This has to be one of the best deals around, even at twice the price, because it replaces so many other things, and is so durable.

The containers work nicely for food storage, but they also can be used for cooking. They go from freezer to oven or microwave, and are dishwasher safe as well. Pyrex is practically unbreakable. With normal use, this set could easily last a lifetime. At the current price, they actually cost less than plastic containers, which do not have either the durability or versatility.

If all that's not enough, consider the health benefits. Glass will not leech plasticiser into your food, and there's no dioxin to worry about when microwaving.

I don't usually rave about kitchen items, but after I recieved this set, I rushed back to order another. I'm getting rid of most of the plastics in my cabinets today!

A passionate home cook that has been honing her cooking skills for the last 25 years writes this review. My favorite cookbooks are "The Professional Chef" by the Culinary Institute and "Culinary Artistry. Cooking is my form of therapy. I have owned my set of these for at least 5 years, and possibly longer. I have not broken a single piece in that time. This may not sound like much but I am hard on things, and for all of them to still be intact is a minor miracle in my home. The glass is very tough.

Pros:

1. Glass is very tough, seems almost indestructible

2. I like that they are not plastic, so I feel safe about reheating food in them

3. The lids fit well for the first 4 years or so

4. Replacement lids are available at the Corning and Revere Factory Outlet stores

5. These containers fit well into lunch bags so that you family can take your healthy home cooked food to work or school.

6. The containers stack well inside each other for space cramped kitchens

7. You can bake in these and then cool the food (I place the entire container into a roasting pan filled with ice water) put on the lid and slide the pan into the refrigerator.

8. You freeze can food in these containers

Cons:

1. The lids do stretch and warp over time, I recommend buying extra lids before you need them. My lids lasted approximately 4 years.

Overall, I would recommend these to anyone that likes to cook in quantity and doesn't like to reheat food in plastic. I use these everyday in my kitchen.

Best Deals for Pyrex Storage 10-Piece Set

Glass kitchenware is absolutely terrific, I have used Pyrex for many years and have a lot of it. Original "pyrex" is a very hard and durable glass that is tough and can withstand fluctuations in temperature without getting too plussed about it. With my love affair of the stuff, I purchased a few new clear round pyrex pieces recently, and was surprised to see that the clear yellowish color had changed, it is now clear greenish. I am a glass artist and melt different kinds of glass regularly, and the color of the new pyrex dishes in the store reminded me of what is called float (window) or soda-lime glass. I thought maybe it was the store lighting but when the new pyrex dishes arrived home they were still greenish.

Then I got the current issue of Consumers Reports last week...they had an article on the safety of pyrex. Apparently it has been breaking and exploding unexpectedly in home kitchens, in some cases causing traumatic injury. It turns out that the "pyrex" name, first of all, was sold by Corningware to two other companies...Corningware left the home glassware business in the late 1990's. I was not aware of this. Then I read about the complaints that have been filed about shattering, cracking, and worst of all, exploding dishes. Why this is happening is fuzzy some claim that the "pyrex" base glass formula has changed. To me it looks like it my new pyrex looks like greenish soda-lime glass, not thermal shock resistant yellowish borosilicate glass. But the company making the new pyrex denies this, and of course glass color can be altered....when I dug into the issue generally, what is going on is really unclear.

The ONLY thing that is clear is that people seem to be having a lot more trouble with new pyrex as compared to old pyrex be it from a base material change, the glass not being tempered properly, or people now knowing how to use it. When pyrex was still owned by Corningware through the late 1990's, they were not having these kinds of complaints and issues from the public.

Although I did not resonate with the methodology that Consumer Reports used to test the glass dishes, I did agree with their conclusion to be careful with the new pyrex. In following prior Consumer Reports threads I saw that some independent labs cut up and analyzed some new pyrex items, and they discovered that the tempering of the soda-lime glass was not even. That is sobering. Tempering is a process that introduces stress gradients into glass to make it more durable under impact conditions if you drop it on a floor, for example. But improperly tempered glass can hide little or large tracts of internal stress that you can't see. The dish may be fine at room temperature but if you heat it can break or explode with no warning, sending the glass and whatever was in it everywhere.

Again I'm not sure if this explains why people are having trouble with unstable dishes, or if new users of glass bakeware just don't know how to handle it, or if there indeed was a post-Corningware basic material change from borosilicate glass to tempered soda lime. What I do know is that under conditions of heat, "boro" as it is called is just a very tough glass. It's due to the basic properties of the material soda lime glass has a coeffficient of thermal expansion anywhere from 90ish to 100ish, whereas borosilicate is half that. As a result, borosilicate glass, which is what pyrex was originally made of, and still is over in Europe, is more resistant to thermal shock than pyrex made from soda lime glass. Borosilicate has withstood the test of time, it started in chemistry labs as a great material to use safely under tough conditions (that is, tough conditions for glass, which does not like to be heated) on things like bunsen burners, test ovens, etc. Somewhere along the line this was recognized and "pyrex" was brought into home kitchens.

In Europe "pyrex" is still made of borosilicate by a company called Arc International (they bought the name from Corningware too). They have not received the hundreds of complaints they have not had any complaints about shattering, breaking, or exploding dishes (under low to mid heat conditions) that have been logged in the U.S. about the new pyrex. Their line is really limited, howveer...I could not find another company with some of the nifty storage designs that are sold here in the U.S.

