I have had this set and individual pieces associated with this set for quite some time and I love it. I'm someone who brings my lunch with me to work daily and absolutely love the ease of these products. The sizes are just right for an entree and one or two sides. I use the mugs for chili and soups, the bowls for entrees, french onion soup, pumpkin pudding and a laundry list of things in between. Just last night I made chicken pot pies. Baked, frozen and later on today they'll be microwaved. Perfect for those who enjoy cooking, enjoying leftovers, bringing lunch to work and easy clean up. Staining and retaining odors does not happen with these, as it can with other storage products. They certainly win hands down over plasticware with regard to its versatility.

The cups a great for soups and other dining liquids. The bowls are Great also. I take care of my 82 year old grandmother & she just love how she can take a can of soup and poor it into the cup, cook it in the microwave then what she does not finish she can up the lid on and put it in the refrigerator. When she wants it again just take out of the frig. and put it directly in the microwave. Clean up is good also only on problem with them and that would be the lids. After a little time the plastic exsorbet a red tint from tomato based products. Other then this I'm buying them for all my friends as Christmas presents.

These are great. The mugs hold an entire can of soup. The lids keep the contents inside and keep the microwave splatter-free. They are a handy size for storing and heating leftovers or lunch and go from refrigerator to microwave without any problems.

Several months ago I was very upset to realize the tops on my Corningware containers were getting so loose they just about fell off. I then realized I had been using them every week for TWELVE YEARS! I bought them individually for around six dollars each, which was expensive at the time. So here I am buying some more. If they even last HALF as long this time, I'll be satisfied.

Love these pieces for reheating. I do wish they could make the small bowls with a handle so it isn't so hot to pick up after reheating. The lids fit a little snug (which makes it hard to get them off without spilling the contents) so I just don't snap them all the way down in the microwave. The bowls clean up beautifully but the lids stain easily.

I searched high and low for a well designed yet reasonable tea kettle. My last one was great until I let it burn dry for about half an hour, oops. But this one looked really promising. A big enough opening so a man can get his hand in there to wash the kettle and a whistle. A must for me since I often go back to work while the water is heating.

All looked good until I tried it out for the first few times. In all cases the lid did not fit tightly enough to cause the whistle to blow when the water was boiling. All you got was a bunch of steam from all around the lid and no Whistle.

Another slight criticism is the trigger to lift open the spout. It has a rubber like sheath that slides on the the metal trigger to keep your finger form getting too hot or burning. It likes to slide off fairly easily. Not a big deal to slide it back on but you need to be careful about how much pressure you use on the trigger to open the spout.

The Silicon handle does stay cooler to the touch and works well. Seams and stainless steel quality seem good, so if you get one where the lid fits correctly you may end up with a quite serviceable tea kettle.

Amazon was great about returning the item and I ended up with a Farberwear Sonoma but alas that had problems of its own.

Am I really forced to buy a $100 plus kettle from England to get one that works without fail? I'll keep searching til I find one that simply boils water, whistles, and does not rust.

UPDATE:

Found the almost perfect kettle and under $50...............................NO Whistle though

Demeyere 4.2-qt. Stainless Steel Water Kettle, Resto

Heats fast, well made, no rust (owned since June and it is now Dec, some water in it all the time) Big enough to get your hand in (small to medium :)) to clean and looks great.

Not too hard to find. Amazon should pick the line up!

For the last five years I've been using a quite large kettle of a different brand. It didn't have a whistle so I had to carry my timer for my twice daily tea. As it was starting to look a bit long in the tooth I began looking around for a replacement and this one seemed to fit the bill. Large size and base, whistle, RED... Seemed perfect, and it almost is perfect, but not quite. I'm a male with XXL size hands and the top being right under the handle and latch make for getting it on and off a bit awkward. Someone with smaller hands would never even notice this. The base is very large which it great for stability and because of that I thought I could use the large burner on our gas stove, and I can, if I don't turn it up to high. If on high the handle gets quite hot, but really not a big deal as works perfect on small burner or set on medium on large burner. Another small flaw is that the latch/trigger is sheathed in rubber which is not glued in place. After using it several times the rubber almost slips all the way off and if I'm not thinking about it that trigger gets hot. Don't know if it is just the one I got or if they are all like that but I'll probably shoot in a couple of drops of super glue and the problem should go away. The last little thing is that the pot is so shiny and we have such hard water that water spots show on it something terrible. A quick wipe with a rag and it is fine but my last pot was textured and absolutely nothing showed on it so I guess I'm just picking nits.

Actually I'm very pleased with the pot. The large base makes it as steady as a brick, I love the red, the whistle is just loud enough to let me know it is ready but not so loud as to be a siren to wake the whole household, and the kettle holds a lot of water. Even with my little complaints I'm eminently satisfied with my purchase.

