I have been looking for a cast iron kettle for months for my conduction cooktop and wow I finally found one. Unlike other cast iron tea kettle but the ones I found were always painted "tea pots" and the paint burned off.

This one is perfect. It is absolutely the right size, 1 qt, and heats like a dream. The handle is great, no need for pot holders. I would strongly recommend this tea kettle for those that want a no maintence kettle unlike many of the other tea kettles on the market. It's great.

Still needs to be seasoned inside and outside. I had to season mine, 3 times. The seasoning it came with, does help.

Will last forever, if it's seasoned, right. Don't let water stand in it though.

I like this kettle. It is easy to use and to clean, the cast is a good quality. The design is solid and practical, like the size. Could be just a little bit lighter and less expensive.

I purchased a cookbook the Steamy Kitchen Cookbook by Jaden Hair. In this book she reviews the various types of woks and how to select the correct design for your stove. She highly recommended a cast iron wok and when I was looking through Amazon's options this wok stood out because it is not only functional, but the enameled outside, makes it a stunning piece of cookware. I've never cooked with cast iron and found that this wok is perfect for the Asian cooking I am learning. Heat distribution is even. The lid actually works for steaming and there is a rack that can be used to keep the food warm, while cooking other items. The wok is very heavy just be aware of that fact and you will love your new wok.

I cook Chinese food everyday so wok is my most important cookware. Had purchase many nonstick wok through the year but always end up buying different wok the next time because the nonstick surface either peel or scratch later. I decided to give this one a try. I just love it! It is very heavy so it's kind of hard to wash but it balance good when I stir fry, I don't need to hold the handle as I cook or pour the food in the plate, and it works very good for stir fry. I'm not good with word in English, but I can say this is the BEST wok I've ever own.

I've had this (or maybe an earlier version) for around 10 years(?), and it's fantastic. It's solid, very heavy (doesn't move even with vigorous use on a smoothtop), cleans up well (avoid soap!), even looks nice. The mass of cast iron is a big win when stir-frying; the temp won't drop as much when new food is added. The flat bottom works great with electric ranges/smoothtops, and also with induction.

Honest reviews on Bodum Chambord Enameled Cast Iron Wok With Glass Lid

For those of us who are fans of Chinese food, we know that most dishes are done in a wok. Steaming, searing, stir frying, deep frying, braising, and even soups are made in the wok. The wok itself, is simple enough. Either carbon steel or cast iron. But as Danny Kaye found out, any reputable Chinese restaurant has a special kitchen built around the wok; and that wok, and it's own special kitchen, comes from Robert Yick in San Francisco. These woks are up to 30" in diameter and the burners can fire up to 150,000 BTU.

The secret to wok cooking is high temperature. The problem with most homes is that most gas ranges go up to maybe 20,000 BTU, with some high end ranges going a little bit higher. Electric ranges putting out 1500 watts really aren't that great either. Higher price point home ranges such as Viking, Wolf, Kenmore Pro, and KitchenAid all offer ranges with higher BTU gas burners that could work very well if you want to spend that kind of money. The Wok Shop in San Francisco sells a Hurricane Portable Stove which can be hooked up to propane tanks or natural gas, and puts out 35,000 BTU.

What has worked for me is to pair a cast iron wok with an induction cooktop. My basic set-up is a camping type cast iron wok with a round bowl on the inside and a flat bottom. Lodge Pro Logic 14" Cast Iron Wok, Black, Bayou Classic 7437 12-1/2-Inch Cast Iron Wok, Mr. Bar-B-Q Cast-Iron Wok, and Stansport Cast Iron Wok or Stir Fry Skillet will all work fine. I have the Stansport model. You can even try the Joyce Chen 23-0001, 14 inch Lightweight Cast Iron Wok. Mine is paired with a Max Burton 6000 1800-Watt Portable Induction Cooktop, Black, but any of induction cooktop will do.

The secret here is that the cast iron gets very hot, very fast with induction. The only thing that is better is to use a cast iron wok over an open flame; like on a campfire when you're actually camping, a UniFlame WAD820SP 34-Inch Slate & Marble Firepit with Copper Accents in your yard, or a couple of logs lit in your Weber 751001 Gold One-Touch 22-1/2-Inch Kettle Grill, Black. It will get hot enough that you will see smoke rising from the wok, and your fried rice will actually sizzle, pop, and jump in the wok. That is "wok hei". Wok Hei is the flavour, tastes, and "essence" imparted by a hot wok on food during stir frying. To impart wok hei, the food must be cooked in a seasoned wok over a high flame while being stirred and tossed quickly. This is the secret to a good dry-fried beef chow fun or fried rice that doesn't stick and clump. With good wok hei, you could pop corn.

