Poor product Poor customer service Would not buy again for half the price

Warning: First time reviewer here, but I use the reviews of products exclusively on whether or not to purchase products on amazon.com. I do not want any other users to go through the same poor customer service I did only to gain nothing.

I have purchased a set of Berghoff Scala Ceramic coated frying pans. I used the main 12" pan for about a month. As time progresses the pan started to stick. I contacted the customer service dept. that told me to deep clean the pan with baking soda and water. After it was dry add oil to the pan while slowly reheating it. I did this several times to cure my pan as suggested by the customer service rep. He assured me that it would take some time for this to work. This took place over 4 months after purchasing the set. I then got preoccupied when moving into my renovated kitchen. After dealing with my renovation I found the pan again. It was now 12 months since purchase. I had a new representative that made it sound like the guy I was speaking to previously did a poor job and was let go, which he was very rude. She stated they needed to find my files and reopen the review of my pan. She advised me to send the pan in so the warranty dept. could look at the pan. I had to pay shipping both ways but I figured they would at least get my pan back into good condition. Berghoff never called or emailed that they had my pan even though I sent a letter with the pan. After waiting a month I decided to email and see if they received the pan. The last customer service rep I had was now gone and I had a new one again. She had to find the pan again and pull up the files. After a reply from the newest customer service rep she stated that my pan was not covered under warranty. WHAT?

She explained that due to the color of the bottom of the pan I had overheated the pan and that the warranty was now void. I the dirt she cleaned on the bottom of my pan was on all our pans we had. We have a glass top range that we cool all our meals on. It does get dirty at times. I simply took a nylon scrubber to clean one of the other pans I had just to see how hard it was. I emailed back stating that her suggestion was not the case and that I wanted to speak to a supervisor. Three weeks later still no response. I called and was directed to the same person I was dealing with my emails. She said she brought the pan to her supervisor and stated that she agreed while refusing to allow me to speak to her supervisor.

The facts: Not once did I ever cook with the pan over ½ heat on my range top. I primarily cooked eggs, sausage, warmed up veggies, and cooked some fish. Mind you that I only used the pan 1 month. I hand washed it after every use. At first everything would slide out of the pan. The pan got to the point where I had to scrape it each time after use and then let it sit in soap water. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AFTER 1 MONTH OF USE!

Due to the numerous customer service representatives, poor service, and average pans I would never recommend anyone buy from this company. They did offer me a deal though, 50% off their retail of a new pan. That was almost the same price I could buy it off of amazon.com.

Buyer Beware Stay Away Learn from my mistakes.

Pros: nontoxic ceramic coating for healthy cooking. A true non-stick surface: the food does not burn, but cooks rather evenly. Cleaning also is a breeze, no scrubbing required!

Cons: Not dishwasher safe! However as I mentioned before the food does not stick to the surfaces and comes off easily .

Excellent quality for the money, I highly recommend it!

I enthusiastically bought this set of BergHOFF EarthChef pans that did not use the usual non-stick chemicals.

After three or four uses, the pans were no longer non-stick. I called BergHOFF and went through

reconditioning the pans, sending in photos, etc. to find that the company does not back its product

and would not honor the one year guarantee good luck frying with these pans if you cannot turn the

flame beyond simmer. I love the idea of a healthy non-stick pan, but this is not it.

Honest reviews on BergHOFF Earthchef Acadian 10-Piece Cookware Set

We have had these over a year and the saucepans are still nearly flawless. Nice knowing we are getting no chemicals in our food. Unfortunately our daughter used cooking spray on the skillet and it was worthless after that. We have other ceramic skillets that are so so due to staining. Highly recommend ceramic saucepans.

I'm very happy with the quality of these, I can't comment on durability as I just got them but I'll be sure to update the review if anything changes. Everything looks very solid and the design (lid and handles) are VERY similar to all clad and high quality.

