This is a well-made knife. I expect no less from Wüsthof, and I'm pretty sure the build quality isn't your primary reason for reading a review. What you want to know is: how is it to use?

For comparison, I'll bring in my Shun santoku and Victorinox Forschner Fibrox chef's knife. The chai dao weighs just about the same as the santoku, and more than the Victorinox (everything weighs more than the Victorinox--but that's not a complaint). The balance at the bolster is excellent. The blade is just a shade thinner than that of the santoku, and wider than that of the chef's knife.

For dicing an onion or other softer vegetables, all three knives do a great job, and choosing one of them is a matter of whichever you find more comfortable to hold. I give the chai dao an edge on this (okay, pun intended) because I find the santoku a little uncomfortable to hold at the bolster, and the Victorinox definitely wants to be held by the handle. For dicing carrots, the Victorinox doesn't work as well as the other two because it's lighter, and the heft of the santoku and chai dao knives helps one get through the carrot.

For slicing chicken breast for stir-fry (or whatever you're making), the chai dao shines. When I slice meats I usually have a little wrist action involved as I pull across the flesh, and the curvature of the blade keeps the edge where it needs to be. The santoku's lengthened curve tends to pull away from the board for that, as does the chef's knife; the shorter blade length of the chai dao also seems better suited to this task.

For chopping herbs I find that I'll choose either the chai dao or the chef's knife. I think I like the chai dao somewhat better for this, but I'll need a few more trials to firm up that opinion.

I used the chai dao today to de-bone a pork shoulder I roasted, a task I wouldn't try with the santoku or chef's knife because they're just too long for the task. For the detail work I did finish with a boning knife, but the chai dao did a superior job taking the larger meat chunks off the bone with little effort involved.

So, in my kitchen at least, this is a very useful and usable knife from which I expect to get years of service.

I looked at them all. The $40 grills, the $80 grills...and I thought, it's cast iron for goodness sake just try the cheap one! I am not disappointed. I can't believe we didn't have one of these sooner. It's pre-seasoned nicely -little to no sticking during the first use. It retains a nice, even heat very well. There is a small section on the griddle side that is somewhat irregular but I wasn't aiming for the perfection of Teflon anyway. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because it seems a bit narrow and there doesn't seem to be a lot of space for grease to go. -We generally don't cook with high-fat meats so it won't be a problem for us.

Besides meats, it makes a great panini-like sandwich. -Or a grilled burrito. Cleanup is easy. If you are interested in a stove-top grill but don't want to spend a lot of money -this is the one for you.

Like the previous review, my grill had a smelled really bad the first time I used it. I washed the grill the same way I washed all my other cast iron (5 different pots/pans) so I thought it would be okay. Before using it a second time I rewashed and thoroughly scrubbed the grill and there was no smell. Seems like the wax applied to the grill for shipping is the culprit.

Another complaint (and the reason it lost another star) I have is that my grill came slightly warped and doesn't fit flush with my stove. Since I have a gas stove this isn't too big of a deal but I would have been extremely annoyed and returned it if I had an electric stove.

This griddle is awful! It says that it come preseasoned, but I am wondering what PETROLEUM product they seasoned it with. I washed it in mild detergent after receiving it (as per instructions) then used it for french toast. It cooked fine, but the odor once heated was awful! It smelled like gasoline and paint mixed. The food tasted the same as the smell. To give the product the benefit of the doubt, I washed it again, this time using vinegar and strong detergent (hoping to get the layer of whatever it was off). Knowing that it would need to be seasoned again, I coated it in canola oil and put it in the oven to season. After about 10 minutes the house was filled with that awful smell and everyone's eyes were burning. Needless to say I WILL NOT be cooking anything on this griddle. Terrible choice by the manufacturer either in the coating or product materials themselves.

product works wonderfully only gripe would be burners on MY stove are a little far apart for this griddle so it heats at the ends of the griddle, i would have liked it more toward the center but it still works fantastic, heats evenly, even to the middle, gets real hot though and quickly.

for the price i have no complaints, it does it's job adequately. that's for both the grill or the griddle.

This wok is ruined by a poorly constructed handle. After short usage the chrome "plate" was peeling off leaving razor sharp edges, and now the handle is coming loose and no amount of tightening of the inadequate screw will correct this.

Word to the wise, always look for a solidly riveted handle, and not this sort of cheap apology.

