I had mixed results with this set. First, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the funnel. It fits nicely on all canning jars. You'll need to retrain your eye as far as filling to the right level. The great thing about it, though, is that the there are two rings at the bottom. An outer ring supports the funnel as it rests on the counter. The inner ring that comes in contact with the food to be canned is raised off the counter when you set it down after use. No more slopping up your work area with jelly, syrup or sauce, etc! Great design!

The magnetic wand lid lifter is OK, but i think I prefer my simple wooden dowel with a magnet bolted to the end.

I had serious problems with the jar lifter. The grip gave way at times, especially on heavy quart jars. Perhaps the steel is too thin? I completely closed the grip so the two sides were touching, but the jars still slipped. Not cool.

The quality of these canning tools is excellent. However, I do wish the headspace increment markings on the funnel could be a bit larger/bolder for more ease in reading. Even so, as it is the funnel is very helpful and saves time avoiding guesswork.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If you are new to canning or want to give someone a starter set this is a great kit. Aside from the jars and lids, it has what you need to get started canning. I found the funnel to be especially useful because of the included headspace measurements. The lifters design is interesting and it worked fine for me although some people expressed concerns about it's ability to handle wide-mouths jar reliability. The lid lifter actually works better than my previous one so this is a welcome upgrade.

Overall this is a good set that does everything you need for basic canning.

This is my very first piece of Staub (have several Le Creuset) and it is simply adorable! The first thing I did when I unpacked it was set it on my stove and it has been there ever since. I always wanted to try Staub and I doubt that I will be disappointed. I decided to try this piece first, as I knew it had to be beautiful and with Valentine's Day so near, I felt it was the one thing I should try.

The quality is obvious, as the finish and color are gorgeous and it is very heavy for the size, with a snug fitting lid.

I plan on serving red and white heart-shaped ravioli with Alfredo sauce (didn't think the usual tomato sauce would look too good with the bright red ravioli hearts) for Valentine's Day dinner and I will use the Staub heart to heat the sauce and serve it at the table. This piece is a little small, so I will probably primarily use it as my sauce and gravy pot year round. I love the idea of having a cast iron gravy pot as I feel I can leave it on my "warmer" burner while dinner is being prepared, and I won't experience any scorching or burning.

If I experience any problems when I actually start using it (I really doubt it), I will update this review. But, as for now, I recommend this to anyone who cooks with enameled cast iron and is looking for a cheery addition to their kitchen!

I bought this for my daughter to use to heat milk for her new baby girl. It's cute and is just the right size for a baby bottle. They suggest that you not microwave baby bottles, as the rays kill all of the nutrients in breast milk and regular mill as well.

I'm really not understanding the negative reviews for this product...this is revolutionary! I made roasted red & yellow pepper soup in 45 minutes and it was absolutely perfect restaurant quality. My secret?? I read the instruction manual. And I followed the recipe. My plan is to use recipes in the book they provide for the first several uses until I've truly got the hang of when to stir vs. when to blend & how/when/why the heat element stops.

My soup did not merely 'simmer', it came to a full, rolling boil. It was wonderfully hot when I sat down to it for dinner.

And cleaning could not get better!! I used a knife & cutting board. Since I didn't know my recipe well, I also needed a measuring cup & spoon, but beyond that everything else cooked in the blender. And after the soup was done? The top portion of the jug unscrews from the bottom collar with the 'chopping' attachment so that you can thoroughly wash the blade/heating element by hand and wash the jug in the dishwasher. The person who felt that everything tasted of garlic & onion on a subsequent use must not have discovered that the jug of the blender unscrews. (It comes screwed together in the box when you take it out, but if you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS did I mention that? it tells you that part.)

I love soup, so I'm not likely one to ask about smoothies, etc. I'll probably continue to use my hand blender to make a single serving smoothie and just use this blender for savory items. I'm very excited to use it again & again this winter!

Have been on the look out for this type of blender ever since I got to know of the Italian version of it at 5 times the price!! Cuisinart makes this very affordable model which cooks and blends ingredients to give you a beautifully finished soup, sauce or what ever you need which requires the saute, cook and blend process. Have tried it for soups at the moment and the results have been fantastic. Some prepping of vegetables needed as they need to be cut into small cubes; but i found that slicing them with a mandolin is a quicker way to get paper thin results which cook quicker and better in the bowl.

I recommend it highly for anyone with young children and for soup lovers of all ages. Accompanying booklet gives several options of what can be done with this machine

I ordered this on Monday and got it yesterday. I made a Butternut Squash soup out of it and it was execellent. I found in the cookbook that comes with it a tomoto soup and ginger butternut squash soup and I will be trying more stuff. I find that this is easier than the stove top and not other pans to get dirty. Everything is in the blender portion and I will be making a chuncky vegetable soup with beef stock to make it a little tastier.

