I like this pan in that it is very easy to make crapes because no sides. Just trying to move the batter around by rotating the pan does not work well. You have to use the wood T-Shaped Crape Spreader too. It works on an induction element so that is why I purchased it. What I don't like about it is that it is very slippery on the element and hard to hold and turn the crape at the same time. It's going to take practice I can see. It's a nice size. I also use it for heating up tortillas or making melted cheese sandwiches. It works well as a grill.

The most annoying thing about this pan is that the diameter of the surface that contacts the stove is only about 9" so that the outer 1" ring of the cooking surface does not get as hot as the center of the pan. Is that what a "Crepe Pan" is supposed to do? If so I got the wrong pan. I bought it as my one teflon coated pan to use on my induction cook top so I could make eggs and a pancakes thinking it would act like a griddle.

The teflon scratched almost the first day and I don't remember any reason why it should have, although it hasn't scratched any more over the next ten or so times I've used it.

This is exactly what I needed and expected. If necessary, I can use the bottom pot for preparing pasta, but mainly I wanted something big enough so I could steam potatoes and vegetables at the same time. Just fill the pot with an inch or inch-and-a-half of water, bring to a boil, then turn the heat down to medium--or even low--and let the steam do the cooking. On this setting, it takes about 30 minutes to cook potatoes. I like the looks, and I love the handles, which remain cool while food cooks. All in all, this is excellent cookware.

So I'm going through a carribbean phase (hint the color). I'd steamed some lobster tails to perfection in this pot. I've tried mussels and shrimp as well. The top pot is slotted, so it's great for steaming.

This is by far the best steamer I have ever owned. I thought it seamed a little pricy at first but you know the old saying (you get what you pay for) is so true here. It is very sturdy & the steamer insert is a very good size. Would not hesitate to buy it again.

Goes with the rest of my set. Steams better than the little B&D one I have! Looking for more to add to the set.

When this pan came to me I thought I had orederd the wrong pan. But I found that I like this pan just as it is. It is a bit small but It cooks big. This pan works very good as a steamer, as well as, doing posta for one or two persons at a time.

This is the set you want. Why? Here are some reasons. Some are about Stainless steel cookware in general, but all apply specifically to this set.

o Stainless steel is sanitary. You can get them perfectly clean very easily. (Commercial food processors are often required to use stainless steel for nearly everything that comes in contact with food.)

o Stainless steel cleans up nearly as easily non-stick cookware. You do clean it differently, however.

o These pans have an aluminum core wrapped on both sides by stainless steel. Stainless steel does not transmit heat quickly but aluminum does. Aluminum is soft and dents easily, stainless steel is hard and strong. This means you get the toughness of stainless steel with the even heat distribution of aluminum.

o Even heat distribution and rapid heating allows you use lower heat setting thus saving energy and reducing the chance of burning food.

o Handles stay fairly cool, better than most cookware I have used.

o Dishwasher safe, unlike most non-stick pans.

o Oven-safe. Like to grill that steak then broil it to get it tender? Or you need to bake that stuffing then keep it warm? Use one pan!

o Pans are a little bottom heavy. They will not tip as easily as lighter weight pans, even empty or with a large spoon hanging off one side.

o Pans are well balanced and not too heavy. Want to flip those pancakes or toss those grilled onions, these pans give you fine control. They have been excellent for every use I have put them through.

o Lids are interchangeable and fit well! The lids even fit the skillets which is great if you are making grilled sandwiches. Note that lids may seem loose, especially when pans are cold. Remember that as pans get hot, their shape can change. Also, you do not want a perfect seal as you can make a bomb just by boiling water. Thus the lids need a little room to vent steam as well as accommodate changes in the shape of the pan.

If you have a gas range, consider using a flame deflector. This is good advice for ANY type of cookware.

Personally, I have owned the high quality non-stick stuff as well as stainless steel cookware. The non-stick stuff is quite over-rated, it does not clean up any more easily than the stainless pans. None of my non-stick Analon and Caliphon stuff has lasted more than six or eight years. The only stainless steel pot I ever had I got from my mother back in 1979. It is in great condition and looks like I bought it last month.

Unfortunately, some researches recently have linked some of the binding agents in non-stick cookware to cancer, so perhaps, to be safe, avoid the complex chemical treatments of the non-stick stuff and go for simple stainless steel.

For those of you considering upgrading your cookware to professional grade stainless steel, look no further.

I've owned this 12 piece set for over a year, and can't offer enough praise. It still looks brand new (use Barkeepers Friend to clean it). It heats evenly and quickly, retains heat for a long time, sears and browns well without burning, handles comfortably, cleans up easily and looks great! I'm fortunate enough to have several different types of cookware to compare. My cookware includes: All-Clad, JC Penny Elite (5 ply Copper Core), Chefmate tri-ply, Hard Anodized non-stick and Cuisinart Tri-Ply Copper.