This wok is great for a healthier stir-fry. Because of the non-stick coating you don't need to use as much oil as other woks which makes for a much tastier and healthier stir-fry. I also really like the glass lid. After I get the meat all cooked up on high heat I can then bring it down to a low simmer put all the vegetables in and cover it for a few more minutes. This keeps the vegetables at a nice crispness. To top it all off, the wok can even be washed in the dishwasher for those times that you just don't have enough time to mess with all of the clean up. This is a great wok!

The thing that impressed me most about this wok is that it is truly nonstick. A lot of pots/pans/woks claim to be nonstick but require a lot of oil to really keep things moving. Not with this wok. I've made several curries and stir fries and everything slides around with ease, which means I don't have to overload the food with an unhealthy amount of oil. Also, it's lighter weight than other woks I've used, making it easier to handle. A good stir fry requires a lot of movement and stirring, and this wok allows that without making it feel like a chore. The shape and glass lid also make it versatile for things other than traditional Asian dishes. So far, I am pleased with this product.

I bought this pot at Christmas. I bought it after much searching for products made in the USA. I used it twice and the nonstick surface bubbled and peeled off. I was very careful and followed the instructions on not using high heat. I also bought a Nordicware cookware set that is working awesome. The problem is obviously with the aluminum pans and not the black rangeware set.

Very nice with heavy aluminum construction. Funny though, it is just a little too big around for all the other glass covers from the old ones we threw away. I think that was planned to sell the 6.95 solid top that is offered.

Was a great dish but unfortunately smashed for no reason when removing it from the oven. Was cooking at 400F, opened oven door, slid tray out that the dish was on and, bang! Dish now in multiple parts and off to the bin. This was only the third or fourth time this dish was used. It was always hand washed and nothing came into contact with it on removal from the oven. Picking this was faulty but hard to prove. Still gave it 4/5 and would recommend to all. I'm sure this wont happen to everyone.

I was looking for a nice lasagna pan, preferably with a lid. I already have some of the other pieces in RR's stoneware collection, have been happy with them, so I went with this one. It's a little smaller than the Rachael Ray Stoneware 9-Inch by 13-Inch Rectangular Lasagna Lover Pan, Red, which I was also considering. But I am usually only cooking for two, plus, I wanted one with a lid, which the larger pan does not have. Still, you can make a decent-sized casserole in this one.

I love the way these pieces look; such a fun look and so much nicer than some boring metal or plain Pyrex pan. The stoneware retains the heat very well. They are also super-easy to clean, and are dishwasher-safe. I use thick welding gloves as oven mitts, and the handles on these pans are big enough so I can get a good grip while wearing those gloves.

Highly recommended.

I really enjoy this product and would recommend it to most anyone. The size is great and can be used for many different dishes from lasagna to casseroles and roasts. The color is great and the overall look is very attractive. This product is very versatile and can go from oven to table and then straight to the fridge for leftovers. I love that! As others have stated this really is a non-stick pan. It is extremely easy to clean as well. I wash mine by hand but it is dishwasher safe as well.

The product is very heavy but I expect that with stoneware. Just be aware that if you are looking for a lighter weight product this is not it.

I also love that the lid fits very snuggly into the main casserole dish. It doesn't slip or slide around and keeps a nice tight fit.

The only thing I would change is the handle on the lid. It is a solid piece and I feel like it will easily slip from my hand if I am not extremely careful. I would much prefer a handle that is open like the side handles on the main pan.

This review and the photos I uploaded above are for the red 7 quart colander.

The overall quality is very good. The enamel finish is nice. The color is close to red-orange. The metal rim on the top is a little bit loose, but it's not really an issue; I don't think it'll come off. The handles are riveted, so I find them to be very sturdy. It could use some more holes on the edge of the bowl base for better drainage, but tilting it usually takes care of whatever water is remaining.

Dimensions (7 Quart): The top diameter is 13" and the handles extend another 1.5" each. The bottom pedestal is 8.25" in diameter. Total height is 6.75" (5" for the top bowl and 1.75" for the pedestal).

I got this in pink and loved it. But... it does chip and rust a little, and now doesn't look so great after just a few years. I'm now looking to replace it with something else. Although I'm all for whimsy in the kitchen, I think I'd prefer longevity.

