This is a very heavy attractive tea kettle. Really good for my purpose, which is to use it as a humidifier on top of my pellet stove. Thanks

If you like us on the river with a wood burning stove and need that extra moisture in the air this is you best bet! This is in no way to be used for anything consumable however... Within a week of water being inside and on the stove the inside rusted out.

Again, perfect for what it needs to be used for

I bought this as a gift for my girl friend who lives in the mountians and has been looking for one to put on her wood burning stove. I also bought the cast iron trivet 8 inch in diameter by old mountain that has the three prongs on it. It is for her Christmas gift this year. I know she is going to love it.

I bought this item for my father who is like me and loves cast iron cookware. He is basically a gourmet cook and has every gadget in his kitchen, you could think of. But, he doesnt have this! So, I thought great birthday gift for the man who has everything. He loves it! He said it is huge in size and can feed an army, but cooks well and can hold anything you plan on cooking from stews to fish to gumbo, etc. Goes from stovetop to oven, and back again. Cleans up great with some hot water and a stiff brush and a little seasoning to keep it rust free. I bought myself one and can hardly wait until it arrives!

The great thing about this piece of cookware is that you do not have to scrape the bottom of the pot to be sure you get everything mixed together.

Circulon is an excellent brand. But, ultimately, what can one say about a pot. It works. It exceeds all demands. I bought it at about 1/2 price down from regular retail (don't you just love Amazon). Other than the fact that the design of the lid's and pot's handle is a bit screwy, it is a small complaint.

Oh, they say you shouldn't put this in the dishwasher. Actually, just don't put detergent in the machine if you do. The detergent causes the anodizing to discolor which leaves a milky or bleached appearance to the exterior. It does not affect perfomance in any way. It just doesn't look as nice. They got a lot of complaints when people would put them in the dishwasher, so they added that warning. Personally, I do it all of the time. I just don't add detergent. I just loosen anything that is stuck-on and then run the machine on the anti-bacterial cycle (KitchenAid). Comes out looking great.

The handle is hallow and the connection to the pot is not sealed. When the pot is washed the handle fills up with waqter. It then leaks out into the drawer or worse when the pot is heated it will squirt water all over the stove top.

Works great and nothing sticks! Awesome product that is totally worth the price. Evenly heats and my electric range doesn't mark up the bottom. I hand wash my hard anodized cookware. Be aware if you place them in the dishwasher and two hard anodized pots scrape, they will damage one another.

Honest reviews on Circulon Contempo Hard Anodized Nonstick 4-1/2-Quart Covered Saucier

This has been a work horse of a pot for my family .

I use it for frying which is not what most nonstick surfaces are for.

It has performed flawlessly for three full years and its ctoninuing to.

No handle issues but due note it is a long one. Hanging ring is smartly embedded in the end of its rubberized tip. The fact that the pot has two handles helps when trying to remove oil for straining.

Lid has survived nicely thanks to most manufacturers smartening up and giving glass lids that steel band.

Now to remove oil from that band or anywhere on this pot's exterior I suggest a great Brillo pad and some Swiss cleaner Kuhn Rikon Swiss Cleaner--Paste 7-ounce be on hand as Walnut and Corn oil both adhere to any surface (including arteries) like mad.

For such a low price I can't say anything bad about this cooking tool.

I bought these cups because they have a ring clasp that allows you to separate the cups. A lot of measuring cups do not have the clasp. The cups are solid and sturdy, but somewhat heavy. They will last forever!

If you have any notion that these are like the one you get at the grocery store or other home goods store, think again. These are heavy, professional grade measuring cups with thick, long handles. I was tired of buying the cheap ones and having to throw them away after one dropped and got bent. I'm pretty sure I'll never need to buy another set after getting these. Good price too.

At first I loved the Zyliss Mix-N-Measure Stackable Measuring Cup Set with Lid. It's attractive, it stacks, it pours well, and it's light weight. I have not used the lid, however I appreciate the inclusion as it would be useful for some people I'm sure. Now that I've had the set about six month, I am noticing that the red lettering (which is a little hard to see anyway) is wearing off. Up until now, my biggest complaint would be the red lettering. But I can see that the set will eventually be useless as far as accurate measuring is concerned. I'm very disappointed as I looked around a long time before choosing this set, which was not inexpensive. Also be aware that it cannot be washed in the dishwasher, nor can it go into a microwave. Needing to handwash was okay with me, but the microwave restriction was limiting.

I love these measuring cups! They nest perfectly and take up little space in the cupboards. They perform as advertised and make it easy to read the amount of liquid in the cup, while the cup is sitting on the counter. No more having to wait for liquid to settle down and level while you hold the cup in the air.

