Discount Japanese Plastic Chopsticks Container Box Case #1815
This container box is great, it really does hold 100 chopsticks. I bought it so that I could organize my disposable chopsticks for both easy access when needed and for easy storage. If you buy one though, I would recommend that you wash it first before using it.I Love how this container can be stacked and the disposable chopsticks fits perfectly. No more Ziploc bags to store them.

Best Woll Nowo Titanium 11-Inch Fry Pan with Detachable Handle Deals

I've used a lot of non-stick pans over the years, and sooner or later they've eventually started sticking or flaking off Teflon coatings. Generally I'd gotten cheaper pans and put up with the flaking into my food.
I researched pans a bunch on Amazon back in 2009, and decided to swing for some higher-end cookware, hoping that it meant durability would be better. After about two years of use, our All-Clad Master Chef 2 Nonstick 10-Inch Fry Pan started flaking on the top edge despite being fanatically careful about making sure it didn't get too hot, not using metal utensils anywhere near it, using any sort of abrasive pad washing it, or even washing it before the pan had cooled down. This correlated with the reviews I'd read, and the replacement process sounded like I'd be out of a pan for weeks, plus I wanted to get away from PFOE coatings.
We next bought a Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 10-1/4-Inch Skillet with Iron Handle, Red, which became our go-to pan, but despite all of the reviews swearing they were great for eggs, I've generally had to make an intended omelet into scrambled eggs because of sticking (even if I used a generous portion of butter or olive oil).
I started searching for PFOE-free pans after once again making a scramble, and stumbled across the Woll Nowo. The thing is bombproof. Titanium is awesome. Metal utensils is no biggie. It's a little slow to heat but like the Le Creuset, once it gets going it retains heat incredibly well. The pan cooks more evenly than the All-Clad. The detachable handle comes off easily, and can be put back on easily. I've cooked frittatas with it on the stovetop and then finished it in the oven, and it's all an easy motion. Be a little careful as the base of the handle can get pretty toasty after cooking for awhile.
Eggs never, ever stick. You can use less oil/butter/you name it, as nothing I've cooked in the last 2 months has managed to stick to it. Stuff I thought of as tricky is now cake. Omelets are a snap. This last weekend I made crepes in them, never needed butter or oil to coat the pan.
And given that the pan right now is almost $20 cheaper than the All-Clad, I feel silly for having put out more for something less durable.
There really isn't much to say. Except for the price, there is NOTHING bad about this frying pan. I liked it so much I went and bought the saute pan with lid.
I like it even more than that paper towel holder with rubber grips on the bottom so you can one hand tear it properly every time. And I _really_ like that thing.
Great product

It is a great product, doctors told us to cut the oil consumption and this product exactly does that you can still keep your food delicious by using the fraction of oil recommended in a recipe, can cook multiple times without worrying to clean each time after cooking, heavy bottom so food does not burn.Great product
Honest reviews on Woll Nowo Titanium 11-Inch Fry Pan with Detachable Handle
If you can fry an egg in a skillet without anything no oil, no butter and not having to "season" the skillet then you have a great skillet and that is what I have with this skillet. I got it and washed it and fried and egg because that is the best test to see if the skillet is what they claim it to be and it is. Go and buy this now! It seems expensive but consider this will be the last skillet you will buy ever. The handle comes off with the push of a button which is handy for cooking in the oven and storage. Buy tis now!!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Woll Nowo Titanium 11-Inch Fry Pan with Detachable Handle
I love fried food, and I have tried from good old cast iron to Le Creuset cast iron and many in between. This pan is by far, the best pan I have ever owned in terms of easy cleaning, not burning, non sticking. Get a good cover, and you got extremely versatile cooking tool. I just cooked sweet potato for some evening snack with a little bit of water. This pan cooks vegetables better than steamer.Friday, October 24, 2014
Best Miallegro 6007 MiArepa Maker Deals
After having made arepas by hand for over 40 years, and refusing to use any machines, I have to admit I was wrong. My family gave me the Miallegro Arepa maker for Christmas, and as soon as I used it, I decided I will not make them by hand any more!
I plugged it in and proceeded to heat the Arepa Maker as indicated. Meanwhile, I mixed the arepa meal as usual and filled every space and closed it to heat up. My whole family was observing the cooking time (I set it to 15 minutes) in anticipation. Taking out the arepas once they were cooked was easy and hassle-free.
Surprise, surprise: The exterior was cooked to perfection, nice and crunchy, and the meal inside was totally cooked, also to perfection. Big applause, everyone took an arepa and filled it with grated gouda cheese. You should have been there to hear all the Uhhhmmms and Ahhhs!
Did 2 more batches (family of 6 hungry men) and the results were always the same. I have since been using this Arepa maker twice or more a week, and I am very satisfied with the end result.
Perhaps the only issues that could make this Arepa maker better are: 1. Make the Round time setter more rugged, for better grip. 2. Put a bell so that it rings when it's done!
Our sons plan to buy the Miallegro Arepa maker, to use it in college. They love it! I love it!

