This lid is wonderful. I can see all my cooking and easy to clean. I drop it once yet never broke:)

The lid was the quality expected from Berndes and it fits other 9.5 inch items that I have. I was hoping it would fit the crepe pan; however, it is slightly to big to fit properly. S&H was high and out of line with similar size and weight items I have purchased. I will try to limit my purchases to items sold by Amazon to make use of Amazon Prime (best deal since sliced bread)

Cuisinox 14.5 x 11 x 2.5 Inch Rectangular Roaster Review

This pan is made of fairly heavy gauge stainless steel, so it bends very little when hot. It's pretty big and deep to hold it's contents and resulting juices. It has convenient handles and a nice edge all around to tuck an aluminum foil covering. I prefer enamel pans for cooking and ease of cleaning, but this is an excellent value. It did come with one of those nuisance stickers on the bottom of the pan. You'll have to soak it in hot water or scrub it off with citrasolv or alcohol.

I am very disappointed in the size of this pan. It is not nearly the size that was stated. I wanted a pan bigger than a regular 9x13 for lasagna but this pan was not any bigger. I will still use this pan for baking in but not for what I wanted it for. I think it is cheaply made. I would not recommend this one at all.

I love my new glasses. I think they look great on my table. I have oversized dishes so I needed some substantially sized goblets and these are perfect. I have seen similar ones for over double the price!

The glasses are heavy, solid, and a good size for water glasses. We use them everyday at every meal. They are also pretty with the "bubble" effect in the glass.

This is an awesome and functional set for a family, and my last set (identical to this one except for the lids) has lasted more than 8 years.

I recently picked up a few new T-fal pieces and really like the new glass lids that are included with this one. Maybe I'm a nosy cook, but being able to see inside is a huge advantage.

The pans are are practical sizes, and the set gives you almost everything you need for a kitchen. The one pan this set is missing is a Saute or Chicken pan, but those are hard to find I had to buy mine separately. However, until I found one (T-fal, of course), I used the deeper pot.

The key to using T-fal is to make sure you never heat it on anything other than a medium flame. A higher temperature will cause the T-fal to burn and you will slowly erode its ability to be nonstick. Also, if you use a dishwasher, you will need to season it again after using it a few times. The dishwashing soap will also cause your exterior to lose its gloss, although it won't impact the nonstick nature.

Also, while it is possible to use metal implements on it, it can get scratched over time, so I recommend wood or plastic.

I got these as a gift for myself and I am really enjoying them. I've only had them for a month, but I use them every day for everything from making crepes and pancakes to stew and steaming broccoli. They do fine in the dishwasher. And heat up nicely on the stove (haven't tried them in the oven). I am quite enjoying this set.

As a classically trained chef, I have an extensive collection of kitchen items not always found in a typical home. I tend to think of kitchen products from a professional point of view, although I enjoy many items made for home use. Le Creuset is uncommon in professionally kitchens; however they manufacture quality and effective products.

Le Creuset's porcelain enameled cast iron cooking vessels are cast from molten iron formed in single use sand moulds. Covering cast iron with porcelain enamel not only looks good, but has multiple benefits. The enamel, being a solid coating, is one of the most hygienic surfaces to cook on, does not stain, absorb odors, retain flavors, and is easy to clean eliminating the need for seasoning and preventing rust issues. Limit cooking tools to plastic or wood to prevent damaging the enamel.

Cast iron is a highly efficient material which absorbs and distributes heat efficiently. For this reason, it is recommended to use on low to medium heat. There are a few exceptions like boiling water where cooking on high heat is appropriate and okay. Otherwise, cooking with high heat may cause food to stick, discolor the enamel coating, or unevenly cook the food. Cast iron also retains heat, keeping food warm while serving.

This pan holds 2 1/2 quarts of food, measures 7 3/4 x 11 1/4 x 2 inches internally, and weighs 6 pounds 10 ounces. 2 1/2 quarts will typically feed 4 6 people when it comes to casseroles, consider the larger roaster to feed more. Except for roasts, the roasting pan tends to do best if at least 3/4 full. Any less and you may overwhelm your food with the pan's evenly dispersed heat.

Two features people tend to complain about are the cost and weight. The cost seems steep compared to common pans made from other materials. Compare to quality cookware, and the cost may seem more reasonable. When comparing to the old cast iron pans past generations have used for cornbread and camping, Le Creuset seems expensive. However the manufacturing process requires making a mould for each and every pan produced. They then go through the enameling process before shipping these heavy pans. If you take what goes into making and distributing these high quality cast iron products, the cost tends to make sense. Then consider this pan will easily last a lifetime when taken care of. Additionally cast iron is a heavy material. The enamel doesn't add much to the weight, when comparing to a similar cast iron product, the weight is going to be comparable.