This product may say its made in Italy but the stickers on it say made in China. Boo. When I contacted them for answers i had to leave a message and of course, never got a call back. Aside from that, the coatoings on the pots and pans were rippled and chipped. One of the pots was mishapened i'm assuming during shipping. Just poor quality and dishonesty all around. Sending them back asap.

DON'T BUY!!!! After much searching I purchased a complete 10 piece set at bed and bath. Well about 6 months later the white ceramic coating is USELESS ! I followed their breakin instructions and cooking instructions to the letter !! Everything sticks!!! I completely coat and almost float whatever, fish, chicken, or beef in olive oil and everything still stick to the pans!!!!!! I am an avid cook BUT even cheap pans Teflon pans bought from walmart last longer!!!! I emailed Tramontina and the women replied after 3 days and sent me the warrantee : "Our warranty is for Manufactures Defects only and does not cover normal wear and tear, overheating issues, warping or scratches in the coating. The warranty can include the coating, but only in the event that dust or debris had fallen on the pan before the coating was sprayed on. This would reflect in small bubbles that would pop and burst, causing the bottom of your pan to be very rough but retain its original coloring. This symptom can also be found if a pan has been overheated but the coating will be discolored a brown or black." Plus I would have to pay to ship the pans to them for review!!! She was upset that I CALLED THE WARRANTEE USELESS. Well the way I read it " They DO NOT COVER Normal wear and tear" !!!!!! SO the moral of my story DO NOT BUY TRAMONTINA WHITE CERAMIC COOKWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did a lot of research before choosing this set. I had a large collection of non-stick pots and pans that were still in good condition but after learning about the dangers of cooking on Teflon and heavy cast aluminum (I have vintage sets of The Club and Guardian Service cookware), I decided on this set. I also have a set of Royal Prestige Stainless Steel cookware that I have had for over 20 years, it is still in excellent condition but I wanted something that was not so heavy but easy to use and non-stick.

Never in my life had I cooked on ceramic cookware and I must say that I don't think I will use anything else but this type cookware, the end results of any dish are simply amazing! You don't have to use high heat and in fact the manufacturer advises against it due to the possibility of damage to the cookware. They are absolutely correct, you will not need to use high heat. Everything cooks wonderfully!

When I received the box, I did get a pan that was crooked (the 10-inch), the seller immediately shipped another one to me and although it is the one pan that does not have a lid that fits, thus the 4-star review instead of 5, I like it a lot! I've used every single piece in this collection and I cannot say enough good things about it. It is true that you need no oil whatsoever to cook with. I wish that the dutch oven were 6-quarts instead of 5 but I can work with that. The price is excellent for a good-quality set like this. I thought I would get a cheap product that I would have to end up sending back but I took a chance and I'm so very glad I did!

Highly recommended and if I had the space, I would order a second set to have on hand. Thank you, Chef's Catalog, for a wonderful product. The pans are made in Italy but the lids are made in China. One more thing, do not use metal utensils to cook on these or they will get scratched. Use wood, plastic or bamboo. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this set!

Got this set for christmas and thought they would be ok. They are great, clean, than oil and heat on low heat to season the pans. Nothing sticks. easy to clean. love them.

These silicone spatulas are the highly recommended ones from a leading cooking magazine. So I purchased all these Rubbermaid professional heat resistant spatulas and spoonulas (9 ½", 13 ½" and 16 ½" in length). I use the spatulas primarily for folding ingredients in a mixing bowl. I prefer to use the spoonulas for scraping a bowl when I want to scrape out every last bit of cooking goodness (the edges of the spoonulas are thinner and the cupping of the spoonulas both help to scrape bowls, pans, and pots clean). The Rubbermaid professional plastic handles are more comfortable to use than the wood handles on my heat resistant spatulas and spoonulas. Also, the silicone heads of my wood handle ones are stiffer than the Rubbermaid professional ones. I think that little bit of flex in the Rubbermaid Professional silicone heads helps me scrape cleaner.

