I use mostly "wood" utensils in my cookware. I find the totally bamboo products to be very nicely made. They are very smooth and not at all porous as some can be. Washes very nicely. It does the job for which it was purchased. I am pleased.

Cheap Totally Bamboo 12-Inch Spoon
I ordered a 12, 14 and 16" spoon. They are well made and very nice, but BIG. One more size up, and I could use it as a paddle. Makes our home cookware look like toys (Cuisinart Pro).

I have been researching ceramic pans for about a month and this set caught my eye. Once I received them I could not wait to use them. The perform as advertised, you only have to use a limited amount of oil. Nothing sticks to these pans. My only advise is do not use high heat, for it will discolor the white finish.

We bought these in December, and by April/May they started to show signs of becoming less non-stick. Now July, and the large pan I will have to throw away. http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=127833 I will be getting these soon. Review of Jaccard Super 3 Meat Tenderizer
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $50.00
Sale Price: $25.90
Today's Bonus: 48% Off

This device works easily, quickly, and effectively. It does change the texture somewhat, but the trick is to not over tenderize. I made this mistake with some old frozen tough chuck. I pierced in all directions repeatedly; across, 90 degrees, a 45 degree angle going this way and that way and repeatedly; it stayed together, but it was more tender than meatloaf...not good. Twice over on each side and then twice again at a 90 degree angle is about right for typical chuck. Perhaps an extra pass if especially tough.
Great for crock pot dishes with chicken breast...once over each side and once again at 90 degrees and the breast is moist; the gravy/juice penetrates...mmmm.
This is one of those kitchen aids that is not just a gadget. If you love the flavor of chuck (or any tough meat) but want to avoid chemical tenderizers, get the jaccard instead: it does a MUCH better job without chemicals. And if you like to use a lot of seasoning, piercing the meat gets the seasoning from atop the meat and into the meat. Great invention. Well worth the price. Built well.
Note: Instructions say to go over the meat 4 or 5 times. NOT for 4 or 5 minutes! 4 or 5 times takes 30 seconds or less.
Why I love this:
1. Works for all ages and levels of cooking expertise. Safe to use.
2 Very, very easy to use. Simply press down on the top and the sharp blades cut through the toughest sinews of your particular cut of meat. It takes very little energy to press down on this, so even eldery cooks or those with arthritis could handle this.
3. Allows MAXIMUM penetration of tenderizers. No other tenderizer has done as well.
4. The best tenderizer I've used.
5. Easy to store, wit a protective cover to prevent any accidental cuts or harm from the blade.
6. Allows you to save money, making less tender cuts of meat come out as tender as more expensive ones.
Now, a personal opinion. If you ARE going to tenderize your meat, please avoid adding salt to your marinade if you can avoid it. I think it draws out the juices and makes for a less flavorful and tender cut of meat. If you want your meat to be salty, just add it after your first bite, adjusting to your taste.
Also, please let the meat rest for a good 5 minutes after you take it from the oven. If you cut it before then, you may have one good slice of meat (the first one) but the juices will flow out and the rest of the pieces will be less tender. So let the meat sit and let the juices settle a bit. You'll be glad you did.

Wonderful. Tired of cleaning the splatters of blood and meat bits from the tile behind your kitchen counter? Throw that tenderizing hammer in the garage tool box and use this superb gadget instead. Never had chicken or beef that was better than this item produces. 30 seconds and you are done. Beef or chicken cooks clean through even on the grill in half the time. Marinade really penetrates well.Note: Instructions say to go over the meat 4 or 5 times. NOT for 4 or 5 minutes! 4 or 5 times takes 30 seconds or less.

