Reviews of Le Creuset Heritage Stoneware 4 1/2qt Covered Bean Pot, Flame
WOW!! I received this as a present and I could not be happier with it. I made baked beans today that even my husband, the bean-o-phobe, loves. This pot cooks the beans evenly, so they're creamy and delicious while still firm. I was also exceptionally pleased with Amazon's customer service on this. The first pot arrived chipped and cracked as the result of poor packaging. Two days later I had a new one that was packed properly and delivered intact. Thank you, Amazon!

Cheap Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Nonstick Stainless Steel Skillet
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $150.00
Sale Price: $69.47

I have owned three different nonstick skillets from Cuisinart over the last 10 years. I have replaced each one after the coating began to decompose from wear and tear. Please note that my first two skillets lasted for what I consider a reasonable and appropriate useful life. I was very happy with both of them. I recently received my third and latest version of this pan. The coating seems excellent and cooking with it is easy and cleanup is a breeze. I am deducting one star in this review because the quality of the handles has decreased from my previous purchases. The handle is now shorter and flimsier. I don't think it will break but it does not afford as solid a grip as the previous handle. The square accessory handle is also now a lighter gauge metal and the finish work on both handles seems of a lesser quality. I would still recommend this pan. It is a good value. Most of my cookware is all-clad or Le Creuset but I can't justify spending the requisite price for all-clad in non-stick when inevitably the coating degenerates. I don't think anyone would be unhappy with this skillet but also wanted to note my concerns with the latest construction.

This is a great pan for a ceramic top range. It's heavy, perfectly flat on the bottom, cooks evenly, cleans like a dream.Best Deals for Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Nonstick Stainless Steel Skillet
We recently bought a new set worth of Cuisinart pots and pans, but did not get non-stick. After using them for a while we decided having some non-stick pans would be helpful for some things. We bought both the 10in and 12in versions of this pan, and both are excellent. Very heavy duty, and the non-stick surface is easy to clean. Highly recommended.Honest reviews on Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Nonstick Stainless Steel Skillet
I purchased two 8-in and one 10-in, the bottoms of all three pans are not flat, but rather concave up about 3/32 in. On a ceramic top stove this results in uneven heating. While others have complained that the construction of the handle is flimsy having been changed from what was previously used, I don't agree. The shape has been changed somewhat, but it is still quite substantial and good looking.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Nonstick Stainless Steel Skillet
I inadvertently left a similar All-Clad stainless steel nonstick pan at a resort timeshare in Myrtle Beach last week and didn't notice until it was way too late to have any chance of recovery. I decided to try a Cuisinart replacement pan and am glad I did. The lost All-Clad pan was starting to loose its nonstick coating, so it really needed replacing. The Cuisinart pan seems to be roughly of equal sturdy construction. Time will tell, but so far I'm impressed by the pan's quality, despite its being made in China.Sunday, January 4, 2015