I find the many benefits of Le Creuset make this pan a worthy purchase. This pan adds a desirable crispy texture to dishes like mac-n-cheese. Add a roasting rack and this pan is perfect for roasting chickens. The enamel is attractive, while the cast iron keeps the food warm for serving. Cleaning and caring for this dishwasher safe pan is easy. When properly taken care of, this pan will last a lifetime.

Knowing the benefits and the pleasure I get from using Le Creuset, I don't hesitate to recommend this pan. If you choose to purchase this pan, and use it for its strengths you won't be disappointed.

PROS:

Efficient heat absorption and distribution

Hygienic enamel cooking surface

Does not stain, absorb odors, or retain flavors

Easy to clean when not abused or misused

Can be transferred from stove top to the oven to the table

Dishwasher safe

Can easily last a lifetime

CONS:

Its heavy, as cast iron tends to be, weighing 6 pounds 10 ounces

Although I am not a professional chef I do take my cooking seriously. Over the years I have invested in quality German and Japanese knives, French copper pans and, of course, Le Creuset cookware. Although these enameled cast iron pans are not as versatile as some of my copperware they are none the less indispensable.

Since cast iron is not as conductive as copper or aluminum it heats up and cools down much more slowly. This characteristic makes it unsuitable for sautéing or for when you need a pan that is highly responsive. However it's even heating and retention of heat makes it perfect for casseroles, roasts, mac-n-cheese, potato dishes, etc. I have been in love with Le Creuset's French ovens for years and use them for chili, stews and other dishes that benefit from long, slow cooking.

I had this item on my Amazon Wish List for quite a while. I could have bought it for myself but it's one of those things that you appreciate more when it is a gift. In France Le Creuset collections are often bequeathed to thankful children from parents that have cooked with them for decades. My oldest son bought this for me from Amazon as a Christmas present. I promised him that he could have it when I was done with it (hopefully a long time from now).

A couple of things to be aware of: at 8" x 11.75" this is smaller than the standard 9"x13" Pyrex dishes that are often used for the recipes that this pan is better suited for. Perhaps it is because Europeans generally serve smaller portion than we do in the US. Another thing to mention is that cast iron tends to be the heaviest cookware available. This roaster can top 13 15 lbs. or more when filled with dense food such as potatoes au gratin or a good sized cut of meat.

Yes, this is a relatively expensive product but bear in mind that you never regret having the best (at least not once you have finished paying for it). This roaster is actually a pleasure to clean (and I don't say that lightly). I will have it for the rest of my life and then it will be passed on to my children along with some very warm memories of meals past.

Honest reviews on Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 8-by-11-3/4-Inch Rectangular Roaster

It's big, it's heavy, and you'll do more with it than you did before with any other "casserole" pan. Le Creuset is the creme de-la creme of cookware but if you aren't a fan of cast iron, you may want to look at their stoneware instead.

The enamel on this baker is thick and hard and while easy to clean, is very resistant to damage and stains. The cast iron means that heat is evenly dispersed. This baker goes from "prep" in the refrigerator (or freezer) straight into the oven and right back out again. The only thing I wish it had is a lid of some sort so that it can be used more effectively as a "take along" pan because it holds heat so well.

I use this baker to make casseroles, broil meat, bake cakes, cook poultry, etc... It can even be used on the stove top if you're in a pinch due to an already full oven or if your stove top cookware is already in use. It's one of the most versatile pieces in my kitchen and was well worth the investment as it will last a lifetime.

Updated May 2012 I wrote the first review in January. After using these pans daily since we received them, I have to say they're still terrific. I know some of the reviews report that the non-stick coating doesn't last, but we haven't had any issues with them. I don't wash the pans. I do wipe them out with a dish towel as soon as I remove food from them, when they're still warm. I keep them seasoned with a small amount of coconut oil. Occasionally, residue builds up on the side of one of the pans. When that happens, I fill the pan with warm water and add an anti-grease dish soap, such as Dawn or Ful-Sol, and let it soak overnight. Then I just rinse it out and dry it with a towel--no scrubbing and no more residue. I season the pan before using it again. I'm very careful not to use metal utensils for cooking; instead, I use silicon, wood, or utentils made specifically for non-stick pans.

