This little pan falls under that William Morris quote that says "have nothing in your houses that you know not to be useful or believe to be beautiful". In this case, Morris may have forgotten to mention expensive too, lol! Expensive with what *I* feel are fully justified reasons these pans are so well designed, they get consistently better results from my recipes and have thereby made me a better cook. I've had my Mauviel pieces for almost 10 years and I can say that they are truly built to last a lifetime.

Beautifully crafted in France; professional feel and finish.

Substantial weight, evenly balanced, rock-solid construction overall.

Thick bottoms, VERY even heating designed to brown not burn; PERFECT for recipes that require deglazing.

This particular size has been very useful as I've downsized; great for making sauces, gravies and reductions in smaller quantities. Makes reheating little portions of leftovers feel a little special! I should mention again that these are VERY HEAVY pans this smallest one is barely four inches across and weighs almost 2lbs. Even though I have pretty severe arthritis these pans get such great results that I still use them on a regular basis.

I've tried the various shapes and sizes with electric, gas and propane stoves, all with excellent results. They are also supposed to be the best with induction heat but I have not tried that method yet. If you ever burn anything, just place a cup of water in the pan and put it back on low heat for a few minutes; it will clean up with a regular nylon scrubbie-type sponge. I have burned things in these pans on occasion but never as the fault of the pan; because they are designed to deglaze so well I have NEVER had to use a "Brillo" or scouring pad on these to get them clean and shining again.

I've never really "babied" these pans; if I have the time and energy I wash them by hand, if not I throw them in the dishwasher. The only ill-effect I've noticed is that the cast iron handles get a bit of surface rust on them from being in the dishwasher. This can be removed with a scrubbie but IMO actually gives these a more "rustic" look which I happen to think is attractive. I don't think it could really hurt the handles either because they are very, VERY thick!

Because these pots are pricey I purchased a couple of carbon steel pans to round out my collection but as a semi-serious home cook I would not be without at least one or two of these in my kitchen. The only Mauviel pan I would not purchase again is the "non-stick" finish fry pan because in hindsight a nonstick finish doesn't ever last and is not necessary for now these pans works best. For the cook just starting out, if you can only choose one I'd recommend a three quart saucepan with lid; it can stand in for a frypan or saute pan and the size is very versatile.

Highly recommended!

This would be a great pot to subsitute for a dutch oven for a single person or couple because of it's smaller size. We are a family of 4 and it is the perfect size for side dishes like baked beans also. When you don't need the bigger 5 quart dutch oven, this pan gets the job done. As always, LOVE the pre-seansoning!

Despite being named a "serving pot", this is a functional Dutch oven.

Introductory note: I don't cook. I famously don't cook. I destroy kitchen equipment. I'm known for trying to make ramen and setting the water on fire. I was once boiling water for pasta when the bottom of the pan made a loud explodey noise and developed a new hole. Several friends won't allow me in or near their kitchens now.

I recently bought a slew of Lodge Logic stuff, after resigning myself to the fact that the price tag on my nice cookware, coupled with the knowledge that I explode or incinerate anything cooking-related that I touch, is going to forever intimidate me into leaving them unused in the cupboard. Cast iron, I thought, should be able to survive even me.

I did season my "pre-seasoned" pots, by warming them on the stovetop, wiping them down with Crisco, and stacking them in a 350-degree oven for an hour with a cookie sheet under them to catch drips. Every one of them has performed superbly since, handling everything I've thrown at them flawlessly. If you're a terrible cook -and I mean, water-catches-fire, pans-explode, dangerously terrible cook like me-give cast iron a try before you give up.

Crazy let's-see-if-this-works attempt one, modified from a much larger recipe: Set the oven preheating to 350. On a medium-low burner (about "three-and-a-half" on my electric range), cook about two inches of a roll of sausage in the pot. Peel and slice a potato while it cooks, while desultorily poking at the sausage occasionally to turn it and break it into clumps. The sausage should be nice and brown and done through before you scoop it out onto a paper towel to drain. After scooping out the sausage onto a paper towel, but leaving the sausage grease in the pan, spread the potato slices across the bottom. Stir and turn them for a few minutes, then spread them out into a single layer again and crumble the cooked sausage over them. Pour about half a small carton of egg substitute over the sausage and potatoes. Cover with grated Cheddar or sliced cheese-food-product. Put the lid on, bang the whole mess into the oven, and ignore it for a while. When your stomach rumbles, wander back to it and find a poofy, unhealthy, delicious mess of breakfast inside. This turned out so well I had three breakfasts in a row, at one sitting.

