To give a little background I had never cooked with cast iron prior to this set. I grew up with teflon, tried out the "titanium waterless cookware" (which was super expensive) and everything burned. I went back to teflon, but my last set was getting all scratched up and needed replacing so I was looking into other options. I had heard through my best friend who is a nutritionist that cast iron is the healthiest and best, but was intimidated by the maintenance. Long story short, after researching everything I decided for the price it was worth trying (half the cost of a Rachael Ray or Paula Deen teflon set). I'm so glad I did! This really is super easy to maintain, I just wipe with a towel after every use and grease slightly with crisco to restore the sheen and they look brand new! I didn't even have to wash or retreat, as they were non stick right out of the box. I liked that they cook evenly and the only other real "adjustment" I had to make to my cooking style is remembering to wear an oven mit when handling. I'm super pleased with this set and highly recommend it!

I took other people's advice and seasoned it before I used it and it works wonderfully. I love how well it cooks my food and it is worth the extra TLC of seasoning it after I use it.

I rarely write reviews even though I buy so much stuff on amazon. This cast iron cook set is absolutely awesome. It is such a good value for the money (don't even talk to me about the $1400 All Clad set I just bought). I bought this for camping but have used it for regular cooking and it works so well. I researched seasoning the iron and decided that I would season with a thin coat of flax seed oil at 500 degrees for an hour. I did this 2 nights in a row and then cooked with them (turn your oven exhaust fan on when seasoning or your smoke detectors will blast awaydont ask me how I know this). One site said do 6 thin coats over 6 days which I may do eventually. Even after 2 thin coats, there was no sticking to chicken curry in the frying pan, and baked banana bread in the dutch oven. I coated a paper towel with oil and left it in the bottom (youtube dutch oven camping trick) and the bread just slid out when turned upside down. The part that did touch the side just wiped off with a paper towel. No washing, no soaking, no scouring needed. The key is keep the iron dry, don't soak it, keep it well oiled after use (I put a little flax seed oil on after each use). Iron is so much healthier than teflon. It's so much cheaper than aluminum/copper/steel. I want to send the All Clad back now..

Honest reviews on Lodge 5-Piece Cast Iron Cookware Set, Black

Received well before the scheduled delivery (rcvd 9/5-scheduled del 9/13). I am extremely pleased that these are still made in the USA and the only cast iron still made in the USA. Makes me feel kinda proud that I am supporting a US business.

I have become so disappointed in the pots and pans they are manufacturing lately. I purchased a brand-new set of t-fal a year ago, and already, the finish is flaking off. The "green" pans are a total lie. Enamel ware eventually chip. Both my mother and grandmother used cast iron and never, ever had any problems with them so, I figured, why not go back to the last thing I knew was the best? Besides, fried chicken always tasted the best when fried in a cast iron frying pan!

These came ready to use right out of the box, but still, I rinsed them, dried them, and put a coating of Crisco Shortening on them. Yes, shortening or lard...that's the way it used to be done and still should be done. So far, I've used the frying pan for, you guessed it, fried chicken and I couldn't be happier with the results! You just have to remember to use a lower heat because the heat travels better in cast iron. Also, the handles do get hot so you just can't grab onto them to move the pan. I tinkered with the idea of getting the handle covers, but the reviews are so mixed that I'll just continue to use the pot holders...just like grandma and mom. At least I know they work properly. There are some other pieces that I may purchase, but this is the major pieces needed and I'm so glad they came in a set.

Thank you Lodge and thank you Amazon for carrying this set.

This set is currently listed for $107. I just put all these items in my cart individually and it totals $68.32. I love my lodge cast iron, but for the life of me I can't figure out why the set costs more than the pieces purchased individually. If you're interested in this set (and it's a great combo) do the math first to find out which way is cheapest.

Also, season your pans a few times before using them. I rub on a thin coat of coconut oil, put them in a 350 degree oven for an hour, then let cool. A few times of this and they are amazing to use.

UPDATE: Instead of using coconut oil, I now use avocado oil. Both are healthy oils, but the avocado oil has a higher smoking point. Above that temperature the oil could possibly turn carcinogenic so I go with the oil with the higher smoking point. Massimo Gusto Extra Virgin Avocado Oil, 1 Liter Glass Bottles (Pack of 2)

Imperial 24 Quart Stockpot With Glass Lid, Hammertone
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I have no hesitation recommending this pot to others. I purchased the 8.5 Qt model. Here are some of the things you might want to know.

The knob on the lid has a ridge around the top that makes it easy to grip and control even with an oven mitt.

The handles do stay cool. Even after bringing a full pot of pasta to boil till done the handles were cool to the touch. I would still use mitts to drain to avoid contact with the pot body. But being able to grab the handles to hold the pot steady while stirring was nice.

