Buy Edgeware Standard Sharpening Steel

Edgeware Standard Sharpening Steel
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

This doesn't actually take metal off your knife or scratch the metal, so I use it on my pretty and expensive knifes. It will straighten out the edge, much like a leather strop would only more aggressively.

My problem with diamond steels is that while they work well, they will actually remove metal and scratch up the edge of the knife. I would rather maintain the straight edge with this type of steel and actually use a sharpening stone when I want to sharpen the knife, because I can go up to a higher grit stone and polish the knife. Also, it is easier to do a better job on a stone as you are working on a stationary surface and not waving both hands around.

Great for knife maintenance, at a great price. Use it to hone all my knives about once a week. Minimizes the need for sharpening, prolonging the life of the blades.

Best Deals for Edgeware Standard Sharpening Steel

It does the job at a good price. Seems well made. Not much else I can say about it. If it lasts it's a great deal.

Honest reviews on Edgeware Standard Sharpening Steel

This is my first sharpening steel, and I used it for a couple knives that I was given for Christmas (11 months ago) that had become quite gnarly.

Directions for use are right on the label, and by following them I was able to refine the blade of both knives within a couple minutes.

I did subtract one star from the product for build quality, though. The handle is very cheap feeling, and has jagged edges on it as if it came out of a mold and was never polished/buffed. Nothing major, but I did feel it was worth noting.

Bottom line: I am very happy with the purchase, and I can see myself using it for many years to come.

I've tried several of these over the years and some of the more expensive ones have ended up in the trash, especially the ceramic models. The handle and guard are comfortable and well designed. Love the hanging hook. It also puts the blade back in true with just a few swipes. You can't ask for more than that.

First off, this is a carbon steel wok so you do have to season it and keep it seasoned. I like that because I think it adds more traditional flavor to the food. The wok is very durable; I baked it in the oven for almost 10 minutes and the wood handles were still OK. =) The only thing that seems a little flimsy is the wok cover but it's still OK. I use my wok everyday and I cook almost everything in it I steam, fry, boil.. I've even made steamed desserts in it (Malaysian recipe). Love it!

I like this set. The wok is pretty standard, which is a good thing, and the set includes a nice compliment of pieces.

The most important part is the wok itself, and it is a good quality carbon steel wok that should last many years.

The cook book is a joke, but everything else is ok. The quality of the ladle and spatula isn't that great, but they are certainly usable. When you figure in what you will spend for a decent carbon steel wok and lid, you are basically getting the other items for free. I will probably wind up replacing them at some point but it's nice to have them now.

Best Deals for Norpro 10-Piece Wok Set

This wok set is great for a beginner or experienced cook. It is easy to use and to clean. Well made and durable. Areal pleasure to use. I will probably buy more as gifts for friends and family who love to cook. The price on Amazon was great (a real buy)

Honest reviews on Norpro 10-Piece Wok Set

Good deal on this. The wok is great when taken care of, the rest of the pieces are usable but flimsy.

I got this set over 10 years ago from a friend who'd received it and never used it. First thing outta the box I used it, washed it and it showed signs of rusting.

Well duh, it's "carbon steel" not stainless steel. I have a nice carbon steel chefs knife that'll do the same thing if not treated correctly.

Remembering my time working as a busboy in a Chinese restaurant, I always noticed that the woks the chefs used were heavily blackened and seasoned and the chefs themselves were the only ones to wash them with boiling water over high flame. Problem solved.

It needs to be seasoned like all carbon steel and iron cookware does. So I scoured it out really good (yes it was scratched up a bit in the process but for this procedure that doesn't matter) then proceeded to give it a nice coat of shortening and stuck it on top of a hot charcoal grill (being sure to remove the wooden handles) until it was nice and cooked on to a brown/black patina. The result? An almost ceramic-like nonstick coating. Browns nicely and handles the highest heat my old stovetop can muster. Wash it out with a plastic scrubby using only water or just paper towels, dry immediately by hand and give it little coating of food-grade mineral oil. Treat it the same as an iron skillet and it should last a lifetime. No more rust problems here. We use it for most stir-fry but found it quite adept at deep frying all sorts of goodies.

I know most people won't understand (or care to bother) with this process since it requires some care, but for those of you who actually enjoy learning and cooking in new ways with new tools rather than just looking cool in the kitchen with the latest gadget, I hope this sill point you in the right direction.

Since I received this wok I used it a couple of times and I am really happy of this choice. The only thing to be careful it's the wok needs to be cleaned quickly in order not to damage too much the surface.

