When I first got it I was very happy but what I find is it scratches very badly I use all the correct soft cleaning items and I use soft cooking spoons etc but the outside of the ban is all scratched and chipped up like its old and abussed and the inside as many times as you wash it you still get dark stuff off of it. It cooks great you dont even need to add oil to the pan its just a shame how its aged so fast if this is a defect please make good on it for me

It is hard to beat an induction cooktop in terms of precise temperature control BUT anodized aluminum pots and pans do not work at all on induction. They make steel adapter plates to place under aluminum pots and pans, but those units get very hot and you lose most of the precision control of the pots and pans due to the less than ideal thermal connection from the pot to the metal plate.

These pots and pans are reasonably thick anodized aluminum with an integral stainless steel plate on the bottom. Since the plate is fused to the aluminum, there is very good thermal contact and the full benefit of induction can be realized. The great thermal conduction of aluminum is also provided.

The surface is non-stick but it is too new to determine how long it will last.

I had many Calphalon pots and pans that were eventually replaced by All-Clad pots and pans, but I really had nothing that had the same functionality as this pan. I wanted something that I could make risotto and polenta in, and that might serve as a small wok. I have lusted after the All-Clad sauciers for a time, but just didn't think I would use them enough to justify their well-over $100 price.

I bought this pot at a substantial discount (about $31 versus a $75 list price). When it arrived, I was a bit surprised at how light it was. I also bought the twin frying pan set, and the 12-inch pan has a very thick plate on the bottom, which makes it a comparable weight to an All-Clad pan of similar size. The 10-inch pan and this pot seem a bit lighter than equivalent All-Clad products. This initially caused some concern. Others have pointed out that the pot lacks the helper handle. The photos that are provided carefully crop off the helper handle, but the rivets that attach it are still evident in the photos and are absent on the product that shipped. (Amazon, would it really be that difficult to get a high school intern to take or scan a picture of the actual pot? Really? It is not that I was expecting or wanted rivets, just that after so many comments you could perhaps address the matter.) I don't know if the handle was on an earlier version of the pot and removed to reduce the cost. Perhaps manufacturing it in Thailand also reduced costs. At least in this case the product seems well made, and the cost savings result in an affordable fairly priced product.

The first few cooking attempts have been very successful. The curved corners at the bottom are very useful for dishes like risotto and polenta (and would probably be useful if you were making oatmeal for a small army) that require frequent or continuous stirring. I can imagine a number of other dishes that would benefit. The handle of the Infinite version of this pot is very thoughtfully designed. The cutouts where the handle joins the body of the pot limit the amount of metal through which heat can flow, and for stovetop cooking the handles do not get excessively hot. Although I have not used the pot in the oven, the ability to expose the handles to temperatures as high as 500°F is a bonus, and an advantage compared to the newer (Elite?) line, which has more modest temperature capabilities.

Despite warnings in other reviews for other products from this line that the nonstick was not very long-lived and that one could not use olive oil, this has not been my short-term experience with any of this line of cookware, and is actually inconsistent with the instructions that came with the product. Olive oil is fine, and it is what I most often cook with. Clean-up is a breeze. I will update this review if things change. For most things that I have cooked, the weight of the food was not sufficient to make me wish for a helper handle. For someone who is of smaller frame, I could see that the lack of a helper handle might become an issue if you prepare a full pot of something. I have prepared curries and risottos that have filled the pot and it does get a bit heavy in that case.

If there is any additional disappointment, and it is relatively small, it is that there is no lid. Again, it was not an issue of expecting one. I have enough other cookware that I can probably find a lid that fits, but it would be nice if Amazon/Circulon linked the pan to a specific lid directly in their ad for the product. It might increase the flexibility of the pot and allow use for braising and other cooking methods for which a tight-fitting lid/cover would be necessary. It is not obvious that there is a lid specifically designed for this pot, or at least my limited search for one was unsuccessful.