--------

January 2012 We've been concerned for some time about toxins from traditional non-stick pans. So we invested in high end French cast iron several years ago. They're expensive and heavy, and not as non-stick as we'd hoped. After reading the reviews, we decided to try the 3-Pan set of Green Earth Pans and are delighted we did. As avid Atkins dieters, we eat a lot of protein, particularly eggs and fish. Both brown nicely in the Green Earth pans, and can be cooked with little to no oil or butter. Clean up is simple--just a wipe with a soft cloth or sponge, which we prefer over paper towels. We've been looking at ceramic pans for a while and were careful about investing. Most brands seemed expensive and unproven. The price point with Green Earth was what we were looking for and the Amazon reviews helped us make the decision to buy. It was a good decision, and one we'd make again.

Bought these pans over six months ago as an affordable replacement for our peeling teflon pans. They have been fantastic the non-stick coating still works and the pans clean up beautifully. Don't know why some people think the non-stick coating wears off so soon. We never put them in the dishwasher. After cooking some foods we notice a "film" that won't wash off. Just use a finger nail to gently remove. Don't spray with oils or non-stick coatings. And you don't need to cook at temperatures as high as you may be used to. We found eggs stuck if we turned the heat up too high. Bought a second set recently for a gift. Love them!

Best Deals for Green Earth Frying Pan 3-Piece Set by Ozeri (8", 10", 12")

There are not enough negatives in my vocabulary to describe my disappointment with this set of pans. EVERYTHING sticks. I bought them April 2012 and they have never worked properly despite meticulous care. They do cook non stick eggs if you flood the pan with oil and do not allow the food to come in contact with the pans. But what's the point? Food sticks to the waffle like bottom of these pans. I don't know the folks writing positive reviews but question how so many loved these awful pans. I gave one star because they hold food and can be heated. But you may well regret this purchase.

Update: 2-19-1013 I was contacted by the company regarding my review. They offered to replace the pans. I was very surprised. It seems they do monitor the reviews. I wonder if we low raters got part of a bad batch of coatings. If they do in fact replace them and they work, I will have to change my review. I have to give them credit for what appears to be real customer service.

UPDATE #2

Ok In March the new set arrived as promised. I want to make sure the last small pan didn't crash due to pilot error so i read the instructions for the umpteenth time. The instructions say to "precondition" pans prior to first use.

I do a lot of BBQ and grilling and I was pretty sure they didn't meant "season" as I do on the grill grates. i.e. coat with oil and burn it off. . {and No, I do not use the pans on a grill ]

But to make sure what "precondition" meant, I emailed the company. They got back to me within a day, as they have in the past. Again, this is serious customer service.

Turns out, according to Rachel K at Ozeri in California, it is recommended that you lightly coat the pans with cooking oil and store them like that between meals. Not sure how sanitary that is but I will do as recommended.

I now think maybe my expectations were too high for today's eco friendly products. I remember frying eggs with no vegetable oil at all. I thought that was healthy.

ECO is latin for "good for the environment but can't possibly work as well because by law we have to take out the stuff that works best" . Ever use an eco-friendly cleanser? 'Nuff said.

Apparently gone are the days of true non-stick since the materials used in the old pans may cause cancer in California laboratory attorneys and has been outlawed.

But if these pans result in less pollution in some way, i am all for it.

So... I give the company 5 stars for customer service, and this review should be considered minimum three stars for that reason alone.

However since smart folks read the bad reviews first, I will leave it here for now.

I will be back to let you know if i can fry an egg and get most of it out of the pan.

Update, April 2013.

Well these new ones work work with sufficient oil in the pan. I have not tried to fry anything without oil and do not expect to. Go ahead and buy a set. I must have gotten a bad batch before, but no way to prove that.

Fair is fair. This is now a four star rating. Partly because the pans do seem to be fine now, and partly due to the excellent customer service.

That's it. I'm done.

UPDATE 11-13

I now have a rust color inside the tiny waffle pattern over much of one pan. I have babied this pan, never been ion a dishwasher, always hand washed with gentle detergent and warm water. Food sticks and I have no clue what the stuff I am seeing is. For the life of me i don't understand all the positive ratings No way i would buy another set. I give up.

Honest reviews on Green Earth Frying Pan 3-Piece Set by Ozeri (8", 10", 12")

We bought this set because we've become more health-conscious lately. "Environmentally-friendly" does not always mean it will be high quality, but in this case, we were happy with the high-performance follow-through. We've made fried eggs and scrambled and both cooked beautifully. The textured bottom seems to keep food elevated on air and makes release of the food easier. A great set!