Best Deals for Zyliss Mix-n-Measure Set with Lid

I bought these because I wanted a liquid measuring cup larger than 2 cups and the stacking ability appealed to me.

First it is a little strange to be able to peer down into the cup and see the measurement. The plus is that it is on the side as well.

The lid only fits the 4 cup measurer which for me was the cup I have used the least.

The most upsetting aspect of these cups is that the red writing has not held up. I have never washed them in the dishwasher and yet the writing on the most frequently used 1 cup measurer is now illegible which has made it useless for measure.

After this experience, I have decided that glass still makes the best liquid measuring cups.

Do not waste your money on this product.

Honest reviews on Zyliss Mix-n-Measure Set with Lid

I like Zyliss products. We have the garlic press, pizza cutter, chip clips, etc. But these measuring cups haven't held up. They're not microwave-safe, which is fine. But they do claim to be dishwasher safe. But after less than a year of regular use, the measurements are wearing off the cups. And apparently this isn't because we put them in the dishwasher, because another reviewer, who hand-washes his, is having the same problem. I'm disappointed. I've used both Pyrex and Anchor-Hocking glass measuring cups without a problem for years. They're not stackable, but they are microwave-safe, and the lettering has never worn off. Back to glass for me.

I did a lot of research on measuring cups first. I didn't want glass ones--too heavy and they can break. I didn't want cheap plastic ones either--they discolor and don't hold up. These Zyllis cups are perfect. You get 3 different sizes which nest together for easy storage. They are easy to read and made of high quality material. The handle design makes them easy and comfortable to use. They are also bright red which matches all my kitchen accessories. The only place I found them was on Amazon.com. I am really pleased with these measuring cups and would recommend them to anyone.

This pan is the same design and manufacture of the smaller 8", 10" and 12" Carbon Steel pre-seasoned skillets from Lodge. Formerly only producing cast iron-only cooking utensils, Lodge adds these carbon steel pans which are a hit with professional chefs already and will add to your cookware collection with great benefits.

This 15" pan mimics the Spanish-style Paella pan with the wide cooking surface and sloped, shallow sides, making it easy to sautee meats and vegetables. The two handles make it easy to carry from stove to table for direct serving.

Heat the skillet slowly, add a generous amount of cooking oil (I have started using only light olive oil or EVOO and sometimes with a combination of a pat of butter; Do not use spray...the soy lecithin leaves that nasty, brown gunk-like residue) and enjoy a great pan. Wash with hot water and a brush. Try not to use dish detergent unless absolutely needed and for goodness sakes, keep it out of the dishwasher. Re-heat the pan on the stove, drop some light olive oil (or flax oil) in the pan, get it hot, wipe it down with a paper towel and let it cool. The pan's seasoning will continue to develop over the years, just like the cast iron pans.

I purchased this skillet through Amazon's MyHabit site. I was happy with it taking it out of the box and anxious to use it, but unfortunately mine arrived warped. The center is convex shaped, rising above the outside edges. All oils and liquids run to the edges and pool there, scorching what is in the center. After three attempts to cook various things with it, I've deemed it unusable because it is impossible to heat evenly and, therefore, cook evenly. Maybe I just received a lemon. Too bad.

We grilled veggies on this pan this weekend. Some grill seasoning, fresh herbs, basalmic vinegar, olive oil and voila! This pan sizzled and brought out all their awesome flavors. The pan is large enough for a crowd, or we put enough on for about 4 people and there was plenty of room to spare. Of course, you need good oven mitts to take it off the grill as it will be very hot. I always look for versatility when I buy my kitchenware and this pan meets my standards! I can use it on the grill, in the oven or over a camp fire. Roomie enough for meat and veggies for a one skillet meal. For my oven, the pan is a bit large for one burner, but it could be done--but why cook on the stove when you can use your grill?

I was looking for a pan to replace my non-stick frying pan because of the research I have seen that shows the non-stick surface is a health hazard. I have used cast iron in the past, but even seasoned, cleaning was difficult it seemed. This pan cleans easily with a stiff brush. I cooked scrambled eggs and didn't get to clean the pan until it was cold. I put a little water in the pan, heated it just 3-4 minutes, used the stiff brush, and good as new!

I read that spraying with Pam was a good idea before each use, and I have done that.

