I bought one of these when it first hit the market. It's true, you can nuke your noodles in any old bowl. BUT, if you are the kind of person who eats ramen noodles because you like them and not just because they're cheap. If you are the person who buys the dollar-a-pack noodles in the Asian food section and cooks them in a pot, testing and stirring till they are perfect. Then you can understand what this little bowl does. It makes perfect noodles, every time, without all the tending and stirring. It's not just about getting the ramen cooked, it's about getting it cooked right. That is what this bowl does.

This is a nice looking set, tight fitting lids. Great to see food through the clear lids. Bought this set and within a couple months of very light use, the pans became pitted and peeling. Never used anything abrasive or metal. Put in the dishwasher a few times but they are supposed to be dishwasher safe. After many phone calls and Cuisinart giving me a hard time about their "lifetime" warranty they finally agreed to let me ship them back (my own expense) for evaluation. They sent out what I was later told "a re-coating of my old pans". Well they looked new and now the lid doesn't fit on one of them. The pan obviously misshapen. Another call to Cuisinart...I will have to send the pan back again (at my own expense) and they will evaluate and send me...whatever (also at my expense). Crap product and crap warranty. Will never buy this brand of pan again.

We got this set of Cuisinart pans as a holiday gift more than 6 years ago, and they've proven to be quite the "warhorse" of cookware!

I'm not a chef by any means, but we do cook at home 4-5 times a week. I've avoided (mostly) using metal utensils; the sauce pans get used almost every day; the large skillet gets used the most.

They are finally starting to show a little wear and tear, but other than the large skillet no longer being truly non-stick, they are still working just fine.

Not sure about other reviews in the negatory; I think this is a lovely set for the money.

Great product, great brand, great value! Nice weight, not light and flimsy. Love that each piece has its own lid no sharing as in most sets in this price range.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart 55-11 Advantage Non-Stick 11-Piece Cookware Set

I received this product on August 2nd 2013. Seemed to be working fine. Today I cooked some pancakes using the 3 qt. saucepan (probably the pan I use the most, perhaps twice weekly.) When I washed the pan (by hand I do not use a dishwasher, as instructed), I found that a large chunk of the outside finish had chipped off. These pans do not get banged. I cook for myself so I typically use only one pan at a time. The rest of my dishes go in the dishwasher so they don't get banged in the sink either.

56 days for the outside finish to last is just ridiculous. Amazon's return policy is no returns after 30 days so I am stuck with the entire set of pans. And I believe if the finish is bad on one pan the others probably wont last very long either.

I ABSOLUTELY WOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE TO BUY A SET OF PANS BASED ON THIS EXPERIENCE!!!

I wanted new cookware to go with my newly remodeled kitchen. The old stuff was not completely flat for the new smooth glass cooktop. This set is perfect. Sits flat, cooks evenly, does not stick, cleans up well. The sizes are perfect for our family of two. I love the bright red color. It looks nice and does the job. The price was really good. I am happy with this purchase.

Orgreenic Flip Jack Ceramic Non-stick Pancake Maker, As Seen On Tv Reviews

Orgreenic Flip Jack Ceramic Non-stick Pancake Maker, As Seen On Tv
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars

I have seen the ads on TV saying just how good this thing is so, when I found one at a local Walgreen's, I bought it. I used it a couple of times and, as of today, I tossed it in the recycler because it is useless.

OK, the good news is that it cooks well and I never had a problem with food sticking BUT to keep it from sticking you HAVE to apply some cooking spray to both pans before you start to heat them.

The bad news is just about everything else. First and foremost--it leaks. When you try to flip the pan over if there is anything that is even slightly liquid inside it will leak out the joint between the pans. It could be egg white or batter, if it is still liquid it will leak. Second, and something that the commercials never mention, you cook in the lower pan while the upper pan is still upright. You close the upper pan and flip the thing over. Now you have to wait while the (used to be) upper pan heats up and begins to cook. Also, in the commercial they show a woman blowing on a pancake to make it slide out of the pan and it is nowhere near that easy. While the food doesn't stick badly. at least for the few times I used it, it often has to be nudged with a spatula to make it slide out. On top of everything else it is VERY cheaply made, the handle broke the fourth time I used it. This needs to be re-engineered so that the edges of the pans overlap rather than just meeting. That would help stop the leaking. The heating of the second pan is something we would just have to live with. Do I recommend it? Absolutely not!

I bought this hoping that it would be good at making eggs over easy. Unfortunately, it's not so good. The non-stick just doesn't work and the eggs end up stuck to the upper lid of the pan. Even after i seasoned it like the instructions say. Eggs definitely don't slip around the pan as in the commercial. Well it's only $20. i'll try it using cooking spray.