Amazing what this little gadget can do for tenderizing a cut of meat. Forget pounding unless the recipe calls for it. Discount Artisan Metal Works Silicone Non-Stick Baking Mat Sets
It works great for cooking and baking! A reusable substitute for wax and parchment paper. I recommend reading the instructions and details that come on the package. You don't need to oil or spray down before putting food on it. I sometimes sprinkle flour first if I'm baking something like pizza or bread on the surface. Just place food on the mat on a tray, and pop it in the oven. Don't exceed the temperature range, don't scrub it with the back side of a sponge, and don't cut on it in fact, avoid using anything near it that could potentially cut it, because once it's cut you can't use it anymore.
I am pleasantly surprised that it has not blackened like all other mats do and that the quality has remained the same since I bought it (probably used them about 30 times in the oven since). I also use it for rolling out dough and fondant Not an ideal surface, because it gets sticky, but at least it's cleaner than using my kitchen countertop. I have yet to try it with chocolate and candy making, but I'll update once I have.
3 Month update: Still awesome, I use these about twice a week. The only thing that's stained has been a tomato-oil sauce. I have now tried the mats w candy making (ie, pipe melted chocolate on it, and throw it in the fridge or freezer), and it worked really well. Only problem is if you're gonna roll up the mat to make a curved 3D piece, note the candy/chocolate will stick to both sides and you'll need parchment paper on one side. Alternatively, potentially try corn starch to avoid sticking? I have yet to try this technique.
After using these a couple times, all I can say is wow, I am sold on silicone bake ware.
The non-stick-ability of these silicone mats is top notch. The first thing I cooked with them is a homemade pizza. The pizza and any misplaced toppings (such as cheese, which usually bakes on as a brown/black cement when it touches a metal pan) did not stick to the silicone at all. The pizza literally slid around on the mat a little as I was taking it out of the oven. I was thoroughly impressed with how well it worked.
There was a slight chemical smell the first time I used the mats. I expected this. It did not affect the smell or the flavor of the food that cooked on it and was not over powering. If you are worried about this affecting your food, I would bake the mat by itself in the oven for like half an hour to an hour.
This product can hold on to grease a bit. I baked bacon on one of the mats, and mat felt slightly greasy/oily until after a couple more baking/handwash cycles. I almost consider this a bonus as bacon is awesome, and I would like to think that the greasy feeling flavored foods cooked on it flavored them with bacon. Sadly, I did not notice that all of my food tasted like bacon (0/5 stars, all food cooked on these mats does not taste like bacon :-P).
The product description does not give a temperature rating, but if you contact the manufacturer, they will say 480F. As far as I can tell, this is the standard maximum temperature for silicone bake ware.
I bought the baking mat set with 2 baking sheets Nordic Ware Bakers Half Sheet, 13 by 18 by 1 Inch. The mat nearly fits the pan perfectly, and as best as I could expect it to, with the products coming from different manufacturers. The mat is probably a couple millimeters longer than perfect and probably a half a centimeter too narrow from perfect.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and would recommend these to anyone seeking a better baking experience.

I have always hated greasing the pans, when baking, so, about five years ago, I purchased made in France, silicone baking sheets, from Amazon. This year, I decided that I needed two more sheets, but when I looked for them, the price had increased by almost double per sheet! Well, I kept looking and I found these wonderful sheets that are made in the U.S.A. They work just as well as the imported ones. Cookies never stick, and cleanup is so easy! In addition, they were a great price. A set of two costs less than one, of the imported sheets! This was a great buy and I recommend them highly!Best Deals for Artisan Metal Works Silicone Non-Stick Baking Mat Sets
I was wary of buying these because they look thin in the photo and I know my mother paid four times this price for two regular sized silicone mats. However they're very high quality and they work well. I'm very happy with them and I'll probably buy some more to give away as wedding/bridal shower gifts.Honest reviews on Artisan Metal Works Silicone Non-Stick Baking Mat Sets
Having known about silicone bake ware for years, but having never used it, I was skeptical about how well it would work as a non-stick material and as a way to reduce the long term wear and tear on baking sheets (lots of scrapping and scrubbing can be torturous on metal baking sheets after a couple years of use). I have purchased many non-stick baking sheets over the years, and have been extremely unhappy with them. None of them are really all that non-stick and the non-stick coating has always started flaking off after a year or two of use. After using these a couple times, all I can say is wow, I am sold on silicone bake ware.

Excellent for safely handling heavy cast iron. You can even use leave it on in the oven at lower temperatures. So glad I finally bought one of these. It fits on all my different size cast iron as well as my Le Creuset pots. The best part is that my husband can't set it on fire like he did with the fabric ones I've had in the past. I'm ordering a couple more so I don't have to keep moving the cover around.

It's hard to beat this item for convenience and functionality, and the molded case it comes in is handy for when not in use. I took one star off for two reasons: the first is that the fuel canisters are expensive and hard to find where I live; also when simmering at very low temps a good gust of wind can put the flame out. (I use it on the stern of a cabin cruiser even though I'm at anchor, my conditions might be windier than most users)Best Deals for Grillex GB-10K Portable Gas Burner

The stove worked fine for a while. Then, the butane wouldn't burn inconsistently followed by the canister not being able to be seated correctly. This evening the stove quit working completely. I purchased this November 21, 2012. I've used butane stoves for years as they're my main source for cooking so I know how to use them and what not to do. I'm sure that I received a defective item but I don't see this as the sellers fault. It happens. Take this with a grain of salt because you're more likely to get and I hope you get a decent product. I do not recommend this product to anybody. The whistle on this kettle is made out of cheap plastic. After around 2 weeks of use the whistle melted. This can possibly start a fire at your house if the melted plastic will come in contact with flammable materials. I used the kettle on a gas stove. You might be safe if you have an electric stove, since there is not that much heat radiated around the burner. However, this is defiantly a design flaw and I think the product should not be sold as it is not safe to use.
Visually it looks pretty bad with big burnt marks all over the sides.
When the time comes to buy a new one it will not be this one.