This wok has a ceramic glazed exterior much like you would find on very expensive La Creuset items. The exterior is extremely easy to clean, and should not require much beyond wiping with a wet sponge. As for cleaning the inside, do not use soap. In Chinese restaurants, the woks don't leave the range. The cook simply adds hot water, turns the flame up, and brushes the inside with a Paderno World Cuisine Traditional Bamboo Wok Brush, 10-Inch. The excess water is brushed out towards the backsplash where it runs into a gutter. The wok heats up again, and is wiped with a clean towel. Now it's ready to make the next dish. It is simply not practical to fling water against the wall and let it pool up under and behind your stove at home. So carry the wok over to the sink, wipe it up with a sponge or brush under running water, wipe with a clean dry towel, and return it to the stovetop. When the wok heats up again, add a thin layer of oil and let it cool off.

Now why did I buy this if I've already got a regular cast iron wok? Because I'm stupid. My girlfriend liked the pretty color, and I couldn't say no. But I've got to say that this is not all fluff. It may come in pretty colors, but cooks just as well as my other woks. Just don't take it out to the back yard, build a fire, and cook over an open flame. It's just too pretty for that.

Real Chinese cooks will want a Joyce Chen 31-0066, Nonstick Steel Dome Lid for 14-Inch Wok, Joyce Chen 26-0012, 3-Piece Bamboo Steamer, 12-Inch, and a Weber Smokey Joe charcoal grate (approximately 10"). The bamboo steamer is self explanatory. You can put the charcoal grate into the wok, fill with water to within an inch of it, then place plates of food on the grate, cover with the dome lid, and steam.

Just got this last week. The black color one for $61, very good price. You need to check Amazon constantly for price update. The wok is good quality, and relatively lighter than other cast iron wok(like lodge). Use it once on a smooth top, good result. In order to get the "wok hay" you need to preheat at least 5 minutes. I use hot water and pad to clean before next dishes.

The same people who used to make the swing a way's (in USA) are making a can opener called Ez-Duz-It that is exactly like the swing a ways but they are made in USA and the better quality that we were accustomed to with the old swing a ways. They are being sold at Fantes.com currently for 6.99. I received mine and indeed it is exactly like my old swing a way except it doesn't have the bottle opener on the side, I can live with that.

My old Swingaway opener lasted decades. It finally got worn out and started to not completely open cans, especially right at the seam on the side of the can. My new Swingaway opened the first can perfectly. End of satisfaction. It failed to open the second can correctly, leaving me to pry the cover up with a bottle opener. It now a month later fails to open any can properly.

I don't know where the old one was made, but the new one is just another piece of "made in China" junk. Perhaps their quality control let a bad one through. All I know is the old maxim, Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I will not buy another Swingaway.

There is nothing bad to say about this can opener. It works. It does the job. That's all you need in a can opener. My cans that were previously closed are now open.

Honest reviews on Swing-A-Way Can Opener

Since 2008, models 107, 407, 709 and 6090 appear to be made in China and are inferior to the original which had "Made in USA" stamped on the metal arm.

I had an old model of this opener that was of very good manufacturing quality, which is why I decided to buy another of the same. The new one looked the same but did not seem to have as much heft or the same fit and finish as my older one. The vinyl handles slide off the frame and it seems flimsy when trying to open a can. The old opener was to the point that it was worn out and did not open cans as well as it had when I first got it. The new one opens cans in about the same manner as my old one did at the end of its usefullness. I hate to give a review when I'm not overly happy with a purchase.

I initially purchased the smaller sibling of this rack J.K. Adams PRC-24 Mini Ceiling Oval Pot Rack, Natural but found it a bit too small for my needs. The larger model turned out to be more suited to the quantity of cookware I had accumulated over the years.

The mounting points for this rack are on 11-1/4" by 32" centers. For those of you who will be mounting the rack across your joists, this should make installation fairly straightforward, easy, and quick, assuming your joists are on standard 16" centers. If, like me, you are mounting the rack running with your joists, things get more challenging. And, when you are also mounting the rack over a counter whose relationship with the joists can only be described as "unfortunate", it gets slightly more complicated.