I have yet to use the little notch on these spatulas for scraping under the opening of jars (I think they were intended for use on the commercial kitchen size jars) since the spatulas are 2 ¼" wide for the 9 ½" to 2 ¾" wide for the 13 ½" and 16 ½" long tools. The handle ends have small prongs that look like they are to help keep the entire spatula or spoonulas from sliding into a work bowl.

I have some older Rubbermaid ones and they are definitely not stain resistant: the paprika has permanently stained one of the mixing spatulas. I was able to remove the paprika stain from the Rubbermaid professional spatula using dishwashing liquid and a nylon Scotchbright like pad. Also, my older Rubbermaid heat resistant spoonula developed a split at the tip and has warped a bit.

I just realized that one of the reasons why I don't like my similar sized 13 ½" sized silicone spatulas and spoonulas with wood handles: the working end is heavy so the tool is not as balanced as these Rubbermaid Professionals.

For most home kitchens, I'd recommend buying the 9 ½' and 13 ½" size spatulas and spoonulas. There is a 16 ½" size that is very long and the silicone head is the exact same size as the 13 ½: (14" actual) size (4" X 2 ¾").

PROS: The silicone heads have just the right amount of flex to scrape cleaner than similar sized scrapers and spoonulas. The handles are more comfortable and sized well.

CONS: A bit expensive but you a get a tool likely to last.

I usually follow and agree with almost everything America's Test Kitchen rates highly or #1. I am not a professional cook, but this spatula is a little stiff for my liking. I do like the large surface area of the blade, it makes turning and folding larger quantities easier which allows you to disturb delicate batters as little as possible.....such as when the recipe calls for mixing until just combined. I am finding myself using my existing slightly more flexible tipped spatulas more on other recipes. Additionally, as I believe ATK says in their reviews, Rubbermaid could have made the handle a lot more comfortable. The handle is too thin, too hard and not very ergonomic by today's stanards. Overall I gave it a 4 star rating, but as a backup and for a specific designated purpose only.

This spatula is just what I needed to use with my Kitchen Aid mixing bowl. With its long handle I can reach to the bottom of the bowl and the large flexible head does a great job of cleaning off the sides of the bowl. So far it has not stained and has withstood the heat of a hot skillet---plus kept my hand away from the heat.

Honest reviews on Rubbermaid High-Heat Scraper

Although rated very highly by Cooks Magazine, which I love, I find this to be way too stiff and I am not able to scrap bowls of batter, etc. It is good for using while heating on the stove for items that need constant mixing. It has not stained or cracked in the 6months I have used it.

This pressure cooker is probably the best on the market and a perfect size for a family. But, watch what you are purchasing, there are 2 separate types of lids on the Duromatic pressure cooker. This is the superior lid as it is easier to see the pressure, and turn it down to appropriate settings-fast release, slow release, with minimal effort. The other Kuhn Rikon's are awesome too. As far as I can tell, they are the same, with the exception of the lid/release. If you have the extra money, this is worth it--especially if you are a beginner. I regret that I bought the duromatic set without realizing the difference in the lids. I guess on the bright side, it means that I have pressure cookers in different sizes now.

If you are nervous about pressure cooking, there are awesome books out there to help lead the way-including pressuring cooking for dummies. My favorite is Miss Vickies Book of Pressure Cooker recipes, also found on amazon. She also has a website that offers a lot of free information as well as free recipes (although some have a small charge).

So, cook your food faster, save energy, retain more nutrients, and serve delicious homemade meals that seem like you have spent all day in the kitchen.

My wife recently mentioned that most people have pressure cookers. I don't know about that... but, now that we bought this Kuhn Rikon 7.4 quart pot, I have to say that I am very impressed and I feel I've been strangely uninformed all these years about the capabilities of a pressure cooker.

I've organized my thoughts into two categories: pressure cooking in general, and this Kuhn Rikon product specifically.