Filled to 2/3rds full with water and 32oz of spaghetti there was still over a quarter of the depth left. That allowed me to bring the pot to boil on high with out boiling over. Unlike previous pots, there was no splash over onto the cook top. No clean up! The bottom surface is an exact match for the surface of my 9" burner on our ceramic cook top. The bottom surface is flat and sits flush with no wobbling. When bringing the water to boil there was 100% coverage of boil bubbles across the bottom and during cooking there was even boiling thru out the pasta.

The non-stick interior is as it's supposed to be, non-stick. The hammertone exterior came clean with a rinse under the faucet and wiping with a damp cloth.

The handles are large enough to get a good grip on but don't stick out as far as some of the others. A plus to, me to save some storage space.

Overall an excellent value.

This is neither a great pot nor a terrible one it's more of an in-betweener. The pot doesn't seem very sturdy, but it works well for college students. I've used the pot for frying, boiling, simmering and general cooking and have had no problems with food sticking or burning. It does a great job at heating food evenly.

The handles are a bit on the large side and the glass of the lid makes noises when simply removed from the hot pot (like ice dropped in water except without the cracking), but so far I have found nothing to actually worry about. Cleaning is pretty simple. I recommend hand-washing the pot because I'm not sure how many dishwasher cycles it could handle.

I'm pleased with the pot, but like I said, anyone looking for serious cooking might want to purchase something more durable.

Umm, It seems bigger than my imagination. Its heating capability is very good. And its special material makes it easy to wash. The manual says it shows the greatest effect with medium heat, thus I didn't dare to heat it at high heating even once, which made the overall cooking time longer.

Honest reviews on Imperial Aluminum Stockpots with Glass Lid

Not only is this thing huge, but nothing sticks. When I clean it, I rarely ever have to scrub it. Just run it under hot soapy water, and stuff glides off it. Amazing.

We have had this item for several months, and it has done what it was meant to do.

I purchased this because we needed more room for soups, vegetables, etc. The 10 quarts give plenty of room.

Some of the Positives of the stockpot are the price and clear lid. Also, it is incredibly easy to clean and we have used it with a variety of meals.

One of the Negatives I have noticed is that the handles seem a little flimsy. You get what you pay for, I guess.

You will like this if you just need a big stockpot and don't want to spend a fortune. I am sure you can get your money out of it.

You won't like this if you are a professional cook, or only buy top of the line products.

Cheap Nordic Ware Deep Dish Pizza Pan, 14 by 2 Inch

Nordic Ware Deep Dish Pizza Pan, 14 by 2 Inch
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

This is the deep dish pizza pan you grow old with. It's of the highest quality and the thick rolled edge ensures it will not warp. We made a deep dish pizza tonight using Cooks Illustrated Deep Dish Pizza recipe. This particular recipe is for 2 9 inch deep dish pizzas, but works like a dream for one 14 inch pizza. The only deviation from the recipe was we added 1 1/2 lbs of spicy Italian sausage. The pizza came out so good that our boys freaked out and now that's all they want to eat. it was one of those meals where after one bite everyone smiles and praises it. It was the best I've ever had. For the cornmeal naysayers, 1/4 cup of cornmeal in the dough recipe made for the best tasting deep dish crust that's ever passed my lips.

This pan is soooo nice and it's big. Be aware that this really is a huge pan. When I make a regular 16 inch pizza stone pizza I can feed 4 of us (2 slices each). This pan feeds 5 with deep dish. We served a small salad and cut the pizza into 8 slices. My wife was stuffed from one piece and two of us ate 1 1/2 slices each. The other two boys had 2 slices each. The boys must be stuffed because they always let us know when we haven't fed them enough. I love this pan and I'm not sure how soon we will return to thin crust pizza. This pan is made in the U.S. and I'm actually proud to mention this because it's so nice. Great job NordicWare.

Edit: Just placed my order for another Nordicware 14" deep dish pan. Timmy wants deep dish for his birthday and uncle Bob is coming over. For this price, it's worth it to have some leftovers to bring to work. I'm the soon to be proud owner of two of these amazing pans.

The pan uses heavy gauge aluminum and has rolled edges for additional stability. It is truly professional quality, and it should last for several generations! I coated it with oil and baked it for 30 minutes at 500 F to season it prior to first use for pizza. Consequently, pizza does not stick.

Love this pan, it is very well made and should last my kids life time let alone my own and I love the fact it is made in USA, makes me feel good.

Only thing is the size mentioned on the title of this product 14" round 2" deep pan, is not really accurate.

It does say in the "Product Detail": Product Dimensions: 15 x 15 x 1.8 inches ; 1.8 pounds

But many may not look there and just go by the title of the item and it doesn't say if that is inside or outside dimensions.

