The roaster was sent to me in a box that was too small. It wouldn't fully closed & was held together with tape. The roaster itself was damaged. The handle was dented in and the finish was scratched off in a number of places. Because I didn't have time to wait to send this one back & wait for a new one& hope it wasn't damaged too I had to just go to the store and purchase a new one from some where else.

There are times when one doesn't need a high-quality, expensive Dutch oven: a roasting pan will do. I had one like this for years but accidentally left it with a friend. So I searched for a replacement online, and I'm very happy with this one! (I mainly use it as a "bain marie" for baking cheesecakes, but I roasted a chicken in it tonight -I brought it with me as I'm staying in a house without much cooking equipment -and the chicken came out perfectly cooked.) It washes up easily, and it's light enough to easily stick in your suitcase.

Don't buy these for the Lodge Logic LPGI3 Pro 20-by-10-7/16-Inch Cast-Iron Grill/Griddle. The spacing of the grooves don't fit the grill, rendering them useless. Gave this two stars because the material feels like it can withstand high heat.

Just used them when the grill/griddle was slightly hotter than warm...melted. Thus the review is now one star.

I've used cast iron for 35+ years and found these scrapers great to scrape away little crusty bits, esp. in the curves of a pan. Remember, no dishwashing liquid should touch a cast iron pan--just scrape and scrub with a stiff lodge brush, rinse and thoroughly dry. I then rub a little cooking oil on the inside, mopping up any excess with a paper towel.

Do not order this if you plan on using it with the Lodge Logic LPGI3. The notches on this scraper do not fit hte grooves in the grill side of the Lodge Logic LPGI3. That was specifically why I ordered this product and the product description does not mention this at all. Maybe it will work for others, but it did not work for me.

Honest reviews on Lodge SCRAPERGPK Grill Pan Scraper, 2-Pack

I use these with a Lodge cast iron grill pan. The scrapers have two rows of scraping notches at different widths, presumably to accommodate the different pans in Lodge's product lineup. These are great for cleaning up grill pans without removing the seasoning just use them in the sink with hot water (no soap!) and soon your pans will be clean and ready for oiling. Before these I had been using those green scrubbing sponges which 1) didn't clean the pan very well, 2) sanded through the seasoning in some "hot spots", and 3) shredded the sponge in no time. These scrapers have no such issues. They're rigid but slightly flexible and comfortable to hold and use. And you can toss them into the dishwasher with impunity.

I would suggest one improvement: put a narrow "U" shaped notch on the back edge of the scraper to scrub off the top edges of the ribs on the pan. As it is, these scrapers are better for cleaning out gunk that's fallen into the valleys between the ribs. But not a big deal. I've had nothing but outstanding experiences with Lodge products. Nice to see that continue even with a little item like this.

This package contains two identical scrapers. Each has two grooved sides of different spacing, and a rounded edge. These work well for cleaning the Lodge L8SGP3 grilling skillet, and can be tossed in the dishwasher afterward. Alternatives would be using a wadded up paper towel or a stiff brush. This tool gets a big start on the cleaning and then you might have to pick a few remnants off.

Inexpensive and useful. Give one to a friend!

I really bought this pan for my husband since he has two large cast irons and wanted a small one. I found it smaller than I would have liked but it's great for a small meal for one person. It's a real bachelor-type pan that would be good for someone dorming at college. Pair it with a good cast iron cook book and this is a pan for all seasons.

