I purchased the Rachael Ray 10-Piece Porcelain Enamel Coodware Set in Blue at the end of December 2007. The handles are securely attached. The pans are just the right weight....not too heavy and not too light. The stay cool handles are terrific. The non-stick surface is awesome...the food slides right off. The see-through lids are great so you can keep an eye on whats cooking. It has the look and feel of expensive cookware but is very reasonably priced. The only thing that I didnt know before I purchased this item was that it is not recomended to cook on high with a glass top stove. I guess the enamel can fuse to the cook top. I have a glass top stove and at first I was concerned. I cook with this cookware set on Medium High instead of high. I have not had a problem at all. In fact, I used to burn meals in my old cookware but now that I dont use high heat to cook with I have not burned a single meal! If you are looking for great cookware with outstanding quality then I highly recomend the Rachael Ray 10-Piece Porcelain Enamel Cookware Set.

******And just to add a note to my original review back in Februay 2008.......I have now owned this set for a little over 2 yrs (its now 2010) and it is still just as great as it was when I first purchased it. I am very careful that I dont use metal utensils with this set. I only use wooden or nylon (plastic) utensils which I think contributes to the long life of any non stick cookwear set.******

######And yet another update.....It has now been 4 yrs since I first purchased this cookware (its now 2012) and it is still like brand new!!! ###########

I was really excited to buy these, loved the color and loved the silicone handles. Unfortunately I have discovered the porcelain enamel rubs right off, even with just plain old water.

I noticed the first week I bought the set that the most of the pans already had minor smudges exposing the metal of the pan under the green paint. Then one day I was toweling off a pan I HAND WASHED and noticed the green enamel rubbed off all over the towel. I simply washed the pans with warm soapy water, nothing harsh.

I am extremely dissappointed with the quality of these pans. It is a great design but they are evidently made with very cheap workmanship.

I have the blue set. This cookware is very affordable for what you get and so nice to use. I love the rubber handles that are angled upward and the see-through lids. My only complaint is that this set is not dishwasher safe. If you run these through the dishwasher, the color will fade. I have not done this because the paperwork included said not to do so, but I have heard complaints of the color fading after cleaning in a dishwasher. This is an excellent beginner cookware set!

Honest reviews on Rachael Ray 10-Piece Porcelain Enamel Cookware Set

I got the green set about a month ago and have experienced NONE of the negative issues others have mentioned.

I use these to cook all of my meals, and am not particularly careful about them... they're pots and pans after all.

I've had no trouble with the color scratching or rubbing off or turning black on the bottom as others have mentioned. They are still in nearly perfect condition. The enamel is just a bit scuffed on the bottom edges of the pan where it rubs up against the grates over my burners, but it's not even noticeable and I expected that. In fact I expected some discoloration from the heat and flames but there's NONE.

My lids fit great and nothing was warped or bent.

The nonstick coating is PHENOMENAL. I typically leave my pots and pans overnight and wash them in the morning or on my lunch, and even the most notorious meals for sticking on like glue and needing a serious soak wipe right off with just a tiny bit of soap and hot water. I've had no scratches or chips of any kind from the nonstick coating.

I know one person complained that they stained the inside of their dishwasher, but it says right in the description, on the box, and in the pamphlet that comes with them that they are not dishwasher safe... so I don't put them in there!

I've used the saute pan and sauce pot in the oven with excellent results and no damage of any kind to either.

I recommend that anyone who DOES have some issues take advantage of the lifetime guarantee! There're bound to be a few mistakes and duds with these as with any mass produced product. No one to blame but yourself if you don't ask for a replacement!

I bought this set just three months ago and I am so dissapointed to find scratches on two pieces already. Other cheaper brands last me longer than this. I found scratches on the smallest pot which I used mostly to boil water! I never used metal utensils when cooking so I really dont understand why scratches appear so fast and so easy. And it became even worse when scratches did not stay as scratches at all; they allowed a big piece of the top layer to come off. Now one piece is junk. I purchased this set because it looked beautiful and because it relates to the famous cook. Now I better search for a real quality product other than basing my purchase on just the look and the name.

