I bought the Innova Kitchen Basics 2-quart covered sauce pan a few weeks ago from Amazon. I'm absolutely thrilled with it. I use the 2-quart size almost daily. It's heavy, cooks evenly, has cool handles. I recommend this line of cookware. I am going to order the one and three quart sizes soon.

Reviews of Kinetic Kitchen Basics Series Stainless Steel 2-Quart Covered
For the amount paid for this pan, it was well worth it. I do wish I had waited and paid more for a heavier pan---the lid feels substantial but the pan itself is a bit lightweight.
Reviews of Presto Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring/Automatic Air Vent Pack (6
The 'orginal' rubber seal on the cooker had cooked its last roast. The rubber seal was shot, and would not maintain a seal when cooking. My first thought was to throw away this rather old cooker, but thought I'd try to find a replacement seal. A few key strokes and checking the model number on the cooker, to what Amazon had on screen, and I was ordering a new seal. The wait time was less than expected and we had the new one "in hand" before the next Sunday's dinner.
Now putting it ON was a challenge. Of course I cleaned the lid of the cooker, making sure it was completely clear of any of the "old" rubber seal.
Next installing the new seal. You ever try to put a 15" tire on a 14" rim. That's what it was like. AS I would work the seal into the groove in the lid, the last inch or so would move away from where I was working. After a lot of effort, maybe a little cussing, and lot of frustration, I was ready to send this darn seal back to from where it came from.
One more effort, first: went to the work shop and brought back a couple clamps. Put the 1st clamp at the last point I'd worked the seal to, and secured it. Placed the second clamp at the other end of the bulging seal and clamped it. Then I tried to squeeze the bulge into the lid. After several more attempts, I realized that I had to allow the seal to "back up" as it was being installed. Sprayed some cooking oil on the lid, reinserted the seal and used only 1 clamp and it (seal) FINALLY went into place.
I immediately put the lid on the "pot" and twisted the lid into "lock position". Then set down and had a cup of coffee. Whew! No, it wasn't easy to install, but dinner that Sunday was worth the effort.
after all these years. Mine is 50 years old.
the product numbers changed. But with some google searches
and research this was the right ring for an older pressure cooker.

Not a mesh chinois at all. It's a China cap; a solid metal cone with holes stamped into it.
It's well made, solid, and beautiful. Good piece of equipment.
But don't be fooled by the picture I think it's the low resolution of the photo that makes it look like this has a mesh screen, like a chinois.
But it doesn't.
Had to return it.

Both the stand and the wooden "pusher" are great. The holes are too large for what I was originally intending to use the chinois for, which was making seedless raspberry jam, but I will still use it for other recipes. I probably would not have bought it if I could have seen a good picture of the holes.Best Deals for Fox Run 3-Piece Stainless-Steel Chinois Set
This would have worked perfectly if the strainer holes were a little smaller. I used mine to make tomato juice and there was a little too much pulp caused by the holes being just a tad too big.Honest reviews on Fox Run 3-Piece Stainless-Steel Chinois Set
So, this is actually a china cap, not a chinois. Although the picture shown is a mesh seive, ie chinois, the product shipped is a perforated steel, collander type set up which is actually a china cap. Great for straining soup but not for custards, fruit purees etc.Had to return it.

I you are envisioning the huge light weight aluminum "china cap/chinois" that grandma had...this is not it LOL! This one is 7 inches tall, 7 inches around. It works very well and fits into a large cooking pot; no need to strain foods in another container and then transfer to a pot. I love the stand rim design...slotted so the handle of the chinois does not slip around while you are working! This is very sturdy stainless steel construction and a bit heavier than grandma's old aluminum set; it is designed to last!Sunday, November 9, 2014

To update some early reviews stating that this pan is not induction ready. Received my pan yesterday and gave it the magnet test on arrival in case I needed to return it. It passed the magnet test which relieved my anxiety after reading some of the circa 2011 reviews that created doubt. Cooked breakfast this morning in this pan using my just purchased Duxtop 8300ST and everything worked great. Love this pan. Nice to not have a big handle sticking out which can make cooking unsafe. Also using an induction cooker keeps the short handles at a safe temp for handling. Another bonus that I did not realize with portable induction cooking is that trying to simmer in windy conditions is absolutely no problem. I live in a very windy area (near the Pacific coast) and trying to cook outside on a gas burner (barbecue side burner) is problematic as the flame keeps blowing around and will blow out at a low simmer setting. Induction cooking eliminates these problems completely. Once you are ready to simmer you can be assured it will stay simmering without having to baby it.Thursday, November 6, 2014

