My mother has owned this pan ever since I can remember, and she used it three or four times each week for at least 10 years, from the time I was aware of such things until the time I moved out. She still uses it 15 years later. I truly believe she has never replaced it in all that time. I have since purchased a set for myself including the frying pan, and it is a very durable product. Best and most even heating of any pans I've owned. It's got a very comfortable weight balance and I don't have to worry about the handle getting hot. I like the classic version without the teflon because you never have to worry about scraping the coating off.

I love Farberware Classic and I want to complete my set and never have to worry about buying new pans again.

Farberware classic is great -an inexpensive yet equally functional alternative to the very expensive pots & pans. Note: recently Farberware reduced its quality, in that older Farberware pots & pans had their thick aluminum base completely encased within a stainless steel shell. The newer pots & pans have the aluminum base attached to the bottom, but not encased within a stainless steel bottom. So, their quality is less than it was; most people who "grew up with Farberware" may not realize this. Farberware used to hold the patent on the technique of having the aluminum base CURVE up the side of the pan -they no longer do this, and are the same as many other manufacturers. Also note: if you are buying a 12" pan, this is a HUGE pan, since it has a squareish cross-section. I found it to be so absolutely huge -you could fry a dozen onions in this monster -that I simply never use it. The 10" and 8" sizes may be what you're looking for!

How many products do you know when you buy it that it will last 30 or 40 years? This is one of them. My mom has had hers for 35 years, I've had mine for 5. It's simply the best pan out there. It cooks evenly, it goes in the dishwasher, the handles stay cool, and you don't have to use plastic spatulas. The only problem that somebody might have is that it is not nonstick. For that reason my wife usually uses a Calphalon nonstick professional pan, even though it can't be cleaned in the dishwasher and you have to treat it carefully. So if you must have nonstick, buy something else. But if you want a large, beatiful, indestructible pan that will last longer than you will, buy this pan!

This is a great pan for preparing meals. I generally have trouble with a pan being able to hold all of the ingredients, but this one is definitely up to the task. Although it's not stick-proof, most of my cooking involves sauces or olive oil (usually both), resulting in relatively easy cleanup. Keep in mind that it's very heavy (12 inces of stainless steel), but it doesn't warp, tip over, or get knocked off the counter.

This is a handy-sized frying pan, and the helper handle is great when it is full. It is dishwasher safe. Because it is uncoated, it can scorch, when means hand-washing with a scrubbing pad. Also, because it is large (with the lid) it can be tricky finding a place to store it.

I have the Circulon Commercial set (Costco) at one house and I had to have another set for my other house (next a set for the motorhome!)I am spoiled...;-) The commercial set is now 8 years old and still works great.

I have had Farberwear (cheap, thin, too easy to damage) and All-Clad which I found to be a huge ripoff. The all clad non stick not only stuck to all foods, it had the worst heat distribution using a glass cooktop. Literally would take 15 mins to warm up on medium to fry an egg.

This stuff is heavyweight and the non stick works well. It cleans up good in the dishwasher too. The new set has nicer handles than the Commercial set.

After owning my old icky cheap cookware for over 15 years, I decided it was time to invest in something decent, and I was willing to pay some bucks for it. But what did I want? Stainless? Nonstick? Anodized? And I shopped everywhere: pampered chef, williams sonoma, bed bath & beyond, costco...etc.

I am not a chef and didn't think I could handle stainless. And I didn't think my husband could handle nonstick as he does the dishes and I frequently catch him scrubbing pots or putting them in the dishwasher.

So I called my sis in law (who is a great cook) and asked her opinion and she suggested these. Only $200? But that doesn't feel very prestigious to me! I was ready to spend like $1000 on cookware! Let me tell you, you don't need to!

Here's what I love about this cookware:

--grippy handles that stay (mostly) cool (I have a gas cooktop and so this was a big deal for me)

--because of that gas cooktop, this cookware heats very evenly in the saucepans, which for a novice like me was important.

--grippy handles on the lids

--see through lids

--EASY cleanup! I can't get anything to stick to these pans! Even with my worst disasters, a little hot soak and they're good to go!

--no discoloration, not for me so far anyway

I still can't believe I paid so little for this set when I almost bought a set that costs 3x this at another store. It's not as beautiful as stainless or copper, but it does exactly what I need it to do, which is cook food and clean up easily.

My sis in law had a lid crack from her set and circulon sent her a new pot/lid no questions asked.

I don't think you can go wrong with this set.