The shape of the arepas in this thing is great, nice and thin, and it cooks fast too. There are only 3 cavities that I would consider to be "regular size" arepas (same size as other 4 cavity units), the other 4 cavities are considerably smaller (maybe 65% the size of a regular arepa). The good part is the heating system, from a cold start, I had 4 arepas ready in approx 10mins, its got plenty of heating power, also the arepa molds are a nice shape, very flat on top and bottom, not dome shaped like other units. There are a few flaws with this unit that I think are deal breakers though. The main one is the latch, it is made like junk. On an arepa maker, the latch is very important, as it keeps the plates in tight contact with the arepa so it cooks quickly and evenly. The first time we used the unit, once it started heating up and the arepas started to expand a little bit, the pressure broke the latch retainer, which is a thin piece of very brittle plastic that is designed for high temperature (but cracks like it is made of glass). The other weak point is the blue knob on top, its really a mechanical timer that turns the heating on and off. Very sloppy and low quality. Overall this thing is built like &*#@. The unfortunate thing is that most of the better made units (ie Oster 6 cavity, Bene Casa 6 cavity, etc) are really unavailable at the moment (no one has stock and doesn't know if/when they will ever get more), so this thing is pretty much one of the best large unit currently available (I've heard the IMUSA has issues where it does not cook fully, the Brentwood is not as good as the oster), and there are not many other choices which is really sad because I could not honestly recommend this unit.Best Deals for Miallegro 6007 MiArepa Maker
My daughter in law is from Venezuela and she makes us arepa's when we visit. We love them. I was making them on a griddle but it takes really long. I ordered this arepa maker and it is great. It cooks them faster and works perfect. I love it. This seller was super to order from. Can't say enough about them and the arepa maker. Order yourself one. I ordered through Amazon.Honest reviews on Miallegro 6007 MiArepa Maker
This product is cheaply made. It makes nice thin arepas but I used it maybe 7 times only and the knob broke. It smells terrible when its heating, releasing what smells like toxic fumes. The saying "You get what you pay for" well describes what you get when you buy a Miarepa. I do not recommend buying this. It went to the garbage bin.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Miallegro 6007 MiArepa Maker
My family love the new arepa maker. I got a little bad critic from the other arepa cookers for not making them the old fashioned way but my kids can easily make them and is quick and ready to eat. It is also easy to clean! I'd recommend the Arepa maker to anyone who loves Arepas and it makes a great gift for the holidays!Thursday, October 2, 2014

I've heard a lot of people complain about rusting with these. You have to care for them properly to avoid that. Properly seasoned cast iron is very nearly indestructible if maintained. When you get it, wast it out, let it dry completely, then wet a cloth in vegetable oil, and wipe on a thin coat inside and out. Bake it at 400 degrees for half an hour. IGNORE THE SMOKE. IT'S FINE! it will smoke a LOT though. Open a window for ventilation. After the half hour bake time, let it cool, then repeat the oiling and baking two more times. When you are done, it's properly seasoned. Redo it two or three times a year. We use ours over the open fire when we are camping. It's awesome to have hot water for tea, cocoa, and even dish washing.
BTW, that seasoning method keeps your cast iron skillets in prime shape too. If any cast iron cookware gets crusty and you cant scrub it clean, put them in an electric oven, and turn on the self-clean feature. When it cools down, wire brush the crud off, and follow the seasoning instructions above, :-)

