I've had a handful of pieces of LeCreuset Stainless Steel Cookware for about two months, cooking roughly 19 meals per week. They're all great performers and very attractive. This line is basically All-Clad Stainless for 30% less. They are made in China, which is a sticking point for some people, but I am convinced that quality has not suffered. It's simply an incredible pan for a better price. Other reviews state that this line approaches or equals All-Clad Stainless, and surpasses Calphalon Stainless.

These pans are fully clad, meaning the aluminum core extends up the sides; it's not only in the bottom. They are incredibly responsive on my gas stovetop. I actually thought they were too fast when I first got them, but now it's just another quality I appreciate. They heat quickly and extremely evenly. You often use a lower heat to achieve the same results.

The handles are comfortable, a good length, and rarely get too hot (obviously, they get hot during oven use). They are made to fit through the handles of the lids, which is a convenient storing option. And incidentally, the lids are great, since they're stainless, too, instead of glass. This means no crud build-up around the edge, and they seal great. The same lids work on both of the saucepans I have.

It has an excellent lifetime warranty. Thankfully I haven't had to use that, but I did use it with a Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 15-3/4-Inch Oval Fish Skillet, Flame, and was very pleased. (It was a lengthy process at nearly a month, but given that I got a brand new replacement for a $200 pan that was 4 years old, it seemed quite generous.)

These pans are a little taller and narrower than most other brands' saucepans. This helps when boiling something long, like asparagus. The bottoms are curved just right, so whisks and utensils fit in easily, allowing you to stir thoroughly and clean easily. The rolled edge truly does make pours a no-drip affair. The pan is balanced and light, but with enough heft to feel substantial and well-made. I haven't mde much use of the measurement internal markings, but people who like those find them very convenient.

Quality cookware like this makes a big difference if you cook frequently. It gets to temperature faster, heats evenly without burning in spots, recovers quicker and keeps its temperature easier. Since it handles well, it's more pleasant to cook with, moving easily around the kitchen, and holding still on the cooktop.

It cleans easily. I use regular dish soap most of the time. Bon Ami 04030 Bon Ami Cleaning Cake and Powder, 12-Ounce is my regular scouring powder, though Bar Keepers Friend® Cleanser & Polish: 12 OZ leaves the pan with a little extra sparkle (powder only, I Strongly dislike the liquid), which is nice since these pans are so pretty. Le Creuset makes a Le Creuset 12-Ounce Stainless Steel Cleaner, but I haven't yet tried it.

I love the LC Stainless cookware I have, and am looking forward to getting a little more.

Is this pan heavy? Yes, just like any high quality piece of cookware. That is why it has a helper handle. The long handle is very ergonomic, especially compared to All-Clad. We added this to our collection of high end cookware about six months ago and have not been disappointed. It has a great rolled rim for pouring, the handles stay cool, and it has measurement markings on the inside of the pan. I have owned All-Clad in the past and I think this is a better design, and better quality for less money. And be sure to check out the steamer basket insert, the single best tool I have ever used for steaming vegetables, hands down.

I've had this pot for around 6 months now and like it quite a bit. It heats up extremely quick and is great to cook with. The lip that these pots have is a god-send if you're like me and tend to strain or pour items out of your pots and then return to the heater. There's no over-spill or trickling down the side of the pot. They really work!

The lifetime warranty on these pots allows you to wash them in the dishwasher which is great. I have only had discoloring on the inner-bottom portion of my pots but this is expected when cooking with pots that have stainless steel exposed. Scouring with Bar Keepers Friend will remove this but is unnecessary.

I had wanted to upgrade to pots that I felt I would keep for a long time. I initially had bought a set of Calphalon hard anodized aluminum pots based on the discount on Amazon as well as the reviews. I found the pots excessively tedious to clean and were not very uniform with heating. These pots on the other hand are fantastic and I believe I have found the perfect set for myself. I'm going to upgrade my skillets once the coating on my Calphalon skillets give out and am greatly looking forward to the lip that is on the pans as well. This is a must buy for someone that wants pots similar to All-Clad but are wary of the All-Clad price tag. I've gone through 4 various sets of pots from moving and not wanting to take them along but if I end up with another cross-country move these pots will be going with me.

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Tri-Ply Stianless Steel Covered Saucepan

I have been cooking with All-Clad for 14 years (the entry level pots). I've abused these pots over the years and am ready to donate them to the family cottage. [I find the All-Clad handles and lack of rimmed edges to be an ongoing challenge that I won't bore you with...]

Today I visited a high-end cookware store and checked out this line. Wow! The weight is ideal -not too light, not too heavy. The handle design, style and ergonomics are a dream. Love the measurement lines inside, love the brushed stainless, love the contemporary look (honestly, the online photos don't truly convey the stylish form factor of this cookware).