If you want to look like you know what you're doing, get some small, cute cookie cutters and cut out a few shapes from the cooked potato slices. Save these out and put them on top of the cheese during the oven phase. This makes the final dish look like you know what you're doing and spent hours at it. Total time actually working: 15 minutes.

Crazy let's-see-if-this-works attempt two, also modified from a larger recipe: Gather a 30-ish-ounce can of peaches in syrup, a cheap box of plain cake mix, some cinnamon, and some butter. Dump the can of peaches in the pot, with about half the syrup. Shake out half the box of cake mix on top at pat it out even with a spoon or spatula or something. Sprinkle cinnamon over that and put a few dollops of butter around the surface. Put the lid on, shove it in the oven, and turn the oven on to 350. (Forgetting about -I mean, choosing against! -preheating the oven lets the pot warm with the oven and prevents thermal shock.) After an hour or so (or however long it takes to watch the new episode of Doctor Who and forget about the cobbler completely), remember in a startled panic that "OH WHOOPS I HAVE FOOD IN THE OVEN!" and run to check on it. Chances are, the tantalizing smell of the cake mix baking together with the peach syrup was what reminded you of your food, and the cobbler is ready to serve. Present it to your guests as though you spent more than 5 minutes upending boxes, jars, and cans into an empty pot, and watch it disappear.

Thanks to cast iron, I might get the hang of this cooking thing after all.

More seriously, I have yet to make something in this pot that didn't come out delicious, and -I cannot emphasize this enough -*I can't cook*. I could theorize about how the even heating and lack of hot spots makes the pot act more the way inexperienced chefs expect a pot to act, or I could go on about the effects of starting on the stovetop and transferring the dish to the oven, or I could rhapsodize about the joys of a pot allergic to being washed that only needs wiping clean and a light coating of oil before storing it, but the gist is this: ANYONE can cook in cast iron. Even me. And for experimenting, or cooking for one or two people, this little skillet/saucepan/casserole-dish is an inexpensive (and thus far indestructible!) way to start.

Just... don't put it in the microwave. Stay away from the microwave, and you'll be fine.

This is a great pot -so great in fact that within a half hour of its delivery, I was ordering a second from Amazon.

Think of it as: a two quart Dutch Oven; an 8 inch wide, three inch (almost) tall skillet WITH LID; a braising pan for a couple of chicken breasts; a sauce pan; a casserole dish.

This is a lot of pot, especially for the price!

I'd given up on cast iron because I could never seem to get and keep the iron seasoned. But Lodge's new preseasoning solves my problem -I'm now replacing all my cookware with Lodge Logic (the fact it's an American company makes me even happier). THANKS, Lodge!

Honest reviews on Lodge L2SP3 Cast Iron Serving Pot, Black, 2-Quart

This is probably the cutiest and the least used cast iron cookware in my collection. If you need to cook anything which requires stirring, this one is too small. There is too little room to toss and turn the food around. It maybe fine for heating soups and beans etc. but then its an overkill to buy something for just heating stuff. I often find myself using the 3 quart chicken frier a lot. Even if you make smaller quantities of food, you still need some room to maneuver.

I love this pot so much that I just ordered 2 more. We put all our side dishes in this. The size is perfect. It has a nice weight, not too heavy to handle.

It comes pre-seasoned which is convenient. As always with Lodge, quality is great. Nothing sticks and cleanup is a breeze.

We are trying to convert all our cooking over to cast iron. Cast iron lasts forever, cleanup is easy, things don't stick and I feel it is so much safer than using something with Teflon or aluminum.

After watching so many cooking shows where they featured All-Clad stainless steel products (and needing a 3-quart saucier), I went ahead and splurged on this little number. And, I will never go back to aluminum cookery again. So far, I've used it for gravies, tomato sauces, cheese sauces, etc., and it's an absolute joy to use. It heats so evenly on my gas stove, even on low heat. And, the shape is an absolute must for whisking sauces. It's also very stable and well balanced, with no tipping issues due to the long handle, even when empty. And, cleanup is a breeze. This is well worth the price and will soon become your favorite pan in the kitchen.

When it is time to make a delicate sauce, this is the pan I use. I save this small pan for melting chocolate and cooking delicate sauces that normally require a double boiler. It has a heavy bottom for slow heat transfer and curved sides for whisking the contents.

