Easy to use, easy to clean! I bought this to use with a packet idli mix from MTR, and they came out great! Perfect if everyone in your household doesn't eat Indian breakfast, because it is simple enough to be worth making for just one person (though you will have leftovers, they re-heat well).

Idli dont turn out Well / Light / Soft and fluffy. They come out flat from top.

I think the base should be more deep to hold more water for steaming.

Previously spent $1000 on a grill that rusted through in 3 years (with a cover). Just recently purchsed this Napoleon model and very pleased. Small footprint but enough cooking surface for 12 burgers. Was not looking for a grill the length of my patio!Heats extremely quickly with the two burners and smaller space. Heats to 800 degrees for quick searing. Wheels better than other models.Only complaint had to do with assembly. Plenty of bolts but inexplicably no nuts. No reference to nuts in the assembly instuctions. No nuts in the plastic packaging material. Weird. Had to go to Home Depot to get nuts to complete assembly. But very pleased with unit. Cover fits securely as well. Easy to recommend.

I have really enjoyed my Napoleon Grill. Very well built and sturdy and has a "closed" back, which a lot of smaller size grills don't. I previously had a Weber Genesis Stainless Steel Grill. Thought it was the last grill I would purchase. However, I found it was too large for 2 people or even for a small dinner party. Also, the 3 burners on the Weber were front to back, which I never got used to or liked. Weber has updated the Genesis to have the burners left to right now, and I am sure more people will like it that way. But, my Napoleon is just the right size, and amazingly, I do not burn food on it like It constantly did on my Weber. It is still large enough to grill 8 or so steaks, so plenty big for me. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the grates, while very heavy duty, are "rough", so trying to oil them tears up the pre-oiled package cloths and oiled paper towels also tear. I thought it would have smoother grates. However, the rough grates give a great char to meat much better than the Weber. All-in-all, I am very happy with it. The only thing I would change, besides the rough grates, is the ignitors. I would have preferred electronic ignitors vs. the rotary style, as I have read the electronic ones last longer, but I have not had any trouble with the rotary ones yet.

I have 2 canners both are Mirro a 12 quart M-0512 and a 22 quart M-0522-11.This gasket is working in the 12 quart after struggling to get it closed.Hoping it gets better with use.But on the 22 quart it doesnt stay in the groove very well and when you do get it to stay in you can't close the cooker.they are made of some slick black junk instead of the gray rubber the old one were made of.Have ordered them from goodmans for years and this is the first time i have had a problem. Will be looking for some one that carries the old gray ones.I ordered three so hope I wont need any for the twelve quart for a while.Update! I have used this gasket for about a month and it has gotten worse.Cant even use it on the 12 quart.

We purchased the pressure cooker at auction, and, of course, the original gasket was old and dry (dead rubber no life left in it). We were able to purchase this one at a reasonable price and we were canning again in no time!

Honest reviews on Mirro 92512 Pressure Cooker and Canner Gasket for Model 92112

I have been trying to find a replacement for my older Mirro Canner. I thought I had found it. But I also bought the new canner, so I thought that I would be safe. If it didn't fit my old one then it would fit my new one. I got the new 92122A. Guess I didn't pay enough attention. This gasket says it is for the 92122. I didn't realize that it wasn't the same as the 92122A. My fault.

I have had my 22 quart Mirro canner for over 30 years, it is the kind with only the jiggler on top, no gauge, and you turn the lid to lock it. I was at the end of my canning season with only a few more batches to can when my very old canner gasket began to fail. So I ordered one from Amazon because of their fast shipping. I got it in just a few days and was able to complete my canning for the season. It has been a while since I have used a canner with a new gasket and had trouble getting my lid closed, it seemed that the gasket was too thick. I went to the Mirro website for information and it said a new gasket is stiff and to lightly oil the gasket on both sides the first few times of use until it is broken in. I did this and it worked great. There is still a bit of resistance but the gasket seals every time with no leaks. I am happy with this product and hope it lasts as long as the original gasket did. I know that I will have no problems with it next canning season.

I chose to purchase this flatware because the product features said they were "tarnish-resistant 18/10 stainless steel with mirror finishing". Nowhere in the packaging is this stated. The only makings on the flatware themselves state they ate 18/c which means it is 18% chrome.

I was led to believe the pieces were 18/10 which is 18% chrome and 10% nickel, the ideal makeup of a flatware set. I also saw that the mirror finish does not coat completely the area between the forks and the finish scratches very easily even though I wash them and dry them with a soft towel immediately after every use.

