I had never had a pressure canner or cooker in the past. I do a lot of canning/preserving, but had always done the basic "hot bath" type for pickling & jellies. I needed a decent pressure canner so I could (safely) do low acid veggies & meats. This item was given to me as a gift. Just used it today and it is very easy to work with. The instruction manual was precise and to the point. So much so, I was glad to have my canning book and some other info on pressure canning from elsewhere as it seemed they assumed you had already used one in the past. But I won't mark it down in rating for that. Could just be me and my interpretation issues. This Granite Ware 0707-1 21-1/2-Quart Steel/Porcelain Water-Bath Canner with Rack is a heavy duty, quality made item. Looks to last me years of service.

Anyhow, if you want to pressure can some quality foods for storage, be that veggies from your garden or the local farmer's market; or make up your favorite baked bean or beef stew and can it for later use, this is a great cooker to invest in. This will hold up to 7 quart jars, OR up to 8 pint jars, OR up to 24 half-pint jars (using both the canning rack and the strainer rack).

I bought this after seeing it advertised in a garden catalog and looking for a better price online. I have a regular pressure cooker and a canner, but I wanted to be able to can more fruits and veggies, and I was sold by the ad on the box (not shown here, shown on other product pages online for this model) that advertised you could steam 60 tamales in it. I'm still trying to find out how to do that, as the steamer comes with NO recipes and almost no information at all in the manual.

This is the first time I've used a pressure canner/steamer and there was a bit of a learning curve. My regular pressure cooker came with a great manual with precise instructions and cooking times, recipes, etc. and I expected that with this one. This barely has instructions on how to put it together and operate it, plus one chart about cooking times. I've had to research everything online to be sure I don't blow up the kitchen. :)

That said, it is a great product and we've used it a ton this week. My husband and I put up a lot of produce this time of year and we've canned 8 quarts of apple pie filling, 20 pints of applesauce, 2 quarts of condensed apple juice and 9 pints of pickles -and that's just in a few days. I'm sure we'll get our money's worth from it! Once you get the hang of it, it is easy to use and I love my new canning options.

One last note-I bought this less than a month ago and it was $20 cheaper than it is today. There were no reviews then and now there is a positive review, so I wonder if that and a few purchases triggered a price increase? You might want to watch the price for a short time and see if it continues to fluctuate.

I have been canning for a few years now, and decided to take it to the next level, more foods more canning. The water bath method si not possible for a lot of foods so it was a necessary purchase. I looked at a bunch, as I am sure that you did and finally settled on this one. I could not be happier. The packaging was very well done, and shipped in just a few days. The cooker itself is very sturdy and well made. Cleans easy, loads easy, works great, heavy duty construction.

This canner is big. It can fit 8 pints and 5 or 6 quart jars. It is very nice quality and the annodized bottom didn't discolor like my Presto pressure cooker did. The jar rack is very nice quality too and a nice bonus. This canner may come at a lower price but it is super-high quality.

After my first use, the coating on the wire rack came out melted and almost burnt looking. There was plenty of water in it right up to the 3" mark. So for a "new" wire rack, it looks very old and worn. Also, the jars don't sit evenly on the rack without some wrangling around. I'm new to canning and enjoying it, but I found it strange that while this canner will hold 7 quart jars, using pint jars only allows for one more jar, 8. It seems that if this canner were manufactured just a tad taller, pint jars could be double-stacked and allow for a more productive use of pint jars. 16 pints or 7 quarts would be a nice option. Also, it would be nice if it came with a gauge.

But it does work. Still disappointed in the rubbery-coated rack melting and burnt-looking after the first use. And it's getting worse with each use. It doesn't affect the usability of the canner though. Someday, I would like to get one of those gasket-less cast ones....the expensive one.

These are extra large...larger than I have ever seen in a brining bag. Double sealed so no leaks even with a very large turkey (close to 25 pounds). Made the turkey succulent...maybe the best turkey I have ever had. I am going to buy another set for Christmas time since I will be using my second bag on Thanksgiving. This will make a great gift to the chef in your house.

These were beyond my expectations and we are recommending them to all our friends.

My wife and I are very pleased with these skillets we purchased online. We really enjoy using them, learning to cook the "waterless and "greaseless" way. When we grill meat on the skillet, we do not need to use any cooking oil. The meat gets cooked in its own fat. For vegetables, we find the cooking time shorter using the skillet, compared to using other pans or pots we have. In addition, the cooked vegetable retains its own natural sweetness. The skillets are also easy to clean.