I was a little nervous when I bought this skillet, since at the time there were no product reviews on it, but I was desperate, and since I had had good luck with other Cuisinart products, I took the chance. Am I glad I did! We were just beginning a major kitchen remodel, which meant that for at least two months I would have to improvise cooking facilities for 5 adults and a grandchild. This skillet has been a real workhorse for me, and a genuine lifesaver (and budget-saver) during the remodel. Its cost was no more than 2 dinners for my family at a moderate-cost restaurant, and I saved that much the first week by cooking those dinners at home in this skillet instead. Its large capacity makes it extremely versatile. I've used it to fry chicken, make one-pan dinners, cook bacon and eggs, frozen blintzes, pot roast, stir-fry meals, you name it. It makes a beautiful risotto, and I've even used it to cook corn on the cob and boil potatoes. Everything came out exactly as I'd hoped, or better. I am especially happy with the Cuisinart's solid, sturdy base that won't let the skillet tip over and endanger the cook (or the curious grandchild). I also love the sturdy nonstick surface, which after two months of frequent use is still like new, in contrast to some nonstick pans I've had where the coating scratches or wore off so quickly that by the 3rd or 4th use the food had to be chipped out. The temperature control responds very quickly, too. You can certainly buy a cheaper electric skillet, but if you use it frequently, a cheap pan will be trash in a short time and you may not be happy with the way it performs in that short lifetime. This Cuisinart is worth every penny, and I expect to be using mine for a long, long time.

I have owned this electric skillet for several months. This is my first electric skillet. I know, shocking, after 25 years of marriage! I love this skillet, and can not believe I did not purchase one sooner. I have done eggs with cheese, fajita's, sausage, etc. Nothing has stuck! The meat browns nicely, the eggs don't stick, everything cooks evenly and as it should.

Best of all, clean up is a breeze! I know the instructions say you can put it in the dishwasher, but I haven't even been tempted. A little dish soap, a little water and a swish with a dishcloth, rinse and dry and the clean up is done!

I wouldn't trade it.

*Update: I have now had this skillet for about 1 year. It still cooks great and cleans as easy as it did new. non-stick finish has been very durable, and the unite heats up nicely. It is nice and large so you can cook up a large amount of food at one time. This is nice when you are cooking for several people. When it is just me and my husband, I can cook the sausage and pancakes at the same time, then I only have one cleanup!

I do at times wish the cooking surface was more level. It seems to be a little lower around the edges. I assume that is on purpose to allow grease to drain.

Best Deals for Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric Skillet

I have only had my Cuisinart Electric Skillet for approx. two weeks, but have used it almost every day since receiving it! I love it! Very easy to clean, nothing sticks to it. I have fried chicken twice in it, and it did a wonderful job of it. The chicken fried evenly and got very brown and crusty but no burning. I have fried pork chops in it, and it was the same, cooked perfectly. I have found it fries bacon much better and more evenly than trying to do it on my stove and so much easier to clean up because it doesn't spatter as badly as cooking in a more shallow skillet. Plus, my stove top is smooth glass and frying on it is always messy and causes the grease to burn onto it and then has to be cleaned with special glasstop cleanser, so I don't make a mess on my stove when I use the skillet. I cooked hamburgers in it yesterday and they were delicious, browned on the outside but juicy inside. The best I have cooked in a long time. I cannot praise this skillet enough! I have been searching for a 16-in. electric skillet for the past year but every one that I would find listed on Amazon (which is the same selection, or even better selection) than I would find in a local department store, and as I always read customer reviews before I buy (I feel this is the best way to find out about any product before actually buying and using it, from people who have it and have used it) they all had some bad features, either in the design or workmanship, and in the case of Rival, not good customer service. So I stayed away from every brand that I read about for the 16 in. elec. skillets. Then, just recently, I was checking out the food network website and noticed this oval shaped one by Cuisinart that they offered, and though the price was the same as on amazon, I went with amazon because of the free shipping. I was also hoping that amazon would have a few customer reviews for me to read so I could see how others either liked or disliked the skillet, but alas, there were none! I guess it is too new yet to have many customer reviews. Though it is not quite the 16 inches that I was looking for, the 15"X12" size has proven to be just as good, it easily holds a whole chicken without crowding. The one inch differenc wasn't enough to stop me from buying it. I knew Cuisinart was a very good brand, so I trusted the name, and took a chance and I am so happy that I did. It is pure joy to cook in this skillet. I haven't even put it away since I have had it, as I use it almost every day, I just keep it sitting on the end of my counter in the kitchen, where I use it. The only criticism I could offer is the shortness of the cord, but I have found this is true with every electric skillet that I have looked at, and was true with my old one that I gave my daughter when I purchased this one. It seems you can't wear electric skillets out, as I had that one for about 25 years! But back to the short cord. I think it is a safety feature so that you won't get caught in the electric cord and pull the skillet off the counter or table and cause burns to yourself or damage the skillet. And thankfully, the cord is just long enough to reach the outlet on the down-side of my counter top without having to use an extension. If I used it close to a wall with a wall socket, it would reach even better. But since I don't have a lot of counter space and the counter top range takes up so much of my space, it is more convenient for me to have it at the end of the counter top. And it is worth every penny of the hundred dollar price! I highly recommend it.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart CSK-150 1500-Watt Nonstick Oval Electric Skillet