Overall, for what I paid I think it is a very decent value and the pot functions quite well. If I were just starting out equipping a kitchen, or wanted to buy a friend or child who is moving into their first apartment some decent cookware, this line would be on my list. Would I prefer an All-Clad? Maybe, although my experience with All-Clad is that their nonstick coating peels. Would I prefer Mauviel? Yes, but not the $300 price tag or the handwashing. So I strongly recommend the all-purpose pot as long as the reservations that I have listed aren't things that will bother you or affect your intended uses.

This pan is great. It's big enough to use for many things like stir fry, making soups, boiling or making other one pan dishes. The size is almost 11" across at the top and 5" deep. I just bought an induction cook-top and really love it. I have an 8" Circulon Infinite fry pan and frying eggs and bacon for breakfast is fast and easy.

The quality of these pans are excellent compared to so-called name brands. The handles are heavy and solid chrome and the induction base is aluminum clad over steel. They are well worth the price and you can use them with any type of stove.

Between this pan and an 8" Infinite skillet I cook everything from fried eggs to stir fry to making gumbo. I cook everything now on my induction cooktop. It is superfast and doesn't heat up the kitchen.

I recently purchased a burton deluxe induction stove for cooking at work on occasion. I needed somthing to saute onions in for the burgers we were doing. Initially I tried my steel pans, ok I guess. Then I tried this and loved it! It heated evenly, carmelized my onions well and cleaned up super easy. Ok, it does not have a second handle. But its deep, so you have no mess and its small enough so it only needs one. I liked it so much I bought another. It's just the right size for stir frys.

I bought this to use specifically on my induction cook top and it does the job beautifully! Heats very evenly and can do so many things! I've used this to make soups, one pot meals for my wife and I as well as sautéing meats and vegetables. I just made scrambled eggs with sautéed onion and cheese and not only did they come out great but with just a plastic spoon I was able to get every single morsel out of the pot. Clean up with this is never more than wiping out with a damp cloth. Great investment!!

I bought this handle for my Lodge cast iron skillet, but it did not fit at all. It was both too long and the opening too narrow to fit the Lodge handle at all. I did try it on my All-Clad nonstick small skillet's 6 1/2" handle, however, and it fit perfectly. I always loved the All-Clad, but hated the handle since it never felt secure. This is the second paella pan I have purchased. The first one was smaller and was carbon steel because I didn't want to make a big investment on a pan that I wasn't sure I was going to use. I have been making paella for the past 5 years every few months and I serve it at an annual Christmas dinner party that my friends and family always look forward to attending. My old pan was getting worn out and was no longer creating a beautiful Socarrat on the bottombut was burning it instead. I finally bit the bullet and purchased this gorgeous stainless steel pan that is 3" larger in diameter than my old one. I tried it out as soon as I got it. Absolutely perfect! I thought it would be really heavy once it was full of ingredients but that is not the case. Once again the Socarrat is perfectly toasted and the cleanup was painless. I used a little bit of barkeeper's and a spongeit came clean very quickly. I can't wait to use it this weekend so our party guests can once again experience a perfectly cooked paella!

I had a pan I used for making paella for years and it was not the right tool for the job at all. Then I was asked to make one for a family dinner and I borrowed a real paella pan that was made of carbon material and it did a great job. So I have been looking for years to find the right pan and then I saw this one granted a little pricey, but it was what I thought the pan should be and once I used it that's when I realized that it was the best pan for the job. It did the job right and it's size is great, clean up was no problem I just love the pan it's great I recommend it 100%.

After the very first use--the very first--the teflon coating is already peeling off exposing the steel below it. I made pasta in the pot and used a SOFT plastic spatula to gently stir it. After that there were already two spots where the coating had come completely off. Now I have used it about 5 times total and the coating looks like it has been scraped with a metal spatula hundreds of times. And no, I did not put it in the dishwasher. Not even once. I used a very soft plastic spatula and did not stir hard. I've had far better quality from an $7.99 pot purchased at a discount store. I seriously don't understand how the quality could be so poor and this company is still in business. Avoid this unless you want to eat teflon flakes with your pasta.