I use heat in moderation and have never burned anything in my All-Clad pans.

All-Clad is a first class brand.

This pan works great for oatmeal, warming soup, and other small needs.

It cleans very well (get the Barkeepers for a great shine!)

I have had a lot of different brand name cookware, but none compares to All-Clad.

Honest reviews on All Clad Stainless Steel 3-Ply Bonded Dishwasher Safe Saucier Pan

This is a handy little pan, cooks well, easy to store, great size for quick small things and evaporates well for sauces. I use it frequently, but taking off 2 stars because the handle is too heavy for the pot which makes it tip over constantly. I suppose I could have taken off 1 star, but I'm trying to balance out the other reviews since no one else mentioned it and it really is a fairly annoying design mistake. Having said that, I'd buy it again, but just know what you're getting.

This a sexy little pan. The weight is impressive for such a small pan, evident of their 'Handcrafted in the USA' label. It seems All-Clad has always purchased steel from USA based companies and uses local manufacturing with the exception of very little outsourcing on 'non-bonded' items like utensils, etc.. So it is great to see a company still making the bulk of their products here!

We have a gas burning stove and this pan fits perfectly on the burner. I do, however, notice that when it is sitting on a flat surface and there is nothing in the pan, it can rock just slightly, so I am not sure how this would do on a flat surface stove. Other than that, it cooks very uniformly and feels great when holding it.

What I like most about this pot is that it has a copper bottom, sandwiched between two other layers of metal. I think that copper is the BEST metal for even heat distribution. Also, I like that it's a big pot that doesn't have a huge base that would overwelm the stovetop. (The diameter and height are each 9 inches.)

I have used this pot several times in the short time I've owned it. I like the fact that it doesn't take up a lot of space on my stove and the heavy bottom prevents scorching.

Compared to Polarware, Adcraft, Carlisle, All-Clad, Anolon Advanced Clad/Ultra Clad (which doesn't make a stock pot larger than 8 qts, anyway). Have not compared to the "professional" line of Tramontina but did not find a copper core in any of these brands other than All-Clad.

My espresso cups arrived even earlier than I was expecting. Le Creuset is just such a great quality line of products that you really can't go wrong with anything you purchase from them. Had to order these in the marseille color to match my tea pot!

These are the perfect size for espresso and the saucers are designed to hold the espresso cup in place which is super important! Other espresso/saucer combo's that i've found don't have a deep enough divet for the cup to go so the espresso splashes out of the cup very easily and it's messy.

I've looked at other name-brand bake pans at department stores and nothing came close to the quality of this USA Pan product. Remarkably thick and heavy construction material. Feels like something my grandmother would have had in her 1950s kitchen. I can't imagine outlasting this pan. I'm sold on USA Pan and will switch over to its product line as my other name-brand bake pans need replacement. And it's made in the USA! Unlike all the other name-brand bake pans out there shipped over from China.

I ordered this loaf pan based solely on the fact it was made in the U.S.A. I have to say, the quality exceeded my expectations. It's a very solidly made, heavy pan and it bakes bread like a dream. I'm definately ordering another one.

Yes, it's more expensive than some Made in China pan, but the quality of this pan ensures me I will have it for many, many years.

Like all USA pans, this one rates an A Plus. I love the rippled sides and the heavy gauge construction. Lightly grease the pan before baking and your bread will slide out with ease.

Best of all It's proudly made in the USA.

Honest reviews on USA Pan 8.5 x 4.5 Inch Aluminized Steel Loaf Pan with Americoat

This is a great pan!! I started making bread this year and also bought a NorPro pan that was recommended by another baker. Compared to the Norpro, this pan exceeds my expectations! With the Norpro, I *always* have to use a knife to loosen the bread to get it out and then *scrub* to clean the breadcrumbs off the side. With the USA Pans, it's a breeze!! I treat both pans the same way, but the bread comes out easily and cleanly with the USA Pan. Needless to say, the Norpro stays in my cabinet unless I have to use it. I really like these pans, want more and plan on replacing my baking pans with USA Pans as needed. Best of all, they are made in the USA!

This is a well made, high quality pan that does a great job of baking. As long as you hand wash and immediately dry, this pan should have long life. However, it is NOT dishwasher safe as the aluminized steel will corrode. After using this for several months one of my kids accidently put this through the dishwasher and the surface finish is now ruined.