I upload a photo of the label that came on the pan to Amazon, it states: Outside 15 in x 15 in x 1.75 in

the inside diameter is not listed on label, but I measured it as: 14 in x 14 in x ~1.75 in

So the inside width is correct but depth is off by 1/4 in. Not a big deal to me, but just an FYI to those who may really want a 2" deep pan.

If I was to ding this on anything, it would be it is hand wash only. If it could be washed in Dishwasher this would be perfect. As it is I sometimes have to soak a few hours (usually let it soak overnight and hand wash next morning). Other than that it is worth the price I paid eighteen fifty.

Honest reviews on Nordic Ware Deep Dish Pizza Pan, 14 by 2 Inch

This is a nice American made product (which is why I bought it)

What can you say? It is a nice and thick and well constructed aluminum pan that will last me a lifetime.

This pan is terrific! Cooks evenly, doesn't stick (though if you use more corn meal in your crust it sticks a little but is not really a problem), is very sturdy, and the price is right. It also works great as a water bath for cooking cheesecakes. Highly recommended! I've made some awesome pizzas with this pan. Look for Malnati's Pizza recipes and you won't be sorry!! I no longer feel that I need to move back to Chicago:-)

for those of you with glass or ceramic stove tops: this pan does not stay flat! It is fine when cold, but once heated (even to medium), it starts warping. Still fries fine, but the heat will not be distributed as evenly as one would wish...

Otherwise nice looking pan and seems like a nice non-stick surface.

I never thought I would be writing a review for a frying pan, but this pan has inspired me to do so. We needed something in our kitchen that could be at home on the stove or in the oven and clean easily. This pan fits the bill and then some. I have been using it now for about 3 weeks and so far it has perfectly cooked anything I have put in it. Pork Chops? NO problem and NO sticking. Turkey Legs? Tender, juicy and again, NO STICKING at all. I have not had to use ANY oil or grease to aide in browning. The lid fits like a glove and let's you see the food on the other side. This pan is deep enough to trap all the meats natural juices and using the cover you can get a good self basting action out of it as well.

The only thing so far that surprised me is how HOT the handles get. This is only true of oven use, but bear in mind the handles STAY HOT long after the pan itself has cooled and you need to handle them with a pot holder, or two as was the case for me. I also am not attempting to clean the pan until it has fully cooled off so ensure no warping or buckling of the metal or premature flaking of the non stick surface. Speaking of cleaning, what used to take me 5 minutes of heavy scrubbing or much longer with other pans, is now a non issue! This beauty cleans in less than one minute and looks brand new afterwards.

So is this worth the asking price (currently 50 dollars) ? You bet it is! I consider it a bargain and if this skillet lasts more than a few years then I will have got my money's worth many times over. HIGHLY recommended!

REVIEW UPDATE 11-21-2010: After using this pan for more than a month I am still 100% satisfied! I have cooked whole roast chickens to perfection in this with enough room to use the lid. The non stick coating remains perfectly intact with no damage to the finish from heavy oven use and cleans up with just soap and water and a soft dish cloth. A truly fine piece of kitchen equipment.....

ANOTHER UPDATE 8-3-2011: One last progress report. This pan has held up beyond my expectations to constant and sometimes extreme use. It has been in the oven repeatedly for hours on end, cooking chops, potatoes, full chickens and even a turkey. The non stick surface has not worn off one little bit. It still comes perfectly clean each time with little to no effort and looks 99% new except for a very slight baked on grease discoloration on the handle. No warping of any kind and the handle grip looks and feels the same as the day we purchased it. Honestly, this really is a great piece of cookware and I am planning to add more Calphalon pots and pans to my kitchen.

Best Deals for Simply Calphalon Nonstick 12" Jumbo Fryer

This is the pan that you can cook anything in. Great for cooking stir fry or pan fry dumplings. The non-stick coating is excellent. Easy to wash and clean. Well-made hinges. Good quality pot. Love that it comes with lid. The pot is not as heavy as I thought, which makes it easier to wash in the sink.

The only con I have is that the smaller handle still gets a little hot and the rubber grip on that handle seems like it might come off one day if not careful. Other than that, we use this pot very frequently (several times a week) and enjoy it very much. If using this pot, I highly recommend cooking with bamboo or wood utensils so you won't scratch up the non-stick coating. I would recommend this pot to others and would buy again.