This is a well-made knife. I expect no less from Wüsthof, and I'm pretty sure the build quality isn't your primary reason for reading a review. What you want to know is: how is it to use?

For comparison, I'll bring in my Shun santoku and Victorinox Forschner Fibrox chef's knife. The chai dao weighs just about the same as the santoku, and more than the Victorinox (everything weighs more than the Victorinox--but that's not a complaint). The balance at the bolster is excellent. The blade is just a shade thinner than that of the santoku, and wider than that of the chef's knife.

For dicing an onion or other softer vegetables, all three knives do a great job, and choosing one of them is a matter of whichever you find more comfortable to hold. I give the chai dao an edge on this (okay, pun intended) because I find the santoku a little uncomfortable to hold at the bolster, and the Victorinox definitely wants to be held by the handle. For dicing carrots, the Victorinox doesn't work as well as the other two because it's lighter, and the heft of the santoku and chai dao knives helps one get through the carrot.

For slicing chicken breast for stir-fry (or whatever you're making), the chai dao shines. When I slice meats I usually have a little wrist action involved as I pull across the flesh, and the curvature of the blade keeps the edge where it needs to be. The santoku's lengthened curve tends to pull away from the board for that, as does the chef's knife; the shorter blade length of the chai dao also seems better suited to this task.

For chopping herbs I find that I'll choose either the chai dao or the chef's knife. I think I like the chai dao somewhat better for this, but I'll need a few more trials to firm up that opinion.

I used the chai dao today to de-bone a pork shoulder I roasted, a task I wouldn't try with the santoku or chef's knife because they're just too long for the task. For the detail work I did finish with a boning knife, but the chai dao did a superior job taking the larger meat chunks off the bone with little effort involved.

So, in my kitchen at least, this is a very useful and usable knife from which I expect to get years of service.

I use this knife for everything. The perfect knife. I couldn't be happier. Like all Classic Wusthof knives this knife is hefty with excellent balance.

I've been looking for a really good set of pans literally for years. I tried a number of brands and styles and ultimately was dissatisfied in some way even the expensive ones had something I didn't like. Then when I was checking out a recipe on a cooks site, I saw that the site was sponsored by Scanpan. So as an experiment (and because my old omelet pan was shot), I decided to buy the 9 1/2" Scanpan fry pan. What a great pan! The heft is perfect, the handle well set and easy to hold, the non-stick is truly non-stick (even water just beads up on it), and it looks good on top of it all. I've already ordered the 12 1/4" fry pan and have made a list. I'll be replacing all my pots and pans with Scanpan professional over the coming months. Below are what I see as the pros and cons:

Pros:

Great non-stick when I make omelets, I don't need any butter at all. Burgers, chicken, steak, etc. don't stick at all.

Cleanup the surface is so non-stick that a simple wipe with a paper towel gets it visibly clean; followed by a little soapy water, and you're done.

Easy to hold it's well balanced, nice heft, and the handle is well shaped, it's very comfortable to work with.

Even heating the pan heats up *very* evenly.

A pan I can put in the oven unlike many non-sticks and many cheaper pans that have plastic handles, you can put all the Scanpan Professional pans in the oven when needed without worry. The pan even came with a little pot holder that slips over the handle for when you use it this way.

The handle doesn't heat up on the stove even though it's metal and riveted to the pan with large metal rivets, the handle stays cool and comfortable to use.

Looks great the stainless handle and the all-black pan just plain looks good.

Cons:

Dishwasher while Scanpan calls these pans "dishwasher safe" it's also "not recommended" that you put them in the washer. I tried it once and got a little of the outside black coating to come off not so it was noticeable, but I got a little bit of black dust on the towel. According to Scanpan, repeated washings will cause spotting and splotching. The good news is that it cleans so easily that it's not a deal killer.

