Other than being really low quality which is really to be expected in this price, I received the first set, where 2 of the lids just do not fit the pots, one of them (lid or pot) is not exactly round, you cannot close the lid. Amazon sent out a replacement, exactly the same issue in the 2 large pots. The small ones are fine, sort of, just cheap and not exactly tight fitted with the lids.

I needed a set of large casseroles, usually the sets come with at least 3 sizes and pans I do not need. I needed a large dutch over/casserole and purchased this because it was cheap but also because of the sizes. However I am really disappointed since this is the 2nd set that came and it's like they are all like that.

I am waiting to see what the 3rd one will be like... what a hassle.

Got my pans in 3 days, opened it and feel in love with it, its smooth and thick like a good pan should be! I haven't used it yet but I can tell it will work great and its not like the other black non-stick pans you get at stores that scratch easily, the coating is a mix of silver and black in the pan it feels smooth and sturdy. I feel these pans will last you a long time as long as you take care of it , use silicone spatulas only (Dollar Tree ones works great!)

My friend recommended this pan to me. So I went ahead and bought one. It is wonderful, even my husband loves it. I don't have a braiser type of pan. This works great. It keeps food hot all afternoon. The beef was tender, by the time I took it out. I will get another one, in the near future.

The non-stick properties in the pan work fine. When I forget that it's the one pan where the handle isn't one you can use without a glove I end up with blistering burns. With kids in the house that cook this has to go in the trash.

After receiving this pan I thought it might not be good because it was fairly light, but after using it I really like this pan! The aluminum heats up quickly and cools quickly. The shape is unique, with the smaller bottom, and allows the food to come out easily. The non-stick coating is the best I have ever experienced. Search online for information about the Eterna coating and the Dry Egg Test. Another idea I like is the hole in the glass top, as it helps keep boiling liquids from bubbling up but keeps the heat in.

Nice product. Color a bit more purple than cobalt blue but that is fine with me. Heats well and pours cleanly. Whistle loud enough but not too loud. Lid latching is secure but not all that well conceived (just friction). Overall nice product although we have only had it a short time so cannot say how it will hold up.

This is the second Cooks Standard sauce pan I've purchased. I got the 3 Quart pan for myself a few months ago and use it all the time. Now I have the 1.5 Quart pan and am just as thrilled with it! I am a fan of really good quality cook and bakeware but don't really have the funds for all the big name brands like All-Clad, so I did tons of research to find a brand that has similar features and great quality, but at a much more affordable price. After combing through a ton of reviews, I decided on the Cooks Standard and am SO happy that I did. This pan was under $18, while the comparable All-Clad pan runs anywhere from $70 to $100+ depending where you buy it!

A few points about why I love these pans so much:

-nothing sticks

-easy to clean

-heavy bottom for even heating

-handle stays cool to the touch when used on the stove top

-can put them in the oven

-way more than just a sauce pan-you can steam, saute, fry or braise in them also

-lids have a great fit

-look great!

I really recommend this to anyone who needs new pots and pans...now I kind of wish I'd just bought the whole set, but it's also fun to look forward to a new piece arriving each time I order another pan!

These are the most deliciously heavy stainless pots I have ever owned. Nothing sticks and they are a pleasure to work with. It's the weight that I love the most they are SO heavy. The lids fit extremely well too. I don't have water spattering all over my stove or dripping down the side of the pot everytime I cook potatoes. I am all about these pots and will be getting more. I've never owned better and I'm old!!!!

Finally, stainless steel cookware which is both well made and affordable.

Testing this sauce pan I made a poached egg. From my first attempt the egg's color, texture and shape was simply remarkable.

The handle ergonomics is simply the best fitting to my hand I ever experienced in the greatest comfort, support and balance. The handle has what I might call a double "Y" design creating the best heat insulation ever. The metal handle hardly gets warm when cooking.

The metal lids are also well designed with an equally well designed lid handle .

I now own the Cooks Standard Wok and both the small and large sauce pans. I have gladly donated my old cookware to charity.