I purchased this set in April when I moved into a new apartment. It was reasonably priced and the pieces looked very sturdy and polished. When I received the product, I was very pleased. They look very elegant and have a nice weighty feel to them. These don't put the taste of metal in your mouth that you get with some of the cheaper sets of flatware. In addition, I can use the spoon to scoop ice cream without it bending. I love this flatware set and just ordered another from Amazon.com.

Best Deals for Gourmet Settings Strand 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4

I was initially pleased upon receiving these sets of flatware (I ordered two).

Everything was very polished, which allows you to literally see yourself in each piece; just like a tiny mirror.

These are thicker and seem sturdier than my last set. They will require a much greater effort to bend than I'm sure many people like myself have experienced. Who hasn't hand a spoon bend all the way down when trying to get some ice cream?

If i had any complaints it would, at least for the moment be restricted to the knife. I know it's called a butter knife generally, and I think for once that's basically all this one can be used for. It is not serrated which causes it to be very ineffective when cutting much. Do not plan on using it for much of anything other than in application of something like butter or jam to bread.

Overall I am happy with the purchase. Although my wife is a little weird about it because they are slightly larger than our last set of flatware. I would personally recommend them to anyone in the market for this product type.

Happy Shopping,

Jess

Honest reviews on Gourmet Settings Strand 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4

I bought two sets of these about 6 years ago and still have all but a few pieces of the original two sets. I bought them originally based on the awards they had received. I hate flatware that bends easily and most of the ones in this price range do...but not these! The weight is perfect and the design is simple, but can be dressed up easily.

I am going to buy another 20 pc set to replace my missing pieces and add to the number of settings I have. It has held up well, still shines, few scratches, but after 6 years, I would expect that.

I would highly recommend the Gourmet Settings flatware to anyone!!!

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Gourmet Settings Strand 20-Piece Flatware Set, Service for 4

I purchased two sets of these about a year ago when I got married (Spring 2011), and we've absolutely loved this flatware for a year. They're solid, feel great in the hand, and look great after coming out of the dishwasher (unless we don't pre-wash them, but that's an issue with our dishwasher, not the flatware). I particularly like the clean lines of the knife, as well as the fact that it's not serrated.

I purchased an additional set the other day (Spring 2012) to add to our existing pieces, and was very surprised when I opened the box. The knife curves a bit now, rather than being perfectly straight on the back! There are small differences in the other pieces as well, causing them to not nest nicely when stacked. I called Gourmet Settings Customer Service, and the woman I spoke with said that they had a redesign about six months ago. I call shenanigans. If they're going to redesign it, they shouldn't have given it the same name! As it is, I won't be keeping this new set. I'm supposed to email someone at Gourmet Settings to see if they have any old stock, and we'll see if they're able to help me. I'll update back here with the results after this whole thing is resolved.

Don't get me wrong, the new set is fantastic, and I still like it a lot. It has the same great weight and feel, and if I had 3-4 sets of this new design, I would be perfectly happy. The new and the old just don't match though, which is why I've deducted a star. Check user photos to see the difference, particularly between the knives.

**UPDATE** Customer service with Gourmet Settings finally got back to me and said they had changed manufacturers or something, so the dies had been remade, which is why there are slight differences. They were great about it (once they finally responded), and send me two "new" sets free of charge to replace the "old" ones I had, giving me three identical sets. Customer service was great (if a little slow), and I still recommend this flatware highly-great weight, and cleans up great in our (admittedly cheap) dishwasher. Don't hesitate to purchase these, just double check if you're matching flatware sets from 2011 or earlier.

These stunning canisters came the day we were moving, so it was PERFECT timing. I didn't get to open them right away until I was unpacking the kitchen things. WOW! Was I surprised! These are SO much prettier than the image given here and heavy. I filled the smaller one with a whole box of Red Rose tea and still had room for more. The middle size got a full 5 pounds of sugar with no problem and the largest one can easily fit 7 pounds of flour. A lovely muted tone of cream and glazed these also have rubber seals and get MANY compliments. All the ladies that were at our house warming party were in LOVE with these. I highly recommend these. Just BEAUTIFUL!