I've only had my colander for a 3 months, and the enamel is already chipping and the metal underneath is rusting. Now, we do use it for a lot of draining pasta, so we're pouring boiling water through it. We also put it in the dishwasher to wash. But why would I want to have to treat a utilitarian tool in my kitchen with kid gloves? I expected better performance. So, now I'm looking for a colander that is just plain stainless steel. It won't be as pretty, but I'm hoping it will work better.

We searched local stores for something like this that my husband could use to lift and stir assorted cut vegetables when grilling them (with a little olive oil, and containing the pieces in a metal 'basket' we bought at Lowe's).

This set of tongs works very well and is just what he was looking for.

They're very comfortable

They're long enough to not get my fingers toasted, but not too long so as to feel like I'm holding a sword

Grippy enough to pick up sausages without dropping them

Open wide enough to pick up bigger pieces of chicken, steaks, etc.

Clean very easily

The handle stays cool even when working over the grill for a long time

Works well on the grill and on a stovetop, but I would NOT recommend these for non-stick pans (get silicone-tipped ones instead, like these: Orka 12-Inch Stainless and Silicone Tongs, Blue)

Cons:

The grips are just press-fit into the metal housing, so they might eventually fall out and get lost. This hasn't been an issue yet, but just be aware that they're not glued in or anything.

Overall, I love these tongs and would definitely get them again.

Made in China. The pot arrived in the cheapest packaging possible, and it had a dent in the bottom corner likely received during shipping. Despite this, I would give it a higher rating if the handles were attached with rivets, as one would expect of professional cookware. Instead, the handles are each mounted behind a piece of sheet metal that is spot-welded to the pot. I am skeptical that the handles will survive much abuse over the years. So far they seem secure enough, though.

The bottom of the pot is thick, perhaps 1/2 inch as advertised, and seems to do a great job of spreading out the heat. I use the pot on an outside propane burner what else is big enough and puts out enough heat? and I've not had anything burn due to hot spots. The pot made a lot of pinging and clicking sounds when I first exposed it to the full propane flame. I expect this is normal for stainless steel, or for pots with layered bottoms, but I'm used to a cast iron pot that does not make these noises.

I have no lid for this pot because who wants to spend another $55 for a lid? This pot is huge. I think the lid from my Weber grill would probably fit.

Tired of replacing scratched non-sticks, found a video on proper stianless use, I Wanted a wider pan to braze more meat at one time. & hold more stew or sauce. always found the smaller pans were too small & I had to dump the food into taller narrow pots,where even though I was careful, stirring would mush up the potatoes,etc in the stew I feel the wider pan can reduce faster, & the contents can be stirred easier, esp. if you like to keep a clearer sause. The bottom is thick, & my ego doesn't need the outside mirror finish. This quality pot will probably end up being passed on to my grandkids. When I overheated the pan, the 6" sides kept the splatter in. (with the lid on,the contents simmer perfectly, on low) Cleaning takes a bit. it hardly fits into the sink for cleaning. It does sit nicely on the middle of the double sink. & I might not have to carry it downstairs, once the non-sticks are gone. Can't wait to make chili & baked beans in it! & I liked it so much, I ordered the shallow 14.25" saute pan & lid. I think the 14.25" will be perfect for smaller quantities, ease of stirring, much easier to clean up. & will be heads above our old pans. Thanks Eurodib!

I have used these forks for more than 30 years. I carry one in purse at all time because I never know when I will be eating my beloved crab legs. These are the best forks I have ever found for crab legs. Every time I go out with someone and they see me use one, they want one, so I give them one. Over the years I have purchased more than 50 of these forks and will continue to purchase them. One end works like a can opener and the other end pushes the meat out. They work very well on the small snow crab legs--better than any other fork. You won't be disappointed.

Seriously, we all use tall jars, right? Some of those are also narrow, so spearing things in them with standard forks can result in spills, loss of marinading fluid, messy counters, etc.

I can't speak to using them for crustaceans because sadly I am now allergic to those, but I'd been seeking forks that would work perfectly for tall and thin jars for some time and these are wonderful!

Great product, stainless steel, fork on one end, spoon-like on the other, thin on both sides. Our family loves these for fishing out pieces of crab and lobster meat. Makes fishing out the pieces easy and clearing out the shells complete. Be careful as the fork end are sharp.

This cooker is one of the many wonderful pieces of T-Fal stainless steel that I have. It works extremely well for cooking all kinds of things besides chicken. In fact, I used it last night for cooking Sloppy Joes and it was fast and required very little cleaning up.