Honest reviews on Simply Calphalon Nonstick 12" Jumbo Fryer

I'm actually doing research to replace this pan,and was surprised to see it got such high reviews. I've had it for three years and as all the other reviewers said, it is awesome for function and nonstick-ness in the beginning. I love it and use it at least once every other day. However I feel it didn't last very long at all for the last 6 months it has been performing poorly and is no longer nonstick. Not peeling, just the layer of coating is very thin, discolored and sticks horribly. I never put it in the dishwasher, don't use abrasive pads/cleaners, never use anything but plastic/wood/silicone utensils but the coating just didn't last. I don't see anything else out there that seems to perform better so I may just buy this pan again and consider it is the price to pay for 2 years worth of use. Just wanted to add this review as someone who's had it for a while. It is the exact same "Simply Calphalon" but I bought it from Bed Bath and Beyond.

I'm from China and I use this to cook Chinese dishes. It is fantastic with glass top ranges.

Normally, the problem with most fry pans is that they are not deep enough for cooking chinese food. When you stir, the food comes out. On the other hand, the pans that 'tall' enough for real chinese cooking are normally have a very large and flat bottom. That's not good because the sauce does not contact the material well (in most chinese dishes, you start with just a little sauce by mixing vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, salt etc. it's not that much to cover those gigantic flat bottoms). Don't get me wrong. This has flat bottom too. But it's not that large. It also has a decent thickness for heat conduction.

Overall, this is the best choice I can find under one benjamin. Certainly gas range with *round* bottom fryer/pan is the best for chinese cooking. however, since not everyone here has gas range (i have never seen a non-gas range in China), we have to settle for this, don't we?

Cheap Zyliss Spoon

Zyliss Spoon
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I had a plastic serving spoon that I'd been using for years and didn't realize how much I relied on it until it snapped one day. I looked all over for a similar spoon locally and after coming hope empty handed, off to amazon I went. This was the closest in appearance to the one I had and I was SO please when it arrived because not only was it similar to the one I had it was better. It was much much stronger and the scoop really holds a lot. My only issue with this spoon is the 'scoop' part has turned dark green which sort-of freaks me out. I mentioned it to my husband and he thought I was nuts until I showed him. I keep meaning to contact the company to see what they say but with a 6 month old I never seem to have the time. Other than the fact that it's green... I'd give this 5 stars but had to deduct one for the color change ;-) I'll update if I ever get a chance to contact them.

UPDATE: I contacted Zyliss shortly after writing this review. Customer Service was very nice, asked for a picture and said they'd ship another spoon out to me. I did have to wait almost a month to get it but at least I have a black spoon once again. Now that my spoon isn't some weird color I'd give it 5 stars.

About three years ago I purchased two of these spoons. I particularly liked these for a number of reasons: (1) cost was reasonable at around $7 with the 4 for 3 promotion and super saver shipping; (2) the design was above average, grey with splash of white in the handle; (3) the balance of the handle is strong but not too heavy; (4) there is excellent workmanship, and (5) the size of the spoon makes it work for both cooking and serving. One of my spoons looks just as good as when I purchased it; these do not scuff or show scratches. The other one met with an accident; it somehow ended up at the bottom of the dishwasher during a cleaning, and was damaged/melted because it rested on the dryer element. That has taught me about being sure to load these serving items correctly in the dishwasher. So, I'm very happy to be getting two more. I note that Zyliss has revised the size of the spoon somewhat; it's now a little narrower and deeper, which I think are improvements. Also, be aware that there is no implied warranty on this spoon, although the label does provide the manufacturer's address, toll-free phone, and website address should you have any questions or issues.

Best Deals for Zyliss Spoon

This is a fairly good spoon. I like that the bowl of the spoon is not attached to the handle low down. A low seam allow gunk to build up and isn't very sanitary. This spoon is just the right length for stirring in a pot and it's well balanced. The deep bowl of the spoon makes it handy for serving as well. The reason it did not get more stars is because of an oddity with the design. I find that it will not stay submerged in liquid. It pops to the top, turns over and floats. Easy enough to live with unless the spoon has been left to dry with food on it. It's difficult to soak a spoon that won't stay down in the water. Despite that, I would probably buy another one because the price is fair and it doesn't scratch my non-stick pans.

Honest reviews on Zyliss Spoon

Zyliss, while being a relatively unknown company, makes a great line of kitchen products. Their salad spinner is the best I've ever used. On to the spoon...

I love cooking with my fancy copper pots and pans, but man do they scratch easily with stainless utensils. The obvious solution is to use wooden spoons. I love wooden spoons, but I don't love constantly replacing them when they splinter or split. This spoon is a great compromiseit won't scratch like steel will but lasts much longer than wood. It's also dishwasher safe. I've used it over high heat and it has not melted or warped. I have never noticed it imparting any "plasticy" flavors to even delicate sauces as some plastic products do. It loses a star because of the size. The bowel of the spoon is rather small, which makes ladling sauces and soups from a pot impossible. Of course that's what ladles are for, but hey I want it all for a 5* review.