If you are wondering about the possible stability of your old pyrex as I was? It does not seem to be clear when the new soda lime glass replaced the old pyrex borosilicate glass for bakeware, some are saying the change was made in the 1940's, others are saying it happened after the pyrex name changed hands in the late 1990's. Soda lime glass has a greenish tinge and looks like window or car glass, whereas borosilicate has a yellowish sunny tinge to it this is easily seen in the edges of a dish. However, glass color can be tinted so this is not a foolproof guide. Based on what is happening, it seems like a guideline of glass made by Corningware before 1998 can be relied upon as glass that is stable under the conditions of proper usage. As an alternative, you could also purchase the european made borosilicate pyrex, which is also sold here on Amazon. I don't know if there is more than one company or not, Arc International has a limited line as compared to US made pyrex.

All of this said, the pyrex glassware being made by the new companies is being used by millions and millions of households every day without issue? It may be fine for you? But please be careful if you are going to heat it be sure to understand how not to subject the pieces to thermal shock by reading the instructions carefully!!! Especially don't take a hot dish out of the oven and set it on a room temperature or cold counter, stovetop, or in cold water, instead place it on a thermally insulating hot pad to cool.

Honest reviews on Pyrex Storage 10-Piece Set

I had a set of Pyrex bowls in the early 90's that were made of borsilicate glass (bluish hue) from Corning and they were the best bowls ever made. I went from freezer to microwave to oven with them. I foolishly gave them away to my old roommate when we parted ways as a going away gift. I figured I'd just buy more of the same. I didn't realize that Corning had sold their glass bowl business to a company called World Kitchen in the US. The new bowls from Would Kitchen (aka Pyrex) use a soda lime glass (greenish hue) which, although tempered, cannot withstand heat or freezing and will break easily. I was microwaving some ravioli in a bowl and afterwards set the bowl on a hot pad on the kitchen counter. I stepped away for a second and came back to get my ravioli. As I approached the bowl, it exploded startling me half to death. A piece of the glass went into the skin on my face right next to my left eye. A inch to right and my eye would've been gone! The glass was HOT!!! The skin healed, but I now have a permanent dent about a half inch long in my skin just to left of my left eye. I also had a huge mess of glass and splattered ravioli to clean off the floor, the counter top, the walls, the kitchen sink, the refrigerator and the dishwasher. I called the phone # on the box and the company said that their bowls were perfectly safe and that what happened must've been a fluke. They were no help at all and didn't seem concerned one bit that I had injured myself. I had to throw the bowls out. I also found out (getting all my info from the Consumer Reports website) that in the United Kingdom, Corning sold to a company called ARC international that still uses the old formula glass (borsilicate) and the name Pyrex. I wanted my old bowls back badly. So I went to amazon.com.uk (the amazon website in the United Kingdom). I found the bowls I was looking for (made by ARC International) and bought them spending about forty some dollars in the end after shipping. The bowls arrived and they are just as I remembered. I've been using them for about 5 months now and no problems whatsoever! Please don't buy these bowls, unless you buy them from Amazon's United Kingdom website amazon.com.uk or some other European website.

My husband reheated some spaghetti w/ chili in a Pyrex storage container today. He placed it in the microwave w/o problem. He removed it and began eating. About 3-4 minutes later, the bowl exploded. Luckily nobody got hurt, but there was a loud pop and some flying glass. I replaced all of my plastic storage containers with Pyrex due to concerns about reheating plastic in a microwave. Now, I feel like I need to find a new solution. If you do a little research, you'll find that there have been many cases of exploding Pyrex. I know I'm no longer comfortable using it.

I own several Lodge cast iron products and use them everyday. I have 3 teeneage boys that enjoy cooking, and after they destroyed a few teflon coated pans, I decided I would go heavy into cast iron. These pans are indestructible. You can use them in the oven or stovetop, and if you keep it seasoned properly food will not stick. Also, to avoid sticking problems, you may want to remember to allow the pan to get hot before applying oil or food.

As to seasoning, the Logic line now comes preseasoned. But don't make a big deal about this. To season a cast iron skillet simply coat it lightly with oil and bake it for a half hour or so. I have also seasoned these skillets on the stovetop. Cast iron is also great because it does not easily scrap like stainless steel and aluminum pots. Aluminum pans are painful to me, as my teeth fillings react to the aluminum. With cast iron, you won't have this problem. I also take my Lodge pan camping and set it right over the coals to cook. No melted handles or scorched bottoms to mess with.

Let me start by saying we have a kitchen full of 20+ pieces of Calphalon Hard Annodized Commercial cookware. I was always of the opinion that quality cookware carried a price that was justified by the performace of the cookware. So I thought if I wanted cast iron I should look at LeCreuset... wrong! Lodge blew that theory out the window! I can't express how well this simple pan works. Let it get hot and it will hold the temp like nothing else, oven to cooktop. I finally decided to get a good cast iron skillet after hearing Alton Brown (Host of Good Eats ...TV Food Network ...) rave about cast iron for the last few years. He steared me to Lodge, Lodge's web site (lodgemgf.com) told me about the pre-seasoned "Logic" line. This stuff makes cast iron simple. No messing around with seasoning a new pan. Simple care instructions. And clear instructions to reseason should the need occur. At the price these pans sell, there is no excuse to not have one, (or more) in your kitchen. It will soon become your favorite pan. I bought a 5 quart Lodge Logic Dutch Oven at the same time and it is fantastic as well!

Sorry for the long review for the short review, count the stars!

I'm a bit of a purist. I always season my cast iron new, or used (hey, I don't know WHAT someone else used that old piece of cast iron for maybe cleaning auto parts). I sand it down to bare metal, starting with about an 80 grit and finishing with 200.

Then I season. The end result is a glossy black mirror that puts Teflon to shame. There are two mistakes people make when seasoning not hot enough, not long enough. These mistakes give the same result a sticky brown coating that is definitely not non-stick, and the first time they bring any real heat to the pan, clouds of smoke that they neither expected or wanted. I see several complaints here that are completely due to not knowing this.