This product had such good reviews that I chose to buy all three pans. I am an optimist at heart so I hate to write a bad review, but these pans just are awful. I purchased them 3 months ago. The first time I used the pans they were wonderful! Nothing stuck to them. But a mere 3 months later and they are the worst pans. One has a chip in it (which could have been user error maybe I used a metal spoon to stir something?) and none of them have retained their non-stick quality. I would not recommend these pans to anyone. (And, unfortunately, they are past the 90 day return policy or I would return them.)

I found this item when searching for an Oneida stainless steel one that looked almost identical, though heavier. As it turns out, this was was almost identical, only it was lighter and easier to use. It seems to wash and wear well in spite of being light. I intend to buy a few more, as it has been ideal for turning pancakes, eggs, and even burgers in the skillet. The price was also attractive.

I am really impressed with this Amco Slotted Spatula It really feeels good in the hand the weight is nice and it feels balanced. I was concerned about the handle heating, but it has not been an issue. I like this slotted spatula more than others(more expensive) that I own. I reach for it first!

Nice wide nylon blade and lightweight stainless handle. Easy to use but handle does get hot if left touching the pan. I'll be looking for more from this company.

Honest reviews on Amco Nylon Slotted Wide Blade Spatula

This was a present to myself. I love eggs over easy for breakfast. My regular turner too often resulted in broken yokes. This has been a wonderful solution. The base is thin so it slides under the eggs easily. It's large enough that it fits under two eggs and it's worked wonderfully. I would have liked a sturdier handle, but it hasn't detracted from it's effectiveness and it's held up well. I'm glad I bought it and would recommend it. It only got 4 stars because the handle is so light weight, but maybe that's a reminder to flip gently.

I officially have a matching cappuccino and teaspoon set that just make the whole experience of drinking coffee fun! I love Le Creuset and have been collecting items slowly and this combined with the little coffee cannisters makes a "tea" party out of coffee :) Just FYI, you should probably buy 6 cups/saucers to go together. Or, you could buy 4 and get the sugar/creamer set and use a spoon in each of those. I opted for 6 cups/saucers for a nice set.

The ergonomically designed handle is larger and easier to grip than a conventional round knob. It automatically orients the location of the vent hole away from the cook's wrist to prevent accidental scalding from escaping steam. The inner flange of the stainless steel rim measures exactly 7-13/16" to nest nicely inside a conventional 8" pot. The handle is screwed directly to the lid without any intervening washer or adapter, therefore keeping the lid top easier to clean and with an elegant minimalist contemporary design.

I have had the Ozeri 8" Green Earth Frying Pan for a couple of months now, and received the matching lid about a month ago. Prior to having the lid, I was using the pan for scrambled eggs, omelets, and other cooking that I didn't need a lid for. When cooking chops, and putting it in the oven, I had to cover it with aluminum foil.

Now that I have the lid I can cook ground beef, and onions, for a Shepherd's pie. I also use the pan for making my favorite dish, which is an Indian curry.

The lid is tempered glass, and has a really neat vent area, for allowing the steam to come out. It is silver in color, the same as the rim of the lid, and has a hole in the middle, with 4 smaller ones around the outside of it. The lid fits perfecting into the Green Earth Frying Pan.

Now when I am cooking my pork chops, I can sear then in the pan, and transfer the pan, and lid, into the oven. As long as I keep the temperature down to 392 F or below, it is ovenproof. I normally cook my chops at 325 F.

When using the lid, the black handle/knob, which is on the top, stays cool, making for easy cooking.

I can watch my food cooking through the clear glass lid. Before I would have to check my food, by taking off the lid, to ensure it didn't run dry.

I always wash my pots and pans by hand. However, this lid is suitable to go into the dishwasher.

I was sent the 8" Green Earth Frying Pan Lid, by Ozeri for my personal use. I was under no contract, or obligation to write a review, or to write a favorable one if I chose to write one.

The noted design problem is that there is a narrow space between the glass and the lip where the lip steps in to be the correct diameter to fit the pan. Any food that gets into the narrow area between lid glass and lip is difficult to remove, at least with hand washing. If not removed this could become a health hazard. IMO the lid would be better if all glass construction at the edges or if the glass was smaller in diameter so that the metal edge did not include the step-in and resulting narrow food trapping gap. As is the lid works fine but is a PITA to clean thoroughly, particularly if there has been any boil over or splatter into the noted gap area.

This also applies to the 12" lid which I have and presumably to the 10" size too.

