I do not recommend this product to anybody. The whistle on this kettle is made out of cheap plastic. After around 2 weeks of use the whistle melted. This can possibly start a fire at your house if the melted plastic will come in contact with flammable materials. I used the kettle on a gas stove. You might be safe if you have an electric stove, since there is not that much heat radiated around the burner. However, this is defiantly a design flaw and I think the product should not be sold as it is not safe to use.

Mine developed burnt marks on the sides in under a month of daily usage (and no I never had the stove turned up to surpass the bottom of this pot.)Visually it looks pretty bad with big burnt marks all over the sides.
When the time comes to buy a new one it will not be this one.