I'm impressed by the look and feel (weight) of the pots. I haven't cooked anything in them yet. I would have preferred a 1 quart covered sauce pan also, however I could not find one by Cook's, purchased another brand at Sears. I have not used the pots yet saving for my new home, settlement is in October.

I ended up buying it from shopko.com since Amazon did not have it in stock. The item that I ordered (and received) is the exact part number that was reviewed by Cook's Illustrated.

All I can say is that Cook's was right. This pan has amazing non-stick properties. I've been using the pan for several months now on a daily basis (I'm on a carb-restricted diet, so I eat fried eggs for breakfast every morning) and the non-stick properties of this pan are simply amazing. No sticking. Clean-up is a breeze. I'm VERY satisfied with this pan and will not hesitate to purchase another when this one wears out (hey, nothing lasts forever).

Those who complain that they found this pan model (E9380864) at a lower price elsewhere are confused. They were looking at a different, quite inferior product. This model has been out of stock in stores and internet for months. The other, cheaper model has been mistaken for this one. I know; I bought one of them. The model number was completely different, but I thought it was a replacement. Not so.

OK, I love this pan's non stick... the CI review and the amazon people were right... however the one I got has a definite "hump" in the middle. If you put a tbs of oil in it as per a recipe, it all runs to the sides, leaving the middle dry. if you put eggs in it to fry, same thing. I wish I would have returned it, as no one else has had this issue.... so long story short, check it when you get it, and return it if you get a bum one like I did... I would order another and simply check it for this issue...

After reading about this product on Cook's Illustrated, I decided to hunt for one. Lots of trouble finding it, but at some point, Amazon came through with the T-Fal Professional Nonstick (with thermo spot

and prometal pro interior). After buying Calphalon, Cuisinart and other nonsticks over the years, I have been very disappointed because they really aren't nonstick and don't hold up well. This pan is amazing! I use it for omelets, vegetable sautes, meat sautes and general stovetop uses. It is lighter weight than most cooktop pans, but it is wide with slightly sloped sides so I can get a lot in it. And things saute to a nice brown with minimal fata winner in my opinion! I sure hope Tfal makes this product available again!

We moved from teflon to stainless and worried that it would be hard to keep food from sticking. Definitely not a problem.

This is a high quality product!

Edit: I should have added that it is extremely important that you pre-heat stainless steel cookware before you add food to the pan. If you toss the food into a cold pan and then heat it, the food WILL stick. You must heat up the pan first.

However, the picture of the shell head and embossed handle of the tongs is pretty on the website, but is so poorly pressed into the metal in reality that I have considered returning them. I also found shell sugar tongs at Crate and Barrel for $2.95, compared to $7 here. These tongs are not recommended.

I purchased these tongs for my young daughter to practice her fine motor skills (ala Montessori). I was excited to see the little shell shape as a nice accent, but when they arrived, they were squashed flat and bent out of shape. They are very flimsy, and so they were easy to set back into place (sort of), but you can tell that they are mass-produced and not much care is taken with their quality. Like the previous reviewer, I also recommend Crate and Barrel for a better product.

It may sound picky, but, hey, they're sugar tongs, and people who buy them have an eye for detail. Otherwise, who would purchase them?

these spoons are both great. the deeper ladle spoon is great for scooping up soup or just putting some pasta in a bowl. the lazy spoon is great because it allows you too cook and get things moving around, yet it also serves up nicely. they both had handles on the sides to hook onto your pots which is so convenient when you do not have extra space on your counter for more spoons. both clean easily!

**********after using these spoons not a whole lot. maybe about 4 times with the ladle spoon, i noticed that the back of the orange spoon is already starting to peel off. the rubber coating is slowly falling off. and i always hand wash these too.

Everyone was laughing at these spoons when I set them out on the edge of the bowls for people to use, but they soon discovered how great they were and were envious. No more looking for spoon holders, or grabbing the little plates to put them down on.

The deep spoon is great for pasta salads, sauces with chunks in it, soups, and other things where all you need is "one hearty spoonfull." The less deep one is great for general stirring, cooking, getting just those special bit's out of the pan, grabbing that lone meatball, or those slices of beef you have your eye on.