I picked this out as a gift based on all of the positive reviews. The first unit arrived and looked OK at a glance. Upon closer inspection, I found some scratches on the exterior and weird spots in the non-stick surface. When I flipped the unit over, I found all of the model information is imprinted into the metal surface; including a serial number. That serial number had been covered up with a black mark and a second serial number has been printed below in black type. I confirmed with Cuisinart customer service that this indicates that the unit has been refurbished.

My order was for a NEW unit from amazon.com (not a marketplace seller). Amazon customer service quickly created a new order for another unit at no charge to me and provided me with postage to return the refurb unit. I was assured that the replacement unit would be new. A week later, the replacement arrived and it also has 2 serial numbers and even worse defects in the non-stick coating (rough spots). I am now returning for a refund. Buyer beware. Check your serial number!

During my 30 plus years of marriage, I have owned at least 5 electric skillets. When the last one broke, I decided to do some research and bought the Cuisinart 150. I was skeptical about the oval shape since all my others were rectanglar and I felt that those extra corners meant more room. However, the shape does not matter. In fact, since most foods are rounded, the oval is better. The Cuisinart 150 cooks evenly, there are no hot coil spots on my foods. It preheats quickly and cooks very quickly also. it also lies level on my counter which for some odd reason the others never did. I don't think I have ever been so happy with a kitchen appliance before. I use my skillet at least once a week, for chicken, eggplant or veal cutlets, as well as for beef stroganoff or other all-in-one-pan meals. I would give this product a perfect 10. It is worth the higher price because it is so well-built and does such a great job.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is our second Anolon set and we are very pleased with the quality of the product. The first set his running strong since last 6 years. The non-stick quality of Anolon is nowhere less than the other top brand names which are a lot more expensive. The coating is consistent all across and it provides a uniform heat to the food inside.

The weight of each of them is appropriate for their size and doesn't feel too heavy in everyday use.

Overall, it is a great value for money if you are looking for a long-lasting product and don't want to spend on it again and again as with the cheaper store brands.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'm really pleased overall with the quality of this set. It's thick and has a weighty feel to it, unlike cheaper sets I've used (such as Rachael Ray 87593 Hard Anodized II Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 12-Piece Cookware Set, Orange). Food releases easily, no scratches yet, and I've had no problems washing everything in the dishwasher.

If I have one complaint it's that the set doesn't include a small frying pan, and I don't care for how tall the 8-quart covered stockpot is (I prefer something shorter and wider). Nevertheless, it's worth it to spend a little more and buy this set over cheaper brands.

Best Deals for Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 9-Piece Cookware

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I had a set of Meyer pots and pans that were sold via infomercial, and they didn't last within a year or so, they warped and handles became loose. This set is MUCH better. The pans are nice and heavy, and so nonstick that food practically rinses off and water beads right up.

I love the tall handles even if it means the fry pan lid won't fit upside down in the pan as a result (I hang the lids up instead). The silicone part is quite grippy and the metal ends of the pan handles don't get hot.