Purchasing simply getting a hold of some of the pieces can be a challenge. I had to wait nearly 4 weeks for the 12 1/4" fry pan to come in as nobody in the country seemed to have it. Additionally, you're local stores probably aren't going to carry Scanpan, so if you're impatient, you're just going to have to learn to live with waiting for your cookware.

Price this is not inexpensive cookware. It's not outrageous lesser brands cost nearly as much but to outfit a kitchen is going to cost you somewhat over $1k by the time you're done (for what I want, I'm just over $1,500, for example). Do what I do and buy a piece a month or so and it's not that painful though.

Lids this is a personal choice, so it may not be a con for you, but I like glass lids not the type Scanpan puts on the classic line, but the type they put on the CTX line. Well, the professional line only has stainless lids. I'd buy CTX lids instead, but the CTX line is *very* limited and they just don't have all the lids I'd need. But, if you like stainless lids, or just don't care, this wouldn't be a con for you.

Rivets this is both a good news/bad news item on one hand, the rivets assure that the handle won't come loose; they hold the pan well and make sure you get a long life out of the pan. The bad is that food can collect on them that needs some vigorous scrubbing to come off. So far, I've not needed to use a toothpick to get the food off the perimeter of the rivets, but it wouldn't surprise me if at some point I make something that does require it.

So, all in all, this pan is the best fry pan I've ever had and all the other brands I've got are going to be getting donated away over the next few months as I completely replace them with Scanpan products.

After reading all of the good reviews I decided to get this pan. If I really liked it I was also going to purchase the chef's set of other pans. When it arrived I was so excited. I had been using a cheap omelet pan that all of the teflon had worn off and I was ready to invest in some good pans. Two things I found out. If you put veggies in your omelet and they touch the pan it will stick, but it cleaned up easily. I had to put a teaspoon of butter in. Second the rivets stick out and food collects around them so I have to take a toothpick to them occasionally. One of the rivets started moving, which I don't believe it is supposed to do. I called Scanpan 3 times so far and keep getting an answering machine. I leave a message but no one calls me back. I will try again today. I am deliberating if I should get the classic in the other pans but I hate the glass lids and this problem with Customer service is leaving me leery of making another purchase with this company.

Update. On the last call I was able to get a hold of customer service. The return was easy and the pan was replaced quickly. We ended up purchasing the 10 piece professional set and have been thrilled with how easy these pans are to cook with. We have not had any additional problems and I have recommended these pans to several of my friends and family. The only thing I would not recommend is buying the pasta insert. Anytime I use it water boils up all over my stove. I have tried to put less water in until there is not enough water to cook the pasta. I am now using it as a strainer in my sink.

With a lot of non-stick pans on the market right now, I wasn't sure how ScanPan would be much different than the rest. After using this almost daily for the last few months, I can say that this pan has far exceeded any expectations I've ever had for a piece of cookware.

The surface is so tough, you can use it worry free with metal utensils, and they even suggest giving your pan a cold water blast right after use to steam clean. No other non-stick pan would ever tell you to do this. Most of the time, a simple wipe with a paper towel is all the cleaning you need.

I'm able to use so much less oil in my cooking, and yet still produce flawless golden brown color on meat and fish. Eggs are a piece of cake, too!

These pans look quite impressive as well, and would be at home in any well appointed kitchen. All of this being said, they throw in a lifetime warranty on top of it. I'm sold!

Honest reviews on Scanpan Professional Fry Pan

I have had a set of Scan Pans for many years now, and bought this one because I needed a small egg frying pan that was as great of quality as my Scan Pans. I was delighted! For the first time in 20yrs, I can flip my egg without breaking the yoke! And it is just the perfect size to fry up bacon and eggs for 2!

Also, the handle on this type of pan is what you will want if you have any wrist problems like I do. Spend a little extra for this professional version because it does make a difference.