Good spoon for stirring and general cooking. The stem seems a trifle thin, but it doesn't bend or interfere with stirring or other cooking motions. Very easy to clean and long enough to deal with large pots--but short enough to hang from a hook on the side of my refrigerator.

I have had my Nissan Thermal Cookware for a few years now. And have been hunting to buy more for extended family. The product is very simple to use. Just bring your stews or soups or meats (like Mexican style carne asada or Irish corne beef) to a boil on your stovetop, put the pot in the thermal enclosure... and leave the pot to self cook the meal for a few hours. It's great!

I'm really phobic about leaving electrical devises on when I'm not home. And I'm very happy that this Nissan cookware requires NO ELECTRICITY! I recommend the product because it is easy to clean and safer than using a crockpot.

I sure hope Amazon is able to keep this product available & 'in-stock'!!!

What a great idea! I've been using one for sometime now and I'm amazed at what it can be used for and how great things taste when cooked with. It's a must have item for your kitchen and more! Here's a similar model: Thermos Thermal Cooker RPC4500 4.5L Thermo Pot I also found some great info, recipes and demonstrations on using a thermal cooker at this weblog:

Worth every penny.

I don't like the idea of leaving things plugged in and on when I'm not homme, fearing an electrical fire.

I used this thing when I lived in the dorms at school (with a good hotplate to get it started for ten minutes, then you put it in the thermal insulator and let it stay there)

I'd come home from a long day of classes to a full hot meal. So awesome.

Now, I use it to cook my steel cut oats, and make my batch for the week.

I have taken it camping as well, so I set everything for lunch going, and then I have all day to enjoy, and at lunchtime everything is hot and ready to serve.

If something happened to mine, I'd definitely get another!

Honest reviews on Thermos Nissan Thermal Cookware

I saw this one and another similar kind demonstrated at an emergency preparedness meeting where "GetPreparedStuff.com" demonstrated a number of different kinds of emergency and camp worthy cooking equipment and ideas. This thermal cooker was one of them. I loved it a lot! I'm planning to get one of their "Sun Ovens" and a really neat little stainless steel burner/cooker they had at the meeting that had a battery run fan that burned wood, pinecones, or whatever else that burns, as well. Compact and great for camping or whatever.

I ordered two of these thermos's here on Amazon. At the meeting I had some yummy chicken stew served over rice that was cooked in them that was made from: Cubed chicken, 2 cans cream of chicken soup, 2 cans cream of celery soup, 2 c. water, chopped onion and some dried onion, carrots, potatoes, & Lawry's Seasoning Salt. When making the stew, you boil the raw meat and veggies, stirring frequently, for about 15 minutes on the stove and put in the thermos to finish cooking til dinnertime. The rice took less water when cooked in the thermos--8 c. water, 5 c. rice, and a dash of salt. It was done in about an hour and was still perfectly moist hours later. Each dish was cooked separately in a thermos type cooker. At the meeting, I also tried a delicious whole wheat cereal that had also been cooked in this thermos cooker using 2 c. water, 1 c. whole wheat, and a pinch of salt. Bring to boil on stove, boil for 5 min, and put in thermos to finish cooking overnight or for 6-7 hours. A super nutritious breakfast ready for you when you wake up! Serve it with milk or half and half, sugar, butter, fruit, etc.

I was also pretty excited about the super easy clean up--DW for the interior pot and just a quick wipe out for the external thermos cooker. I really liked this thermos's durable exterior stainless steel finish. The durability was evident because the "Thermos Nissan Thermal Cookware" still looked like new after having been used for several years by the people who brought food cooked in them to the meeting.

Another thing I loved was the idea of being able to leave something cooking and not having to worry about a fire or burning/overcooking the food while I'm gone, etc. Nice! The convenience of a crock pot without the additional electricity cost or concern of a fire starting while you are running errands or asleep. You probably want to confirm with the specific manufacturer, but as I recall from the meeting, this kind of cooker will keep food hot and cooking for about 20 hours, staying above the temp (140 degrees) where bacteria can grow, which is much longer than the other kinds that have Styrofoam insulation. I think it would be very handy to have one of these in any kind of emergency or power outage due to tornadoes, earthquake, etc.

You could keep things hot or cold in this thermos cooker for an extended period of time. I'm pretty sure you could get something started over a fire or grill and let it finish cooking in the thermos. I imagine it would keep a carton of ice cream from melting on a 4th of July picnic and also be great for taking hot dishes to a picnic or potluck without spilling and keep them hot/cold too! I very, very quickly touched the bottom of the interior pot after being in the thermos 8 hours, and it was still hot enough to burn you! I'm very excited to get mine and hope to post a follow up here after I've tried it out!