Pyrex Advantage 9 x 13 Inch Rectangular Baking Dish with Cover Reviews

Pyrex Advantage 9 x 13 Inch Rectangular Baking Dish with Cover
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

To me, Pyrex is synonomous with heat-proof tempered glass cookware. That's not what this baking dish is. Instead this is a stamped metal pan with a non-stick coating. While it appears like a little heavier gauge metal than the bargain basement pans, it's not what I'd call heavy duty either. My micrometer says that the material thickness is 0.02505" inclusive of the coatings on both sides.

The pan itself, once you get past the material not being what you expected, is a nice design. All of the inside corners are (rounded) at >1/4" radius which should make it easier to clean than a pan with sharp corner bends. It also has a 1 1/4" flange around to the top edges that extends outward and upward at about a 20 degree angle from horizontal. The outside edge of the flange is finished in a full roll which should give it considerable extra strength and eliminate any sharp edges. The flange also provides some slosh protection if you're carrying the pan with a liquid inside and makes the pan particularly easy to carry even if you're wearing oven mitts. There are two embossed marks on the inside of one of the long sides of the pan that indicate the levels at which the pan is 1/2 and 3/4 full. There are also tick marks embossed in the tops of the flanges on all four sides a tad less than 1 1/2" apart. These are there presumably for you to use as a guide when cutting the contents of the pan into portions.

The coating looks like a typical silver/gray non-stick material that probably won't stand up to metal utensils. So make sure you use non-stick safe plastic spatulas and knives with this pan if you want to preserve the integrity of the coating.

The top is pretty much like it looks in the picture. It is made of a moulded semi-transparent clear plastic with a snap catch on each end which secures it quite securely to the pan. Of course, this cover is meant as a storage cover and would not be suitable for any application hotter than warm water.

I'm torn on how to rate this pan. It's not what you would probably expect and nowhere in the product description is it mentioned that this is not a Pyrex glass pan, but instead stamped metal. This is deceptive since I think it's natural that you would expect a smoke colored glass pan after reading the description and looking at the picture. However, if you want a medium duty non-stick metal pan this is a well-designed pan and will probably serve you well. That's why I've given it a 4. If the metal was a bit heavier gauge I'd have given it a 5.

I bought two of these for my mother who makes us breakfast casseroles every Christmas. I thought I was ordering glass pyrex baking dishes with covers and had them shipped directly to her. I was surprised when she gave them to me full and they were metal. Nevertheless, after our brunch of baked on eggs, cheese, sausage, etc... I put them in the sink to soak for an hour or so. You seriously could have wiped them clean with a paper towel! One swipe with the sponge and the pan was clean! No scrubbing required at all. As the edges are rounded, there is no scouring tight corners. I am concerned that over time the non-stick coating may degrade, but hopefully with use of plastic utensils they will last for awhile. I may order a few for myself and toss all my old Baker's Secret pans! I wouldn't trust the handle on the plastic lid unless you are carrying something very lightweight.

Best Deals for Pyrex Advantage 9 x 13 Inch Rectangular Baking Dish with Cover

This is the best no stick pan I have ever owned, and the great tight fitting cover makes it even better. The cover has a handle recessed in it and makes it so easy to transport without worry of the cover coming off. It even has lines inside to make even cutting very easy to achieve. I had to go to Amazon to find it after my neighbor saw mine and wanted one. I was surprised it was "pyrex" brand, as I associate pyrex with glass products which I also have.

Honest reviews on Pyrex Advantage 9 x 13 Inch Rectangular Baking Dish with Cover

Bakes and carries well, easy to use lid. Be careful with handle, I carry it holding onto base and not handle, it seems like the side clips would give way easily. They should try to improve the fasteners.

Our old pans were scratched and rusted. These pans replaced those and are great! They extra wide lips on each edge work well to contain anything from spilling over. The pans are very easy to clean! I'd highly recommend these!

Works like a champ to core Zucchini's, its nice the whole thing is stainless, once its covered in Zucchini insides you can give it a quick rinse and off you go. Its also a very good length for most Zucchinis.

The worse I can say is it might be too sharp, you have to be careful with it as lest you want to poke a hole out the back.

If you make stuffed Zucchinis this is a nice tool to have.