A previous poster commented that the set is heavy. I disagree -it's the exact weight you would expect for higher quality tri-ply. For comparison sake, Demeyere Atlantis was on display next to this set. This line is heavy! My cell phone rang so i was juggling the large skillet in one-hand, trying to place it back on the display stand perpendicularly to the table and couldn't do it with one arm. (I'm fit and can swing a 20lb cast iron kettlebell at the gym like nobody's business). I also checked out Cuisinart's Mult-Clad line (reviewed by Cooks Illustrated and has so many 4.5 star reviews). This multiclad line is light but not in a good way. It felt cheap to me. If you are an occasional cook or novice, this is a good option or starter set but otherwise, it's not for the serious home cook unless you're on a tight budget. Anyhow, my point is Le Creuset is in-between these two weights (and price points), if that helps the online shopper.

My one hesitation about the gorgeous Le Creuset line that it is made in China...... When I found out, all I could think was 'why, why, why' and 'no, no, no'. I have been searching for quality cookware at a reasonable price for a while...am tired of my All-Craps. I think this line is superior to my current All-Clads, yet I hesitate to buy them for this reason. The sales associate in the store assured me that "Le Creuset has its OWN factory in China so the products are made to the same high standard as they would in Europe". It didn't close the deal for me. Also, she is in sales so her job is to sell. So now I am looking at Cuisinart's French Classic made in France line (even though it lacks the rolled rim feature and doesn't come in brushed SS)

I would really love to see some professional product reviews of Le Creuset. I will continue to watch this line to see how it does in the US market.

Of the saucepans I recently purchased for a new induction stove, this one seems to give consistently the best performance. It also does not gradually form a white film on the inside surface of the pan, like much of the other new stainless cookware I have tried.

I believe this pan is an excellent saucepan in all respects, except for the high price.

We bought both the 12 and 16 quart pots. We couldn't be happier. We have a large family and these sizes are great for pasta, sauce, corn, chili, BBQ...you name it. They are very sturdy, and the bottom is perfectly flat...something we need because we have a ceramic cooktop. They heat evenly and food doesn't stick. We were looking at pots that cost considerably more, but I'm glad we make the choice we did.

I was a bit hesitant to buy this because I never thought very highly about the Farberware brand name (always thought it was a cheap copy of and inferior to All-Clad, Kitchen-Aid, etc.). But the price was too good to pass up, so I took a chance. I'm happy I did because I use this pot all the time now. It has a very thick, heavy core on the bottom, which (pleasantly) surprised me. It's kept its sheen and good looks through many cleanings (though it's too big to fit in a dishwasher unless you have one without the arm that sticks up in the middle). Food sticking has not been an issue. I highly recommend this for someone who needs a big high-quality stockpot but doesn't want to pay All-Clad prices.

This pot works nicely ... heats evenly and cleans well.

I would have given it a 5, but I would be happier if it had a vent/adjustable opening to allow steam to vent somewhat without boiling over.

The lid fits with a very slight bit of room, so steam comes out the edges. This is not preferred since it's easy to get burned even when using the handles if there is a large amount of steam.

Honest reviews on Farberware Classic Stainless Steel Covered Stockpot, 12-Quart

I researched stock pots for a while, and based on the reviews here decided on this Farberware stock pot. After using it one time to make stock, I noticed that the top layer of the inside bottom of the pan was spotty. On closer inspection it appeared that the surface metal had come off in patches (into my stock!). I returned this pan and ordered a replacement. However, the second pan did the same (not as bad though) and so that is being returned too. I'll continue me research and choose a different manufacturer. I'm very grateful that Amazon will take returns and their process is so easy.

This pot is quite beautiful when it comes out of the box. The handles on the sides and lid are particularly elegant. But you buy it for the cooking and it is excellent at that. We've burnt a lot of chile over the years, but not since getting this pot.

One word of advice: I got this thinking it was plenty big for a party's worth of chile. It is not (at least not for a party of 30 or more). Though it might seem crazy, consider getting the 16 quart version if you're going to be entertaining on a large scale.

As a chopper to use on a daily basis, this is unbeatable. The blades are much more substantial than on other products of this size. However, you have to be very careful with the plastic bowl. The center section that holds the blade has begun to break. Currently half of the circular holder (in the middle) is gone. Although it will still hold the blade, if it breaks any more, it probably won't. I'm going to have to find a replacement for the plastic bowl. October 18, 2005 update: Guess what? I contacted Black & Decker online, and they have a company that they refer you to that handles their replacement parts. In this case they are sending me a complimentary new 3 cup plastic bowl. I wish I could change my rating upward; this is real customer service. July 5, 2007 update: Since I received the replacement bowl, I have used this appliance constantly, that is, three to five times a week. I have had no problems with the center section of the replacement bowl. February 8, 2008 update: Note that when Amazon runs this item for $12.99, it is really a screaming deal.