Update: I've now had the pot for about a month and still love it. The extra large pouring spout is great! Never realized how bad the small ones normally found on teapots were until I got to use this one. This is a huge check in the plus column. Apparently the rubber over the latch/trigger is heat shrink. After the first couple of uses it tightened up perfectly and has not been an issue since. No glue needed. I noticed one person complained that the paint wiped off but that has not been my experience. They may have had a defective pot. Another said that the whistle is "wimpy". As on any pot, do not fill past the neck/spout opening or the whistle will not operate correctly. My experience is that the whistle can be heard easily from any corner of our single floor home. With this pot I use medium/high heat on the large burner or high on a small burner so the handles do not get overly warm. Because of the large base and the shape heat does bleed to the non-rubberized parts of the handle, although the rubberized parts never get more than warm. Over the years I've had a lot of pots and this is my favorite of all of them.

Update: after 4 month of living with this pot I am still a bit conflicted. The manufacturer has to address a couple of issues. The handle is definitely too close to the pot and the rubber handle and latch covers are way too thin so they conduct far too much heat. I love the size, the wide base and the large spout, but the handle design is a grave defect. I'd still buy this one as I've not found another that meets my needs, but until these issues are addressed I'm not sure if I'd endorse others buying it.

Best Deals for Primula 3 Quart Soft Grip Whistling Stainless Steel Tea Kettle

This item is border line fraudulent. The "stainless" steel corroded around the lid and the top of the kettle in 30 days. The "insulated" handle keeps cool only if the kettle is half full or less, and the insulated tab on the spout cover lever slides off as you use it. Junk, pure & simple.

Honest reviews on Primula 3 Quart Soft Grip Whistling Stainless Steel Tea Kettle

Have been using this water kettle and love the color and design. Seems to work good and heats up just like any other water kettle I have used. I like the dark red color as it gives a great pop of color on my stove. The whistle is not quite as loud as I would expect, but I think it is because the top cover lid lets some of the steam out which in turn doesn't build up a lot of pressure for the whistle to be as loud as it could. I pushed down on it while I was heating some water up and the whistle got louder so I am pretty sure this is the case. The top does fit snugly(Please see my short video review); so I am not sure if it could possibly a minor design flaw or what, but I still like this kettle. I will update 3-4 months down the road to give a update of real life day to day use and how it is holding up. Look for my picture after I got done baking some honey oat wheat bread and you can see the kettle.

Gorgeous! Red is not my favorite color, but I may have to rethink my position on that after receiving this kettle. The deep red finish is beautiful.

It is a very attractive design, lightweight and easy to use. The center cover pops out easily for washing or filling. I was very pleased to find this combination of features in a stainless steel kettle--I don't cook with aluminum.

I personally had no problem with the sound-level of the whistle. After reading other reviews, I expected it to be some faint whisper that I could barely hear. On the contrary, it was quite loud enough for my use. I am in an apartment, not a large house, so I cannot speak to whether it would be audible if one were on a different floor or several rooms away. For my purposes, it is just fine.

I did just receive this today, so will have to wait to determine any long-term use issues. But, on first glance, I love it. It's a keeper.

To address complaints in less favorable reviews: I wash new kitchen utensils before using them, and washed the kettle before use. I also dried it with a paper towel. There was no evidence of any particle of finish rubbing off. Secondly, I experimented by letting the kettle remain on the burner more than a minute after it reached full boil and was whistling. While the metal pieces near the handle did become hot, I could still touch them gingerly & they were not hot enough to cause a burn if brushed against while grasping the handle. *Since first writing this review, I have accidentally touched the metal part of the handle (due to impatience & generally laziness because I reached across the kettle the wrong way to pull it off the burner). It WAS hot, but not enough so that I received a burn or blister. If I'd held on to it longer, maybe. Mainly, just exercise reasonable caution and hold the kettle by the insulated handle as intended. Still a 5-star item for me.

6/27/13: Still love it.

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 9-Inch Skillets Review

Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 9-Inch Skillet with Iron Handle, Cobalt Blue
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

We own several La Creuset skillets, but this one is the perfect size. The others seem almost laughably large or small. Size is hard to tell online, but this is a nice medium sized skillet.

The only reason I don't give this product five stars is that people should be warned what they are getting. This product is very heavy and requires different cooking habits. Most notably, you never turn the burner above medium heat. High heat makes the food stick to the bottom requiring lots of scrubbing. The other trick to cooking with La Creuset is Bon Ami cleaner. It cleans these skillets with far less work and won't do damage to the enameled surface.

As an alternative to cheap skillets that have toxins built in, there is no substitute for the life-time warranty, and durability of Le Creuset. If you think of it as a once in a lifetime purchase it is actually quite a good deal.