Honest reviews on Ozeri ZP-20GL Green Earth Frying Pan Lid, 8-Inch

The lid fits the 8 inch Green Earth frying pan perfectly (I'm writing a separate review for this) and is very sturdy, as well as easy to clean. It sounds silly, but the whole pan and lid set looks so stylish that I keep it on my stove at all times, along with a beautiful red dutch oven. Aside from the fit, I like that the handle is very sturdy and stays cool (being sufficiently far away from the glass) making it easy to take the lid off with one hand, while stirring with the other. I have used lids before where the handle is either heat-conductive, or it is too close to the lid which heats up so it requires a quick touch or using a pot holder. Anywho, definitely would recommend the product.

Great lid. Fits my T-Fal pot like it was made for it. This lid has a slight inward taper on the rim so that it will fit almost any 8 inch pot or pan just like factory made, no matter what the brand. Ozeri got the lid to me ahead of schedule and I could not be happier with them or the lid. Buy it, you'll like it.

Though a chicken roasts wonderfully in this roaster, I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the stainless steel finish--it pock-marked after washing by hand with a mild detergent and no abrasive scouring pad, just a wash cloth.

This replaced a speckled roaster I had had for a long time. Looks nice, cooks the same, although I had not cooked on a

rack for a long time. I like to start a roast hot (400) and then turn down for a slow cook. Did a very nice job, cleaned up well.

Great for the price.

I ordered this as a gift for my step-father after my mother past away. He absolutely loves it. He said it was the perfect size for him to cook in.

Honest reviews on 3-qt Stainless Steel Oval Chicken Roaster 3 Pc Set

I really like this little roaster. The day after I received it, I went out and got a chicken and roasted it in it. It came out beautifully, and very tasty, too. I have used it for roasting vegetables, too, like potatoes and carrots. I plan on getting some fall root vegetables and slow roasting them in the next few weeks. Makes me hungry already! It is a rather lightweight little pan, but that doesn't interfere with the cooking, I don't think. It does clean up easily, and is way less bulky than my other heavy stainless pans. Mine has got some cooking stains around the edges of the top, but I suppose if I really set to scrubbing, maybe gently with a little Bon Ami, I could get that off.

We have an eclectic variety of pots and pans and it has somehow gotten us through. However, my wife was reading about teflon and other plastics that could potentially harm us by releasing small amounts of the chemicals over a long period of time. We have a new baby, so the concern is greater. At that point we decided to give up our non-stick pots and pans and start over by replacing them with stainless steel. My wife liked the Tramontina brand and we started with picking up a set of two-quart, three-quart and four-court covered sauce pans.

I'm impressed. These are real hefty pots, much heftier than the pots they replaced. There's a lot of steel in these things and it gives the ware a feeling of quality. I like the sturdy, easy-to-grip handles. Another thing I like are the flat bottoms which fit nicely on our ceramic-top stove. I think I can thus boil water faster than with the old pots, perhaps because of the good surface fit. They're nice cooking instruments and good looking, albeit somewhat expensive. Plus, they are made in Brazil, one of the few household things that don't come from China. These should give excellent service, plus they look very elegant in our kitchen.

These pans are HEAVY, even the 3 quart size could use a handle on the other end. I don't know what the 6.5 inch dimension was supposed to be (I thought it was the bottom) but this pan measures 7.5 inches across the bottom, the part that actually sits on the burner so it is larger than I expected. Neither of those comments detract from the quality of this item however it might matter to some people. I love the pan.

The information that comes with it says "do not use it on HIGH temps". I thought that was odd but it gets hot really fast (my electric burner only works right if the pan is FLAT and makes good contact) so it seems the Tri-Ply is doing its job. It is much more efficient than my old stainless or my newer non-stick.

The handle is riveted on and everything is oven proof to 350 according to the enclosed literature. It was a good buy.

This will serve as a review of all three Tramontina sauce pans. I am very pleased with the finish and versatility of these pans.. I would rate them as being equal to the much more expensive All Clad pans for my application They are certainly superior to the stainless pots and pans we received as a wedding gift 54 years ago. I really got into cooking after retirement and purchased Calphalon and Cuisinart items. But, I am very impressed and happy with the quality of Tramontina and wish they offered more items and were easier to find at retail establishments.

I really like this brand. It has nice weight for even cooking and is a great value. It's a keeper for sure.

This 3 quart pan is very heavy. The handle is not shaped well, which makes pouring and even washing it difficult. I like it other than the handle, but that is a big problem for me.

This grill rack makes it much easier to cook foods that would usually be at risk for falling thru your grill's racks. I especially like it for cooking fish. Easy to clean and easy to lubricate with a non-stick spray.