If you prepare food for people and need to take it with you, this Cook N' Carry is totally worth the money. It's lightweight, but very sturdy, making it the perfect takealong item. We use it for get-togethers and church functions all the time, and it's SO handy where there's no outlet and MUCH easier than bringing a heavy slow cooker sloshing with sauce/soup/stew.

It's got dual double-walled vaccuum walls, meaning food stays hot (or cold) much longer than you ever thought possible. You can cook something now and serve it hot hours later. Simple design with a great carry handle, and it holds quite a bit of food. The stainless steel is super easy to clean. Highly recommended.

Some people mention using this as a slow cooker, where you just let it cook in its own heat, but why would you pay $150 for that when a slow cooker (with a timer) can be had for $20-30?

As much as I like to cook, I don't like cluttering up my kitchen with gadgets that don't earn their keep. This one does!

It's very handy for liquids or dry ingredients, having 6 different measuring columns on the sides to measure either dry or liquid ingredients in cups, ounces or ml. The liquids conveniently have that extra grace section at the top so that you don't have to fill to the edge, as you do with the dry ingredients, such as flour. What I especially appreciate it for are the sticky, gooey things like peanut butter, honey, molasses, butter, etc. It's incredibly easy to measure out exactly how much you need; a quick push up from the bottom and the ingredient is completely ejected just where you need it. You can measure as little as 1/8cp or as much as 2 cps. It's easy to clean it afterwards, too.

This is great for measuing yogurt, applesauce, molasses, honey and stuff like that. There is no need to use this for normal liquid or dry stuff but when you work with those other things, you can measure accurately and get it all out. I was inspired to buy this watching Alton Brown use either it or a similar product.

I've only used it twice now and the 2nd time I used it the top of the plunger separated completely since it was not glued in properly as I've seen people complain about in other reviews. Naturally this happened just 2 days after the 30 day return policy ended from Amazon. I could understand if I was rough with this or had soaked it for a long time etc. but for it to fall apart this quickly? Come on, I've been very gentle using it and carefully hand washed it. The plunger top just popped off when adjusting it as instructed.

The rest of it seems to made of very sturdy plastic so I was very disappointed that it broke so quickly. I'd give it more stars since when it was working it did what I bought it for, measuring sticky dough and getting it all out of the measuring cup.

Honest reviews on KitchenArt Pro 55210 Adjust-A-Cup 2-Cup Measuring Cup

It does exactly what you'd think it does. It's actually pretty cool, but so far I haven't actually used it as much as I thought I would. For some reason, I still find a 2-cup measuring cup more useful.

Update:

I've had this for several months now, and I've noticed that even though the item is dishwasher safe and there's no actual damage, water gets trapped inside the plunger-piece and sloshes around after I run it through the dishwasher. Doesn't affect the usability, just kind of annoying to hear it sloshing around.

When I first got this, I was very excited. I felt as if I had beat the system by purchasing such a versatile, all-in-one tool.

I used it the first few times and it was just great. It did a great job helping me perfectly level off gooey and semi solid ingredients. Ricotta, honey, and sour cream all were measured out well and easily.

About 2 weeks after having it, I noticed 2 things:

1) the rubber gasket that seals the cup started to curl and warp. It started trapping ingredients and slipping when full like another reviewer mentioned.

2) even worse, the body filled with a little water. This was from hand washing, no dishwasher. No way to remove the water.

After another week or so with the cannister filled with water, the black base popped off. Another reviewer mentioned the same problem.

The concept is great, the execution is poor. I really wanted to love this thing.

This fry pan is by far the best i have ever owned. Solid construction, even heating and the quality is second to none. A bit pricey but i guess you get what you pay for. If i could i would give this product a 10. A must by for people who like cooking with an electric skillet. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

I cook simple meals since it is just the two of us and I use this pan several times a week. I debated between the 14 inch and 16 inch pan and decided on the 16 inch. It is large. Probably more than the two of us need but it really doesn't matter. It cleans up with a wipe of a towel and it has even heating.

We had an older Waring electric skillet that was losing it's non-stick coating and needed replacement. This thing is in a whole different category. Much larger and does a much better job of maintaining a constant temperature. The construction is very high quality. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Honest reviews on CucinaPro 1654 Stainless Steel Electric Skillet Non-Stick Interior

My husband and I received the 16 inch skillet as a wedding gift 8 years ago. We hadn't registered for it and thought that it was too large to store and wouldn't be used very often. We were wrong. This is one of the appliances that we would never give up. It still cooks evenly and the non-stick is still perfect. It is large enough to make full breakfast for our family of four. I am confident that it will hold up for years to come and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality skillet.

PRO: If you need a large size skillet and want one of the highest quality this is the one to get. It's bright stainless finish and see-thru lid will impress everyone who see's it. I needed to replace a very old 12" skillet and wanted one a little larger. This CucinaPro 1654 is just what I was looking for. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

CON: A little on the heavy side. To me this is a minor thing.