Just a note about this company, one of the other pans from my set purchased years ago when the product first came up had a few very small dings of some sort on the inside. None of the other pans had this and I was not sure how they got there. Well, after I bought this pan, I decided to contact Scan Pan and ask about my other one. They said to just send it back in to the warranty dept and they would be happy look at it. ( I did not even have a receipt because I had them so long )

Within a short amount of time, I had a new pan of that type (but updated since the other was older model) on my doorstep.

This is a company of their word! And these pans are worth every single penny of the purchase price!!!

My girlfriend has cystic fifrosis and is understandably cautious about her health. She wanted a nonstick pan that didn't use teflon and release the toxin PFOA. I did a pretty extensive search on line for green products and consumer reviews. This pan does not use teflon and tied with two other makes in Consumer Report for the highest non-stick rating. I bought the smallest, least expensive one for a trial run. This pan has been great! We have cooked eggs, onions, even cornbread in this pan and nothing has sticked. We have also used conventional metal utensils with out a mark. This pan has deivered on all it's claims. We couldn't be happier and plan to buy more to add to the set. The only downside is that these are expensive but is worth it since you don't have to treat it delicately.

After having made arepas by hand for over 40 years, and refusing to use any machines, I have to admit I was wrong. My family gave me the Miallegro Arepa maker for Christmas, and as soon as I used it, I decided I will not make them by hand any more!

I plugged it in and proceeded to heat the Arepa Maker as indicated. Meanwhile, I mixed the arepa meal as usual and filled every space and closed it to heat up. My whole family was observing the cooking time (I set it to 15 minutes) in anticipation. Taking out the arepas once they were cooked was easy and hassle-free.

Surprise, surprise: The exterior was cooked to perfection, nice and crunchy, and the meal inside was totally cooked, also to perfection. Big applause, everyone took an arepa and filled it with grated gouda cheese. You should have been there to hear all the Uhhhmmms and Ahhhs!

Did 2 more batches (family of 6 hungry men) and the results were always the same. I have since been using this Arepa maker twice or more a week, and I am very satisfied with the end result.

Perhaps the only issues that could make this Arepa maker better are: 1. Make the Round time setter more rugged, for better grip. 2. Put a bell so that it rings when it's done!

Our sons plan to buy the Miallegro Arepa maker, to use it in college. They love it! I love it!

The shape of the arepas in this thing is great, nice and thin, and it cooks fast too. There are only 3 cavities that I would consider to be "regular size" arepas (same size as other 4 cavity units), the other 4 cavities are considerably smaller (maybe 65% the size of a regular arepa). The good part is the heating system, from a cold start, I had 4 arepas ready in approx 10mins, its got plenty of heating power, also the arepa molds are a nice shape, very flat on top and bottom, not dome shaped like other units. There are a few flaws with this unit that I think are deal breakers though. The main one is the latch, it is made like junk. On an arepa maker, the latch is very important, as it keeps the plates in tight contact with the arepa so it cooks quickly and evenly. The first time we used the unit, once it started heating up and the arepas started to expand a little bit, the pressure broke the latch retainer, which is a thin piece of very brittle plastic that is designed for high temperature (but cracks like it is made of glass). The other weak point is the blue knob on top, its really a mechanical timer that turns the heating on and off. Very sloppy and low quality. Overall this thing is built like &*#@. The unfortunate thing is that most of the better made units (ie Oster 6 cavity, Bene Casa 6 cavity, etc) are really unavailable at the moment (no one has stock and doesn't know if/when they will ever get more), so this thing is pretty much one of the best large unit currently available (I've heard the IMUSA has issues where it does not cook fully, the Brentwood is not as good as the oster), and there are not many other choices which is really sad because I could not honestly recommend this unit.