This is an elegant kitchen implement that is a pleasure to hold and to behold. It has enabled me to hollow squash I would have never dared to tackle before. And yet, is this the best that centuries of kitchen technology can devise for this task? I would think a large, sharp-edged spoon thing like a surgical curette would work better. The problem is, this implement will allow you to cut material from the walls of the squash, but doesn't really help you to drag it back up. And there's a real risk of going too far, and perforating the end of the squash. Maybe I'm not using it right! Maybe there's a youtube video on hollowing squash...

Update, several months and many squash later: While I still think a spoon-like device would be useful for hollowing squash, one does get more comfortable with this tool with experience. If you whip the tool around, you can easily break up the pulp so that, on inverting the squash, the pulp slithers out as you draw the corer outward. So I am increasingly happy with my purchase.

The pan does it job well. Great for eggs or re-heating something small. In stating that the reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the size and lack of usage for me. I should have paid better attention to the measurements before purchasing this pan. If you want to cook an egg or melt butter this is the perfect pan.

I've had brands of these little pans before. They start off nice, but usually wear out quickly. This is a "Green Pan" Tester, and the quality seems exceptionally high, and it's seriously "Non-Stick".

I wonder if there is a small handle cover for it though? the handle does get hot...

Very Pleased!

Honest reviews on GreenPan CW0004159 One Egg Fry Pan, Green

It may seem silly getting excited about a frying pan, and a tiny one at that. But for anyone that has cooked an egg, you know the torture, trade-offs, and time wasted by eggs sticking, running, yolks breaking, etc. And no one in their right mind should be buying teflon (or any knock-off 'non-stick coating'). It's a well documented health risk, and quite frankly, never lived up to the hype.

This pan's ceramic coating is amazing though. The eggs come out perfectly every time! And while that alone should be reason for everyone to buy this pan, that's only half the story. The real secret of this pan is the size...it is absolutely perfect for scrambled eggs for bagel sandwiches. They come out ever so slightly bigger than your normal deli bagel. You can even throw a slice of cheddar or gruyere on top after you flip it, let it get gooey while the second side of the egg gets a little color. Perfect brunch.

See, this really is an exciting frying pan.

I had bought the set that this matches but it did not come with this pan so I decided that I would pick this one up separately and after looking everywhere locally found that I could buy it here competitively priced.

I love this set but as anyone that has ever cooked with stainless steel will tell you; it's not the same as cooking on something non stick and requires more attention to heat etc…

I love the handles; they have a silicone or similar material covering the stainless handle and are angled in a way that makes pouring much more comfortable than most department store pots and pans. The clear lids are great and have similar handles so you can see what your cooking and not burn your fingers when removing the lids.

USA Pan 8.5 x 4.5 Inch Aluminized Steel Loaf Pan with Americoat Loaf Pan
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

I've looked at other name-brand bake pans at department stores and nothing came close to the quality of this USA Pan product. Remarkably thick and heavy construction material. Feels like something my grandmother would have had in her 1950s kitchen. I can't imagine outlasting this pan. I'm sold on USA Pan and will switch over to its product line as my other name-brand bake pans need replacement. And it's made in the USA! Unlike all the other name-brand bake pans out there shipped over from China.

I ordered this loaf pan based solely on the fact it was made in the U.S.A. I have to say, the quality exceeded my expectations. It's a very solidly made, heavy pan and it bakes bread like a dream. I'm definately ordering another one.

Yes, it's more expensive than some Made in China pan, but the quality of this pan ensures me I will have it for many, many years.

Like all USA pans, this one rates an A Plus. I love the rippled sides and the heavy gauge construction. Lightly grease the pan before baking and your bread will slide out with ease.

Best of all It's proudly made in the USA.

Honest reviews on USA Pan 8.5 x 4.5 Inch Aluminized Steel Loaf Pan with Americoat

This is a great pan!! I started making bread this year and also bought a NorPro pan that was recommended by another baker. Compared to the Norpro, this pan exceeds my expectations! With the Norpro, I *always* have to use a knife to loosen the bread to get it out and then *scrub* to clean the breadcrumbs off the side. With the USA Pans, it's a breeze!! I treat both pans the same way, but the bread comes out easily and cleanly with the USA Pan. Needless to say, the Norpro stays in my cabinet unless I have to use it. I really like these pans, want more and plan on replacing my baking pans with USA Pans as needed. Best of all, they are made in the USA!

This is a well made, high quality pan that does a great job of baking. As long as you hand wash and immediately dry, this pan should have long life. However, it is NOT dishwasher safe as the aluminized steel will corrode. After using this for several months one of my kids accidently put this through the dishwasher and the surface finish is now ruined.