I started making my own corn tortillas, and at first used a glass pie pan (put dough inbetween two pieces of zip lock plastic, and then squash with the pie plate.) I would have to press hard, and rotate the round pie dish to get the dough to squish out to the right size/thickness. It worked well, but I was afraid I would break the glass dish and cut myself I had to use so much pressure. It was sort of a rocking swirling motion to get it to press out right. It worked, but I had to lean on the plate too much. I had used a skillet bottom, but you couldn't see how big/thin the tortilla was, so if you don't buy this, try a pyrex pie pan on two plastic sheets of ziplock material.
My husband purchased this press for me, and it is so easy to use. I use two pieces of ziplock plastic, cut to fit the press, and my flour (Masa Harina) has a recipe on the back for 4, 8 and 12 torillas. These make balls about the size of a ping pong ball or golf ball. They squeeze out perfectly every time, and I use no pressure at all.
I have read that there are two types of presses: cast iron and aluminum. The aluminum is lighter, but requires more force. The cast iron is heavy, and comes with a "shiny paint job" that comes off with time, according to internet reveiws, but my dough does not touch the press with the plastic sheets, so this is simply cosmetic in my opinion. I did notice some grease on it, but I assumed it was to keep the product from rusting, being that it is iron....you put oil on your cast iron pans for this purpose. It was minimal oil.
To protect my granite counters, I put felt stick-on feet onto the bottom since it is heavy and iron. May not be needed, but it makes me feel better. I could not be more impressed with it, and I can whip out fresh tortillas in about 2 minutes. I had at first told my husband not to get me one, I'd continue with the pie plate, but now I am thrilled to have it. It is effortless. I hate to see that some people had theirs break, or not make thin tortillas, but I imagine it is just a problem with their particular unit. If my tortillas were any thinner, you couldn't get them off of the plastic sheet. If they were thicker, they wouldn't be "right." Hope that makes sense! I like the press, and hope that it lasts. I received it in November, and have used it almost daily, and it is now in January...I haven't seen any issues with the product in that amount of time.
6 MONTH UPDATE
Product is still working great after 6 months. I am going to try wax paper as was suggested by a fellow Amazon shopper, in lieu of the zip lock. I have slowed down making tortillas, so it is not getting "as much use" as it was, but this is merely for waist-line purposes! I'd make them all day, everyday if I could, without getting as big as an ox. It has held up well, and makes excellent tortillas with ease.
In order to avoid contact with the grease (which there from the manufacturing process to prevent the cast iron from rusting not necessarily a bad thing), we took a 1 gallon Ziploc bag (food grade plastic) and cut it at the seams to create two pieces of plastic. We then trimmed the plastic sheets to be slightly larger than the press. This works wonderfully, we only need to peel the pressed tortilla from the plastic sheet and lay it in to the griddle.
We would recommend this press to anyone interested in making their own tortillas, sopes, or other dishes requiring use of a press.
Then we tried the 6.5 inch aluminum press that is also sold here on amazon. It was much better than the plastic one, but we were still disappointed at the size of the tortillas.
This lead us to the 8 inch cast iron press. It's true that it's a little greasy out of the box, but after a quick washing with soap and water, it is good to go. After putting plastic wrap on both pressing surfaces we gave it a try. It presses our tortilla dough as thin as we want it, even too thin if we decide to push it that hard. The size of the tortillas is much better as well. I would recommend this press to anyone that is looking for a quality tortilla press.
It also presses the tortillas paper thin. In fact, I had to be careful not to get them too thin at first.
Recommend lining each side with plastic when pressing. Then transfer pressed tortilla to a piece of wax paper then onto the grill. That's just the easiest way we found to tranfer them.
Served warm with some queso fresca yum!

This is an excellent tortilla press. We just recieved one and yes, it is a bit greasy out of the box, but this is not a hinderance. My wife and I are very impressed with this tortilla press. My wife initially got a plastic press from a local store, and it was horrible. It wouldn't flatten out the tortillas at all because it would bend under pressure. Then we tried the 6.5 inch aluminum press that is also sold here on amazon. It was much better than the plastic one, but we were still disappointed at the size of the tortillas.

