This item is very very useful and comes really handy for quick South Indian breakfast.

So far I have been using this from the past 2 weeks and so far I have no complaints.

Quality:

The quality of plastic is good and it is decently sturdy. The Idli trays are strong enough and their character doesn't change even after leaving them for 6 minutes in the microwave.

(The last set I had, used to have this problem).

Quantity:

I wish this set could host up to 4 trays (16 Idlis) so that it would made our life little more easy. But this is not a complain, just a "better-to-have" idea.

Size:

The Idlis when cooked are small. Each Idli spot holds only 1.5 oz (50 ml) of batter. You can imagine how big the end product could be. :)

Cleaning:

Very very easy to clean if you let the whole unit soak in water (hot/cold) for 10 minutes. Cleaning the steel unit needs more effort, but that is an entirely a different ball game (with respect to taste) --> :)

Bottom Line:

I really enjoyed this item and surely recommend buying this.

I absolutely love this product, this item is extremely useful for anyone who wants to make quick idli's. The plastic quality is alright, although it tends to get little hot outside as the steam escapes from sides too. I usually use this with prepackaged batter from local indian stores and the idli's are soft and nice. It hardly takes 10 mins to make breakfast using this thing (including any chutneys which you can make while its cooking in oven). Highly recommended.

This product is OK . The plates have micro holes for the steam to come through , but the problem is if the batter is not thick enough, it leaks through the plate and half the content gets wasted.

These do what they're intended to do, as they keep wine fresh for several days. They aren't as good as the preservation systems that use inert gas, however those systems are a lot more money.

The instructions say to pump the air out until the gauge is in the red area. Follow these instructions to the letter! If you keep pumping and pumping until the gauge is all the way at the end of the red area, you're going to put so much pressure on the stoppers that the rubber on the flanges will crack. This will cause the stopper to become unusable.

So do not pump too much air out of the bottle and create high pressure if you don't want to frequently replace the stoppers. This is an acceptable device for its price point.

I like it. Used it with red and white wine. Works fine. It shows you how much to pump. It will keep vacuum for a week or so. The wine is preserved only for 3-4 days though. After which the wine will ferment and the taste will alter. NOTE: pull the little cork in the middle all the way up BEFORE pumping the air. Otherwise it won't work!

I got drawn by the novelty that there is a dial, wine, and vacuum stopper...genius right? Somewhere along the way metrokane decided to cut corners, which is sad because i own a lot of their products. Like many said, the rubber part disintegrates after a while (6 months for me). Meanwhile the cheap grey original vacuum stoppers have lasted 4+ years for me. Stick to the classic.

I have used my metrokane vacuum stoppers for over a year and they work great. I like the fact they have a guage so I feel confident there is a vacuum. it lasts a week. the wine still tastes fresh, even pinot noir which goes off quickly. I wore out the pump and had to replace. the stoppers still work although one got stuck in the red zone so I pried off the plastic cover and pushed it back to zero (blue) . works ok again. the new vacuum product 6254 is electric and looks spiffy but no vacuum guage. add a vacuum guage to the electric vacuum stoppers and I will buy one. Nerd alert: Don't expect microtor vacuums. This is wine not deep space.

Wow I was looking for a replacement for my Pyrex baking dishes after having lost a glass 9x13 pan to thermal shock. (Scary!) This baker is definitely more expensive than the dishes you can pick up at your local big box, but sooooooooooooo much better. It's nice and deep perfect for lasagne, casseroles, and hearty cobblers. (No more over-flowing fruit juices!) Nothing, and I mean nothing sticks to the glaze; clean up is literally a 2 minute soak and then a rinse. It's built heavy enough to tolerate some abuse, but it is light enough to move a full pan from the freezer to over. (Yes, it really goes directly from freezer to oven, and it won't shatter.) I will be cooking with this pan for the rest of my life!

I have the medium sized lasagna pan and I'm so happy with it that I decided to buy the large one too. The size and depth is perfect for lasagna or for roasting and this pan has a hefty weight on it. It will not stain or discolor with use the way my Corningware white lasagna pan did over time. The only area that will absorb stains is the bottom which has no glaze but the rest will remain clean. It's a superior product that will never wear out.

Very pleased with the quality. When it arrived, I was surprised at how large it is. Considered sending it back for that reason--Primarily I just want it to reheat single-serving meals (and NOT use a microwave). But then I thought it's not a bad idea to be able to use it for larger servings. I love it. The curved bottom is nice, it's easy to clean and pretty and shiny enough that I hung it in the kitchen.(Which works better than on a shelf as the curved bottom naturally keeps it from staying upright--the photo is deceiving in that regard). Definitely recommend this and all Cuisinart pots & pans.