These canisters are are indeed lovely to look at-super classy, a little rustic and old timey. The shape is graceful and the raised pattern is well proportioned to fit each size. But they are also very functional. The lid has a soft plastic gasket to help seal it. If the gasket ever breaks, it will be easy to replace with a wide rubber band. The handle on the lid is large enough to slide fingers under. This ensures that it won't slip out of your hand accidentally. Large, medium and small will hold a 5# bag of flour, 5# bag of sugar and a box of corn meal easily. Or use then like I do: cookies, nuts and candy.

Cuisinart has taken the ICE-50BC and improved upon it's design shortcomings. the biggest improvement is moving the drive system from the overhead arm to underneath the bowl. This system now resembles the much more expensive Lello unit but with a removable bowl. This unit also has a newly redesigned Ice Cream Paddle and includes a Gelato Paddle as well. That's two machines in one. the small door on the top of the lid for adding nuts, candy pieces, etc it easy to open and close although it's a tad narrow.

One thing I noticed the first time I ran mine. after about 20 minutes, there was a squeaking sound. after pausing it and making sure the paddle and the bowl were seated properly, it was ok for a few more minutes but started squeaking again. I tracked the squeak down to the plastic stabilizer atop the paddle that fits in to a poly-lined-slot in the center of the lid. I used a tiny bit of butter on a qtip to coat the inside of the poly ring and it hasn't squeaked since.

I tried the basic recipe and I tried the vanilla custard recipe in the book. the custard recipe base actually ends up coming out to more than 4 cups. the manual is very clear about not going over 4 cups of liquid in the machine. they mean it. Although I did dump the whole amount in, I should have definitely stuck to exactly 4 cups. It did not run over the top of the bowl, but it nearly did. I would have liked to allow it to run a little longer than 40 minutes as the custard base was not as cold as it should have been before putting it in to the bowl. if I had, it would have run over the top. the refrigeration unit get very cold and quickly. the final ice cream result was not quite as smooth as I'd like. I will mess around with recipes. Another Friend suggested I pre chill the bowl in the unit for 5-10 minutes before adding the base. you can do that in this machine as you can pause the motor while the refrigeration unit is still running. I like that feature. The pausing feature also comes in handy for adding nuts, candy bits, etc a few minutes before you shut the machine off and transfer your creation to a container for a final 2 hour sit in the freezer.

The final product coming out of this machine resembles softserve ice cream. This is normal for an ice cream maker. if it were much thicker, you'd have to dig the mixing paddle out of the bowl. I've seen several reviews on various machines from people thinking ice cream makers will do more than they're designed to.

I'd like to note this machine is LOUD.. the compressor is whisper quiet, the motor for the paddle is not. It sounds like a rather loud electric can opener. This bothers people, but it does not bother me.

I have not tried a gelato recipe or a sorbet recipe yet. I'm looking forward to it. I wanted to get a review up on this ASAP since it's a brand new machine and prior to finding this model I was considering a Lello but could not justify the price.

Clean up is easy with soap and water. the bowl is easily removed from the unit. there is a bit of a trick to getting the paddle out of the bowl without slopping ice cream all over the counter but after a few tries I there was a lot less mess on the counter.

My ancient and well-used Cuisinart ice cream maker with the pre-freeze insert died in May, and I had every intention of replacing it with the same machine. When I saw the relatively reasonable price on this built-in compressor model however, I decided to buy it instead. I'm glad I went with this model.

Pros:

--Some say it's noisy, but it's far quieter than my old Cuisinart ICE-20. We can have a conversation in our smallish kitchen when it's on without problem.

--It's convenient to make two (or more) batches in a row.

--It produces consistently good ice cream and it's easy to get all of it out of the container.

--It comes with two types of paddles. The gelato paddle does seem to make for a smoother, silkier dessert.

--If you don't have much freezer space, it's nice to not have to dedicate a spot to a pre-freeze insert.

--The stainless finish looks great if that fits your aesthetic. I keep the machine out on the counter top and it fits right in with my other appliances.

The con:

--It's on the large side, so if you don't have much storage or counter space, keep that in mind.

P.S. I thought it might be helpful to add a note about recipes. We've made around 2 batches of ice cream/frozen yogurt/sorbet a week since May and are enjoying the ease of using this machine. I've been using recipes from David Lebovitz's "The Perfect Scoop" and Jeni Britton Bauer's "Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams at Home." Bauer and Lebovitz have very different approaches to ice cream but my family happens to like both styles. Each book is full of winners and you can easily find recipes from both authors online to try before committing to a book purchase. If you're an ice cream fan like me, you'll have fun experimenting and seeing how the textures and flavors can vary.