This set is truly non-stick,they cook very evenly. You can cook with out oil or butter, but I cook on low or medium and allow the pan to warm slowly. They are dishwasher safe but if you use them right they clean up easily. My only dislike is the frying pan set come with no lids that fit but I just use what ever is close in size..

I had the older version of this skillet. It was half the price but only came with one pan. I loved it. The nonstick coating was virtually indestructible. I used metal utensils in it all the time and never got so much as a scratch. Well, I became so confident in the strength of the coating that I used a steak knife to cut a steak in half while it was in the pan to see if it was done. It wasn't knife proof. I guess I could have just ordered a replacement pan from Zojirushi, but I decided to buy this EP-RAC50 instead. It's better than the old one was. It's a little bigger, a little nicer looking. But I really like having the two pans. I can brown meat for spaghetti in the grill pan, and then boil noodles in the other. I don't even use the stove top anymore. You don't have to worry about pans being centered on the burner or sitting flat. Plus you have much more precise control over the temperature. It heats very evenly and the thermostat seems to be very accurate. I also like the fact that the nonstick coating is NOT Teflon, which is carcinogenic. And it's much more durable than Teflon. I don't need to use oil or butter because nothing sticks. Not even eggs. It wipes clean with a dry paper towel! Another nice thing is that you can remove the pan from the base so there's less chance of burning your food when it's done cooking unlike with some cheaper skillets where the pan and heating element are one unit. If this skillet breaks, I'll buy another one. It's worth every penny.

Gets hot quick.

Keeps the heat it is set for.

Looks good.

Very easy to clean.

Steaming food works great.

Cooks to perfection (so far).

Glass top makes it "fun" to use and see the cooking process.

A 2lb. meatloaf made in this pan was the best I've eaten and I didn't have to use the oven.

Next up is: Roast chicken and baking.

Wish:

1. That the pans were perfectly flat. The pans slope slightly to the outer edges and more oil is needed to compensate for the depth of the oil at the center. So trying to cook with less oil is difficult because the oil gathers toward the edges.

2. Hope they can make a Wok like pan insert that can be purchased as an option.

3. That the cover be tight fitting with the vent in the cover.

Other than that the product is the best electric skillet I've used.

I would recommend it to anyone.

How does it hold up after 6 months of use Feb. 2010 thru July 2010:

1. I only use wood and plastic utensils but the Pans scratch very easy and $77 plus to replace just one pan.

2. The manufacturer won't stand behind the pans unless you send it back to them for evaluation.

3. Even though the pans scratch, they clean-up without scrubbing. Very easy....

4. Pans are not flat is still my biggest issue.

Still, the Zojirushi is the best and most versatile electric fry pan I've used.

I use it at least 4 to 5 times a week and I would but it again.

I wish I had this in my apartment living days! I got this as a present for a hotpot party from my husband.We were expecting 12 people over and I'd been using my cusinart fondue pot (which has worked when it's 4 to 6 of us). I have another electric skillet but it's old, cheap and not reliable. Hubby got this and (1) sticker shock, holy crap! (2) wow it's big! it's really big. I had thought about returning it b/c of the cost. I'm glad I didn't.

We used this as our non-spicy hot pot. Poured some seasoning, broth and water, bam ready in a matter of minutes. It boiled the broth. I was surprised. So this is great for a decent size group of people. It didn't burn my food it kept the broth at a stable temperature. The meats/foods were cold (refrigerated/frozen) but we didn't notice any drastic temperature changes. Even heating for all uses (steaming, boiling, pan frying)

It's also a pretty looking machine, very easy to use, very easy to clean! Non-stick for real and just a wet soapy sponge, and everything comes off. The nonstick coating is still working even after all the abuse of metal utensils, chopsticks, spatulas, whatever.

SAFE! If you happen to knock/trip on the power cord it'll pop off magnetized so you don't have to worry about the whole pot going with it. The handles on the pot stays cool even if the pot is boiling.

UPDATE:

I've steamed a whole fish (4lbs)!! I used the steamer rack with some ginger and scallions, let the water heat up, put the fish in, 10 minutes later, the softest, silkiest tender fish ever. It looks big at first but it's perfect even for 2 people

Steamed tofu with ginger/scallions same as above, also delish.

Soups easy peasy, used the large pot, browned the meat, threw in the veggies, then stock done!

Green Chile browned my meat and caramelized onions, threw in all the other ingredients and seasoning let this sucker simmer for a day...meat is so tender and flavorful, the chile was a hit.