The coating that Le Creuset applies to all of their black surfaced enameled pans sticks to food as it cooks. I mean really bad sticking to the point that the product requires almost full time attention. You are much better off buying a standard cast iron pan and conditioning it with oil the old fashioned way then buying any of these products. You will also save about 85% on your purchase.

Now, i have bought many pieces of Le Creuset Cookware as it tends to be my gift of choice for weddings etc. but when Amazon has its sales on this brand they cant be beat! I bought 8 of these skillets in the past year for prices ranging from $39-49 and have been very pleased. They are not seconds, they come well packaged and are wonderful all-round. Le Creuset has a very well deserved, good reputation. Their cookware is well-made, heavy and has a great warranty. They cook even and if looked after maintain their appearance which in my opinion is good enough for the table at informal dinner parties or family get togethers. Plus they have a wide variety of interesting colors for almost any kitchen preference. I personally stick with Red and Blue as gifts but i have a full set of Dune which i love.

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 9-Inch Skillets

we stretched to purchase this and it seemed crazy to pay so much for a skillet but it has truly proved its worth. we are not gourmet cooks but using this is a dream. it holds and balances the heat, cleans surprisingly easily for a non-teflon surface and is sturdy enough to give your children a good wack on the head (just kidding). but seriously, it is hefty, handsome and does an excellent job.

I am a huge fan of Le Creuset, and have been making a gradual switchover to their products for all of my cooking vessels (gradual, because the cost is prohibitive). This was the first skillet / grill item I purchased from them.

First, the skillet is extremely heavy. But, when you're buying case iron you can expect that. The handle does get hot along with the rest of the pan. That is easily solved by purchasing a silicon handle cover (preferred over the cloth covers, which would negate the ability to put the whole thing in the oven). Yes, it's an additional cost for the pan. But honestly, if you're spending $100 on a skillet, what's an additional $10 for a silicon handle cover to get the maximum use?

I currently use the skillet on a gas range, although I used it on an electric range when living at a different apartment. The skillet performed well on both heat sources. There is some discoloration on the bottom of my skillet since moving to the gas range, but most of it is easily removed with some baking soda, a sponge, a little elbow grease. The same technique works for cleaning the interior. About a month after purchasing this skillet, I put some oil on to heat and promptly forgot about it. When I realized my error, I was literally reduced to tears when I found that the oil had burned. I was sure I had just completely ruined my skillet. I scoured the internet for solutions, and there was consistent advice to make a thick paste of baking soda and scrub the skillet. It took multiple scrubbings, but all the evidence left from that embarrassing debacle is a small patch (the size of a nickel) of discoloration. This was after half the interior was reduced to a charred mess.

I've used this skillet to cook eggs, vegetables, veggie burgers, and meats. My husbands preferred method to cook chicken is with this pan (heat oil, place chicken breast in oil and cook until that side is brown and easily lifts from pan, flip, pour in 1/2 cup of water or broth, cover whole thing with a plate, and cook through). I haven't had an issue with sticking. I simply heat the pan on medium-low, and cook away. I've found that the food does cling to the pan initially, but easily gives when brown. This size is perfect for two veggie burgers, or two medium sized chicken breasts. I'm glad I made the switch, and will continue to convert my skillets and grill pans over to Le Creuset based on this skillet's excellent performance.

This saucepan is great when you're making a big batch of something, but beware that it's quite heavy and can be unwieldy when it's full of food. I really enjoy cooking with it, but when I want to pour things out I wish I had paid the slightly higher price for the one with the loop across from the handle so that I'd have more leverage.

This 4 quart saucepan is really a must! Perfect for a pound of pasta, boiling veggies, a small batch of sauce, the list is endless. It is also great if you don't feel like pulling out a stock pot or if you are trying to save space on your stove. I love All Clad in general but this one is one of the best. The handle is perfect, the lid is great, it is just an all around great pan and super easy to clean. All Clad quality can't be beat. Once you try one piece you will be hooked too (that is if you are not already :). All Clad offers a lifetime warranty and each piece is superb quality and very well made. There is nothing like top quality stainless steel.

Cleaning Tip: If you should get something stuck to the stainless steel use a product called "Bar Keepers Friend" to clean it. Most supermarkets have it and Kitchen Etc. and Bed, Bath and Beyond carry it too. The container (like a Comet can) is gold with blue and white writing. All Clad recommends it for cleaning stainless steel and it works like a dream and is very inexpensive.

Highly recommended! A+++!