In my opinion, the All-Clad Stainless Steel line is much overated. Its great cookware, but has no rolled edges for easy pouring without making a mess, and I prefer the handles on just about any other brand. All-Clad's materials and construction are the same as the other premium lines, with the exception of the rolled edges. Incidentally, staunch supporters of All-Clad make inferences of inferiority when speaking of other brands such as Cuisinart, stating "its made in China". I have two All-Clad pans hanging on the pot rack right now, one made in China, and the other made in Indonesia. Most of their line is made in the USA, but premium cookware made overseas (including some of their own lines)is not inferior!

The Chefmate Tri-Ply in direct comparison to the Cuisinart cooks and handles about the same with a slight edge in cleaning ease. The Chefmate has a true mirror finished interior, but overall isn't as heavy duty. The Stainless Steel lids are also a lighter gauge. Its been discontinued.

The JC Penny Cooks Elite 5 ply Copper Core is fantastic cookware, and the equal of the All-Clad Copper Core in every way except the handle. The handle of the Elite is far superior to All-Clad's. In comparison to the Cuisinart, its very comparable in performance, but quite a bit heavier. Its original price was about 2-3 times the cost of the Cuisinart. It too has been discontinued.

The Hard Anodized non-stick cookware is fine, convenient to use, even heating, and now relegated to camping. It doesn't brown foods like Stainless Steel does. The non-stick fininsh WILL wear off, and render the cookware somewhat useless with daily use.

The Cuisinart Copper Tri-Ply is fantastic and really the only competitor for the Multiclad. It looks fantastic, cooks fantastic and gives you an ever so tiny advantage in temperature control over the Multiclad. The pots and pans are the same configuration as the Multiclad, albeit with an outer layer of Copper instead of Stainless Steel. The handles are different as well, but both styles of handles are cool to the touch and comfortable to hold. I enjoy the Copper and don't mind the few minutes it takes to polish, but if you don't want Copper and the extra effort, the Stainless is perfect. I only use the Copper when preparing special dishes for company or when I need specialty pans such as Sauciers for Risoto or sauces. Otherwise, I rely on the Multiclad for daily use.

Incidentally, I have no afilliation with any of the above cookware brands. I am in the food service industry (restaurant design and build) and have the opportunity to speak with many chefs. You'd be very surprised by how many of them use Cuisinart Multiclad or Copper tri-ply at home. I'd say its a 50-50 split between All-Clad and Cuisinart for their home use.

With so many high end brands after your hard earned dollar, you can buy similar quality and performance, but there is no better value than Cuisinart Multiclad. It's heirloom quality and will be your last cookware purchase.

Update:

I reviewed this cookware set some time ago, and thought it appropriate to write an update. I've been reading through all the reviews that have been written since my first review, and everyone seems to say "as good as All-Clad".

I DISAGREE!

Cuisinart Multi Clad isn't as good as All Clad; IT'S BETTER! I have both All Clad and Cuisinart as well as other brands of high end cookware including Tri Ply, Five Ply Copper Core, Copper etc. Here are my reasons for declaring Cuisinart the winner:

o Rolled edges on the Cuisinart eliminate dribbling down the side of the pan as experienced with the All Clad. All Clad top of the line Copper Core does have rolled edges as well, but their stainless line that directly competes with the Cuisinart does not. In daily use this makes a huge difference.

o The Cuisinart handles are far superior to the All Clad. The Cuisinart remain cool enough to touch without pot holders, and their ergonomic shape and angle are very comfortable when shaking, flipping, tossing and moving the pans. The All Clad handle is thrust up at a sharp angle which is somewhat awkward, and the handle itself is uncomfortable.

0 The Cuisinart can be used on induction ranges. The previous Multi Clad line wasn't designed for induction ranges, but the Multi Clad Pro is and therefore no more advantage to All Clad in this respect.

0 The Cuisinart line cleans up easier than All Clad. I've cooked eggs in both All Clad and Cuisinart pans using the same prep and cooking mediums. In fact, I've cooked one egg per pan using the same burner without altering the gas flow. Eggs stuck slightly in the All Clad, and not at all in the Cuisinart. The Cuisinart's interior is slightly more highly polished than All Clad, and I suspect this to be the reason. I was able to repeat the same results with skin-on chicken, fish and other troublesome foods. Deglazing and clean up is just easier with the Cuisinart.

o Some All Clad pieces don't come with lids! You have to purchase a lid as an option. I have nearly every piece of Cuisinart, and each came with a lid (skillets are the exception).

o Cost. Cost isn't the only factor here. However, if two products perform similarly and will last virtually forever, why pay way more for one based on brand prejudice? The product that performs the best should be the clear winner regardless of price. Therefore, Cuisinart wins outright, and the fact that the entire 12 piece set costs less than most All Clad single pieces makes it a remarkable value.