My daughter in law is from Venezuela and she makes us arepa's when we visit. We love them. I was making them on a griddle but it takes really long. I ordered this arepa maker and it is great. It cooks them faster and works perfect. I love it. This seller was super to order from. Can't say enough about them and the arepa maker. Order yourself one. I ordered through Amazon.

Honest reviews on Miallegro 6007 MiArepa Maker

This product is cheaply made. It makes nice thin arepas but I used it maybe 7 times only and the knob broke. It smells terrible when its heating, releasing what smells like toxic fumes. The saying "You get what you pay for" well describes what you get when you buy a Miarepa. I do not recommend buying this. It went to the garbage bin.

My family love the new arepa maker. I got a little bad critic from the other arepa cookers for not making them the old fashioned way but my kids can easily make them and is quick and ready to eat. It is also easy to clean! I'd recommend the Arepa maker to anyone who loves Arepas and it makes a great gift for the holidays!

Best Thunder Group Aluminum Stock Pot Lids Deals

Thunder Group 20 Quart Aluminum Stock Pot Lid
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I already have the 40 qt version from this same manufacturer. The cover is very nice, sturdy, thick-gauge aluminum. Based on that I ordered two of the 15 qt size for another use. This second use is very size-specific so I made sure to measure accurately. As delivered these lids are maybe 1/16" under 12" wide. They are NOT 12.2 inches across. This is measuring outside edge to outside edge. A more useful measurement is from indented edges as this allows for them sitting on the lip of the pot. By this measure they are 11" (outside) and 10 1/8" (inside), meaning any pot with an opening between those two ranges will accept these lids with a good fit. If your pot is 12.2" across these lids will fall in. Unfortunately for me, I require that extra width.

They are of the same quality build as the 40 qt so that is not an issue. This sizing discrepancy has left me with the option of either returning them and guessing at what size will actually work (and paying more to boot) or modifying (cutting) the pots I'm using to allow a filter screen to fit the opening these lids allow. I am VERY disappointed in the sizing information provided. The only reason they are not getting a single star is because the same excellent build quality is present. The lousy description of their true size easily knocks them down to 2 stars.

***

I went back and measured the first lid I received, which is 17" across (outside edge). Though had I requested the 40 qt lid (15.2") I now realize I was apparently sent the 60 qt lid. That lid has always considerably overhung my 40 qt pot but it didn't matter too much. I am now even more disappointed in both purchases for the pervasive lack of quality control.

I've been using this pot lid and the accompanying pot to brew beer. It has been a great brew pot as the aluminium has a much lower specific heat, which works much better on my electric range. It's huge and you really can't beat the price.

My only caveat is that you have to watch out what you clean this with as any chlorine-based agents will oxidize the pot.

This pizza knife is big, sharp and easy to handle. It works great with both small and large cut pizzas. It looks intimidating but really handles nice. It is also impressive when you are cutting pizza for show. I have a pizza catering business and this pizza knife offers a different way to cut pizzas rather than using the roller type pizza cutter. Most of my clients love watching the whole process of making, baking and cutting the pizza. It is bulky so you may have to find a place to store it.

This knife is a great alternative to those wheels that push the toppings all around. There's no reason to go into pizza cutting details, so I'll just mention some unexpected things. (1) This knife is VERY big, as it needs to be to do it's job, but good luck finding a place in the kitchen to store it. I wedge mine into the side of a cabinet. (2) My cutting board has a raised edge, and the knife contacts the edge, stopping it from coming down far enough to cut through the crust adjacent to that edge of the cutting board. (3) The little handle on top of the blade is just that, little. It works, but I would prefer a bigger little handle. Overall, I like it because it cuts the pizza without mangling it.

Best Deals for American Metalcraft PPK17 Stainless Steel Pizza Knife with POM

This sharp and sturdy rocker kinfe makes straight cuts quickly and easily. The 18" blade allows me to cut completely through a large pizza with one motion. The blade stays clean compared to roller type cutters and the rocking action cuts toppings neatly and makes short work of crust. At a total length of 23.5", with a double handle and a nicely curved blade, this knife is a pleasure to use. I was surprised at the size and bulk of this pizza cutter. I am very happy with my purchase.