It's truly the healthier way of cooking. On top of that, we save on the cooking oil as well as the gas.

These pans are terrific! Nothing sticks to them. The construction and materials are far superior to most of the pans I own. I would recommend them highly. HOWEVER, DON'T BUY THEM FROM SELLER BuyDBest!!! The pans arrived with no info on care or use so I tried numerous time to contact the seller and got ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE FROM THE SELLER AT ALL! Fortunately there was enough info on the internet about waterless cooking to get me started.

These are standard cheap coated teflon pans. A little disappointing for being Farberware. Two pans for 25 bucks, you get what you pay for. They'll do the job and for the price you can't miss. After a couple of years they will wear out like similar pans. But don't think you're getting top of the line cookware. The first egg I cooked in the 8.5 stuck slightly. The teflon finish was rougher than I expected. I have other cheap teflon coated pans that have a smoother finish and they are better than these. Also, the angle of the edge is not conducive to flipping fried eggs. I would not buy these again, I don't recommend them, but they will serve their purpose.

It is so very hard to find decent pans to cook with these days. Most are made cheaply and stick or burn everything. Not these pans. these are high quality pans. I bought these pans to try first after buying a whole set of other brand pans from somewhere else that was a disaster. These pans are heavy and made of superior materials. The nonstick finish says it is metal safe and it really is. I've never had pans with this type of nonstick in them and I absolutely love them. No more scratches on my good pans from the kids using the wrong utensils to cook with.

They are also oven safe to 500 degrees. Which makes these pans very versatile. I will be looking for a complete set of this line. Well worth every penny and as with all of my other Farberware purchases will last a long time. I have a roasting pan that I use almost every day for just about everything.I bought it in 1987. Now a days pans don't last 6 months let alone 26years! After the last fiasco with other pans I'm sticking with Farberware.

Honest reviews on Farberware Millennium Stainless Steel Tulip Series 8-1/2

They weren't listed as seconds, but the handle of one pan looked like it had been scraped up and recoated, and there were rough burs on the end of the handle. Yes, the pan will work fine. But it's not attractive. The other pan handle was fine.

The angle at which the handle is attached to the pan is tight. not enough to seal things out, but too narrow to easily clean. It is rivetted against the pan, then curves up and out. The part where it goes up, before it bends out, is where it goes up against the pan but not quite. I anticipate this will turn gross in time.

Also, the shape is not idea. Instead of a curve from the base up the walls, it is flat, then slants up. This makes it not great for flipping something with a flick of the wrist. Loose things will be tossed fine, but if you are flipping something like a crispy scallion pancake, it's not a great shape.

The 'metal guard' claim is a farce. The teflon began flaking off the first month and is getting steadily worse, making cooking a health hazard. We did not abuse these pans and the non stick coating is not holding up. Not very tough at all. I can not recommend this product.

This is my second T-Fal purchase; it is very hard to sift through all the different models of pans even within the T-Fal offerings, this Professional series is the one. The bottom has good weight and the high sides make it easier to load the pan with a families' worth of ingredients. The glass cover is very sturdy and much nicer than a metal lid. Overall this is the pan, I would like to find this same configuration in an 8 in size. Ordered through Amazon, came from a different vendor but without issues or delay.

"Oven safe to 450-degree" ----it is the original words from the package that I received.

It makes this pan even better. :)

Best Deals for T-fal E9389784 Professional Nonstick Oven Safe Dishwasher Safe

I accept the fact that I will buy and use nonstick frying pans that will lose their nonstick quality after a year or two and that I will (unhappily) continue to use them for another year before replacing them. It's what I've always done and I have no reason to expect that pattern to change.

I replaced a much lower quality Ikea pan with the T-fal E9389764 Professional 10" deep saute pan. T-fal makes a their cookware in several levels of quality and I specifically chose the T-fal "professional" model after reading reviews of this and other models. The Professional model has a very heavy bottom and solid sides and handle.

