I own several Lodge cast iron products and use them everyday. I have 3 teeneage boys that enjoy cooking, and after they destroyed a few teflon coated pans, I decided I would go heavy into cast iron. These pans are indestructible. You can use them in the oven or stovetop, and if you keep it seasoned properly food will not stick. Also, to avoid sticking problems, you may want to remember to allow the pan to get hot before applying oil or food.

As to seasoning, the Logic line now comes preseasoned. But don't make a big deal about this. To season a cast iron skillet simply coat it lightly with oil and bake it for a half hour or so. I have also seasoned these skillets on the stovetop. Cast iron is also great because it does not easily scrap like stainless steel and aluminum pots. Aluminum pans are painful to me, as my teeth fillings react to the aluminum. With cast iron, you won't have this problem. I also take my Lodge pan camping and set it right over the coals to cook. No melted handles or scorched bottoms to mess with.

Let me start by saying we have a kitchen full of 20+ pieces of Calphalon Hard Annodized Commercial cookware. I was always of the opinion that quality cookware carried a price that was justified by the performace of the cookware. So I thought if I wanted cast iron I should look at LeCreuset... wrong! Lodge blew that theory out the window! I can't express how well this simple pan works. Let it get hot and it will hold the temp like nothing else, oven to cooktop. I finally decided to get a good cast iron skillet after hearing Alton Brown (Host of Good Eats ...TV Food Network ...) rave about cast iron for the last few years. He steared me to Lodge, Lodge's web site (lodgemgf.com) told me about the pre-seasoned "Logic" line. This stuff makes cast iron simple. No messing around with seasoning a new pan. Simple care instructions. And clear instructions to reseason should the need occur. At the price these pans sell, there is no excuse to not have one, (or more) in your kitchen. It will soon become your favorite pan. I bought a 5 quart Lodge Logic Dutch Oven at the same time and it is fantastic as well!

Sorry for the long review for the short review, count the stars!

I'm a bit of a purist. I always season my cast iron new, or used (hey, I don't know WHAT someone else used that old piece of cast iron for maybe cleaning auto parts). I sand it down to bare metal, starting with about an 80 grit and finishing with 200.

Then I season. The end result is a glossy black mirror that puts Teflon to shame. There are two mistakes people make when seasoning not hot enough, not long enough. These mistakes give the same result a sticky brown coating that is definitely not non-stick, and the first time they bring any real heat to the pan, clouds of smoke that they neither expected or wanted. I see several complaints here that are completely due to not knowing this.

But there were a few pieces I needed (yes, needed, cast iron isn't about want, it's a need), and this was one of them, so I thought I'd give the Lodge pre-seasoning a try. Ordered last Friday, received this Friday free shipping, yay!

The first thing I noticed was the bumpy coating. The inside is actually rougher than the outside, and my hand was itching for the sandpaper, but that would have defeated the experiment. This time, I was going to give the Lodge pre-seasoning a chance before I broke out the sandpaper. So I scrubbed the pan out with a plastic brush and a little soapy water, rinsed well, put it on a medium burner, and waited. Cast iron tip number one give it a little time. Then give it a little more time. Cast iron conducts heat much more slowly than aluminum, so you have to have a little patience.

Then I threw in a pat of butter, and brought out the natural enemy of badly seasoned cast iron the egg. And, sure enough, it stuck but not badly, just in the middle. A bit of spatula work and I actually got a passable over-medium egg. Hmmm. But still not good enough. So I cleaned up the pan, and broke out the lard.

I have only one justification for using lard. I don't remember Grandma using refined hand-pressed organic flax oil, or purified extra-virgin olive oil made by real virgins. Nope, it was pretty much animal fat in her iron. A scoop of bacon grease from the mason jar beside the stove and she was ready to cook anything. Grandaddy wouldn't eat a piece of meat that had less than a half-inch of fat around it. "Tastes like a dry old shoe.", he'd declare if it was too lean. In the end, I'm sure their diet killed them, but they ate well in the meantime. Grandaddy was cut down at the tender age of 96, and Grandma lasted till 98. Eat what you want folks in the end, it's pretty much up to your genetics.

