This is a great product, and it was a welcome addition to my cookware. My only complaint has to do with the utensils that came along with it. I was cooking something in a frying pan and the spatula that I was using actually melted! Well, that did not bother me all that much because I bought this for the cookware, not the utensils and they can be replaced. It's a great set and "works" just beautifully!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This Bodum is now the 4th coffee grinder in my kitchen. Historically I've always had one for coffee and another for grinding spices (another common, great use for them). I originally ordered this one because somehow I misread and thought it said that it had variable speed control. It doesn't it's just your basic coffee grinder, but that's not a bad thing.

I currently own a Braun Braun KSM2-WH Aromatic Coffee Grinder, White, a HD designs (which is a cheapy brand from Target or Fred Meyers), and a fancy looking Cuisinart Cuisinart DCG-12BC Grind Central Coffee Grinder, and now this Bodum. For the most part they all do the same thing and have only minor differences which I will describe below:

Primary differences:

The Cuisinart blade actually has a sharpness similar to a knife. I thought this might make it better for grinding spices, which is what I use it for. It may actually grind them up faster, but for the most part the end product is pretty much the same. The other difference is that the blade sits higher in the bowl than the other grinders. The drawback to this is that if you want to grind a small bit of spice, the blade may be sitting above and you have to jiggle it a bit for the spices to make contact. For coffee I don't see that the higher blade has any downside.

The Braun looks and operates almost identical to the cheapy HD designs grinder. For the most part these two grinders are identical with only minor differences, such as the ability to wrap the cord around the Braun for storage. both operate equally well.

The Bodum operates pretty much like the others. The blade is lower in the bowl than all the rest, which would be good for spices, but not really any difference for coffee beans that I can tell. The main difference with the Bodum is that the cord is much shorter at 6 inches, so it needs to sit really close to the plug. The cord wraps up underneath for storage, and in my opinion the Bodum grinder is attractive looking. I have the black one.

One is easier to clean than the rest:

If you clean your grinder between grindings I will say that the Cuisinart is the easiest to clean because the bowl is separate from the main housing and is essentially one stainless steel piece. Plus with the blades higher you can get underneath them better. The other units all set the bowls within the plastic housing, so there is a seam where the bowl meets the housing where coffee, spices, etc. can get stuck. If you were to use one grinder for both coffee and spices you may end up with spicy coffee or coffee tasting spices since it's much harder to clean the tiny grinds out of that seam area. However, if you're not doing both then it doesn't really matter.

All pretty much the same with minor differences:

I honestly can't say that there is much performance difference between any of them. Unless you're going to grind spices and coffee in the same grinder I would suggest you buy your grinder based on how it looks, since they all operate the same and produce the same end product. However if you are grinding both coffee and spices in the same unit then go with the Cuisinart.

Summary: Works well but not any better than other brands I've used. It's good looking if you like the look and will only grind coffee in it then go for it. If you're going to also grind spices then consider the Cuisinart.

I purchased this coffee grinder because of its light weight, the grippy rubber outer covering, and the fact that I've been happy with other Bodum grinders I've owned. When my arthritis is acting up, the weight and grippy attributes are just what the doctor ordered.

I saw the review remarks about the short (six-inch) cord, but figured I could live with that, given the weight and grip benefits.

The reality is that, when the grinder comes out of the box, it does have about six inches of cord emerging from the back of the grinder.

The further reality is that, once the *rest* of the cord is unwound from the cord storage area in the grinder base, it turns out to be about 35-36" long.

So while the cord storage area obviously does an excellent job of hiding what might be "excess cord" for one user, it also allows those so inclined to "let it all hang out" if they wish.

Beyond that, this whirly-blade grinder does its primary coffee grinding job at least as well as or better than the (many) other blade grinders that I've owned or tried. In my opinion, it is faster, more efficient and quieter than most of the other w-blade grinders on the market, including the earlier Bodum C-Mill metal and plastic models that I've owned.

Update: After using this grinder more, I'm even more impressed with it. I load it up with 52-53 grams of coffee beans at a time (close to a full hopper), and it produces a nice, even drip grind in 30 seconds. The coffee is ground much more evenly than with other blade grinders I've used, and in less time. The key to this seems to be that a vortex is immediately formed in the grinding chamber, getting the beans moving quickly through the blades, and keeping the progressively finer ground coffee moving. Darker roast (oily) beans may start to cake up along the sides after 15-20 seconds, but a gentle shake or rocking motion keeps them moving through the process until the desired grind size is reached. I'm glad I bought this grinder, and would recommend it to anyone.