The pan I received is not flat. I put a steel straightedge on the bottom and measured a gap of a little over 1/16" at the center. This doesn't really matter to me for 2 reasons: first, I cook on a gas stove and second, I don't care that oil in the pan will migrate to the outer edge, mainly because it's nonstick and I use very little oil or butter with it. Obviously, some people will find this to be a problem, but it isn't for me. The flatness of this pan is not a fluke; I also bought a T-fal E9380864 Professional Total Nonstick Oven Safe Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator 12.5-Inch Fry Pan/Saute Pan Dishwasher Safe Cookware, Black and it has exactly the same flatness issue.

T-fal makes several recommendations about using this nonstick cookware: season it with a little oil before use; don't overheat the pan; don't heat it without something in the pan; allow the pan to cool before washing; do not use abrasive pads to clean it and do not put it in the dishwasher. I am following all of these recommendations to the letter. I have been using this pan for about a month and it remains very slippery, probably better than any nonstick I have used before. I have no idea how long the nonstick quality will last, but I will update the review in the future.

Pro: very slippery nonstick surface; professional model feels very solid; very reasonable price for the quality of the product

Con: not flat

Honest reviews on T-fal E9389784 Professional Nonstick Oven Safe Dishwasher Safe

This is a great pan. I cook with it every day. From eggs to sauce to stir-fry, etc and it stays non-stick and wicked easy to clean. In many cases a rinse and a paper towel is all it takes. The 12" is too big though. I shoulda bought the 10" pan instead. Size matters. ;)

I spent hours researching what non-stick skillet to buy, and I'm so glad I settled on this one. I've owned it for a while now, and it's held up great. I only hand wash it, but ANYTHING I cook in it washes right out -no soaking or scrubbing stuck-on egg or burnt-on cheese or sticky grease. I am so pleased. The one criticism I have is that the center circle doesn't seem to do anything -I'm not sure what the point of that is. But it cooks nice and evenly and is a cinch to clean, so I'm a happy lady!

Anyone that's ever been to a Mexican-themed restaurant knows exactly what this item is. This particular one is fairly large and will hold my home-made 8" tortillas nicely. With a damp washcloth (folded twice) and a layer of wax paper on the bottom it will easily hold a dozen home-made 8" tortillas. To reheat tortillas just place the container with the washcloth, wax paper and tortillas into a microwave for 30 seconds to two minutes. (Amount of time depends on: number of tortillas, how cold the whole container is to begin with, and dampness of the washcloth.) Also keeps my tortillas in the refrigerator nicely for a surprisingly-long amount of time.

This thing is good at keeping tortillas warm, but it's not deep enough for a batch of homemade tortillas. It will hold two 10 packs of store-bought tortillas that are thin, but the homemade tortillas, which I can never get as thin as store-bought, keep the lid ajar. The container is deep enough, but the bottom of the lid has a "dip" in it that presses against the tortillas and keeps the lid from closing tightly. What a shame. I guess I'll be purchasing the larger warmer.

With tortillas getting expensive AND being filled with hydrogenated vegetable oils, I finally found a SOFT tortilla recipe that I can easily roll out with a rolling pin. It's 3 cups of self-rising flour, 1 cup of warm milk and 5 tablespoons of olive oil. Mix it into a ball by hand or in a food processor. I don't even have to let them sit for 20 minutes. Just divide into 12 balls, lay a damp paper towel over them as you roll each out (roll from the center out) and then cook for about 30 seconds per side in a skillet. Other tortilla recipes were difficult to roll out and tasted hard like crackers.

This product does what it says....Warms your tortillas. It may not be the most attractive design but it does what it is intended to do. For the price and the performance...why spend more on a fancy schmancy one?

Honest reviews on IMUSA MEXI-1000-TORTW Tortilla Warmer Microwave Safe Base BPA-Free

There are already several reviews which point out the advantages of this product. It keeps your freshly made tortillas warm at the table and lets you reheat the leftovers in the microwave if you have them later. Just include a wet cloth or paper towel to make some steam so that they don't dry out when they're reheated.

Several reviews have complained about the packaging and the difficulty of getting the glue from the label off the outside of the tortilla warmer once the label is removed.

I just bought one of these here at Amazon, and the good news is that in addition to being useful in the ways already noted, the label was not glued on. The tortilla warmer I received came packaged in a cardboard sleeve which simply slid off. Great!

