Buy Metalware/Nesco TR-2 Add-A-Trays for Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator

Nesco TR-2 Add-A-Tray for FD-1010/FD-1018P/FD-1020, Set of 2

Only four of these Nesco American Harvest Trays came with my Nesco FD1020 Gardenmaster Dehydrator. I was only able to make 1.5 pounds of beef jerky strips with four trays. Since my dehydrator can dry 20 trays of food, I knew I had to buy more. If you only need two of these, by all means get it from Amazon. However, if you need a dozen to increase your dehydrator's capacity (like I did when I first bought my FD1020), check out Sears online. You can get a 12-pack for under ninety dollars. That's about seven dollars and fifty cents each tray. You'll be a lot happier with your dehydrator's capacity!

Pros:

It Fits.

The color matches.

Cons:

Has only 80 ribs instead of 144 (like the original); this makes the screen noticeably flimsier, and will allow small pieces of food to fall through.

With the original screen, the biggest end of the opening is about 5 mm wide; with the Add-A-Tray, that gap is more than doubled, to 11 mm (enough to get a fingertip through).

I thought the price was already too high, but in the 10 days since I ordered it, the price has gone up another five and a half percent.

The center ring is different; it allows the screens to deflect more (if you were to drop the lid on them or something)--just another chance to break.

Why was it necessary to redesign them to save 5¢ worth of plastic? Why can't they simply sell ones identical to the original (which is what you would expect to get)?

I'm not sending it back, but I'm glad I didn't buy ten. I'm a little reluctant to give it two stars instead of one because I know things are going to fall through the larger openings.

October 19, 2013 update:

Increased rating from 2 stars to 3 because it's been working OK.

Best Deals for Metalware/Nesco TR-2 Add-A-Trays for Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator

It will work in the 1020 but it is not the correct tray to match the origionals. It does not have the locking tangs in the outside rim to lock tray in place the the center is half th height of the origional and does not match the serated edges on the 1020 OEM trays. It may be perfect for the 1010 and 1018 but I am not familiar with thiose units but it is not the correct unit for the FD-1020

Honest reviews on Metalware/Nesco TR-2 Add-A-Trays for Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator

Could fit a better with the older version trays, but it works. Less mesh work, which while allows for quicker drying, is more flexible and will get 'unlevel'. But works fine.

We ordered two new trays and screens. The new trays are terrible compared to the originals that came with our FD-1000. The new trays are not as strong and feel like they will break very easily. They no longer have the tall center post, strong ribs and have fewer ribs.

We called NESCO and they said this is their new design. The old design is no longer available. We are very dissatisfied with the new design.

I ordered this pan, thinking it'd be perfect for melting chocolate, but this pan can't be used on glass or ceramic stovetops. Just be aware of that limitation before you order!

Amazon needs to be more descriptive of this product. It says right on the label not to use on a glass cooktop, no where is this mentioned in Amazon's description of the product. It looks like a nice pan, but it needs to go back. Lots of people are using glasstop ranges, these days. Amazon, please update your description of this product.

I have never double boiled anything and this product leads me to believe it's easy because I was able to melt my chocolate effortlessly and cleanup was a breeze. I love the sturdiness and yet it's so so light at the same time. I would buy more pots from this brand and style.

Honest reviews on Granite Ware 6150-4 1.5-Quart Double Boiler

This is great! It was perfect for dipping cherries. Anything bigger would not have worked as well. It reminds of the roaster my mom used to have. It is the same material. I am sure to have years of use from this.

I got this for my wife as she likes her milk warm-hot for her coffee in the mornings. Well if you have ever done this you know that milk will boil over and cause a huge mess. After witnessing this 50 + times and knowing a double boiler would do the trick I finally found one reasonably priced for what we needed it for. It works perfect and have yet to have anything boil over and mess up the stove. Lightweight for sure, not for the "Williams -Sonoma" kitchen but great for the normal people in the world.

The pouring shield is a definite convenience on my mixer, making it easy to add both wet and dry ingredients without stopping the mixing process and raising the beater, whisk, or dough hook. It removes extremely easily from the bowl once you figure the trick of getting it on an off, and it cleans quickly with a swipe of hot, soapy water or a run through the dishwasher, much like all Kitchen Aid mixer attachments.

I'm a little torn on the rating. I'd like to give it four stars, but I've only given the shield three stars because of a few inconveniences listed below. I'm happy it came free of charge with my mixer and I would probably buy another if mine ever became damaged. For someone without the pouring shield, I would certainly recommend they consider buying it, but with the following things kept in mind...

