HIC Ceramic 13-Inch Lasagna Pan, Rose

I received this item (in blue) as a gift off of my wish list. I wanted a pan I could use in the broiler and after reading many positive reviews and the America's Test Kitchen recommendation, I decided on this brand. Also, the price was amazing compared with other broiler safe options. It worked great, cleaned easily (although I did have some baked-on food splatters along the top edge), and I was able to use it in the broiler, although I mostly used it in the "bake" mode of my oven.

However, one night after using it in the broiler, there was a loud sound in the kitchen and when I opened up the oven I discovered the pan had split in two. Luckily, the broken dish was easy to clean because it was only two large pieces and did not shatter or shard too much.

Overall, the item was very reasonably priced and worked great until it broke. But even at its low price, I expected it to stay intact for more than 5 months. I am now looking at LeCreuset again because even though their products are expensive, they have not broken and I would rather pay more for an item that will last.

I was extrememly disappointed after seeing the wonderful reviews. I inspected the pan when it arrived and it was in perfect condition. First oven use and the entire pan cracked down the length of it. Luckily my chops still stayed on the pan. Refund handled quickly. Will have to continue to look for this size pan. So aggravating.

I read complaints that this pan was smaller that the specs, but when I received mine and measured, it was spot on. Bakes and cleans great.

Wish it was a bit bigger. It is smaller than I thought. However it has been holding up well so far.

This pan astonishes me. My wife and I are not professional cooks, but good home cooks, to whom food means a lot.

La Chamba is amazing. We roast fruits in the oven, bake/roast meat. We use it on the stove top. It cleans easily, comes with its own special wood scraper. There is no fault in it I can find. I am recommending it to all my friends.

I was very impressed with the pan when I received it. The build quality is good, the size is perfect, and the nonstick coating (ceramic, I was told) looked like it would last forever. But after a couple of months the pan started to stick no matter how I clean it.

I had been using Analon and Circulon nonstick cookware for quite some years. The Teflon nonstick coating eventually all wears out after a year or so. I was looking for some nonstick that would last a bit longer. Not with Beka pan.

The best luck I have had with nonstick coating is Excalibur used by Farberware stainless cookware. The Teflon sprayed on the rugged steel surface does protect it from wearing out quickly. I still have a few pieces left from a set I bought more than 10 years ago.

Great price! $35.33 and no tax or shipping charge. This pan should not be confused with the "As Seen on TV" products. This is a top quality item. The bottom of the pan is made of an aluminum layer sandwiched between two layers of stainless steel. Far superior to other pans of similar price that have only a single layer of aluminum or steel. Beka is a high quality line of kitchen products.

Le Creuset L7473-0030 Moroccan Tagine (Cobalt Blue) Review

Le Creuset L7473-0030 Moroccan Tagine
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
I ordered this following a vacation trip to Morocco. WHY DIDN"T I BUY ONE IN MOROCCO ? I was impressed with the Moroccan style of Tagine cooking but wasn't sure I could count on a lead-free glazes on the Tagines at the markets or shops. I was told the cooking Tagines were plain terra cotta and the decorative ones were for serving only. Before I ordered my Le Creuset Tagine, I put up several jars of salted preserved lemons. When the Tagine arrived I was surprised to find a lighter weight bottom than the normal Le Creuset enamel over cast iron cookware and a heavy pottery chimey top. I read reviews, suggestions and recipes on line and decided to try a chicken, lemon and olive tagine as my first dish. I combined the cooking instructions that came from Le Creuset with a recipe I got in Morocco. When I watched tagine cooking in Morocco, at various stages of cooking, they set the chimey top of the tagines on the edge of the base and ocassionally removed it from the base. I observed the cooking process done on small burners over glowing coals and on wood fired stove tops. When I made the chicken tagine, I use a FLAME TAMER (a star shaped wire that sits on the electric burner of a stove and dispurses the heat). I watched the tagine and adjusted the lid/cone as needed to more closely replicate the Moroccan style of cooking in my home kitchen. The result was fabulous. Great if you love to cook and fuss with food as I do.