this product is great, i was reading all the reviews before purchasing and wondered about some reviews, because YES it comes with instructions, they are ON THE BOX , yes there is no extra paper, but why , the instruction is on the box in english and spanish! It recommends also to put a plastic bag/ paper between the press, so the dough will not stick. People who don't read the instructions will have a problem working with the tortilla maker. To get the tortilla off the plastic, you first lift it from one side off, put the plastic back on and flip it over , now you take the plasic of this side off, keep it off, turn it over and take the other already loosened up plastic off, now you can bake it in the pan. This whole procedure is important, so you don't ripp the tortilla since it is thin! frying no oil and about 50 sconds each side, heat up the pan first before you start, it frys better. if you take a piece of dough the size of a golf ball or little smaller, you get about a 5-6 inc tortilla, put the ball a little off centerlike somebody else already recommended more toward the back and the tortilla comes out more evenyou may have to try out a bit remember just when you started playing with play dough? trying out different things? :) One thing is trueit is time consuming, but to do it together as a family is the most fun! My whole family loves it! Hope this review is helpful!Saturday, January 3, 2015
Reviews of Heuck 33027 Porcelain Enamel Cast Iron 10.5 Inch Chicken Fryer, Red
I read the first review and thought the complaint was with the shipping. So I purchased the Heuck to get away frome teflon. It arrived in 3 boxes within one The original manufacture box, inside another box then a box for that one. Ours arrived in great condition. BTW the red colour is a pleasent red not and orange red. I tested it for lead content with a home kit and it passed with flying colours. This has become our favorite pan, we are glad we ordered the one with the lid.
In short, this should be an extremely sturdy product cast iron lasts a long, long time. This product, however, couldn't last from manufacturing through shipping.
daughter to put LeCreuset on her bridal registry, she did. Well some thoughtful person thought buying a cheaper version would be acceptable. Guess what.........it's full of pits and breaks in the enamel. She's used it for pasta sauce and chili. She's not even married a year it's garbage, don't fall for the price, there's a reason it's so much cheaper than Le Creuset. Can you say QUALITY, and you get what you pay for!!!

I recieved this as an anniversary present(I like getting things i can use as gifts) although the finish isn't perfect i think the pan is wonderful, i like the way it cooks and looks. sadly my pan got a bubble in the enamel :( I was bummed. the pan has a 20 yr. warranty but did this mean i would have to pay to get this heavy thing shipped back? I called customer service they were very friendly and helpful. They are shipping me a new pan and i don't have to ship the old one back! thank you heuck! I am very pleased!Best Deals for Heuck 33027 Porcelain Enamel Cast Iron 10.5 Inch Chicken Fryer, Red
Product is made of cast iron skillet. When it arrived, the handle of the pan had broken off. It was packaged extremely poorly (from the manufacturer, not the shipping packaging). The cardboard box it was packaged in did not support the weight of the skillet. The skillet itself, was also much lighter than a cast iron skillet of that size should have been, which also makes me wonder about the quality of the product. In short, this should be an extremely sturdy product cast iron lasts a long, long time. This product, however, couldn't last from manufacturing through shipping.

I also bought a 12" cast iron enamel skillet to get away from teflon. I enjoyed the skillet for 2 months before the enamel flaked off! About the size of a quarter. I went against my best judgement and bought this product even though i knew it was made in China. I'm not bashing the Chinese but it seems that the idea of profits out weighs the quality of the product. I don't plan on returning this for an exchange. I put it in the recycling bin where it belongs. I will not purchase anymore of these products or any others manufactured in China.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Heuck 33027 Porcelain Enamel Cast Iron 10.5 Inch Chicken Fryer, Red

Discount AROMA RS-07 14-Cup Simply Stainless Steamer for Cookware
I put my rice into the rice cooker and my veggies into the steamer basket. While they are cooking I made chicken with a nice sauce to go with the rice. Healthy dinner in about twenty five minutes without heating the house up on a steamy summer night. Added bonus easy cleanup. I love it!

The steamer does fit and I'm sure it will do the job, but basket is MUCH thinner than the Aroma Simply Stainless rice cooker pot. Both are made of "surgical grade 304 stainless steel," and by the same manufacturer, so I naturally figured the steel was of the same thickness. Sadly, I was mistaken. I was hoping for a higher quality product.Best Deals for AROMA RS-07 14-Cup Simply Stainless Steamer for Cookware

Customer Ratings:
List Price: $545.00
Sale Price: $239.87

Arrived as advertised and in a timely manner.
Setup Comments:
Some assembly was required the pot had two holes in it: one for the thermometer and one for the valve. There were instructions, but they didn't cover where to put the rubber O-Rings. There was also a plastic device that was some sort of ball bearing thing that I never figured out what to do with.
This is probably obvious, but make sure that you test it for leaks with water before you use it on the stove. You wouldn't want to be dealing with hot liquid leaking out of the thermometer and/or the valve.
Usage Comments:
The thermometer is too high when mashing. A 10lb grain mash with the corresponding 2 1/2 gallons of water doesn't reach the thermometer probe.
The drain valve is high such that over a gallon of liquid remains in the pot when the pot is level. You have to "tip" the pot to drain the remaining liquid. I don't see that there was any real alternative that could have been done.
The drain valve has a small lock that I found took some getting used to.
Pros:
It seems well made.
Handles are welded on.
Thermometer and spigot bolt on through hole in pot using o-rings to seal.
Bottom is thick and transfers the heat evenly.
Cons:
Probably should order some extra o-rings(came with 2 spare)
Packaging could be better. Mine came with a small dent courtesy UPS.