Firstly, I should qualify my remarks by saying that I'm accustomed to using a burr grinder for my coffee beans, and I was skeptical that a blade grinder costing one fourth the price of my old standby would offer anything mildly representing satisfaction.

Was I wrong! This grinder is sleek and simple, and takes up half the space of my pricey stalwart. The directions are straightforward and simple (they're even printed in Danish, Dutch, Swedish, Portuguese, Finnish and Russian in addition to the standard Spanish, French, German, Italian and English).

Installation is simple: place on a flat surface, keep cord and grinder away from heat, fill not more than amount the cap can hold, cover, plug in and depress the red lid button. Grind no more than 60 seconds at a time, allowing a 60 second rest between grindings so as not to overheat the motor. There is no blade or grind setting.

I use a Melitta filter, so prefer an extra fine grind. The Bodum accomplished this in less than 30 seconds. Cleanup is a snap. Do not wash and certainly avoid immersing any part of the unit in water. A small brush dislodges any left-over coffee particles and a paper towel will restore the contents cup to a spotless state. It's that simple, and I got a perfect grind. Note: this grinder is a light-duty model, suited to home, not commercial use.

Two enthusiastic thumbs up for this appliance. No kitchen should be without one, at least if you're a coffee snob as I am.

Additional comments: I was sent this grinder in black, however, it comes in several bright, stylish colors (love the red!), also, it can be used for grinding spices and nuts where previous models could not. Finally, the cord stores in the base, allowing only as much as is needed to be visible.

However I found it difficult to see how fine the coffee was ground because of the black interior of the grinder, nor did I think it ground the coffee evenly, nor was it easy to clean the coffee seemed to stick to the interior more than in other grinders. I prefer either the Braun or Krups both of which cost less, to this Bodum Bistro Electric Coffee Grinder. Actually, my Waring Blender works very well as a coffee grinder too and will grind a larger quantity.

Cheap Zyliss Spoon

I had a plastic serving spoon that I'd been using for years and didn't realize how much I relied on it until it snapped one day. I looked all over for a similar spoon locally and after coming hope empty handed, off to amazon I went. This was the closest in appearance to the one I had and I was SO please when it arrived because not only was it similar to the one I had it was better. It was much much stronger and the scoop really holds a lot. My only issue with this spoon is the 'scoop' part has turned dark green which sort-of freaks me out. I mentioned it to my husband and he thought I was nuts until I showed him. I keep meaning to contact the company to see what they say but with a 6 month old I never seem to have the time. Other than the fact that it's green... I'd give this 5 stars but had to deduct one for the color change ;-) I'll update if I ever get a chance to contact them.

UPDATE: I contacted Zyliss shortly after writing this review. Customer Service was very nice, asked for a picture and said they'd ship another spoon out to me. I did have to wait almost a month to get it but at least I have a black spoon once again. Now that my spoon isn't some weird color I'd give it 5 stars.

About three years ago I purchased two of these spoons. I particularly liked these for a number of reasons: (1) cost was reasonable at around $7 with the 4 for 3 promotion and super saver shipping; (2) the design was above average, grey with splash of white in the handle; (3) the balance of the handle is strong but not too heavy; (4) there is excellent workmanship, and (5) the size of the spoon makes it work for both cooking and serving. One of my spoons looks just as good as when I purchased it; these do not scuff or show scratches. The other one met with an accident; it somehow ended up at the bottom of the dishwasher during a cleaning, and was damaged/melted because it rested on the dryer element. That has taught me about being sure to load these serving items correctly in the dishwasher. So, I'm very happy to be getting two more. I note that Zyliss has revised the size of the spoon somewhat; it's now a little narrower and deeper, which I think are improvements. Also, be aware that there is no implied warranty on this spoon, although the label does provide the manufacturer's address, toll-free phone, and website address should you have any questions or issues.

This is a fairly good spoon. I like that the bowl of the spoon is not attached to the handle low down. A low seam allow gunk to build up and isn't very sanitary. This spoon is just the right length for stirring in a pot and it's well balanced. The deep bowl of the spoon makes it handy for serving as well. The reason it did not get more stars is because of an oddity with the design. I find that it will not stay submerged in liquid. It pops to the top, turns over and floats. Easy enough to live with unless the spoon has been left to dry with food on it. It's difficult to soak a spoon that won't stay down in the water. Despite that, I would probably buy another one because the price is fair and it doesn't scratch my non-stick pans.