So I warmed up my new pieces, and smeared a very thin layer of lard all over them use your fingers. Towels, especially paper towels, will shed lint, and lint in your seasoning coat doesn't help things at all. Besides, it's kinda fun.

Here's cast iron tip number two season at the highest temp you think you'll ever cook at or higher. If you don't, you won't get the full non-stick thing, and the first time you bring it up to that temp you'll get clouds of smoke from the unfinished seasoning. I put my pieces in a cold oven, and set the temp for an hour at 500 degrees (F, not C). Yeah, I know, Lodge says 350. Lodge doesn't want panicked support calls from people whose house is full of smoke. Crank the heat up.

You have two choices here. You can put a fan in the kitchen window and blow smoke out of your house like the battleship Bismarck under attack by the Royal Navy, or invest in an oxygen mask. You will get smoke. You will get lots of smoke, especially if you're doing several pieces at once, like I just did. This is a good thing that's smoke that won't be jumping out to surprise you the first time you try to cook with any real heat. The goal is to heat until you don't get smoke, and in my experience, 500 degrees for an hour does that pretty well.

Let the pieces cool in the closed oven. Then re-grease and repeat. And repeat again. And don't glop the fat on. Just enough to coat. More thin layers are better than fewer gloppy layers. I managed four layers last night without my neighbors calling the fire department.

Seems like a lot of work? Look at it this way. It's a lifetime commitment. Treat your iron well, and it will love you right back like you've never been loved before. And this is pretty much a one-time deal, unless you do something silly.

The end result of my all-night smoking up the kitchen exercise? Dry, absolutely no stickiness, black as a coal mine at midnight and shiny but still bumpy could it possibly work with that rough surface?

I put the skillet back on a medium burner, put a pat of butter on and tossed in a couple of eggs. After the whites had set a little, I nudged them with a spatula, and they scooted across the pan. I'll be... it works. My wife came back from the store and wanted scrambled eggs. If there's anything that cast iron likes less than fried eggs, it's scrambled. But it was the same thing all over again. No stick. No cleanup. Just a quick hot water rinse with a brush in case something got left on the pan (I couldn't see anything, but hey), then I put it on a med-hi burner till dry, put a thin coat of lard on the pan and waited until I saw smoke for a minute. Let cool and hang up. Done.

So. do I like the bumpy texture of the Lodge pre-season? Nope. Does it work? Yes, and contrary to my misgivings, it works very well. My wife pointed out that even some Teflon cookware has textured patterns in it. The Lodge pre-season isn't a perfect surface out of the box but it does give you a big head-start. After a night's work, my iron is ready to face anything, and you just can't beat that.

Lodge makes a great product. For the quality, durability, and versatility, you can't beat Lodge cast iron. Plus, it's made in America. I like that. If you've never experienced cast iron cooking, you've just been cheating yourself. Plus, the price, for a piece of lifetime cookware, is insanely cheap.

And my sandpaper is still on the tool shelf.

Honest reviews on Lodge Pre-Seasoned Skillet, Black

I started buying an assortment of small Lodge skillets and serving plates. I really like the way that they keep food warm on the table which is especially useful for dinner parties when people are enjoying themselves and eating slower. In addition, they look pretty cool too, especially when you are serving rustic or country dishes.

I like the 6 1/2 inch skillet for both side dishes and entrées. In this short video I compare this size Lodge skillet to some of the other small pans. I also show a few of the dishes that I have made in it. I hope that this video review is helpful to you.

I own three pieces of cast iron cookware, and this item is one of them... and among my favorite cooking implements, period. In fact, I use this skillet most of all, and it doesn't even have a place in a cabinet! I keep it on the stove permanently, for that is how often I use it.

Beware that cast iron is not a quickie-cooking component (it takes time for the iron to heat, and it takes experience to gauge the iron's "perfect temperature" for sensitive dishes), but for dishes requiring steady, even heat and for cooks who require durable cookware with easy clean-up, cast iron CANNOT be beat!