But there were a few pieces I needed (yes, needed, cast iron isn't about want, it's a need), and this was one of them, so I thought I'd give the Lodge pre-seasoning a try. Ordered last Friday, received this Friday free shipping, yay!

The first thing I noticed was the bumpy coating. The inside is actually rougher than the outside, and my hand was itching for the sandpaper, but that would have defeated the experiment. This time, I was going to give the Lodge pre-seasoning a chance before I broke out the sandpaper. So I scrubbed the pan out with a plastic brush and a little soapy water, rinsed well, put it on a medium burner, and waited. Cast iron tip number one give it a little time. Then give it a little more time. Cast iron conducts heat much more slowly than aluminum, so you have to have a little patience.

Then I threw in a pat of butter, and brought out the natural enemy of badly seasoned cast iron the egg. And, sure enough, it stuck but not badly, just in the middle. A bit of spatula work and I actually got a passable over-medium egg. Hmmm. But still not good enough. So I cleaned up the pan, and broke out the lard.

I have only one justification for using lard. I don't remember Grandma using refined hand-pressed organic flax oil, or purified extra-virgin olive oil made by real virgins. Nope, it was pretty much animal fat in her iron. A scoop of bacon grease from the mason jar beside the stove and she was ready to cook anything. Grandaddy wouldn't eat a piece of meat that had less than a half-inch of fat around it. "Tastes like a dry old shoe.", he'd declare if it was too lean. In the end, I'm sure their diet killed them, but they ate well in the meantime. Grandaddy was cut down at the tender age of 96, and Grandma lasted till 98. Eat what you want folks in the end, it's pretty much up to your genetics.

So I warmed up my new pieces, and smeared a very thin layer of lard all over them use your fingers. Towels, especially paper towels, will shed lint, and lint in your seasoning coat doesn't help things at all. Besides, it's kinda fun.

Here's cast iron tip number two season at the highest temp you think you'll ever cook at or higher. If you don't, you won't get the full non-stick thing, and the first time you bring it up to that temp you'll get clouds of smoke from the unfinished seasoning. I put my pieces in a cold oven, and set the temp for an hour at 500 degrees (F, not C). Yeah, I know, Lodge says 350. Lodge doesn't want panicked support calls from people whose house is full of smoke. Crank the heat up.

You have two choices here. You can put a fan in the kitchen window and blow smoke out of your house like the battleship Bismarck under attack by the Royal Navy, or invest in an oxygen mask. You will get smoke. You will get lots of smoke, especially if you're doing several pieces at once, like I just did. This is a good thing that's smoke that won't be jumping out to surprise you the first time you try to cook with any real heat. The goal is to heat until you don't get smoke, and in my experience, 500 degrees for an hour does that pretty well.

Let the pieces cool in the closed oven. Then re-grease and repeat. And repeat again. And don't glop the fat on. Just enough to coat. More thin layers are better than fewer gloppy layers. I managed four layers last night without my neighbors calling the fire department.

Seems like a lot of work? Look at it this way. It's a lifetime commitment. Treat your iron well, and it will love you right back like you've never been loved before. And this is pretty much a one-time deal, unless you do something silly.

The end result of my all-night smoking up the kitchen exercise? Dry, absolutely no stickiness, black as a coal mine at midnight and shiny but still bumpy could it possibly work with that rough surface?

I put the skillet back on a medium burner, put a pat of butter on and tossed in a couple of eggs. After the whites had set a little, I nudged them with a spatula, and they scooted across the pan. I'll be... it works. My wife came back from the store and wanted scrambled eggs. If there's anything that cast iron likes less than fried eggs, it's scrambled. But it was the same thing all over again. No stick. No cleanup. Just a quick hot water rinse with a brush in case something got left on the pan (I couldn't see anything, but hey), then I put it on a med-hi burner till dry, put a thin coat of lard on the pan and waited until I saw smoke for a minute. Let cool and hang up. Done.

So. do I like the bumpy texture of the Lodge pre-season? Nope. Does it work? Yes, and contrary to my misgivings, it works very well. My wife pointed out that even some Teflon cookware has textured patterns in it. The Lodge pre-season isn't a perfect surface out of the box but it does give you a big head-start. After a night's work, my iron is ready to face anything, and you just can't beat that.

Lodge makes a great product. For the quality, durability, and versatility, you can't beat Lodge cast iron. Plus, it's made in America. I like that. If you've never experienced cast iron cooking, you've just been cheating yourself. Plus, the price, for a piece of lifetime cookware, is insanely cheap.

And my sandpaper is still on the tool shelf.

I started buying an assortment of small Lodge skillets and serving plates. I really like the way that they keep food warm on the table which is especially useful for dinner parties when people are enjoying themselves and eating slower. In addition, they look pretty cool too, especially when you are serving rustic or country dishes.

I like the 6 1/2 inch skillet for both side dishes and entrées. In this short video I compare this size Lodge skillet to some of the other small pans. I also show a few of the dishes that I have made in it. I hope that this video review is helpful to you.

I own three pieces of cast iron cookware, and this item is one of them... and among my favorite cooking implements, period. In fact, I use this skillet most of all, and it doesn't even have a place in a cabinet! I keep it on the stove permanently, for that is how often I use it.

Beware that cast iron is not a quickie-cooking component (it takes time for the iron to heat, and it takes experience to gauge the iron's "perfect temperature" for sensitive dishes), but for dishes requiring steady, even heat and for cooks who require durable cookware with easy clean-up, cast iron CANNOT be beat!