I am definitely going to be buying more of these pieces,

My Grandmother had a Waring Blendor. My Mother had a Waring Blendor. Why did I have to BUY one instead of "borrowing" one of theirs? Because they gave them away to get "lighter", i.e., cheap, plastic blenders, back in the early eighties. Big mistake. My grandmother died before she had to replace hers, but my mother is on her third cheap blender now. I expect my Waring Blendor to last the rest of my life. Fortunately, I was able to get my grandmother's Waring Blendor Cookbook from the forties. The current model still has the powerful motor, heavy glass container, super-duper cord and top-quality switch that my grandmother's had, sixty-odd years ago.

I also picked up one at Goodwill to have an extra pitcher to make two kinds of frozen drinks when I have a party. It is about forty years old but still works great, and it was obviously used quite a bit. (I only wish I had found it before I bought a new one!) The container still fits the base on the current model.

Makes fruit juice like a juicer, makes the best milk shakes, daquiries, gazpacho; it can even whip cream for dessert or froth milk for fancy coffee drinks! You can make a thick, creamy milkshake with milk, a frozen banana, a couple of ice cubes, and a little chocolate powder. You can even pre-chill the container in the freezer to make sorbet.

The secret difference: this Blendor creates a tornado in the center of the container, ensuring that everything gets evenly mixed. According to my Waring Blendor Cookbook, this is because of the unique four-leaf clover shape of the container, the shape of the no-rust stainless blades, and the high-powered motor.

You can use a wooden spoon through the hole in the top to make sure ice cubes get properly mixed if you find that to be a problem. (If you add ice cubes one or two at a time to the container with liquid already in blending on high, you will have the smoothest frozen beverage you have ever had with NO leftover ice chunks.)

The easiest way to clean it is to fill it 1/4 to 1/3 full of water, add ONE drop of dishwashing detergent, PUT THE LID ON, blend, shake and rinse.

Sure, it is a little loud (brings back memories of my childhood!) and if you drop the glass container on your foot, you'll be sorry, for your foot, because the container probably will never break. Notice that none of the Waring Blendor's detractors suggest an alternative.

If it isn't in the MOMA collection of Twentieth Century Industrial Design, it should be.

Buy a Waring Blendor and you'll never have to buy another blender. And neither will your children.

I'm not sure what's going on here, cuz half these reviews seem to say it works great. I decided to make a daquiri using the simple recipe of a Bacardi mixer, rum and ice. I've done this in an el cheapo Osterizer by pre-crushing the ice with an ice crusher. The selling point for this was that I could just put in the ice cubes and skip the extra step.

I heard the same loud noise, and the same funky smells, as other reviewers. Further, looking at the rubber-covered wheel on the base which is supposed to drive the blades, the rubber was peeled and disintegrated, and moreover, there were small chips of metal all over the place. After one use.

I have difficulty believing that this is just a fluke, especially with these other reviews.

I wouldn't call this product "Professional" at all, and I'm surprised that Waring is still trying to sell it.

Best Deals for Waring Pro Professional 40-Ounce Glass Bar Blender

We're a small restaurant (16 seats), serving dinner 4 nights a week, and we use the blender for soups, Caesar dressing, etc., once or twice a week, but never use ice in it or anything like that. We've had two of this same model now, and had the same problem with both of them. The black collar, the part of the base where you set the container, is plastic, and on both blenders has broken. The first time it lasted almost a year, and we figured that wasn't too bad -especially when you compare the cost to a true commercial/professional blender, which are $300+. Also, we really like the blender in terms of function, so we picked up another one. This time, the exact same thing happene, except that the collar cracked within 2 weeks!!

My other complaint is that I found Waring Customer Service to be disinterested & unhelpful -especially because I contacted them about buying a new model, not about problems with the one we had. I saw a model on their website but no purchasing info was listed; I emailed to find out where to purchase, and the rep seemed almost inconvenienced by my inquiry.

Honest reviews on Waring Pro Professional 40-Ounce Glass Bar Blender

As a blender, it works well, with the celebrated two speeds, which are more than adequate for my blending and pureeing needs. The design is pleasing, the base is well weighted and the container is easy to lift off and put back on the base. Having been exposed to the "twist and lock" Osterizers in the past, just plunking it down and clicking on the switch took a little getting used to, but I think I like it. The handle is the only thing that isn't up to the standard of the rest of the blender, it's slippery and not very ergonomic. I have held other, much more secure feeling and slipless handles, but on the upside, glass is easy to clean. It's also part of the whole "look" of this blender, so I don't expect the handle to improve anytime soon.