Best Deals for Cuisinart ICE-100 Compressor Ice Cream and Gelato Maker

We have been using the Cuisinart Ice-20 for the past 5 years to make small (1.5 quarts) batches of ice cream in a variety of flavors. I was looking for a batch freezer so that I could make multiple batches without having to refreeze the bowl for 24 hours. After looking around at several units, I decided on the Ice-100.

The unit is much smaller than I had expected, but not quite a easy to store as the Ice-20. A lot of people comment on the noise level of the batch freezers, but I find the Ice-100 to be at a level at or below that of the Ice-20. With just the mixing blade turning instead of the entire bowl like the Ice-20, it seems to have lowered the noise level a little bit. It is no louder than the electric motor on our large (6 quart) traditional ice cream maker (but a lot less mess than dealing with ice and rock salt).

The removable bowl makes getting the batch of ice cream out and the mess cleaned up a lot easier. I will warn people to follow the directions carefully on the amount of mixture that you put into the machine. I have found that it holds 4 cups of mix easily so that it does not overflow as the ice cream sets. We have also found that the ice cream from the Ice-100 stays a lot softer in the freezer (if you do not eat it all right away) than the ice cream from the Ice-20. This is probably do to the temperature of the unit staying colder, and producing a product that is firmer than what comes from the Ice-20.

Overall I feel this is a very good unit for anyone that is interested in stepping up to an ice cream maker with a built in compressor at this price point.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart ICE-100 Compressor Ice Cream and Gelato Maker

From some of the other reviews of this product I was almost reluctant to purchase it, and did in fact wait for several months before placing the order. I looked at a lot of other models from other manufacturers and even much higher priced models, but kept coming back to this one.

When I received the shipping notice, I prepared a cooked custard ice cream base, so that it would be chilled and ready to use when the freezer was delivered to the door. After reading the instructions and the warning about not turning the freezer upside down, my husband cautioned me to wait for 24 hours before using it, to allow the freezer gases to settle, if there inadvertently had been any mishandling during shipping (one would never know if it had been tipped on its side or turned upside down). I impatiently complied.

When I finally got to try it, all I can say is: This unit makes wonderful ice cream!! Absolutely smooth and creamy.

The first batch was a cooked custard base into which I melted 4 oz of chocolate. It was only about 3 cups, and froze in 22 minutes. The second batch was a full 5 cups of cooked and chilled custard base, and froze in 42 minutes. Longer running time will only incorporate more air, which makes the ice cream rise higher in the freezer bucket. This could cause the ice cream to overflow the bucket, which in turn will make it difficult to remove the bucket from the machine, because the overflow will freeze to the unit's wall.

Even though the instructions say that you can use a maximum of 5 cups of base, next time, I will only use 4 cups, just to stay safe and avoid overrun problems. With the 5 cups, it was all the way to the top of the lid by the time it completed its cycle.

Right out of the machine, the ice cream is soft-serve consistency, which some people complained about. I've made ice cream in many different types of freezers, even the old fashioned hand crank with rock salt and ice. I've never gotten any thing other than soft-serve consistency from any machine. That's just the nature of the beast. After two hours in the refrigerator freezer, what we made today is firm but not rock hard.

Do be cautious about drying the bucket THOROUGHLY between use, when making batches one after another. If the outside of the bucket has any moisture on it, it will freeze to the wall of the freezer chamber.

This machine is not nearly as noisy as some people stated. I didn't find it to be any more noisy than the Cuisinart model with the canister that you keep in the freezer. It was not noisy enough to make us feel like we wanted to cover our ears, and neither did we need to raise our voices to be heard over it.

The unit is sleek and easy to clean. The electronic buttons work simply, and I like the fact that they are smooth and even with the rest of the surface of the machine. Makes it easy to just wipe it off.

The lid is easy to put into place--just takes a quarter twist--and the lid opening is large enough to make it easy to add chips, nuts, or candy at the end of the freezing cycle. The machine's rim for the lid has a rubber (silicone?) O-ring that seals the freezer chamber, so it fits snugly in place.

