I received it as a gift a few years ago. The caldero quickly became my "go to" pot. It makes perfect rice everytime. It heats evenly. I use it for frying or one pot meals. My friend helped me make suace from fresh tomatoes, and she fell in love with my caldero. She tried to "steal" it from me! I found this one on Amazon to give her for Christmas. I would suggest this for bridal shower/wedding, housewarming gift, or for anyone who enjoys cooking!

I bought my first Imusa Caldero over a decade ago. It's one of the best and most useful (and frequently used) cooking tools I own. And I own everything from cast iron to All-Clad--each is valuable in its own way. Tonight I made marinara sauce for spaghetti and meatballs. Over the past month I've made everything in my Caldero from pot roast to chili to picadillo to chutney to...(you get the idea!) It's a great pot!

I have some very expensive cookware and those cast iron enamel coated dutch ovens, and they're great. Sometimes I need an extra pot when you have a number of things going on the stove. I ran across this pot when I was looking for a tamale steamer. I had never seen them before, and the price was right so I purchased. So far I've made my chicken & dumplings, hoppin' john, rice, red beans and goulash, all cooked to perfection. The pot is easy to clean up and the size is great for large amounts. The weight is nice, because it's easy to handle and clean. The only down side is that the handle on the lid is not oven safe, so it can't go from the stove to the oven. Still a great pot and worth the money.

Cooks food well esp. meats. The only thing is that it becomes permanently stained on the inside with time.

Its the perfect size for large groups, but I was expecting it to be more thick than it is. I have a smaller Caldero that is twice as thick as this one. The first time I made rice with this one, I burnt the bottom. I'm not sure if it was because I had never used it before, or if it was because of how thin the caldero is.

The dimensions must be for the shipping box. The capacity is obviously wrong. A "mini" cocotte can't be just under 1 quart in capacity. I have used Krups espresso machines for over 25 years. This is my third Krups and it is stunningly superior to the previous models I used. (The last one lasted 18 years and was still in usable condition when I upgraded to the XP5280.) The taste of the espresso made by the XP5280 is vastly superior to that produced by the previous Krups model I owned, and to the espresso made by other brands of machine that my friends own. The coffee also arrives in the cup with a wonderfully thick crema. The taste is, I'm guessing, a result of the way the machine carefully controls the water temperature and way the pump and the head work together to control rate of flow of hot water through the coffee grains, in combination with the effectiveness of the auto-tamping mechanism. The auto-tamping is a great feature. (With my prior machine I was lazy about tamping and somewhat deterred from doing it properly by the way the pump seemed to be 'laboring' when I over-tamped.) The auto-tamp gets the tamping just right. The milk-frother is a huge improvement over the one on the earlier model. It makes more than enough froth. (I had to get a bigger frothing jug to accommodate the froth.) It is also much easier to clean.

I see that other reviewers have had problems with the plastic latches on the frother breaking. I agree that they do look a bit fragile, so I am being careful with them. The unlatching process requires a bit of practice: you have to make sure the latch-locking ring is pulled all the way down before trying to pull the frother off the plastic thing at the end of the pipe.

[Update, July 14, 2012: Krups has taken note! A re-designed frother was released a few days ago, part number MS-623107, and it's is a huge improvement. There are no fragile latches. It is secured by a twisting action. The kit ($11.99) includes the frother and a replacement plastic connector, to which the frother connects, that you screw onto the steam pipe. If your original frother has broken Krups will, I hope, send you the kit for free. My original frother hasn't broken yet; but I bought a new kit just in case.]

[Further update, January 11, 2013: One of the latches on the original frother just snapped off as I was using it. It was rather alarming as the frother detached suddenly and steam exploded out of the naked pipe in a scary manner. I can see why Krups re-designed this. I attached the replacement twist-on frother and it is much easier to put on and take off, and much less likely to break and cause injury. If the machine you receive is older stock, with the old-style frother that has with three claws, immediately call Krups and insist that they send you a free replacement.]

Overall, everything about the machine exceeds what I had expected and I recommend this top-of-the-home-line model without reservation.

Some small observations (I hope Krups Product Development team will note these):

(a) The instruction manual could be improved. For example:

When periodically doing a full cleaning of the brewing head, and removing the plastic part with the nozzles, the manual says "replace the black plastic part and turn to the right until the two arrows line up", whereas it should really say "replace the black plastic part, making sure that it is positioned with the arrow on it close to the arrow on the metal part, and turn clockwise until the two arrows line up". (If you replace it in poor lighting conditions, getting the arrows about 180 degrees apart, it will get badly stuck and extremely hard to pull out without damaging the plastic.)