Honest reviews on American Metalcraft PPK17 Stainless Steel Pizza Knife with POM

Extremely sharp and long enough to cut any size pizza. It cleans up easily with soap and water. I would not recommend putting this in the dishwasher, ours went through a standard cycle once and the handle pulled away slightly from the tang at the base of the blade. I did have to put some special thought into storage for this giant piece of kitchen hardware!

I'm a single guy and searched around for an inexpensive cookware set (< $50) to support my simple minimilistic, single lifestyle. This set seerms to be the deal I need. Used my Amazon Prime membership 'next day' delivery ($3.99) and they arrived today. Each glass lid fits snug has a metal collared vent hole..I like that. The blue color I chose suits me. Bottoms are blue as well. The handles are comfortable and fit my adult male hand just fine. Thanks to my mother Jane; I -knowhow to cook...that is...carefully with moderate heat and mindfully. Many cookware set reviews on Amazon moan about warped pans and so on. I know better. I use low to medium heat ('frying' works on 'Medium' guys & gals!) and I closely monitor what the 'F' is going on whenever the range is in use. Frankly many folks are just impatient and thusly neglectful...so thier cookware sets suffer due to unintentional owner abuse. In 2012 people are too busy, too pressured and stressed-out. They have no patience. No time for such nonsense! The instructions caution about proper care and repeated detergent use..Most will throw the pamphlet out unread, then post a negative review. I have NOT used these pans yet. The 3 included utensils look fine and the turner has a nice beveled edge. I posted a product PIC so people can see the set on a 4 burner range. Pretty nice and I expect this set will show normal wear and tear same as a $200+ set by Paula or Rachel. (notice how much Rachel has changed?) The difference here is my 'cheap set' will never be abused or misused. Never improperly heated or improperly washed..I read the pamphlet. Single GUYS this is ALL the cookware you'll ever need!

UPDATE: Oct 8 2012

I've fixed Mac & Cheese twice and fried 4 burger patties using smaller sauce pan and skillet respectively.

Blue paint did not burn-off NOR did it emit toxic fumes as some ninny suggests...probably because I used medium heat to 'fry' and turned down the heat when my water for Mac & Cheese began to boil. Most users are not so mindful for whatever reasons. I am.

I took a gamble in buying these pots thinking they would be a quick solution to some kitchen issues. (I generally make a habit of seeing items in store before buying them online at all.) The Color splash Pots although aesthetically pleasing lack quality. It is shown in they're thinness and lack of ability with handling medium/high heats adequately. On the upside all the pots stack neatly inside one another so it is good in terms of storage. Good for someone moving into a small place and only cooking passively....but as for the rest of us? Best of luck-you'll need it.

Best Deals for Gibson Colorsplash Merville 10-Piece Cookware Set

Positives: The serving spoon, slotted spoon, and slotted turner are nice enough. The pans stack well inside each other. The lids have hole in them to vent the steam.

Negatives: Everything else. After only two weeks of light to moderate cooking, the bottom of the saucepan is burnt and discolored. The bottom of the saucepan was originally covered in the same paint as the sides and every time I cook, I smell the paint burning off. It is a rather toxic smell, definitely not appetizing. Food also sticks quite a bit to the surface of the sauce pan, so I find myself having to use more oil than I previously did. I will be getting rid of these pans asap. They are cheaply made and cannot handle heat well at all.

Honest reviews on Gibson Colorsplash Merville 10-Piece Cookware Set

These are not long term pots and pans. Good price and is holding me over until I can afford a better set. I cook daily and have used this for a few months now. I probably will have to replace mid next year I'm expecting. 3 stars for price to quality ratio.