I love cooking with my fancy copper pots and pans, but man do they scratch easily with stainless utensils. The obvious solution is to use wooden spoons. I love wooden spoons, but I don't love constantly replacing them when they splinter or split. This spoon is a great compromiseit won't scratch like steel will but lasts much longer than wood. It's also dishwasher safe. I've used it over high heat and it has not melted or warped. I have never noticed it imparting any "plasticy" flavors to even delicate sauces as some plastic products do. It loses a star because of the size. The bowel of the spoon is rather small, which makes ladling sauces and soups from a pot impossible. Of course that's what ladles are for, but hey I want it all for a 5* review.

I bought this steamer about a year ago, and from the first, I just loved it. I had no idea how much better veggies taste steamed than boiled. Much more flavorful and fresh-tasting! It fits both my small and medium sized Revere cookware pots. So easy to use just push down into the pot and steam away. When done, just toss into the dishwasher. It comes out looking like new every time. So far I have only used it for veggies, but would definitely consider steaming other types of food.

I would have given this five stars, but I find it very hard to get it out of the pan once the veggies are done. It's a pretty tight fit even in a medium pan and when I pull on the loops to get the whole steamer out with forks or tongs, etc., it just flips over and the veggies end up in the water. You really need three hands to get it out correctly one to hold the handle of the pot, and two to yank the steamer out by the loops. You could just scoop the veggies out of the pan without pulling the whole steamer out, but I consider this a flaw in the design.

On the whole, I would recommend this to anyone.

I purchased this because my metal steamer was scratching the bottom of my non-stick pot, but the functionality leaves much to be desired. Because it doesn't fan out like the metal steamer, the sides fold in, reducing useable space and allowing smaller veggies to fall through the cracks (minus one star). Then, once your food is cooked, it's virtually impossible to get it out without everything dropping in the water and having to use a colander (minus two stars). The flat shape is the problem here when trying to pull it out of the pot by the handles, the whole thing just flattens and either turns sideways in the pot (dumping the food in the water) or you end up with a flat steamer and a pile of food that is threatening to fall all over the stove or sink.

I like the concept, but I'm afraid I'll be going back to the metal steamer and just letting my pot get scratched (or maybe buying a cheap thrift-store pot just for steaming), because this one is just too much of a hassle.

These utensils have to be the most attractive thing in my kitchen (besides my wife). Very high quality, and so far very durable. Ergonomically they fit well in your hand (comfortable). I do 99% of the cooking in my household, but yet I find that every time I go to find one of the kitchen meister utensils its in the sink or dishwasher. I have no explanation other than they are so attractive, and my family is drawn towards using them. I wish they would keep there darn hands off them, unless of course they actually start cooking for me (yeah right). It is quite irritating when you go to grab your favorite utensils and you cant find them. I have even found them in my daughters room which just blows my mind? I think I am going to start hiding them where only I know where they are at! Overall great product great price!

Before this purchase I had used the same size of Prestige but the Aluminium version for a couple of months. I was very happy with the quick cooking done in the cooker and hence I thought I want to take the even faster one hard anodized pressure cooker. The food completely cooks and cools in less than an half an hour. I always cook in separators and not dont prefer to cook directly in the pressure cooker. If you cook directly without separators, the cooking time would be much faster. The product is as promised, saves a lot of fuel costs and most of all time. I would highly recommend this !!

I never had a dutch oven before and now I don't know how I lived without it. I use it stovetop to make my tomato sauce, in the oven to make brisket, etc.It's a perfect size for my family dinners. The cleanup on the pot is so easy. Even after baking in the oven for hours, I could just wipe out the inside and it would be clean. Using the mitts are essential though, it gets very hot.

I have many All-Clad products including a set of the original anodized aluminum over stainless steel that is still in very good shape. Quality is usually extraordinary.

This Dutch Oven cooks evenly and heats up quickly. Purchasers should realize that it has integral aluminum handles that heat up which means that you must use the included oven mitts.

This is the only non-stick pot that I own (which is why I purchased it). The coating is inside and outside for easy cleaning. I loved it for three months. Then I noticed a very small area on the inside bottom where the non-stick coating had worn off. Three months later and the worn area is spreading like a rash. This in spite of the fact that I have been exceptionally careful. No metal has ever been anywhere near the inside of the pot (only nylon utensils) and I have cleaned this exclusively with a sponge. No harsh cleansers.

This is disappointing because it is such a great pot, particularly for the money.