I love this pan! I've been cooking for a living for more than 25 years and this is one of the best teflon pans I've ever used. Nice heavy aluminum, not one that feels like it was made out of a pop can. Handle feels very strong and is comfortable to grip. Made my husband fried eggs without using any grease and the eggs came out perfect. You taste the eggs not the grease. It came clean with just a quick wipe. The enamel on the outside is beautiful, shading from light to deep blue. I am looking forward to getting more of this cookware.

Best Deals for Rachael Ray Porcelain Enamel II Nonstick 12-1/2-Inch Skillet

I hardly ever do reviews on Amazon, but I'm doing this to save you the disappointment I have experienced.

I got this skillet in December 2011 (not through Amazon). I used the skillet with extreme caution so as not to damage the inside. I have used these types of skillets as long as they have been made and until now got years of service out of them. I NEVER put it or for that matter any metal skillet or pan in the dishwasher or used a metal utensil in it. After no more than 6 uses, the inside coating started peeling out in chunks up to 1 inch.

I contacted the company and was told I had to ship it to them (me paying for the shipping). They would then review the product and determine then if they would replace or if it had not been taken care of properly. I was also told it could take up to 12 weeks before I may receive a replacement. So I'm without a big skillet for that long--I only have 1 12-1/2 inch skillet. Would they actually replace? Who knows... I have spent all the money that I ever will on Rachel Ray products. No Rachel Ray for me and I would highly recommend you purchase something besides Rachel Ray, unless you like to gamble or wish to make an investment in the product (initial purchase, shipping fees to return and maybe get a replacement and be without a skillet while they decide if they will replace it).

Honest reviews on Rachael Ray Porcelain Enamel II Nonstick 12-1/2-Inch Skillet

First I would say this pan is a pan. It is coated with teflon and works wonders. It is a bit oversized compared to the standard 12 in pan and makes me that much happier.

I like the high sides and makes it that much easier to cook with. The teflon seems very durable and should last a long time.

The rivets are not coated and things can accumulate around them. Just clean around the rivets and you should be fine.

The paint job on this looks awesome...a two tone color that really looks nice...unless you got the one I did. I got one with a nick in it and someone had the nerve to color over it with a blue marker.

I have used this numerous times so far. It works great and as described. I can see the bottom wearing off first, then maybe the teflon over normal or high use.

With the price and happiness it has brought me so far, I would recommend it to all!

UPDATE 1/30/13: I would say that though this pan is still a nice pan, it doesn't seem to hold well with use. The Teflon already has scratches in it where other brands I use do not. It seems that the Teflon isn't as thick as others that I have. I would say long term, it may not hold up as long as I would have expected.

Wanted this set...but when I saw the saute pan I couldnt resisit. I thought that the pan would have come with a top, but I guess I have to wait for the full set. Otherwise I love the color, this one is a two toned blue, some are just plain ole blue so it gives it a bit more of a design instead of boring blue. The pan is a bit heavy, but my hands arent that great due to sickness but I manage. Pan is great, non-stick, none of the color fading or washing off. Would buy other sets, if she came out with a lightweight set I would love it also.

I didn't read the description closely enough before I bought these so I was a bit surprised at how TINY they are. But that's my fault. But I've used them and they work well enough for what they are. The handles are annoying to me because they just won't stay in one place. Other than that, they're not bad. The cup is a useless, cheap piece of plastic. I don't even know where it is anymore... Bodum Pavina Double Wall Cooler/Beer Glass, Set of 2
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars

The glasses are beautiful to look at and a pleasure to hold. There is no problem with condensation, even in the humid southern heat.

Complaints about their fragility are a bit confusing. I would never dream of dropping ice cubes directly into nice crystal, and I would not drop ice cubes directly into these glasses either; they are not Wal-Mart tumblers, and should not be treated as such. That said, mine regularly go through the normal cycle in the dishwasher with no problems. I purchased them (8 in all) several months ago, have not lost even one due to breakage, and take great pleasure in using them.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

Other people who have reviewed Bodum glassware elsewhere in Amazon have complained that ice cubes cause these glasses to break. These double-wall glasses are made of borosilicate glass, which is highly resistant to sudden changes in temperature. But the glass walls are as thin as a lightbulb maybe even thinner so they must be treated with a LOT of care. Dropping ice cubes into an empty Bodum glass from any height at all will give you the same result as dropping a rock into it. My guess is that the breakage suffered by other users is probably due to manufacturing defects when the two layers of hand-blown glass are being annealed together.