This is a good heavy tea kettle. I got it to sit on the woodburning stove to evaporate water into the air. My old one finally rusted through after many years, and this seems like it will be a good replacement for it.Best Deals for Vogelzang TK-02 Tea Kettle, 3-Quart
I actually intended to use the pot to heat water for tea and once I got it the box says not for consumable water, for humidifying only. I BOUGHT TWO OF THEM! I really looked at details to get a real tea kettle.Honest reviews on Vogelzang TK-02 Tea Kettle, 3-Quart
I bought this steamer because it seemed to be the best price/capacity ratio in the category. However, 3 QT volume is not true. The kettle is much smaller and doesn't hold 3QTs even when filled to the brim. Moreover, when full it actually leaks the water from under the lid when the water starts boiling. Thus, to be usable you have to fill it with no more than 2 QTs. It is a shame because I specifically needed a larger capacity steamer to avoid filling it up many times during the day (I keep my woodstove running most of the time). This is also not an error in the on-line product description, but the misrepresentation directly from manufacturer (it says 3 Qts on the box). Otherwise, the kettle is pretty basic and has greyish/greenish hue (another minor disappointment my wood stove appears comparatively darker). I, guess, after all twenty-something bucks just doesn't buy enough iron to make a true 3 Qt kettle...Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Vogelzang TK-02 Tea Kettle, 3-Quart
This product was shipped with the lid broken off and an actual break in one side of the kettle where the base meets the upper part. That might be excusable,.... except that it seems pretty clear that the seller knew it was damaged! The kettle itself was thrown upside down in its' box, which had clearly been previously torn open and was held together with a lot (a lot!) of shipping tape. Note the upside down part because the broken-off lid was sitting loose on top of the upturned base. Can't think of any way that that could have occurred during shipping. I was going to try to use it anyway, figured that it would probably work okay with the lid just sitting on it so I put water in it and put it on my wood stove where it promptly leaked a whole lot of water!! Pretty stinking shoddy! The kind of seller that would ship an item in this condition should not be on amazon.Monday, September 29, 2014

I recently bought a ceramic cooktop stove and none of my pans would work well because of the grooves in the bottom. These pans are PERFECT for anyone who has a ceramic/glass cooktop. The bottoms are flat, they cook evenly and cleanup...no matter how greasy/messy...is a breeze!
The issue that almost killed our purchase is that the set does not include a 3 quart saucepan. The 3 quart saucepan is our most used and abused piece and for this set it is sold separate for $70. We temparararily solved this issue with a Circulon Total 3.5 quart sauce pot on sale for $29.99 at a local dept store and used a lid from our old set to replace the metal lid that came with it. Not a perfect match but solved our problem for now. and we saved $50. As long as Circulon offers heavy duty cookware at a good price with clear lids and heat proof handles we will probably stay loyal to the product.
Prologue: It has been two months with the set and it is awesome. We still have not picked up the 3 quart (Haven't found it on sale for the right price). But we did find the 12" deep skillet with lid for $39.95 & the 11" griddle for $29.95 at a local discount home store. The 12" deep skillet is actually a must (the 10" that comes with the set is just too small for everyday use). The skillet is designed so well that without the lid it is rounded enough inside to be a 12" skillet or wok substitute. So you will want some extra pieces but the set is worth it.
The pots and pans are fantastic !
I have baked, covered and uncovered,at 400 degrees various recipes in these pots, and the food cooks and browns evenly, yet the food never burns or adhears to the surfaces, its absolutely remarkable, and these pans are a joy to clean, yes I said joy. Its so easy, I almost feel guilty.
The lids appear to be dishwasher safe,( I hand wash them) and although well designed for cooking, the channeled rims do require a little more focus durring cleaning.
I have a glass top range, and the bottoms of these pots are perfect and compatable.
I shopped for a better price, not to be found, typical amazon shopping experience... total satisfaction.

ONE YEAR update: still love my pans, still look and work like new! I do put the lids in the dishwasher. I have NEVER had issues with a pan tipping over, maybe the one reviewer should level his range top?