I have more control of handling my food and the best part is there is no canal for hot liquids to run up and burn you when you invert them! Must have for every kitchen.

The angle works well for picking up rounded cylindrical food like suasages although they grip well on flat strips of food like bacon or small pices like string beans.Another review said not to put them in the dishwater or they would rust, so I've following that advice and my tongs are in great shape.

I just received this skillet as a gift and am delighted with it. Before, I was always burning butter, omelets, pancackes because the skillet would continue to warm up after I started cooking on my electric stove (yes, I always turn down the temp a little after I start cooking). It was just too hard to tell how hot the skillet was until the food started burning. No problem with this guy you can watch the skillet temperature rise and fall as you warm it up, add ingredients, or simmer. I liked this so much I ordered the 28cm version tonight.

The electronics use a standard AAA battery in the handle and it is easy to replace. I was a little worried about how heat might damage the battery, but found that as long as you put the skillet on a burner that's sized for the skillet, the handle stays comfortably cool. Heat spreads very evenly across the bottom.

Pros: Very simple to use. Easy to remove the temperature module for washing, dishwasher safe, the display has large, easy to read numbers, the temperature sensor responds very quickly to changes in skillet temperature, the display tells you the ideal temperature for 11 common foods, an alarm will beep if the temperature gets too hot for what you're cooking, and the walls of the skillet are nice and high, and the skillet, while sturdy, is not too heavy. The instructions are clear, although you hardly need them for basic operation. Lastly, because food isn't over-cooked, the skillet is easier to clean.

Cons: It would be nice to disable the over-temperature beeper if you know you will be watching the food cook. There was a clear piece of protective shipping plastic I didn't notice on the underside of the handle when I cooked the first time. It shriveled, but didn't burn or stick to the skillet or cause any damage, so just make sure you remove it when you unpack your skillet.

The 20cm (8") version is for cooking smaller items. If this is your first Admetior, consider the 24cm (9.5")or 28cm (11") size, which don't cost much more.

One of the greatest inventions. Makes it easy to cook food at the right temperature. Keeps you from overcooking and damaging the non stick coating which can be damaged by high temperatures.

The other day I impulsivley went and bought a Hamilton Beach Juicer. When I got it home I hemmed and hawed, wondering if I should use it or not. Did I really want it? I started looking around the internet and realized what I really wanted was something to make smoothies or other fruit concoctions. I researched a few things like the Magic Bullet and Ultimate Chopper but both had mixed reviews. I was tempted to buy the Tribest blender because it had some good reviews here at Amazon but I could only find it online and it's listed at $60 much more than what I really wanted to spend.

Instead, I went to my local Walmart and to see what they had. I saw the Hamilton Beach Personal Blender and it was priced for only $13.67 so I was interested. It's just me, so I don't need a huge and heavy unit taking up what little counter space I have. I also figured since that if I bought it at Walmart and that if I didn't like it I could easily return it.

I brought it home, looked over the manual and attempted my first smoothie. I threw in milk, strawberries, frozen raspberries and hit the button. I needed to blend it some more because of the raspberries being frozen. Live and learn, I should have done those first. I put in some ice and blended it some more. It came out wonderful!

The jar itself can be used as a serving glass. I probably will only use it in that manner at home. It has no handle so I'd be afraid I'd drop it when I was out. Then the blender would be worthless because the blade is in the jar.

* Jar twists and locks into place on the base

* Comes with a travel lid to take your drink on the go

* Cord wraps around the base

* Not intended for all food manual says not to process hard foods such as cheese, crackers or meat. A maximum of 12 tablespoons can be ground at a time. Do not try to mash potatoes, mix stiff dough, whip egg whites, grind raw meat or extract juice from fruit or veggies.

* Container cover has filler cap that can be removed to insert small objects when blending

* Can not use big chunks of ice. You need to break them down. I have an ice tray where the shape is a small circle (half ball) and it was fine. Perhaps this is what you can use those holiday themed ice trays for. Some of those sizes which I have seem I think would work in this.

* NOT dishwasher safe but easy clean up rinse, put water and soap in jar, blend for a minute, empty, rinse again and you're done.

* No complicated speeds or choices one push button

* I can't find it on the box or in the manual but according to Amazon, the motor has 175 watts of power

I just went and made another smoothie! Banana, Vanilla soy milk, little bit of chocolate syrup and instant coffee. Yummy!

This one site has TONS of recipes that you can use with this blender. You just have to play with the recipes because a lot of them are meant to be multiple servings.