I ordered mine through Sur la Table, and they arrived VERY well protected. I find that hot beverages don't stay hot any longer in these double-wall glasses than in any other glass or mug, so I gave it 4 stars rather than 5. But these glasses DO have a unique appearance and makes the liquid inside look like it's floating in mid-air. The walls are so thin that when I first unwrapped them I thought they were made of Lexan polycarbonate or some other nonglass material because they don't feel or sound like glass.

Best Deals for Bodum Pavina Double Wall Cooler/Beer Glass, Set of 2

I read all the reviews and had to put my two cents in. These glasses are quite sturdy, don't feel like a Christmas ornament like someone said, and are very beautiful. They are somewhat costly and need to be handled with care, so I wouldn't recommend dropping ice in them while dry. However, if the inner glass broke you would definitely notice. All you would need to do is look at the tumbler to see that the inner glass is broken and the liquid has spilled into the outer glass. There is no way you would be in danger of swallowing glass. I give them four stars only because I did notice a very slight condensation when the glass was full of icy liquid, and for 10 dollars a piece I don't think there should be any.

Honest reviews on Bodum Pavina Double Wall Cooler/Beer Glass, Set of 2

I had read all the warnings about dropping ice cubes into these

glasses prior to purchase. I still purchased and made sure not to use any ice or place anything solid inside. After the third

day the score is one down one to go. Despite extraordinary caution I still notice the inner glass lining broken. There was very little liklyhood of ingesting the glass , but at 10 buck apiece you expect to use them more than twice.

The double wall keeps cold drinks coller and hot drinks hot longer. They look great, are confortable to hold and have been reasonable priced . . . at least up to now when the dramatic increase in their popularity has driven the prices up and made it difficult to find them in stock.

I had a granite 16 qt kettle, that I really liked, but after a year of use, the granite all chipped off, so I needed another pan. Even though this pan is only 2 gallon, I really liked the shape and decided to give it a try. It is the perfect size for a single batch of jelly, it is very easy to scoop out of and the last little bit you can pour out, because it has a pour spout. I ordered this thinking I would probably send it back, that it would probably be the strength of a pie pan, boy was I surprized. It is made out of 18/10 stainless steel and is a good quality pan. I used it all day and found it very easy to work with, it has a bail and a helper handle and a pour spout. At $34 it was a very good buy.

I ordered this pan in the midst of a jelly/jam making (and other assorted food in jars) frenzy. One of the old school make do or do without crowd, I had been using a big Calphalon Dutch oven to make jam because it is heavy enough not to burn the sugar at high temps. But after the millionth time of cleaning jam spatters off the walls, floor, and stovetop, I did some research and ordered this CucinaPro. It is simply beautiful...deep, heavy bottom, but light to lift and handle, and cooks jams perfectly. The smaller base boils quickly and the wider top provides lots of surface for evaporation. And it cleans up like a dream. As for the size...two gallons is huge for a home cook. That means no spattering of hot sugary mess. That means double batches of salsa. It will also mean clam chowder for a big crowd, I suppose, but I can't get by the beauty of the thing for jam making and canning right now. There aren't a lot of tools you REALLY need for canning...but this one has joined my list. Oh, and did I mention that the Amazon price is less than half other vendors?

Very big pot, conducts heat well. Have used it for making jam, blanching beans and other harvest, and making pears in syrup for canning. Found it just right for my needs and very useful. The pouring handle, carrying handle, and pouring lip are useful too.

I received these as a gift from my sister and LOVED them for about a year and a half. Then, the glaze on the small one (which I use most) began cracking. I do often use them for fish at high temps, but come on, they're BAKING dishes, they should hold up. It is now to the point where the whole dish is covered in a spider web of cracks. Last night, I made tilapia and when I pulled it out of the oven, all of the cracks were oozing this mysterious black/brown gunk!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am hoping to get a replacement and that this is a fluke because I really do love the color, shape, and easy cleanup. BUT, I also agree with previous poster's issue with the unglazed bottoms sweating. They WILL MOLD if you nest them and don't put a paper towel in there, even if you hand washed and especially if you used the dishwasher.

I didn't think I would use these so often, but I do. I find myself looking for recipes to try, just to use these. They hold heat like you wouldn't believe, they actually cook everything evenly, and they are great to put under the broiler to get nice crisp crusts on casseroles.