I didn't expect too much from and $8 washboard, and that's pretty much just what I got. Its a nice size, but you can tell it was cheaply and quickly made. The wood is still raw and needs sanding if you are the kind to fret about splinters, and mine came in with a crack in the thin headboard.

Either way if you just need a quick temporary washboard or a first washboard, it's nice and it will do the trick.

It also gets bonus points for being made of all wood and metal and not plastic.

Have used it twice and it works. All raw wood thinking about water-proofing it so it will last longer. In my opinion, it is well constructed. The washboard wasn't loose and is getting the job done. I used to wash undergarments and t-shirts. Loved the size, wide enough to do towels also. I am very pleased with the product.

A washboard is not a musical instrument, yard furniture, or home decor. My search for a washboard was strange because even at swap meets people wanted exorbitant prices because they thought there was some appeal beyond its intended use. Even this one, when I purchased it, was half the 20 dollar asking price.

So it is built from a soft wood and thin aluminum, but this makes it light and durable. It sits perfectly in a tub or wash basin and holds the soap in the tray well. Some of the wood splintered when wet at the lip of the tray, but again we aren't talking about the hoover dam or pyramids or engineering milestones. It is made in Mexico, as it proudly boasts. I believe it to be the best washboard on the market, at least the most accessible, for the price. I purchased this to use camping, specifically to keep in a cabin. It's been there for two years now for everyone to use, and it looks just like it did new.

Honest reviews on Campeon Washboard, Large, Lavadero Grande

It is a nice washboard, but dont touch it, I got little slivers of metal in my hands.

If it is for decorative purposes, it is cool. If you want to play music on it wear a glove.

Didn't have any issues with splintering. Used daily for 3 weeks while the lines for my own washer & dryer were being ran and it held up well. Wish it was a little wider for jeans and other large items, but not a big deal as I still got them done with this. I also live in a hurricane-prone zone so figured this would be good for the aftermath of future storms. And when not in use, it makes for a great wall decor piece in my bathroom. Nice, sturdy, and glad to have it!

I purchased this 12 quart multi-pot because most multi-pots are just too small for a large family to cook pasta and vegetables at the same time. This pot is just the right size for us. We can make 2 lbs. of pasta in the bottom and steam vegetables in the top at the same time. The top basket holds a lot more than most multi-pots. You can cook a full meals worth of vegetables in the top basket since it is at least 3 1/2 inches deep. This pot can easily be a large families everyday pot. We use it for everything since we got it. We can cook the pasta in the stainer pot and just lift out the pasta to serve.

The best part about this pot is that it has the extra thick bottom so I can use it for making soups and stews without anything burning. The pot is tall and narrow so it fits on the stove well with other pots or pans and doesn't crowd out the other burners.

I love the attractive style of the pot. It doesn't have that cheap commercial look so many big pots have.

This multi pot is great. Just the perfect size and fits well on the large rim of the stove (doesn't overlap). The steamer and strainer are also great.

We used this pot once to boil shrimp, then cleaned it with hot water, liquid dish soap, and a plastic scrub brush. The pot now has small pit marks all over the inner surface. We are returning it for a refund. I do not know if it was defective or if other buyers are having a similar experience.

Honest reviews on Oneida 12 Quart Multi Pot

I bought this as it was well priced, I needed a bigger pasta pot and "The Chew" uses this one. It is a bit slow to heat but once hot, works well I do wish the stainless sides were a bit thicker. I found a much heavier 16 qt. multi cooker at Wegman's (their own brand) for the same price.

Not as thick as I would like, but love the versatility and size of this pot. I use it for soup and chili, but will be great for chicken and pastry.

I love cast iron skillets and pans, so my opinion may be a little biased. I like the "gill" because it is perfect for meat and veggies that you want the grill marks on. The #8 lid from the 10 1/2 inch pots fits perfectly and the Lodge brand is high quality as always. Cast iron is not only healthy, they last a life time, are super easy to clean and heat evenly. Very happy with the purchase.

I grill steaks, fish, and bacons using this pan. It pairs wonderfully with a press if you want your bacon flat. The drain pout is good for dumping excess oil/grease from the pan. the grill will leave marks when searing the outside of a steak. Grilling will also leave food bits stuck between grill lines, too.

Here's how you can clean it easily:

After grilling, i stir fry sliced onion and mushrooms (i pick a box with smaller size and wash but not cut them) using the left over grease. After onions and mushrooms are nicely browned and soft, the pan will be clear of any gunk. What's left is just a wipe using paper towel and the pan is good to go for the next run.

Try it, stir fry something that will yield juice after your grilling. You will never have to scrap the pan again.