All the pans are very useful for my cooking needs. The flat-bottomed fry pan is a tad small for family-sized meals; I use the larger T-fal A9108274 Specialty Nonstick 5-Quart Jumbo Cooker with Glass Lid Fry Pan Dishwasher Safe Cookware, Black for that purpose, but the smaller Anolon pan is fine for couples or singles and is easier to store.

Honest reviews on Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 9-Piece Cookware

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We have used this set for about a month now and my family is very impressed with the quality. The quality of the non-stick surface is great. I have reviewed cheaper sets that had issues with melted cheese or other creamy textures. The Anolon set works flawlessly.

I like the heavier weight of the cookware. Many sets I have seen feel very lightweight. These guys feel heavier, which usually translates into longer heat retention and more even cooking.

The handles are comfortable and the set is asthetically pleasing. If I had one gripe it would be that I wish the saute pan was larger. A 5 quart saute pan would be nice. But since no cookware set provides that I really can't complain. While the set is not cheap, I believe it represents a good value when you look at the quality you are getting.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 9-Piece Cookware

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this cookware set! I've stayed away from nonstick cookware for close to a decade now as I was constantly frustrated by how frequently they needed to be thrown out and replaced. My Stainless Steel cookware i still going strong and look good as new; however, I've come to accept that there are times where having some nonstick cookware would be ideal.

To start; each piece in this set is of solid construction and posess a nice weighty feel. The nonstick surface seems to be of excellent quality and I have high hopes that it will last longer than sets from my past. The nonstick surface is supposed to be metal utensil safe, which is a huge plus for someone like me who occassionally uses the odd metal spoon to stir/scramble/saute(probably why I so quickly destroyed so many cookware sets in the past). I've used the skillet and covered saute pan about a dozen times now and even with my rough handling, the nonstick surface is not showing any signs of even minor wear and tear. I've also cooked sticky rice in one of the smaller sauce pans and it was a breeze getting the browned rice from the bottom out without having to chip away at it.

I really appreciate the silicone handles for stove top cooking. This is something that is lacking from my stainless steel set and mits are needed when lifting the lids or transporting pots over to the sink for straining out hot water. It's so much more convenient to simply be able to lift the lid with my hand to stir, or simply grasp the pot directly in order to transfer. I do wish the lids had a built in vent (helpful when cooking rice) but they do seem to vent just fine on their own from around the rim.

Overall, I think this is an excellent buy for anyone in the market for a nonstick set. This would also make a lovely gift for a new couple, assuming they have no qualms about nonstick cookware. Personally, I see myself getting the most use out of the skillet and saute pan and would have likely purchased those separately for specific use (like for cooking eggs) but overall, I am pleased to have this entire set as part of my collection and would recommend it to family and friends.

I was familiar with the advantages of induction cooking, but couldn't afford a new range. My wife and I bought the 2 for 1 set, with the two pans, pot, and fondue kit, but I also added one 10 piece cookware set. I assumed the cooktop would work nicely, and looked forward to having more precise control to cook with.

I expected the cookware to be adequate, but nothing special. When I got the two sets, plus extra pot set, I was pleasantly surprised. On first inspection, the cookware looked very well made. Heavy from the ferrous core, but thin and light where it needs to be. The glass lids are very nice, and better quality than the Calphalon lids that came with my old Anodized cookware. Those had gobs of rubber under the distorted rivets, and uneven rims. The NuWave lids are much more refined and precise. I like that they are vented, too.

After cooking with this set for months now, I am very impressed. No sticking issues whatsoever, and without the toxins that are in normal non-stick coatings. In fact, I think the ceramic works better than most other coatings. The handles are really nice, and other than some slight discoloring from gas use, the polished outsides still look great. No complaints.

The cooktop works, although the small element seems to take longer to heat the larger pots and pans. I tested boiling water, and found no real speed advantage, but I know I used a lot less energy to do so. While the gas stove poured huge amounts of excess heat up around the sides of the pot, the NuWave only heated the pot itself. Even then the edge of the glass top remained cool enough to touch. (I don't recommend that, though, just in case). After my wife tried to make rosettes on the stove, and failed, I suggested the NuWave. She was able to make perfect rosettes then with the precise temperature control, and never discolored or burned the oil.