The "Problems" table in the manual says that all three button-lights flashing means that the steam knob is in the steam position. What it should stay is "Either the steam knob has been left in the steam position (or is maybe just a little bit off the "O" position), or the water tank is empty."

(b) With respect to the comment above, about the steam knob, the "feel" of the knob as you get to the "O" position is a little odd: it feels as through you might be straining something when you apply enough turning force to actually get it all the way to the "O". I'd prefer a much more solid stop sensation.

(c) It would have been nice if the steam knob had been designed with a "hold" position, at which the steam is shut off but the machine remains in steam mode (i.e., does not go into the cool-down cycle to prepare for coffee-making). If you need to pause steam making (e.g., to cope with overspilling froth or to change over to frothing a second jug of milk) you have no choice but to turn the steam off, wait while the cool-down cycle finishes, press the steam button again, and wait until the machine reaches steam temperature again -all a needless waste of time, water, and electricity.

(d) The turning force you need to apply to turn the brewing-head handle as it is auto-tamping (note: I am not trying to turn it too far), is quite a lot relative to the weight of the machine. If you put the machine on a very smooth surface or on a plastic drip mat, the machine will tend to rotate as you operate the handle (particularly when the water tank has very little water in it) unless you place a steadying hand on the top of the machine. The machine would have felt a lot steadier if Krups had put some weights in the base.

However, these are small points that just have to be noted and do not diminish the pleasure of using this excellent machine.

A frother-cleaning tip: after using the frother (whether or not you plan to remove it to give it a proper cleaning), with the machine in the ready-to-make-coffee state (= left three lamps lit, steam lamp not lit), put a cup or jug under the frother and turn the steam knob a little way for a few seconds. This will cause hot water to squirt through the steam outlet, clearing any milk residue from the steam channel of the frother. This prevents the frother becoming clogged by dried milk residue.

Being fairly new to Espresso machines I researched reviews on Amazon and elsewhere, and decided on a Krups XP5280. Too bad, no review ever mentioned the fact that, and this was confirmed to me by Krups Customer Service, you need to wait at least 15 minutes between successive cups of espresso, even longer if you used the steam wand! If you don't wait this long the water is diverted to the drip tray instead of the filter holder. WHAT!! Before this was confirmed by Krups itself I could only think I had a defective unit. Upon hearing that this is "normal", I promptly returned it to the seller, of course at my own expense. I didn't like that the machine couldn't be used under cabinets that don't give you enough space to fully pull out the reservoir which needs to be pulled out upwards. But I did like the Krups automatic tamping, the set amount (programmable) amount of espresso delivered, and the puck ejector in the filter holder. I only wished someone had mentioned in a review the problem with needing to wait so long between successive cups using the Krups XP5280, it would have saved me the wasted time, and cost, to return it to the seller! If you only need to make one cup, or are willing to wait 15+ minutes between cups, then perhaps the Krups XP5280 is for you. It was not for me.

Best Deals for KRUPS XP5280 Pump Espresso Machine with KRUPS Precise Tamp

I purchased this machine at the recommendation of a knowledgeable salesperson at a local cooking store called Great News (Pacific Beach). I really liked the programmable feature, after returning a different model that did not have the preset for espresso pour duration. I also like the "precise tamp" feature as it saves a step and works well. I find that by using a Cuisinart Conical Burr grinder to freshly grind the beans(I use illy beans exclusively), and by following the directions for proper priming(1st use), cleaning, and operation the resulting espresso and latte drinks are excellent. It consistently turns out great tasting espresso with generous amounts of "crema", and steams milk well(I recommend getting an instant read thermometer for steamed milk which indicates proper heating temerature between 150 and 170 degrees mine is from a company called CDN). One minor issue is the steam nozzle. Mine did break after about 4 months one of the clips that hold the nozzle to the steam wand broke I called the company and they sent me a new one. Pluses when used properly this machine turns out great and repeatable results for both espresso and steamed milk. Minus Steam wand nozzle must be handled with care and cleaned often. By the way folks make sure you read the directions on how to disassemble and clean the nozzle if you don't it gets pretty disgusting inside.