I solved my problem with two 34" long 3.5" wide oak planks, fastened into three joists, using 3" #12 brass wood screws, countersunk into the oak. The three joists were made necessary because of the relationship of the rack to the counter, and the fact that it was important to keep the rack mounting points between joist attachments to prevent the weight on the rack from being out on a "lever" with the last attachment point acting as a fulcrum. Without the need to line up favorably with the counter, a pair of 18" boards, attached at two joists would have been just fine. I mounted the rack offset, 4" from the back of the counter. I chose this offset to keep the pans out of my face when working at the counter, as I need all available workspace in my galley style kitchen.

Working on the ceiling is always a treat. I transferred the exact location of the back edge of my counter to the ceiling by clamping a board along the counter's curved edge, and using it as a reference rail. The actual transfer was done using a Bosch plumb laser Bosch Self-Leveling Laser Plumb Bob (GPL2) . To find the joists I used Zircon 60276 MultiScanner i700 OneStep Wood, Metal, and Live Wire Stud Sensor, however, there were some "mystery boards" in my ceiling that cast some doubt as to whether I was correctly identifying the joists, and I finally had to resort to using a fiber optic camera Ridgid 31123 SeeSnake Micro 9.5mm Inspection Camera to identify what was what. The "mystery boards" run back among some cabinets, and I'm still not sure why they were put there, but at least I was able to properly identify the joists. For placement of the first plank, measurements were made to a nearby wall, and the second plank was placed by measurements to the first, along with the use of the stud-finder and a square. I fabricated a small drilling template from some scrap aluminum I had on hand to insure consistent hole placement across both planks. Other tools used included a Makita circular saw Makita 5008MGA Magnesium 8-1/4-Inch Circular Saw , Skil 3400-12 10-Inch Table Saw Kit with Stand (both equipped with a Freud "fine" blade Freud TF1061 10-Inch 60-Tooth Thin Kerf Fine Cut Blade) and a Milwaukee Drill Milwaukee 2601-22 18-Volt Li-ion Compact Drill Kit . Also used were misc. drill bits, including a #12 countersink; a screwdriver, screwdriver bit, a 24" square, a 36" "story stick", a 36" steel rule, (2) 12" "rapid clamps" and an ancient Porter Cable router.

Once everything had been mounted to the ceiling and I had a good "test fit" trial with the rack in place, I pulled it all back down. I then "dressed up" the oak planks a bit using a router. Finally, I sanded and finished them, using a natural finish Minwax Natural Finish, 1 Qt. Once dry, it all went back up. While not an exact match, by any means, the naturally finished oak blends well with the wood and metal of the rack. The woods I found at my local "big box DIY" which might have been a closer match to the wood in the rack, did not offer the strength of the oak, and I find I like the resulting aesthetic, right down to the accent of the brass screw heads.

Although the particulars of my situation made this into a bigger installation task than I anticipated, that will certainly not be the case for everyone. I do wish J. K. Adams would wise up and offer both an 18" and 34" adapter board set we aren't all going to be mounting across the joists. And please, no matter how tempted you may be to cheat, make the effort (or hire the effort) to be sure this thing is solidly fastened to your joists. Do not let anyone convince you that some gadget will let you use the sheet-rock. That patented miracle-anchor may let you attach a Volkswagen to your sheet-rock wall without a problem, but this is a ceiling, not a wall. Not only do you need to avoid the sickening sound of a hole being torn in your ceiling, and your expensive cookware crashing down on whatever is below, but you also need to consider the real risk of someone being injured. I have no doubt my Le Creuset Dutch Oven could seriously injure, perhaps even kill, when falling from a height. Especially if it squarely struck a small child on the head.

Overall, I would strongly recommend this rack. I have ordered more hooks for mine, and look forward to years of having my cookware properly stored, a nice contrast to the years of cursing and swearing, digging around in dark cabinets while crouched on the floor with a flashlight.

So, enjoy your new rack if you buy one, and Bon Appétit !

This is a great pot rack that I will take with me if I ever move. The combo of metal and wood is done well an adds to the functionality. The wood rails allow for the hooks to slide to the desired spot with no weight on them. This allows for adjustment every time you hang a pot or pan if you wish to keep them from hitting each other. The rack hangs by 8 inch hooks and you can add additional 8 or 4 inch to achieve your desired height. The look is cleaner than a chain. The rack is made to come apart if you wish to refinish or paint the wood to another color. I like the natural lighter wood it came with myself. You won't be disappointed with this rack.