We purchased a 14 piece Circulon commercial set at Costco about five years ago. A couple of the sauce pans that get used daily are wearing out due to our abuse not the product. We felt it was time to replace the set. We examined many sets online and in the store. We loved our old Circulon set so that was top on our list. Two things that was a must was glass lids and heat proof handles which became our biggest challenge. The lids and handles is what solidified our choice to purchase Circulon a second time. This set is great, we are really happy with the choice. The set looks awesome, the cookware is solid and well balanced. It is thicker than our commercial set and I am sure will last us for many years too come. The issue that almost killed our purchase is that the set does not include a 3 quart saucepan. Honest reviews on Circulon Elite Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set
The picture of the Circulon Elite set includes the large frying pan with the handle, known as a "chicken fryer". This item is NOT included in the set. Although this is a good set of cookware, I bought it because it included the chicken fryer. I was really disappointed when I opened the box and the covered frying pan was a regular small pan. Now I still have to purchase the other frying pan at an additional cost. It would have been more cost-effective to purchase the set from Circulon's website at a higher price and get their double bonus with the purchase. Per piece it would have been less expensive.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Circulon Elite Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

I bought this at the WMF store outlet in Germany. Was not the exact same configuration and hard to remember the price, but I think this price point is cheaper to the Germany, Euro denominated ones. Anyway, this is Gorgeous!!!! Simply a piece of design art and cooking function of the highest quality possible without going more crazy on price. The fact you can see the cooking process, the red silicone, the different levels of steam release... is just amazing. The only "drawback" is that the close section does not seal completely, but I guess it is not a pressure cooker. Scary price, but if you want something that will last forever and looks cool... go for it...

Just LOVE these things. Work on the road, so I'd normally buy one for cooking in motels from Calgary to New Iberia. Then give it away at the job's end. Now that the handle's more stable and heat resistant it's just about perfect. The plasma-embedded titanium ceramic means you'll still need some oil. But has none of the shortcomings of PTFE. You can find the same with slate-coated pure aluminum skillets for less at TJ or Marshall's, but here it's Scanpan's design features that seem superior. Don't even think about the price. I've had one for 18 years and you can see a few scratches in but not through the coating.
Just beautiful quality.
The only minus point is the lack of lid which would come very handy.
Well, I was wrong, and I didn't know I was wrong until I accidentally browse the company's website and read its FAQ. In their FAQ, it says: "The ceramic-titanium particles become one with the pan at that point. A subsequent application of a specially formulated PTFE provides the nonstick effect." PTFE is the problematic element of Teflon. Well, I wish the company discloses this information somewhere on the product!
So I think I've learned two things: always buy from Amazon, and there is no such thing as a durable non-stick pan.

I bought this pan thinking that I am buying a non-stick pan without Teflon. While the health issue became questionable concerning Teflon, I am willing to pay extra to be safe, and at the same time still enjoying the non-stick feature. I purchased it, and a smaller frypan from a local store (what a waste, Amazon's price is less than HALF the local price!). All was well for about 5 months, then the center bottom started to roughen and stick. It got worse as the months went by. A close examination last month showed little fragments had broken off (we ate them!) and the entire center surface was rough. Since I had paid so much ($179 for the wok) I was VERY careful to use only bamboo and plastic implements....never a metal implement...never. I followed warranty directions exactly, but DID occasionally use it as a wok and used higher, but not smoking hot, temperatures. Still....it ended up looking much like the $39 non-stick wok I had purchased from a restaurant supply house two years ago. The smaller frying pan still looks good. Very disappointing. So I think I've learned two things: always buy from Amazon, and there is no such thing as a durable non-stick pan.

We had been going through 1 or 2 non-stick pans a year. We finally got tired of people working for us scratching them with metalic utensils. So, now we use this one ourselves and use a regular heavy duty stainless still (not not-stick) for nannies/family/baby sitters to use. We have been pretty careful with it and don't use it at high temperature and hand wash with a sponge. It's lasted pretty nicely with some minor cosmetic blemishes but is still fully non-stick. Have not bought a new pan now in 2-3 years. Problem solved. I just wish the different sizes were just as affordable.Monday, June 30, 2014