I'm probably the only person who was turned on to this appliance by my favorite bartender. Yep. Not kidding. He was talking about a "cleanse" he and his wife were doing and said he'd found this awesome Cuisinart thingie that made smoothies and soups. I was skeptical, but went home and started Googling.

He paid $200 at Williams-Sonoma, but Amazon came through with $150 plus free shipping. I was still skeptical.

I'm not the review-writing type, but I have to say this is the single best kitchen appliance I've ever had. I've had it for exactly 48 hours and I've made the yummiest Coconut Butternut Squash soup, an eggplant and red bell pepper veggie spread, and now tomato soup. For each recipe, here's my total cleanup damage: 1 knife, 1 cutting board, and the machine. That's it. If we were going vegetarian, I swear this is the one gadget that would get me there.

I don't know what people mean when they say their machine gets the food lukewarm. Literally within 45 seconds of turning it on to heat oil, butter, etc, my machine is ready for the next step---usually onions and garlic. When I made the tomato soup, everything goes in at once, and it was bubbling hot within 1-2 minutes.

I can't wait to try more recipes. I have limited kitchen space and this machine will do so much with so little space.

To my bartender----thank you!!!! (I'll tell him in person when we go out to eat again, but that may be awhile because I'm in love with my soup maker.)

I had similar problems as was stated by a previous review about the temperature. Mine boiled too much and on medium was too cool. After using this twice I realized there had to be something wrong with it. I didn't think it would be selling if it worked like this. I returned it for another and problem solved! My new on works perfectly. And as others say, quick, and very little mess. It is true that you will have to use the instruction booklet for a while but after that it is really easy. One good tip is to use the brush included for cleaning the blade and around the blades. Also, I found that to let sauces or soups thicken I needed to open the circular top, to let some of the steam escape. Some soups need an extra 30 minutes, so you will have to set the timer again. But once you work with it for a while it is a good kitchen appliance.

This Bunn BX-B 10-cup coffe brewer is a pricey but fantastic coffee maker for your home or small office. I bought one for my office, so that I can make myself a quick pot of coffee when I get to work or whenever someone stops by to visit my office during the day. This machine makes coffe FAST and the flavor of the coffee is always consistent. Although I have never found many of the Bunn coffee makers to be much of a fashion statement, this unit is fairly high-tech looking, with its black and stainless color combination. Since the water flows out of this unit so quickly, using a showerhead type spray pattern, I highly suggest that you always use genuine Bunn coffee filters as the store brand filters are usually not tall enough, causing the ground coffee to splash up and over the edge of the shorter filters.

One noteable difference between this and most previous pour-over Bunn models is that this unit does not require the use of a seperate water pitcher. You simply fill your coffee pot with water, lift the little door on the top/front of the unit and pour your water in. The most important step is to place the coffee pot on the warmer plate, being sure to center it properly, before lowering the door on the top of the coffee maker. As soon as you lower the door the water will start to flow quickly. If you lower the door before you place the pot underneath, you will likely end up with a bit of a mess. Also, I recommend that you insert your filter and pour in your measured amount of ground coffee before pouring water into the Bunn, because even with the door up I find that some water tends to drip from the output nozzle, causing water to drip down onto the warmer plate. I fill my pot with water, set it aside while installing my filter and ground coffee, then pour in my water, center the pot on the warmer plate and then lower the door. This has produced proper function every time, without any mess to clean up.

The cons are somewhat minor but the lack of an automatic shutoff really bothers me. I ended up purchasing a seperate digital appliance timer, which I plug the Bunn coffee maker into, so that I can set power on and off times. This way I don't have to worry about leaving the warmer plate turned on over night or over the weekend. Overall I am extremely happy with my Bunn BX-B coffee brewer. It is easy to use and makes a great tasting pot of coffee in just under 3 minutes. It is also a great device for producing plain hot water. If you exclude the filter and coffee this unit produces a pot of very hot water in less time than it takes to make the normal pot of coffee. This is great for making instant coffee, hot chocolate, tea, instant oatmeal, etc. The BX-B carries a pretty hefty price tag (as all Bunn models do), but it is built well and makes excellent coffee in a flash. If you believe that time is money (as I do), then the Bunn BX-B is worth every penny for all of the time you'll save. =o)

This is not my first Bunn. The one I just replaced gave us many years of

faithful service. The reason I made this purchase is the age of the old one and an occasional strange noise. I did not want to get caught without a coffee pot. The new Bunn arrived very quickly and I am pleased

with the way it looks. However, the quality is not the same as the old

one. Also this pot sprung a leak after a few weeks of using it. I will probably have to replace this one much sooner than the last one. I will

see what else is on the market at that time.