Best Deals for J.K. Adams Hardwood Mini Bar Pot Rack

One of the downsides of purchasing things on-line is that it is easy to make a mis-judgement about something you have never seen or handled. Because we have a small, "galley style" kitchen (which I hate!) I asssumed that this would be the right model for our home. However, it was much smaller than I realized, and I am returning it in favor of the larger version of the same rack. (It was so much smaller than I realized, that I never even bothered to open the packaging it was possible to tell from the sealed box that I had made an error. I am sure that this is a nice rack, as I have received and opened the larger model and am pleased with it. But you may have more room than you think, so consider the possibility that the larger model may fit.

This pot rack is both beautiful and well made. For those with limited space, it doesn't take up much room but holds alot. One of the few remaining American built, quality products.

When I opened the box, I was surprised to find that this rack comes with two ceiling hooks (I assumed it didn't and picked up a couple at Home Depot firstoops). They are basic eye screw type, 4" long with 1-7/8" long threaded region (must be screwed into wood, according to instructions), 1/4" diameter. Also surprising was that it also came with two 4" extension hooks. If you use all the included hooks, you would get 1-7/8" from the ceiling hooks, 4" from the extensions, and 2-3/8" from the rack hanging hooks, for a total of 8-1/4" between ceiling and top of the rack. Rack is 1.5" tall.

Also included were eight pot hooks, two of which are to be used for hanging the rack from the ceiling. They sit loosely in the rack (the rack is hollow and channeled on the inside, so you feed the hooks inside the rack which weighs down on their bases), so theoretically the rack could slide side-to-side if hooks are mounted at less than 32" apart.

The hooks for hanging pots also sit loosely in the rack (hooks weigh down on rack). So you can easily adjust the spacing between pots and pans (slide them side-to-side; not through the center though as there is a screw there), or add more hooks. The hooks have a square base, so they won't rotate unless you push them up/out, rotate, then sit them back into the rack.

I really like the solid construction and design. Before, I was a bit concerned it would be easy to knock it off the ceiling hooks, but now that I've used it I see that as highly unlikely.

This little sprouter worked just as described. The first batch, using just one tray, barely fit into a quart bag. That was using 2.5 tablespoons of seeds. Really like the cover, because it helps keep them in the dark and control when they get light.

Honest reviews on Sprout Garden 3 Tray Family Sprouting Kit - Includes: Sprouter

Sprouting isn't supposed to be difficult, but if you're like me and do not have a green thumb, sprouting can be frustrating. I've fiddled with sprouting jars in the past, but I was never able to successfully grow sprouts. I bought this product to give sprouting one last chance, and I can now say that "Yes, anyone can grow sprouts!" As I type this, I'm getting ready to to harvest my second crop of sprouts.

Because the Sprout Garden has three trays, you can grow three different types of sprouts if you want. My current crop offers two trays of mixed sprouts and one tray of alfalfa sprouts. The Sprout Garden takes up very little space on the counter (it's about the size of a large dinner plate, but of course it's taller), it's lightweight, and it's easy to store. The pieces nest inside each other (though really, I don't know why you'd want to store it -keep those sprouts sprouting!).

I'll tell you something: my success with the Sprout Garden has convinced me that I can grow other things, too! I might even try to grow my own herbs.

If you're new to sprouting or if -like me -you've had bad luck in the past, try this product.

This oval-shaped stainless steel roaster is heavy duty, good-sized, and good quality for the price. It will hold up to a 20 lb. turkey. The roaster comes in three pieces--the bottom pan, the top/lid piece, and a wire rack that fits in either the bottom or the top piece. The top/lid piece has a thin (approx 1-1.5 mm) encapsulated aluminum disc on its bottom and can be used by itself as an oval skillet on the stove top or as a shallow roasting/broiler pan in in the oven. The top piece inverts to be used as a lid on the bottom pan. The bottom pan has a much thicker encapsulated aluminum disc on its bottom. Note: neither aluminum disc is encapsulated in magnetic stainless steel so neither will function on an induction stove top but will work fine in the oven. The oval shaped wire rack is solidly built and has swinging lift arms which rest against the handle sides of the roasting pan when raised. These arms also have notches built into them which allows the rack to be raised about 3 inches above the bottom of the roasting pan and locked there by hooking the arm notches onto the top lip/edge of the bottom roasting pan. This allows drainage after roasting or better air circulation (and browning) while roasting. If used for elevated roasting in this way the top lid will not fit. Pretty cool rack feature.