I was looking for a heavy pot to cook my marinara sauce in one that wouldn't scorch so easily on the bottom. I make a huge pot of marinara sauce twice a month and I was tired of scorching the bottom and trying to salvage unburnt sauce into another pot, which really never works because the scorched taste is still there. Maybe I am not attentive enough, but this happens regularly with all my other pots, Calphalon, Cuisinart, Farberware, etc. I can't use my Lodge cast iron because it is not big enough for the amount of sauce I want to make. Since All-Clad is so expensive, I decided to try Cuisinox. OMG! I love it! It is heavy, heavy, heavy really substantial and my sauce doesn't burn. Mind you, you cannot walk away for 20 minutes while the sauce boils, but with a reasonable amount of attention, this pot gets the job done. I then purchased a Cuisinox Elite 7.8 Quart Covered Dutch Oven, and this weekend, I cooked beef burgundy in it to perfection! Cuisinox is a Canadian company and they explained that their Elite line is thick 3-ply stainless steel on the bottom AND the sides of each pot, whereas their Gourmet line is only 3-ply on the bottom. So, stick with the Elite line and you will a heavy stainless still pot that rivals any other top of the line cookware.

Reviews of Nuwave PIC2 - NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop 2 with Grill
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $189.99
Sale Price: $119.99

Do a search here at Amazon, see how many times the PIC is listed and read the reviews on ALL of them
I'm on my second PIC and have had it a little over a month and the thermostat is messing up. hot, hot, burn then down, down, down sitting on a cold pan. I don't EVER want to talk to anyone there again. If I stand there and keep adjusting the heat I can get meal. Don't trust it for melting chocolate or making yogurt. My fried chicken sat in cold grease, till I turned it up, then down, then up. Buy a different brand. I have a commercial cooking background and know how to cook on induction. This is a bad product.
My PIC over heated enough to separate the enamel from my dutch oven. They agreed to replace, then put a hold order on the replacement without notice to me. I called 5 times and it seems that notes are not accumulated in one area of the software they use, I had to go over the same thing every time. I finally got a "Shipped Out" phone call 24 days after the initial call. By then I was outraged and said so and wanted recompense for my dutch oven, time and inconvenience. I was offered an 11pc cooking set, which included a dutch oven for shipping only. I agreed and was charges $69.99. I know they inflate shipping, so when I verified I was NOT being charged for the set, I was reassured this was shipping ONLY (I know but that's them). My trust at this point is nil, so I go online...no such thing as an 11pc set. closest is a 10 pc Ultimate NO DUTCH OVEN, priced at $69.99 + $29.99 shipping. Now I start the call backs to get a supervisor, dropped calls, delays because the notes can't be found same old stuff. After 2 hours on the phone my satisfaction was the $69,99 order was cancelled. But to this day I do not have a replacement PIC and my burnt out $119 dutch oven is a doorstop. If you have the NuWave PIC, don't turn your back on it, it will over heat, or leave your food sitting cold. But it could burn more that just a pot as mine did. And don't expect NuWave "Main Office" to care. Induction cooking is great, there are other induction cook tops...no need to buy NuWave. I have filed a complaint with BBB and found that BBB has a Business rating. NuWave id not accredited by BBB and has an "F" rating.
April 21....They did NOT reverse the credit Card on March 28 as promised, I found out when I got my bill.
I called to replace defective PIC March 11th...got replacement on April 15th. My Credit card was reversed the $69.95 for the un-ordered cookware on April 17th...NONE of this would have worked in my favor but for "Reporting them to BBB" who handled the replacement of the PIC and my Credit Card reversal. I'm still out my burnt up $119 enamile Dutch Oven. I watch the new PIC like a hawk. Remember BBB gives this company an F grade.

I was going to order this product from you, but, after a bad experience with a Montel Blender I purchased and returned. I decided to investigate your product on Amazon and Google.
I have read all the reviews on Amazon on your product and was very glad I did. It is very evident you have quality control problems with your product. Not only that, it appears your customer service dept. needs improving a great deal, plus complaints of overcharging on shipping.