After only a month of use, the inside has begun chipping away. Nice to know we've been eating chips of whatever cheap crap these pots are lined with! Also, the bottoms have all been burned!

Don't waste your money. Spend a few extra bucks on decent kitchenware.

I love this pot, I had been making do with a crummy cheap pot that I got at the store (in order to get a decent one you had to buy an entire set) I finally got sick of stuff burning on the bottom and it being hard to clean (even though it was non stick) so i sent for this pot. What a difference! Very good weight, even heating and easy cleaning. The only thing I would change would be to make the handles cooler to the touch if possible. Other than that, it's a great pot and plenty big enough to cook up a couple days worth of stew, etc.

I purchased the pressure cooker several month ago. I love it but manytimes I wanted have a normal lid. I did not know it is available until my friend told me. It was very good price too.

I am very glad amazon carries all the lids and sealing rubber parts. Now, I use as normal pot with this lid and pressure cooker which is great. Only thing I wished that the finish of the rim of lid would more smooth.

Well, overall I am very happy wiht it.

It is a good product. I use it all the time. Price could have been little bit cheaper.

It's a lid. Works like a lid. Good lid. Fits right on my 6 1/2 qt WMF Pressure Cooker. I don't use it that much because I really only use my pressure cooker for pressure cooking, but it's nice to have when I need an extra large pot.

Honest reviews on WMF Perfect Plus Glass Lid

If you have this, you don't need to put the heavy lid of pressure cooker and use this as an efficient deep pot.

I have been shopping for month, years really, for affordable and high quality stainless cookware. I shopped the department stores and the others around the mall but they all had over priced home stuff. Being a former chef and still a restaurant operator I wanted something that would last, I wanted what our kitchens use. THIS IS IT!! It's maybe a touch lighter weight than that in a commercial kitchen but it's pretty close, and I don't have a commercial stove at home so this is perfect. Exactly what you need if you're looking for commercial quality home cookware. I have 12 pieces and they're all great. Best home purchase EVER!!!

I like the look and feel, but it's kind of hard to grip the handle when full. Also, the lid holds a huge amount of water when you remove it. You have to remember to drain in pot before taking it off, or water goes everywhere

Deluxe Healthy Legend 11 Pc German Weilburger Ceramic Coating Non-stick Fry Pans and Sauce Pan Cookware set by Healthy Legend - Now Induction Ready Cookware

This is my second set of Healty Legend cookware. It has the stock pot and grill pan as extra compare to my original 8 pcs set. My original 8 pcs set from over one year ago is still working great. This bigger set is even better with the induction ready bottom. I took it to RV camping all the time and using them on a Duxtop inductive cooktop. The non-stick is very good. The German ceramic coating is much better than the cheap one like Orgreenic or Green Pan. I also bought a Scanpan 2 years ago. While the Scanpan is good. I heard titanium metal on the Scanpan coating may have slight health problem too. Therefore, I would recommend this set over anything else on the market. The price isn't too expensive as even Teflon coated cookware sell for more at Macy.

This is a quality set. The least toxic of the non-stick choices. This 11 Pc set is specifically made for induction cooktops...meaning glass top ranges but can also be used on traditional electric and gas. The bottoms on this set is more built up and seems to conduct heat better or more even than the 8 piece version of the same brand sold here on Amazon. I have both sets but I use the 8 piece set only on a gas range.

These are so easy to clean, they don't need to go into the dishwasher. Actually, I ran one piece in the dishwasher and it discolored the bottom badly. So, just hand wash and dry. The machine work on them is very good, meaning no sharp edges. The handles are longer than usual, which I like. The hole at the end of the handles are large for those who have a overhead pot rack.

The stock pot does not come with its own lid but the lid from the skillet fits. Hope this information helps!

I've had these for two month and I regret not returning them when I still could. Perhaps the coating is German, but everything else feels like designed in China. First of all the lids, they have cheap feeling, especially the round handle which also traps water on the inside. Same goes for the pan handles they are the worst design I've seen. They get hot, also trap water on the inside which which makes noises when the pan gets hot and the logo already fallen off on most the pans. I hope the coating at least will hold up.