The top and bottom pieces have riveted hollow tube handles. The approximate interior dimensions of the bottom pan are 16.75"Lx11"Wx5.75"H. The top pan's interior dimensions are slightly smaller and it's approximately 2.75" high. The exterior dimensions with the lid on are approximately 21"L (w/ handles) x 12"W x 9"H. The bottom pan had a slight wobble on my smooth top stove which actually flattened out when the pan was preheated to sear the roast I cooked in it. Searing worked well. The top piece had almost no wobble and fit the bottom piece well as a lid. This roaster works well as a giant dutch oven. Good product at a great price.

Just received my Precise Heat roaster, opened it, and it is absolutely what I had hoped for! Being very particular, I had searched all over town for a stainless steel roaster with lid and rack. What I found in the local stores (and I live in a large city) was totally unacceptable. It is easy to see that it will be extremely functional, it's the perfect size for me, and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I now cook only with stainless steel, and this roaster is a perfect match with my other cookware. Typically, the turkey comes out of the oven with "company" watching me. I'll be proud to "show off" this Thanksgiving with my new roaster! To add to my my pleasure, it was received on the seventh day after I purchased it. You won't go wrong if you buy this product. As a matter of fact, I'm ordering one for my daughter this morning!

I purchased two of these pans, one as a gift. I have a small house and like having one quality pan which can perform several tasks ( same reason why I love Emile Henry FlameTop). The base and cover can both be used in the oven or on two burners. The internal, removable rack can be adjusted to several heights. Besides using the pan for baking and roasting, it also makes an excellent steamer for a lot of vegetables or seafood. The cover, also, is beautiful enough to be used as a platter for the table or to serve appetizers or a salad.

This roasting pan with lid is phenomenal quality. It is heavy but very well made. We were looking for a large pan for our 20# turkey and came across this pan. Decided to give it a shot even though the wife was hesitant to spend this much on an unknown when she could have bought an enameled pan. Don't regret it one bit. This pan helped our turkey come out perfectly moist, even in the white meat. This pan comes with the roasting rack but to make lifting off the turkey, I recommend a set of poultry forks. The pan cleaned up easily by hand though I believe the instructions say that a dishwasher cleaning is acceptable also. We left the pan to soak overnight in the sink and washed it out in the morning with no scrubbing. You will be impressed by the overall quality of this pan. There is just enough space between the lid and pan to allow you to insert a meat thermometer but not so much that the heat escapes. Great pan no regrets at all. Can't wait to use it again for a smaller turkey or ham.

If you'll be displaying your lovingly polished saucepans on a rack above your head, get the All-Clad Stainless 3-Quart Saucepan or Bourgeat Sauce Pan w/ Cast Iron Handle 7.1" & Lid and be happy. For the rest of us whose kitchens aren't showcases, the Sitram Profiserie is the pan to have. It has served as my primary saucepan for seven years of daily cooking with absolute success. Its thick aluminum base gives excellent heat distribution, but since the sides are un-clad, the weight is much more reasonable than the two alternatives mentioned above. The lid (sold separately) is also lightweight ("cheap," if you will) but exceedingly well-designed, with a small vent and slight conical shape to direct condensate back onto the food.

Since it is certified to 1000 degrees F and designed for induction cooking, I have boiled it dry on multiple occasions and the bottom is as flat as the day I bought it. When that happens, I am also grateful for the stainless steel interior, which can be cleaned with sandpaper should the situation warrant (I recommend 120 grit to start, followed by a smoothing pass with 600, all wet-dry, of course). The hollow handle allows you to pick it up no matter how hot the bottom of the pan is, and the expertly curled lip pours without a single drip. The performance of this pan is such that I don't use a double boiler to make custard in it!

We're replacing our cooktop with an induction model, which means replacing a lot of pots and saucepans.

The stuff you get from Target and Walmart is very flimsy, and if you cook at all, you know you've got to continually buy new non-stick cookware. (Even the new ceramic-coated ones kiddos....that garbage is no better than the Teflon it's supposed to be such an improvement on. It chips VERY quickly. Same story, different batch of crooks.)

Anyway, the stainless steel eliminates the frequent fryer program, if you can find a good, well made brand.