My usual 2 quart double boiler was just too small for making 2 quarts of yogurt. There was a little head room, but not much. The Cuisinart double boiler was the only large size that I could find. The curved bottom is nice for using a whisk in the pan, but the only drawback is that it rocks trying to set it on a counter. Not a good idea. So, I just set it in the sink drain when I need to set it down not in the lower pot. Great product.

Do I even have to write a review? It's a double boiler, it can't fail unless you do. I received this very inexpensive, quality double boiler a full day earlier than expected, and was able to surprise my lady with chocolate covered strawberries two full days before Mother's Day. Boom.

Think about that: For the price of a bouquet of the same thing from Edible Arrangements, I got all that and a double boiler.

The bottom line is, I would recommend this product to you.

As always, a great price and fast delivery from Amazon. This Fiesta cookware is rarely seen in my local stores and a great value when purchased in the 11-piece set. If you are trying to coordinate with your scarlet-colored Fiestaware, this works perfectly. I was interested in the Thermolon non-stick surface with these pans, as I was looking for an alternative to teflon coating. I've found if you follow the instructions and get the pans cleaned in a timely manner, the non-stick works just fine for me. A nice value if purchased at $199 or below, the full MSRP of $349 may be too much to pay for the set.

Wonderful color and construction, that's where the good things stop. The Thermolon coating on these pans is the worst I have ever seen or experienced. There is nothing you can cook in these pans that won't stick. I have wasted my money and my time. Please do not waste YOUR MONEY AND TIME on buying this product.

My issue with ordinary oven mitts was that I would accidentally dip the tips of the thumb into food all the time, not sure if it was lack of coordination or incompetence, but the grip on this glove is easy to clean, as well as being great at gripping glass and almost completely heat resistant. the dry wall anchors they supply are useless, if you plan on it holding any weight other than it's own. So, unless, you have wooden studs to screw into, plan on making a trip to the hardware store. Also it's a pain to try and mount it on your own, so I'd recommend having a friend on stand-by to help out. Other than that it's a decent pot rack and has really helped with the clutter in my small kitchen.

Most of my cookware is either Calphalon (non-stick) or Cuisinart (stainless). A 10" skillet is my daily "go to" pan. I have larger and smaller but I really needed another 10" one for omelettes and the like. I was about to buy another Calphalon when I read a very positive review of the Pure Living pan on Tasting Table, saw that the price was right on Amazon, and ordered one. I absolutely love it! It is used at least once a day for sauteing fish, chicken or vegetables and is a dream for eggs. Classic French omelettes are easily folded and slide right out onto the plate.

In addition, cleanup couldn't be easier. Once it has cooled, I simply wipe it out with a paper towel, finish with a soapy sponge, and towel dry. It looks just as good as it did on day one.

I should point out that the Amazon description is misleading in two respects. It states: "Soft touch and ergonomic silicone riveted handle, sear and deglaze with ease, cook at high temperature (up to 750-degree f)." That 750 ºF rating is for the ceramic coating only, not the entire pan. WearEver's site explains that the product is "Oven safe to 350 ºF if handles have any silicone or phenolic parts." Amazon's description further states, "...safe for all cooking methods except induction." What WearEver says is "...safe for all cooking SURFACES(except induction)." The emphasis on "surfaces" is mine. All cooking "methods" would include broiler use for which it is not suitable because of the silicone handle.

Do those differences detract from the product in my view? No, not at all. For range top use it is the best non-stick pan I have ever used. The fact that it is a bargain, makes it even better.

I have delayed review to see how these would last and so far I believe it is about 6 months they are terrific. They are really easy to clean and as of yet I have not found anything that has ruined the cooking surface. With regular non stick there are many foods (honey or maple) ham, turkey etc that will RUIN there surfaces. To date this has not been the case. No sticky parts.

I prefer cast iron but if you want a good non stick that doesn't require weight lifting these rock!

I was told about ceramic frying pans by my friend, and was skeptical at first. "How can a ceramic pan be non-stick?" Did some research on the net and came across this pan, and decided to give it a try after reading some reviews.

My 10 year-old son loves making eggs in the morning, and he swears by this pan. It's also reasurring to know that this product is PTFE PFOA cadomium free, especially when you're feeding the food to your children.

This product does what it's supposed to do cook food without sticking to it, takes very little effort to clean and it actually looks nice. It is a LOT MORE AFFORDABLE than other leading non-stick pans like Scanpans, which often receive 'less than ideal' reviews over the company's customer service quality.

I'll be buying other products from WearEver to see whether they're as good as this one.