I like this size and was replacing a WearEver. This one is as nice but the aluminum is a bit thinner. We'll see how well it lasts as my experience with thinner pots is that they burn and warp more easily as heat doesn't distribute as well.

Pot is as expected, however am a bit worried about it's longevity. Thin, small weld points. Pot feels very light. It's for Shabu Shabu or especially Chinese Hot Pot, so am worried also about eventual warping from being exposed to long term high heat.

After some mix ups getting the item (I was originally shipped a set of sieves instead of the hot pot cookware that I ordered), I have to say the sautering workmanship is spotty at best. I don't think it will last very long. For those of you who live near an Asian market, try buying one there instead. You won't pay as much, you won't have to pay for shipping, and it will likely be better quality. I'm too lazy to send this thing back so I'll keep it-but I wouldn't buy anything from this company again.

As others have noted, the quality of the pot is readily apparent by handling and looking at it. The thickness of the steel is the concern... It seems to me like a little elbow grease might cause the thin welds/attachment areas to break. I've used it twice so far and it's fine but something to be watchful for in the future.

It's non-stick, hard-anodized, has glass lids, stay-cool handles, oven safe, and dishwasher safe! That's a hard combination to find, especially the dishwasher safe part with the non-stick interior and hard-anodized exterior. This set was purchased as a gift for someone with a ceramic/glass cooktop, and she says it works well on that surface. No problems with throwing them in the dishwasher, no problems with the non-stick surface. And they're lovely to look at and use, too. The only thing to note is that the handles on the cookware do stay cool, but the handles on the lids do not, so you'll need potholders when you lift the lids off.

I bought these mainly for the fact that they are the hard-anodized type and dishwasher safe too. Also for the fact that metal utensils can be used in them, because my son forgets with other non-stick cookware. I just fried 2 eggs in the small 8" open skillet without any oil on medium to medium high heat. They slid right out of the pan easily and are cooked perfectly. By the way the saute pan lid will fit over the larger open skillet perfectly, and I did use the larger pan lid to cook my eggs in the small open skillet. That lid does not fit the small skillet perfectly, but it did work.

Only thing I did not like when I opened them is that there is a seam in the metal rims on the lids which shows. This is minor, but I wish they had made them without the seam being visible.

Update 1 year later:

The outside of this cookware does not wear well over time. Any grease that gets on the outside during cooking will cause burned on stains that are not removable. I have tried softscrub, it does not work. Tried a little ammonia also in desperation on the outside only, no luck at all. There is no way to remove the outside discolorations. The outer edge of the small skillet and some of the other pieces also wears off to show a bare shiny metal strip or white discoloring right along the edge. This white discoloration is also spreading on my skillet now to below the edge and onto the side. I have one or two items that seem to be losing their non-stick capability, but I believe one of those pieces were possibly over-heated with burned food. For what I paid, I expected better though on all the pieces. DSA maybe really is not quite so dishwasher safe and I don't have time to hand wash cookware.

Also the 2 pans in this set are not worth much size-wise. The 1 quart is not really big enough to boil one egg. The 2.5 quart pan is adequate. This set needs a 1.5 quart pan and a 3 or 3.5 quart pan to really make is useful. I don't always want to drag out the other larger handled pot, or even the dutch oven size I bought extra. Sometimes I just want a larger pan.

NOT DISHWASHER SAFE!!!! I spent 200$ on this sent on 10/17. It was great for about two months and then the non stick coating started peeling off two the pans. They were totally unusable even milk would stick to them.

The pans are also very light and not ideal for electric burners because they keep sliding around! Its worth noting that I always use non stick safe utensils to lift stuff off.