This skillet is going to last forever. Its care is easy: I scrub it with hot water only, and dry it with an old rag and apply a thin layer of vegetable oil while the iron is still hot... a year and a half later, it's still rust-free and delivering the reliable service I have come to expect and admire. No scratches interfere with its performance, as is the case with my allegedly-long-lasting Wearever nonstick cookware set (what a waste of money THAT was!). Heck, I even use my cast-iron skillet for CREPES, and that's saying something! Despite the pan's weight, it's an immeasurably better nonstick crepe-cooker than teflon. In fact, I use my cast iron cookware for everything from french fries to spaghetti sauce to eggs and bacon to french toast! It's a dependable griddle, skillet, grill, and pot, and it goes right from the stovetop and into the oven for maximum versatility.

I am an avid home-chef, and I can say without exception that my cast-iron cookware is the best kitchen investment I've ever made.

I have always wanted a cast iron enameled dutch oven but as with many people could not justify the price of the leading French brand (even at the outlet!) I carefully researched this product & others for several months, and after much pondering, decided to order this from Amazon (try and find it at a lower price with FREE shipping, it is just NOT possible)

I have been using this for a month now & decided that I should post a review for all those other folks trying to decide if the cheaper one is "just as good" My simple answer is "YES!!!"...... I have used this for EVERY crockpot/slow cooker recipe & it has performed MUCH better than any electric slow cooker that I have ever owned! So good, that I have gotten rid of my electric slow cooker forever, this is soo much more versatile. Good cooking is all about having the right tool, well this one has been missing from my kitchen until now. I have cooked roasts, BBQ, soups, chili etc it all comes out perfect EVERY time! I have even used for making really sticky things, like rice crispy treats, easiest cleanup ever.

I will go over a few key points.....

-follow the directions for use, someone took the time to write them, let's respect the author

-yes it does take a little while to heat up BUT it retains that temp for hours & quite consistently

-let it cool completely before washing & HAND wash it, yes it is heavy but clean up really is a breeze. Soak in some warm soapy water & voila!

-you can use this stove top or oven

-beautiful handle on top is VERY functional & easy to grip

-side handle are wide & easy to grip as well

-maybe only "complaint" would be MAKE more colors to compete with the"other brand"

If you are "on the fence" about buying a "cheaper" enameled cast iron dutch oven, don't hesitate ANY longer, get this one & you won't be disappointed!

No I can't afford the expensive dutch oven I might have wanted. That's true.

However I could afford this for my birthday last year. It's now over 8 months later. I've used this wonderful thing several times.

I've confronted it with gentle care and accidental neglect. It's held up to all my use admirably.

First of all... the color is pretty true to the picture. It's beautiful. A mix of lime-green and olive-green to create, apparently, a bright, glorious apple-green color.

Mine arrived with a few minor flaws which I documented with photos in case it got worse over time. These were essentially cosmetic but could be potential weak spots for chipping later.

This thing is heavy as all quality dutch ovens are going to be... but I can lift it adequately, even filled with many pounds of meat and vegetables.

I find this bakes things beautifully. For whatever reason there is a bit of sticking when I use it on my stove top, I always use it on the correct heat settings but I do cook with less oil than the average cook probably does. It has never once caused an issue though.

I love how easily it goes from stove to oven. I love how huge it is. It holds a lot of food. The lid is snug and secure. The handle I thought was beautiful but was nervous about how it would be to hold such a curvy thin handle. I found it to be surprisingly comfortable. Only once when I was in a rush was it even mildly difficult to hold.

This is a really great product and I'd recommend it to anyone. I did a lot of reviewing and extensive product comparison before I purchased this Lodge L Series Enamel 6 Qt Dutch Oven and I found that this had the best ratio of price, enamel layers, quality workmanship and customer service. I did write Lodge before I ordered this and all of my questions were answered. I read through the Care Info before using this and I'm glad I did. I now only use wooden and soft silicon utensils with this and do not scratch it. This precious thing is washed and dried lovingly by hand and is a lovely bright bit of Green on my shelf. I have to say... if I had a million dollars I might just buy Lodge again.

Before I purchased this, when contacting customer service, I discussed a review about a customer having issues returning a faulty or damaged Lodge product that was purchased from Amazon.com and they assured me that they were VERY willing and able to accept those kinds of returns if there was an issue. I feel confident that if I had a problem, Lodge would do what it takes to make sure I'm satisfied.

If you want this product to last and last... take care of it because your children could easily be using this dutch oven long after you're gone from this Earth.

Honest reviews on Lodge L Series E6D50 Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven, Apple Green

I am not going to go into detail of all the pros and cons of this pan. I think they are well listed by the other reviewers however, if you are looking for this pan and wondering why the price has jumped drastically, it is because Lodge has temporarily discontinued the "L" Series (enameled cast iron) and the "Signature" Series (cast iron with stainless accents). You will not find these again till they re-introduce them with new look and design tentatively late 2013. So if you love the signature series buy them while you can or wait till they come back. I personally dont recommend the "L" series over the "Color" series which is not being discontinued but if you really wanted an "L" series get it while you can. (EXCEPTION: the apple pots are not being discontinued)

I'm so disappointed in this dutch oven. I received it as a wedding gift, love the green color, and use it about once a week. Despite my careful care (handwash only), after two years it has several one inch chips to the outside green enamel on the bottom. This was usable (despite the fact it was starting to rust) until a one inch piece of enamel chipped off on the inside cooking surface with flaking edges. This dutch oven isn't even that much of a bargain at over $100 dollars. Spend a little more and buy a better pot, this one will not last.

I have had this set about 6 months and I love it. I don't have to use any oil with anything and nothing sticks. I have had no warping problem at all as another review mentioned. I highly recommend this pan, the handles stay cool so it is very easy to use.