August 16, 2011 update: You know what? This thing is still going strong. I have had no trouble whatsoever with the replacement bowl. Just don't stress this chopper out with something like chestnuts; those simply need to be cut up by hand.

December 22, 2012 update: The replacement bowl has developed a crack in the bottom, after seven years of constant use, but as long as it does not leak, I will not replace it. However, I note that as of this date, the current price is $17.12 with super saver shipping, the lowest price that I have seen this item for months.

Ever wish you could chop up an onion in 2 seconds? It's possible with this little beauty. Instant bread crumbs? No sweat! How about shaved ice? It's a snap!

The Black & Decker EHC650 Ergo 3-Cup Food Chopper is unlike anything I have used before. It's SAFE and EASY to use. The best part is the clean-up: There really isn't any. It has only three parts! There's the cup, the powerful blade that slips into the cup, and the ergonomic top. The top is actually the motor and it fits comfortably in your hand.

It's so easy to use:T

Step 1: Take the one-pound chopper off the shelf.

Step 2: Take off the cover and fill the container.

Step 3: Put the cover on and push one of the two buttons (one's fast and one's slow).

Two settings fast-pulse and slow-pulse give you flexibility in how coarse you want your food to be chopped. It even purees!

The see-through container lets you see the food as it is being chopped.

Don't need all those chopped onions right now? Use what you need then pop the handy lid on the container and store it in your fridge.

I highly recommend this product based on its easy of use and ease of clean-up.

This is the best electric food chopper I ever used.

So far I've only used this on two foods. I chopped chicken strips and celery chunks (separately) to make chicken salad. The fact that it has a bottom blade and another about an inch above allows it to do a better, quicker job of chopping the pieces that get thrown up by the bottom blade than others I've tried that only have a bottom blade. Those usually chop the bottom layer too fine and leave big pieces untouched. I also liked that there are few parts: the motor/lid, the 3-cup bowl, the blade unit, and a base that detached to serve as a lid. It is easy to disassemble and clean just don't submerge the power head. For empty nesters or singles, this is big enough to prepare the quanities we need without seeming like "shooting rabbits with a cannon." I shopped around and found that Amazon had the best price.

Honest reviews on Black & Decker EHC650B Ergo 3-Cup Food Chopper

Very handy product to have on hand, simple to use and easy to clean. However, since the motor is in the top portion of the chopper and you cannot run it under water to clean, it is a good idea to use plastic wrap. Just take a piece of plastic wrap and place it on the top of the chopper bowl, put a small hole in the middle and put the motor on the bowl. You only have to toss the plastic wrap when done, and put the bowl and blade in the dishwasher.

Two years ago I bought the Black & Decker KEC600 Cordless Can Opener. Another super highly recommended item. It is inexpensive, powerful, and convenient. It is cordless and sits in a reharging station, then you can take it to anywhere in the kitchen. After two years, the rechargeable battery finally started to get weak. So I ordered another one.

While browsing in the Black and Decker area, I came across this B&D Ergo 3 cup food chopper. Based on the reviews, I decided to give it a try. Now I don't know which one I like... no, love better. I use it to make fresh custom salad dressing. No more hand chopping garlic, now I fine chop it before sautéing for making sauce. The list is endless.

I have a 90 year old mother I take care of. When she complains about the food not being tender enough, I drop it in the chopper, the razor sharp blades spin at the slow or fast speed, and out comes a beautiful puree. A quick pop into the micro to freshen up the heating, and she loves it.

I'm ordering another chopper. Why? Because I don't ever want to go without it. Since it is a plug in the wall device, it wil probably last for 20 years. If mine gets dropped and breaks, I don't want to take a chance on not having one. Anything this good doesn't last. It is just too great of an item for such a little bit of money. Additionally, I like the fact that it comes with a removable flexible bottom, that doubles as a lid when you want to put your blendings in the refrig, without having to scoop them out.

One reviewer commented that they wish they would offer the bottom container as a separate item because it would be convenient, to have more than one. My logic is that for this kind of money, buy two. All bases are covered that way. The increased flexibility is worth it.