Regarding the magic of pressure cooking, we've tried a variety of items, including mashed potatoes, ribs and one-pot meals. They turned out very well. They were quick. They were simple. The pot cleaned up easily. The flavors seemed to be more "sophisticated" than I've typically produced on the stove. The flavors were all blended together as if they'd been simmering for hours. All in a matter of minutes. Pressure cooking authors Lorna Sass and Vickie Smith each offer pretty good cookbooks with plenty of good advice and recipes to newbies like myself.

One thing I would point out... I was skeptical about cooking something in a mere 4 or 6 or 8 or 10 minutes. And in a way, I was right. The cooking times associated with pressure cooking refer to the time once pressure has been reached. For me, on our gas stovetop at fairly high heat (I never use the highest setting), it takes about 10 minutes plus to get "pressurized". Then, after the cooking time has elapsed, you have to take the time for the pot to depressurize. This pressure reduction can take just a few minutes to about fifteen, depending on the method used. So, it is true you can throw a bunch of ingredients into a pot, close the lid and be completely done in a half hour, but I wouldn't tell anyone that dinner will be ready in eight minutes as you secure the lid and turn up the burner!

Now, my thoughts on the Kuhn Rikon 7.4 qt cooker... At first, before I understood the product, there were two things that bothered me. I have resolved both issues without having to contact Kuhn Rikon customer service. First, on the cosmetic side, the brand label was all bumpy and wavy. I thought something this expensive should be perfect and I couldn't bring myself to accept that the label wasn't applied with care. It turns out that the problem was with a plastic, transparent, static cling protector over the label. Once I figured this out and removed what amounts to packaging, the label was beautiful.

Secondly, when I tested the product with a few cups of water, I couldn't get the cooker to come to pressure until I tinkered with the pressure gauge. After 29 minutes of heating, the pot just sat there with steam released from the lid. After spending time reviewing the owner's manual, I decided to dissemble the pressure valve and reassemble it. That's when I noticed that the valve's screw (which allows you to dissemble and clean food out of the valve) was loose. I tightened this screw, the cooker works flawlessly, and I now know how to easily clean the valve if I should ever have to.

Beyond my first two "newby" problems, I have to say that this product is very simple to use. A clear gauge tells you when you reach either a middle pressure or high pressure, the lid is secured and removed easily, the parts are easy to clean and probably because of quality design and materials, I haven't had any scalding/burnt food issues. The relief valve apparatus works well, allowing you to simply turn the top knob and it depressurizes on its own without any heat on hand or arm. No holding under tap water in the sink. It appears to be built for many years of use and claims that Kuhn Rikon is the jewel of pressure cookers just might be true.

I wondered about what size would be best. I am glad I have this size. It isn't unreasonably large. It is tall enough that no food has reached anywhere near the top. Just steam. So... cleaning is easy, and I am very sensitive to difficult cleaning chores after preparing a meal.

Overall, I have to say that I wish I had had this years ago. I think it will revolutionize cooking in our home. I always thought the microwave was the best tool to increase speed over conventional cooking, but pressure cooking seems to produce better results. I highly recommend this product, it is well worth the seemingly high price.

Best Deals for Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Family Style Pressure Cooker Braiser

I grew up watching my mother use a pressure cooker with a balancing weight on the lid and constantly terrified that it was going to explode.

It has taken me 20 years to get over that fear and after doing a lot of research, I finally bought a Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Pressure Cooker. As a working mother with two young children, I have NO IDEA how anyone survives without a pressure cooker. I use mine almost every day. Unlike a slow cooker, I'm not worried about whether my house is burning down because I left the slow cooker .... cooking.

I started with spareribs, which after 15 minutes tasted like they had been braised for 3 hours. Then I moved on to risotto, which after 6 minutes is delicious, creamy, and tastes like I slaved over the stove stirring it constantly for an hour. I have also made soups, which are quick and easy.

The pot is easy to use, easy to clean, and safe. Rather than wasting gas/electricity simmering a dish for hours, it's finished in literally a fraction of the time. And it doesn't sound like an airplane's landing in your kitchen.

This is by far the wisest kitchen appliance purchase I have ever made.