Best Deals for All-Clad Stainless 4-Quart Saucepan

This is a must have pot for any cooking enthusiast that is planning on owning All-Clad's stainless line. The size is versatile, large enough to boil pasta, small enough to make sauces or puddings. I just purchased mine and love it. It cooks evenly and washes up nicely and it's beautiful to look at. I don't think this size comes in any of the sets. You must buy it separately. This comes with a lid already and has a nice grip handle that is easy to hold with one hand, while you are stirring or cooking in the pot. I prefer this one to the 4-quart pot with the two handles as this one is easier to manage at times, when stirring, etc. or when you need your other hand, as I find sometimes in a busy kitchen. If you're thinking of buying a few items of All-Clad, (since they are pricey), this is a must.

Honest reviews on All-Clad Stainless 4-Quart Saucepan

This 4 quart pot is one of the two pots I use the most (along with the 2 quart). It is a true workhorse. It's perfect for pasta, especially spaghetti, for up to about 4 adults.

One important note: buy the one with the loop! It's worth the extra money. As another commentator mentioned, this pot gets very heavy when full. My aunt pointed out that older people, or smaller women, might have trouble with this. Trying to lift and pour this pot can be quite a workout. I wish I had the one with the loop opposite the handle. (Better yet, I wish I had 2 loops instead of the handle. That one is called the 4 Quart Casserole.)

Like all All-Clad products, this pan is an exceptional product. The heat transfers evenly and it's great for candy making. Unfortunately, the handle is quite uncomfortable and pouring contents is incredibly difficult and uncomfortable. The handle is grooved and not substantial enough for the weight of the pan.

For those who care, the pot is made in US, lid in China.

Le Creuset PG4050-0430 10-Ounce Mortar and Pestle, Cobalt
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

This is a fine mortar and pestle, with good colouring, even looks good sitting on the counter or a shelf. But, be aware the advertised size is much larger than the reality; the diameter is 4 ½" and it is 2 ½" high, not 5" X 4". It is plenty big enough for the small grinding jobs that I have. The inside of the mortar and the pestle has a rough surface which grinds well and is easy to use. The pestle is easy to grip and comfortable to hold. Also a major requirement is that it is dishwasher safe. It also is freezer to oven and microwave safe. It's a good piece of kitchen equipment.

As a kitchen item, this is a good pestle and mortar. However, I'm one of those wimpy people who can't swallow pills, so when I need to take something I have to crush it. For pill crushing, this pestle/mortar pair doesn't seem to work particularly well. The material of the bowl and the end of the pestle are very grainy. Great if you're not wanting to turn something into powder-such as a spice or herb. But when you ARE wanting to crush something to a fine powder, the substance seems to get stuck around the edges of the pestle. (This happens regardless of the pill type.)

For herbs and spices, this pair is no doubt excellent so I'd definitely recommend it for those purposes. For pharmacological use (I'm sure there's more of you non-pill-swallowers out there than just me), it's not a good bowl and I've gone back to the use of my other bulkier less attractive pestle/mortar for that.

Folks, don`t be fooled into thinking this cookware was produced in Gemany as the name implies. Upon arrival my heart sunk when I viewed the packaging.... I would venture to say the GERMAN`S don`t even realize this stuff exists...It is possible the man who produces this cookware is German ( The Name Being PALLAS ) but after close inspection of the box and contents nowhere

is it marked with any German production marks ; This product is Clearly made in the far east ... HMMM... As far as longevity & durability , I really can`t say !!!! The handles are screwed to the pan body with a single 8/32 bolt and the labels on the handles are crudely epoxied in place... The alleged ceramic coating does not extend out over the lips fully, leaving exposed aluminum .

I was looking for "green" cookware for over 2 years. My first try at green cookware was from an infomercial really cheap quality and weight I donated them to Good Will! I consider myself a very good cook & my other cookware is Le Creuset, high end Cuisinart stainless & the old non-stick was teflon. The ratings/reviews on the Cuisinart "green" were not good. The Weilburger ceramic had the highest ratings of all the green/ceramic coated non-stick ~ so I decided to try these. The price was incredible and I was NOT disappointed. The minute you hold one in your hand you feel the weight and sturdiness of the pan, but not as heavy as cast iron or Le Creuset. Much easier on arthritic hands. Cooking seems a little odd at first because things slide around so easily ... not used to that in the old non-stick or Le Creuset. Cleaning was a dream ... no scrubbing AT ALL! I've been using my set for over 5 months almost daily and not a scratch or chip. However, I use only wooden utensils or utensils specifically made for non-stick. I wish these were available in all different sizes, but I'm happy with the basics!

Best Deals for Deluxe Healthy Legend 8 Pc German Weilburger Ceramic Coating

The nonstick coating works well but you need a little oil or butter to prevent some foods from sticking to the pan. The bases of the pans are thicker than most nonstick pans I have used in the past. Overall quality seems very good.