I received this set as a gift. After using the pan a few times (actually, twice) it warped and is now unusable on my flat top cooking range. We're talking through NORMAL use too, I didn't rapidly heat cycle pan or do anything out of the ordinary. Brand new pan which is now useless. It does have a warrantee from Caphalon but it requires that it be shipped to them at my own cost. I would avoid this set and the lack of longevity of this product makes me worry about the other set of Calphalon cookware I received.

**EDIT**: After e-mailing Calphalon their customer service have offered to send me a paid shipping label so I may return the pan at no expense to me and they will send a new one. Hopefully the replacement pan will not be defective.

**EDIT**: After a 2 month wait, I received a replacement pan. The replacement pan was also defective and I have again contacted Calphalon customer service and am waiting to hear back from them. When I received the new pan I filled it with water and heated it over medium high heat. Sure enough the replacement is warp just as bad as the original.

I've had this pan for over two years now and it is still as sturdy and non-stick as new. It's a little larger than I thought it would be, but not unwieldy and it's nice that you can cook an entire meal in it without overcrowding. It looks like the Top Chef set is no longer available, but I'd still recommend the pan alone if you can find it.

I already owned a Calphalon nonstick skillet which I love because it's a convenient size and the handles never burn you, so it's easy to take from stove to table. I wanted another Calphalon pan for this reason primarily, and the packaged set was a great price on special (around $40--I see from the Amazon website that it's gone way up, however). The spoon and dishtowel included are of good quality. The cookbook is worthless, featuring tv chefs and idiotic recipes. (I donated it to a library booksale.) Nonetheless, at $40 this was an excellent deal; however at the usual Amazon price I'm not sure it's worth it to get some extras that would only cost a few dollars anyway.

I just bought these and was so pleased when they arrived. I like the Kitchen Aid brand as it is, but these were a perfect purchase for me. The set filled out my missing utensils and are a handsome addition to my kitchen.

They feel robust and well made and it is an excellent selection for a starter set or even as a later addition to your regular kitchen utensils.

I couldn't be happier with all these Kitchenaid products. The spatulas, spoons, and thongs are very sturdy and don't bend easily when using. The can opener is easy to turn and the peeler has a nice big handle for an easy grip. This was a great bundle of quality to buy.

Honest reviews on Lifetime Brands KC448BXOBA Tool & Gadget Set, Black, 17-Pc.

This is a great one-stop way to get 90% of what you need for your kitchen, and I do recommend them.

A few of the pieces that have the kitchenaid logo on silver, have that handle area a bit roughed and looks wierd, but it's not a problem for their use, and it's just a small annoyance. None of the all-plastic pieces have this problem.

A great group of useful items and the price is also great! These are not the "Buy for lifetime" level of kitchen tools, but they are ones that hold up well under heavy abuse with our giant family and an "experimental" kitchen at points.

Be sure to read this whole review because there is a very happy ending!!

First the things I like...the pan is nice and heafty and well balanced. It's made in the USA. It heats evenly and does a great job baking cookies, and other dough items....actually everything I've baked on it. Now my big beef with this product! I wouldn't feel comfortable putting any food DIRECTLY on this pan. Every time you wash it...(and I do follow recommended instructions and wash by hand)...everything turns a muddy gray...the sponge, the rinse water, your hands, everything. It's even hard to wash the gray off your hands after your done. I hate that so just won't let food actually cook on the surface. I'll always use parchment paper. Don't trust all that gray metallic colored residue that comes off in the washing process.

Update Feb 20, 2012: I sent Nordic Ware an e-mail asking if they could explain the reason for all the gray metal color all over everything when I wash this pan. I told them I was very happy to buy a pan made in the USA and the product did perform flawlessly. I was just concerned about all the leaching of whatever it is. Never got a reply.

Update Nov 19, 2012: After almost a year someone commented on my feedback suggesting I try contacting Nordic Ware customer service again. Thank you Bon!! I felt it only fair to try again since so many people love this sheet. Low and behold I received a quick reply. After explaining the situation, they e-mailed a form to fill out and mail in. I just got an e-mail saying they received it, reviewed the information, and they're sending me a new pan because THE GRAYING I'M EXPERIENCING IS NOT NORMAL. I don't know what happened to my original e-mails but based on THIS customer service experience with Nordic, I'd say it was a flawless experience. The service was friendly, quick, and fair. As soon as I receive the new sheet, I'll wash it, use it, wash it one more time and then report back. I suspect it will be a totally different experience this time....the way we do it here IN THE USA!!!!

Update Dec 3, 2012: I have received the replacement half sheet. After washing several times I have no problem with gray residue. I'm convinced the first sheet I received was defective. This one is perfect...just what I expected from Nordic Ware. This is a company no one should ever be concerned about dealing with. They stand behind their products and, not only deliver quality products, but back them with quality customer service. I'm a believer.

Sick of cheapie "cookie sheets" that buckle when you use them and only last a couple of years? Spend a little and get a pro 1/2 sheet pan. It's very sturdy and will probably last a home user a lifetime (heck, they last years in commercial kitchens). Fits in standard home ovens.

Best Deals for Nordic Ware Naturals Sheet Baking Pan

Every single other cookie/baking sheet I've owned has made that dreaded "bong" sound within minutes of being put in an oven hotter than 300 degrees. It's annoying, it makes the food slide around, and it cannot be good for the pan to warp and unwarp like that. So this time I went looking for professional bakeware. I love Nordic Ware; they make quality stuff without charging you an arm and a leg. These work perfectly. They fit well into my standard home oven (plenty of space around it for proper air circulation), they brown my cookies beautifully on the bottom, and the rolled edge seems pretty sturdy. The only negative thing I will say is the gauge could be a little thicker. I'm used to Nordic Ware products being extremely heavy; and while these are certainly heavier than your average cookie sheet, they are not as heavy as I expected. Batch after batch of holiday cooking doesn't lie, however. Everything has come out perfect, so maybe the gauge isn't such a big deal after all.