Successfully able to brew 2x 5 gallon all-grain batches of beer so far. Used first as a mash tun, using false bottom and screen, and then as brew kettle after removing spent grain. The 10 gallon vessel is more than enough to handle a full wort boil for a 5 gallon batch, though that may not be true for higher gravity beers. Higher gravity beers may also require a larger grain bill, and considering the false bottom effectively makes the mash volume 2 gallons shorter, you may consider the 16 gallon version, or a separate mash vessel if you are making higher gravity brews.Best Deals for Bayou Classic 10 Gallon Stainless Steel 6 piece Brew Kettle Set

Batch sparge makes it easy. The false bottom and tube screen left my brew crystal clear. I would definitely get a coil to cool down after the final boil. I just love cake moulds. There is something about them that brings back memories of my grandmother's cakes and tarts. You know, the sort of cakes they made long ago during the Victorian era. Anyone can bake a cake from scratch with a little baking skill. But a moulded pound cake looks so professional. This particular cake mould is perfect for toping with glazed fruit or just your favourite jam. Nordic Ware is the leading manufacturer of these cake moulds and has produced a variety of them in dazzling shapes and designs. I think that the best compliment that I have ever received was from a friend, who upon first seeing my finished cake on the table, remarked: "Will you look at this?! This is unbelievable. Did you really make this cake?" The price is high, but well worth it, because the end result will be your crowning moment. Although cake moulds do not always work for every type of cake batter, this one is particularly suited to poundcake. Clean up is "a piece of cake," if you will pardon my pun here, because the interior of the mould is non-stick. I prefer to spay a vegetable coating however. Be the first to amaze everyone at a church potluck supper or cake sale. I bet your cake will sell or be gobbled up faster than someone else's ordinary cake.Best Deals for Nordic Ware Fancy Marianne Pan

These are only necessary if you have large pots, ie; more than eight quarts. They allow the pot to hang sideways and thereby allow more use of the space on a pot rack. Sideways means that you either look into the pot or see its bottom. You do not need these for skillets. In fact, if you use these for skillets you greatly reduce the amount of space gained by buying a pot rack in the first place.
Good value for the price.

They were as easily painted as the pot rack itself, and work well to hold the heavy stainless steal pots and pans that I am using the rack for. They look great in my kitchen.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Enclume MPP-14 RACK IT UP Set of 8 Pot Hooks
These hooks matched out Enclume pot rack perfectly. They are styled a little differently than the hooks that came with our pot rack, but the longer length allowed us to hang our pots and pans at different levels allowing us to fit more pots on the rack. And the price was very good compared to other sites.Wednesday, August 6, 2014
Cheap Stainless Stee Cook and Carry Thermal Cooking Pot
What a great idea! I've been using one for four years now and I'm amazed at how versatile it is and how great things taste when it's used to cooked with. I think it's a must have item for your kitchen, camp and more! A pot of beans that would normally need to be simmered three hours (3 hours of fuel use) only takes 20 minutes with the fuel turned on and the rest of the time it cooks in it's own retained heat. That's a 90% savings on fuel consumption. There are some great recipes and demonstrations on using a thermal cooker on this blog:

Make a dish for a potluck, lock it up, carry it with you, cannot spill and it stays hot, no need to find a way to reheat the food when you serve it.
There is nothing to break, nothing to malfunction, just a great idea whose time has come. I love my thermal cooker.