Great product, made in China like everything else, but what's up with the adhesive label covering half of one side. Tried soaking it in hot water, dish detergent, used the back end of a butter knife but NOTHING gets that label off without leaving an adhesice mess behind. Even using Goo Gone (a citrus solvent) it took a good five minutes of aggressive peeling and fingernail work to get it cleaned up. This was completely UNECESSARY! Wake up, Imusa, get a sticker that peels off please!

I love All-Clad and had wanted a double boiler set with a ceramic (not stainless) insert. This arrived quickly and in pristine condition ... carefully packaged, complete with a cloth cover for the pan. I've used it once to make custard. Turned out great BUT I realize the ceramic insert does such a good job of keeping the heat down, that it took me longer to make than I'm used to (took longer to thicken as ceramic doesn't get as hot as steel).

Having said that, this is a great buy and I'm so glad I found it. Will do wonders for ensuring I don't ruin sauces by overheating.

Love it. Well worth the purchase.

Pro: high quality and manufactured in USA. Very happy with performance of porcelain boiler; little water loss during double boiling at med-high temp.

Con: Expensive; no water-level mark on sauce pan for double boiler use but 3 cups of water is just right.

Best Deals for All-Clad 42025 Stainless Steel 3-Ply Bonded Dishwasher Safe 2-Quart

I had another double boiler before this, but got an induction cooktop and that one was incompatible. This is excellent quality. It actually takes longer to cook the custard I think because the thick porcelain is providing such protection.

Honest reviews on All-Clad 42025 Stainless Steel 3-Ply Bonded Dishwasher Safe 2-Quart

I've been wanting a double boiler for quite some time and finally took the plungeI'm not disappointed. The piece is in beautiful condition and came carefully packaged. The wall of the stainless steel base and the porcelain insert are both very thickeven the lid is heavy! The handles are solid and riveted to the body of the panvery solid construction.

I was hemming and hawing over the price ($180 for the porcelain double boiler vs. $50 for an average stainless steel double boiler) but I'm really glad I invested in the porcelain. I use it mostly for ganache bases and custards. It does take a lot longer to melt chocolate in this than a regular pan or even a glass bowl set in boiling water (which is what I used to do) but it's gentler and gives you better results. The risk of over heating and curdling custard is also lower because everything is slowed down a bit thanks to the insulation value of the porcelain.

Even though this is a great product and cheaper than the $255 Williams-Sonoma advertises for the same product, consider the use value carefully. If you're only needing a double boiler once or twice a year, you may be better off sticking to the old "glass-bowl-in-a-pan-of-boiling-water" method.

Some time ago, I decided to stop using these expensive filters. I already have a Brita charcoal activated filter and use that filtered water directly into my Cuisinart. No problem and very good coffee. When I was using the small Cuisinart filters, I experienced a lot of problems with slow water feed resulting in steam and other problems. I decided, after spending some $16 on filters over a period of a year, that I was just wasting money on these filters. I cleaned the coffee maker after I stopped using the filters, am getting excellent coffee and no more slow water feed and a fine running coffee maker. The coffee tastes as good or better. But, please note that I am using filtered water just not filtering it in the coffee maker.

This year, I found that the filter serves another purpose which is to prevent the occasional overflowed coffee ground from clogging the feed line and preventing all of the water to pass through the filter so you end up with less cups of coffee output compared to cups of water input. With pure water, the filter will last a long time. The root cause of the slow water feed in the paragraph above turned out to be a clogged valve in the feed line.

It is very important when using this coffee maker to have the right grind size. Excessive number of fines can lead to clogging.

I purchased these filters from Amazon and am very happy with them. I really noticed an improved taste in my coffee. I think this is a great investment to help maintain the taste of the coffee and increase the lifespan of your coffee maker by reducing build-up from water minerals.

Best Deals for Cuisinart DCC-RWF1 Replacement Coffeemaker Water

I live in Seoul, South Korea, where it is inadvisable to drink water directly from the tap. Unless, that is, your idea of a good time is to let a little amoebic dysentery cozy up and get friendly with your colon.

Okay, so, the water isn't ALWAYS that scary to drink. Just, uh, just most of the time.

Even when the water doesn't make you sick, it usually tastes like it's been funneled through an old radiator. Coffeemakers, generally speaking, don't include water filters because the brewing process ostensibly kills all of the harmful bacteria. But you can still taste the heavy-metal-goodness in every last drop of leaden java. Lip smacking!