Just a side note, whenever I cook something on any cookie/baking sheet, I always cover it in parchment or foil. It makes clean up easier, and spares the pans the greasy, ever-darkening coating of oil otherwise needed. I would suggest it personally.

Honest reviews on Nordic Ware Naturals Sheet Baking Pan

I just got two of these and it was love at first sight. They are heavy duty and are very well made.

Here's more detailed size information.

Inside dimension (where the food will go) 11.5" x 8.25"

Outside dimension 13" x 9.75"

unfortunately, it does not fit in my toaster oven.

11/15/11 update still use it and no rust (some cheap aluminum tends to rust. there are large stains from cooking, but i use them all the time. i love them and will get new ones when these go. i wash them in the dishwasher every time. so far, i've probably washed them 30-40 times. still love them.

2/1/13 update still no rust. large dark spots that are somewhat sticky even after they have been in the dishwasher. i use them often. tried to use EasyOff to clean it really well, but does not work as good as i hoped. But i use them for bacon, cooking fish, asparagus, etc.... would buy them again.

I like these pans. I know there are several other models out there, but these are about as cheap as any and are made in Minnesota. The sheets are thick, haven't warped, and are perfectly nice in every way.

By chance, I had borrowed an OXO Goodgrips travel mug from my brother in law, and really liked it--not to mention it was the only travel mug I've ever used which didn't leak or drip whatsoever. I was going to buy one for myself but really wanted something just a little bigger than 12.5 ounces. So, I bought the LiquiSeal Thermal Beverage Container which I believe is approx 24 ounces. It's perfect! The only thing which I noted when I first bought it was the need to "exercise" the button a number of times, as it seemed like it wasn't opening or sealing totally at first, but it's working fine now. A word of caution: As it states in both the packaging and on the bottom label, DO NOT put this thing in the dishwasher. The heat will shrink and harden all the seal and cause it to leak. Great product!!

I got this mug for fathers day 2011 and within a few weeks of use the lid was hideous and had water stuck in it that could not be removed. It would appear that i had gotten the mug with the old single-piece lid even though recent reviews make it seem like the lid was redesigned earlier this year to be a two-piece system that allows for easier cleaning. So i called the company to ask about the situation since it was such a recent purchase and they told me to immediately throw away the lid and that they would send a replacement lid to me. The replacement lid arrived within a few weeks and sure enough it was the new redesigned two-piece system which is much easier to clean. I love this mug but I cannot give it 5 stars because it is not dishawasher safe....

To anyone having issues with your lid, please call OXO because they apparently do care about what you think. (800)545-4411

Had a difficult time finding a travel "mug" with this much capacity (about 24 oz) but this fits the bill perfectly. It doesn't keep the beverage steaming hot as long as a thermos when you are actively drinking from it but it keeps it warm enough for a good couple of hours.

Only issue is you have to be fastidious about cleaning this after beverages such as coffee because the sipping mechanism is complicated and has lots of nooks and crannies where having dried up coffee would not be a good thing.

Honest reviews on OXO Good Grips LiquiSeal Thermal Beverage Container

In general, the vessel is well built.

It just needs a simpler mechanism for allowing fluid flow through the cap so all surfaces are cleanable in the event that it sat for a couple of days and got moldy as did mine. So I don't use the flow-through button cap anymore. But while attempting to thoroughly clean it, I soaked it in dishwater and now, that dishwater has infiltrated the hollows in the cap and does not drain. It does, however, lend a smell of dishwater to my coffee.

I got this to take on my bike (just barely fits in a Topeak Modula Ex) since I was getting tired of having cold coffee halfway through class. It's a great size and the cap and button system work great. Unfortunately that same button system ruins the thermal insulation and greatly decreases the amount of time coffee stays hot. You can feel the rubber section in the middle start to heat up almost as soon as you fill it. It stays hot long enough for my purposes, but I'd go somewhere else if you're looking to have a hot cup of coffee 8 hours after filling it.

I recently bought a ceramic cooktop stove and none of my pans would work well because of the grooves in the bottom. These pans are PERFECT for anyone who has a ceramic/glass cooktop. The bottoms are flat, they cook evenly and cleanup...no matter how greasy/messy...is a breeze!

We purchased a 14 piece Circulon commercial set at Costco about five years ago. A couple of the sauce pans that get used daily are wearing out due to our abuse not the product. We felt it was time to replace the set. We examined many sets online and in the store. We loved our old Circulon set so that was top on our list. Two things that was a must was glass lids and heat proof handles which became our biggest challenge. The lids and handles is what solidified our choice to purchase Circulon a second time. This set is great, we are really happy with the choice. The set looks awesome, the cookware is solid and well balanced. It is thicker than our commercial set and I am sure will last us for many years too come.

The issue that almost killed our purchase is that the set does not include a 3 quart saucepan. The 3 quart saucepan is our most used and abused piece and for this set it is sold separate for $70. We temparararily solved this issue with a Circulon Total 3.5 quart sauce pot on sale for $29.99 at a local dept store and used a lid from our old set to replace the metal lid that came with it. Not a perfect match but solved our problem for now. and we saved $50. As long as Circulon offers heavy duty cookware at a good price with clear lids and heat proof handles we will probably stay loyal to the product.

Prologue: It has been two months with the set and it is awesome. We still have not picked up the 3 quart (Haven't found it on sale for the right price). But we did find the 12" deep skillet with lid for $39.95 & the 11" griddle for $29.95 at a local discount home store. The 12" deep skillet is actually a must (the 10" that comes with the set is just too small for everyday use). The skillet is designed so well that without the lid it is rounded enough inside to be a 12" skillet or wok substitute. So you will want some extra pieces but the set is worth it.