Use the shorter pan to brown potstickers

Temperature settings are great! I haven't used my crockpot since we've gotten this it actually COOKS the food not just keeps it warm.

I needed a new electric skillet, and didn't want to go another round with the uneven heating and flaking nonstick coating I've come to expect with the "disposable" $30 skillets from the usual sources. So I decided to drop some $$$ and get one that would be a real piece of cookware instead.

The Zojirushi arrived, and I was first surprised at how really large it is. I have normal kitchen cabinets, and I wasn't sure I could even find a place for to put it. But I figured that's a small price to pay for quality, and moved on to the instruction manual.

This electric skillet is a workhorse that will do far more than I expected from just a skillet. And there are instructions for all of it. But then I came to the "Care and maintenance" section.

It turns out that, the main pot must be hand washed--no dishwasher. Call me lazy, but that's a dealbreaker for me. It also requires a rubdown with vegetable oil to prevent rust, and rust is a dealbreaker even without calling me lazy. Finally, storage instructions were very clear that things had to be stacked in a particular order to avoid bending this or warping that.

To sum it up, I returned the skillet. It looks like it's really versatile and appeared to be extremely high quality and worth the $150 purchase price if you're comfortable with the service you must provide in return.

I recommend a visit to the website where you can download the instruction manual before purchasing.

I bought these Le Creuset replacement knobs for each of my two large and medium sized Chasseur cast iron casserole dishes/dutch ovens after the plastic ones failed and cracked in a hot oven. I couldn't find genuine Chasseur ones to replace them, so gave these a go and they work brilliantly. Perfect fit through the existing hole in the cast iron lid and fastened with a steel screw, and means that the dutch ovens are now able to be used in very hot ovens without worrying about the handles. The heat transfers through the knob more than the plastic ones obviously, so you need to use a mitt or tea towel to take the lid off, but they serve their purpose very well.

The knobs should now last as long as my cast iron dutch ovens will.

I've replaced all my Le Creuset knobs with these. Why they didn't use these to begin with is a mystery to me. Added plus: they look a lot better than the originals. Consequently, had to order more Le Creuset pots and bakeware to match the medium knobs!

I don't seek 'green' products, but this one works as advertised! You can fry and egg with no butter or oil and it just slides around in the pan after the white is set. My second time purchasing, so if you are looking at these being your only set of non-stick pans, forget about it. They last a couple years. These pans are great quality, heavy duty with ceramic coating that won't peel off or emit gases when heated. The sizes are good and the lids have a vent hole which makes them even better. I have used them continuously and love them each time.

This is the second Cooks Standard sauce pan I've purchased. I got the 3 Quart pan for myself a few months ago and use it all the time. Now I have the 1.5 Quart pan and am just as thrilled with it! I am a fan of really good quality cook and bakeware but don't really have the funds for all the big name brands like All-Clad, so I did tons of research to find a brand that has similar features and great quality, but at a much more affordable price. After combing through a ton of reviews, I decided on the Cooks Standard and am SO happy that I did. This pan was under $18, while the comparable All-Clad pan runs anywhere from $70 to $100+ depending where you buy it!

A few points about why I love these pans so much:

-nothing sticks

-easy to clean

-heavy bottom for even heating

-handle stays cool to the touch when used on the stove top

-can put them in the oven

-way more than just a sauce pan-you can steam, saute, fry or braise in them also

-lids have a great fit

-look great!

I really recommend this to anyone who needs new pots and pans...now I kind of wish I'd just bought the whole set, but it's also fun to look forward to a new piece arriving each time I order another pan!

These are the most deliciously heavy stainless pots I have ever owned. Nothing sticks and they are a pleasure to work with. It's the weight that I love the most they are SO heavy. The lids fit extremely well too. I don't have water spattering all over my stove or dripping down the side of the pot everytime I cook potatoes. I am all about these pots and will be getting more. Finally, stainless steel cookware which is both well made and affordable.

Testing this sauce pan I made a poached egg. From my first attempt the egg's color, texture and shape was simply remarkable.

The handle ergonomics is simply the best fitting to my hand I ever experienced in the greatest comfort, support and balance. The handle has what I might call a double "Y" design creating the best heat insulation ever. The metal handle hardly gets warm when cooking.

The metal lids are also well designed with an equally well designed lid handle .

I now own the Cooks Standard Wok and both the small and large sauce pans. I have gladly donated my old cookware to charity.