I had to send the set back to CUISINART customer service(Paying over 50$ for shipping on my own They ask you to pay for return shipping also). It has been more than two months and I did not hear anything from CUISINART on this so I called them and found out that the set is back ordered and there's nothing they can do. They WILL NOT give me a refund either so now I have to go and buy a new set.

I've learnt my lesson and will NEVER buy a CUISINART product again.

I have had this set for a couple of weeks now and I absolutely LOVE it!! Food cooks very evenly and cleanup couldn't be easier... the food really does slide right off! I wish that the lids had a hole in them to release steam. The handles do get hot so make sure you keep pot holders handy, especially for the lids!

I've used the Chef'n VeggiSteam product and the traditional collapsible metal kind. Both have the same problem, they work just fine until you need to pull them out of the pot. It's very hard to get the VeggiSteam out of the pot without the veggies falling off of it. The metal ones are hard to remove in general, in that they get super hot.

The nice thing about the Veebo is that it works as a steamer, but has the shape of a pasta insert. This means removing it does not spill your veggies all over. It's VERY collapsible, and the handles stay cool.

I will say it's a bit small for pasta, I've bought the large version for that in the future. I did manage to use it for pasta though, I just broke the spaghetti in half.

It's great as a veggie steamer in all ways. Squishes down in the pot for cooking and for storage. Extraordinarily easy to clean just needs a quick rinse. Does not have any metal parts to scratch your pans or break off. Highly recommend. One warning it doesn't stay all pretty white like the photo at least not when used to steam broccoli several times a week.

I received this and couldn't use it until my boyfriend came over and deciphered how to take the tag off. I was excited as I have been looking for this kind of product for a while. I was disappointed. The first time I used it the pot boiled over. I tried a different pot and there was either not enough water to boil the pasta or too much so it boiled over. Also, when you try to pull it out, you need to use tongs or a pot holder as the steam comes up where the handles are burns you. I will not try it again. Hopefully someone can develop a pasta pot insert for two people!

Spent a little time researching banana savers wanted something to fit in the diaper bag for on plane trips, etc. This didn't have a length measurement on the listing, and holy cow, is it big. I also tried to fit five different bananas in it, all normal sized, and only one fit. Going to return it and try a different style banana saver. I don't think this is a very practical size for lunchboxes or even backpacks but it could work if you don't mind how giant it is and have the room. So, three stars from me for bulkiness and impracticality. Would give if four or five for general function, though it shut tight and having the vents was good.

I have never seen a banana shaped like this. It's like a cross between a gun and a sea cucumber. I bought a banana protector (for laughs) that looks a lot less... like this and a little more like a banana. It has a little nubbin for the top that the stick part goes into. It only fits bananas that are perfectly shaped for the holder, but that makes it that much more silly. The perfect bananas that fit are always very well protected! So I guess it serves it's silly purpose.

The ambiguous shape of the banana holder listed would be good for laughs. :) Pull it out of your bag all nonchalant and open it up, revealing your banana! Dirty dirty people, what did they think it was!

This does fulfill its purpose. It holds bananas. ANY SIZE BANANA that you could imagine. The downside is that it's comically large. Every person who has seen me use this has been taken aback by size. I found myself being discreet about removing a banana from my bag, which is hardly an ideal snacking situation. It would also be pretty impractical to transport if you didn't have a large-ish (at least messenger or tote-sized) bag or carried it awkwardly in your hand. Additionally--I didn't notice this before ordering, nor did I care, but--the (breathing?) holes in the case are heart-shaped. If for some reason you oppose cutesy items, it probably wouldn't be your style. This would also be a terrific gag gift.