The only thing I regret about this purchase is that I waited so long to make it.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Cuisinart ICE-100 Compressor Ice Cream and Gelato Maker

I have been looking for a good ice cream machine for a while. I ultimately decided on the ICE-100 based on my research. It will hold up to 1.5 quarts which allows you to actually make full quarts of ice cream without overflowing the mixing bowl. From what I was able to determine it is good quality, freezes relatively quickly and allows for continually making batches if so desired.

Pro's:

Quick

Easy to use

Easy to clean

Just simply works

Con's:

While I find it well worth the cost, it is costly.

Noise While the noise isn't horrible it's about like running a dishwasher. Not an annoying noise like a blender, but loud enough that you wouldn't want to gather around the ice cream maker and chat if you could help it.

Overall I found this to be a great product that is cranking away while I'm writing this review. While it is a new purchase for me I can't say anything about longevity other than to state that it looks and feels like it will last a long time. My first batch of ice cream came out great, I set the timer for 60 minutes, but checked it at 40 minutes and it was already solid, so it may well be freezing around 30 minutes.

I am still doing some testing with recipes, but I am happy with the purchase so far, it works great and cleanup is a snap. Would highly recommend this product if you are looking for a good ice cream machine.

I took a star away for noise. While noise has to be expected for a machine like this, it sure would be nice if they could tone it down a bit. Again the noise isn't a critical issue for me, but it is the only really noticeable issue I have with this machine.

--------

Update 5/26/2013:

I have done well over half a dozen quarts of ice cream now without any issues, most of them back to back. Works exactly as described typically taking between 25-35 minutes to freeze depending on the fat content.

I have found so far that I enjoy the lower fat content ice creams better, but they tend to have more of an issue with ice crystals. For those that haven't messed with Xanthan Gum I would suggest checking it out. It makes a significant difference in the texture of the ice cream and at the very least is worth experimenting with.

Very Simple Vanilla Recipe:

4 cups milk (2%)

1 can (14oz) Eagle Sweetened Condensed Milk

2 teaspoons Vanilla Paste (or extract)

This is one of the most simple recipes as most people have milk on hand, and the canned condensed milk and vanilla can store for a very long time, but as it has a low fat content it has some ice crystals. But throw 1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum in there, and it significantly changes the texture making it fluffier and airier but also smoother with fewer (or smaller) ice crystals. You can also easily change the fat content by changing the milk mixture to half and half, or by swapping out some of the milk for heavy whipping cream, but most people don't have this on hand.

Another thing I like to do is simply pour juice or another drink (like a sprite for example) into the mixer and let it create a slushee for me in about 10 minutes. A great refreshing drink that can be made out of healthy juice, or easy canned drinks, etc... Since you just want a slushee consistency it's fairly quick at only roughly 10 minutes.

After using these only a few times and keeping them in storage for 2 years, all of these pans have rust on the inside and outside.

I've had mine for about 5 months now, possibly less. A couple of weeks ago, I noted that it smelled rusty. And indeed the bottom had already started rusting! I used this pan regularly and also noted that it does not bake evenly. I tried to keep the little rust off my food by lining it with foil before baking but it's too much trouble and I still don't feel secure. I don't think I want to use it at all anymore now. I think it will be worthwhile to invest in something pricier but of better quality. This is not worth your trouble. Or try Pyrex for other purposes.

I got this pan to use with one of Alton's recipes [Good Eats] and I love it. Nothing seems to stick, not cake nor meatloaf.

It cleans up in a jiffy so there is no need to even put it in the dishwasher (if you do be careful as the inside finish will scratch).

Five Stars. Even cooking with a no-stick finish that lives up to its name. I've bought two pans so far with no problem. Only draw back is that you should be very careful placing them in dishwasher as the inside finish will scratch.

Honest reviews on Baker's Secret Basics Nonstick Large Loaf Pan

This low cost loaf pan does everything you would expect a loaf pan to do. It's dark color absorbs enough heat to produce desired browning. It also releases cleanly. The protruding lips serve as handles (although if they were a little bigger they'd be easier to grip while wearing oven mitts). All in all, this is an excellent buy for a loaf pan you should buy two since many recipes call for making two loaves.

I have been so satisfied with these pans that I now have five. I use them to bake bread and nothing ever sticks. Just spray the pans and your bread will slid right out. I had used other pans and always had a problem with my bread sticking even after spraying with oil. The large size is just perfect for a nice large loaf of bread. Don't wash them often, just wipe out after using. I have yet to have any rusting problem with any of them even after washing them. You should always place the pans back in your oven for a minute or two after washing to make sure they are nice and dry before storing. That technique has always kept my pans from rusting. I would recommend these pans, so far I have not found anything better for my bread.