Honest reviews on Deluxe Healthy Legend 8 Pc German Weilburger Ceramic Coating

These pots and pans are amazing! Not only is the quality outstanding, the grips are very comfortable, and there is NO FOOD, nothing, that ever STICKS, plus the ceramic coating is so much healthier than any other non-stick suface. Love cooking with these pans, the food comes out perfect, cleaning them is a cinch:>)) Used them for about 2 months now, and they are still like new, no chipping or peeling off like some users experienced with some other brands. Would highly recommend them, they are worth every penny!

I spent a great deal of time reviewing the German Weilburger Ceramic cookware both at Amazon and elsewhere on the web. I had not used ceramic cookware before; thought about going with the recognizable names, including Rachel Ray and Paula Dean. Went to the local stores to physically hold the cookware for weight and balance. Nevertheless, I took a leap of faith and went with the German Weilburger. I have been using the set for over a month now (I cook everyday), and must say that I am very pleased. I would give the review 5 stars, but I find that the small skillet has such a smaller more rounded as opposed to a wider flat bottom surface that it tends to tilt over on my gas burner grate unless I place it just so or put the lid on. The cookware cooks evenly and the non-stick surface performs as advertised. So far, I am glad I made the purchase/investment. Very good quality and I would recommend to a friend.

Put it in our RV, the nested design really saved space, but poor quality non-stick. I started to see damage from the start but it became unusable after only about 15 uses. It actually seemed to stick worse than a traditional non stick pan.

The handle doesn't work so great when tipping up the pans to plate up or pour, it became really annoying so I retired this set of pans for backup use only.

We used these on our camping trip. The pros were that they stack together nicely and the sizes of the pans are perfect for what we needed. But after one use the non stick finish came off even with using nylon utensils. They were used once and they look old and I couldn't even get that clean using a scrubby pad.

Best Deals for Coleman Family Cookset (Red)

I just used these for the 1st time on a camping trip.

PROS:

Non-Stick

Stack inside eachother

Cleans VERY easily

Removeable handle for easy storage

CONS:

Made in China

The removeable handle is black, so I can see that it may get lost but hoping it doesn't.

I cooked three meals with these pots & pans and used every single one of them with no issues. I even boiled 4 full size ears of corn in the big pot! They cleaned up easily, stored away easily and left no burn marks or peeling like others have mentioned in their reviews. I cooked on a Coleman stove, not over an open fire.

I would NOT recommend these for cooking over an open fire. You should probably get cast-iron pots if that's what you're into. I could totally see these not being thick enough not to melt or have paint bubbling issues over an open fire.

ON A SIDE NOTE:

Coleman is synonymous with camping in America, unfortunately almost everything they sell is made in China now. I purchased a lot of Coleman products through Amazon for my recent camping trip and was dissapointed to see that almost every item was "Made in China". Amazon should require the "Made in..." info in their listing of items.

I searched, literally, for weeks and could not find a cook set in the size I wanted and the price I was looking for. I have had this set of cookware for about 6 years and had no problems with it.....I read one review that said the nostick coating was coming off.....I haven't had that problem yet!.....I do know that most camping stoves cook very hot and your pot may sit very close to the heat on some.......not sure but that reviewer may have used to much heat or the pot was a little to close to the heat sorce......Which can cause problems for even the best cookware!!.....I cook with my stove turmed way down and keep a close eye on whats cooking......Mine still looks almost new!.....Only thing I'm not crazy about is that the handle comes off and is used for all the pieces......doesn't feel sturdy when your taking something hot off of the stove......But saying that, the removable handle does make for easy storage since with it being off, all the pieces stack neatly inside of one another.....Just have to be a little careful with the hot stuff!......If something were to happen to mine I would buy them again with out thinking twice....I am actually about to buy a second set!!......Happy camping to all!!

It is hard to beat an induction cooktop in terms of precise temperature control BUT anodized aluminum pots and pans do not work at all on induction. They make steel adapter plates to place under aluminum pots and pans, but those units get very hot and you lose most of the precision control of the pots and pans due to the less than ideal thermal connection from the pot to the metal plate.

These pots and pans are reasonably thick anodized aluminum with an integral stainless steel plate on the bottom. Since the plate is fused to the aluminum, there is very good thermal contact and the full benefit of induction can be realized. The great thermal conduction of aluminum is also provided.

The surface is non-stick but it is too new to determine how long it will last.

I had many Calphalon pots and pans that were eventually replaced by All-Clad pots and pans, but I really had nothing that had the same functionality as this pan. I wanted something that I could make risotto and polenta in, and that might serve as a small wok. I have lusted after the All-Clad sauciers for a time, but just didn't think I would use them enough to justify their well-over $100 price.