I first purchased the wok, loved it so much, I knew the set would be a worthwhile purchase.

The pots and pans are fantastic !

I have baked, covered and uncovered,at 400 degrees various recipes in these pots, and the food cooks and browns evenly, yet the food never burns or adhears to the surfaces, its absolutely remarkable, and these pans are a joy to clean, yes I said joy. Its so easy, I almost feel guilty.

The lids appear to be dishwasher safe,( I hand wash them) and although well designed for cooking, the channeled rims do require a little more focus durring cleaning.

I have a glass top range, and the bottoms of these pots are perfect and compatable.

I shopped for a better price, not to be found, typical amazon shopping experience... total satisfaction.

Buy these circulon ELITE, the most atractive and functional of the circulon line, culinary gratification guaranteed!

ONE YEAR update: still love my pans, still look and work like new! I do put the lids in the dishwasher. I have NEVER had issues with a pan tipping over, maybe the one reviewer should level his range top?

the current price is a STEAL, great wedding gift, or gift to self if you love cooking, but hate clean-up !

Honest reviews on Circulon Elite Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

The picture of the Circulon Elite set includes the large frying pan with the handle, known as a "chicken fryer". This item is NOT included in the set. Although this is a good set of cookware, I bought it because it included the chicken fryer. I was really disappointed when I opened the box and the covered frying pan was a regular small pan. Now I still have to purchase the other frying pan at an additional cost. It would have been more cost-effective to purchase the set from Circulon's website at a higher price and get their double bonus with the purchase. Per piece it would have been less expensive.

We purchased the Symmetry eleven piece cookware set plus this piece to replace our old mismatched cookware that we have had for years. I can only say that we are not only pleased with the quality of Symmetry but also how well it preforms. The cookware is thick hard anodised aluminum, which is actually harder than steel and conducts heat much better. Thicker means better heat distribution and no "hot spots". The non stick is a three layer coating called Autograph 2, it is one of the newest and best available. It can be cleaned in the dishwasher or simply wiped clean, which is what we do. The coating is tough enough that metal utensils can be used--we still use non scratch as most of ours were used on the older pieces of cookware.

Stir fry is a favorite of ours so this pan gets used a lot. Have found that we do not need the high heat as much as in the older pan, and that because of the thick construction the heat is more even from the bottom and up the sides. I need to also mention that sometimes we use a portable induction burner and all of the Symmetry pieces work fine including the Stir Fry pan.

The glass lid makes this piece useful for a lot more than stir fry--have a small rack that fits in the bottom of the pan that makes it great for steaming. This piece is a wonderful addition to the set and one that gets used a lot in our kitchen.

Just an afterthought: Fried eggs in the eight inch pan, no oil, no spray etc. they slid out onto the plate with no help--the best non-stick ever!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a good pan, that would be rated higher, except that I've had a few anolon pans around the same price range, and those are better quality pans. Explanations below:

Pros:

Ample room for family cooking (4 6 people)

Rubber handle stays cool to touch

Comes with a lid to help keep heat in and cook faster

Good quality and solid feel.

Looks good

Neutral:

Lighter than my Anolon professional pans. (can be good or bad depending on your preference. I like the heavier ones myself)

Cons:

Teflon coating has a texture circular lines / indentations. I'm doubt the usefulness of them, but despite the nonstick coating, it takes more effort to clean the food on this, specially if you cook sticky stirr frys or you burn your food a little at the bottom. My other smooth teflon pans clean out very easily, the little pattern on this one makes it harder.

Does not have the same quality construction of Anolon series pans. (not just weight, but finishing, glass quality of the lid, the handle, etc).

Overall I give this pan 3.5 stars. If I hadn't used the anolon professional series before, I'd probably give this pan 4 4.5 stars. But given that there are better ones at the same price range, it loses a star.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This stainless steel bottom pan will work on any kind of stove top including induction and work well it does. Food heats nice and evenly when I use this on my induction stove. The pan's non-stick interior has a fine durable quality and cleans up easily. I've only had this pan a little while, but I'm expecting to get many years of good use out of it along with the other similarly manufactured Circulon pans I own. The size of the pan is conveniently large enough for preparing a variety of different sized meals without being too large to be convenient to use or clean up afterwards. The shape makes it good for saute, stir fry, simmering and general frying. The lid is nice and sturdy as well and fits snugly. This is an excellent product.

Honest reviews on Circulon Symmetry Hard Anodized Nonstick 12" Covered Essentials Pan

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program PROS

-Hard-anodized (heavy gauge, impact bonded) aluminum, which means the pan heats quickly and evenly

-Can use on any cooktop, including induction

-Oven safe to 400 degrees, which we use in melting cheese and finishing omelettes

-Circulon durability is legendary, and that includes the Symmetry line

-The Symmetry series has a gentle flaring and stylish handles, and they are as attractive as you can get if you want something that looks handsome (form AND function)

-Stainless + silicone handles feel very comfortable and the silicone sufficiently protects hands from the heat

-They say the raised circles on the inside of the pan reduce surface abrasion and you can really notice it when cooking pancakes and eggs and using your spatula

-Safe with metal utensils

-Tempered glass lids

-A joy to clean with non-stick surface inside and out (DuPont Autograph 3-layer nonstick) in my house the person who didn't make dinner washes the dishes, and since my husband is such a good cook, I'm usually the pot cleaner. I don't even mind when he's using our Symmetry set.