The small size is absolutely perfect for a household of two people. It has allowed me to scale down my recipes to work for just two people, and still get the same quality that I would in the full scale version. The rounded sides are great and make it easy to scoop things out. They don't look very deep, but they can hold A LOT.

And, as cliche as it might be, they ARE great from going from the oven to table, and people really are impressed (plus, that makes less dishes to clean up, BONUS!!). Buy these, you will not be disappointed.

These are great looking, colorful, and very useful bakers. I have several Rachael Ray sets and enjoy using them a lot. Now for the issue: I have bought two Bubble and Brown sets and in both sets, the 1 quart dish has cracked in a big way. The first one cracked then broke completely in half. The new one now has the beginnings of the same sort of crack. I have been careful to keep them away from abrupt temperature changes, water when hot, etc., so the fact that this has happened twice to the same dish makes me concerned that there is a production problem. I just cannot depend on these to deliver food to the table if they might break in half coming out of the oven. Not safe either. Has anyone else had this experience?

Handle broke off in my hand when removing from the oven. Spilled boiling contents and ceramic everywhere. This design is very dangerous. Do not use. E-mailed company and received no response.

I was baking chicken pieces at 400 and halfway through, the baker cracked in half. The smoke and mess in the oven was horrible and of course it also ruined dinner. Not happy.

The pot was received badly dented, however the shipping box shows no sign of damage. The pot is damaged beyond use. I tried to contact the seller (through Amazon) but no answer. I could return the pot, but would have to pay return shipping charges. I do not feel that I should be responsible for the shipping charges. I also ordered the 17 quart pot, the covered doesn't fit, as it is warped.

Looks like I am out a little over a $100 dollars and Amazon will be out of a customer if they don't make it right.

Excellent, I enjoy it. It's perfect. We cook outside with wood and we had like 30 people invited. They love how the food, and the size, perfect. Worth it for that price.

Fast delivery, Caldero was as described, Very good quality product, would buy from seller again..... My mom has had a smaller Imusa caldero for about ten years and it still looks and cooks great. I got this one for my girlfriend and she loves it. I compared the imusa brand to other brands side by side at local spanish stores and the other brands seem to be made of cheaper quality materials. Hope they get more in stock, this is a great Caldero and everyone is asking me where I got one this big from.

I cook a lot, private chef. Bought this for myself, great for asparagus & perfect for pasta. Basket webbing is small enough so I can steam smaller items, basket hook a good feature. Added plus, it does not take up a lot of storage space. Liked it so much that I got one for my daughter. I recommend it.

Beware, this pot is made in Indonesia, not Belgium like other Demeyere products. The pot arrived severely defective, there was a HOLE in the bottom edge, daylight shows through! The metal is thin and was machined too closely. Very light weight, not substantial like a true Demeyere pot. The quality and styling is not the same as that found in the authentic Demeyere pot I ordered at the same time from Amazon. The advertising copy on Amazon does not say where the product is manufuctured which is misleading to the consumer. The packaging identifies the pot as a Resto by Demeyere. This is not a Demeyere pot.

It is troubling that Amazon does not offer free return shipping for such a blatently defective product with misleading advertising copy.

I've got this pot on GoldBox deal and recently started cooking with it. I really like it. It's very narrow so it would fit on a smallest burner of my glass cooktop. It has a perfect flat bottom a must for glass cooktop. The insert made from mesh not wires, so nothing falls thru the walls. I cooked asparagus and it was just perfect. You can put pasta, vegies etc into the basket and it is very easy removable. The little hook let's you get the basket higher away from watter on the bottom and dry it. I believe you can do deep frying in this pot I've just never tried it yet. Anyway if you on a market for this kind of cookware you should consider this pot.

On balance this is a good product. It is well made and does the job. I wish it were two inches deeper though. The normal length of the long pastas such as linguini are just about 1 1/2 inches longer than the depth of the pot so you have to keep stirring it until the pasta softens and sinks completely. If you don't, you end up with a short end of the pasta not cooked sufficiently when the rest of it is.

Having said that I still think it is a very good piece of cookware and I use it frequently for various boiling tasks.

I bought this pot to replace another pot I used for pasta it required a ton of water to fill the basket and took forever to come to a boil. This pot is awesome! I'm sure it does a great job on asparagus, but I use it solely for pasta. It requires less water since the basket goes to the bottom of the pot and can hold a TON of pasta. It does a great job, and I find it to be the best I have used.