This Sitram Profiserie line fits the bill.

It ain't pretty. The handles are spot welded on the pan, which I consider a minimum requirement (as opposed to having those great honking rivets running through the pan that catch all the food and are a hassle to clean), but they are attached with very small welds, and the welds sometimes show inside the pan. They look like they wouldn't hold a full pot of water, but I filled it to the brim and had no trouble with the handle breaking from the weight, so it's all good.

The bottom of the pots are heavier than the sides, making the pot itself stable at high heat....it shouldn't warp. (And I did boil it for several minutes at highest heat to test it out.) The sides are thinner, reducing the weight of the pan. Also good. (You fill a Le Creuset with water and it takes two people to lift the pot, and I rarely have a sous-chef on hand.) The handles are hollow and stay cool enough to handle without burning yourself at high heat.

The bottom is un-shiny and ridged/rough. Like I said, not pretty. And the lid is just thin solid metal demi-cone. (I like to check the progress without lifting the lid sometimes, so I prefer glass tops. Just personal preference.)

But these are going to be the work horses of the new collection. They are a bit more expensive than Bed Bath and Beyond stuff, but less expensive than Sur La Table offerings, and they look like they will last a good long time. They work great with Induction.

If they were attractive as well, they'd get five stars, but for the purpose, they don't have to be attractive too. So 4½ stars for these and I will be buying more.

I read about this company's pan many years ago in "The New York Times". The author raved about its durability and how easy it was to clean. It holds heat evenly, too. All of these claims have been substantiated by me. I have made many puddings in it without burning any of it on the inside bottom of the pan. I use this pan at least twice per day and bought another one, also. My first pan is about 2 years old and going strong. It far surpasses my other Revere and Farberware pans.

Honest reviews on Frieling USA Sitram Profiserie Saucepans

This is a handy little saucepan. Very versatile. Lightweight with a large diameter handle. I especially like the curved lip that makes pouring very easy. Love this pan.

Addendum to previous review: I have used this pan weekly since purchase. It has recently begun to collect water in the hollow handle. Just a warning for future users. Drain pan upright before storing in cabinet or you will ruin your cabinet bottom. It has otherwise been a fantastic pan.

I recently bought this pot and love it. Heavy bottom, handle stays cool, cooks evenly and cleans beautifully in the dishwasher. Happy to find a reasonably-priced pot made in France, not China.

Do you need these, no not really. Are they fun to have, absolutely!

If you are a kitchen gadget person, like me, you will enjoy these. They are much easier to use than standard kitchen twine because you aren't trying to tie and cut, they can almost be fastened with one hand. They are extremely easy to open and close. Additionally, they do not stick to the food because they are silicone. Have you ever closed a stuffed pork chop with a toothpick and then couldn't find it to remove it? That doesn't happen with the foodloop. My set is a bright neon fuchsia; I could almost find them in the dark to remove them.

Surprisingly, they are easy to clean. They come in a little mesh bag that can be used to contain them in the dishwasher. Being silicone, nothing sticks to them so that they also hand wash with ease.

I have used them to make braciole (Italian stuffed roast). They are also great for whole fish (to keep the lemon and herbs inside when baking). I have used them to truss the legs on a Turkey. They also worked great when I made an eggplant rollatini.

I highly recommend this product to anyone that has impaired dexterity (arthritis) or wants to remove the kitchen twine from the counter. These are very useful to have around.

I have used these few times. They come undone and they break easily. I have 2 out of 6 left due to breakage. You can use them for rolled items like roasts, but not for birds; nothing that needs a tight tie can be trussed with these.

However, they withstand the heat and are easy to clean.

I tried this on my Thanksgiving turkey and they didn't work. The loop came undone during cooking. It was also a bit difficult to deal with using greasy hands. Maybe it will do better on stuff that roasts flat in a pan.

I bought these a few years ago. They were definitely unimpressive. I'm surprised they are still being sold!! I can't recommend these to anyone!!

I just received this item and have not used it yet, however I am giving it 4 stars because a) it is such a good idea and b) i am sure they will work fine because of the other silicon products I have in my kitchen. They lose one star because they are thinner than what they appear to be in the photo. I wanted to hurry this review before using the product because nowhere on this product description page did I read the words "package of six". So I bought two of them, paying twice for what I only needed once. Instead of returning the extra package I will send them to dear old mom. Lucky her.