This skillet is going to last forever. Its care is easy: I scrub it with hot water only, and dry it with an old rag and apply a thin layer of vegetable oil while the iron is still hot... a year and a half later, it's still rust-free and delivering the reliable service I have come to expect and admire. No scratches interfere with its performance, as is the case with my allegedly-long-lasting Wearever nonstick cookware set (what a waste of money THAT was!). Heck, I even use my cast-iron skillet for CREPES, and that's saying something! Despite the pan's weight, it's an immeasurably better nonstick crepe-cooker than teflon. In fact, I use my cast iron cookware for everything from french fries to spaghetti sauce to eggs and bacon to french toast! It's a dependable griddle, skillet, grill, and pot, and it goes right from the stovetop and into the oven for maximum versatility.

I am an avid home-chef, and I can say without exception that my cast-iron cookware is the best kitchen investment I've ever made.

It has thick sturdy walls. It's a little larger than it looks in the picture. The surfaces come clean easily. Comes with lid that doesn't seal over the top, but rather sits on the top (not as unevenly as a set of Cuisinart that I have). I would recommend it.

Warning: these bowls can't be put in the microwave and they can't be put in the dishwasher. The description does not mention this "minor" detail, but a small insert inside the box does. Who wants to hand-wash a mixing bowl? And who wants to move leftovers out of the storage container into something else in order to microwave it?

Maybe I should have assumed all of this because the bowls are partly made of steel, but so many items these days are microwave-safe even though they have metal in them. It never occurred to me that something made by Corelle could make my kitchen work MORE complicated.

Beyond that the bowls look fine, and they are supposedly scratch resistant, but they just "feel" like the color will start chipping off soon. And the lids aren't as tight as you might expect. They do fit, but I wouldn't want to tip one upside down.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

The bowls make a nice set. They look nice, are very light, and stack nicely together. They are not dishwasher safe, which isn't mentioned in the write-up but I knew that from reading the reviews. I got this set to match my new set of Corelle Simple Lines plates and bowls.

The set arrived quickly, and the only thing worth mentioning is that three of the six bowls had tiny, round flaws in the white exterior (two inside the bowl, and one outside the bowl). Not a terribly big deal, but these were brand new, out-of-the-box and I don't think they should have been shipped. And since the spots are black, they stand out VERY clearly against the white bowl.

Unfortunately, the bowls got washed, stacked, and put away, and I forgot to return them quickly. At this point I'll probably just keep them. The bowls work fine and aren't too expensive, but the flaws are disappointing. So I'm not unhappy, but I'm definately not excited about the set.

Best Deals for Corelle Coordinates 12-Piece Large Bowl Set, Simple Lines

I bought these bowls about 6 weeks ago and have used them less than that amount of time and I already have a spot on one of the bowls where the enamel has cracked and begun rusting. I'm extremely disappointed with this, as I am about the quality of the "Simple Lines" dinnerware collection which is what I bought the bowls to compliment. 10/12 I've had these bowls for about 6 months now and the lids have begun cracking as well. Total junk.

Honest reviews on Corelle Coordinates 12-Piece Large Bowl Set, Simple Lines

These bowls are nice and match my sketch and simple lines plates. I bought them to put out the food for BBQ outside so ppl could serve themselves and them close the bowl but it didn't really worked how I thought. They're much smaller than I've imagined. But stil they are classy, look resistant and it doesn't look to me that they'll chip or anything.

It's a cool bowl to after serving on the table to go directly to the fridge. The ony bad party is that you can't microwave, but then it's always better to take out only the amount you're gonna eat.

I would not have purchased this product had I known it was metal and the rims tend to rust which they have within a month. Product is not diswasher safe for this reason. Cannot use in microwave. Just totally unhappy with this purchase which doesn't usually happen on Amazon.

I bought a number of Food Network non-stick cookies sheets and bread pans at a local store. Twenty bucks each. Everything stuck to them and they easily stain.

I read the reviews here and bought two of these. Using the identical recipes, nothing sticks to the Anolon cookie sheets.

Contrary to what one reviewer wrote here, they don't warp under normal baking conditions. The metal is fairly thick and sturdy.

The silicon grips are cool enough to safely handle without gloves just a few minutes after coming out of the oven. The silicon grips also make it safer by providing friction -the sheets won't easily slip out of your hands. This is a major plus.

After using these cookies sheets, I just bought two of the Anolon bread pans. The dough sticks to the new Food Network pans even when spraying with oil and dusting with flour. That's about thirty dollars thrown away.