Honest reviews on Deluxe Healthy Legend 11 Pc German Weilburger Ceramic Coating

I bought this set for over 6 months and used it everyday. I don't agree with some other poor reviews I saw. One review said its lid knob get hot and trap water. However, I think the glass lid is nice. The metal knob does get hot but that is normal. It doesn't trap water vapor if you tight the screw and washer down good enough. It is just a very small thing and I don't consider it is a problem at all. The handle seems to be well made enough and insulating heat OK. I have many other cookware including the expensive American Craft. Their handle got hotter.

For the grill pan, it has ridges. It is good to cook steak or pork chop so the oil can drip down and also created a grill mark on the steak just like your BBQ grill. As of the quality, I think the set has great quality consistant of product Made in Germany. It has a thick metal feeling. As of the country of origin, I had checked with the factory, it has the final assembly and coating done in Germany. The uncoated pan and parts are from Hungary.

The German costing is amazing and it is holding up very well after interse use. The most important is that it is not Teflon so I am not eating any toxic. I had purchased a few sets to give to my mother and mother in law. I also bought a set for my church. They all love my gift very much.

We use ours on an induction cookbook in our RV & at home. Love them. The down side is that the handles get extremely hot.

Nice pan but I find the handle a little on the thin side...ie for gripping. I have an average sized male hand.

Got the Friday sale price of $7.

I've got pans coming out of the wazoo. People make fun of me and all my pans. Guess you could call me a Pan Handler :)

FULLFILLS MY PURPOSE .... THEREFORE 5 STARS.

GOOD FOR MAKING TEA.. BOILING EGGS...

DEEPER THAN OTHER 1.5 QUARTS THAT I HAVE HAD.I HAVE NO COMPLAINS WITH THE HANDLE..SO FAR

Best Deals for Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 1-1/2-Quart Open Sauce Pan

We have other stainless steel Farberware pots and pans and were in need of a new 1 1/2 quart (which any 1 1/2 quart is practically to impossible to find). Being it was listed as a Classic Farberware product we figured it would be like our other older ones, which are 100% stainless. Much to our dismay, this Farberware Classic was anything but. It was Stainless plated and not true stainless steel. You can test stainless with a magnet, as it will not stick to stainless steel. We should have been skeptical because of the low price but we took the chance. The pot was pretty heavy duty just the same, and for the price I guess it was worth the cost. Therefore we did not return it, but do not expect it to outlast and hold up as real stainless steel would. All in all, we are happy to have another 1 1/2 quart pot. As we stated, it is heavy weight and will do the trick, but we will continue to search for the real deal and one that is not tapered at the bottom, (longer to heat as the bottom surface is not dimensional to the rim. Like everything now days, you get what you pay for, and maybe the cost of making a 100% stainless pot is too high for the manufacture to make large enough profit. However they should have stated that it was plated in the description. Now you know!

Honest reviews on Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 1-1/2-Quart Open Sauce Pan

I bought this pan trusting good reviews, however I am very disappointed.

Pros:

pan is really cheap

you can boil an egg in this pan (the clean up would be easy after that one. Maybe)

Cons:

rounded bottom edges should be perfect for whisking sauces and custards, but it seems that only the bottom has an aluminium core, so the sides are not heated through. As a result your sauce will not be heated evenly. I contacted producer to check this, they did mot respond.

it is impossible to clean. Neither dishwasher nor bar keepers friend could remove the stains the pan seems to create out of any substance which gets into it (milk, soup for reheating, pretty much anything else, than again see pros). I have other stainless steel pots, sadly those are expensive, they clean up just fine.

material is thin and flimsy

plastic handle warms up and smells like, well burnt plastic, even when I use medium heat.

Overall, even considering the price, I regret this purchase.