One other comment, worth mentioning, is that the top which houses the motor is easy to clean, even though their are those who complain, that it is not submersible. I have been washing mine by turning it upside down, soaping, and then running it under hot water, while spinning it around. The water pouring only hits the underdside of the center on out, and easily pours over the outer lip, without ever getting anywhere near the on off switch, or other sensitive to water areas. That makes even the top easy to clean. The rest of the chopper is submersible, or dish washer safe. Additionally the blade is easily removable from the base, simply by pushing down on it, while giving it a quarter turn. Up it pops, ready for removal and easy cleaning. Great for cleaning the 3 qt base also. No blades stuck in the bottom, making it difficult to clean.

The Black and Decker seems to be leading the pack with a three quart chopper, instead of the 1 1/2 qt like the competition. The 3 quart makes it large enough to not have to use a full size blender, yet small enough to use regularly, without the additional clean up. In addition it is a lot lighter to move around.

It is also attractively designed, and the buttons are ergonomically designed.

Overall I can't recommend this chopper enough. If your looking for something else to buy, to take advantage of Amazons minimum purchase amount to qualify for free shipping, consider buying the Black and Decker cordless can opener. The KEC600 model is the one that I have and is getting the better reviews.

I wanted a stock pot that wasn't stainless steel. All stainless steel pots burn the food onto the bottom of pot. Try cooking apples for applesauce or a large batch of tomatoes for spaghetti sauce. They all stick to the bottom of stainless steel an burn fast, resulting in black pieces in the sauce. I didn't have this problem with aluminum stock pot.

I've been looking for a roasting rack that would last solid stainless rather than chrome plate or Teflon coated. I ordered this in size small and it's just what I wanted. Sturdy, dishwasher safe, and the shape supports a roast or chicken nicely. The adjustable ones always collapse on me, I like that this is a solid one-piece unit. While designed to use with the Scanpan, the small fits my standard 9x13.5" stainless baking pan with a little space around it, and is sturdy enough to support any roast that would fit in the pan. I plan to get a larger one for my larger roasting pan, for the next time I cook a turkey.

Update Jan 2013 I finally got the larger size, they were out of stock when I tried before. The box gives the dimensions of the large as 17 1/4" x 12 1/2" x 3". I measure it at about 13 3/4 x 11 1/4 x 2 1/2". The smaller one I measure at about 10 1/4" x 7 3/4" x 2 1/4". The large is sturdy enough for a large turkey, which is what I was looking for.

The rack pictured is not the one you will get now. I have the original and waited a long time to order a second one. Imagine my surprise when the box showed the correct rack, but inside was a cheap imitation. It is square, flat and lightweight. It weighs half the weight of the original. It may be stainless steel and it may not. The original is a work of art and worth the price. I use it all the time. Sent the cheap imitation back. Tried twice; no luck. The picture in the listing is right, the picture on the box is right, but the rack is a very cheap imitation. Buyer beware!!! Have notified Amazon, but they have not corrected listing.

Amazon customer service was helpful and processed a refund and a pre-paid return label. Great service, but, still a disappointment. Also wish customer service was in the U.S. rather than outsourced.

Update: Picture now shows rack you will get. Thank you Amazon for putting correct image in listing.

Best Deals for Scanpan 18/10 Stainless Steel Roasting Racks

I expect that this will prove a useful and sturdy, little roasting rack. Note, however, that it is supposed to be a "large" rack. The dimensions on the box state that it is 17" x 12" x 3". The true dimensions are much closer to 13" x 11 1/2" x 3". The only dimension that measures 17" is the diagonal!

That said, it fits a Calphalon roasting pan. I like that the handles do not extend up (and beyond) the sides of the roasting pan. While it will make it difficult to raise the bird from the pan still sitting on the rack, it will make it much easier to use lifters to remove the bird from rack and pan.

Honest reviews on Scanpan 18/10 Stainless Steel Roasting Racks

I have used the rack five times to roast chickens. It is the most ergonomically comfortable and useful roasting rack I have ever used. The end handles make pulling the rack from the pan easy and safe. The rack cleans easily and fits easily in the dishwasher.

I wanted a sturdy, no-frills 2.5 quart saucepan and this turned out to be a good choice. The handle gets hot and is a too narrow to feel like you have an ideal grip, but in a pan this size, not really a problem. No pouring spout but the aluminum edge handles pouring better than expected. Goes in the oven, demands no special care. I'm happy!

Got this thing about an hour ago. Guess what, the company's sticker glued to the side

is six inches by four and impossible to remove. It comes out into tiny, tiny pieces and

the glue left behind, stays behind. If I can't remove it in the next hour, in the thrash it

goes !

I bought this pan because it is all aluminum and no Teflon coating. I wanted it to make sugar water for my humming bird feeders.

I use it, but have to use a dipper to remove the sugar water less I spill a lot of it. I have ordered a stainless steel pan with a pour spout from Amazon.com to replace this one. We'll see how that goes.