Nice cooktop, than can be used almost anywhere there is a plug, and very nice cookware.

I bought this cooktop for three reasons. 1: to be able to accurately control cooling temps for long slow cooking at around 205 F. 2: to be able to control temps for deep frying in minimal oil. 3: to be able to stage the cooking times at different temperatures, like cooking grains and beans by starting at a boil and reduce and simmer automatically.

Actually all three of these functions work reasonably well with a little trial and error and calibration. But four problems

1. Noisy, cooling fan is as loud or louder as a hair dryer on low.

2. The pot must be solid steel or iron to conduct. Even well made stainless steel with aluminum cores will not work, steel not thick enough.

3. Limited power transfer. Tried using a 3/16ths thick cast iron comal as a plate to place the stainless on. Heat transfer very slow. Tried cooking with a cast iron skillet, took nearly ten minutes to reach egg frying temps. Tried cooking in a low carbon steel flat bottomed wok. Not as effecient as direct gas flame.

4. The above three pieces of cookware were the only ones that I have that would work at all on the cooktop. So short of buying a complete new set of cookware, I would not be using it. If the thing were not so noisy, I would consider buying a solid steel stock pot to cook long cooking time items. That seems to be the best use for this.

I know Heartware sells the cookware for this, but from what I can tell it is all non-stick coated. After having wasted money on all the Circulon and similiar "coated" cookware, I will never buy anything other than cast iron (non-stick forever), low carbon woks (best non-stick cookware ever) and durable stainless steel.

Love, love love this grill pan! I live in Arizona and sometimes it is so hot outside that we don't want to BBQ. But I don't feel like cooking inside because it heats the house up so much. I decided to check if there was anything new in the way of microwave cooking.

I'm glad I did. I mainly bought it to grill fish and chicken but I'm very happy it does so much more. The user guide includes 18 recipes including Grilled Fish, Lemon Grilled Chicken, and Tuna Melt, Fish Tacos, Sizzlin' Steak Fajitas, etc. It also has some yummy looking deserts. I can't wait to try the Berry Good Shortcakes and the Grilled Peaches & Cream.

Tonight I reheated pizza. No more soggy leftover pizza!

It mostly makes servings for 2.

I like that is is a heavier weight and very well built. It cooks fast and cleans very easily. I love the lime green color. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Bosch Blender for Bosch Universal Plus Review

Bosch Blender for Bosch Universal Plus
Customer Ratings: 4 stars
Buy Now
My mom bought me a Bosch Universal Plus, and it came with the blender. The first time I used it I made my daughter a kale smoothie with banana and blueberries, and I was amazed at how well it blended the kale! The smoothie was silky smooth in less than a minute whereas my old $50 blender took 15 minutes of on/off/push-the-stuff-down-action and left little kale bits that gave the smoothie a grainy texture. I was blown away. I have since made hummus and almond meal in my blender, and we make green smoothies on a regular basis. I'm going to try making raw almond butter in it later this week. This thing is seriously amazing. I had heard good things about a Vitamix before receiving this blender, but from what I've heard about the Vitamix, this blender does just as good of a job.

The only downside is the noise. It is REALLY loud, but fortunately, my kitchen is on the opposite end of the house from the bedrooms. If you don't mind the noise, then DEFINITELY buy this if you use a blender regularly. It is well worth your money.

Another note: if you make hummus in your blender (which, by the way, makes it fluffier than making it in a food processor!), it will take some time to push the chickpeas down and move them around. I filled the container to the top with chickpeas one day and then added the other ingredients, and I left it running on high speed for too long. The motor cut off, and after worrying that I had killed my mixer, I read that the mixer motor will cut off if it gets overheated. Unplug it, let it rest for 15 minutes or so, and then try again. And don't let it run so long next time! I think it would have been fine if I had not filled it quite so full.