Although I have no background to vouch for any ethnic authenticity of this product (I was almost thrown out of Williams Sonoma when I asked the lady if I could prepare a beef stew in a tagine), I will say that the Le Creuset version is a very attractive piece of decor and it makes for some awesome stews.

So far I have not been able to get food to stick to the base (unlike my other Le Creuset pots) and the steaming at low heat does seem to concentrate & intensity the flavor. I bought some new (to me) spices (cumin, tumeric, coriander seeds, etc) to follow some simple recipes and everything has come out wonderfully well.

The only down side is that it will not make a lot of food at once (dinner for four is a stretch) and it is not quick. But it does things for stews that no other preparation method can do.

How and where to store these? There is a little "button hole" opening along the edge of each one. I put picture hooks on the wall by the microwave and easily hook the lilypads there -convenient for all uses, and a reminder to cover things that are being heated in the microwave. They look pretty! I have used them to cover rising bread dough that is staying in the fridge overnight -easy to clean off the dough. So far I haven't tried them in the oven, but so far they are busy being useful everywhere else.

I received this first as a gift and have since ordered several more, on for myself and others as gifts. I love it, they look great, I just have mine hanging on the wall in my kitchen and they are so handy. I hate plastic wrap, it never works right, bad for the environment... These fit on a variety of bowls the seal is excellent great to keep food warm before dinner, store leftovers in the refigerator after, microwaveable and they say in the freezer too but I have not used them for that purpose yet, come in different sizes and are reusable and attractive. What more can u ask for? This pack is perfect, the two are wrapped individually so you can give them as seperate gifts, keep one and give one or give/keep them both :)

Best Deals for Charles VIANCIN The Lilypad Lid Small & Large Silicone Suction Lid

I have two lily pads. They work wonderfully as a cover in the microwave and as a cover to keep food warm while serving. Haven't tried them on the stove. My question is about the seal. My lids only have suction and seal when you lift by the lid's handle. If it is on a bowl sitting on the counter, fridge or freezer the slightest bump on the edge of the lid edge will push the lid off. It does not actually seal. Also, I tried putting a lid on a bowl of liquid-y food and tipped the bowl. The lid slid off and the food was about to slide out. I could see something tipping over and spilling in the fridge using one of those lids in that way. Am I missing something?

Honest reviews on Charles VIANCIN The Lilypad Lid Small & Large Silicone Suction Lid

Bought one as a gift in a gift shop now I purchased these two thru Amazon, for myself, at a better price. Quite functional and an attention getting curosity item. I find I use the smaller one often as a splatter protection cover in the micro. Will be the perfect covers for outside dining giving easy but protective access to dishes.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Charles VIANCIN The Lilypad Lid Small & Large Silicone Suction Lid

I own two of these and absolutely love them. I use them as a splatter-guard in the microwave (instead of paper towels or wax paper), I use them in the fridge to cover large bowls/etc that do not have lids (they form a nice seal that keeps moisture/odors inside), and I use them on top of pots on my stove.

They are super easy to clear (and can safely go in the dishwasher), durable, and do not melt.

I think these are fantastic products!

I am an avid home chef & treasure high-quality cookware. These are great! They are thinner (but harder) than many brands, which I truly love. Lower heat settings can be used for comparable results in other cookware, which saves energy, money, & severity of burns if the user is accident prone.

Some things to know:

1. These pans are designed to be hung on a rack. Hanging does save your cookware from a lot of those small injuries caused to them by stacking.

2. The Quantanium non-stick finish is like Teflon on steroids! I use about 1/4 the oil/butter I normally used in the older versions of Teflon. As mentioned above, a lower heat setting is also necessary. These are very easy to clean (except the stainless steel "buttons" where the handles are attached everything sticks well there).

3. Although they say "Metal Utensil Safe", DON'T! Save the metal utensils for your cast iron & stoneware.

4. Non-stick cooking spray tends to eat finish on pans. Preserve them by washing well with soap & water as soon as they are cool. TIP: NEVER, EVER put a sizzling hot pan in water or dump cool water into it! This causes warping that basically ruins the pan. Move the pan to an unused burner & let it cool naturally before washing.