I've used the Kitchenaid hard anodized cookware for more than 5 years and continue to love them. They're a good, solid weight with durable glass lids. There are of course many less expensive sets available, but those typically won't hold up under heavy use.
Hard anodizing does not involve Teflon or any other applied coating; it's a process of submerging the aluminum in acid, then charging it with an electrical current which causes a corrosion-resistant coating of oxidization to build up. Hard anodized cookware is considered to be stick resistant but not completely nonstick. It is supposedly healthier since there's no (possibly carcinogenic) coating that can flake off into your food. Who knows.
If you use the cookware on high heat, after a while the black color on the exterior starts to turn ashy/spotty and the inside develops small fissures in the coating. The pots are still stick resistant, but not as much as when they were new. I'd say they're very durable but they're not going to be passed on through generations like a well-seasoned cast iron pan might be.
The pans are very sturdy but they're also heavyweights; if you have hand pain or weakness when grasping, they might not be for you.
I'm happy enough with them that I'll continue to re-order the same thing whenever I need a replacement or supplemental size.
Update It's been a while now and they're still performing perfectly. I feel an obligation to make fun of the people that gave these a one star rating because "a magnet won't stick to them" ... Yes, they're aluminum, Einstein. And, to the other person that was upset because their electric stove discoloured the bottom....Sigh. I guess some people will never be happy with anything. I wonder if they realize a real set of cookware can cost upwards of $1k. For 100 bucks, these are awesome. Don't expect a bmw when you're buying a toyota, know what I mean?

I usually write longer reviews but this one is pretty simple. The pots and pans are a very good deal for the money. Considering that this entire set costs what just one professional pan could cost, it's worth it. The pieces are light and strong, cook evenly, clean easily and are built well. They're about the same as the low-end Calphalon lines you see in the store but about half the price. I bought these pots when i was moving into my first apartment on my own, sick of using crappy pans and pots. that was about 2.5 years ago. I treat my pans well though i use them often but these are still like brand new with nonstick intact and easy cleanup. I highly recommend them. my mom got a gift of two calphalon pots which usually run 40-50 for the set and they after a year did not hold up well at all, i think this set is a MUCH better deal.Honest reviews on KitchenAid Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set

I received this set as a gift and I looove it. It pretty much has everything I needed. I like the fact that the lids are clear so I can see my food's progress without loosing heat. I was a little concerned at first about the fact that the lids didn't have a steam release hole in them, but quite frankly, they don't need one. They sit on top of your pot or pan prefectly; letting out steam easily and without jiggling. These pans are the perfect weight, not too heavy, but not flimsy in the least. I love that the handles are heat resistant. My frittatas slide out of the pan with ease and cook evenly.Saturday, September 27, 2014

I'm quite upset that I wasted two very expensive free range chicken breasts in this pressure cooker. I followed the recipe (which came in the booklet with the cooker) to the T and kept wondering, "why isn't this coming to pressure?" I was googling that question when I started smelling burning. Opened the cooker to 1/2 cooked chicken and burned sauce. ALSO I bought from these folks the cookbook Pressure Perfect paid over 20 dollars for it and it came with a stamp on it that said "Compliments of Kuhn Rikon, Switzerland". So these folks took a freebie and charged me a lot for it when I could have bought it cheaper used on Amazon, or perhaps the manufacturer meant for it to come free with the cooker. Not a good experience. And here is the response from the vendor buyer beware: we do not accept any returns of items that have been used and taken out of the box. if you have any questions concerning the item and how to use properly or any warrantee information, please contact the company lequip and they will take care of you and the warranty.

Minosharp 3 Sharpener Black/Red Review
I understand 3/21/11 review comments about blade scratches. He/she didn't seem overly concerned. I find them troublesome. Problem is dirt build up along edge of plastic grooves. Watch for it, clean with solvent or household cleaner, and no scratches.

Hearthware - Induction Cooktop Kit Reviews
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $99.99