I bought this pot at a substantial discount (about $31 versus a $75 list price). When it arrived, I was a bit surprised at how light it was. I also bought the twin frying pan set, and the 12-inch pan has a very thick plate on the bottom, which makes it a comparable weight to an All-Clad pan of similar size. The 10-inch pan and this pot seem a bit lighter than equivalent All-Clad products. This initially caused some concern. Others have pointed out that the pot lacks the helper handle. The photos that are provided carefully crop off the helper handle, but the rivets that attach it are still evident in the photos and are absent on the product that shipped. (Amazon, would it really be that difficult to get a high school intern to take or scan a picture of the actual pot? Really? It is not that I was expecting or wanted rivets, just that after so many comments you could perhaps address the matter.) I don't know if the handle was on an earlier version of the pot and removed to reduce the cost. Perhaps manufacturing it in Thailand also reduced costs. At least in this case the product seems well made, and the cost savings result in an affordable fairly priced product.

The first few cooking attempts have been very successful. The curved corners at the bottom are very useful for dishes like risotto and polenta (and would probably be useful if you were making oatmeal for a small army) that require frequent or continuous stirring. I can imagine a number of other dishes that would benefit. The handle of the Infinite version of this pot is very thoughtfully designed. The cutouts where the handle joins the body of the pot limit the amount of metal through which heat can flow, and for stovetop cooking the handles do not get excessively hot. Although I have not used the pot in the oven, the ability to expose the handles to temperatures as high as 500°F is a bonus, and an advantage compared to the newer (Elite?) line, which has more modest temperature capabilities.

Despite warnings in other reviews for other products from this line that the nonstick was not very long-lived and that one could not use olive oil, this has not been my short-term experience with any of this line of cookware, and is actually inconsistent with the instructions that came with the product. Olive oil is fine, and it is what I most often cook with. Clean-up is a breeze. I will update this review if things change. For most things that I have cooked, the weight of the food was not sufficient to make me wish for a helper handle. For someone who is of smaller frame, I could see that the lack of a helper handle might become an issue if you prepare a full pot of something. I have prepared curries and risottos that have filled the pot and it does get a bit heavy in that case.

If there is any additional disappointment, and it is relatively small, it is that there is no lid. Again, it was not an issue of expecting one. I have enough other cookware that I can probably find a lid that fits, but it would be nice if Amazon/Circulon linked the pan to a specific lid directly in their ad for the product. It might increase the flexibility of the pot and allow use for braising and other cooking methods for which a tight-fitting lid/cover would be necessary. It is not obvious that there is a lid specifically designed for this pot, or at least my limited search for one was unsuccessful.

Overall, for what I paid I think it is a very decent value and the pot functions quite well. If I were just starting out equipping a kitchen, or wanted to buy a friend or child who is moving into their first apartment some decent cookware, this line would be on my list. Would I prefer an All-Clad? Maybe, although my experience with All-Clad is that their nonstick coating peels. Would I prefer Mauviel? Yes, but not the $300 price tag or the handwashing. So I strongly recommend the all-purpose pot as long as the reservations that I have listed aren't things that will bother you or affect your intended uses.

Best Deals for Circulon Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick 4-1/2-Quart Extra Deep All

This pan is great. It's big enough to use for many things like stir fry, making soups, boiling or making other one pan dishes. The size is almost 11" across at the top and 5" deep. I just bought an induction cook-top and really love it. I have an 8" Circulon Infinite fry pan and frying eggs and bacon for breakfast is fast and easy.

The quality of these pans are excellent compared to so-called name brands. The handles are heavy and solid chrome and the induction base is aluminum clad over steel. They are well worth the price and you can use them with any type of stove.

Between this pan and an 8" Infinite skillet I cook everything from fried eggs to stir fry to making gumbo. I cook everything now on my induction cooktop. It is superfast and doesn't heat up the kitchen.

Honest reviews on Circulon Infinite Hard Anodized Nonstick 4-1/2-Quart Extra Deep All

I recently purchased a burton deluxe induction stove for cooking at work on occasion. I needed somthing to saute onions in for the burgers we were doing. Initially I tried my steel pans, ok I guess. Then I tried this and loved it! It heated evenly, carmelized my onions well and cleaned up super easy. Ok, it does not have a second handle. But its deep, so you have no mess and its small enough so it only needs one. I liked it so much I bought another. It's just the right size for stir frys.

I bought this to use specifically on my induction cook top and it does the job beautifully! Heats very evenly and can do so many things! I've used this to make soups, one pot meals for my wife and I as well as sautéing meats and vegetables. I just made scrambled eggs with sautéed onion and cheese and not only did they come out great but with just a plastic spoon I was able to get every single morsel out of the pot. Clean up with this is never more than wiping out with a damp cloth. Great investment!!

I bought one of these 20 yrs. ago.