I was also surprised to find you have a F rating from the BBB and you have done nothing to correct this situation, this was enough to convince me to stay away from your NuWave Induction Grill. I am a buyer and purchase thousands of dollars of products every year. It is really to bad customers have to be treated this way and you seem to not want to do anything to correct your problems. I believe in 0 tolerance when it comes to customer service and quality control.
It was important for me to write to you, inform that you have lost a client and I am sure others as well, when I post my findings to others. You have the power and opportunity to resolve all the issues, by taking action and correcting your quality control, over priced shipping and customer service complaints. By doing nothing re-assures myself that my statements are correct and everyone should be aware to stay away from NuWave Pic2 Induction Cooktop.
I do hope you will do something to correct all of the problems from the complaints you have had on your Nuwave Cooktop. Don't forget about your standings with the BBB, these obviously need serious attention and many buyers rely on these ratings.
Sincerely

From Amazon this is a great deal... I got 2 cooktops and the grill for under $200. If You go to TV.. that would have been over $400... which comes with 2 sets of free cookware that cost an arm and leg to ship... It's a ripoff... Amazon I thank you so much for your great deals.Best Deals for Nuwave PIC2 - NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop 2 with Grill
ordered from amazon, no local stores carried, arrived as sched and came with all accessories as stated, first time using it, would not work below 350-360 degrees, had to turn it on and off to not burn what I was cooking. looked around online for similar concerns, found nothing. looked at videos to see if anyone had done simple low temp tests and it worked for them. So I set some water in a small pot and set to 220 and set a timer for 5 min, didn't even get above room temp. tried at med temp, 275, same result. set it to 350 and heard it working and in less than 2 min I had boiling water.....Honest reviews on Nuwave PIC2 - NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop 2 with Grill

Saw commercial on tv decided to try it and I love this , easy to use and fast. Temp is always regulated, the only thing I would change is the cooking surface could be a little larger. But all in all it is great and use it almost every day.. I also have the grill pan and like burgers cook thourghly in just a few min. and stay quite moist not all dried out. It's great...Thank you Nuwave.....Saturday, July 26, 2014

I was a little nervous when I bought this skillet, since at the time there were no product reviews on it, but I was desperate, and since I had had good luck with other Cuisinart products, I took the chance. Am I glad I did! We were just beginning a major kitchen remodel, which meant that for at least two months I would have to improvise cooking facilities for 5 adults and a grandchild. This skillet has been a real workhorse for me, and a genuine lifesaver (and budget-saver) during the remodel. Its cost was no more than 2 dinners for my family at a moderate-cost restaurant, and I saved that much the first week by cooking those dinners at home in this skillet instead. Its large capacity makes it extremely versatile. I've used it to fry chicken, make one-pan dinners, cook bacon and eggs, frozen blintzes, pot roast, stir-fry meals, you name it. It makes a beautiful risotto, and I've even used it to cook corn on the cob and boil potatoes. Everything came out exactly as I'd hoped, or better. I am especially happy with the Cuisinart's solid, sturdy base that won't let the skillet tip over and endanger the cook (or the curious grandchild). I also love the sturdy nonstick surface, which after two months of frequent use is still like new, in contrast to some nonstick pans I've had where the coating scratches or wore off so quickly that by the 3rd or 4th use the food had to be chipped out. The temperature control responds very quickly, too. You can certainly buy a cheaper electric skillet, but if you use it frequently, a cheap pan will be trash in a short time and you may not be happy with the way it performs in that short lifetime. This Cuisinart is worth every penny, and I expect to be using mine for a long, long time.
Best of all, clean up is a breeze! I know the instructions say you can put it in the dishwasher, but I haven't even been tempted. A little dish soap, a little water and a swish with a dishcloth, rinse and dry and the clean up is done!
I wouldn't trade it.
*Update: I have now had this skillet for about 1 year. It still cooks great and cleans as easy as it did new. non-stick finish has been very durable, and the unite heats up nicely. It is nice and large so you can cook up a large amount of food at one time. This is nice when you are cooking for several people. When it is just me and my husband, I can cook the sausage and pancakes at the same time, then I only have one cleanup!
I do at times wish the cooking surface was more level. It seems to be a little lower around the edges. I assume that is on purpose to allow grease to drain.
My order was for a NEW unit from amazon.com (not a marketplace seller). Amazon customer service quickly created a new order for another unit at no charge to me and provided me with postage to return the refurb unit. I was assured that the replacement unit would be new. A week later, the replacement arrived and it also has 2 serial numbers and even worse defects in the non-stick coating (rough spots). I am now returning for a refund. Buyer beware. Check your serial number!