Here's what is written on the back of the Anonlon cookie sheet label which you don't get to see until you pry it off.

"Keep small children away from the oven while you are baking. Some pets have extremely sensitive respiratory systems and should be kept away from the kitchen area."

Why keep small children away from the oven? Because children are a safety hazard under any baking situation or because the non-stick surfaces are emitting toxic fumes? Should I keep the doors/windows open when I use this product? If one is concerned about the safety of non-stick coatings, stick to parchment paper and use ordinary non-stick cookie sheets.

"Avoid soaking pans overnight. Dry promptly and thoroughly after washing."

I'd love to know why drying drying promptly and thoroughly is necessary. I've never seen this before. Will the non-stick material peel off or toxic materials leach out?

"Although this bakeware is dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended."

Gee, the front of the label says "Dishwasher suitable and oven safe to 500 degrees F". I hate it when products boldly state that they're dishwasher safe on the outside and the hidden instructions say you should wash by hand. The Lifetime Limited Warranty doesn't cover damage caused by use of automatic dishwashers. While I never put non-stick cookware into a dishwasher anyway, this duplicity annoys me.

This is not a criticism, but a comment. I didn't realize that they made a 14x16 cookie sheet. The larger size would allow me to complete a batch without having to use an extra sheet. If your oven is large enough, you might want to buy the larger sheets.

[Edit Jun 15, 11. The usable area of the Anolon 14x16 cookie sheet is actually less than the Anolon 11x17 cookie sheet since the 14x16 refers to the outer dimensions. The 11x17 refers to the usable area. Go figure. Don't buy the 14x16. Also, the 14x16 only has one silicon grip which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I bought two 14x16 cookie sheets and I sent them back the next day.]

We bought this to replace some aging baking trays in our kitchen and having owned the Anolon professional range of pans for several years we hoped for a good quality product in the same ilk. So far we have been very impressed, the non-stick has performed fabulously and we've cooked everything from pastries to roasted vegetables directly on the tray with nothing sticking and they clean up like new. Have bought a second identical tray and use them for all our baking now

This is the best cookie sheet I've ever used. Everything slides off it but if you're not careful everthing slides together before placing the cookies in the oven if the pan is slightly warm. You don't need any cooking spray or anything. Great product.

I usually work with a 5 qt saute pan for the workhorse nonstick pan in my kitchen, and I don't usually spend a lot of money on them figuring that they aren't really going to last too long anyway. The last one I got was about twenty bucks from Costco and it did ok. When it finally died, I went looking for a new one. I found this on sale someplace and remembered that America's Test Kitchen liked the Simply Calphalon Nonstick 10-Inch Covered Omelette Pan, and figured it was worth a shot since it was from the same line. It was more money than I'm used to spending for this item, but I got a nice deal on it, so I went for it. I have been very happy with it. I love the big 5 qt size as I can make just about anything in it.

I love the helper loop as that makes it much easier to move the pan when it's full of food. Also, the handle, helper loop, and lid handle all have some silicone on them, so you can handle the pan even when it's hot. The handles do get warm, but I don't usually need to get pot holders.

The other thing I love is that this pan can go into the oven to 400 degrees. My only wish is that it could go all the way to 500 degrees. (I recently noticed that another pan from Calphalon can do that: Calphalon Unison Slide Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Omelette Pan, which I got for my son. But I really like the size and shape of the 5 qt saute and they don't do the Unison Slide in that pan at least, not yet. If they do, I will get one!)

It's heavier than my prior (cheaper) pan, but not too hard to handle.

It cooks nicely...everything I've made in it has been good, and I use this pan several times a week (I've had it for about a year now). It shows no sign of wear at this point but I do take care of it: no dishwasher, no metal utensils, etc.

This pan came with a 10 year warranty, I believe, and the Unison Slide I got for my son came with a lifetime warranty.

I ended up buying it from shopko.com since Amazon did not have it in stock. The item that I ordered (and received) is the exact part number that was reviewed by Cook's Illustrated.