Did my homework and decided on a cookware set that did not have a frying pan. No frying pan. no problem. Why? I thought that the 2 inserts that came with the sets; that fit the pots perfectly was a more valuable trade-off, when I could get the frying pan separately. (I added the Duxtop 12 inch with lid, so I could fry 2 whole fishes at the same time.)
I loved the two-toned finish on the outside. (This was after liking the cuisinart set that had this feature)
Loved the measuring marks on the inside.
I loved the fact that the lids all had 3 tiny steamholes in them.
Loved the price for 12 pieces.
Loved the fact that ALL the pans had curves edges for drip-free pouring
Loved having the set with both a 1 quart and a 8 quart. (Each pot is twice the size of the one before...1, 2, 4, 8)
Loved the shape of the handles. (The handles are simple but I love the high curve. It looks "Frenchy".)
Currently love the weight/feel of the pieces.
Cons:
No frying pan.
Amazon should put more pics to showcase the features of the set.
Starfrit does not have a frying pan sold separately that coordinates with this set. If they did, I would have purchased it, instead of another brand.
So far I have used the 1, 2, 4, quarts saucepans and the 3 quart sautepan. No need to use the barkeepers friend as yet. Had to use the water/vinegar combo to deal with white spots left after washing. I have used stainless pans before (not tri-ply) so I know what a stainless steel pan looks like after years of use. I bought this set without an amazon review. Went to a Canadian website for that. Very pleased with the purchase. Wish more users would review this item. I compared duxtop/american kitchen/cooks standard & cuisinart sets before I decided. Only looked at multi-ply sets, since I did not want any with the disc on the bottom. I called this set the sleeper set, because I think I found a hidden gem among the tri-ply sets. Cat Cora did too, but having her name on the set simply makes it cost more. The quality is still the same.
Will add more if anything changes after using for a longer time. Thanks for reading.
Lids fit well, handles are solid.
Well crafted.
Recommend to any serious home cook, will not be disapointed.

I'm not a gourmet cook. I'm a single male construction worker that likes to cook for my ladyfriends, and also want my kitchen and appliances/cookware to look nice. Not only does this set look great, but it really cooks quite nicely. Good, even heat distribution, and easy cleaning. Much heavier than any of the other stainless tri-ply that I looked at . I have several nice cuisinart pots but I like these better. I am very pleased with both Amazon and Heritage (stamped on the bottom of the pans). When I bought these, there was only one review and it helped significantly. I have had these for about three months now and have had no problems of any kind. I have recommended them to friends.Best Deals for Starfrit Dolce Vita 12 Piece Stainless Steel Tri Ply Cookware Set

