This China made pot is 8 quarts which wasn't be described. Some one rated it was a perfect size because some are too big or some are too small. But I think 8 quarts is too big for the family of 2. The bottom is thin. It's OK to use as a steamer and pasta cooker. But with the price of $29.99 for all of these are good. I haven't used yet so I am not sure about the quality after being used. Shipping was fast.

Update: After the first use, the rim of the lid got rust. At first I thought the pot had rusted, but actually it came from the lid. So disappointed. Not recommend.

Chose this because it was stainless, not aluminum. Noted previous reviews that complained it was too thin bottomed, but that is normal for a pasta pot so not a problem for me. Was the perfect size, most of the others I found were either too large or too small. This one was just right....lol

Found this one at a great price and got it within three days of ordering it. Good construction and I actually like it better than my own which is kind of thin (I keep it because it was my mother's). I have no hesitation recommending this pot to others. I purchased the 8.5 Qt model. Here are some of the things you might want to know.

The knob on the lid has a ridge around the top that makes it easy to grip and control even with an oven mitt.

The handles do stay cool. Even after bringing a full pot of pasta to boil till done the handles were cool to the touch. I would still use mitts to drain to avoid contact with the pot body. But being able to grab the handles to hold the pot steady while stirring was nice.

Filled to 2/3rds full with water and 32oz of spaghetti there was still over a quarter of the depth left. That allowed me to bring the pot to boil on high with out boiling over. Unlike previous pots, there was no splash over onto the cook top. No clean up! The bottom surface is an exact match for the surface of my 9" burner on our ceramic cook top. The bottom surface is flat and sits flush with no wobbling. When bringing the water to boil there was 100% coverage of boil bubbles across the bottom and during cooking there was even boiling thru out the pasta.

The non-stick interior is as it's supposed to be, non-stick. The hammertone exterior came clean with a rinse under the faucet and wiping with a damp cloth.

The handles are large enough to get a good grip on but don't stick out as far as some of the others. A plus to, me to save some storage space.

Overall an excellent value.

This is neither a great pot nor a terrible one it's more of an in-betweener. The pot doesn't seem very sturdy, but it works well for college students. I've used the pot for frying, boiling, simmering and general cooking and have had no problems with food sticking or burning. It does a great job at heating food evenly.

The handles are a bit on the large side and the glass of the lid makes noises when simply removed from the hot pot (like ice dropped in water except without the cracking), but so far I have found nothing to actually worry about. Cleaning is pretty simple. I recommend hand-washing the pot because I'm not sure how many dishwasher cycles it could handle.

I'm pleased with the pot, but like I said, anyone looking for serious cooking might want to purchase something more durable.

Umm, It seems bigger than my imagination. Its heating capability is very good. And its special material makes it easy to wash. The manual says it shows the greatest effect with medium heat, thus I didn't dare to heat it at high heating even once, which made the overall cooking time longer.

We have had this item for several months, and it has done what it was meant to do.

I purchased this because we needed more room for soups, vegetables, etc. The 10 quarts give plenty of room.

Some of the Positives of the stockpot are the price and clear lid. Also, it is incredibly easy to clean and we have used it with a variety of meals.

One of the Negatives I have noticed is that the handles seem a little flimsy. You get what you pay for, I guess.

You will like this if you just need a big stockpot and don't want to spend a fortune. I am sure you can get your money out of it.

You won't like this if you are a professional cook, or only buy top of the line products.

I've owned my Calphalon Brownie Pan for 6 years, and absolutely LOVE it! I'm ordering a 2nd & 3rd one today. We have the largest toaster oven that I could find, and this pan fits in it. We've used it for everything from baking fish, making cinnamon rolls, baking cakes, broiling steak, garlic bread, cookies.... and I think we've made a couple of batches of brownies in it. With 5 kids, it tends to rotate in and out of the toaster oven a LOT, and has held up wonderfully. I'm ordering 2 more so that we don't have to wash it 3 & 4 times a day. (It DOES go through the dishwasher, too! And that's a HUGE perk at our house!)

This is the second one of these pans that I have purchased. We have 2 homes and I liked it so much that I bought another so I would have one in both places. It is perfect for any brownie recipe for a 13x9 pan. The brownies bake up perfectly. Just remember to line your pan with parchment paper that hangs over the narrower 2 edges. You will be very happy with your baking results.

I bought this pan especially to bake biscuits in. I needed a non-stick pan with low sides and this one works perfect! My home-made biscuits just slide off and I just wipe if off with a sudsy washcloth, rinse, dry and put it away. It is made of heavy gauge metal and it's very sturdy.

This is a decent heavy weight pan, but I've now used it four times and I've got grease stains that will not come off. The culpret? Cinnamon Rolls. Seriously I have a Cinnamon Roll stain on it that will not come off. I didn't burn them it's just a grease stain.