I have owned this electric skillet for several months. This is my first electric skillet. I know, shocking, after 25 years of marriage! I love this skillet, and can not believe I did not purchase one sooner. I have done eggs with cheese, fajita's, sausage, etc. Nothing has stuck! The meat browns nicely, the eggs don't stick, everything cooks evenly and as it should.Best of all, clean up is a breeze! I have only had my Cuisinart Electric Skillet for approx. two weeks, but have used it almost every day since receiving it! I love it! Very easy to clean, nothing sticks to it. I have fried chicken twice in it, and it did a wonderful job of it. The chicken fried evenly and got very brown and crusty but no burning. I have fried pork chops in it, and it was the same, cooked perfectly. I have found it fries bacon much better and more evenly than trying to do it on my stove and so much easier to clean up because it doesn't spatter as badly as cooking in a more shallow skillet. Plus, my stove top is smooth glass and frying on it is always messy and causes the grease to burn onto it and then has to be cleaned with special glasstop cleanser, so I don't make a mess on my stove when I use the skillet. I cooked hamburgers in it yesterday and they were delicious, browned on the outside but juicy inside. The best I have cooked in a long time. I cannot praise this skillet enough! I have been searching for a 16-in. electric skillet for the past year but every one that I would find listed on Amazon (which is the same selection, or even better selection) than I would find in a local department store, and as I always read customer reviews before I buy (I feel this is the best way to find out about any product before actually buying and using it, from people who have it and have used it) they all had some bad features, either in the design or workmanship, and in the case of Rival, not good customer service. So I stayed away from every brand that I read about for the 16 in. elec. skillets. Then, just recently, I was checking out the food network website and noticed this oval shaped one by Cuisinart that they offered, and though the price was the same as on amazon, I went with amazon because of the free shipping. I was also hoping that amazon would have a few customer reviews for me to read so I could see how others either liked or disliked the skillet, but alas, there were none! I guess it is too new yet to have many customer reviews. Though it is not quite the 16 inches that I was looking for, the 15"X12" size has proven to be just as good, it easily holds a whole chicken without crowding. The one inch differenc wasn't enough to stop me from buying it. I knew Cuisinart was a very good brand, so I trusted the name, and took a chance and I am so happy that I did. It is pure joy to cook in this skillet. I haven't even put it away since I have had it, as I use it almost every day, I just keep it sitting on the end of my counter in the kitchen, where I use it. The only criticism I could offer is the shortness of the cord, but I have found this is true with every electric skillet that I have looked at, and was true with my old one that I gave my daughter when I purchased this one. It seems you can't wear electric skillets out, as I had that one for about 25 years! But back to the short cord. I think it is a safety feature so that you won't get caught in the electric cord and pull the skillet off the counter or table and cause burns to yourself or damage the skillet. And thankfully, the cord is just long enough to reach the outlet on the down-side of my counter top without having to use an extension. If I used it close to a wall with a wall socket, it would reach even better. But since I don't have a lot of counter space and the counter top range takes up so much of my space, it is more convenient for me to have it at the end of the counter top. And it is worth every penny of the hundred dollar price! I highly recommend it.Honest reviews on Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric Skillet
I picked this out as a gift based on all of the positive reviews. The first unit arrived and looked OK at a glance. Upon closer inspection, I found some scratches on the exterior and weird spots in the non-stick surface. When I flipped the unit over, I found all of the model information is imprinted into the metal surface; including a serial number. That serial number had been covered up with a black mark and a second serial number has been printed below in black type. I confirmed with Cuisinart customer service that this indicates that the unit has been refurbished. My order was for a NEW unit from amazon.com (not a marketplace seller). During my 30 plus years of marriage, I have owned at least 5 electric skillets. When the last one broke, I decided to do some research and bought the Cuisinart 150. I was skeptical about the oval shape since all my others were rectanglar and I felt that those extra corners meant more room. However, the shape does not matter. In fact, since most foods are rounded, the oval is better. The Cuisinart 150 cooks evenly, there are no hot coil spots on my foods. It preheats quickly and cooks very quickly also. it also lies level on my counter which for some odd reason the others never did. I don't think I have ever been so happy with a kitchen appliance before. I use my skillet at least once a week, for chicken, eggplant or veal cutlets, as well as for beef stroganoff or other all-in-one-pan meals. I would give this product a perfect 10. It is worth the higher price because it is so well-built and does such a great job.