It's performed flawlessly ever since.

If I could criticize anything, I'd replace the swiveling hooks.

Sounds good until you use them, as the pot handle bumps the hook,

the hook moves out of the way.

I'll buy a couple of fixed hooks and replace the swivels.

I had low expectations but this is a very nice set. It worked great for chocolate and a tea light candle really did keep it super hot. Warm it in the microwave with water in it first to avoid the hot chocolate from getting a shock.

I received these as a gift from my sister and LOVED them for about a year and a half. Then, the glaze on the small one (which I use most) began cracking. I do often use them for fish at high temps, but come on, they're BAKING dishes, they should hold up. It is now to the point where the whole dish is covered in a spider web of cracks. Last night, I made tilapia and when I pulled it out of the oven, all of the cracks were oozing this mysterious black/brown gunk!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am hoping to get a replacement and that this is a fluke because I really do love the color, shape, and easy cleanup. BUT, I also agree with previous poster's issue with the unglazed bottoms sweating. They WILL MOLD if you nest them and don't put a paper towel in there, even if you hand washed and especially if you used the dishwasher.

I didn't think I would use these so often, but I do. I find myself looking for recipes to try, just to use these. They hold heat like you wouldn't believe, they actually cook everything evenly, and they are great to put under the broiler to get nice crisp crusts on casseroles.

The small size is absolutely perfect for a household of two people. It has allowed me to scale down my recipes to work for just two people, and still get the same quality that I would in the full scale version. The rounded sides are great and make it easy to scoop things out. They don't look very deep, but they can hold A LOT.

And, as cliche as it might be, they ARE great from going from the oven to table, and people really are impressed (plus, that makes less dishes to clean up, BONUS!!). Buy these, you will not be disappointed.

These are great looking, colorful, and very useful bakers. I have several Rachael Ray sets and enjoy using them a lot. Now for the issue: I have bought two Bubble and Brown sets and in both sets, the 1 quart dish has cracked in a big way. The first one cracked then broke completely in half. The new one now has the beginnings of the same sort of crack. I have been careful to keep them away from abrupt temperature changes, water when hot, etc., so the fact that this has happened twice to the same dish makes me concerned that there is a production problem. I just cannot depend on these to deliver food to the table if they might break in half coming out of the oven. Not safe either. Has anyone else had this experience?

Handle broke off in my hand when removing from the oven. Spilled boiling contents and ceramic everywhere. This design is very dangerous. Do not use. E-mailed company and received no response.

I was baking chicken pieces at 400 and halfway through, the baker cracked in half. The smoke and mess in the oven was horrible and of course it also ruined dinner. Not happy.

I was a little nervous when I bought this skillet, since at the time there were no product reviews on it, but I was desperate, and since I had had good luck with other Cuisinart products, I took the chance. Am I glad I did! We were just beginning a major kitchen remodel, which meant that for at least two months I would have to improvise cooking facilities for 5 adults and a grandchild. This skillet has been a real workhorse for me, and a genuine lifesaver (and budget-saver) during the remodel. Its cost was no more than 2 dinners for my family at a moderate-cost restaurant, and I saved that much the first week by cooking those dinners at home in this skillet instead. Its large capacity makes it extremely versatile. I've used it to fry chicken, make one-pan dinners, cook bacon and eggs, frozen blintzes, pot roast, stir-fry meals, you name it. It makes a beautiful risotto, and I've even used it to cook corn on the cob and boil potatoes. Everything came out exactly as I'd hoped, or better. I am especially happy with the Cuisinart's solid, sturdy base that won't let the skillet tip over and endanger the cook (or the curious grandchild). I also love the sturdy nonstick surface, which after two months of frequent use is still like new, in contrast to some nonstick pans I've had where the coating scratches or wore off so quickly that by the 3rd or 4th use the food had to be chipped out. The temperature control responds very quickly, too. You can certainly buy a cheaper electric skillet, but if you use it frequently, a cheap pan will be trash in a short time and you may not be happy with the way it performs in that short lifetime. This Cuisinart is worth every penny, and I expect to be using mine for a long, long time.

I have owned this electric skillet for several months. This is my first electric skillet. I know, shocking, after 25 years of marriage! I love this skillet, and can not believe I did not purchase one sooner. I have done eggs with cheese, fajita's, sausage, etc. Nothing has stuck! The meat browns nicely, the eggs don't stick, everything cooks evenly and as it should.

Best of all, clean up is a breeze! I know the instructions say you can put it in the dishwasher, but I haven't even been tempted. A little dish soap, a little water and a swish with a dishcloth, rinse and dry and the clean up is done!

I wouldn't trade it.