Take a look at it in the store before buying it, it's expensive, and you might get a better deal for your money with another brand. But if you would like something on the pretty boy side as well as functional, consider this model. If you're in this price range anyway, maybe the self-cleaning models without the whole blade/rubber gasket combo (as easy as it might be, this gets to be a pain for just a smoothie in the morning) might be worth a serious look.

I have always thought highly of Waring blenders. I was so excited when I was finally able to afford one. But, when I received mine there were two gaps in the top where the pour-through portion of the cap goes. Each time I started the blender, liquid would shoot out through these two holes. I called Waring, and they sent me another top, but it had the same problem. I eventually sent it back. It also didn't crush ice that well.

Cheap Staub Mini Frying Pan, 4oz, 4 _ ", Black Matte

Staub Mini Frying Pan, 4oz, 4 _ ', Black Matte
Customer Ratings: 5 stars
Buy Now
I own three of these mini pans. I own two 9" inch and two 11" Staub skillets as well. Overall, I own 23+ pieces by Staub. I own Le Creuset and I sell and own Vollrath commercial nonstick cookware for a living and I cook. Staub's greatest strength is browning meat and sauteing vegetables. Eggs are tricky in these pans but worth it if you know how to use them.

The Caveat: You must understand how these pans take heat and break them in with a proper seasoning, not curing, before using on a daily basis, especially if you want to do eggs. These pans should be in every home simply for what they represent in quality and performance.

I"m going to set forth the proper way to season and clean pans because I've never found one person who gets it right. I know, you want my credentials. I learned the proper way to season pans and clean pans on the job cooking 10 hours a day 10 days in a row, 25 weeks a year. The mindless repetition of my job taught me how pans take heat and how to clean them. Oddly enough, I discovered my pans worked better longer when I DIDN'T clean them with water. Wiping them out with dry paper towels while the pans were still hot was the quickest easiest way to clean them. I noticed they didn't get that tacky yellow tar that has to be scrubbed out of a pans. Being that I sell nonstick this was a revelation because tar is the enemy to nonstick pans. Tar causes sticking even in nonstick pans. So, there was an even larger revelation to this because it applies to all cookware except cast iron which has to have tar on it to keep it from rusting.

First, enamel is porous and these pours MUST be treated a few times with oil so food doesn't deposit into the pours which eventually would damage the surface of the pans.

The seasoning process does two things. It deposits the oil in the pours but more importantly it teaches you about how the pans take heat. It creates a learning curve and brings you way up the curve. So don't dismiss the process. Cast iron needs very little heat to get hot. Remember that.

Warm the pan on low heat and pour about 2mm of olive oil in the bottom of the pan and wipe it all the way up the sides with a rag. Swirling the hot oil up the sides is the easiest way to do this. Add more oil if needed keeping at least 2mm in the bottom at all times. While massaging the warm oil around the pan with paper towel or rag be careful not to burn your fingers. Olive oil means olive oil. Low heat means your lowest setting. Do this for at least five minutes on low heat all the time massaging the oil all the way up the sides. You never want to smoke the oil because that means you are burning oil and depositing carbon in the pours of the pans. The oil should only shimmer a little. Pay attention. Watch for the shimmer of the oil. Now after five minutes turn up the heat to medium-low always swirling the hot oil up the sides to the rim. The pours are still opening even though you are now bored with the process. After ten minutes turn off the heat and keep massaging and swirling the oil as it cools. Wipe dry and do NOT wash. REPEAT at least ONE more time before cooking. Now, personally, after the two olive oil treatments I buy a whole duck and render duck fat in every pan I buy for the first cooked meal. It's a right of passage for all my enamel. Yes, I I love duck but more importantly it's the best type of fat for enamel. I don't expect you to buy a duck but duck fat is the best fat you can season a pan with after you do the initial olive oil treatments. And, it will put you at the top of the learning curve. What you will learn during this process is how hot the pans get and you will notice a medium-low flame on cast iron goes a very long way. Medium heat could almost be very hot and you will probably scorch food if you don't pay attention.

Always wipe dry with a paper towel and never pour water in a hot pan to deglaze. That forms tar in the pan which is gummy and eventually turns black. Oil is not water soluble so dismiss the deglazing myth. Once cool wash in warm soapy water and dry immediately.

In closing always wipe a tablespoon of olive oil in a cold pan before cooking and always wipe clean, as much as possible, while still hot. Do not be worried about a mess still being in the pan even after you wipe it with a dry paper towel. Wiping the pans is important because it removes a lot of material that WOULD end up becoming tar. Every little bit removed while hot will help. Then later, after the pan has cooled down to room temperature wash in warm soapy water. They should have a beautiful shine to them. Good luck.