We use the reversible grill more than I ever imagined we would. No issue with the seasoning like some people said. Works great.

The products work very well, especially for a smaller apartment/cooking area. My only wish is that the griddle side of the grill did not have the recesses around the edge. When I cook eggs and do not get them exactly centered on the griddle, the egg rolls into the edges and gets stuck. Other than that, good product.

I used this product to make a pot of soup and was very excited about cooking with cast-iron. After I completed the soup I started to clean the pot and lid. I found rust on the inside of the lid and rust along the sides when moisture did not connect with the cast iron. If it was not so expensive to send back because of it's weight, I would have already done so..unfortunately I am now stuck with it.

This little item was JUST what I needed in addition to my baking equipment! I love baking but I don't like separating....because I usually don't do a good job of it. This little egg separater is PERFECT and does the job well!

This works well one egg at a time. If you use more than one at a time it will be slow.

I've been slow-cooking since the first CrockPots (in the 1950's? -time flies). I've used a couple of dozen or more during that time. Settings were all Low-High-Off, later adding Warm. No bells and whistles. Most of these cookers were very unreliable on temperature control. Except for programming capability, little else has changed in 50 years.

The West Bend Versatility series is a quantum leap forward: non-stick metal pot that can be used to brown meat (any experienced slow-cooker knows what a convenience that is!); converts to a griddle if you don't have one handy; and has an infinite heating control from barely warm to just-short-of-boiling.

Because I'm a gadget geek, I made some tests. (First, please be aware that most slow-cookers typically peak at around the same point --somewhere between 180-210 degrees F, regardless of the heat setting. The main difference between Low, Medium, and High is how quickly the peak temperature is reached. Some of the more sophisticated cookers (the Versatility is one) have lower or higher peaks related to the setting. For the serious cook, these types are preferable).

My tests started with the pot 2/3 full of room-temperature water. I used a calibrated thermometer probe in the center of the pot. I put the cover on, but it wasn't seated where the probe wire exited.

TEMPERATURE SETTING #3 (LOW) HOURS MEASURED TEMPERATURE

1:00 157

2:00 176

3:00 180

4:00 182

5:00 183

6:00 183

7:00 188 (Flatlined)

TEMPERATURE SETTING #4 (MEDIUM)

1:00 170

2:00 188

3:00 194 (Flatlined)

TEMPERATURE SETTING #5 (HIGH)

1:00 155

2:00 198

2:45 209 (Flatlined)

I didn't do a time series on the #1 and #2 settings, but they topped out at 149 and 160 degrees respectively.

Remember that the Versatility setting is infinitely variable, so in-between heating speeds can be used. Also, bear in mind that these temperatures were measuring water only -cooking food may be different.

These ranges were relatively the same on both the 5-quart and 6-quart cookers.

Speaking of quarts, be aware that the "5-quart" has an actual maximum capacity of 4.3 quarts at overflowing. West Bend Customer Service still maintains that it's 5 quarts. The "6-quart" model is an actual 6-quart capacity. Practical capacity for cooking is, of course, less.

As other reviews have noted, there's no "off" setting, so you havee to unplug. However, the cooker end of the cored is unpluggable, so no big deal.

Other reviews have complained about the non-stick coating deteriorating. I refer them to the instructions in the manual, under the heading "Using Your Slow Cooker--First Use" wherein it describes how to avoid damage to the coating. I won't repeat it here -it's in the book. Also, note that while the coating is dishwasher-safe, it will last longer with hand-washing --a breeze due to the non-stick finish. Because so few users actually read directions, West Bend does not cover the non-stick under warranty.

All this said, the Versatiltiy is an incredible value for its price. It's a good example of how excellent design, engineering, and production can result in a quality product at very low cost. It's far and above any cooker I've used before.

4 stars only because it lacks an "off" switch, and the "5-quart" capacity is inaccurate and misleading.

Outstanding product and value!

This is my third West Bend Slow Cooker in 20 years. I got rid of my oldest one and now have two I use regularly. I ordered this one because it had a carrier tote; I take my slow cooker with me to covered-dish dinners and church socials. This is a nice extra feature, but I would have bought a West Bend anyway; I like the adjustable heat-not just high, medium and low. I use my slow cookers to thaw and reheat frozen foods, cook turkey breasts, and make soups. You can put ingredients in the cooker in the morning and come home to a hot dinner. This is a good product, easy to clean and can be used on the stove top or even in the freezer. I highly recommend it.