Anyhoo, I purchased a Cuisinart Coffeemaker recently (oh, how I love that machine), and it came with a package of these little filter fellows, and let me tell you, they do the trick. Gone are the filamental-flavors, the taste of scalded electrical wire! All that's left is pure watery goodness, the clean, crisp clarity of two spic-n-span H's and one well-scrubbed O. Now, if this little wunder-filter can do THAT for the brackish dreck that passes for water in Seoul, imagine how much more effective it would be on YOUR water!

Uh. Assuming you also do not live in Seoul. Or, er, Mexico. And parts of Bangladesh. And most of Haiti. And also, maybe, Djibouti. (Although I think Djibouti's been getting its act together with the public water works system these days, thanks to macro-economic reform programs. See the comments section below.)

NOTE: Some elements of the above review may have been exagerrated in order to titillate easily-titillated readers. Readers with tender sensibilities should not have read the previous review.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart DCC-RWF1 Replacement Coffeemaker Water

Purchasing this three-pack gives great value. Purchasing online also eliminates trying to find this product, since it is not routinely stocked where one would normally purchase the coffee maker itself.

Does a good job at improving the taste of the coffee, but more importantly to me is it also filters out coffee grinds that may accidently spill into the water chamber... a nice plus! Change the filter regularly and it will also extend the life of the coffee maker.

I love this pan and the fact that it can be used for induction or regular cooktop cooking is super. I have an individual induction burner. This pan was just the right size for cooking small amounts and the strainer lid is great with the small and large holes on each side for draining. This also was a great value. Cannot go wrong buying this product.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

This is an excellent pan and the drainage works perfectly. Yet the handle design is terrible and makes tipping it especially difficult if the pan is 2/3 or more filled. I even considered returning it but decided this would be too much trouble as I am strong enough to muscle it when I need to do so.

Best Deals for Infinite 2-qt. Saucepan with Lid

I ordered this product to replace a dishwasher-safe, non-stick pot with a straining lid we owned for a while. My main complaint is that the lid handle is not heat resistant (minus one star point). You'd think with a straining lid they would have given a little more thought to the fact that the lid will be used more than on other pots, so it should be heat resistant. I had to use a pot holder while handling the lid to strain the water out of it. While it is an attractive pot, the handle of the pot should also be larger in diameter for better comfort if you have larger hands or arthritis(minus one star point).

If you are looking for some good cookware, this is the ticket. I keep looking for more in this line. Really great nonstick and awesome for induction cooking.

This is very high quality pan!! Perfect for induction burner, great nonstick. The lid handle can get hot, but I expected that. When straining u have to hold lid. When u pick it up that's what u feel (quality)!! Very nice appearance arrived perfect, this is only piece in my set that was purchased new! Others were like new, which I've bought a lot of. I purchased all the pans available, without purchasing the full set. This worked out for me. These pans heat very evenly on Nuwave PIC, though burner is only 1300 watts these pans spread heat to out side edge of pan. U can probably tell I love it!!

There's bad news and (sort of) good news on this item, the "Mauviel M'Heritage 2.5 mm 16-by-12 inch rectangular roasting pan." I purchased this through Amazon, and when the pan arrived, I could immediately tell there was a problem: not NEARLY heavy enough. My wife and I have a lot of older Mauviel professional cookware (2.5 mm), and it was clear that this wasn't the same stuff. I went to the trouble of measuring the pan thickness with a Starrett micrometer, and found it to be 1.15 mm, less than 1/2 the advertised thickness. Looking at the product number supplied with the pan (6509.41), and doing some research on the web , it turns out that this pan is from the Mauviel 150 series instead of the 250 series; that is, it should be more like 1.5 mm than 2.5 mm. Most vendors who sell it do so for about $400, which is reasonable; however the price I paid (thinking I was getting the thicker copper) was an unreasonable $509. I suspect that Amazon was misinformed on this one by their vendor (they can't check every detail).

The good news on this? Amazon was exemplary with respect to the return: they paid the return shipping costs and gave me a full refund. And, they dropped the price of the pan on their site from $509 down to $400 (though the pan is still being erroneously described as 2.5 mm thick). With the new price, this pan would be well worth considering: I'm sure it's very good, and for the copper/stainless steel combination the $400 price is reasonable (it's just that the original $509 wasn't). If the item had been correctly described as the 150 series Mauviel and sold for $400, I likely would have given it a 4-5 star rating. As it is, I'm giving it a 3 star, for inaccurate description, and because even if it were described as the 150 series, the copper would only be 75% what you'd expect (1.15 vs 1.5 mm). Amazon service gets a 5.