Also, beware of handle, it gets HOT.

Honest reviews on Winware Professional Aluminum Sauce Pans

Not at all impressed. I guess this is what we've come to either things that last a little while (i.e. made with cheap labor/materials) with a relatively low cost or (in the case of the All-Clad, which I want) priced into the stratosphere. I just have to think that there's got to be a Made in the USA 4 quart pan that is durable, attractive, well designed, etc., that people would buy somewhere in between $25 and $190 I know I would.. Would not buy this again, just too utilitarian and thoughtlessly designed.

I'm a single guy and searched around for an inexpensive cookware set (< $50) to support my simple minimilistic, single lifestyle. This set seerms to be the deal I need. Used my Amazon Prime membership 'next day' delivery ($3.99) and they arrived today. Each glass lid fits snug has a metal collared vent hole..I like that. The blue color I chose suits me. Bottoms are blue as well. The handles are comfortable and fit my adult male hand just fine. Thanks to my mother Jane; I -knowhow to cook...that is...carefully with moderate heat and mindfully. Many cookware set reviews on Amazon moan about warped pans and so on. I know better. I use low to medium heat ('frying' works on 'Medium' guys & gals!) and I closely monitor what the 'F' is going on whenever the range is in use. Frankly many folks are just impatient and thusly neglectful...so thier cookware sets suffer due to unintentional owner abuse. In 2012 people are too busy, too pressured and stressed-out. They have no patience. No time for such nonsense! The instructions caution about proper care and repeated detergent use..Most will throw the pamphlet out unread, then post a negative review. I have NOT used these pans yet. The 3 included utensils look fine and the turner has a nice beveled edge. I posted a product PIC so people can see the set on a 4 burner range. Pretty nice and I expect this set will show normal wear and tear same as a $200+ set by Paula or Rachel. (notice how much Rachel has changed?) The difference here is my 'cheap set' will never be abused or misused. Never improperly heated or improperly washed..I read the pamphlet. Single GUYS this is ALL the cookware you'll ever need!

UPDATE: Oct 8 2012

I've fixed Mac & Cheese twice and fried 4 burger patties using smaller sauce pan and skillet respectively.

Blue paint did not burn-off NOR did it emit toxic fumes as some ninny suggests...probably because I used medium heat to 'fry' and turned down the heat when my water for Mac & Cheese began to boil. Most users are not so mindful for whatever reasons. I am.

I took a gamble in buying these pots thinking they would be a quick solution to some kitchen issues. (I generally make a habit of seeing items in store before buying them online at all.) The Color splash Pots although aesthetically pleasing lack quality. It is shown in they're thinness and lack of ability with handling medium/high heats adequately. On the upside all the pots stack neatly inside one another so it is good in terms of storage. Good for someone moving into a small place and only cooking passively....but as for the rest of us? Best of luck-you'll need it.

Best Deals for Gibson Colorsplash Merville 10-Piece Cookware Set

Positives: The serving spoon, slotted spoon, and slotted turner are nice enough. The pans stack well inside each other. The lids have hole in them to vent the steam.

Negatives: Everything else. After only two weeks of light to moderate cooking, the bottom of the saucepan is burnt and discolored. The bottom of the saucepan was originally covered in the same paint as the sides and every time I cook, I smell the paint burning off. It is a rather toxic smell, definitely not appetizing. Food also sticks quite a bit to the surface of the sauce pan, so I find myself having to use more oil than I previously did. I will be getting rid of these pans asap. They are cheaply made and cannot handle heat well at all.

Honest reviews on Gibson Colorsplash Merville 10-Piece Cookware Set

These are not long term pots and pans. Good price and is holding me over until I can afford a better set. I cook daily and have used this for a few months now. I probably will have to replace mid next year I'm expecting. 3 stars for price to quality ratio.

My favorite frying pans are good old cast-iron, and I compared a cast-iron pan with the larger 10" Paula Deen. In each, I made an egg for an egg sandwich, meaning the egg needed to be flipped. Then I fried a frozen hamburger patty. Third, I made scrambled cheesy eggs (so the eggs had to be "stirred"). My comparisons:

LOOKS:

***** Paula Deen. These pans are simply gorgeous. I have the Blueberry Speckle, and it's a very pretty blue porcelain with a black non-stick interior.

**** Cast Iron. Even when it's new, there's nothing gorgeous about cast iron. Heft is its middle name.

HANDLES:

***** Paula Deen. The rubber-ized handle matches the blue exterior. It is non-slip and comfortable to hold. And, it doesn't get hot. You do have to be more careful that the handle doesn't wander over a heat source, though, as it would be damaged. The handle is solidly riveted to the pan with two rivets. It could come loose eventually or with banging around, but it isn't put together in a flimsy manner.