I was familiar with the advantages of induction cooking, but couldn't afford a new range. My wife and I bought the 2 for 1 set, with the two pans, pot, and fondue kit, but I also added one 10 piece cookware set. I assumed the cooktop would work nicely, and looked forward to having more precise control to cook with.
I expected the cookware to be adequate, but nothing special. When I got the two sets, plus extra pot set, I was pleasantly surprised. On first inspection, the cookware looked very well made. Heavy from the ferrous core, but thin and light where it needs to be. The glass lids are very nice, and better quality than the Calphalon lids that came with my old Anodized cookware. Those had gobs of rubber under the distorted rivets, and uneven rims. The NuWave lids are much more refined and precise. I like that they are vented, too.
After cooking with this set for months now, I am very impressed. No sticking issues whatsoever, and without the toxins that are in normal non-stick coatings. In fact, I think the ceramic works better than most other coatings. The handles are really nice, and other than some slight discoloring from gas use, the polished outsides still look great. No complaints.
The cooktop works, although the small element seems to take longer to heat the larger pots and pans. I tested boiling water, and found no real speed advantage, but I know I used a lot less energy to do so. While the gas stove poured huge amounts of excess heat up around the sides of the pot, the NuWave only heated the pot itself. Even then the edge of the glass top remained cool enough to touch. (I don't recommend that, though, just in case). After my wife tried to make rosettes on the stove, and failed, I suggested the NuWave. She was able to make perfect rosettes then with the precise temperature control, and never discolored or burned the oil.
Nice cooktop, than can be used almost anywhere there is a plug, and very nice cookware.
Actually all three of these functions work reasonably well with a little trial and error and calibration. But four problems
1. Noisy, cooling fan is as loud or louder as a hair dryer on low.
2. The pot must be solid steel or iron to conduct. Even well made stainless steel with aluminum cores will not work, steel not thick enough.
3. Limited power transfer. Tried using a 3/16ths thick cast iron comal as a plate to place the stainless on. Heat transfer very slow. Tried cooking with a cast iron skillet, took nearly ten minutes to reach egg frying temps. Tried cooking in a low carbon steel flat bottomed wok. Not as effecient as direct gas flame.
4. The above three pieces of cookware were the only ones that I have that would work at all on the cooktop. So short of buying a complete new set of cookware, I would not be using it. If the thing were not so noisy, I would consider buying a solid steel stock pot to cook long cooking time items. That seems to be the best use for this.
I know Heartware sells the cookware for this, but from what I can tell it is all non-stick coated. After having wasted money on all the Circulon and similiar "coated" cookware, I will never buy anything other than cast iron (non-stick forever), low carbon woks (best non-stick cookware ever) and durable stainless steel.

I bought this cooktop for three reasons. 1: to be able to accurately control cooling temps for long slow cooking at around 205 F. 2: to be able to control temps for deep frying in minimal oil. 3: to be able to stage the cooking times at different temperatures, like cooking grains and beans by starting at a boil and reduce and simmer automatically.Actually all three of these functions work reasonably well with a little trial and error and calibration.

My stove broke and I used regular portable burners to cook. They were very slow. My mom has a PIC that I had used previously and I really liked it. I can't get the parts to fix my stove for another 3 weeks so I ordered a PIC for myself. It is AWESOME! Precise heat quick response and works just like it says. I also love the frying pan. I would love a whole set! My order was delivered in 3 DAYS with regular shipping. I am impressed with everything about this purchase. There is just one thing you need to be aware of. This cook top only works the items that a magnet will stick to. So if you have other cookware that a magnet won't stick to the bottom of then it won't work with this cook top.Saturday, June 21, 2014

I was excited when I saw this particular pot rack becuase I needed something to match the rest of the pewter and brushed nickel finishes in my kitchen. The description clearly says "antique pewter finish" and it claimed to have "8 movable hooks." When it arrived, though, the box said "faux pewter finish" because it was simply a steel unit spray painted gray.
The image shown of the item isn't very accurate because it gives the impression that the hooks can be placed anywhere on the supporting grid that makes up the bookshelf (it also shows 10 hooks, not 8). Actually, the hooks can only be placed around the edges of the rack because the steel grid pieces are too wide for the top of each hook to go around them and still hang vertically. Because all of the hooks hang along the edge and all of my Calphalon cookware hangs facing out by design, the effect is a "wall" of pots and pans hanging parallel to the wall and out into the room like ornaments on a tree.
I suppose I could have used some welding gear to heat the small end of the hooks up to a point where I could have made them wide enough to hang anywhere on the rack, but c'mon. Also, if you've got any hope of this moutning flush and cleanly to a wall without shims, stop now before you feel the urge to pound a hammer into something delicate.
Keep looking, folks.
I returned it for a full refund.
When you tried to tighten the sheetrock hangers that I had to buy separately they pulled out of the sheet rock.
the whole thing was so poorly made I would of sent it back but now I had 6 holes in my wall. Very unpleased
then the pot hangers that where pictured on the middle beam of the rack would not fit there because they where not bent properly. so we had to hang them on the front edge. If you are shopping for a pot rack don't buy this one I wished I hadn't.

It is beautiful in the picture....no so much in person. I returned it because of it's poor quality and it's not pewter.Best Deals for Old Dutch International Antique Pewter Bookshelf and Pot Rack
I cut my hand on this just unboxing it. The metal banding that holds the loops on were very sharp and loosely attached. The welded portions were very crooked and looked like they were welded by a 10 year old blind chinese kid. Which, if they had been, I might have had some pity and kept the rack.I returned it for a full refund.

The screws that are with it are worthless and there are lots of sharp edges. It is easy to put up.