In conclusion, Cuisinart has better design and construction, both ergonomically and practically (rolled edges and handles), easier clean up and maintenance, and out performs All Clad.

...with the right pot.

When I was checking into buying more high-quality cookware a few years ago, I was totally sold on AllClad, but then a friend of mine whose job at the time was to test kitchen cookware (if you can believe that!) told me I should check out Cuisinart's MultiClad line instead. Turns out it's had the same features (and add-ons) as the AllClad I was so in love with (stainless steel wrapped around an aluminum core), but without the major price tag that comes with the "AllClad" name.

So I got the Cuisinart line and absolutely have loved it ever since I've even been adding to my collection every year or so.

As far as comparing it to nonstick cookware...well, I still have some nonstick pieces, but I don't use them much a little bit of Pam Cooking Spray, and I haven't had any trouble. It also comes with great cleaning instructions...in fact, mine still look almost new even though they're a few years old.

----------

Update September 2010... I just wanted to add that I've had this set for almost 10 years of heavy use now and still love them. When I follow the cleaning instructions, they look new. I'm still adding to my collection and highly recommend.

Honest reviews on Cuisinart MCP-12 MultiClad Pro Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set

This is a great set. I looked at Calphalon, All-Clad & Emeril (and others) before deciding on these. I have an All-Clad pan and yes they are great. But for a Stainless steel set like this, the All-Clad, Calphalon & Cusinart Multiclad are all made the same way. They all have stainless interior and exterior with an aluminum core that runs from the bottom up the sides. Cheaper sets like Cuisinart's Chefs Classic or Emeril's, only have the aluminum core on the bottom of the pan with little or no core on the sides.

The Multiclad, tri-ply, etc. sets will all perform basically the same way. However the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro is in my view an outstanding set of pans and they work great. I cannot see any reason to pay $100-$350 more for a set of pans that are basically the same thing. And, if you look at them closely, the Cuisinart Multiclad pans have a nicer more polished interior finish than Calphalon. That means they stick a little less and are easier to clean. The other benefit of stainless is it's dishwasher safe as well, but I usually hand wash. I've only had this set a few weeks but I've used most of the pans. And I've been so impressed by them that I have also purchased a few additional Cuisinart Multiclad pans to complete my set the 4 Qt. sauce pan, the 5.5 Qt. saute' pan and their double boiler. I like the 4 Qt. size when I want to boil water but don't want to use a big pot. And just to let everyone know, I also have an old Cuisinart 12.5" skillet and it still looks and works great. I've used it on gas and electric stoves and it just works great. One other thing about these pans, you don't need to set the heat above medium for most cooking and to boil water, I only need med-high. I'm very happy with Cuisinart and I know these are the last pans like this I'll ever need to buy. I do own a few non-stick pans as well but I really don't use them that often now that I have these.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Cuisinart MCP-12 MultiClad Pro Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set

My girlfriend and I did a huge amount of research when we were looking into buying a cookware set, and we found the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro to be by-far the best compromise between quality and price. They're substantially cheaper than, for example, the All-Clad MasterChef line, and they have a stainless steel exterior which is generally preferrable to aluminum for cleaning (dishwasher safe, among other things). We've been cooking hard with them for a few months now, and they've been awesome so far.

Notes:

1. Don't confuse these with the Cuisinart Chef's Classic line. Chef's Classic is cheaper, with thin, stainless-steel sides and an aluminum plate inside the bottom only. Multiclad Pro is fully clad -aluminum in the bottom and all the way up the sides for more even heating, sandwiched between stainless steel on the inside and outside for durability and corrosion resistance.

2. Neither of the Cuisinart lines will work on an induction cooktop. If you have an induction cooktop or you're thinking of getting one someday, you may want to look elsewhere -the All-Clad Stainless line might be your best bet, but they cost an arm and a leg.

WAIT A MINUTE. I haven't and this pan for long and have taken very good care of it. It's already started to chip and is missing very small amounts of ceramic. BOOOOO! I take back my review below from when I first bought it. Still much less "non-stick" than the Zwilling, but falling apart. Shenanigans!