I've found that when making anything, be it bread or cookies or whathaveyou, you really should consider adding absolutely no more than 1/2 cup (dry US measure) of ingredients at a time to the bowl. Best if you add less to the bowl a few more times. Every time I've made bread, if I try adding 1/2 cup flour or more during the last mixing stage, even the low speed of 2 results in ingredients splattered up onto and under the pouring shield.

In addition, the convenient separability of the pouring shield can fast become an inconvenience if you're not careful. If anything splashes, I've found that it splashes right into the little hinges that make the pouring shield separateable from itself. Once your ingredients are in the hinges, they're down the side of the bowl, onto your countertop, and probably onto you.

I've gotta say, I really think this thing is more trouble than its worth. My mom bought this for me, and it rarely got used. Somewhere along the line, she forgot she gave me the first one, and bought me another one. So the older one sits in the cupboard looking very lonely keeping the second one company still in its box. Here's why: first off, the shield comes in two sections, and they aren't all that easy to attach to one another. Now you would think that if they don't go together easily, at least they'd STAY together, right? Nope. Mine keep coming apart. Now, if you get the bowl pretty full, say with a double batch of chocolate chip cookie dough, forget it the thing is utterly useless. Once the dough rides up in the bowl, the shield becomes dislodged, making you want to chuck it out the nearest window. I like that it keeps the flour out of the entire kitchen if you add it while the mixer is going but it gets stuck in the little "ramp" anyway, making you shove it all down with a rubber scraper. It would also be nice for something liquid and particularly sloppy. But all in all, I find it a waste of time and money. Fortunately it was my mom's money, not mine. (By the way, she has one and loves it. Can't figure out WHY exactly, because she has the same complaints I do. She just must like washing a couple more dishes...) If you want to spend money on a USEFUL Kitchenaid accesory, buy an extra bowl one with a handle, and a set of lids.

Best Deals for KitchenAid KPS2CL Pouring Shield for 4-1/2 and 5-Quart Stand Mixers

This is a cool feature for this mixer.

I use it with mashed potatoes and chocolate chip cookies. It is essential, if you want to whip mashed potatoes and keep them in the bowl. With chocolate chip cookies the batter is so thick if you didn't have this on when you were adding the chips, they would wind up in orbit.

I find this guard easy to put on and easy to use.

The ramp for ingredients makes it handy to add stuff on the fly. It would be nicer if this feature had a wider opening and was steeper angled. I find I often had to push stuff down it. Also, when adding flour from another bowl, it was tricky to narrow the flow down enough to meet the width of this chute opening.

My pouring shield did not come with the mixer, I bought it separate, at that time for $14.00, which I thought was pretty pricey for a piece of plastic. However, when you use a mixer of this capability, you really need it.

Occassionally, if you over fill the bowl, it will lift this guard right off. It is held on by gravity alone, which generally is enough. It is a guard, not something that makes the mixer idiot proof and sometimes I'm that idiot that pushes the limit.

UPDATE:

I posted this review over 10 years ago...Yikes. But, I stand corrected. Technically the shield does not stay in place by gravity alone. If you have the right and left sections properly assembled, there is a snug fit with the top of the bowl. However, this is only that; a snug fit and gravity keeping this shield in place. Heavy batter or a fuller bowl can relatively easily lift this shield up. I find the shield mostly keeps in just added flour which has a tendency to fly up. The chute on the shield is most helpful when gradually adding ingredients. You need to use a spatula, to get that last bit in the bowl though. Since this addition is so much later than my previous review, I would like to point out, both shield and mixer are still going strong.

Honest reviews on KitchenAid KPS2CL Pouring Shield for 4-1/2 and 5-Quart Stand Mixers

Got this item for my mixer but it doesn't work as well as I thought it would. Of course, as my husband says, I can't boil water without destroying the kitchen so it could be just me...

I like that the shield comes apart in two pieces; I can store it inside the mixer bowls when not in use, I sometimes forget the shield before I start but can hook it on without having to remove the beater and, in two pieces, it fits in the dishwasher better for clean up.

However, it is tricky to hook it together if don't put it on 'before' you start mixing -taking it off is a breeze though. For me, the opening is still on the narrow side so that I usually spill down at least one side (especially flour) although not nearly as much as before. And often you have to push the ingredients off the spout into the bowl with a spatula.