It's better than the terrible one that came with my toaster oven (which is what I got this for) but I'm pretty dissapointed I expect more from Calphalon.

Great product. Nonstick works great and doesn't stain and lifts off. I have always put and still spray foil with Pam and then place in pan. Wish there was a Calphalon pizza pan 12inch with holes. I even called and they do not make it. I would use both in my Calphalon toaster oven.

We have a flock of six birds two Congo African Greys, two Green Cheeked Conures, a Sun Conure, and a Cockatiel. As many people know, most non-stick cookware gives off PTFEs which are fatal to birds at a certain level (and probably not good for them at ANY level). When we got the babies, we disposed of probably close to $500 in 'non-stick' cookware, one set being an almost brand new set of Cuisinart that was NOT Green Gourmet. We were told initially that it was okay to use non-stick as long as we did not overheat it, and as long as we used the range vent while cooking. I began to research and found cases where bird owners shared stories of pans that were not overheated yet their birds died in their arms. And who can guarantee they won't forget a pan on the stove? A Teflon-type pan, overheated, can kill birds in minutes, with no way to save them. I was not taking any chances. It all went. From bakeware to my pots and pans. We were looking around for cast iron, when I stumbled upon Green Gourmet which is completely free of PTFE and PFOA. I even wrote to Cuisinart to be sure it was safe for birds, and they were kind enough to promptly reply and set my mind at ease. The cookware is great practically wipes clean. I am very careful with it, using only bamboo or plastic utensils. We have two types. This set with the stainless steel exterior, and a hard-anodized aluminum skillet that my mother-in-law bought. All of it works great and looks great. I even burned a pan of cranberry sauce you know the stuff cranberries, water and SUGAR, in the small saucepan! (All I could think was that if this had been my OLD cookware, the birds would have likely died from this mistake!) The sugar was a black crust on the bottom and was hard as a rock. I have burned sugar in cheap pans before and had to toss them. Not this stuff. A few minutes in a hot soapy sink full of water, and I scraped the crust off with a plastic knife. I am very impressed at how easily food washes off. We have had these since September 2011 (they were my birthday gift) and they look just as good now as they did new. I would recommend these to anyone but ESPECIALLY to bird owners as a safe alternative to other Teflon-type non-stick!

These are some of the best knives I have ever owned. They arrived very fast and in great shape. I only gave it 4 stars because the block did not match the knife set. I would have thought it would be a block for this specific set. But, not enough slots or the right size slots.

I purchased these knives for my Dad as a replacement for the old hodgepodge of knives that have called his kitchen drawers "home" for the last decade. While I can say that to date they've only been used a few times, they have definitely shown to be worth the investment. All the knives in this set look great, were honed to a razor sharp edge and fit easily and safely in the hand. With a little TLC, I can't see why these knives wouldn't last for years to come.

While the Wusthof brand of knives is coveted by a lot of folks, what really sold me on this set was the number of steak knives that came with it. My dad entertains pretty frequently at home and thinking about the possibility of short-changing a guest by not being able to provide them with a nice steak knife would bother me. Fortunately unlike other comparable sets, this set comes with six of them, all honed to an edge as sharp as their bigger brothers. We tried them out on a few choice sirloin steaks (cooked to perfection by the way), which they cut through with barely any resistance whatsoever -just like butter.

All in all, these knives have been a pleasure to use in addition to looking great sitting in the block on the counter top. I believe that for the money these knives are worth the investment. Where else but Amazon can you buy a set of Wusthof knives for under $300?

the knives are great, the only thing that i did not like was that some of the knives did not correspond to the size of the slot in the block i.e. there would be a small knife in a large deep slot that is clearly for a bigger knife.

I must say the knives are nice but having a huge problem with them rusting very quickly. I live in the Caribbean and I know the climate is different but it is most frustrating to see these knives with rust. I have to clean them with steel wool every time I use them. Finding a good cooking fork is hard. Finding one for nonstick pans is even harder. Sharp tips easily pierce and hold. Not made for lifting a turkey, but will handle most anything else. Those fancy forks with the large grippy handles can fall out of small pans, This fork Won't. Tips are a bit flexible, but we'll see how it lasts.

I have a nylon meat fork, but the tines are a bit wide and thick for piercing or turning thinner meat cuts. The tines on the Amco fork are not strong enough for piercing or lifting solid roast cuts, etc., but then I can use the older fork for those. This fork works fine for what I wanted and I like the design sleek and easy to clean. It's a nice length and has a nice weight being neither too light or too heavy. If you need a fork for light duty turning and lifting this should serve you well, but don't expect to lift a roast or ham (even small ones) or the tines on the fork will probably cave on you.