Honest reviews on Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Family Style Pressure Cooker Braiser

I use this pot at least once a week, particularly for risottos (try a butternut squash version!) and tougher cuts of meat, which cook to fork-tenderness in a trice. It's also fantastic for cooking dry beans (try the heirloom beans from Rancho Gordo) -no need to soak overnight.

You have to keep an eye on the pressure indicator, but over time you learn how to adjust the burner to maintain high (but not too high) pressure for the recipe time. You can't really walk away from the kitchen, but then the cooking times are pretty brief.

Lorna Sass' cookbooks -Cooking under Pressure and Pressure Perfect: Two Hour Taste in Twenty Minutes Using Your Pressure Cooker -are invaluable. I haven't had a bum recipe yet.

I also have a smaller Fagor model, but I prefer the larger size as well as the simpler Kuhn-Rikon controls. For lots of dishes, you're not supposed to fill the cooker more than halfway, so anything smaller than four quarts is often too small, and the bigger size can handle everything.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Family Style Pressure Cooker Braiser

Although I love this pressure cooker, I wish I had purchased a larger size. That is entirely my fault. Clearly I'm not going to make a huge soup in a 3.7 quart pot. Potential buyers should think about what it is that they expect to cook and how much, and then select an appropriate size. 3.7 quarts sounded big enough to me, but remember that the pressure cooker can only be filled half way for pressure cooking soups, grains, beans, and foods that expand, or 2/3 full for other foods.

The pressure cooker comes with a recipe book, however all the recipes are for size 4 quart or larger pressure cookers (except the frying pan recipes).

The instruction manual says it is NOT suitable for apple compote, cranberries, porridge (oat flakes), barley, peas, pasta, macaroni, rhubarb, or some cereals because those foods tend to foam and froth and could block the valve.

Otherwise, this pressure cooker is great! I have no problems with it. It works wonderfully. I will happily use it to make my dried beans, brown rice, and veggies.

Someday I may even buy a bigger one :)

I have been looking for a Glass Pot Alert for years. My Mother bought me one in England when I got married many, many years ago, which got lost over the years. I used to look in all the kitchen stores and nobody knew what I meant, I think some thought I was daft. These little glass disc's are invaluable when heating milk,as when the milk starts to boil they rattle and prevent it boiling over, enough that you can get to the pot before it does so. The product arrived in excellent condition, within the stated delivery time, and I would have no hesitation in dealing with this company again, or recommending Superior Kitchen Gadgets to anyone. Thank you, Anita Greaves

I had another Boil Alert for years before it broke. The beginning of the boil caused a more definitive rocking of the alert so that a 5 minute egg was always a five minute egg. This one is not as reliable. It is more difficult using it to know when to set the timer. The disk has the same "label," but I suspect the manufacturer is no longer the same according to the packaging. But, it still beats watching the water.

Honest reviews on Fox Run Boil Alert

I had one of these for years but it got broken.

Shortly after hearing boiling water hit the flame, my wife suggested I look for another.

We got 2 more.

These are perfect for bringing water to a boil. They start rattling before the pot boils over so you can go about other kitchen duties without having to watch water boil.

As simple as they are, they are a fantastic kitchen gadget.

This item is really light weight and the rack cant dent easily. It was not packaged well at all on first shipment and arrived very bent in several places. After contacting the shipper, we were mailed another one--but that took 3 weeks. The size is perfect for smaller kitchens and it looks great now that it is installed. Another tip: do NOT hang it like it is in the picture. Handing both chains on one eye bolt is a disaster. Use both eye hooks and hang one chain for each. Otherwise it is completely unstable.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

This rack is relatively inexpensive, but even so not worth the price. A few months back I saw a VERY similar one at Aldi for $24.99 which would be FAIR price. THINK OF THIS PRODUCT AS "POT RACK LITE"!

The frame is constructed of VERY thin sheet metal, the grid and supporting chain from very small diameter rod and link.