Since I wrote this review we contacted Bunn about the leak problem. They

promptly replaced the pot with a new one. I would highly recommend dealing with the Bunn Company. We love our new pot.

I bought this to replace an older Bunn which I loved, but was accidentally ruined by my wife. However, the new model does not heat the water hot enough. I performed several tests and the water conistently comes out at 180 degrees. This is below Bunn's stated temperature of 190. Ten degrees may not sound like much, but it makes a big difference.

I usually put a pot of coffee in a thermos after it is brewed. Since the Bunn's brewing temperature is so low, the coffee does not stay warm for very long. I believe that a good coffee maker should heat the water a little above 190 so that the coffee comes out hot.

I believe other reviewers have had the same complaint. I sure wish Bunn would go back to their old design. I think this is going to be the last Bunn I will purchase.

I have owned both old and new versions of the Bunn home coffee machine. I have gone through 3 of the home brewers in an office environment where they work 24 hrs. a day and are never subject to deliming or other maintenance .. other than normal washing.

At home I've owned Bunn home coffee machines for the last 20 years; I'm on my 5th one. Forget the Mr. Coffee and those digital-timer wonders that are ok, but just don't work that well.

I have noticed quality control issues with the newer models that are a little disturbing .. I don't like the straight design of the new coffee decanter ... the old onion-dome classic is what I really liked because the decanter just worked better .. balance with a full pot in hand, no spilling or sloushing problems .. and yes, it goes naturally back where it is supposed to go .. wish Bunn would get this right again and just give us the retro-classic machine!

Secondly, my older machines all lasted longer than the newer models .. which have problems with the lighted switch sometimes going out .. and the older machine was just better built .. even the switches (a very simple design) was superior to the cheap switches they now use .. and replacement is expensive for what you get.

Nothwithstanding these problems the Bunn home brewer makes excellent coffee and does it fast .. wish they'd get control of the quality issues and make replacement parts less expensive .. I recently lost that little sprayhead .. probably a 30 cent part that costs you $7 for shipping alone, c'mon Bunn .. as much as these machines go for new .. you should just give these away.

PS: the old decanter was much better .. I don't like the new decanter and don't care that it is made from Schott glass .. it feels too thin; and more importantly the styling is terrible.

I don't normally review a item after owning it just over a week, but today I decided I should review the Bunn BX. Like I said, I have only owned it just over a week. No problems setting it up, just follow the instructions. It has made good coffee from day one. I love getting it ready to brew and then going out to get the paper. It's ready before I can get out the door. With my old brewer, I still was waiting after I started reading the paper.

This morning put the icing on the cake for me. I had just put coffee in the basket when the electric went out. I thought No coffee. There was a cup left from yesterday, maybe I could heat it in the microwave, but could not even do that. Then it hit me, there was heated water in the tank. All I need to do was pour the cold water in to push that hot water out. So five minutes into a power outage, I was brewing a nice hot "5 star" cup of coffee. I would think one could brew coffee even a half hour into a power outage.

The only down side to the Bunn is that it is not a 12 cup. But I can put up with that after this morning.

If I had studied the measurements before buying this pan, I would have realized that 4.8" is the size of the surface in contact with the burner. My smallest electric burner is 7" with a smaller ring of 6". In use, this would place the handle of the pan into a column of blazing heat rising from an over-sized burner. Ouch! I haven't seen an electric range with a burner smaller than 6".

You'd think I would give it fewer stars, since it is useless to me. I haven't even tried it after seeing the obvious burner mis-match. However! I have kept all the packaging and will surprise a friend who uses a gas stove. She will go nuts for it: a heavy pan with handles solidly riveted and a tight-fitting lid. And it is gorgeous, as you can see from the Amazon photo. With a gas stove, she can limit the size of the flame under the little pot so as to cook only the contents of the pot and not the sides and handle.

If you are trying to coordinate with your scarlet-colored Fiestaware, this works perfectly. I was interested in the Thermolon non-stick surface with these pans, as I was looking for an alternative to teflon coating. I've found if you follow the instructions and get the pans cleaned in a timely manner, the non-stick works just fine for me. Wonderful color and construction, that's where the good things stop. The Thermolon coating on these pans is the worst I have ever seen or experienced. There is nothing you can cook in these pans that won't stick. I have wasted my money and my time. Please do not waste YOUR MONEY AND TIME on buying this product.