Honest reviews on KRUPS XP5280 Pump Espresso Machine with KRUPS Precise Tamp

I've owned this expresso maker since July of 2011. I am on my 3rd nozzle. Since I can't find nozzles for sale on the internet anymore, I finally decided to call the Krups warranty hotline since everything is still under warranty. First they told me that the expresso maker is warrantied for 2 years instead of the 1 year in the manual. Then they notified me that the nozzle is being redesigned. They will send me the "older style" (that is, the one I have now) to hold me over until the new one comes out in Summer 2012. Then they put me on their mailing list to get the newly designed nozzle when it comes out. The hotline person was helpful and acknowledged that there was a design problem with the existing nozzle (in so many words), so I am glad Krups is not in denial of the facts. I like the expresso maker -especially the auto tamping feature and the pre-measured pulls. So if you already own one of these, don't despair. I recommend you call Krups and get your name on their list for the new nozzle.

5/3/12 Just received the newly redesigned nozzle from Krups. It is much heftier than the original. Still made of plastic but much, much thicker. The nozzle body is now a single piece with a stainless steel outer tube which simply presses onto the front of the nozzle; looks like it mostly for show. Gone are the 3 flimsy tabs which are prone to breakage. The new nozzle now locks onto the steam arm with a twist. Because the new nozzle attaches differently, you also have to replace the plastic base which screws onto the steam arm.

It is now 1 year since purchasing this machine. I just replaced the filter holder because of corrosion. The plastic handle started to crack and the button which locks the filter holder started sticking, preventing the holder from locking into place on the expresso maker. Now the button doesn't pop up like when it was new. Looks like pewter underneath the chrome plating. I make 2 cups, double shots, every day. It would be nice to have a stainless steel filter holder but you would have to buy an expresso machine which costs twice as much to get that. And as I examine other machines in this price range, they all seem to be made of the same materials. So I understand the shortcuts made to sell a machine at this price point. And I like the expresso it makes.

12/19/12 I have been through 2 of the newly designed nozzles. They both have cracked from the heat and eventually leak along the centerline of the tube. Lasted about 3 months. I called the Krups customer service center again and the person said she'd never hear of this before. However, she quickly said they would send me another replacement. I think I'll keep doing this until the 2-year warranty runs out.

I have owned this unit for 16 months. During that time I have gone through 7, count them 7 frothing wands. Three before the "new design" and 4 after. Had to wait over 2 months, for the new frothing wand, because they were out of stock at the factory. That tells me lots of people were having the same issues. Not spending one more penny on a new frothing wand. I am going to buy a "real" unit and once agsin relax with my morning latte. The customer service department acted like I was bothering them. GOODBYE KRUPS. NEVER AGAIN!

***Update (11/25/12)***

Bought my second wok since the first one (of almost four years) had endured the toughest conditions. The coating has started to peel and it is time to replace. Please keep in mind people, these non-stick coatings do NOT last forever and especially if you do a lot of cooking like me. This applies to ALL nonstick products no matter what the costs. If you want something where you wouldn't have to deal with the problem then maybe consider buying a pre-seasoned carbon wok, but then again they involved a different type of maintenance too like spreading oil to clean the wok after you cook instead of washing it. I like to wash my wok clean. This time, I will try to prolong it by using lower heat (instead of max) and go easy with the bamboo spatula.

Still made in the U.S.A., only the stamping on the bottom is a bit different, and thank goodness for the Amazon promo credit which made the deal much sweeter!

(original review)

Before this, I was extensively comparing to two others: The T fal Jumbo Wok along with the Circulon Elite Hard-Anodized Aluminum 14-Inch and I finally nailed it down to the Nordic Ware. One of the main reasons were because I wanted to replace a $ wok by 'Invitations' that I purchased not too long ago from Bed Bath & Beyond actually it was like $ after rebates and promotions, so no love lost here.

The comparisons...

T fal Jumbo Wok: I was ready to buy this wok from a major retailer. As I was going through the bunch, I could not find one that was like new, either there is a scuff here, a scratch there or a knick in between, and as I went through and finally came to one that was knick and scratch-free; the helper handle was deformed. So I said "screw it". Although this wok looked rather good, but it just didn't have the right feel to it, also, it was a bit on the light side and felt kind of flimsy not worth the price.

Circulon Elite: The same retailer did not carry the actual item but I was able to get an idea from one of their medium sized stir fry pans. The product feels heavy (which I like) but I wasn't too fond of the high-low food release design. I'm sure it was a feat of engineer but that didn't do it for me, non-stick is non-stick, it doesn't have to be any more complicated than it is. I'm more into the long-term and durability of its material that was put into it rather than the fancy grooves. I'm sure it works wonders, but for the addition to its marketing strategy; I wasn't sold.