In fairness, it's well made in terms of welding and painting... it looks decent enough. But again, it's strictly LIGHT DUTY. If you have mostly ALUMINUM cookware, fine and dandy. But don't plan on hanging your cast iron skillets or clad pans, or storing your heavy dutch ovens on top.

Finally, the single-point suspension system is a cost saving design that isn't STABLE enough for this kind of application. If installed as instructed, it will be prone to "spin" and "sway" when removing or hanging a pan; you'll be tempted to use one hand for the pan and the other to steady the rack. Any rectangular hanging rack should be suspended from at least TWO points (all four corners is even better.) Again in fairness, there IS enough chain to suspend it from all four corners.

I kept the rack rather than returning it; I actually found a use for it in my garage!

Again, it's not a bad product, but it's strictly light duty and in my opinion NOT worth its current price ($38 bucks at the time I purchased it. At $24.99 to $29.99, it would be a good VALUE.)

Best Deals for Fox Run Square Pot Rack with Chrome Chains and Hooks, Black

Very thin metal and pint looked as if put in box too soon. Be sure to hang from 4 points not one like shown in picture

Honest reviews on Fox Run Square Pot Rack with Chrome Chains and Hooks, Black

We just moved into a house that has one-third the square footage of our last one. We have somewhere between 20-30 pots and pans and no cabinet space for them, so this was a great idea for maximizing vertical space. We did not have hundreds of dollars to invest in a rack, so this was in just the right price range.

To get the most out of this product, here's what you need:

1. Four hooks rated to about 25 pounds each

2. Four anchors/toggles that can go into the ceiling and that are the right size for your hooks to screw into

Screw holes for the anchors, place them in the ceiling, screw the hooks into them. You want to have each corner supported separately by its own hook, because if you only do one or two hooks, when you remove one pan, everything else on the rack will slide around with the shift in gravity. This rack is a nice choice because it has a center grid, so you can stack pots in the middle as well as hanging them around the sides. Although the construction is lightweight, the joints are soldered, so it is strong. I took away one star because I had to supply additional hardware, there were no instructions, and the construction could be better to last longer. I've only had it for three months, but so far it has held up really well, in spite of lots of use and abuse.

Overall, for the price, can't be beat!

Honest reviews on Rivierra Embroidered Design Tablecloths

I was excited to receive this tablecloth based on the rave reviews. However, the picture did not show the embroidery in much detail. I was expecting fine detailed embroidery, but instead there are very large stitches that look rather clunky. Sad to say, I sent it back and now will look for something I can see in person before buying.

This is a lovely tablecloth, but not as nice as I had imagined. It really was a good piece for the price.

Zwilling TruClad Stainless Steel 10 inch Nonstick Fry Pan Reviews

I bought this pan to add a size I needed. I did tons of research online and I was excited to find a promising non-stick pan that used ceramic instead of the other stuff that flakes off.

I loved it when I first got it. I used it 3-5 times a week for just about everything. I always use a bit of oil with my cooking and use the proper oil for the proper type of cooking (high, medium and low heat). After about 8 months, I didn't change what or how I cooked but things started to stick. Clean up was still a breeze. About a year into using it less and less because everything stuck, it lost it's non-stick completely. Even clean up was hard.

Then came the egg incident. I was making eggs for my small sons. I got distracted and they cooked just a little too long and browned. They completely stuck. I had to use a rough dish cloth (no scouring pad) and scrub and scrub to clean it off. When I was done, there were spots all over the pan where the ceramic coating had come up.

I contacted the company and let them know. Their response wasn't a surprise but I'm still disappointed. They told me I could send it to them at my expense. They would examine it and decide if it was a manufacturers defect or not. If it was, they would send me a replacement pan but couldn't promise it would be the pan I bought. If it wasn't, they would do nothing. The whole process would take 4-6 weeks once they received the pan.

I bought full price of about $130 including taxes. My other high-end non-stick pans are going strong after 12 years. I'll just keep buying those.