Greetings, (For future customers)

This lid is actually 9 3/8" from inside to inside. Fits well inside a 10" skillet. Is usable, but not satisfactory.

Farberware should be notified.

I purchased the Farberware 12-Inch Glass Lid thinking it would fit my Farberware 12-Inch Deep Skillet. Silly me. It didn't fit. Not even close. It seems that while the curved side of the skillet arcs down to the base directly from the edge, the lid has a lip that is more or less perpendicular to its edge an incompatible state of affairs. After spending a little time audibly pondering the mental capacity and pedigree of whoever at Farberware was responsible for this SNAFU, I "fine-tuned" the lip of the lid with a pair of blunt nose pliers and thumb/forefinger pressure to achieve an acceptable fit. My wife is satisfied so all is well.

Realizing that a lot of Amazon shoppers probably would not take this course of action, I am submitting this review to advise fellow deep skillet lid seekers to look elsewhere for a lid that fits "out of the box" and to remind everyone that sometimes the 12 inches you're looking for is not the 12 inches you get. So be careful out there.

Best Deals for Farberware Cookware Glass Replacement Lid

I have a number of stainless steel Farberware Classic 10" pans and this lid fits them all perfectly including an 8-quart stockpot and a 10" frypan from an old Farberware set, as well as the 10" skillet from their current "Skillet Twin Pack" (SKU #71229). As other reviews have noted, these lids and pans are actually smaller than 10" closer to 9 3/8" (or 24 cm). So if you're looking for lids to fit pans of a different brand, beware.

Honest reviews on Farberware Cookware Glass Replacement Lid

I bought his lid for my Analon 12" pan, and it fits it like a glove. I use it frequently and it always performs well. I just throw it in the dishwasher for a quick clean up.

It is so nice to have a lid that will fit the 12 inch Tfal skillet. Other brands of lids do not fit the 12 inch Tfal. Another plus is being able to see what is cooking without lifting the lid.

I bought this as an omelet pan for my husband who loves to cook us breakfast on Saturday mornings. It heats evenly, the edges are turned up just enough to allow easy flipping of the eggs. The size is great for a 2 egg omelet, and it cleans up very nicely too. My husband does not get very excited over kitchen accessories, but he is very proud and very particular about his "omelet pan". Thanks for helping me make him a happy hubby in the kitchen!!!

I make vegan crepes which are much more prone to sticking then their eggy counterparts and this pan is a miracle (as long as you season it correctly and take care of it) plus it's a great price.

Honest reviews on Paderno World Cuisine 8.625 Inch Blue Carbon Steel Crepe Pan

Made in China??? Unknown.

You get exactly what is advertised, an 8.625" crepe pan.

I ordered two Paderno crepe pans. One from this page and a second listed as 8 5/8" instead of 8.625". The size should have been identical! The 8 5/8" pan cost a lot more, so I wondered if there might be a difference in quality. Both crepe pans appeared to have the same specs from the same company. Perhaps the more expensive one is made in Italy and this cheaper one in China?

The 8.625" pan arrived and is exactly as described. The actual cooking surface is only about 6.75 inches in diameter. The pan is much thinner, lighter weight than the Paderno 9.5 inch Frying pan I recieved. (The frying pan was labeled as being made in China.) The lighter weight of this crepe pan may be appealing for some cooking applications. I will probably use a lower heat setting when using the thinner, lighter weight pan. The crepe pan is a nice weight and not cheap or flimsey.

The higher priced 8 5/8" pan was mislabeled. I received a 7" in diameter pan. It appeared to be the same quality as the 8.625" pan. Except for size, it appeared to be identical in materials and workmanship. Since the 8 5/8 inch pan I received was mislabeled by the Paderno company, I do not know how a correctly labeled 8 5/8 inch pan would rate in a side by side comparison to the 8.625 inch pan. Maybe the pans are identical, maybe not?

NEITHER crepe pan was labeled with a Country of Origin. I thought this was mandatory under US law.

I ordered the Paderno 9.5" carbon steel frying pan at the same time. The Country of Origin is CHINA!!!!! I thought I was purchasing Italian cookware, so I am not a happy camper. The front of the label states: Paderno, an Italian manufacturing company serving professional chefs since 1925. But, on the back of the label, by the UPC, it clearly states: Made in China.

I suspect that even though the two Paderno World Cuisine crepe pans I purchased are not labeled, they were also made in CHINA.

Grrrrr....