This is a very cute frying pan, but I highly suggest you look at the details because in the picture the product came out big, but it's actually a very mini frying pan. Also, the edges are sharp and can scrape you if you are not careful.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program

When reviewing a set of cookware like this I always try to imagine who it was designed for and not to let my own personal preferences and biases effect how I judge the set. Having said that, I think that this is a great set for the casual (or reluctant) cook. Also, for those on a budget, newlyweds, first time home owners, etc. I am going to use this set in a summer/vacation home. I really like the assortment of pots, pans and skillets in this set so I thought that a video review might be helpful. Thank you.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Upon initial inspection, all of the pots, pans, and lids/ covers were all neatly packed in cardboard and heavy plastic bags with the product's information and care instructions within one of the pots. All seemed to be well made and attractive looking with contrasting orange, rubber handles. I was glad to see that the handles were bolted on, as my old pots and pans have handles held onto the cookware with screws, which occasionally need to be tightened, an annoyance. This set lacked a large 12 or 14 inch skillet similar to the small 8 inch and medium 10 inch ones. The large 4.5 quart sauté pan was deep and wouldn't be ideal, for say, pancakes. The 8 and 10 inch skillets are too small for cooking a meal for my family. The second to largest pot appeared to have two minor imperfections in the non-stick surface finish inside, and at the bottom of the pot. I attempted to scratch whatever this was off with a wooden spoon first, and then with my fingernail, and finally with soap, water, and an abrasive plastic cleaning pad, all without success.

For the first meal, I decided to cook an old, reliable staple that everyone cooks pasta. A dish touted in this product's description on the Rachel Ray website. I cleaned the largest pot and lid for the pasta, and the large sauté pan and lid for the sauce. Incidentally, the largest pot and sauté pan share the same lid size, and are interchangeable. A nice feature. After I had cleaned and dried them, the cooking surfaces appear to remain slick, and I filled the large pot halfway with water. After it cooked, I really wished it had a pouring spout or a top to strain out the remaining liquid.

While I've owned non-stick cookware before, I was still surprised to read that these pots and pans are not intended to be used on high heat; the layers this cookware is made with can unravel over time. The care instructions recommend low to medium heat always. Although the lids are clear glass, they do steam up easily.

The next morning, I decided to make a fried egg for breakfast. Knowing the care instructions warnings against non-stick sprays, butter, olive oil, etc. I trusted this non-stick cookware to do just that. Not stick. I cracked an egg in the small 8 inch skillet on medium heat and away we went. After turning white, and not to my surprise, the egg did indeed stick, and very much so. I could not flip it, and ended up unintentionally breaking the yoke. It wasn't fun to eat, and the pan wasn't fun to clean.

So overall, I'm not sold on this set as I can see a few things I would want improved upon. It's just average...nothing I'd brag about but certainly better than some sets I've used.

Honest reviews on Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 14-Piece

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I don't know who Rachel Ray is, so this is just a review of the product. To say this set is easy to clean would be an understatement. I dare you to get anything stuck to these pans! This is a great set for someone just starting out or for replacing old cookware. You can tell the company thinks highly of the product just by its meticulous packaging; you will as well once you use it. You can't help but want to use it when you take it out of the package and feel the weight in your hand. We've made pretty much all the staple foods at our house in this set, and it's great for all your everyday cooking needs. I'm not crazy about the orange handles, but they are definitely easy to find in a dark cabinet, and you may like the orange more than you think. I love that some of the lids have release holes for steam; I don't know why they didn't just add that to all of them. I guess there are some gourmet chefs out there who could find a million things wrong with them, but as someone who has had multiple kitchen disasters (including destroying 3 crock pots), this has been a great product that actually helped me cook more and better. I'll probably never make a big holiday dinner, but this cooking set got me interested in cooking for the first time, so it's pretty miraculous in that respect. I think most people will be very happy with this set, and will use it for years to come.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program How well do these cook my meals?

Since I usually use my Cuisinart high-pressure cooker to cook everything under the sun, I was intrigued to see how well these performed compared to my usual staple kitchen item. I have to say, cooking bacon and eggs was pretty quick. The heat flows fast and pretty much evenly.