Anyone serious about Cooking should have at least one cast iron pot and Le Creuset is the best quality available today. The 7 quart pot is perfect for anything which requires long slow cooking either on the stovetop or in the oven: stews, baked beans, pasta fagioli, paella, cassoulet, soups, etc., etc. An iron pot takes longer to heat up than say stainless steel or aluminum but it holds heat longer than either. I have even used my Le Crueset on the BBQ to bake a cake or make cornbread so as not to heat up the kitchen in the summer. In fact, this past summer when the electricity went out, I even made all the components of Lasagna Bolognese as well as baking it complete in my Le Crueset on the BBQ. It was round, shaped like a cake but it was delicious. I've had one of my Le Creusets for over 10 years (that calculates to 91 more years on the 101 years warranty!) with no sign of any obvious wear mainly because I have taken care when using it: wooden instead of metal spoons or spatulas and using non-abrasive cleansers on the interior.

I bought my Red, 7-1/4-quart round Dutch/French oven in the early 1990s, cooked hundreds of meals in it and it still looks as good as the day I got it. Back then I lived in an apartment and didn't have much storage space, so I was looking for something versatile. Best kitchen utensil pick I've ever made. And it takes up no storage space at all because it's never put away; it looks beautiful sitting on top of the range even when the kitchen is cleaned up and it's not in use.

I've used it for braising, deep frying, poaching, oven roasting and making stews, soups and sauces. I've used it to cook beef roasts, just about every cut of pork available, whole and cut-up chickens, ducks and rabbit. It works equally well on top of the range or in the oven. It's perfect for pot roasts with the veggies cooked alongside the meat. You can render beef fat in it and make perfect oven-browned potatoes, starting on a range burner and finishing in the oven without having to use another pot or pan. For big batches of chili or jambalaya, this is the answer -after you make it and have a meal, you can put the lid on and put the whole thing into the refrigerator. The next day, put it on top the range and let it stand for 20 minutes to shake off some of the chill, then fire up the burner on low and stir from the bottom with a wooden spatula. It reheats perfectly without scorching. It's great for frying anything because the sides are so high there are no grease splatters, making cleanup a snap.

Food will stick to the enamel lining, but it comes off easily with dish soap and a Scotchbrite sponge. Also, there's no problem putting either pot or lid in the lower rack of the dishwasher. Mine doesn't have a scratch or any discoloration after all this time. Just take reasonable care of it and use only plastic or wooden utensils, it'll last a lifetime. Heck, it'll probably last your children's and grandchildren's lifetimes too, giving full value for that 101 year warranty. Don't even think twice about getting one -put it in your Shoppping Cart and just do it. In fact, you'll also want it's 5-1/2 and 3-1/2-quart cousins for those times when you need the same versatility but with smaller quantities of food. So you might as well order all three of them and get it over with. Yeah, your credit card will be smoking for a few months, but you'll quickly forget about it when you discover how nice it is to cook with enameled cast iron -enjoy!!!

I cook mainly soups and stews (they can be reheated over a few days so I don't have to cook every night.) But my stainless pots tend to burn if I leave them to simmer. I love this pot because it heats evenly and slowly, and the enamel is non-stick or nearly so. I keep mine out on the stove all the time because I like the way it looks--the red is very cheerful in our white kitchen.

My first test run was a batch of minestrone. My recipe takes three days as I make a double beef boullion to start, then finish off with the strained stock and added vegetables. The results were great.

This is a heavy pot and the enamel can chip if you drop the top (not to mention ding your floor.) So be careful.

I can't add to all the glowing praise but perhaps I can help you make a decision about size. The 5 1/2 qt size is small enough to make small batches of any food and big enough to make double batches of stews and sauces. I have baked bread, fried, deep fried, stewed, braised, and boiled in this pot. I have a bigger pot and a smaller one, but this one gets used almost every day. If you are wanting to upgrade to this product line, this size is the one to start with. By the way clean up is a breeze-I have burnt food on, cooked tomato based sauces,burnt spillage on the outside and generally made a mess and my pot looks like new. If I had only one pot in my kitchen this would be it.