If you are a super messy cook like me then this item may be good for you. If you're not then I wouldn't bother with it at all.

I used this "Pouring Shield" before my sister (who owned the kitchenAid mixer) moved out, and now I'm deciding whether to buy a KA mixer of my own, but in any case, I don't think I will purchase this "Pouring Shield". I ran into two problems with this product: 1, It comes apart too easily, which can be a nuisance when trying to lift it temporarily so as to reach in with a spatula to scrape down any unmixed ingredients from the sides of the bowl. And 2, it has an inexplicable gap in the lip at the back of the shield which allows stuff to spray out the back onto the mixer, the surrounding counter and the bottom of the cabinets over the mixer. (The gap seems inexplicable to me because it's not as if the edge of the bowl is anywhere near to touching the post of the mixer).

Now, my mother has had a KA mixer since I was in high school and it had a "Pouring Shield" that was in one piece (thus eliminating the falling apart problem) and it didn't have that gap in the lip at the rear, so it worked very well for our purposes. I wish the KitchenAid company would start making the old ones again.

I wanted a four-quart pot with a handle for cooking pasta--but not a "stock pot" with two small handles on either side. This pot is wonderful--since it is the Farberware classic style. YOU CAN FIND A REPLACEMENT LID (without a hole) to fit this pot through JCPenney, search for replacement lid, and select the 8 inch size. The lid comes from the manufacturer "Farberware" and while it is not the "classic" style, it fits great.

I've used this kind of deep-fryer a lot; it's the kind my mother used when I was growing up. I have lots of Farberware, so I know I will love it. When I first bought my Farberware 4-qt. saucepan, there was a choice of the long handle or two small ones. I bought the one with two small handles and I've always been sorry I didn't get the other kind. I've been looking for one for a long time, and was told Farberware didn't make them anymore (all they have now are the ones with two handles). So now--I'll get the pan I want, and a deep fryer to boot, and if the hole in the top is a problem, I've already got one without a hole. And, if you've ever bought Farberware, you know that this is a great price on a great product.

I was dissapointed to see that the lid has a big hole in it so that you can't make rice in the pan for example. And they won't sell you a separate solid lid.

If my mathematical skills are wrong, someone please correct me so that I can change this rating. The description of this item on Amazon gives the size as 11 by 11 by 6. Another site gives it a diameter of 11 inches and height of 6 inches. Thus, I was expecting the width across the center to be 11 inches. To my disappointment it is only 8 inches (6 inches deep), not even wide enough for the hot dogs I buy to fit without bending slightly.

I was hesitant to pay this much for a single skillet, but I decided to take a chance. I'm extremely happy with the purchase. The skillet is very thick and heats evenly. I use it mostly for cooking eggs & omelets. It's not coated with a non-stick material, but a small amount of butter or cooking spray goes a long way. The 8" skillet works well for 2-egg and small 3-egg omelets, but anything bigger would requite a larger skillet.

As far as I'm concerned, this skillet was worth the price. I don't think I could get a skillet as thick and even-heating for less money.

I have always wanted a cast iron enameled dutch oven but as with many people could not justify the price of the leading French brand (even at the outlet!) I carefully researched this product & others for several months, and after much pondering, decided to order this from Amazon (try and find it at a lower price with FREE shipping, it is just NOT possible)

I have been using this for a month now & decided that I should post a review for all those other folks trying to decide if the cheaper one is "just as good" My simple answer is "YES!!!"...... I have used this for EVERY crockpot/slow cooker recipe & it has performed MUCH better than any electric slow cooker that I have ever owned! So good, that I have gotten rid of my electric slow cooker forever, this is soo much more versatile. Good cooking is all about having the right tool, well this one has been missing from my kitchen until now. I have cooked roasts, BBQ, soups, chili etc it all comes out perfect EVERY time! I have even used for making really sticky things, like rice crispy treats, easiest cleanup ever.

I will go over a few key points.....

-follow the directions for use, someone took the time to write them, let's respect the author

-yes it does take a little while to heat up BUT it retains that temp for hours & quite consistently

-let it cool completely before washing & HAND wash it, yes it is heavy but clean up really is a breeze. Soak in some warm soapy water & voila!

-you can use this stove top or oven

-beautiful handle on top is VERY functional & easy to grip

-side handle are wide & easy to grip as well

-maybe only "complaint" would be MAKE more colors to compete with the"other brand"

If you are "on the fence" about buying a "cheaper" enameled cast iron dutch oven, don't hesitate ANY longer, get this one & you won't be disappointed!