On a serious note, if you have arthritis, these might not be the best tools for you or to give as a gift to someone with arthritis. They are VERY heavy, and they could cause fatigue in weak hands/wrists, especially the large spoon (the thing I swear weighs like 3 pounds). And be careful, the slots on the spoons don't fit EVERY bowl or pan, test it out before you put it on and walk away.

I would recommend these to anyone.

I ordered these spoons after watching her use them on the show & thinking "wow, what a great idea!" but when they arrived I was a little disappointed. Let me just say, they are very attractive, a lovely color, if that sort of thing appeals to you, but they are also quite heavy and the dip in the spoon isn't really deep enough to stir things well. It would be better for scraping things. I haven't gotten around to using the ladle yet, maybe I will like it better but I just don't really think these are practical for every day use.

I know there are many options for things like this. So if you're reading this, hopefully I will steer you to buy one.

This is my 3rd steamer basket. My first one was stolen over 10 years ago from a crazy ex-gf decided to steal half of my kitchen stuff (all the good stuff, too). My 2nd one Ive had for close to 8-years or so now. One of the 3 legs broke off and is somewhere roaming my kitchen, lost, confused and now steamer-less. Meanwhile, the other 2 legs miss there brother (or sister) and are trying to break away and leave home. Maybe the kids just need to leave the nest. They grow up so fast....

Oh yea...the review! I ordered the 3rd one just the other day. I specifically found the same one as this thing is great. Its simple, effective and handy. When closed, the little middle post and key-ring loop stick out of the steamer making it easy to pick up either open or closed. Ekco brand is great and I will continue to search for and use there products!

But that makes them light and easy to handle. Also if you put in large amounts of cold ingredients, the pan cools significantly (compared to my other set of Circulon cookware). The thinness may have also been the reason why two of the pots I got in my set were a little dented at the lip. It was very slight and didn't effect how the glass lids fit. The glass lids are pretty standard. They are universal/transferable to my other pots/pans not from this set. I also like that the pots are stainless inside with no finish. I can scrub it as vigorously as I like and not have to worry about destroying the pots. This set will definitely work for now. They're nothing fancy and great for daily use and abuse. I'm kind of glad of the price point because that means I don't have to baby them too much. But I still dream of buying and collecting fancier cookware in the future!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I am very pleased with this cookware set. The pots have a quality feel to them, with the weight being not so light that would indicate a cheap thin gauge metal, yet not so heavy that it breaks my wrist to handle them when filled with food. The base is aluminum encased in stainless steel, and they heat evenly and are plenty thick, which is great because it will prevent the frying pans from warping, as the thinner pans are prone to do. The size of the bottoms fits 6" and 8" electric burners perfectly. (I do miss gas very much)

I like the back enamel exterior it is actually a very practical color, and I'm hoping it will not show the slight discoloration near the base that usually builds up over time. The handles are quite comfortable to hold and hopefully will be as durable as the cookware. The glass lids seem very thick and sturdy, being encased in a thick metal rim, and the riveted handles have a quality feel to them as well. One thing I wish they had is a slight relief on the top in the pot and some openings in the rim of the cover to allow you to drain the water when cooking pasta. The 3 qt stockpot is ideal for that as well as rice as it fits perfectly on my 6" back electric heating element. The 8" skillet is perfect for small meals for one or two people, however I find the 10" skillet somewhat of an odd size. The teflon coating on the skillets is very good, but not as good as my top rated T-fal E9380864 Professional Total Nonstick Oven Safe Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 12.5-Inch Fry Pan/Saute Pan Dishwasher Safe Cookware, Blacka much more practical size, and consequently I would recommend that you get one of those as well.

Overall my impressions so far are that this set is very sturdy and well made and should last a long time.

Without RR's name on this set, maybe it would be 1/2-2/3 the price? But despite this, this a decent set that will get the stovetop job done well enough. Best part about it is that these should work with induction stovetops for those that have 'em. The silicone handles are great and the glass lids are nice to be able to see how things are progressing. These are not difficult to clean, but I admit I routinely put smaller pots and pans in the dishwasher. So time will tell how long the finish lasts.
