the new Tiger about 6 weeks & love it. No crunchy rice even when left on warm for extended periods, no boil over, even with a full pot & is easy to take apart & clean. Also love the retractable cord. Makes it very portable.

We would recommend this rice cooker to anyone who loves good rice & would definitely buy again.

I bought this rice cooker as a gift to my daughter's family because I have one and it delivered perfectly cooked rice for the last 25 years. This cooker arrived 6 days after the order was placed and we used it two days in a row. The only problem is, instead of just steam, a large amount of liquid came out of the steam vent every time we used it. When it happened the first time, I thought I've put in too much water. When I used it today, I double-checked and made sure that the water level was correct and it was still doing the same thing. At this point, we have not decided whether to return it and exchange for another one.

My last Tiger lasted over 10 years.

This one only 1 year. The plastic is cheap soft stuff. I don't mind that the it at all. But come on engineers, Don't use the same cheap soft plastic on the most use parts of the cooker.

The locking mechanism wears out because it cheap soft plastic and I cannot lock the cooker anymore. I have to use a bungee rope to hold it tight to cook and keep the rice warm.

The lid hinge is made of the same cheap plastic. It broke on me last week, when I was turning the cooker.

Where is the good old quality these days...

Honest reviews on Tiger JNP-S10U Electric 5.5-Cup (Uncooked) Rice Cooker and Warmer

My wife and I have probably gone through approximately 4-5 rice cookers in the last 8 years. Granted, none of them cost more than $30, but if we bought a higher quality rice cooker like this one, we would've saved money and frustration in the long run. I like how you can take the lid apart in order to clean it. The dimpled rice spatula keeps rice from sticking onto it. You can keep rice warm all day without fear of the bottom layer burning/caking up.

I have read people's comments about the relatively small diameter (6") of All-Clad's 2-quart saucepan. I find that the narrow diameter of this pan maintains a very hot, moist "atmosphere" in the upper region of the inside, even with the lid off. Because of that, the top of the food in the pan benefits from the radiant heat above it as well as from the physical-contact heat of the bottom and sides of the pan, even as you are adding ingredients and stirring, and with little loss of moisture from the food. The narrowness of the top of the pan helps prevent the wafting away of heat and moisture. (Using a long-handled stirring tool helps to protect your fingertips from the steam!) If you find that you are filling this pot with food, you really should transfer the food to a larger pot. In the 2-quart pan, leave enough space above the food for the "head of steam". A truly wonderful design!

I recently purchased the All-Clad 2Qt. Stainless Saucepan. The pan is heavier than most saucepans I have used in the past, but the added length of the handle more than compensates for the additional weight.

I found the pan to be extremely adept. I found that the heat transferred evenly throughout the cooking process. My ingredients did not scald or burn.

I have purchased premium cookware (I thought) in the past, but the All-Clad is by far superior to what I have. This was my first purchase, but not my last.

Best Deals for All-Clad Stainless 2-Quart Saucepan

This is another of the workhorse pans in my kitchen. The AllClad Stainless 2qt pot is marvelous for cooking sauces that will bubble or foam; for sauces involving fruits that may need to boil. The height allows for ingredients to grow, and the small diameter means you are not waiting for items to heat up. The pot heats quickly and evenly.

Try it for cranberry sauce at the holidays, or any small sauces involving milk or cheese. Remember that the pan does not have a great surface area, so timing and delicacy in preparations is key. Leaving the pot unattended on a high heat is not a smart idea. Keeping the pot with a good warmth, slowly working up the heat of your sauce or fruit is one of the best ways to use it.

The only downside of this pot is that yes, it is difficult to pour from, and the small surface area of the pot (=smaller open area) means that ladles are often too unwieldy for it. So be prepared beforehand to know how you're going to get your sauce out of the pot without making much of a mess.

Have fun in your kitchen!

Honest reviews on All-Clad Stainless 2-Quart Saucepan

This 2-qt saucepan is one of the most versatile things in my kitchen (along with a Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 7-1/4-Quart Round French Oven). Most of the time, I am cooking for 2 people and this pot is perfect for most jobs. I can make a quick pasta or tomato sauce in minutes and a large 32oz can of plum tomatoes barely fills the pot halfway. I also sometimes use it to boil small quantities of pasta, boil a couple potatoes or eggs, blanch vegetables, or simmer a sauce. It gets just as much use when I'm cooking for a crowd, in the preparation of side dishes or sauces. I use it for most several-step meals and a few one-pot meals. It cooks rice beautifully if you do it correctly and pay attention to the heat setting. All-clad pots in general are more sensitive to the stove setting so I always start lower than I might with other pots and increase the flame from there. I use a gas stove and I can generally use it on low to med-low with these pots, instead of med-high to high as I might with other cookware.

They also clean up beautifully and look wonderful on a pot rack in my kitchen. I always wash them by hand and usually use Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Liquid Dish Soap, though occasionally stuck-on foods or stains will require a little Barkeepers Friend and scrubbing. I find this mostly happens with fry pans for me, and is almost never necessary with saucepans and stockpots. Usually a little Mrs Meyers does a great job.

Great investment piece... I've collected my cookware a bit more slowly than I might otherwise as I try to buy quality pieces I love and this saucepan is no exception. Most of my All-Clad pieces are stainless steel, as I like the look and price point. I do have two copper core pieces but I don't find the extra copper cladding and increased heat conductivity essential for most types of pots and cooking needs. The stainless steel is a great option for most pieces, if not all. I may add a 1 or 1.5 qt saucepan to my set in the near future but it's hard to justify when the 2-qt fills so many needs.

I just discovered All-Clad about six months ago, and ordered two of their less-expensive items. I was so impressed with the quality and the functionality -not to speak of the elegant appearance -that I've gone on to replace almost all of my old (VERY old!!) set of pots and pans. I've kept a few that I find useful -a cast iron griddle, for example -but I've bought a new All-Clad piece or two about once a month, and now have almost everything I need, but not all I want. It is made extremely well and so nice to have the insert and the pot together so you don't have to get a separate stainer out from the cabinet while preparing pasta. I love it and use it often.

Bought this item to accommodate the Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 8-Quart pot, which I obtained from a outlet retail store. Now my wife has the complete set. Works great for steaming frozen vegetables.

This should be standard with the stock pot. Calphalon is certainly quality. A silicone ring might be a good add to it for seal against stock pot, but I like it just the same. Can't wait for shimp boil.

This fit perfectly in our large calphalon non-stick pot and worked excellent for steaming lobster! It's a high quality steamer/strainer.

I received this set yesterday and although I wanted to cancel my order because of the shipping amount , i was happy with the quality, so it was worth it. I've had a Vision set for over 20 years and was so brokenhearted when the set was destroyed. The quality and color of this set is slightly different but I love this set and can't wait to use it.

I used this on an electric stove that aparently got too hot for this type of non stick wok and burned off the non stick coating. I am now trying to figure out if it can be restored.

The quality of this silicon molds is fantastic but the size is very very small, I think this are even a little to small for a petit four.

I love this mold. I use it for making peanut butter cups. These are actually 2" in diameter unless something's changed since March 2013.

I received the product so quickly. I didn't spray the silicone molds with anything and my fudge cake popped right out. I will need to buy more or their products.

Honest reviews on World Cuisine Non-Stick Silicone Mold, Hemisphere

item received promptly and is exactly as described. I've only used it for making candies so far, and it works perfectly (and not surprisingly) for that purpose. Chocolates pop out with no problem at all. I'm very satisfied.