* this link no longer works. Try allrecipes.com a search of "smoothies" brings up 200 results. There are books totally dedicated to smoothies. Google "smoothie" or just use your imagination.

While this might not do what a full size blender can, this is a great blender for smoothies, drinks, shakes and to grind coffee. I love that it's small, the cord wraps around the base and I can use this thing at night and not wake up the neighbors!

I just came back from the grocery store and picked up some more fruit... what else can I make???

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I got this for my 17 year old son to make smoothies. He made the most delicious peach smoothie from ice and the Big Train Fruit Tea Smoothie Blast syrup also bought on Amazon. The consistency was smooth and perfect, just like a professional frozen drink. I asked him to make me one. On the second smoothie the motor died. We thought maybe it needed a little "rest" but sadly, it was the end of the road for that blender. When pressed for details, my son admitted that he noticed a burning smell before the motor stopped dead, and yet he kept pressing that button! Bottom line: great design, lightweight, nice personal cup size, easy storage and cleanup. The motor is just not very powerful, and can't take long blending times. Still, we are going to order a replacement and see if a bit more TLC while blending gives this blender better shelf life. Seems like it worked for some of the other reviewers.

Update: we got the new blender and it is working out great. You just have to be careful to pulse the blender as you go along, and stop for a few seconds (10?) if you start to smell the motor smell. Ice is blended into drinks very well, with no big chunks. The only downside is the no dishwasher requirement. I feel pretty tempted to try it, but as this is already the second blender I will resist.

Best Deals for Hamilton Beach Personal Blender

I was looking for an inexpensive small personal blender that was powerful, easy to use, and could blend a perfect smoothie. I did a lot of research and looked into about a dozen other brands including the famed "Magic Bullet". What I found out was that not all personal blenders are made equal. The "Magic Bullet" didn't get very good reviews even though it is by far the most popular. After all my intense research, I settled on this one... The Hamilton Beach Single Serve Blender. Here's the scoop on what makes this surprising blender the "cream of the crop" :)

Pros:

-Simple and easy to use

-Easy to Clean

-Powerful enough to chop frozen fruits (and probably ice too)

-Pulse button allows you more control because you can start or stop it.

-Seems very sturdy and only has 3 parts to it. (lid, glass, and base)

-This thing is freaking cheap... got mine for $15.

-Blends Smoothies perfectly with no unchopped pieces of fruit.

-Power cord can be tucked in and wrapped around bottom of base for storage.

Cons:

-Emits a slight 'burnt oil' odor while it is in operation... but it's not as bad as it sounds.

-The Lid seems kind of flimsy.

Conclusion:

At $15 this little blender is not only a bargain, it gets the job done and does it well! In fact, it works just as well as my friend's personal blender which costs more than twice the amount I spent on this one. The elegance and simplicity of the design is also to be admired. The plastic blending container also doubles as a travel mug and the Lid to it doubles as a sipping lid when used as a travel mug. It's a nice surprise to see a product in which you can see that they put a lot of thought into it's design. It's positive aspects greatly outshine the few negatives... especially when considering the price. So if you need an amazing blender but you're on a budget, pick this one up and never look back! By the way, this thing is also available elsewhere... like "Wally World" and "Target" ...and at the same low price :)

Honest reviews on Hamilton Beach Personal Blender

This product is an effective and useful single-serving drink mixer that comes with a few drawbacks.

It is basically a tiny kitchen blender with a pulse-blend button and no other speed settings. The mixer jar works just like a blender: it is a plastic jar with ounce/ml graduations on the side that contains a built-in mixer blade with a lug on the bottom to spin it when it is on the motor; you put the jar on top of the motor unit, twist to lock it into place (be sure the lid is on tight!), and hit the pulse button on the motor. The motor screams like a dying gerbil and the blade in the jar spins to mix your stuff. When that's done, you just pull the jar off the mixer and take it with you blade and all. The mixer jar doubles as your drink container. The lid has a slideable spout cover for drinking from, and there is a plastic rim on the bottom so you can stand it upright. The jar is about 7 inches tall by 3.5 inches wide so about the size of a large coffee carry-container; it holds up to 16 ounces. It is not insulated.

You cannot disassemble it for cleaning; you just wash with soap and water. (I've found that pulsing the jar with some soap and warm water inside works pretty well, but it takes some effort to get down around the very bottom of the mixing blades with a brush.) The lid has a lot of grooves and crannies but it cleans up pretty well; if you're some kind of sterility fanatic, it's hard to get under the sliding spout cover, but you can rinse it with soap and water to get it clean.