The conclusion: I wanted a wok which was not only identical to the one I replaced but can perform and handle my day to day tasks. I stir-fry, steam, braise, fry, saute whatever, you name it! The Nordic Ware 14" wok has exceeded all the expectations, if not, more! It was tested in and by commercial kitchens and NSF certified so I can count on its rigorous strength. Upon the first day of using it (unlike the one I replaced and used with wooden utensils; the non stick coating stripped right off of its initial use), I stir-fried some vegetables with high heat from my electric counter top and was able to achieve some nice searings, food releases with a breeze and it has definitely passed the test of time! Before I toss the other wok out, I kept the removable handle and it fit my new wok like a glove. Now I know why the other cheap wok wanted to imitate the Nordic Ware 14" Asian Spun Wok, clearly, there is no comparison!

Pros:

*Great weight and balance

*Premium non-stick coating

*Perfect size and depth for tossing

*NSF certified and very high quality

*Made in USA

*20 Year warranty!!!

Cons:

*Grip handle is a bit thin, but can get used to (I replaced it with the old wok's rubber grip which is more thicker and fits perfectly)

*Removable rubber handle is some work when coincide with oven, the good thing is I don't really use it in the oven except for storing afterwards.

Im in college and just got my own apartment, when i was buying pans, i picked some out, showed them to my mother and asked her if they were any good. She went to the kitchen, grabbed one of her calphalon pans and said hold this, then made me return the ones i had bought.... Well it was then i learned that the good pans are the heavy ones.

And boy is this a heavy weight wok. It distributes heat very well. The surface is great, it washes easy too.

I have had this pan for a couple of years and use it often. Still looks and performs like brand new. No rust, no stick, good size for a family, and holds heat. My daughter was over for dinner and I brought it out and made stir fry and she wanted one. I jumped on amazon and went through about 20 pans and found it. It is well worth the price if you regularly stir fry...

Honest reviews on Nordic Ware 14-in. Asian Wok

This wok replaced an identical one we've had for about 10 years. My husband is the family chef and he loves its large size for making big batches of stir fry noodles, chinese vegetables. We like the fact that it's a non-stick wok and that it's heavy duty. great for family size dishes.

I bought this for its seemingly great value and have been using it for a couple of months.

First look: great materials, hefty. Two handles makes the wok much easier to handle.

The description is misleading, there is no "Polished stainless steel lids" included.

I really wanted to like it but it is simply not possible.

One major problem with the wok is that the bottom is NOT flat. It was already warped when I got it and it would "roll" around on my ceramic-glass stove top.

Everyone should know that any decent flat bottomed cookware should be completely flat and stay that way. However, the wok came warped(convex). It might be OK for those using gas stoves but I, myself, will never buy this again.

EDIT: Great customer service from Nordic Ware when my Wok started peeling.

The New one is better than the old one but it can be sturdier! 3 stars!

If you have those ugly water streaks in your toilet bowl, this is what you need. It requires very little elbow grease, does not damage the porcelain, and really does get rid of the stains and streaks. I highly recommend this product.

I bought this stuff based on a personal recommendation and all the positive reviews. I was not sorry. It really simplified cleaning the cooking surface grills of our propane gas BBQ grill unit which we let go a little too long. I simply first removed the heavy stuff that could easily come off with Scotch Brite Heavy Duty Scouring Pads 20 Count (or you can use something similar) and then a stick of this did the rest. I made the mistake of buying a Grill Cleaning Brick and trying to use it first. I am sure it can work too, but these little sticks are a lot easier.

The result was the grills on this thing came out looking almost like the day we bought it.

NOTE: You may be surprised that these are extremely porous and they get used up quickly. You will probably need a whole stick to clean the complete grill cooking surface. It's also kind of messy. You have to use water with it. But, it's a messy job to begin with.

I recently bought a pressure canner and a 4 quart Presto pressure cooker. I have been using the cooker so often that I decided to see if an older 6 quart pressure cooker I used to use that had some issues could be refurbished and put back into use in my kitchen.

A lot of the people who recently purchased the factory replacement kit from Amazon have complained about getting the wrong size gasket, and the vendor being unresponsive. I decided to purchase that product from another vendor, and get a non-factory replacement as well, so I would have a spare.

This gasket fits fine (as does the other one). The pressure vent is a different design from the original. Instead of having a round end at the bottom and top of the stainless steel rod that goes through the hole in the rubber plug, it has a crosspiece on one end. To look at it you would have to insert the plug upside down to make it seal, but it seems to work fine that way.