Pleasantly surprised with how heavy duty these are. Actually prefer these to the far more expensive All-clad pans we are gradually replacing.

It takes a bit longer to heat up the pan comparing with Scanpan CTX ceramic-titanium. It is not non-stick as I asssumed. It is just easy clean.

I wanted a new canning pot to replace the steal enamel pot my grandma bought in the 1960's. The old pot was a little bigger which was to big and didn't have an insert so removing jars were always a little scary. Also I got the new induction stove and love how it works on my stove.

Great quality pot. I love it! Good looking, heavy, definitely recommend it. Although I purchased the wrong size, I am not returning it as It it too good of a piece! It will be perfect to cook corn on the cob.

First, the pan is smaller than I had anticipated. The actual inside dimensions at the bottom of the pan are about 8 3/4" x 13 1/4".

Other than that, I'm satisfied with it. It's attractive, functional, easy-to-clean, has no sharp edges, and is heavy-duty enough for the average home kitchen.

This roasting pan is not as heavy as the really expensive stainless steel roasting pans, but it works well, heats evenly, and cleans easily. I've been pleased with the results.

The pan is just awful. I bought it for a second home and would have returned it were it not for the fact that it would have been just about impossible for me to get that done during the day that I was there. I have purchased foil-based, one-time use pans at the grocery store that felt nicer. Really. I've been looking for another Revere 13x9 stainless steel pan that would last for years like the one I have at home. The pan is lightweight, the edges are folded over (again giving rise to that grocery-store foil pan feel. If I could have given less than one star I would have.

Honest reviews on Fox Run Stainless Steel Roasting Pan, 10 Inch x 14.5 Inch

On arrival, I thought the pan looked and felt a bit flimsy. For the price I paid (less than 20), it was worth trying it out, so I decided to keep it. It's far exceeds my expectations. Yes, lightweight and thin, but a true positive addition to my cookware. Handles high heat, just the right amount of room for small to large roasting/baking, sides are the perfect height, and fits easily in sink for clean-up. Recommendations: 1. very, very lightly coat pan with oil before putting in food 2.do not put in water before it cools 3.soaking for an hour will remove just about anything 'stuck' to it, including burned bits and sticky foods. 4. never use overly abraisive products to scrub it; it doesn't need it and you will scratch the pan. Just a light buff with a brillo pad or plastic scrubby for the top rim will remove the splatter marks.

Every time I use it, I'm amazed at how well it does, and how easy it is to clean. I could have easily spent three times as much for a pan that size thinking it had to be some bulky, heavy, made to last forever type of pan, but I'm glad I took a chance on this one. Worth every penny and more.

Very nice stainless steel pan. It is a thin pan, but seems to cook really well and I think the thin design helps with heat transference. Food browns very nice in the pan without getting overly brown on the bottom.

I've used the pan for everything from scalloped potatoes to cornbread.

Easy to clean with a sponge that has a "soft scratchy side". If something really sticks which it doesn't usually, just use a little bit of barkeepers friend. The pan is really shiny and I think overall I'm going to get many years of good cooking use with it.

I recently purchased this at a gourmet grocery store in their culinary arts section. I contacted the maker (Souk Ceramique) and received an email right away. They told me that it does not have a hole because it is a hand-thrown clay piece. The manufactured ones need holes because their tops sit on their bases tightly and the hole is necessary for steam to vent. In a hand-thrown tagine, the steam can vent around the base. Also, to season it soak it overnight in water. Then allow it to dry, coat the inside with olive oil, and put in a cold oven. Heat the oven to 350 degrees and allow the tagine to heat with it and then leave it for an hour and a half to two hours in there. Don't put it in cold water while it is hot. Let it cool down on its own. If it isn't used often, it should be re-seasoned every few months. I've read variations on the seasoning, but that is the best that I can find for now (some said soak it for one hour in water other sites said 4 hours). I was impressed by the prompt and helpful reply from customer service, and I like the product. The company truly tries to keep the old world alive through its authentic tagines.