Just purchased this a couple of weeks ago and used it for the first time last night. The food came out crisp and not at all oily. However, you gotta be careful with this one.

The clip that lifts the basket while draining will drip hot oil onto your stovetop. We had a slight flame up which I wasn't expecting, but was able to blow out quickly.

The handle will not stay in place. Every time my husband or I tried to dump the food out, the handle collapsed. He thought it was my technique so he tried and same thing happened. Yes, we had both locked the handle into place.

You do have to be careful of your oil level.

I don't think I will let my teenagers use this pan and I will probably go ahead and find a machine to use instead.

Two quarts of oil is almost too much without it bubbling over when submerging the basket with 1.5lbs of fries. With 2qts of oil the level just reaches the bottom of the basket in the raised position.

Not too much to say here. I bought this to make french fries, onion rings, etc. It stayed nice and hot once the oil was up to temperature and the basket handle didn't get too hot when the food was ready to comeout. It might serve as a backup pot of some kind but, for the price, I think I'll just keep it as a deep fryer and leave it at that. Recommended!

Simple magnet test can prove it. It is regular steel with a sort of chrome coat or something. Mine started chipping after few uses and now the bear metal is exposed. The pan started to rust on the chipped spots.

Purchased the T-Fal pan to replace an older T-Fal pan. I wanted a pan which had smaller diameter that would fit/cover the large burner on our electric cooktop. The pan fits perfectly. Heats up rapidly and maintains constant heat. The large handle and auxilliary front handle are great when cooking/serving large dishes such as beef stew, cabbage and sausage and preparing any large dish. The glass dome cover contains moisture from cooking while venting enough steam to prevent overcooking. My only negative comment would be that the cover handle is small and you can burn yourself . Other than this the oan is a winner!

I received my new pan right on time. I loved it immediately. This has the depth that I was looking for as it measures 3 1/2 inches high without the cover. It is well made and quite nice looking. I'm really enjoying using this pan. I love how it cooks so well and evenly, even with a medium setting. I cooked salmon the other evening and it turned out beautifully. I look forward to cooking plenty of meals in this pan. It's sturdy and it is easy to clean. I also love having a clear glass cover for it and extra handle on the pan so it can be lifted with both hands. That is very helpful for us cooks who have arthritis.

I bought this to go with a set of 12 I believe of almost identical pans. I thought this was about the only thing I thought the set needed to make it complete for my kitchen. I cook a lot of large meals so there's leftovers to make other nights easy. And what can I say except this pan is perfect! I couldn't be happier. The size is great for my needs. The second handle is very useful because of course if I'm cooking a lot of food in it it will be heavy so using both handles to pick it up adds more stability. Nothing sticks in it and it's very easy to clean. I think this pan would make a great addition to anyone's kitchen.

I swear by Victorinox(Forshner) knives and own well over a dozen, from fillet to chef's knives. I have found they are the best knife for the price both in the kitchen and at the fillet table. They not only feel right but also hold an edge even when cutting thru bones. I would rate most of them a five. That said though, I feel this one though is too wimpy for filleting most fish and I base this on my experience as I fillet hundreds of fish a year both in Michigan and Florida. The knife seems to bend too much when I apply a small amount of force to feel and ride on the bones as I remove the fillets from the fish. It does do a good job of skinning the fish though.

I Love these pots. They clean up very well. Don't know why the other review says they had burnt food. I have an electric stove maybe that is the difference. The only problem is that the glass covers sometimes have water pooled under the handle and I need to unscrew it a little to release the fluid. other wise quite happy with the quality.

This pan is very thin along the bottom. It warped the second time I used it on my flat electric stove. It might be more useful on another type of stove, but this pan is definitely not for electric stoves.

I have the de Buyer carbon steel pan as well as the heavier mineral pan which is slower to season than the carbon steel pan. You have to effectively season (black patina) the surface in order to achieve stronger grill marks. The grill lines seem a little wide; depending on the weight of the food, the grill marks can be narrow or wide. Heavier foods will bear wider grill marks. I prefer the healthier 99% iron surface of the mineral pans. You have to use it frequently in order to prevent rust and maintain a nonstick black patina.

I love my De Buyer Mineral pan. It's heavy, durable, wasn't hard to season. During seasoning it did smoke alot, and smell up the house a bit but it's definely worth it. I like that it's recycled, and organic. I have a few other De Buyer products and honestly think everything is quality products. I have noticed a small mark of rust but i believe having it a few months before getting to use it caused this. I oiled it up and ot hasn't gotten worse. Would recommend to anyone.