What is the construction like?

It's not cast-iron, so you will need to be somewhat careful with it in regards to tossing it into your cookware pantry. However, the handles and lids are of high quality, so I don't have to worry about those breaking or coming loose.

How non-stick are they?

It's pretty good. I mean, I always cook with a bit of coconut or olive oil, more less for flavor than to prevent sticking. However, when I fried an egg in smaller skillet, none of the egg stuck to the pan.

What is clean-up like?

As noted in the non-stick category, clean-up is easy as can be. The most effort you are going to need in cleanup are the lids and the rivets used to adhere the handles. Other than than, the cooking surfaces and sides require only the soft side of a sponge to get most of the food removed. (Granted, I'm saying this from the perspective that you wash your cookware right after you cook, and never let the food settle in the pans.)

The ergonomically designed handle is larger and easier to grip than a conventional round knob. It automatically orients the location of the vent hole away from the cook's wrist to prevent accidental scalding from escaping steam. The inner flange of the stainless steel rim measures exactly 7-13/16" to nest nicely inside a conventional 8" pot. The handle is screwed directly to the lid without any intervening washer or adapter, therefore keeping the lid top easier to clean and with an elegant minimalist contemporary design.

I have had the Ozeri 8" Green Earth Frying Pan for a couple of months now, and received the matching lid about a month ago. Prior to having the lid, I was using the pan for scrambled eggs, omelets, and other cooking that I didn't need a lid for. When cooking chops, and putting it in the oven, I had to cover it with aluminum foil.

Now that I have the lid I can cook ground beef, and onions, for a Shepherd's pie. I also use the pan for making my favorite dish, which is an Indian curry.

The lid is tempered glass, and has a really neat vent area, for allowing the steam to come out. It is silver in color, the same as the rim of the lid, and has a hole in the middle, with 4 smaller ones around the outside of it. The lid fits perfecting into the Green Earth Frying Pan.

Now when I am cooking my pork chops, I can sear then in the pan, and transfer the pan, and lid, into the oven. As long as I keep the temperature down to 392 F or below, it is ovenproof. I normally cook my chops at 325 F.

When using the lid, the black handle/knob, which is on the top, stays cool, making for easy cooking.

I can watch my food cooking through the clear glass lid. Before I would have to check my food, by taking off the lid, to ensure it didn't run dry.

I always wash my pots and pans by hand. However, this lid is suitable to go into the dishwasher.

I was sent the 8" Green Earth Frying Pan Lid, by Ozeri for my personal use. I was under no contract, or obligation to write a review, or to write a favorable one if I chose to write one.

This is a glass lid with a metal edge installed which forms the lip to correctly fit the pan. It has a small vent installed in the glass.

The noted design problem is that there is a narrow space between the glass and the lip where the lip steps in to be the correct diameter to fit the pan. Any food that gets into the narrow area between lid glass and lip is difficult to remove, at least with hand washing. If not removed this could become a health hazard. IMO the lid would be better if all glass construction at the edges or if the glass was smaller in diameter so that the metal edge did not include the step-in and resulting narrow food trapping gap. As is the lid works fine but is a PITA to clean thoroughly, particularly if there has been any boil over or splatter into the noted gap area.

This also applies to the 12" lid which I have and presumably to the 10" size too.

Honest reviews on Ozeri ZP-20GL Green Earth Frying Pan Lid, 8-Inch

The lid fits the 8 inch Green Earth frying pan perfectly (I'm writing a separate review for this) and is very sturdy, as well as easy to clean. It sounds silly, but the whole pan and lid set looks so stylish that I keep it on my stove at all times, along with a beautiful red dutch oven. Aside from the fit, I like that the handle is very sturdy and stays cool (being sufficiently far away from the glass) making it easy to take the lid off with one hand, while stirring with the other. I have used lids before where the handle is either heat-conductive, or it is too close to the lid which heats up so it requires a quick touch or using a pot holder. Anywho, definitely would recommend the product.

Great lid. Fits my T-Fal pot like it was made for it. This lid has a slight inward taper on the rim so that it will fit almost any 8 inch pot or pan just like factory made, no matter what the brand. Ozeri got the lid to me ahead of schedule and I could not be happier with them or the lid. Buy it, you'll like it.