This is a light weight tajine that cooks food perfectly. I use mine several times a week. Easy clean up and looks great on the kitchen counter.

This is a gorgeous product and one I was very happy to receive.

Unfortunately the base cracked the very first time I used it, even though I seasoned and used it according to the instructions.

The instructions say a diffuser is "recommended" for stovetop use. I think this should be upgraded to "required" and a diffuser sold with the tagine.

At the very least the manufacturer should mention a diffuser as a strongly recommended accessory in the description of this product here on the website. I would certainly have purchased and used one if only I had known.

Honest reviews on Le Souk Ceramique Cookable Tagine

From start to finish, this has been a great experience. Although weather influenced shipping, LeSouk , the shipper, kept me informed. To make up for the delay, they included an extra product free of charge. The tagine I ordered is wonderful. Follow the care directions, and you should have succulent treats. Word of caution. Because it is made of clay, do not put directly on heat. I used a cast iron fry pan upside down to diffuse heat and to eliminate hair line cracks. The tagine is decorative and a bit exotic looking. All in all a welcome addition to my kitchen.

I purchased my tagine a few months ago and wasnt sure I made the right choice after reading more about temperatures and diffusers. But I persevered, bought a copper diffuser as I was determined to prepare a moroccan meal. I love lamb. I found the spanish saffron in local grocery stores and took out the cookbook. By now I had to re-season the tagine, soaking and oiling the inside. I combined a few recipes from the little book that was recommended. I seasoned and browned the meat first. I put a little oil in the tagine with onion and garlic, a pinch of the saffon and just enough water to cover the meat. Medium for an hr and half. Then some zucchini and red bell pepper for about another 45 min. Topped with roasted shelled pistachio nuts and pitted kalamata olives. OMG. The sweat delicate aroma of the saffronamazing. The meat was like budder. Now to find Moroccan wine on long Island. I bought the 9x9in diffuser.

Best Zyliss Angled Turner Deals

Zyliss Angled Turner
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars

I bought this turner for my husband who wanted a thin and flexible turner since he makes crepes every weekend. He absolutely loves it! But, after a year of use, the edge was wearing down from the heat. After reading some reviews here on Amazon, I contacted the Zyliss representative in the US and was so amazed by the prompt customer service I received! Not only did they replace the item immediately, they included another product for us to try a slotted turner with a heat-resistant silicone edge Zyliss Silicone Slotted Turner. We haven't used it very long, but it works great as well. Considering the item was only $5 or $6 when I bought it I was impressed by how seriously they took my complaint. I will definitely buy their products again!

If you want a turner for crepes, either of these Zyliss products is great. And you can't argue with a 5 year warranty (on a $6 item). Customer service is impressive!

I like the Idea of this kind of turner. I really like the steel ones but since I have non-stick pans I had to stay with plastic. I normally like Zyliss but lately they've been coming out with duds or not well thought out items. The main complaint about this is the kick up at the tip of the turner. I guess it is made so you can get under things at an tight angle because the side of the pan might get in the way. The problem is is that your food doesn't want to slide easily under the turner and if you have delicate foods like eggs you tend to rip them. The non-delicate foods tend to resist getting on the turner and slides across the pan. It also warps easily.

This is the second disappointment I've had with Zyliss in the past 6 months. The first one was the food temperature probe. I'm thinking twice about buying the next Zyliss item.

I bought this item as a gift. I would not recommend this item for any type of cooking. The first time it was used, it melted on the end. Made a mess of the turner, pan and meal. Very disappointed.

Honest reviews on Zyliss Angled Turner

Very Very disappointed in this Zyliss product (Angled Turner) as it was supposed to be heat resistant to 500 deg and it definitely was not. Therefore, I would give the item in question NO STARS and would not recommend it to anyone. I will be contacting Zyliss to see what my next course of action is!

Tip is very weak, if you only use it to make silver dollar size pancakes it might work. It was about as ridiculous as requiring a set number of words for thiis review!!!!!!