I am a big lover of LeCreuset and have many of their pots I also have many All Clad pots. When I saw this pot on SurLa Table for 39.99 free shipping I thought I'd give it a try. I was leary when I got it very light and wondered how it would compete with the cast iron. Yesterday, I made pot roast INCREDIBLE results. Today, pulled pork in the oven same incredible results. The pot is light, non-stick, cleans easily and very very nicely priced. Don't have to kill myself lugging the huge LeCreuset anymore for small roasts this will be my go-to pot. Going to order another now for my sister-in-law who just had her kitchen remodeled. Highly highly recommend.

I bought this skillet for my induction cooktop. It was quite inexpensive. The fact that it doesn't have a lid doesn't bother me, as I have an almost infinite number of lids from many previous cookware sets.... I always keep the lids... you never know when you can use them. I allow my "little one" to use it, along with a few other stainless pans as she is not allowed to use my expensive "tri ply" and enamel coated iron cookware, (due to non compliance with the no metal utensils rule). I don't use anything but silicone and wood utensils in all of my "good" cookware. It performs well and is quite easy to clean, and will be easy to replace should something happen to it.

I bought the set about 4 months ago and absolutly love it. It is sooo easy to clean, and I don't normally like to handwash, and it cooks great. The orange handles are great especially if you have kids that like to help you cook. I have since bought the 8 qt. pasta to add to my original set. Can't say enough good things about this cookware.

I received this cookware December 06 and have been cooking with it everyday since then. It is truly an amazing cookware set. It goes from stove top to oven with no problem. It looks nice hanging on my pot rack in my kitchen even after all of the use it gets from me and my family. The pots cook evenly and the food does not stick making clean up spectacularly fast and easy. I was lucky enough to receive and add to my collection this past Christmas the larger, deep oval skillet for large family dinners. I highly recommend this set for anyone from beginning cooks to very experienced ones.

Nice construction, feel and looks but beware that this set can NOT be used with a flame higher than medium. I was dissapointed that the only time this warning became apparent was after I unwrapped all of the pieces and found the instructions--this certainly wasn't clear in any of the product descriptions that I read.

I'm 16 years old and I love to cook. My family recently moved back home, we were victims of Hurricane Katrina, and we're finally settled in. Needless to say, we needed essential things such as furniture, kitchen supplies and more for our new and (hopefully) permanent home.

I did a bit of research and narrowed my options down to Hard-Anodized Aluminum (like this set) and Stainless Steel. After I found this great set at Bed Bath & Beyond, I went with it and haven't looked back.

This set is great. Each and every piece in this set is amazing and does what it's supposed to do correctly. Since I've gotten the set I've cooked anything and everything, from breakfast in the morning (Eggs are simple and NEVER stick) to dinner at night, you can prepare just about anything with these pots/pans.

They're really, really non stick. I haven't tested them without any type of fat (Oil/Butter) but I bet they'd be fine without it. Regardless, when cooking something like...let's say Eggs, I always toss a pad of butter in the pan (the smallest skillet is probably my favorite pan, just because I love eggs and it's the perfect size!) and the thing practically slips out of the pan when you're ready to serve. Over easy has never been this simple.

The set is also oven ready up to 400 degrees. The lids are great. If you're worried about the orange color clashing with the other colors in your kitchen, don't sweat it; for whatever reason, they seem to fit perfectly in any kitchen. The silicone handles are great and very heat resistant, they pans fit so comfortably in your hands!

All in all, you can't go wrong with this set. Think of your favorite food. It can probably be prepared with the items included in this set.

I have been following the Le Creuset products for some time now. I must admit that I was very tempted to buy a more affordable brand such as Martha Stewart's but I resisted thinking that it's an investment. My daughter has the whole line and she is a chef. My first piece was the 2 3/4 Qt size but found it too small for the majority of dishes I cook for my family of 4. (Although it's great for side dishes.) The 5 Qt is perfect. I have used it multiple times already. I prepare main dishes in it and take it as is to church gatherings and pitch ins. It keeps the food hot for some time. The only negative is for the money it should have a better knob on the lid. The plastic just doesn't do it justice. So far very easy to clean.

I got this skillet to replace the La Creuset skillet of the same size that I had purchased back in 1983. It lasted that long and would have lasted longer had I not abused it and ruined the finish. I have every expectation of having this one last another 30 years.

This Le Creuset 101/4" Caribbean colored skillet is so beautiful. It arrived in perfect condition. I've been wanting this item for a long time. Thanks to Amazon, I was able to find it when other vendors had sold out.