5. With the small steamer insert, never fill the pan over one inch above the bottom of the insert. With the stockpot insert, 2 inches. This can be pushed to nearly 3, but the mess from overfilling is big.

6. Enjoy & care for these pans! You won't ever have to buy replacements for them as long as you don't abuse them.

I purchased this 14pc set of cuisinart pots and pans, after many comparisons and shopping around. I was initially more interested in purchasing Circulon Elite, but I wasn't too happy with the sizes offered in the set. Anyway, I am extremely happy that I purchased this set instead and here's why...

The price is great! This is a high quality product! There are 14pc included and they are all in useable sizes, the only additional thing you many need is a 12"skillet, but I have been fine without one so far. The 4 quart saute pan is wonderful!!! And I absolutely love the steamer basket, that was a huge selling point for me because I steam veggies everyday! I am very impressed with everything about these pots and pans! The non-stick finish has been very durable so far, and extremely easy to clean. They cook evenly with no hot spots, etc. One important thing to note that makes this set different than most other hard anodized cookware, is that these are made with an aluminum core. So they have a hard anodized exterior and a non-stick interior, but the aluminum core makes them quite a bit lighter in weight to most other products. I consider this to be a positive thing, I don't need to break my wrist washing a pan. But if you use your pans as weapons, consider something else. =) The exterior finish is awesome, its a smooth hard anodized finish and very easy to maintain. Another review complained about the exterior, that "it looked cheap and no matter how she cleaned them they looked bad"... well, she's crazy!!! These look awesome!!! The clear lids are very helpful, although they do tend to get hot so using a rag when lifting is advisable. But handles on the pans seem to stay cool, no problem.

Anyway, if you are considering this cookware and are comparing it to more expensive brands, then save your money! You will not be disappointed with this purchase!

Best Deals for Cuisinart 66-14 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 14-Piece

I got these on sale last week from Amazon at . Totally worth it. They are nice and heavy, heat evenly and the non-stick is amazing. You can put them in the dishwasher but it makes the outside of the pan turn a chalky dappled grey color. You really should hand wash them unless you don't give a crap how the outside looks.

The metal and glass lids can get hot while cooking but that's why they make over mitts but the great thing is, since these pans do not have the rubber coated saftey handles you can transfer from stove top to oven for a broil without having to worry about ruining your handles [like the old Revere Ware].

Update: 2009 and the pans have not yet fallen apart. The larger cookpot is showing some wear on the nonstick finish after heavy use. I also admit to using metal utensils on the product. The lids are in great shape and have not cracked or chiped and all the metal handles are still bright and shiny and not loose depite me washing them in the dishwasher.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart 66-14 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 14-Piece

15 years out of school and in desperate need of new pans, I researched for months on cookware brands, materials, pan-types and price. I purchased the Cuisinart 14-piece set based on my research & the enthusiastic commentary of so many other long-time users.

In every day use, this Cuisinart cookware has met my expectations. All of the pans including the skillets can be used with the lids included in the set. You won't get as many lids as pans, but having a perfectly-fitting lid on hand for both the 8" & 10" skillet is rare, and really nice.

The cookware pieces are attractive, well-made and perform exactly as described by the manufacturer. A smooth finish inside and out means that hand-washing is easy; food just does not stick in the pans. The rivets are easy to clean, too -these are big pluses since my schedule does not allow for much additional time for chores.

I tend to use medium to medium-high heats for most dishes, and haven't needed high heat to get quick & even results. I don't have a kitchen large enough to hang the cookware pieces, so I stack/nest them in my cupboard, using Wonderliner padded shelf inserts between them to mitigate against any scratching. However, the Cuisinart Cookware's nonstick surface has been quite durable and the set shows no signs of interior nor exterior wear.

The steamer insert is great for vegetables and Asian dumplings (I never use the pasta insert.) I couldn't find the steamer insert sold separately, and you can't use a metal fan basket steamer on the nonstick surface, so buy the 14or 17piece sets to receive it. I use wood and silicone-based utensils with the set.