Seems pricey but you'll quickly forget about the $. It's the very best coffee accessory I've ever purchased. The filter part of the french press is perfect. Makes a suction sound as you press it down because the fit is so precise. Virtually no coffee grounds make their way into your cup. And why didn't someone think before of making an insulated french press? In use every day at our house.
The other thing to be aware of is that when these coffee pots are rated for 10-12 cups that they are something less. The cups they are talking about are four ounce cups. These coffee pots make 4 regular cups of coffee and no more. PS: This is a good way to cut your coffee shop bill.
I have noticed that a number of reviewers have mentioned that the coffee doesn't remain as hot as they would like. Here's how I get around that problem.
First of all, I don't think any french press design is really suited to keeping coffee hot for a long time. If you want that then perhaps you should stay with a Mr. Coffee or a percolator.
That being said, I do like to have my coffee hot for up to an hour each morning. I purchased the 8-cup Bodum and it produces just enough coffee for my wife and I to have a large mug of coffee, with enough left over for a warmup for each of us. If we're wanting more coffee after this, then we simply brew a 2nd pot. It's so easy to use the Bodum that it's not a bother to brew a 2nd pot on these days. So, we're not trying to keep hot coffee for a couple of hours in the morning. No french press can do that well.
When I want to make coffee in the morning, the first thing I do is fill the Bodum pot with hot tap water to warm it up a bit. Then I begin heating the water that will be used on the freshly ground coffee beans. When the water is ready for pouring over the grounds I empty the warm tap water, place my freshly ground coffee in the Bodum pot, then pour the near-boiling water over the grounds and let it set for 4 minutes.
One feature of the Bodum that is REALLY nice is that its press screen is very fine. Most french presses require that you use course grounds and they will not work very well with anything else (grounds that are too fine will slip past the press-screen and be in your coffee cup). But, coffee tastes better if you can use a finer ground coffee (not the course stuff). It's a dilemma with other french presses, but NOT with the Bodum. The Bodum has a super-fine screen that allows you to use the finer ground coffee grinds. I would recommend that you use a high quality bean grinder though, so that the grounds are a CONSISTENT grind size (burr grinder and not a blade design) then you can use finer grinds with the Bodum than with other french presses.
Incidently, I've found a great burr grinder for grinding coffee for the Bodum Press. I bought a Capresso 565.03 Infinity Burr Grinder and use the "fine" setting for my Bodum. The result is that I get the most from my beans used in the Bodum.
Anyway, I'm sure grateful that I purchased the Bodum. It's a great way to enjoy coffee.
As a french press, the pot works great. Nothing earth shattering, it works and it's easy to clean. In other words, it works no better and no worse than a $20 french press.
The problem is the vacuum thermos feature, which is the reason this thing is so expensive. It does not keep the coffee hot very long at all. Yes, yes, I always preheat it with nice, hot 190 degree water. I add the coffee, turn the lid so that the little plastic cover is over the pour spout to prevent heat loss, and then....it's cold in about 45 minutes. Now granted, this pot does retain heat a LITTLE longer than a regular glass french press, but its insulation qualities are nowhere near as good as my vacuum thermos or my travel mug, which is also vacuum thermos-y.
I think the biggest source of heat loss is in the lid. The lid has no insulation properties at all. It's just a thin piece of metal over a think piece of plastic. So it basically defeats the purpose of the rest of the pot. The laws of thermodynamics dictate (here's the only time in the past 10 years that I get to use my engineering degree) that heat energy will seek to equalize with its environment as easily as possible. In this case, the heat finds a get out of jail free card in the lid.
So, in conclusion, if you are hoping that this french press will keep your coffee warm for a couple of hours, you will be greatly disappointed. My suggestion, buy a $20 french press and knit yourself a nice sweater to go around it. Something tasteful and not too itchy.
That was then, but the Columbia is now. My favorite feature in this new design is the one-piece filter. Yes, ONE PIECE! No more unscrewing the three layers for washing. This improvement was obviously needed and I wish they had done it much sooner.
Regarding the stainless steel construction, it is useful for keeping the water hot during the 4-minute brewing time, but don't think of it as a carafe that you can just leave the coffee in. If you do, it will keep extracting the coffee from the grounds and you'll wind up with an over-extracted, bitter brew. For me, the real advantage of the stainless steel is that I'm not going to break it. The traditional Bodum borosilicate glass is very easy to break.
And so, I highly recommend the Bodum Columbia press pot. And if Bodum ever creates a one-piece filter for their glass French presses (like the one SwissGold used to make), that will be another great Bodum achievement.
Enjoy the Columbia!

French Press coffee has one downside, if you do not serve the whole pot when it is first made then it tends to be coolish. This pot can be a help. It is not perfect but it keeps the coffee warm-hot for awhile. I fill it full of hot tap water before I make the coffee in it and then the coffee stays warm longer. I've used this press daily for a number of years now. It is a great way to make the absolute best coffee every morning. I am convinced that there is no better way to make the best coffee. My wife and I also take it with us when we travel, so that we can continue to have our great coffee in the morning while we are traveling. After all these years and countless travel trips, it's a bit dented and banged up, but it still makes great coffee every morning.I have noticed that a number of reviewers have mentioned that the coffee doesn't remain as hot as they would like. Yeah, like many coffee enthusiasts, I thought this thing would be the Shangri-La of french presses -a french press that keeps the coffee hot for hours. I've been using the 8-cup Columbia French Press since it was introduced. I prefer French Press coffee to the other brewing methods but one thing kept me from using my traditional glass Bodum press pot, and that was the multi-piece filter. That filter never failed to trap coffee grounds in between the layers and I was constantly taking it apart for cleaning, and in no time at all the mesh screen started to fray around the edges. That was then, but the Columbia is now. My favorite feature in this new design is the one-piece filter. Yes, ONE PIECE! No more unscrewing the three layers for washing. The item does its job, but I've found that thicker stockings do not fit in the small compartments...they are rather shallow and look like they're only meant to hold pantyhose-like stockings. The back of the item has larger pockets, though. Overall, good design...compact and fits nicely in closet, but would probably not buy again or recommend.Best Deals for Household Essentials Hanging Clear Vinyl 12-Pocket Stocking