Twenty years ago when I was a teenage bride, I purchased this Le Creuset pot. At the time I couldn't cook, (I am now a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu), but fell in love with the look and colors of this wonderful product. My new husband didn't not fall in love with the price, he always says I can pick out the most expensive item in any line up! Well, twenty years later he agrees with me, and now he goes shopping for other Le Creuset items! This is the best pot I own. It looks as new as the day I bought it, and I wouldn't lend my Le Creuset out to a soul. It holds heat beautifully and makes sauces like a champ. I have purchased and thrown away many other brands of kitchenware over the years that couldn't hold a candle to my Le Creuset. I have read other reviews, and yes it is a heavy pot, but much like life you get used to the extra weight, and I almost don't notice the weight now ... of the pot I mean:) I will not buy anything else and plan on buying more Le Creuset in the future. FYI, the green pepper casserole dish is adorable, check it out!

I ordered the black version of this Chroma cookware set with a bonus griddle, opened it up, leafed through the manual, and then found that apparently the sets striking ceramic exterior that complements every kitchen had really better complement new kitchens with glass or ceramic flat cooktops, because it is unsuitable for those cooktops in that there is a high risk of its becoming permanently fused to them if accidently overheated, placed too warm on a cold cooktop, or possible visa/versa. So if you have a gas stove, or an electric stove with coils, you are ok, but if you have one of the popular new stovetops where the burners are part of the same flat surface, you cannot use this cookware. Unfortunately, this is not part of the current product description. The manufacturer would not help me even though I feel this is more of their fault. They have some tiny icons on the side of the box indicating what stovetops the cookware does work with, but not what stovetops it does not. Amazon was great and payed for return shipping and I have suggested they update the product description. I do not think the general public is aware of these issues, and although some might have become aware by reading the manual for a new stovetop, others who received the stovetop when buying or renting a property, or who may upgrade their stovetop in the near future, or who are buying the set as a gift, are unlikely to be aware.

This is my first set of cookware as I've moved into my first apartment. The pots and pans are just the right size for 3-4 person dinners. It's made of great material and I have enjoyed the product thus far.

I love this set! I purchased it in red and it is a very nice shade, not bright red. I use them on my burnerless stove and have no problems, but I don't cook on super-high heat, either. They are very easy to clean, and the manufacturer doesn't recommend using cooking spray because it is simply NOT needed. I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 because the pan sizes are much smaller than I expected, and three of them are similar in size. Otherwise, a great buy and a very well-made set of cookware!

I was looking for red cookware that had the spout feature with lid on the sauce pans for cooking and draining vegtables, and dishing up oat meal, and pouring out hot apple cider. I knew in advance that this cookware did not have that feature. I bought this set anyway and found a small red sauce pan and another stainless steel sauce pan with the spout feature on them. I use this Farberware cook set daily and I am overjoyed with the way it looks on my stove and in my kitchen. They cook evenly and clean up easy. The color of the pans have made me smile and I have felt joyful in the same way that Christmas lights brighten the season.

I've known that insulated baking sheets are great at preventing cookies from browning at the edges. But I'd never considered what effect an insulated baking pan might have on a cake.

I found out when my mother baked a cake using one of these pans. Of course there were no brown edges--no surprise there. But because the edges of the cake hadn't cooked more quickly than the center, the entire cake surface had risen evenly and beautifully. The cake was level. No crown! This is beyond good news for amateur cake decorators like myself.

I'm thrilled that the pan comes with a storage lid, as well. I've spent way too many years fighting plastic wrap.

This is my favorite pan. The AirBake works better than any other pan I've found so far in preventing the bottom of the cake/brownies from overcooking. I highly recommend it.

Excellent baking pan evenly baked the cake batter. Do note the size listed as its not the standard size for most recipes on the smaller end.

I have three 9x13 cake pans with lids as well as 2 lg cookie sheets. I have had these products for years(15 at least). I use them all the time and swear by them. There is only one thing wrong with them. The covers for the cake pans are plastic and won't last as long as the pans. I wish you could buy just the lids.