I like the way the engineers at Bosch have put the blender together. The top locks onto the jar by rotating the top unlike other blender tops. This blender also has removable blades which you can order through Bosch. The blender jar is sturdy and has graduations on the sides to let you use the jar itself for measuring. It is well made and the jar locks onto the base of the mixer using a twisting motion.

As a blender this thing works great! We were really enjoying it for a few weeks. Then a few days ago I was making a smoothie. I put some frozen strawberries in and was pulsing and the base of the blender unscrewed and leaked smoothie all down the motor of the bosch which is directly under the blender attachment. I'm so sad about this because I love my bosch and my blender. I'll be taking it to a bosch store to see if they can fix it. But I don't think that having a blender is worth ruining my $400 mixer.

Honest reviews on Bosch Blender for Bosch Universal Plus

We've been using the Bosch blender for years; and, although the main unit itself is nice, the blender has several issues:

The bottom attachment with the blade inserts inside the base and it's impossible to tell if it's loose. As a result, it's easy to have leaking or even have the bottom come completely out. This is our third blender container, and all 3 have been the same way.

One of the previous blender containers recently broke (after 4-5 years of frequent usage), so we came to Amazon and picked up this replacement. I'm not sure why, but this new model didn't fit our main Bosch unit quite right so it sat very loosely in the blender base. We figured that it was probably within tolerances because it didn't appear to have any issues, but the gears in the blender base gave out after only the third use with this blender...

We tend to use our blender frequently (typically more than once a day). The Bosch has a great mixer; but, their blender leaves a lot to be desired.

If I had to rank it, I'd put the Bosch a step above the cheaper off-the-shelf blenders (because it really does blend pretty well). On the other hand, if you are a frequent user (do you like smoothies?) you'll probably be happier with something else.

Let me start by saying that this is a great blender. It has an incredible amount of power and I love using it. It's the best blender we've ever owned. It makes powdered ice, smoothies, pureed tomatoes (you can toss them in with the skin and all and it purees them fine), etc. It even functions as a small food processor to make a few cups of hummus (though if you want more than that you'll have to make it in two batches).

There are a few things that you should know before you buy, though.

1) It's plastic. I actually kind of like that because it's lighter weight and the thin edge spills less, but there it is.

2) The combination of the tall, thin design and the power behind it gives it a small capacity. I originally wrote a review complaining that it only holds six cups. Then I checked and found out that my old blender held the same. There are a few cases where I'm trying to make larger recipes, but mostly this is due to the design (not tapered, so it leaves less room for things to go when they get pushed up by the vortex at the bottom) and the power (the vortex is much stronger than on most blenders and will push the liquid level up by another cup or two). This means that even though the capacity is six cups, the functional capacity is more like four or five. It does work if filled to the full capacity but not quite as easily and it makes a terrific mess.

3) The biggest problem is the lid. I honestly can't even figure out what induced them to do that. If you look at it you'll see that it's got a sunken center, meaning that a) there's no handle for pulling the center out, you just have to tug at it with dry fingers and hope it gives, b) there's no handle for removing the lid, so you have to pull gingerly at the sides and hope you don't splatter, c) there's even less space for the vortex to push the liquid into and d) if it's filled close to capacity, the clear center promptly gets covered with whatever is inside it and becomes useless for looking through. To make it even stupider, there's a hole in the center. My husband said something about it equalizing air pressure, and there's enough power in the Bosch that it might be a necessity. It's still a profoundly bad idea. Every time you have it filled to more than four cups and turn it on, you're taking a chance that something's going to shoot out the top. There is literally smoothie on my ten-foot ceiling. Plus, the bottom of the lid gets covered with stuff (see capacity issues, above) and there's no clean place to grip it and put it back on. That's just unpleasantly messy.

4) There is a safety lock on the blender so that you can't operate it without the lid. It would be asking for a kitchen covered in liquid to do that anyway, but if it weren't for that you might be able to replace the crazy lid with a normal one.