All I can say is that Cook's was right. This pan has amazing non-stick properties. I've been using the pan for several months now on a daily basis (I'm on a carb-restricted diet, so I eat fried eggs for breakfast every morning) and the non-stick properties of this pan are simply amazing. No sticking. Clean-up is a breeze. I'm VERY satisfied with this pan and will not hesitate to purchase another when this one wears out (hey, nothing lasts forever).

Those who complain that they found this pan model (E9380864) at a lower price elsewhere are confused. They were looking at a different, quite inferior product. This model has been out of stock in stores and internet for months. The other, cheaper model has been mistaken for this one. I know; I bought one of them. The model number was completely different, but I thought it was a replacement. Not so.

OK, I love this pan's non stick... the CI review and the amazon people were right... however the one I got has a definite "hump" in the middle. If you put a tbs of oil in it as per a recipe, it all runs to the sides, leaving the middle dry. if you put eggs in it to fry, same thing. I wish I would have returned it, as no one else has had this issue.... so long story short, check it when you get it, and return it if you get a bum one like I did... I would order another and simply check it for this issue...

Honest reviews on T-fal Professional Total Nonstick Oven Safe Thermo-Spot Heat

After reading about this product on Cook's Illustrated, I decided to hunt for one. Lots of trouble finding it, but at some point, Amazon came through with the T-Fal Professional Nonstick (with thermo spot

and prometal pro interior). After buying Calphalon, Cuisinart and other nonsticks over the years, I have been very disappointed because they really aren't nonstick and don't hold up well. This pan is amazing! I use it for omelets, vegetable sautes, meat sautes and general stovetop uses. It is lighter weight than most cooktop pans, but it is wide with slightly sloped sides so I can get a lot in it. And things saute to a nice brown with minimal fata winner in my opinion! I sure hope Tfal makes this product available again!

I love this mixer. A lot of the reviews I read made me feel a bit hesitant to purchase this, but so glad I did. I had a cheap had mixer for years that was difficult to use always wanted the luxury of a stand mixer that could also double as a hand mixer. This fits this bill perfectly. I'm not a fancy baker, I like making box cakes or mixing simple recipe items, it works great. If you are someone who loves making bread, not sure that this would be heavy duty enough for you. I never tried it although it comes with the attachments to make it, possibly a small batch would work. It looks great on my counter with all my other stainless steel and I didn't have to spend all that money on a big fancy model that I really didn't need. This was an excellent value for the price.

I bought this mixer more than three months ago and hoped I would find something a few levels above what's typical at outlet stores, something of a high quality. Its not perfect but definitely the quality you'd want in a mixer. I've made four cakes and two pies to date with this mixer and can tell you there is nothing "flimsy" about it. Getting down to the business of it: the bowl you receive is designed to fit perfectly on the movable stand but does not give your beaters the best access to the bottom sides of the bowl due to an odd ridge in the bowl itself. Simple fix: use a spatula. Problem solved, seriously. The six speeds feel more like 3 with the "high" "medium" and "low" each having a step-up before its speed. You really don't even need six speeds but its nice to have that control. Because the stand rotates the bowl can turn by itself. Its hard to say why it does this but you won't find it as a huge issue. I've heard someone else complain about gaps in the grate of the mixer or it being hard to go from the stand to your hand or this, that, and the other. I'm no food gadget geek, just a guy who needs to bake a cake once or twice every couple of months, and I used this thing with little difficulty (just takes a little getting used to).

Bottom line: you want a mixer that can do it all? Have $300 ready. Want a mixer that looks nice in the kitchen, looks professional, has a nice amount of power, won't give you an issue while making a cake, and simply gets the job done? Then this mixer shouldn't do too badly. There's a slight learning curve but I'm never deterred from making my favorite recipes with this mixer. There's nothing wrong with it, it won't fall apart as you take it out of the box, no right-off-the-bat noticeable flaws, nothing that'll make you feel like you just wasted your money. I've really come to enjoy it and would only consider buying a heavy duty one as my next mixer.

Buyer's note: there appears to be the exact same mixer on the "hamilton beach mixer" page for only bucks. $ is fair but you'd practically HAVE to buy it at $ (if that's not some sort of typo).