No I can't afford the expensive dutch oven I might have wanted. That's true.

However I could afford this for my birthday last year. It's now over 8 months later. I've used this wonderful thing several times.

I've confronted it with gentle care and accidental neglect. It's held up to all my use admirably.

First of all... the color is pretty true to the picture. It's beautiful. A mix of lime-green and olive-green to create, apparently, a bright, glorious apple-green color.

Mine arrived with a few minor flaws which I documented with photos in case it got worse over time. These were essentially cosmetic but could be potential weak spots for chipping later.

This thing is heavy as all quality dutch ovens are going to be... but I can lift it adequately, even filled with many pounds of meat and vegetables.

I find this bakes things beautifully. For whatever reason there is a bit of sticking when I use it on my stove top, I always use it on the correct heat settings but I do cook with less oil than the average cook probably does. It has never once caused an issue though.

I love how easily it goes from stove to oven. I love how huge it is. It holds a lot of food. The lid is snug and secure. The handle I thought was beautiful but was nervous about how it would be to hold such a curvy thin handle. I found it to be surprisingly comfortable. Only once when I was in a rush was it even mildly difficult to hold.

This is a really great product and I'd recommend it to anyone. I did a lot of reviewing and extensive product comparison before I purchased this Lodge L Series Enamel 6 Qt Dutch Oven and I found that this had the best ratio of price, enamel layers, quality workmanship and customer service. I did write Lodge before I ordered this and all of my questions were answered. I read through the Care Info before using this and I'm glad I did. I now only use wooden and soft silicon utensils with this and do not scratch it. This precious thing is washed and dried lovingly by hand and is a lovely bright bit of Green on my shelf. I have to say... if I had a million dollars I might just buy Lodge again.

Before I purchased this, when contacting customer service, I discussed a review about a customer having issues returning a faulty or damaged Lodge product that was purchased from Amazon.com and they assured me that they were VERY willing and able to accept those kinds of returns if there was an issue. I feel confident that if I had a problem, Lodge would do what it takes to make sure I'm satisfied.

If you want this product to last and last... take care of it because your children could easily be using this dutch oven long after you're gone from this Earth.

Honest reviews on Lodge L Series E6D50 Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven, Apple Green

I am not going to go into detail of all the pros and cons of this pan. I think they are well listed by the other reviewers however, if you are looking for this pan and wondering why the price has jumped drastically, it is because Lodge has temporarily discontinued the "L" Series (enameled cast iron) and the "Signature" Series (cast iron with stainless accents). You will not find these again till they re-introduce them with new look and design tentatively late 2013. So if you love the signature series buy them while you can or wait till they come back. I personally dont recommend the "L" series over the "Color" series which is not being discontinued but if you really wanted an "L" series get it while you can. (EXCEPTION: the apple pots are not being discontinued)

I'm so disappointed in this dutch oven. I received it as a wedding gift, love the green color, and use it about once a week. Despite my careful care (handwash only), after two years it has several one inch chips to the outside green enamel on the bottom. This was usable (despite the fact it was starting to rust) until a one inch piece of enamel chipped off on the inside cooking surface with flaking edges. This dutch oven isn't even that much of a bargain at over $100 dollars. Spend a little more and buy a better pot, this one will not last.

I make some types food that involves frying both sides evenly. This pan has made it very easy for me.

There are two problems with the design, two pans are not separable which makes washing difficult, and oily stuff comes of the hole at the back of the pan and it makes stove dirty. Except for this minor problems, this pan is very well built and the quality is good.

But the oil that leaks out when you flip pan makes a mess on stove and pan is somewhat heavy for someone like myself who has bad arthritis in hand. All in all, I love the pan and don't know why they have jumped so much in price. I guess supply and demand like everything else.

Wish I bought the whole set. By far the best I ever owned. The first best pots that I owned was All Clad. These are much better and esthetically beautiful. They are solid but at the same time not as heavy as you would think. The glass lid is great. It does not fit tight, so do not be surprised. It is not locked in place. You can hang the lid on the pot as your cooking or stirring your food and prevent condensation drips on your cook top. That spells less cleaning and it is so convenient. The handles stay cool and they are attached to the pots exterior not the interior.