This is my goto grill pan in my kitchen. I use this for almost any meat I cook. Its a little rough to get used to cleaning cast iron as opposed to a normal pan. However this cooks my food thoroughly and well and is my most used cooking pan in my house. I was especially pleased with the price compared to the other cast iron pans out there. I have had no issues and use this regularly and often.

Honest reviews on Lodge L8GP3 Grill Pan, 10.25-inch

I have just gone back to cast iron after many years of stupid cookware of all types. This grill pan requires very little heat once heated. Do not over heat and it will heat and broil evenly. No cold spots. Cast iron cookware was great in the 60,s and better in 2012. Wash with water, lite soap and a round brush, rinse, dry completely and oil, rub off excess.

This combination package is made of two items that can be purchased separately at a slightly higher price:

* All Clad d5 Stainless Brushed 3Qt Casserole with Lid

* All Clad 3Qt Steamer Insert

The d5 brushed stainless steel finish on the 3Qt Casserole screams "quality" and the pot seems very well constructed. It has a heavy weight and a precision machine feel.

Unfortunately, the steamer insert is no match for the 3Qt casserole. Instead of the d5 stainless finish, it is has a cheaper-looking shiny finish. The rivets on the handle seem much cheaper and crude in comparison. My first thought was that perhaps there was an assembly error at the factory and the wrong steamer insert was placed into the package. But after more research, I realize that there was no mistake. All Clad has coupled their quality "made in America" 3Qt casserole with a significantly inferior "made in China" steamer insert.

I returned it for a refund.

Yep, these ain't cheap but if your serious about your cooking and enjoy your time in the kitchen whisking up your favorite recipe you should consider investing in high quality cookware.

For years I hesitated and settled for good quality imitations such as the Emeril's cookware but finally decided to treat myself to the real thing and find out if they are worth the high prices. Yes they certainty do. No hot spots, better results at lower heat, tight lids that allow even lower heats due to fantastic heat retention (just use a higher initial temperature put the lid on and reduce to low/medium and you get a better result than having to use med/high on other less efficient wares)

I got the same satisfaction than when I decided to buy chef quality knives ... Once you cut and dice with a "real pro knife" you know why it cost $250.

I think of these pots as an investment and a heirloom to pass on to my kids. These things are so well built that you know they will last forever (proper care of course)

I read reviews stating that you will do just as good with the classic trii-ply stainless but these are truly a step ahead. How can two layers of aluminum not be better than one? It keeps a uniform heat over the entire surface and sides at lower temperatures, perfect for braising, slow cooking, stews etc and also quickly searing and pan frying without hot spots trying to shuffle the food around so that each gets a shot at it ... With these the heat is uniform all around, just don't crowed the pieces during the searing process.

Yep I did pay a small fortune for a custom hand picked set but these are worth every penny.

Btw don't get drawn into buying the "sets" you don't really save much except if you really need the huge 8 and 12 qt stock pots and prefer frying pans over skillets.

I selected the 11 and 13 inch skillets with lids, the 1.5 and 3 qt sauce pans, the 3qt casserole steamer combo, the 4 qt sauté pan, the 6 qt deep sauté pot and 6 qt fry basket. That's the equivalent of 16 pieces for the price of their advertised 14 piece set. FYI I keep my Emeril's 6 qt stock pot that I will use for deep frying on my induction portable burner (it has a copper core and I won't suffer if it gets stained with grease frying at higher temperatures)

I prefer skillets and after researching realized that the 13 inch can also be used as a paella pan as they are similar except for the handle.

Word of caution, these are heavy, best suited for men or strong women not afraid to handle them.

Best Deals for All-Clad Brushed Stainless D5 3-Quart Casserole with Lid and Steamer

Finally a top quality steamer that can be used on an induction stove. Medium sized, easy to handle but not too big. Expect to be steaming spinach for 2-4 people regular in there. Double handles will help to spread out the weight, when water is full in the bottom. Looking forward to this set being an always available in my kitchen for small and larger tasks.

Honest reviews on All-Clad Brushed Stainless D5 3-Quart Casserole with Lid and Steamer

Very heavy duty. Heats evenly. Quality material. Have been searching for perfect steamer for family. Definitely worth the extra $ and investment. Better than other products out there. Casserole can be used for cooking purposes. Highly recommend!

It is expansive purchase for a pot. But it saves time and electric and it's safe. I used it for the first time to make beef stew, normally I would have to cook in medium heat for at least a few hours. But with this Hotpan I cooked it with low heat for 30 min and let it sit in the green container over night and it's done. I repeat the process again, because I wanted even more tender. The result of the stew broth is more clear than the old cooking method.

Amazon shipped me a black Hotpan the first time, after raising the issue, a green Hotpan came very quickly to solve the problem. Thanks.