***** Cast Iron. The handle gets very hot, but it's also indestructible and part & parcel with the bowl of the pan. No separation anxiety.

HOW FOODS FRY:

The Paula Deen heats up a little faster than the cast iron, and cools down faster than the cast iron.

***** Paula Deen. No oil needed for either the eggs or the burger. The eggs cooked beautifully with no browning around the edges. If you LIKE a fried egg with crisp edges, then this may not be the pan for you. The burger browned nicely. Eggs and burger released for serving perfectly and smoothly.

**** Cast Iron. At least a minimum brushing of oil is needed for both eggs and the burger. Eggs more likely to brown unless you're watching carefully and use more oil. Burgers brown nicely. Food definitely doesn't slide off the pan like with a non-stick. The need for oil could be a concern if counting calories or watching cholesterol.

PAN STABILITY:

*** Paula Deen. Maybe it's because I'm used to my cast iron pans which I have in sizes both bigger and smaller than the Paula Deen 10" and 8". I have a gas stovetop, and I was annoyed when I couldn't flip the egg or flip the burger without holding onto the fry pan handle. When I tried to flip them one-handed, as I always do with the cast-iron pan, the Paula Deen pan skittered off to the side of the burner and the bowl tilted up (the handle tilted down). Perhaps you are saying, "Well, get a grip, and use the handle like you're supposed to." I'm not arguing with that, but I'm spoiled by the cast iron pans and I got annoyed.

Even just sitting on the stovetop, it is easier to tip than most pans. Maybe the handle is too heavy for the base.

The 10" pan, by my measurements, is: 9.75" diameter at the top rim; 6.5" diameter for the flat bottom; 7" handle.

The 8" pan, by my measurements, is: 8" diameter at the top rim; 5.5" diameter for the flat bottom; 6 1/8" handle length.

***** Cast Iron. Stays where you put it, whether you are flipping or stirring.

This fault is the reason I took one star off my overall rating of the two Paula Deen fry pans I have. The handle seems too heavy or the body is not heavy enough, to counterweight each other.

FRY TEMPERATURE:

**** Paula Deen. This is non-stick. Per the instructions that came with the fry pans, you can use "low to medium heat only". You cannot do a proper high-heat stir-fry in a non-stick pan. Due to the rubber-like handle, the Paula Deen fry pans are oven safe to only 350 degrees. However, these restrictions apply to all non-stick brands, so it wasn't a deduction from my overall rating. I've just deducted a star for this comparison.

Please also note that any PTFE non-stick pan has a caveat for cooking with "birds or small pets in or near the kitchen". The nonstick coating can "emit fumes harmful to birds", even if you are NOT using a high heat. In particular, though, smoke from burning foods or overheated oils (including butter) "will create dangerous fumes which a bird's respiratory system cannot handle". This is covered in the Paula Deen instructions that came with the fry pans.

***** Cast Iron. Can take any temperature you throw at it. This includes any oven temperature.

CLEANUP:

***** Paul Deen. Extremely easy clean-up. Definitely no soaking needed. Of course, you need to use no-scratch utensils when cooking and no abrasives when cleaning. The fry pans are not dishwasher safe.

Paula Deen pans have a lifetime warranty for "normal household use". This does not cover "damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse or commercial use. Scratches, stains, discoloration, damage from overheating or damage from use of automatic dishwasher are not covered."

***** Cast Iron. Maybe it's just because I'm used to it, but I find cast-iron easy to clean. A metal mesh scrubber and hot water takes off everything without hurting the pan. (You don't use soap on cast-iron, as the soap can be absorbed by the pan and affect the taste of food cooked afterwards.) Not dishwasher safe, as you'll get rust on it and it probably won't get all the food off it anyway. (Rust is just scrubbed off.)

Overall, the Paula Deen pans are lovely and work the way non-stick is supposed to work. I'm not throwing out my cast-iron, though!

We bought these after our Rachel Ray ones decided to give out on us. Not the inside of the Rachel Ray pans, but the outside of them started to strip away.

So I went looking for some inexpensive, but still nice pans to replace ours and found these. They are beautiful in person and we absolutely love them. After two months of solid use, we still have no issues. I'm just absolutely in love with these and so glad we purchased them.

After I ordered this griddle from Amazon, I read reviews of Emeril cookware, and was really scared. It seems the bottom of pans *melt*! It was too late to cancel my order (in this case Amazon sent my order through immediately), so when the griddle arrived, I tried it out right away. It worked great and was totally non-stick.