I had been searching for the ideal vessel to hold kosher salt on my kitchen counter, and this petite casserole is sturdy enough to do the trick. I was disappointed that this item isn't made in France like other Le Creuset products -it's from southeast Asia -but it still captures the essential Le Creuset style and adds some welcome color against my dark granite countertops.

I ordered this item with some trepidation as it was not well reviewed. My sense was the reviews were the result of initial color mis-shipments and it turns out that I received the blue item I ordered.

To be sure, it is barely larger than an ashtray but the design and color perfectly match other Le Creuset pieces. It would be good for custards or condiments or servings of fruit, vegatables, custard or pudding (yes, I know this is not conventional). Basically it is well priced for a quality product. It show both utility and decor. And earns its five stars.

Best Deals for Le Creuset Stoneware Petite Casserole

I love Le Creuset cookware and when I discovered these little 8 ounce pots, I knew they would fill many uses. These petite stoneware covered pots are oven-proof, so you can bake individual dishes in them such as custards, pies and tarts, rice and pasta dishes. I also serve soups in them hot or cold. The lid helps retain the temperature of the contents. I also serve cheese spreads, hummus, and many other condiments or sauces in these little pots. You can create a tray of appetizers, snacks, and hors d'ouvres, using one or several different colored pots on a tray amid crackers and bread or whatever you choose. I have all the colors Le Creuset makes. On the Fourth of July I prepared a simple "red, white, and blue" presentation of dips and salsas. Whether you serve a group of food items or individual servings, the size is right. You will love these versatile little containers.

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Stoneware Petite Casserole

As an admitted Le Creuset devotee, this was a little splurge to store sea salt in while keeping it covered next to the stovetop. However, since receiving this charming little casserole, I can see the potential for all sorts of culinary uses for it as it is basically a very large ramekin with handles and a lid. I plan on ordering the 4-piece-set with cookbook as they are the perfect size to serve individual portions of oven-prepared dishes such as au gratin potatoes, apple/cherry crumble or french onion soup(at 8 ounce capacity, I would call this size a "cup" rather than a "bowl" of soup). It's also a great size for serving oatmeal in the morning for the kids! (Note that this is stoneware and not the cast iron version, so it is for oven use only and not for stovetop). Overall, a great little investment for a quality product with so many uses, especially if you like to serve smaller individual dishes at times. A nice addition to your Le Creuset collection!

There have been many good suggestions for using this adorable little pan, but I use mine daily to cook my steel-cut oatmeal. I can cook and eat out of the same pan, and if I am called away from my meal for any time, I cover it up with the lid to retain the heat. All of my cookware is Le Creuset, so obviously I'm a big fan of the brand. This little piece is so cute and so helpful for many things. Just love it.

The top/lid piece has a thin (approx 1-1.5 mm) encapsulated aluminum disc on its bottom and can be used by itself as an oval skillet on the stove top or as a shallow roasting/broiler pan in in the oven. The top piece inverts to be used as a lid on the bottom pan. The bottom pan has a much thicker encapsulated aluminum disc on its bottom. Note: neither aluminum disc is encapsulated in magnetic stainless steel so neither will function on an induction stove top but will work fine in the oven. The oval shaped wire rack is solidly built and has swinging lift arms which rest against the handle sides of the roasting pan when raised. These arms also have notches built into them which allows the rack to be raised about 3 inches above the bottom of the roasting pan and locked there by hooking the arm notches onto the top lip/edge of the bottom roasting pan. This allows drainage after roasting or better air circulation (and browning) while roasting. If used for elevated roasting in this way the top lid will not fit. Pretty cool rack feature.

The top and bottom pieces have riveted hollow tube handles. The approximate interior dimensions of the bottom pan are 16.75"Lx11"Wx5.75"H. The top pan's interior dimensions are slightly smaller and it's approximately 2.75" high. The exterior dimensions with the lid on are approximately 21"L (w/ handles) x 12"W x 9"H. The bottom pan had a slight wobble on my smooth top stove which actually flattened out when the pan was preheated to sear the roast I cooked in it. Searing worked well. The top piece had almost no wobble and fit the bottom piece well as a lid. This roaster works well as a giant dutch oven. Good product at a great price.