I usually work with a 5 qt saute pan for the workhorse nonstick pan in my kitchen, and I don't usually spend a lot of money on them figuring that they aren't really going to last too long anyway. The last one I got was about twenty bucks from Costco and it did ok. When it finally died, I went looking for a new one. I found this on sale someplace and remembered that America's Test Kitchen liked the Simply Calphalon Nonstick 10-Inch Covered Omelette Pan, and figured it was worth a shot since it was from the same line. It was more money than I'm used to spending for this item, but I got a nice deal on it, so I went for it. I have been very happy with it. I love the big 5 qt size as I can make just about anything in it.

I love the helper loop as that makes it much easier to move the pan when it's full of food. Also, the handle, helper loop, and lid handle all have some silicone on them, so you can handle the pan even when it's hot. The handles do get warm, but I don't usually need to get pot holders.

The other thing I love is that this pan can go into the oven to 400 degrees. My only wish is that it could go all the way to 500 degrees. (I recently noticed that another pan from Calphalon can do that: Calphalon Unison Slide Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Omelette Pan, which I got for my son. But I really like the size and shape of the 5 qt saute and they don't do the Unison Slide in that pan at least, not yet. If they do, I will get one!)

It's heavier than my prior (cheaper) pan, but not too hard to handle.

It cooks nicely...everything I've made in it has been good, and I use this pan several times a week (I've had it for about a year now). It shows no sign of wear at this point but I do take care of it: no dishwasher, no metal utensils, etc.

This pan came with a 10 year warranty, I believe, and the Unison Slide I got for my son came with a lifetime warranty.

This is a great all around pan if you are looking for something larger than a fry pan. Great for larger meals. Not as heavy as regular calphalon which makes it easier to move around.

This was a good idea and it does work as described. However, as other reviewers noted, BE CAREFUL when removing it. It's hot and bubbles over. Even if you carefully remove it with the handles, you cannot prevent the spill-over.

I guess if you had it on a low boil rather than a rolling boil, it may be ok. Still, it's worth the money and does what it's supposed to. Just be careful when removing!

After reading a review of a Berndes skillet in the New York Times I asked for one for Christmas. I have since purchased two more different sizes. The rest of my cookware is AllClad, which is wonderful, but these skillets replace all the non-stick ones I had. The ceramic coating comes without the health concerns that teflon and other non-stick coatings may have. Clean-up is easy, no soaking or scrubbing necessary. There's also no staining of the beautiful white ceramic coating. I am purchasing a set as a wedding gift for a couple who loves to cook and I look forward to their response. When I first got this pan I absolutely loved it. It performed absolutely amazingly, eggs slid, nothing stuck, just as advertised. Sadly that did not last after a couple of months of use the surface deteriorated and now everything sticks. This in spite off the fact that metal had never touched the pan, always hand washed with soft sponge or paper towel, re-seasoned etc. This is a wonderfully promising technology that just isn't quite ready yet. You see many wonderful reviews of this technology by all manufactures but I suspect all were written during the first uses honeymoon period. If you read the lower rated reviews you find a common theme that the coating breaks down after 60 to 100 uses and the pans become a sticking nightmare. A black sheen develops and starts spreading over the surface that appears chemically bonded and impossible to remove and the pan becomes unserviceable. Again this is constant with all manufactures. The process presently is inherently flawed and a breakthrough is needed to correct it.

I love this pan so much I bought one for my boyfriends mom for mother's day. It is truly non-stick. There is literally no need for any oil or butter except to taste. The pan cleans with some warm water, soap and a spong. You will NEVER have to scrub it. I put a piece of cheese in the pan just to test it and it peeled right up. I would love to see pots and pans with this material!

I chose this fry pan based on the review of a user who updated his review multiple times over many months. It arrived well packaged and in a timely manner. It has a nice feel to it and I like the size. The vented glass lid is marvelous. The layers of coating seem to be continuous. The entire pan is uniform, inside, sides, and bottom. It's sturdy and I like the weight and balance of it. I bought the iSi utensils to use with it as recommended by the aforementioned user. They work great with the pan. Clean up is easy. I know they say non stick pans only last a few years. I can easily see this pan lasting many years and much longer than a few years. My previous frying pan lasted about 20 years. It looks like it went through a war, thus this replacement. I highly recommend this fry pan. There is nothing about it that I don't like.

This is our 4th Tramontina product. Three are skillets of varying size and all well worth the money. I did warp the bottom of one by overheating it. My fault.

This 5.5 qt. was purchased at Costco. It came with the clear lid and a third piece that is a splash screen. Paid $30, not 70 or more.

One of the most important fact is not just the quality of product but the customer support.

I started to notice ceramic crack after a few uses, I called customer service of Vinaroz, and explained the issue and they said no problem, they have started doing 2 coats of ceramic and sent me a replacement at no cost.