I concluded that the griddles are made differently than the pans, since they're one layer of anodized metal and don't melt like the pans do which have layers of different metals on the bottom. So no one needs to avoid buying this griddle. I compared the quality with griddles at Walmart, and it's heavier and of better quality. The griddle heats up fast and cooked my pancakes quickly, so there's no need to use high heat for cooking.

The instructions that came with the griddle did warn against melting aluminium, but I doubt that those instructions apply to the hard anodized griddles. Perhaps because of poor reviews of Emeril cookware, this griddle was heavily discounted, so the price was excellent, about 50 percent off list price.

I did some research and found the quote below about anodizing, so there's no worry about high heat with this griddle:

"Hard anodizing produces an extremely durable pan that has twice the hardness of stainless steel. This cookware has an extremely long lifespan and can resist abrasion and corrosion. The surface will not chip or peel and it can handle extremely high heat levels without damage to the finish."

I have several pieces from this line that were purchased over the past few years and have not been disappointed in any of them. This piece is so light weight. It slides all over my cook top. Not good for baby-on-the-hip, one-handed cooking. Today I was making pancakes on this griddle and realized is had warped. I've had the pan since December and have not put it in the dishwasher. So I'm not sure why it warped. Anyway, disappointed in this piece...

My Wife and I received this "griddle" for a wedding gift. We had to return it because of warping....

I cook eggs every morning so I used this pan only as my "egg" pan. It survived the first 30 days of cooking eggs. Then it slowly started to warp. It has warped a 1/4" high in the middle. Returning it to Macy's was no problem. BUT now...Macy's stopped carrying it.

I CONTACTED CUSTOMER SUPPORT TWICE to get a required RMA #....So far, it's been two weeks and I haven't heard back from them.

Emerilware should be Illegal....It's simply ripping off the consumer.

Honest reviews on Emeril by All-Clad E9191364 Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Inch Square

This is the second square griddle I've owned thus far, the first being an Anolon one which has lost all of its non stick properties and is warped(bowed out in the center area). This one seems to be going the way of the first. The non stick properties are ok so far (as is with most non sticks in the first six months of use), but the originally flat surface has "bloated" up in the center to the point where liquid will run to the sides and cooking pancakes and sunnyside up eggs has become a bit tricky. Might be my fault(or might not be?) as I used it a few times on med-high heat on the gas range to sear meat, but still disappointing for it to warp so.

Also on a purely cosmetic note, the pan looks really cheap(to where I wouldn't have paid its price if I saw it on a store shelf). The handle in Amazon's picture looks shiny(like 18/8 stainless) but in reality it has a dull stamped metal look to it(because it is:). Sure it doesn't affect the cooking but it also doesn't add to buyer satisfaction.

I don't think it's an especially great deal at it's current $25 price.

While I really liked this fry pan initially, I am disappointed with the anodized finish on it. I have had it now for about 2 years and the finish has not held up. I would like to find a non-stick finish that holds up.

I just found a fry pan, which was Anolan Advanced. I have enjoyed using it so far. The Emeril fry pan went in the garbage. I did find out that it is Martha Stewart who put out this piece of junk fry pan... I thought it was Emeril.

This product is made of pine and will most likely warp and rot over time. A hangiri made of cyprus would be unlikely to warp or rot.....ever. Cyprus hangiri are also much more expensive but will last forever. You get what you pay for.

This is not a real Hangiri. It is a cheap knockoff. The copper bands are merely decorative and immediately fell off as I took it out of the package. While it is still functional, the question is how long will the glue last thats holding this thing together. Dont waste your money here if your buying this for making sushi rice.

This sushi bowl was purchased for my mom's birthday. We weren't sure if this product would measure up to the one we got from Japan over 30 years ago. It's a perfect match and works great. It's the quality of the wood that helps make perfect sushi rice and this product is excellent. The shipping was great, arriving before the specified delivery date and no damage at all.

I certainly recommend this bowl for when making sushi. It is great for cooling rice rapidly to give it that shiny appearance. It also helps remove any extra moisture to allow the rice to stick together.

We registered for these for our wedding with a lot of hesitation because they were very expensive and didn't have any reviews at the time; however, we are more than thrilled with the quality of them! We have used them a ton, and they are still fabulous! I have been meaning to get on here and write a review for months it just kept slipping my mind! I would definitely suggest these, after all you get what you pay for and although these are pricy, they are the best! :)

Cleaning tip: They come with one cleaner, and I bought another cleaner because I didn't realize it came with one. I have only used the cleaner it came with once, I use King Clean every time I clean them and they are still as shiny and new looking as ever!

...since I am hardly an expert in stuff like this, I researched everything I could find about it and after I gave it to my wife (who knows a LOT about this stuff) for Christmas, she said she'd love me forever!

I'll take her word for it about both things!