UPDATE:

Having used it for a few weeks now, I've figured a few things out. First, I have to use cooking spray. Without question. And I need to spray it on while the pan is cold. Spraying it on when hot just makes a mess. Second. I need to flip the pan and pre-heat the top before putting anything in it. Third, I think this pan will completely fail when the hinge fails. It's made with very small rivets. They don't look like they will stand up to a lot of use or abuse. So I think there is a life expectancy that I have to look forward to.

I followed their seasoning instructions and tried to fry some eggs. I had to use a spatula and they still stuck to both sides.

Honest reviews on Orgreenic Flip Jack Ceramic Non-stick Pancake Maker, As Seen On Tv

I saw this on TV and thought, hey great concept. I actually don't have much trouble cooking eggs or pancakes, but if you can make it easier, hey, why not, right? My next trip to WalMart, I saw it on the shelf, and bought on impulse. I wish I hadn't.

ON the informercial, you see them all happily cooking their eggs and pancakes, and nothing sticks, and just simply blowing onto the pan slides the food right off! WOW! Right?

Wrong.

My first thought, as I opened the package, was, hmm, this looks extremely cheap and flimsy, and will probably leak out the sides, and likely break in time. Not worth $20. You can get a really nice skillet for $20 that will LAST. My next thought was, hmm, is this dishwasher safe? Probably not, with my luck... so I look, and I'm right, it recommends hand washing. Okay, no big deal, this thing is supposed to be as slippery as a banana peel, so it won't need much washing, right?

Wrong.

Next, I read the instructions, and it tells me I have to season the pan. Seriously? This isn't cast iron, it's not a wok, why do I have to season it? It's supposed to be non-stick, right?

Wrong.

So I dutifully seasoned the pan, exactly as instructed. And I'm not new to seasoning pans. I just so happen to have some cast iron, and a fancy wok, and both need seasoning. So I season. Season, to my hearts content, and deciding that season doesn't really stick to this pan, I decide to season it once more for good measure. Afterward I wipe the excess oil as the instructions say (which shouldn't exist if it were seasoning!) and I feel like all I've done is waste oil, but I figure, maybe some of it soaked in there and did the trick. I decide to test my shiny new contraption by making a fried egg. Over medium, my preferred way to eat. And this egg, it comes out perfect. I'm somewhat impressed, though worried about the edges should I try more than one egg, or runny crepe batter. I wipe the pan out with a paper towel, and not much is there to wipe. I'm happy. I think, cool, so far so good. Will test more tomorrow. I put the pan away, and the next day, I decide to try 2 eggs. On TV you see them doing 3, so surely you can do 2, right?

Wrong.

I'm thinking my earlier success with 1 egg coming out perfect will mean success with my second attempt, too, right?

Wrong.

I grab my handy-dandy flip jack pan, and heat it up, I even put a light coating of oil on it first just to be safe, because I always use a bit of oil with other seasoned pans. Not much, just enough to make it shine. I crack 2 eggs into the heated pan. I cook it until the point of needing flipped. I flip. I lift the lid, and what to my wondering eyes should appear? 2 egg yolks spattered onto the bottom of the pan, while the whites hang out happily on top. I grumble, I scrape my eggs out, and kind of have this not quite scrambled eggs thing but certainly not overmedium. I choke them down and ponder what went wrong. After the pan cools, I clean it out. It's a bit harder this time as there is some egg stuck to it. But I clean it, and get it spic and span, and try the seasoning process over again. Repeat what worked the first time, right?

Wrong.

I tried again. Two lovely eggs cracked into the freshly seasoned heated pan, and cook until time to flip, and flip, and... same thing as the second attempt. Yolks on one side, whites on the other. Again I scrape up my egg mess, and this time just toss it out.

I haven't tried a 4th time. 2/3 failed egg attempts really make me question the validity of the non stick claims of this pan. I am not a novice in the kitchen, I am quite the expert at most things culinary, and as I said, I certainly know how to fry an egg. I'm not sure I'm going to try and 4th time, because it seems that unless I'm just cooking one egg, it's not so great, and with a family of 4, I'm usually going to be cooking more than one egg at a time. And for all I know it's a one and done kind of pan and that very first egg was the only one that will ever work out. I will forever have fond memories of that one perfect egg. Meanwhile, this pan is going to the back of the cabinet and likely not be used again. I will just stick to my normal skillets with my awesome spatula, which by the way, only cost me $4, and flips a perfect egg every time.

Save your money, and frustrations. This pan is just all kinds of wrong.

I was very excited when I bought this, but upon getting it home I realized it had to be seasoned just like any cast iron skillet. When did nonstick surfaces need to be seasoned? It was also cheaply built. Upon cleaning after seasoning it, the rivets on one handle popped loose and the handle was floppy after one cleaning.