I have this item and use it often. It is a wonderful energy saver, you bring your soup, stew, rice, whatever, to a boil, take it off the heat and close it up, the food continues to cook on its own.Make a dish for a potluck, lock it up, carry it with you, cannot spill and it stays hot, no need to find a way to reheat the food when you serve it.

Review of Potato Baking Nails Set of 4
A straight piece of aluminum that you stick into a potato. Ya it is simple but very effective. Get a well cooked baked potato each time, cuts about 20-30 minutes off of the back time. I have several types of these but this one is the best I have. I especially like the large triangle at the end that makes handling them far more EZ then any other "potato nail".

Every cook needs potato nails and these are the best; potatoes cook faster without exploding and these are even better with the large "handle" that is easier to put in and out of the potato and oven/Best Deals for Potato Baking Nails Set of 4

So far, I have been happy with other pots and pans of this set so I ordered the 8 qt. piece. The package this pot came in was undamaged so there was no problem during shipping. Yet, the lid/cover does not fit on it. Inspecting the pot, I found that the pot is not round. The diameter across the top where the handles are is almost 1/4" less than when I measure the top 90 degrees from the handles. The top of the pot is slightly oval. I measured the lid and it is perfectly round. At first I wondered if this was intended so steam could be released. But the user's guide says that the cover fits tightly to lock in flavor. The pot is just defective. I will revise this review when and if I can get this defective pot replaced. As I have said, I own the other pots and pans of this set and I love them.
Edit note my replacement came in and it fit fine. However, now one of the lids on my other pots (same brand and type) no longer fits correctly. I have not exposed the cookware to very high heat nor has it been dropped. All of the cookware it still fairly new and looks like new. But apparently this set can get out of round easily. Otherwise, its a great set. I would give the type of cookware 5 stars except that it won't stay round. I do lay the cookware upside down on a towel (gently) if it is hand washed to allow it to drain dry but I don't stack anything on top of it. There is no reason this cookware should not stay round and that the lids should not remain fitting snug. Also, there is no heat protection on the lid handle. The pot handles don't get very hot but care must be taken when removing the lid while food is cooking or one can get burned.

This is wider and therefore, lower than other pots, so it's no problem to fit on the fridge shelves. The aluminum is not as heavy as my 10 year old Technique from QVC, but I can't get that any more so this is a pretty good replacement.Best Deals for Cuisinart DSA66-24 Dishwasher Safe Hard-Anodized 8-Quart Stockpot
This is a nice looking pan, and a handy size. Unfortunately, the bottom is real slippery, and the lid doesn't fit tight enough. We have ceramic grates on the stove, and this pan literally slips around on it. The pan is new, but I won't be using it for soups or boiling liquid...too dangerous. This is a lawsuit in the making.Monday, June 30, 2014
Kuhn Rikon 4-Inch Nonstick Colori Paring Knife Reviews
This is the best paring knife I have ever used. The blade is incredibly sharp and the handle is comfortable. And of course the color is fun and makes the knife easy the find in the drawer or the dish water. The case protects the blade in the drawer and makes it easy to take camping. The blade doesn't stick to anything, not even soft cheese. I have two myself and bought one as a gift. I would highly recommed this knife to everyone.
The blade is *VERY* sharp and holds it's edge very nicely. The nonstick coating on the blade is a real plus as it helps to keep the knife clean as well as to keep it moving through thicker items. The snug fitting platic sheath is a welcome addition to safely store or transport the knife.
My only complaint is the light feel of the plastic handle. It isn't flimsy exactly, just lacks heft. This might just be a personal prefference issue and it hasn't stopped me from buying more of them.
Overall this is a very good paring knife at a reasonable price. Recommended!

I bought this knife at WilliamsSonoma retail store in Williamsburg, Virginia. It is an amazing paring knife and real sharp. I would definently suggest this to Culinary Students. When I first received the product it appeared by looks and touch to be dull BUT I bought it originally to match my kitchen. I was out of clean knives so decided to try and WOW or WOW what an amazing product. On the expensive side yes..............but as long as they continue to cut like they do now........they have become the favorite knives in the house by the entire family.