Honest reviews on Mauviel M'heritage 150s 6100.04 10-Piece Set with Cast Stainless

I really wanted a new cookware set and I was looking for the best one out there. I did not want to limit myself by any price limits, I just simply wanted the best. After many sleepless nights due to my extensive research I decided to get this set based on the facts that it was made in France (French know how to cook, right), it was high quality copper (and copper supposed to be the best one for cooking), and it was a reputable brand. When the set arrived, it was absolutely beautiful you can leave it out and admire the beauty. I was in love with it from the 'first sight'. When I started to take every item out of the box, I noticed that the bigger items were very heavy (I am not a big woman and I have small hands). I decided to test the largest sauce pan and boil some potatoes. The water got hot very fast and the potatoes were ready in 15 minutes great! However, when I wanted to drain the water out, this is when the harsh reality settled.

First, the top handle gets so hot that you cannot take the top off with you bare hands.

Second, the pot (now filled with water) is so heavy that I had to hold it with both hands. The bigger challenge is the beautifully designed handles with sharpe ridge that are very slippery. I could not pour out the water holding the pot with one hand and holding a lid with another. I could not even pour out the water with both hands I bruised my hand and now have a blue sore palm.

Third, when I gently washed the pot immediately and dried it, I noticed a line from the water and white spots on the bottom of the pot. If I only used it once, what will happen in a year?

I am crushed and disappointed. I read so many reviews, my eyes were tired. I thought I am getting the best set, but now I am going to return it. Very sad it is not worth the money.

These lids might deserve a 5 star but the description was inadequate. I purchased them assuming they'd fit a canning jar. They do not. If you want to save a nifty jar from purchased jelly or mustard or whatever, these should be really neat.

The insert that comes with the jars has a more accurate description: "These caps are made to fit jars from the "Twist Off" standard. The twist off standard is a world wide standard that is used for food jars wtih metal or plastic screw caps. Twist off jars can be recognized by two or more screw thread lugs on the neck of the jar. In this set we have selected the most common sizes used in the glass jar industry."

This is a really clever idea. I just wish they made some to fit the many canning jars I use in place of plastic containers.

I had been coveting these jar lids for about a year when my husband found them in my wish list and bought them for me for Christmas. Now that they've been with us for about 6 months, I feel that my opinion is worth offering to potential buyers. I agree that these are great-looking ways to extend the life of a regular jar that might otherwise go into the recycling.

However, I haven't had much luck finding jars that will fit the "industry standard" in the description so far, I've found that the middle cap (the goofy looking one with the little spout that sticks up, but with a shallow base, pictured on the front row right in the product photo) fits on several jars I've tried roasted red peppers and tahini, to be specific. The sifter top fits on a small, squat jar, kind of resembling a Greek amphora, that used to hold jarred peaches. The cap with the long handle only fits, so far, on a jar of Biscoff that I bought only because I thought it might fit (I thought I had a chance because Biscoff is European, and none of my US food jars would do the trick). The other two the other, fatter "spout" cap and the open top with a pourer lip? I haven't found one jar to match, despite trying every single jar I've encountered for the last six months (and trust me, we have a lot of jars tahini? Biscoff? these are not jars commonly found in the average US rural/suburban household.)

So here's my point. I think this is a great idea and for the jars I've managed to find, they work great sturdy plastic material, nice seal, easy to clean. To improve this product, I think they should come in a range of sizes (how about pourer caps to fit 2", 3" or 4" diameter jars, for example) and sell them individually based on what the consumer wants or needs. As things stand, as much as I want to use my remaining two orphaned caps, for now they're languishing in pantry, just waiting for me to find the magical jar that matches this mystery "industry standard." And, as another reviewer pointed out, caps to fit canning jars (industry STANDARD canning jars, regular and wide mouth), wouldn't be the worst thing either.

I bought these to use with some beautiful honey jarsand they work a treat. I am so pleased. You won't be able to use them on everything, but it's great to have them around for those jars that are just too cool to throw away. I also LOVE the idea of using these on disposable jars outsideso if the thing falls off onto the patio and gets broken, I won't really carebecause it's not a super expensive item.

These jar tops may be wonderful if you save old glass jars from commercial products, but they do NOT fit regular or wide mouth Mason jars which was the whole purpose of purchasing the things.

I bought these thinking I could use at least 1 on a spaghetti sauce size jar. So far the (I think it is 1 of the lids)only jar the lids fit is a jelly jar from Polaner all fruit jelly 15.25 oz jar. It is a great idea and I wish they made these for bigger jars. I love using glass. No chemical reaction with food. I bought the green. It is sort of a dark Olive color. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of small jars or uses for this just yet anyway.