I own other cookware (Cuisinart Multiclad, Staub & Le Creuset) to cover a full range of cooking needs. Nonstick is essential for certain applications; all in all, it truly has been a terrific set for me.

I never write reviews, but this one is worth it! Cleanup is a snap, even baked on cheese. Normally I dread cleaning pans and just toss them in the dishwasher. I did abide by the instructions and washed them by hand. Egg, grease, baked on cheese, you name it. A little hot water and soap under the faucet does the trick.

I'm tossing my other pans.

I'm 77 years old and have had a LOT of different cookware in my married life. Unfortunately, This cookware came way too late! If you need the best cookware ever buy this! I boiled some water last night, walked away, the water boiled out and I smelled a strange scent. The pot was "cooking" with no water and I rinsed it and it's impossible to tell anything happened to it. It also wiped out quickly. I'm SOLD on PYREX. Have used the glassware for years, just wish I had these three pots (1QT.,2QT. & 3QT.) back in 1951 when I got married!! It sure would have saved me a lot of money!! Thanks PYREX!!

Heats quickly, easy cleanup, good for heating up small dishes or even boiling 1 or 2 servings of pasta, or even if I'm tossing in some shredded chicken and bbq sauce, I dont have to worry about clean-up.

Decent cover glass yay! and seems reasonably durable, if you dont take metal utensils to it.

Best Deals for Pyrex Nonstick Covered Saucepans

If the price wasn't low I would rate it 3 stars, but for the price it is pretty decent. The non-stick works very well, the handle is nice to use on the lid but pointless to have the system of hooking it on the pot when the pot is so small. The actual amount of metal is tiny in this pot so don't think you will be getting some nice heavy bottomed cooking piece here, just a good low-end pot.

I have read people's comments about the relatively small diameter (6") of All-Clad's 2-quart saucepan. I find that the narrow diameter of this pan maintains a very hot, moist "atmosphere" in the upper region of the inside, even with the lid off. Because of that, the top of the food in the pan benefits from the radiant heat above it as well as from the physical-contact heat of the bottom and sides of the pan, even as you are adding ingredients and stirring, and with little loss of moisture from the food. The narrowness of the top of the pan helps prevent the wafting away of heat and moisture. (Using a long-handled stirring tool helps to protect your fingertips from the steam!) If you find that you are filling this pot with food, you really should transfer the food to a larger pot. In the 2-quart pan, leave enough space above the food for the "head of steam". A truly wonderful design!

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I recently purchased the All-Clad 2Qt. Stainless Saucepan. The pan is heavier than most saucepans I have used in the past, but the added length of the handle more than compensates for the additional weight.

I found the pan to be extremely adept. I found that the heat transferred evenly throughout the cooking process. My ingredients did not scald or burn.

I have purchased premium cookware (I thought) in the past, but the All-Clad is by far superior to what I have. This was my first purchase, but not my last.

Best Deals for All-Clad Stainless 2-Quart Saucepan

This is another of the workhorse pans in my kitchen. The AllClad Stainless 2qt pot is marvelous for cooking sauces that will bubble or foam; for sauces involving fruits that may need to boil. The height allows for ingredients to grow, and the small diameter means you are not waiting for items to heat up. The pot heats quickly and evenly.

Try it for cranberry sauce at the holidays, or any small sauces involving milk or cheese. Remember that the pan does not have a great surface area, so timing and delicacy in preparations is key. Leaving the pot unattended on a high heat is not a smart idea. Keeping the pot with a good warmth, slowly working up the heat of your sauce or fruit is one of the best ways to use it.

The only downside of this pot is that yes, it is difficult to pour from, and the small surface area of the pot (=smaller open area) means that ladles are often too unwieldy for it. So be prepared beforehand to know how you're going to get your sauce out of the pot without making much of a mess.

Have fun in your kitchen!