When I finally did test it out by cooking eggs, upon flipping it over, not only did the eggs stick to the top I now had a real mess as i had eggs on top and on bottom. I grabbed a plastic spatula to slide the remaining egg into my old cast iron skillet and had to actually scrape to get the egg from the orgreenic pan. They were not burned they were just stuck to it as they would have been to a non greased iron pan. I finished cooking the mess in my properly seasoned cast iron skilled, to which they did not stick, and tossed the Orgreenic pan in the trash.

It does chill the bottle faster than putting it in the freezer, but it takes a little longer than 5 minutes, more like 10. It slips easily around every wine bottle I have used it on.

Though I haven't tried this with wine yet, this is a great product to keep your baby's bottle or sippy cup cool in the summer, without taking up a lot of space in the diaper bag. It could also be used to keep breast milk chilled. So much better than bulky ice packs--and it covers more of the bottle's surface area too. It doesn't leave any wet condensation on your diaper bag contents. No zippers to open; you can quickly slide the bottle in and out of the sleeve without taking it out of the bag. Great for mom & dad's water bottles too!

I had been researching 10" non-stick pans on Amazon. The next day I was in a big box store and came across the Bakers & Chefs 10" pan that I'd never heard of before. I am so pleased I took a chance with it as its performance is superb. After 6+ months of use the non-stick surface is like new and nothing sticks to it. From what I read you should not use aerisol spray oil on the pan as it can ruin the non-stick surface. I have used only olive oil or butter on ocassion, but usually don't use anything. Easy cleanup with a soapy sponge. Don't think you can go wrong with this purchase.

I've had one of these skillets for several months, now, got it from Amazon. Before buying, I did some research on the Eclipse non-stick coating. Standard industry Lab tests indicate that Eclipse is orders of magnitude better than previous non-stick coatings. I have to agree; this is the best skillet I've ever used; nothing sticks to it, it cooks evenly, eggs slide around as if they were on ice skates. It cleans up like new. I wipe it out with a paper towel, then rinse it out with hot water, and a dishrag (no soap, ever), even the raw aluminum outside surface. The pan is a good weight, good balance, it feels good in your hands, you can flip things easily, even things, like pancakes, that stick to some other pans.

I bought these two, one for each of my daughters; they tell me that they love the pans...and me. I give Bakers & Chefs an A+ for the design (sides are sloped, so you can easily flip the contents), construction (three burly rivets hold the cast Stainless Steel handle in place, and the slide on / off silicone handle cover ensures that you won't burn your hands. This is my favorite skillet.

This is a pretty cool lid because it can stand up on the counter. The glass is very solid heavy glass, so I don't want to know what will happen if I knocked it over, but it is tempered so I am not worried. My husband easily screwed the handle to the lid, and you can see there is a vent where the handle meets the lid. It is easy to clean, and if I got food stuck in the vent or needed a deep cleaning I would be able to take the handle apart from the glass. I bought it to fit my 11" Blooming Flower Wok, and it fits perfectly.

Great, simple pan . . . if you use a grill, gas, or standard coil cooktop. For a ceramic cooktop, it will not work. The long, heavy handle causes the pan to tilt up on the opposite end. It will not sit flat on a ceramic cooktop. So, take your cooktop into consideration before ordering.

Honest reviews on Progressive International Deluxe Potato Cutter

Progressive International Deluxe Potato Cutter

I have used this handy kitchen tool several times per week for nearly a year now. I love this thing!

I have shredded cabbage with it, diced onions, cubed potatoes, sweet potatoes, eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash; cut peppers, cucumbers, carrots and more. The secret to success is to only use firm, FRESH produce. If your produce is starting to get a little soft or rubbery, you'll be better off reaching for a knife instead.

So, when you first get that sack of potatoes, pull this puppy out to cut and freeze your own french fries! I toss them into ice water immediately after cutting, then double ziploc bag handfuls of them and freeze.

To dice or cube, make the first regular cut, then take those, rotate 90 degrees, reinsert and cut again. Safe, effortless, quick and easy meal prep for the home cook at a reasonable cost.

The unit sits comfortably and solidly on the counter with the base rubber grip. The stainless steel construction is not industrial strength, but not flimsy either, and is adequate for its purpose. Highly recommend.

I was excited to find a stainless model of the Progressive Potato Cutter but ended up disappointed by this unit. Although it's mostly metal, it still has a rather flimsy feel to it. Clipper 215-00004 12-Inch Natural Aluminum No Grip Fry Pan
Customer Ratings: 3 stars

Okay, first of all, one of the biggest myths is that you need to have very expensive kitchen accessories. You don't. Prior to the modern marketing era, how did our parents and grandparents cook? How do people cook and eat in poor countries, or places where they don't have designer label cookware in overpriced "foodie" gourmet shops?