The unit itself is nice. Well cast. Legs are solid, lid fits well. Although the lid pictured was not the one I received. The one that came with it was move of a 'domed' with the handle not the one pictured with the lip around the edge. The lip can be important for some due to putting and keeping hot coals on top for more even cooking. If I hadn't needed it for a trip, I wouldn't have seasoned it and would have returned it for one with the lipped lid. So if you're going to purchase one, ask questions first to see which you're going to get.

This was a compromise, but it worked out very well. I definitely wanted a board with a "blood groove" all the way around it, and my wife wanted a board with a totally flat surface. this has both, so you can just turn it on the side you want. That's a big plus, in my house.

I especially like the size of it. Big enough to carve a full size turkey on, yet small enough to fit in most any storage place.

A very high quality cutting board, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

My husband is quite the cook (and especially likes to grill) and I really wanted to get him a nice cutting board with a deep trench for father's day. We have only had this cutting board since June and it is not used every night. Already there are multiple splits on both ends of the board. I have had my cheap bed bath and beyond cutting boards last longer then this expensive heavy cutting board did. Needless to say I will never buy a John Boos board again. I am very disappointed about the quality because I love how they look and some day when I had a bigger kitchen was planning on buying one of their big butcher blocks. However, now I will look else where.

Nice solid cutting board, great for cutting stuff like tomatoes and watermelon and a lot easier than plastic boards to clean after cutting raw meats. Have had it for about a month so far and it has been in use almost every day.

Honest reviews on John Boos 18-by-12-Inch Maple BBQ Board

Considering how much we paid for this, and all the hype from celebs about it, I am disappointed with this product. Like a fine piece of wood furniture, I expected it to be smooth and soft to the touch. It is not. The edges are rounded but the grain is rough and it's rough around the "handle" grooves. Even after rubbing it down with their special protecting cream, I still wouldn't want to run my hand down it. We've just received it recently so I can't comment yet on the longevity. I also find it inconvenient that it is so large and heavy. When I'm just quickly chopping a few veggies, I still always reach for my smaller boards. They do produce one smaller board, but most of the reviews of it were very poor so I didn't bother with it. This one would be perfect if it was just cut in half (I'm actually considering having my husband do that but not sure if that would ruin the longevity?) Overall, I was expecting to be really wowed by this item and I was not.

Does not fit tightly on pan. There is a waveyness to the outer rim that does not let it sit evenly. I have to put weight on it to make it fit somewhat better. Had a hard time finding this size, so I will make due.

The dome height is good, the diameter is perfect for my 12.5" iron skillet (actually the lid is 12 and 9/16 inches 1/16 larger than 12.5 which is a good thing). The metal is thin and bendable by hand, however. Mine arrived with a pretty bad bend in the outer lip. I was able to flatten it back down with my bare hands rather easily though, so it's still useable. Be aware that depending on the way it's packaged, it may not arrive in good shape.

This isn't a silicone coated spoon, but the green edge is silicone. I was hoping for a coated spoon because I have a habit of leaving the spoon in the pot. I've been careful with this so I can't say how heat resistant the plastic is.

It's a nice spoon, but it's not entirely made of soft silicone. Only the edges of the bowl are soft, which makes me worry a little about how the hard plastic parts (most of the spoon) will hold up over time, and whether they're as heat resistant as the silicone. The colors are an exact match to the picture, and the length and bowl size are very convenient for stirring hot food. To be honest, I've gotten other spoons I like more (completely silicone, with a solid core), but for the price, it's not a bad spoon.

I purchased other Chef'n FreshForce items and like all of them. I purchased some quality non-stick cookware last year and did not want to damage the non-stick surface. This item and my other Chef'n Fresh utensils work great, the 400 degree working temperature insures no burned or sticking residue in the pan or pot. My wife and I both like the color and the size, i.e. length, is just right.

Very handy for a small apartment with a smaller kitchen.

Functional for one person. So far it's held up beautifully.

I use this every morning to make eggs, its non stick surface works great.. The eggs come right of the pan without getting messed up. The orange color is getting dark however. But i dont mind as long as it makes good eggs.

Bought this for my 21 year old college student niece. This will be perfect for her. Definitely a ONE person pan but I think will be great since she's living in a dorm apartment with not a lot of space. Wish I had this when I was in college.

I am using it very frequently and works perfect for me. The non stick is pretty durable. Size and the handle is well designed. Overall very good.

This little gem is just right for scrambling 2 or 3 large eggs in. Easy to clean under the tap, with a sponge & warm water. No problem with food sticking to it.