-This Stir Fry pan is a nice addition to our set (my husband makes a lot of stir frys and I love not having to clean stuck-on tofu) and it does so much more. It especially caramelizes onions beautifically.

CONS

I just have nothing bad to say about the Symmetry set! We're very serious about our cookware and love our Symmetry set.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program You can't expect the world from this product, but you can enjoy a great deal. It is lightweight, balanced and sturdy. Although labelled a stir-fry pan, it is much more versatile than that. Because of the secure, flat bottom, it is ideal for omelets, pasta sauces, frozen-dinners-in-a-bag and more. My husband turned an egg over with a flip of his wrist. Please note the sides are quite curved, so you probably won't be browning pork chops in it, but you can do practically everything else. The ergonomic design of the handle, tight fitting see-through lid and oven compatibility are plusses.

Do read the directions. It isn't meant to be used with non-stick spray. If you want to use oil, you should apply it with a paper towel. This is, after all, a non-stick pan. Use moderate to low cooking temperatures or you may warp it. Instead of scrubbing and scratching it to clean, the instructions say to boil a mixture of vinegar and water. Finishing a frittata or omlet in the oven is great, but again, you may warp it if you put it under the broiler.

As with all products, carefully following directions is the key to optimum usage. This is a well-designed, versatile pan that I am happy to add to my kitchen. My one quibble with it is that it is called a stir fry pan, but shouldn't be used at high heat as most stir fry dishes call for.

I had to make cupcakes the minute I got this as a wedding gift thank you Amazon wedding registry!

I walked into a BBQ with it and people were in awe and couldn't wait to dig into the cupcakes. It was a very hot day, so I took the bottom layer and filled it with water and put it in the freezer by the time I was ready to go, I put the ice cube layer on the bottom and the top two tiers with my 24 cupcakes and the cupcakes stayed fresh and did not melt at the BBQ!!

The only "warning" I have is to make sure you have the base the right way up don't spend an hour thinking your cc carrier is broken, just flip the base the right way up (ha ha yes I am an idiot!!)

I don't make cupcakes a lot, but I saw this and wanted it immediately. I'll even make cupcakes to justify the purchase.

I had to take a bunch of cupcakes to school and was able to use this. The courier itself is big and bulky. If you have limited space you may want something different.

The cupcake holder is deep, I find it is a bit too deep if your cupcakes don't rise a lot and you have frosting all over it -you'll get a bit of frosting on your hands trying to get it out of the holder.

The holder is also pretty heavy for me so if you have to travel via walking, it may be too heavy and I found the handle not that comfortable. Short trips should be fine.

Overall, I really like this carrier and it received a ton of compliments from people. The removable trays are great for people like me who don't make a lot of cupcakes, but is great to carry cookies, cakes, pies, brownies, etc...Tall cakes are also possible due to the height. I would recommend this product for those who have the space and have to bring baked goods to different places.

Best Deals for Cupcake Courier 36-Cupcake Plastic Storage Container

This is a great cupcake carrier with good room for standard sized cupcakes even with lots of frosting or some decorations. I had read a previous review with concerns over losing the clips that hold it together but they seem to have changed that as my clips don't come off, they are attatched. It is very secure and I wasn't worried about dropping them or anything. Very pleased with this product!

Honest reviews on Cupcake Courier 36-Cupcake Plastic Storage Container

I bought this over a year ago at Bed Bath & Beyond. It is the greatest carrier. The cupcake cavities are deep so the cupcakes do not move around when you move about. The tiers are nicely spaced so decorated cupcakes do not touch the bottom of the tier above it. The tiers can be removed and a regular tired cake can be placed inside and covered. The only fault I can find is with the clips that keep the cover down. Once attached, they perform well, but they can be removed and lost quite easily.

The cupcake courier is so wonderful! Very functionable, sturdy, and cute! I love that you can remove the trays and are able to

about it flying open and everything getting damaged. I highly recommend this product particularly for moms who provide cupcakes to a lot of school functions, it's a dream!!

I do love the All-Clad brand of cookware. Before acquiring this saute pan, I had only two items: a roasting pan, which is ideal, and a very small lidded pot, something I have had for at least 20 years. All of my cookware had started out as Caphalon, which I still like except for the discolored interiors.

The new saute pan cooks beautifully. I have to get used to it as it replaces a multi-purpose non-stick pan I had been using for years (well beyond when I should have). It takes much more oil/butter to prevent sticking. And I am not accustomed to that.

The only problem with this line of cookware is the handles. They are really not cook-friendly. Try holding the pan with one hand and trying to empty the contents with the other. The pan wants to roll over. You really have to make an effort and get used to it. Can't imagine why All-Clad does not redesign the handles. It is OK on the tiny pan I have. Same design, but since it is much shorter, it is very manageable.

If you can stand the handle, I highly recommend the pan. It was a bargain as well!

I am a huge fan of all things All-Clad. I have the 6 quart version of this pan as well, but it it frequently too big, and as a result I don't use it very much. This 3 quart size is perfect. I am generally cooking for two people, and everything just fits perfectly.

I love almost everything about this pan I bought it for the stratight sides and its generous size. I've used it multiple times in the short time I've had it and expect to use it a lot more. The only thing I don't like about it is the handle with its concave section. That's hard on my hands. the additional handle on the opposite side does help but I end up using a pot holder even when the pan is cold. i'm looking for a handle cover for it.That said, it is wonderful to cook with. Things heat fast over medium heat which saves energy and it holds heat well. It's also a breeze to clean up. Even if there is something stubborn to get off, a little Bartenders Friend does the trick

It seems like a design flaw but the water will boil out of the pot between the walls of the pot and this colander. You can't boil items with this in the pot without making a large mess. The best way to use it is pour items into the colander to drain after you are done cooking them.