Best Deals for Hamilton Beach 6 Speed Classic Stand Mixer 64650

I received this as a gift and had my suspicions from the beginning. It mixes adequately with the regular paddles. The dough hooks do not work well. Even when following the mixer's directions to a T, I couldn't get cookie dough or bread dough to mix evenly. Two dough hooks doesn't make sense to me in the first place. I haven't used the whisk, but I'm sure it's fine. It's hard to mess that up. I do like that the top is removable. However, it isn't needed since you can pretty much use any bowl with the stand. There is no locking mechanism. This also causes spinning if you don't hold the bowl still. I also think that the speed starts out too fast. I like a slower speed when adding dry ingredients, so they don't poof everywhere. I'm sure you would get the same effect, except a slosh, when making whipped cream. My advice is to either buy a cheap hand mixer, which is exactly what this is, or buy a real mixer.

Honest reviews on Hamilton Beach 6 Speed Classic Stand Mixer 64650

I got this mixer one year ago and it was nice while it lasted. The adjustable bottom was useful to mix the batch evenly. I've made a few batches of cookies, brownies and bread, however, it broke in about 9 months. I probably used this less than 10 times. i haven't dropped it and it was working when i had last put it away so it seems the motor just died for no reason. There is no warranty so buyer beware.

This is a reletively "OK" mixer, it mixes medium to large quanties very well however, small quanties won't be mixed as well as you would hope. I tried to beat some egg whites and even when the top was nice and firm the egg was still clear and runny on the bottom. Not a very good mixer

I have always loved these tortilla warmers. They keep the tortillas warm longer. I really wanted the one in the picture, I got one with blue decorations. It's okay though, I still love it.

I took a chance on this item, hoping it would work with my Anolon cookware... it does! The various graduated rings fit both my 4QT stockpot (approx 8" diam) and my 3QT saucepan (approx 7" diam). As an added bonus, the glass lid from my 4QT pot fit the steamer. Great for steaming jumbo artichokes and just about anything else. Can now throw away that cheap folding basket steamer that always tipped over and dumped the food into the water.

I bought this steamer in hopes that it would fit my 9" pot. It fits as if it came with the pot. It also gave me a lid for this pot which was lost in one of the different location moves. The two handles make it easy to tip the vegtables on to the plates. I also do not get burned from steam as I did with the insert I was using before. Recommend

I make lots of veggies at dinner and needed a steamer that holds a lot. I use this every night and find it wonderful since it holds so much. It can be used inside any pan. I love that it it stainless steel, as well.

Honest reviews on Cooks Standard NC-00211 Steamer Pan with Lid

This steamer has a nice weight, fits a variety of pans due to the graduated bottom and is easy to clean. Nice looking, too

OXO Good Grips Brownie Spatula Review

OXO Good Grips Brownie Spatula, Red
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

The spatula is the perfect size for brownies and such, and we purchased for use with nonstick cookware (a 9x13 pan in particular). We used it often, but unfortunately the plastic just snapped after we'd had it for only a few months. So great design, but disappointed in the quality. OXO usually has great stuff.

The spatula is nicely designed for comfort, but is a poor choice of material as it is made of hard plastic. It snapped in half the second time I used it.

Best Deals for OXO Good Grips Brownie Spatula

I was ecstatic to own a spatula that was the perfect shape and size for removing brownies from the pan. However, the plastic broke with only a few uses (and it is not like too much force was applied). I hope OXO reads these reviews and improves this item. Such a disappointment.

Honest reviews on OXO Good Grips Brownie Spatula

Nice Spatula for using with non-stick bakeware. Just don't apply too much pressure when using, I think if you did it would snap & break the handle off.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for OXO Good Grips Brownie Spatula

If you read closely, you'll see it's not a metal spatula. That takes some getting used to, and I feel like it's breakable because it's plastic, though that's probably not true. Spatula is thick, so doesn't make a clean, barely perceptible cut, but an 1/8" or thicker separation in the brownies. Though it's much narrower, the 'serving spatula' might be better for brownies. I plan on trying that.