Just received my Precise Heat roaster, opened it, and it is absolutely what I had hoped for! Being very particular, I had searched all over town for a stainless steel roaster with lid and rack. What I found in the local stores (and I live in a large city) was totally unacceptable. It is easy to see that it will be extremely functional, it's the perfect size for me, and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I now cook only with stainless steel, and this roaster is a perfect match with my other cookware. Typically, the turkey comes out of the oven with "company" watching me. I'll be proud to "show off" this Thanksgiving with my new roaster! To add to my my pleasure, it was received on the seventh day after I purchased it. You won't go wrong if you buy this product. As a matter of fact, I'm ordering one for my daughter this morning!

This is large enough for the biggest ham or turkey and is heavy and of great quality. Of special importance to me is how easy it is to clean. I wish I had purchased something like this years ago.

I purchased two of these pans, one as a gift. I have a small house and like having one quality pan which can perform several tasks ( same reason why I love Emile Henry FlameTop). The base and cover can both be used in the oven or on two burners. The internal, removable rack can be adjusted to several heights. Besides using the pan for baking and roasting, it also makes an excellent steamer for a lot of vegetables or seafood. The cover, also, is beautiful enough to be used as a platter for the table or to serve appetizers or a salad.

This roasting pan with lid is phenomenal quality. It is heavy but very well made. We were looking for a large pan for our 20# turkey and came across this pan. Decided to give it a shot even though the wife was hesitant to spend this much on an unknown when she could have bought an enameled pan. Don't regret it one bit. This pan helped our turkey come out perfectly moist, even in the white meat. This pan comes with the roasting rack but to make lifting off the turkey, I recommend a set of poultry forks. The pan cleaned up easily by hand though I believe the instructions say that a dishwasher cleaning is acceptable also. We left the pan to soak overnight in the sink and washed it out in the morning with no scrubbing. You will be impressed by the overall quality of this pan. There is just enough space between the lid and pan to allow you to insert a meat thermometer but not so much that the heat escapes. Great pan no regrets at all. Can't wait to use it again for a smaller turkey or ham.

I purchased this cookware when I made plans to have a new induction cooktop installed because my Swiss Diamond pan for conventional cooktops was my very favorite pan I've ever owned. I am not disappointed! It heats evenly and cleans up like a dream!

I wrote the Swiss Diamond company and asked for an explanation of what the nano-composite material was made of.

After a week or so, I received a polite reply from Allan Wolk, an employee in the U.S. His email informed me that, "Our patented nonstick surface uses a nano-composite of real diamond crystals and PTFE; it is applied using a computer controlled plasma gun at very high temperatures."

Naturally, my attention was immediately drawn to the PTFE. The acronym sounded familiar. What was PTFE?

A quick search of Wikipedia provided the answer: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PTFE)

As Wikipedia explains:

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a fluoropolymer discovered by Roy J. Plunkett (1910-1994) of DuPont in 1938. It was introduced as a commercial product in 1946 and is generally known to the public by DuPont's brand name Teflon®.

Huh? Teflon? Wait a minute. Didn't the Swiss Diamond website just claim that the product contained no Teflon?

If you look back at the Swiss Diamond website screen capture, the careful wording of their answer now becomes clear. It states, "The Swiss Diamond coating does not contain any Teflon taking into consideration that "Teflon" is a trade mark, made and owned by DUPONT."

So the pans don't contain Teflon, they just contain the chemical called Teflon. It's like saying a nuclear warhead doesn't contain any plutonium, it only contains nuclear fissionable material.

For the manufacturer to insist the Swiss Diamond pans contain no Teflon whatsoever when it is made primarily from polytetrafluoroethylene, the chemical widely known as Teflon, is extremely deceptive. In fact, the intent of the Swiss Diamond company seems to be to deceive consumers by omission of the facts. The FAQ document on the Swiss Diamond website, for example, does not bother to say something like, "But our pans do contain PTFE, the chemical known as Teflon." It simply insists they contain no Teflon and moves on to the next question.

It seems that Swiss Diamond goes out of its way to give the impression that this product is free of Teflon chemicals and is surfaced primarily with diamonds. That's the impression I got, anyway, and I read the promotional materials several times before purchasing the pan.

Consumers have been hoodwinked yet again by corporations who care nothing for human health, and whose only focusing is raking in millions for themselves.

When you look at the price you may think they must use real diamonds. Not so! It is cast aluminum. This is an excellent non stick induction pan. It takes a high quality pan to function properly on an induction stove top. Quality induction cooking produces incredible flavor. The non stick property does last for a few years but not forever. Aluminum cookware always makes me somewhat leery. If aluminum ever leeches into your food in can be a toxin.