5) Unlike most of the attachments for the Bosch, the base cannot go in the dishwasher. There's a lubricant they're worried will strip off. It also can't be submerged in soapy water. Since it's difficult to get it in and out, the best method is to fill it with soap and water and run. This actually works pretty well, but it's more of a hassle than just tossing it in the dishwasher.

***

I've had this for over a month now and just wanted to add an update. This is the most powerful and effective blender I've ever worked with. I love that it can actually puree tomatoes or frozen cherries without leaving large bits of "skin" floating around in the finished product. That said, I've yet to use it once without wanting to curse at it. It's a well engineered but terribly designed product. The lack of slanting sides means that it has a really hard time establishing a vortex with more than about two or three cups of material, and at that point the high power in the motor becomes a problem. It's not at all uncommon for it to overheat while making a simple, three-cup batch of hummus. Because of that, unless you're blending something that the cheapie blender from Wal-Mart could handle without any problems, you'll have to take the lid off and stir at least once, at which point the outside of the lid and your hands will get covered in whatever was on the inside of the lid, because there's no handle (and again, if there's more than 3 cups in there, it'll be on the inside of the lid, if not your ceiling). Then you put the lid back on and it's on the outside of the blender. At this point you have to use it quickly or else clean the outside of the blender, because that powerful motor ensures that anything on the outside of the blender will shimmy right down into the motor. Sigh.

In short, if you already have the Bosch base and want a powerful blender more than an easy-to-use blender, get this. If you want an excellent blender and don't already have the base, go with one of those systems, like a Ninja or VitaMix or something; it won't cost you much more than this plus the base. If you just want to make the occasional banana smoothie, buy a cheapie from Wal-Mart. It will cause you less frustration. If I could give this three and a half stars, that would feel about right to me.

After 6 months of Sunday Crepe breakfasts for the family I now regularly get excellent Crepes (almost) with this Crepe maker without resorting to the professional Krampouz. As usual you have to practice, practice, practice.

Here are a few recommendations:

Ditch the plastic crepe helper. It's similar to the foaming helpers in Espresso machines, it gets total novices over the initial contact hump but quickly stops you from making any decent progress with the product (Crepe). The tool creates a messy experience and creates uneven crepes.

Second ditch the scraper. It's very hard to get good crepes if you prefer the very liquid kind of dough (which I like). Instead get a round Birchwood scraper. They tend to be larger as well ( 8 inches or so). The round surface allows you to evenly spread the dough ( AMAZON sells them )

Third ditch the spatula. It's simply to short. If you make a real crepe, a really thin crepe the provided spatula will just pierce through the crepe when you lift it to turn or take off the crepe maker. I got a 23 inch Birchwood spatula and am very happy with it.

Fourth: There is no magic to crepe if you follow my advice, use this great crepe maker and practice, practice, practice. I use a simple crepe recipe. You need to play with the temperature and times a bit. My crepes are done within 50s on the first side and 30s for the other side. Experiment and watch videos on the internet.

I bought this in July 2009 for a Bastille Day party it was a huge hit! I practiced a few days before the party and couldn't have been happier. Thought it was a little pricey, but has proven to be worth every cent. Fist crepe or two will be a mess, but just keep trying. MAJOR improvement from just using a frying pan. The flat surface allows you to make larger and thinner crepes. We do not use the pre-measured well or scoop. We do use the wooden tools that are included and that is all you need, I just pour an amount in the middle and can eyeball the correct amount. Then I quickly spread with the wooden t-shaped tool to spread the batter evenly. Watch YouTube videos of crepe making to get the process down. We do not grease our surface before cooking b/c I use a recipe from the internet that contains melted butter and nothing ever sticks. This item cooks EVENLY and I use setting 3 for my crepes other setting cook to fast for me. I do not use the included recipe book, but they do look good. I typically make my mix in the blender and it keeps for 48 hours, allowing me to whip out a crepe for breakfast and dinner 2 days in a row. I also like to cook one side, then flip, then crack an egg on top of the cooked side, let it cook for 1 or 2 minutes, then flip again and add cheese with enough time to melt and then fold and serve. Got this idea from YouTube video of a pro crepe maker. Ignore videos of crepe makers that are not on the street cooking crepes in front of customers the other videos are a huge waste of time! Long and short of it GREAT investment for your kitchen!! I even take mine on vacation to the beach! Enjoy!