I got this because of a friend's recommendation about a year and a half ago. I was expecting more of a Rival Crockpot type of device and when I first opened it I thought this just is not going to work well.

I am really surprised. It cooks well on the range top, the griddle part also works well as a griddle, and when you put the two together it also works just fine.

I made a pot roast a couple of weeks ago. I first browned onions, garlic and carrots on the stove top. Then I browned the meat an all sides as well. Took that out and tossed a little wine in to mix it all up and then put the meat, the onions, garlic and carrots and bay leaves, rosemary and thyme in the pot. Added beef stock half way up the roast, set it on the griddle base, turned it to low and let it go for about 6 hours. It came out just right. Everything done in the one pot and just the way I like it.

Way better than the old type of crock pot in my opinion. Lots of uses in one device and easy to clean up as well. Could not do better and it was not expensive.

Honest reviews on West Bend 84915 5-Quart Oblong-Shaped Slow Cooker with Tote

The only reason I can't give this product a 5-star rating is the color. (The picture on Amazon appeared white, the product box used for shipping definitely showed white, but the product is a matte-finish grey. I'm dubious about how it will hold up over time.)

I ordered this product to replace the same thing, received over 30 years ago for a wedding gift. And the only reason I needed a replacement was because the lower portion (element/grill) was lost in a move! All of the original item still worked when last used. I can't say that for any other electrical item that old in my house.

This product has been so reliable and convenient over the years for me that I love to give it for wedding gifts! It's the best way I've found to both brown a roast stove-top, forget it while cooking low on the grill with veggies or beans, and still take the dish to another location. The additional tote I now have with the new cooker will just make transport that much easier. And I frequently refrigerate the leftovers in the pan with lid. Reheating on stove-top is so easy.

Great product!

I received these as a gift chosen from my Amazon Wish List. I was happy with them for a few days until an odd hard lump formed in the 1 cup beaker after using it in the microwave. Hoping that was a fluke, I continued using the others. Then the 2 cup beaker melted into a deformed mess in the microwave. Quite disappointed, I returned them. I want to try another set, but what are the odds that 2 out of 3 were simply defective? For now, I will continue using my old favorites the nesting Pyrex measuring cups.

I like these measuring cups for the most part. I do question their accuracy as I have checked them against both my Pyrex measuring glass and a tupperware measuring cup I have had forever and the Chef'n are a little off. I did have to return the first set because a section of the two cup measure seperated in the microwave while I was heating water. I heated 12 oz of water for two minutes, which is not very long or very warm at all so I can only assume the cup was defective. I haven't had any issues with the second set but I generally keep them out of the microwave now. My only wish it that they came in more colors.

Really like these, the poor spouts work great, i run them through the dish washer, no problem. Heavy for their size, but easy to group, so no problem.

Honest reviews on Chef'n SleekStor Pinch with Pour Measuring Beakers, 3-Piece

Bought these cups because I needed shakers for fresh made lemonade. I sell fresh squeezed lemonade at fairs, festivals and farmers markets. I use 20 or 24 ounce cups, so the standard martini shakers aren't big enough. And I thought the fact these had measurements on them would help us be consistent with the lemonade strength. I also bought the matching lids (Chef'n SleekStor Pinch + Pour Measuring Beaker Lids, Set of 3. The little cup is cute, but too small. The four cup size is just perfect for us. I make the lemonade in the 20/24 ounce cup, adding the lemon juice, sweetener, water and ice. Pour it into the 4 cup, put the lid on, shake it up, pour it back in the cup and give it to them with straw. They are happy, and so am I. I love happy customers.

It is nice to have the 3 sizes, but I find myself still using my old glass measuring cups.

Pros: Stackable, so they are easy to store. Squishy, so they are easy to pour from.

Cons: Harder to read than glass cups. Says do not microwave empty. Not sure why you would, but this made me a bit nervous.

For starters, this thing does everything as promised. It is a nice addition to have for your tripod. I protects it well and makes transporting easy. Still, for a made in China items that there's really not a lot to, I think it was a bit pricey.

Its a tote bag what really to say? It stores a tripod and shorter than its 60 inch taller brother. Good material if managed properly must place in the proper location to prevent it from being damage.