As to functionality, as far as this unit goes, it's fine. The mixing action is quite good, and the lid stays tightly on the jar. I've mostly used it for light powder mixes, nothing heavy; it does well with that, and takes very little pulsing to get a good mix. The directions state that it is not to be used for hot drinks, or heavy solid foods. It can probably handle fruit chunks, but it is far from a powerhouse.

A few drawbacks: as noted, the motor is not strong. Others have complained that it burns out with long use; I have only used it in quick-pulse mode, and that is what I would recommend. It runs at very high speed and vibrates if you don't hold it while pulsing; I don't know how long you can expect it to last it really does seem to be laboring with even light duty. My real complaint is the lid: the only lids provided are the "drink-through" type with a hole in the lid near the drinking spout, and a flat sliding cover that opens and closes the hole (it is not a positive-cover system, like some spring-loaded types it is just a flat cover that slides in a groove back and forth over the hole). The cover is nowhere near watertight, and there is also a small airhole on the other side of the lid that has no cover at all. This means that the drink will seep out easily if you tip the jar, even with the lid on and the cover closed. Liquid also oozes up around the hole cover while you are pulsing the mixer, so the lid gets wet and dirty before you even finish making your drink. If you are carrying it in a bag or purse, you have got to be very careful never to tip the bag, and probably should enclose the drink cup in a plastic bag. This is a pain, and really detracts from the usefulness of the system, which is, obviously, intended to be portable. I don't understand why they built a product expressly for the purpose of creating liquid drinks to take out of the home with you, and made the container leaky. I would prefer a simple completely closed cover that you could remove to drink; I understand that many people prefer the sip covers, especially in their cars, but, compared to other to-go containers on the market, this one is unusually cheesy. If you are using this system to make drinks to take with you for lunch or a workout later in the day, you essentially have to spend your entire day worrying about leaks and remembering to hold your container carefully upright which is the opposite of making things easier for you.

In short, the system works well enough and is very convenient in terms of speed and ease of use. It takes only minutes to mix up a drink, and then you don't have to find a container to put it in (or have two separate containers to clean). Having two mixer jars is great for couples or for making two drinks to have with you at different times of the day. However, there are questions about the durability of the motor, and the leaky lid creates a serious hassle. The latter is particularly regrettable, because otherwise it's a great system.

This blender is good for the price. You get what you pay for. I paid $15.00 for it to travel with to make smoothies. If you hold down the button too long, there is a little burning smell coming from the motor, so it would be easy to burn it out. I have just blended protein powder, milk, and bananas with this and it has worked well for me. It's better to pulse the start button than to keep it running.

Was a little leary of microwave pasta makers, but for $13 decided to give it a try. Pleasantly surprised at product performance. A bit of a learning curve to dial in cooking times for various pastas and types of rice--after that the convenience is a big plus. Well constructed and like that it is dishwasher safe.

This rice and pasta cooker set is a good product but I add more time when cooking pasta as they advise to cook pasta as indicated by the pasta maker on the package which I did the first time and had to add half the minutes indicated.

Big time saver as well.

Although it would have been nice if it had been included already. The steamer is made to nest & has matching handles to the cooker. Really extends the cooker's use. I've already steamed veggies, done hard boiled eggs, and made a one pot meal.

For some reason they decided to make the Simply Stainless Steamer tray smaller than the Aluminum one even though they both fit on the same size cooking pot. At first I was concerned, but when I realized that the new size didn't affect the vapor seal I stopped worrying and started cooking. Product works, is Stainless Steel, what more can I say :)

I recently got my first rice cooker (Aroma) with a stainless steel lining due to the fact that I did not want anything with a coating that would eventually break down. Paid a lot more but it's well worth it for my peace of mind. My rice cooker did not come with a steamer and I decided to get this after the fact... what a nice addition to a great rice cooker! It's nice to throw in some fresh veggies while the rice is cooking and it cleans up so well! Love using stainless steel rather! Haven't tried cooking fish or chicken in it yet but will do so at some point. This is a quality product and will be used a lot!

I havent quite mastered the art of steaming meat while making rice yet, but this is very convenient regardless. I use it at least 3 times a week, amd I'm eating cleaner than ever.

Glad I bought this to go in the rice cooker. I think I might need a little help working out the kinks with the water/rice/vegs/meat ratio. Assume that I will eventually figure out how to use it well. Would still recommend.