These are excellent potsthe nonstick surface is an improvement over regular old Teflon and they're heavy and spread the heat well. Gotta love the splendid red color, too!

I find these cook a bit slow, but that's a good thing; I haven't managed to overcook and mangle a single thing in these pots. The heat spreads well and stays consistent, I haven't had any "cold spot" problems. They're also a snap to clean, I like an OXO Nylon bristle dish scrubber. Nothing sticks and pots almost wash themselves.

I wish they made a 12 inch skillet; but this is a perfect starter set and easier to use than a lot of fancy pots are.

Very Highly Recomended!

About glass top stoves, etc, it just states do not slide your pots all over as to scratch, and NOT to cook an EMPTY POT on a hot glass top stove or the damage could happen, NOT with normal use!! You are never supposed to leave a hot empty pot cooking anyway!!

So, don't let that scare you from getting this great cookware!

Mostly I love this pan. I love how it looks, the see through lid, it cleans up easily and the depth of it means if you make gravy in it, you are in no danger of slopping over the sides while stirring vigorously.

However, What I didn't like at all is because it has two handles (rather than one long handle) which look so attractive and is one of the things about it that first caught my eye it takes both hands to pick it up and pour. Sometimes I like to keep the lid in place and use it to "strain" the solid food and be able to pour out any grease or liquids and with this skillet, you can't do that unless you have a second person to help you.

Yes, I could just get out a colander and strain that way but it's just one more dirty dish and after being married for over 20 years, I'm a bit tired of doing dishes and so avoid dirty-ing any extra if at all possible.

One good thing about the two handles is that if you have small children, they are safer in that they don't hang out where a child might be able to grab ahold but I don't have small children so this isn't really a benefit for me.

I'm going to keep the pan for now and will just use it for foods that I won't need to strain.

I don't mean to be overly critical but just thought this might be info that someone would find useful because it never occurred to me until after I'd used the pan a couple of times.

I have always used cuisinart everyday pans and i decided to buy 2 of these. These pans are the best frying pans i have ever owned.I have a ceramic top range,so i heat them up slow and have not had a problem with the color fusing to the stovetop.

Honest reviews on Paula Deen Signature Porcelain Nonstick 12-Inch Covered Chicken

Hey...this is a great skillet. I use it constantly. It is just the right size to cook for my 5 member family. Its just not for chicken. I make casseroles, fry meats and make gravy in it. It is very durable and great non stick surface.

I've used may chicken fryers over the years and this one rates as a good purchase. I would have rated it higher, but it doesn't conduct heat as well as others and that can and does cause uneven cooking! Still it is a good fryer for the price.

Love the collection, love this specific bowl. I really like the size and I literally use it for almost every dinner as a serving bowl. Great for serving pasta, rice, salad, marinaded meat, etc. I've had it for about 2 years now, it has yet to scratch or chip pretty durable.

I bought the whole set of Noritake Colorwave in chocolate, and I love, love, love the set! The outside is a dull finish, the inside has shine, and the two finishes complement each other perfectly. Food doesn't stick, yet the dishes aren't slippery to the touch. They're pretty to look at and sturdy as well. Everything arrived in perfect condition and in a timely fashion. I couldn't be happier.

Wedding gift. Solid bowl, simple and pretty. Neutral, perfect for the table and serving. Casual. It's not my tape of ware. I don't like heavy stone/ceramicware.

Goes great with my Epoch Panama dishes. Great quality and good color for coordination with my everyday dishes. This bowl is the perfect size and the sides are high.

Well most reviews are just about features, not about what the products are intended to be used for once purchased, so I figured I'd take a different approach and maybe it would help someone who may be deciding to buy this slicer. When I was reading the many reviews on the multitude of slicers on Amazon I was confused as to why even slicers over $200.00 had buyers who were not satisfied. I was looking for a slicer to cut pork roll which is a fav at work and I get a roll about 6lbs and 5 inches in diameter and maybe a foot and a half long. You can't cut it by hand without getting fat and skinny edges on the same slice. This slicer however performed very well for the money. Most reviews I read said hard to clean, not enough power, sucks on cheese. Well, maybe cheese is too sticky when you cut it and pulls on the blade causing it to drag and slowing the motor down. maybe you need a commercial slicer for 300.00 or more or go sloooooooooooooooooower. I had not one bit of problem cutting, cleaning, or using this slicer to get the job done. I don't take it apart to clean, I wipe it down with soap and water after each use. Blade is still sharp as the day I bought it.i guess what I'm saying is that expectations seem to be too high for some people who purchase a slicer for under a hundred dollars. This thing is great for meats i will say. The motor seems very safe by slowing down the speed to keep your thumbs attached to your hand. i think it would be just about impossible to cut your self. I wipe the blade when it is running, with a dishcloth, and never even came close to having a scare. I imagine someone will prove me wrong and do it. We will call him lefty. Ha Ha. Well, to finish my review I will just say this is a great slicer for the price and I use it every week. If you are easily disappointed and think you should get everything when you paid next to nothing, then you probably won't be happy with whatever slicer you end up buying. Everyone else, stimulate your surplus by spending less for this quality slicer.