I have used this product twice and I am very impressed with the uniform cooking of this Crepe maker. The large 13" nonstick surface makes perfect crepes everytime... no more throwing out the first crepe! The plactic spreading device makes it easy to evenly spread the batter for beginners. The crepe maker is much more substantial than the picture shows, in my opinion. I found the suggested thermostat settings a little too hot causing the crepes to brown too quickly but, after lowering the temperature, I was knocking out multiple banana/Nutella crepes in a matter of minutes. The results are much more like the crepes I got in Paris than ones I've made in a crepe pan.

Ever since a first visit to France, we've been trying to find the perfect home crepe maker and for us this is it. The directions are very specific and should be followed to the T, with one exception: the included measuring cup for batter is not quite big enough and a touch (maybe about 2-3 Tbsp.) more batter needs to be used for each crepe. Also, when you start the spreading action, it tells you that it needs to be completed in 4 seconds and this is true! You must be really quick. Our favorites are strawberries and nutella and for savory, fried egg (which can be done right on the crepe maker prior to making your crepe), spinach, mushrooms and shredded cheese.

We bought this crepe maker to make a few crepes as an additional product for our vending business. We averaged a couple dozen in a half a day since it wasn't the main product. It worked OK the first time but then it just shut off. After it cooled off, it worked again but we tried it another day and it shut off again. I know it's not made for commercial use but I didn't expect it to shut off after only being turned on less than a couple hours. Just know that this is for home use and probably won't be turned on that long so it will should be OK for the average user.

That being said, it's a nice crepe maker. It has kind of a Teflon coating so the crepes don't stick. It doesn't take very long to heat up. Crepes cook a bit too fast so if you want to put Nutella, fruit or other ingredients in the crepe while it's on the crepe maker you'll have to hurry putting them on to heat them up before the crepe burns. Crepes made with this machine are definitely better than ones made with the cheap makers you find in the common stores.

Pros:

1. Nice large surface. 4 oz of batter will make a full size 13" crepe.

2. Cooking surface in non-stick. Easy to pull the crepe off.

3. Not heavy so it's easy to move and store.

4. Uses normal 110 electricity and 12 amps so it won't throw a breaker in most American homes.

Cons:

1. Settings are not realistic. Highest setting is 8 but if I put it higher than 2 the crepes burn. Cooks a bit fast even at that setting.

2. Can't leave it turned on for very long because it gets too hot and shuts off.

3. Tools that come with it are next to worthless. Buy the wooden dowel spreader (on Amazon). That's what the pros use and as long as you drag it through the batter and not try to push the batter, they work great, creating a perfect round crepe.

I checked out the espresso set in a store before buying and they were just too small. I went with this cappuccino set and I absolutely love them. Yes, it is less than an official 'cup' of coffee, but it is not technically meant to be for that. Either way, it is only a few teaspoons in difference and larger than the espresso cup so I can use this with a medium sized Kcup (on the keurig) with room for creamer. Built very sturdy and reliable quality in Le Creuset.

Perfect size, nice weight, easy to hold. Carries the added benefit that if you heat your cups, it holds the temp nicely to keep your fresh hot espresso at temp.

I got this cappuccino cup and saucers after I was so happy with the Le Creuset Espresso Cup set in Cherry color...

Well it is very well made and perfect size for cappuccino... But, it was my mistake to get "Truffle" color because it isn't as pretty as other colors... Maybe its because the color is too close to coffee color? I should've got ocean color or flame...

Truffle color is so beautiful in pots... But, not in coffee cups...

These cups have a rich color and a solid feel. They made such a great gift for a coffee connoisseur that I bought a pair for myself.