I've been on an American made mission for a few years and wanted to replace my very expensive Chinese made Stainless steel cookware with All Clad which is made in America. I buy one piece of All Clad pot a month on sale and was desparate for a non-stick pan which seemed to take forever to go on sale. My husband and son kept cooking eggs in the regular saute pan and it was a hassle to clean it. I found out that Nordic Ware was making cookware (they are famous for their bundt pans). I checked Amazon and found this pan for less than 1/4 of what All Clad would cost me on sale. I read that the pan was lightweight so I was surprised how heavy it is. I would call it medium weight and only slightly lighter than my All Clad pan of the same size. The difference is that the Nordic Ware has a hollow handle. It also has a dull, brushed aluminum look exterior (although it is steel) as opposed to the shiny stainless exterior but for what I paid I can overlook it. I'm really happy with the pan and with not having to scour eggs and other sticky things out of the pan. I love All Clad but I'm really impressed with Nordic Ware and it is American made. You could spend two to three times more for cheap Chinese made pans

The pan seems to be a little shallow and a little lightweight but it has not warped or failed me. In general, reviews of less expensive pans suggest that the nonstick surface wears off over time. I will not feel bad about replacing this pan when the time comes because it was reasonably priced. It looks like you need to get into the $200 to $300 range to get a really high quality pan. For the price, this one is an overall good deal.

This pan works great with induction. I am using it with a Duxtop 8300ST and a Nuwave PIC PRO. I tested with boiling water and the bubbles were as evenly distributed as my steel/copper/aluminum/stainless steel clad pan.

Honest reviews on Nordic Ware Superior Steel Saute Pan

I wanted a pan for surface cooking that was also oven-safe. When I took it out of the package, I could see that it wasn't flat to a surface, but I figured it would sorta do on the cook-top. Well, NO. It warped with heat and was really uneven. It flattened out as it cooled, to the original un-levelness, but so what --still unlevel. What a disappointment from Nordic Ware, a company that has produced other products that for me have been quite satisfactory.

This item does perfectly for making bite size pieces. Not to big, nor too small. On the flispide, if you're having a party, they're good for making LOTS of pieces, but at the expense of a lot of time. This mold is good for making pieces for, probably, 3 or less people at a time. It's solid otherwise, and stands the dishwasher with no problem.

These are smaller than i'd expected when I ordered them, but they work really well when using them. I rinse mine with water before every couple of presses to keep the rice from sticking and tend to use flavored or fried rice with only a little bit of veggie in it with these, and because of their size it's really fun to dip them in sauces and eat them that way.

I like churning butter by hand. When the butter appears it's kind of like a miracle. I've been using "Lehman's Best" churn and this little honey is so far superior there is no comparison. The butter comes in a third the time and with a lot less effort. This is the one to get. You can get a pint and a half of cream into this one. The Lehman's churn holds a gallon but, really, who has a gallon of cream?

I've made butter before in the (big name mixer) with a balloon whisk which made a mess of the walls. That was good butter, btw.

In my goal to get off the grid, I've started to find hand tools to do the things I rely upon the power company to provide the power for me to do it.

Churning my own butter, by hand, from a pint of full cream was quite satisfying and only took about half an hour. No preservatives, look up "butter bell".

Gears that are connected to the handle broke the first time we tried to make butter. Also, shavings from the gears end up inside the jar.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Paderno World Cuisine Fresh Butter Maker

We wanted a simple, easy to use and clean, butter churn that makes butter and would hold up. This was not it.

We have been making butter using the mason jar method. This is simple enough but a lot of work for much butter. Just skim the cream, but it in the jar, optionally add salt, and pass it around the table for everyone to shake. Then wash the jar.

This butter churn has a few major flaws:

1. If you churn too hard cream goes up inside the lid (between the white and silver part) and it cannot be cleaned without removing the lock washers :(

2. The plastic gears don't look like they'd make it for the long haul.

3. It feels like something is grinding, and black metal dust seemed to be coming up through the lid.

4. It is too tall to put back in the fridge when you are frustrated that no butter is being produced.

5. It didn't produce any butter. Maybe we got the recipe wrong (cream + minimal salt) or the temperature (cream came out of the fridge, but surely warmed up after an hour or so of churning), or maybe we put in too much cream (there was no fill line) but in any case we never got any butter.

Glad for Amazon's great return policy, but wish we could find a simple, quality butter churn.