I'm pleased with my slicer. It works for me. I have had a slicer, slowly disintegrating, for the past 30 years, so I knew I would use it and wanted one that would last. The Continental is sturdily built, for the most part, and I expect to be able to repair age or damage myself. The movable fence that alligns the meat with the blade is held in place with a single metric phillips-head machine screw. It had gotten a bit chewed up during manufacture, so I replaced it from my convenient neighborhood hardware store. The blade is not serrated, so I will be able to sharpen it with a stone, when the day comes. Removal of significant parts for cleaning is simple, though I need a screwdriver, and in time, may need a pair of pliers. The parts clean easily enough, but I fear I will lose a couple of plastic washers eventually. Cleaning the bulk of the machine, after the removable parts have been cleaned, is awkward, but managable. The machine doesn't break down for storage, so it takes up a big chunk of my cupboard space, but by the same token it sets up fast when it's time to slice. All in all, I expect to be happy with my decision. Ask me again in fifteen years.

Excellent product for the price.

Instruction booklet/manual not very clear or too helpful.

Nearly broke the blade retaining screw trying to remove the blade after the first use that's why the 4-stars and not 5 need to remove screw by turning it clockwise.

Slices very thin perfectly did some cheddar cheese, smoked ham, and roast beef with no problems.

Used machine constantly for 30 minutes first time and no "burnouts" or burning smell from motor. Cleanup is easy once you remember to unscrew clockwise!

Definitely for home use, not an industrial strength machine but well fabricated and built.

Honest reviews on Continental PS77711 Professional Series Deli Slicer

When I read "steel body and blade" for under 90 dollars shipping included, I thought what a wonderful deal. Well, I found quite a bit of plastic on this machine but that has not stopped it from cutting meats, breads and cheeses fairly consistently and easily. The size adjuster does not move much between slices and the blade loses very little power on dense foods. The unit has no blemishes in the finish and the whole thing is a breeze to clean. Just a fine little machine for home use.

I purchased this slicer in April 2009. It worked fine for 6 months and then the plastic gears that turn the blade completely broke. They are plastic. I then contacted the seller who in turn said I needed to contact the manufacturer. I have been in contact with the manufacturer since November 2009 and still have been able to receive a replacement slicer. They keep telling me to wait that the product is coming in on a container ship. This is a neverending battle. I will never buy another product from CEM Global again.

Universal Housewares Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron 6 1/2 Inch Skillet Review

Universal Housewares Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron 6 1/2 Inch Skillet

Unfortunately this item was returned due to the poor workmanship. I debated whether to keep it or not since it is only around $10 with free shipping piggybacked with another item I ordered, but the flaws were just too obvious to ignore, and I know I will not feel good about using it. There were many sharp unfinished edges from the casting and a few rusty patches on the cooking surfaces as well. The posted picture with this item does not seem to adequately show its true design and dimensions. On the top of the list, the handle is also annoyingly too short, making it really awkward to use. A better made and designed version is available CostPlus for 5.99 at their retail store.

I was hoping for a pan in which I could make an over-easy egg for breakfast but the bottom of the pan is so rough that when you remove the egg, there are small black pieces on the egg. I didn't want to get my iron for the day by eating fragments from a cast iron pan. I have seasoned the pan over and over and nothing changes.

When I ordered this product I didn't realize how small this is. I can only scramble about one egg on it. However, for the price you can't beat a real cast iron pan. I use this almost daily and so far there is no sign of any wear and tear on it.

Honest reviews on Universal Housewares Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron 6 1/2 Inch Skillet

This is a pretty basic cast iron pan. Nothing special but it's what you'd expect in a no frills cast iron pan. It does the job.