*Update: I have now had this skillet for about 1 year. It still cooks great and cleans as easy as it did new. non-stick finish has been very durable, and the unite heats up nicely. It is nice and large so you can cook up a large amount of food at one time. This is nice when you are cooking for several people. When it is just me and my husband, I can cook the sausage and pancakes at the same time, then I only have one cleanup!

I do at times wish the cooking surface was more level. It seems to be a little lower around the edges. I assume that is on purpose to allow grease to drain.

Best Deals for Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric Skillet

I have only had my Cuisinart Electric Skillet for approx. two weeks, but have used it almost every day since receiving it! I love it! Very easy to clean, nothing sticks to it. I have fried chicken twice in it, and it did a wonderful job of it. The chicken fried evenly and got very brown and crusty but no burning. I have fried pork chops in it, and it was the same, cooked perfectly. I have found it fries bacon much better and more evenly than trying to do it on my stove and so much easier to clean up because it doesn't spatter as badly as cooking in a more shallow skillet. Plus, my stove top is smooth glass and frying on it is always messy and causes the grease to burn onto it and then has to be cleaned with special glasstop cleanser, so I don't make a mess on my stove when I use the skillet. I cooked hamburgers in it yesterday and they were delicious, browned on the outside but juicy inside. The best I have cooked in a long time. I cannot praise this skillet enough! I have been searching for a 16-in. electric skillet for the past year but every one that I would find listed on Amazon (which is the same selection, or even better selection) than I would find in a local department store, and as I always read customer reviews before I buy (I feel this is the best way to find out about any product before actually buying and using it, from people who have it and have used it) they all had some bad features, either in the design or workmanship, and in the case of Rival, not good customer service. So I stayed away from every brand that I read about for the 16 in. elec. skillets. Then, just recently, I was checking out the food network website and noticed this oval shaped one by Cuisinart that they offered, and though the price was the same as on amazon, I went with amazon because of the free shipping. I was also hoping that amazon would have a few customer reviews for me to read so I could see how others either liked or disliked the skillet, but alas, there were none! I guess it is too new yet to have many customer reviews. Though it is not quite the 16 inches that I was looking for, the 15"X12" size has proven to be just as good, it easily holds a whole chicken without crowding. The one inch differenc wasn't enough to stop me from buying it. I knew Cuisinart was a very good brand, so I trusted the name, and took a chance and I am so happy that I did. It is pure joy to cook in this skillet. I haven't even put it away since I have had it, as I use it almost every day, I just keep it sitting on the end of my counter in the kitchen, where I use it. The only criticism I could offer is the shortness of the cord, but I have found this is true with every electric skillet that I have looked at, and was true with my old one that I gave my daughter when I purchased this one. It seems you can't wear electric skillets out, as I had that one for about 25 years! But back to the short cord. I think it is a safety feature so that you won't get caught in the electric cord and pull the skillet off the counter or table and cause burns to yourself or damage the skillet. And thankfully, the cord is just long enough to reach the outlet on the down-side of my counter top without having to use an extension. If I used it close to a wall with a wall socket, it would reach even better. But since I don't have a lot of counter space and the counter top range takes up so much of my space, it is more convenient for me to have it at the end of the counter top. And it is worth every penny of the hundred dollar price! I highly recommend it.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric Skillet

I picked this out as a gift based on all of the positive reviews. The first unit arrived and looked OK at a glance. Upon closer inspection, I found some scratches on the exterior and weird spots in the non-stick surface. When I flipped the unit over, I found all of the model information is imprinted into the metal surface; including a serial number. That serial number had been covered up with a black mark and a second serial number has been printed below in black type. I confirmed with Cuisinart customer service that this indicates that the unit has been refurbished.

My order was for a NEW unit from amazon.com (not a marketplace seller). Amazon customer service quickly created a new order for another unit at no charge to me and provided me with postage to return the refurb unit. I was assured that the replacement unit would be new. A week later, the replacement arrived and it also has 2 serial numbers and even worse defects in the non-stick coating (rough spots). I am now returning for a refund. Buyer beware. Check your serial number!

During my 30 plus years of marriage, I have owned at least 5 electric skillets. When the last one broke, I decided to do some research and bought the Cuisinart 150. I was skeptical about the oval shape since all my others were rectanglar and I felt that those extra corners meant more room. However, the shape does not matter. In fact, since most foods are rounded, the oval is better. The Cuisinart 150 cooks evenly, there are no hot coil spots on my foods. It preheats quickly and cooks very quickly also. it also lies level on my counter which for some odd reason the others never did. I don't think I have ever been so happy with a kitchen appliance before. I use my skillet at least once a week, for chicken, eggplant or veal cutlets, as well as for beef stroganoff or other all-in-one-pan meals. I would give this product a perfect 10. It is worth the higher price because it is so well-built and does such a great job.