Honest reviews on All-Clad Stainless 2-Quart Saucepan

This 2-qt saucepan is one of the most versatile things in my kitchen (along with a Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 7-1/4-Quart Round French Oven). Most of the time, I am cooking for 2 people and this pot is perfect for most jobs. I can make a quick pasta or tomato sauce in minutes and a large 32oz can of plum tomatoes barely fills the pot halfway. I also sometimes use it to boil small quantities of pasta, boil a couple potatoes or eggs, blanch vegetables, or simmer a sauce. It gets just as much use when I'm cooking for a crowd, in the preparation of side dishes or sauces. I use it for most several-step meals and a few one-pot meals. It cooks rice beautifully if you do it correctly and pay attention to the heat setting. All-clad pots in general are more sensitive to the stove setting so I always start lower than I might with other pots and increase the flame from there. I use a gas stove and I can generally use it on low to med-low with these pots, instead of med-high to high as I might with other cookware.

They also clean up beautifully and look wonderful on a pot rack in my kitchen. I always wash them by hand and usually use Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Liquid Dish Soap, though occasionally stuck-on foods or stains will require a little Barkeepers Friend and scrubbing. I find this mostly happens with fry pans for me, and is almost never necessary with saucepans and stockpots. Usually a little Mrs Meyers does a great job.

Great investment piece... I've collected my cookware a bit more slowly than I might otherwise as I try to buy quality pieces I love and this saucepan is no exception. Most of my All-Clad pieces are stainless steel, as I like the look and price point. I do have two copper core pieces but I don't find the extra copper cladding and increased heat conductivity essential for most types of pots and cooking needs. The stainless steel is a great option for most pieces, if not all. I may add a 1 or 1.5 qt saucepan to my set in the near future but it's hard to justify when the 2-qt fills so many needs.

I just discovered All-Clad about six months ago, and ordered two of their less-expensive items. I was so impressed with the quality and the functionality -not to speak of the elegant appearance -that I've gone on to replace almost all of my old (VERY old!!) set of pots and pans. I've kept a few that I find useful -a cast iron griddle, for example -but I've bought a new All-Clad piece or two about once a month, and now have almost everything I need, but not all I want. This is SUCH a great deal here on amazon. I paid more than this at an outlet! But, that said, this is a gorgeous butter dish and a beautiful addition to your holiday table. I use mine throughout the holidays and winter, it is just so very pretty and does a great job on keeping butter fresh. Plus, it's VERY easy to clean (don't you love scraping those butter pieces off?) by just popping it on the top shelf of a dishwasher. Mine has been used for 12 years and still looks new.

Best Deals for Pfaltzgraff Winterberry Covered Butter Dish

I just received the butter dish and it's very pretty and of excellent quality. This is my first piece of Winterberry and I'm quite happy with it. It looks good with my Lenox Holiday Gatherings dinnerware and is reasonably priced.

I am giving it only four stars because I usually buy butter in the shorter, fat sticks and they don't fit well. I'll need to buy some long, skinny sticks of butter for it. Also, the Amazon description says that it's made in U.S.A. but the dish is marked "made in Indonesia". I would give it 4.5 stars if I could, I just don't think it's quite perfect enough for 5 stars.

After a long research online and in department store, I am a proud owner of Le Creuset 12 piece set. this is my first complete cookware set. I own this set for the last 10 months or so.

I am very picky regarding quality of cookware because I cook at home everyday. I was looking for even heating at a reasonable price.

Like:

Handle: I spend a lot of time in department store to try different cookware. Nothing fitted right in my palm. This one was perfect fit.

Graduation: practical and easy to read

Pan: perfect for sit fry, veggies, and cooking meat. Even heat is awesome

Saucepan: easy to use and easy to clean. Even heating

Lid: close tight to avoid losing heat, perfect for simmering

This is the perfect set. Meet my expectations

Add on:

stainless steel steamer (fit all saucepan) perfect to steam veggies

chef sauce pan love it for my tomato sauce

This package is difficult to repackage. All we wanted to do was exchange lids. Now Amazon has to pick this up and we have the worry of getting a replacement.