If you go to any high -end restaurant, and look in their kitchen, you will not find an All-Clad Copper Core 14-Piece Set, or anything else that cost more than your monthly rent. Actually, you won't find anything that will even cost a car payment. If you ask any professional cook what they use day-to-day on the line at the saute station, they'll tell you it's simply commercial cookware. Nothing fancy. What is commercial? Usually something cheap. Like this cheap pan.

At my house, we use cast iron. Not some overpriced designer brand like a Le Creuset Cookware Set , 20 Piece. Just the simple hardware store and sporting goods store items hat I have accumulated over the years. That's right. We cook our meals with camping gear. Remember, if it taste good when you're camping, it will taste good at home. Nothing makes pancakes, eggs, and bacon better than a cast iron pan. And when you have well seasoned cast iron, nothing sticks to it.

But despite all the benefits of cast iron, that's not what we're here for. We are here to talk about this pan.

Now what is the big deal with this pan? Why do I own, not just one, but two of these?

My current bed-wench was complaining about the cast iron. It is heavy. I agree. I can see how a wench, given a choice, would not want to heft a cast iron pan. She still has a hard time with not using soap when cleaning my cast iron, and she still hasn't gotten used to continually heating and oiling the cast iron pans to keep them from rusting.

This pan is made with aluminum. That makes it light in weight, and it resist corrosion. My wench can wash it in hot soapy water, and doesn't have to heat and oil it after washing. This pan is light enough for my wench to flick her wrist and flip the food in the pan. Get two. You can flip one over the other, and use the second pan as a lid. 10' is a good size for cooking a plate of food. Need to make two plates? That's what the second pan is for. Aluminum tends to take heat, spread it out, and dissipate it. This is why heat sinks are made of aluminum. How is this good? Heat rises. The pan takes the heat from your burner, spreads it through the pan (evenly), then releases it (upward) into the food in your pan. The surface is very easy to clean, which allows you to wipe and wash, then move on to cooking your next dish before the pan cools off. And since aluminum is light in weight, you have a decreased risk of injury if you're cooking on the line and flipping food all day.

Initially I thought the 16-inch pan would be too small. You end up with 5-6 servings (prepare to be amazed at how fast people come back for seconds). But it ends up being perfect for my grill a slightly bigger pan would fit, but I wouldn't be able to close the grill, don't forget to account for the handles.

Like any thin pan, don't heat it up without anything it, or you'll make it lopsided. The plastic/rubber coating on the handles doesn't come off on the grill which is nice. A bigger pan would be a bit harder to hold on to as well. Make sure you order a good oven mitt.

This quickly became a favorite for our Sunday friends and family dinners, especially during the spring and summer months, when we can eat outdoors by the pool. The recipes are plentiful and adjustible to your families taste. I began with a 22 inch then bought the 14 inch, we always make both, the 22 inch "Paella de la Valencia" seafood and the 14 inch all meat, sausage and chicken for the non fish eaters.

I would recommend that a purchase of the 14, 18, 22 or 36 pan would be best, Why those sizes you ask? Well, Weber kettle comes in those sizes, the pan fits right on top of the appropriate grill (you do need an airgap between the pan and lip of the grill or it will snuff your heat) and anyone can cook this amazing dish to your own taste, in a method as close to tradition as possible (without a fire on the ground) in your own backyard. Oh yea the red handle means HOT, someone else recommended good grill gloves and I second that. I use welding gloves, but I already had them. I also wrap the handle with a kitchen towel or washcloth while it is on the table to remind our guests that the handle is HOT also.

The only other things needed to make this dish properly is Spanish "Bomba" rice, saffron and a long (20"+ recommended)spatula. I have not seen these items cheaper than Amazon anywhere else I shop near home, you're gonna want to make this stuff pretty quick after you get your pan so may as well order it now.

Have fun

Best Deals for La Paella Carbon Steel Paella Pan

Bought this after getting tired of cooking paella in a stainless steel frying pan could never create the "socarrat" aka crusty layer of rice at the bottom, and this pan really allows you to do so. Researched different materials and this one seemed to be the most recommended. It's quite wide my first time using it I had leftover paella for days! So keep in mind that if you don't have large burners on your stove, you might be using two side-by-side to cook the paella. Because the pan spread across two burners on my stove, the key was to keep moving it so that no two spots became "hot spots" and to ensure the rice cooked evenly. I am hoping this is a pan I keep for years so far it's seemed perfect.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because the instructions it came with said to simmer the pan with a dash of white vinegar before the first use to get the film/coating off the surface. I did so then washed and dried it, and it left the pan looking dull and slightly worn even though it was brand new. Not that it takes away from its functionality, it just won't look new and shiny any more.