Another reviewer obviously did not read the product description in regards to this being a ceramic stoneware bowl made from clay rather than a bowl carved out of raw stone. While the shipping was very long to me it was worth the wait as this is the first reliable seller I've run across offering the product through a reputable online retailer.

The bowl is slightly smaller than what we get served at our local Korean restaurant(s); however, for my wife and I that is good as it means we serve ourselves more reasonable portions. The finish is very fine and after cooking and serving an entire bibimbop meal made from scratch at home I can attest they are easy to clean after a quick hot soak in water.

Because these are glazed and not raw stone there is no need to worry about seasoning or cleaning rituals associated with similar bowls made from raw stone.

The bowls stayed plenty hot for our meal and our rice was able to sizzle nicely.

In regards to packaging the bowls arrived both in one piece. Each bowl was wrapped carefully and separately from their bowl trays in both bubble wrap and paper and then tied with twine. Both were packed in a properly sized box as well, which was nice considering many items arrived loose in boxes with air bubbles from other merchants.

These would get 5 stars if the shipping time was quicker!

Dolsot bowls are really difficult to find, and these are a very nice quality. Still trying to figure them out though. Eventhough we heat them to 400 degrees and put in sesame oil, we have still not been able to get crunchy rice in our bibimbap. Oh well.....still trying.

My husband purchased 4 large bowls and it was packaged very nicely like gifts and with all the cushions and support in it but unfortunately one of those was broken due to poor USPS shipping handling. We reported it and they immediately replaced it with a warm personal, handwritten note, apologizing what happened. Unluckily, USPS did it again! Even though the box was marked FRAGILE and with all cushions and support. We reported it rightaway that night and the next morning, one of the owners called and apologized for the very rare misfortune. She said that they will return the full refund of the broken bowl PLUS they'll ship us a free stone grill. Now that's what you call that an excellent costumer service! I was disappointed to see that they are actually ceramic stoneware not solid real stone. I felt that the product name was deceiving, so I requested a return. CrazyKorean's customer service was excellent. They offered a full refund including the shipping cost. They also updated the product description to indicate that the bowls are stoneware ceramic to avoid this misunderstanding.

My wife is Asian and we spotted this online. We enjoyed many meals in restaurants over in Asia using these at the table. Unfortunately, in comparison, this item is truly low, low quality. Very thin metal... So thin we kinda worry it will melt or suffer some once heat is applied .

To be fair, we have yet to use this item, but simply from a 'feel' standpoint we feel this is definitely NOT worth the money. Better to go to a specialty shop to see and 'feel' the utility before you buy.

As always, a great price and fast delivery from Amazon. This Fiesta cookware is rarely seen in my local stores and a great value when purchased in the 11-piece set. If you are trying to coordinate with your scarlet-colored Fiestaware, this works perfectly. I was interested in the Thermolon non-stick surface with these pans, as I was looking for an alternative to teflon coating. I've found if you follow the instructions and get the pans cleaned in a timely manner, the non-stick works just fine for me. A nice value if purchased at $199 or below, the full MSRP of $349 may be too much to pay for the set.

Wonderful color and construction, that's where the good things stop. The Thermolon coating on these pans is the worst I have ever seen or experienced. There is nothing you can cook in these pans that won't stick. I have wasted my money and my time. Please do not waste YOUR MONEY AND TIME on buying this product.

I have the Calphalon Contemporary pots and pans. This insert will only work for the Calphalon Contemporary collection. It is made extremely well and so nice to have the insert and the pot together so you don't have to get a separate stainer out from the cabinet while preparing pasta. I love it and use it often.

Bought this item to accommodate the Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 8-Quart pot, which I obtained from a outlet retail store. Now my wife has the complete set. Works great for steaming frozen vegetables.

This should be standard with the stock pot. Calphalon is certainly quality. A silicone ring might be a good add to it for seal against stock pot, but I like it just the same. Can't wait for shimp boil.

the coating came off right away. does not hold up. they held out that it was made in ??? to make you think it was very well made but it is not.

nonstick induction warehave used all pots repeatedly atleast 3 times each dish making dishes for a party to test it on my miele induction stove ,

it works very well,heats up very fast, unlike the other nonstick induction ware,[ non stick,michelleb by fagor] that i had ordered that takes a long time to heat up and heavier than this magefusa cookware which is light and has tall sides, contoured as a pot helps cook better, and is non stick. the tall sides is a very unique and useful feature for cooking as stock pot, saucepan and frying. very happy with it so far, ordered one more to gift.