This skillet has given me pretty good performance. Nothing seems to stick, and what appears to stick really doesn't it just wipes clean, no problem. The ONLY problem that I can relate is that the bottom of the skillet warped a tad. Since every aluminum skillet I've ever had did this, I'm not too concerned about it, but I did knock it down to only 4 stars for it.

Followup: After a few months, the porcelain has worn out and the skillet is no longer 'non-stick', not to mention that it finally warped too much to use. Most things get 'sticky', and everything leaves a brown stain that required elbow grease to remove. Not good! I won't buy another one. I will drop my rating from 4 to 2 stars. I at least got a year from all my PTFE-coated skillets.

The first pan I recieved I had to return. I did not have to return it becuase of the manufacture, but because it received a dent in delivery. The pan was returned with no questions asked and I received a new one in the mail in 3 days. Very fast delivery! I love the color, not that that matters. I have done scrambled eggs and over medium eggs and the eggs did not stick, they slip and slide. I did spay a little olive oil on the pan with my pamper chef spayer. The pan says that it is dishwasher safe, but I have only rinsed it so far because everything has just slid right off. There were no funny smells, no staining after cooking. The bottom did not turn colors. I have a glass top electric stove and it is safe to cook with on it. So far this pan is waaaaay better than my teflon or cast iron pans!!!! It is deffinately worth the money!

After trying & returning several microwave rice cookers I decided to give this one a try because of the great price and Nordic Ware's reputation. You MUST follow Nordic Wares instructions for cooking rice. Using any other recipes/directions, will result in your rice being soggy & the water not absorbing. The one noticible difference between the other cookers I tried and this one is that I didn't have to clean my microwave after using this rice cooker. NO SPILLS & OVERFLOWS! I just ordered a second cooker to place in storage just in case this model is discontinued. GREAT PRODUCT AT A GREAT PRICE!

Left home, missed the convenience of a REAL electric rice cooker, but this is the SAME THING!

Pros: Cooks rice without me having to worry about burning it on a stove. It's just the same as a rice cooker...you measure rice, water, put it in the microwave and forget about it. I guess the only extra steps you do have to worry about is that when it's done, you do have to go close the steamer lid and wait a few more minutes.

Cons: Virtually non-existent...but I must list them anyway. It is slightly a pain to clean the entire thing when I'm done compared to an electronic cooker. The lid comes apart in two pieces and I have to clean that too. (I don't have a dishwasher so that's why I mentioned this). For some reason, my little veggie bowl does not look like the one in the picture. I haven't used it for veggies or pasta yet but mine is shaped more like a bowl. When you first take it out of the microwave, there will be some water settling on the top and might get it on yourself. It may scald you but...not badly since it's just a little.

My advice: can get a little soggy but you just gotta adjust and use less water the next time. All microwaves are different. The instructions calls for 1 cup of rice per 1 1/2 cup of water for 10-12 minutes. I use 2 cups of rice per 2 1/2 cups of water for 12 minutes and I'm still finding it a lil soggy but it gets better every time.

Update 12/30/11: It's been a few years now. Have a house and all....and a REALLY awesome normal rice cooker that plugs into an outlet. I really love it. HOWEVER, when I want FAST rice done in less than 15 minutes, I still whip this microwave version out. 5/5 still.

Update 5/11/12: Wanted to add another pro: With leftover rice, just put the lid back on and stick it in the fridge. Then, when you want to reheat the rice again, reheat the entire thing in the microwave. You CAN'T do that with a standard metal bowl from a traditional rice cooker. No need to transfer back and forth from a tupperware either. I think my traditional rice cooker is just a pretty gadget that sits on my counter now. The traditional is only useful when I'm in my occasional "organic" mode and try to avoid the microwave for random fear of radiation.

I got spoiled to good rice while I was living in Japan. This cooker makes good rice if you follow the directions and then adjust the timing on your microwave to match your style of rice. It's also very easy to clean up--the rice "gunk" doesn't stick to it. The cooker works wonderfully, and when I had a chance to buy a second unit at a very reasonable price, I jumped at it. Very good product; it does exactly what it's supposed to.

I have owned this hamburger press for years, and I have found that it works better than any other that I have used. My mother has owned hers for over 40 years. You get what you pay for was never truer. This very flimsy item broke on it's fist use. The turning mechanism broke easily and the screw would not turn the blade inside, so the patties stick inside and need to be scraped out. It could still be used as a big cookie cutter.

This is a fabulous pan for any egg dish of course, and you don't really need any fat (cooking spray will void the warranty) . Any saute/fry task is a joy in this beautiful pan, the calorie saving is a bonus. Watch those handles though, they get hot!