ORIGINAL: My expensive first ceramic purchase of a Zwilling JA Henckels Twin Spirit Thermolon Fry Pan, totally SUCKS and it was EXPENSIVE! This taught me to test new pans right away. This pan is wonderful, scrammed eggs don't stick without any added butter or oil (over easy need a tiny touch of oil just to ensure your yolks don't break). It wipes clean, has a very heavy bottom that distributes heat evenly and is exactly as described by the manufacturer. If the ceramic holds up this will be my new favorite brand for ceramic cookware. However, I've read that over time some ceramic coatings doesn't hold up, we'll see, and I'll post an update if it doesn't. So far it's GREAT! A True Non-Stick Ceramic Pan At An Affordable Price! Woo Hoo! DON'T BUY INTO THE ZWILLING NAME, IT'S NOT TRUE! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE HASN'T EVEN RESPONDED TO ME AND AMAZON ABOUT THE LEMON I BOUGHT!

I have used this pan for roasting poultry and vegetables, browning granola, and lasagna. It is a good weight pan for those purposes. I was hoping it would be thick enough to heat on the stovetop to deglase drippings but it is not quite thick enough to disperse direct heat.

Honest reviews on Norpro Stainless Steel 16 Inch Roast Lasagna Pan

This is a good stainless steel pan for baking and roasting. However, as other reviewers have stated, the advertised dimensions are misleading. The handle is counted in the dimension. It is quite a bit smaller than you are lead to believe by the write up. Also, for some unexplained reason the label is glued into it. Very annoying. Had this been described properly and not had glue stuck to it I would have given 4 or 5 stars.

Gorgeous pan, cleanup a snap. Cooks evenly. However, it's a little too shallow for the lasagnas I like to bake. If Norpro called it something else, I'd give it five stars. Oh, well. It's good for baking plenty of other things than lasagna.

I've been in the process of switching from plastic to glass storage containers because of the health risks associated with plastic. Last winter I purchased two sets of cheaper glass containers at a discount store, thinking they would be fine for freezer and microwave use. All of them have chipped along the edges and the plastic tops are cracking.

These are very well made and the lids fit securely. The containers have a thicker edge around the top and they are a nice weight without being too heavy. Definitely worth every penny.

This is the perfect container to replace your old plastic ones. I never found anywhere where it stated exactly what size these were. So anyone who is looking they are 2 cup, 5 cup and 11 cups. They rectangular set comes smaller. The lids have 2 clips on either side so make sure you lock evenly. Over all great product. Don't hesitate with this one.

Best Deals for Kinetic Glasslock Series 3-Piece Square Glass Food Storage

Pros: Durable, tight seals, no plastic, silicone lids, freezer and microwave safe.

Cons: Price, weight, mostly unstackable so hard to store lots of them.

What I mean about unstackable is that although these three particular sizes do fit inside each other, if you buy a whole lot of them the same or similar sizes, they will not fit inside one another at all.

Overall, however, we are grateful to be rid of our BPA plastics and are using these new ones all the time for food storage. We thought Kinetic GlassLocks were a better choice than the Pyrex glass containers because of the tighter seal of these lids (very, very secure seal) and the Pyrex lids were still plastic (not silicone), last time we checked.

Honest reviews on Kinetic Glasslock Series 3-Piece Square Glass Food Storage

I picked up two of the 3-container rectangular sets and love them! The 3-dish sets nest nicely in my cabinet, and were packed well and compactly. It's clear from handling the dishes and lids that these are quality products, not el cheapo imitations or knock-offs.

Another nice feature is that the company stands behind its products. One of my sets arrived with a lid's tab snapped off, so I called the phone number in Iowa that's printed right on the packaging. The phone was promptly answered by an Iowan (as I later found out) who quickly helped me figure out what size new lid I needed and arranged to have it promptly shipped to me at no cost.

These are awesome containers that do well in my dishwasher (unlike the cheap plastic ones which ended up flung around the inside of the dishwasher), in my refrigerator, in my freezer, and in my microwave.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Kinetic Glasslock Series 3-Piece Square Glass Food Storage

Like other reviewers here, I too was looking to switch from plastic food storage containers to glass. I'm a fan and subscriber of Cook's Illustrated, and I like to read their unbiased equipment reviews. I've made purchases based on those reviews before and found I agree with their findings most of the time. So when I started researching glass food storage containers, I learned that the Kinetic Go Green GlassLock line was Cook's top choice for glass food storage containers in the test they conducted in May 2010. Their testing methodology was impressive, and because I wasn't interested in having containers that could go in the oven too, I decided to give them a try.

Once again, I agree with Cook's findings. I love these containers now, and have since bought another set of different sizes. Glass containers require something of a commitment from the user, and can be a real change for folks who've always used plastic. Yes, they can break, so you need to be as careful with them as you would your dishes and drinking glasses. Yes, same-sized pieces don't stack, but graduating sizes can and do "nest" quite nicely in the cupboard, and for me anyway, the two sets that I have now require no more space than all the plastic pieces did. The extra little effort is well worth it the containers simply do not leak, there are no odors, the non-toxic, non-reactive tempered glass does not scratch, does not take on the flavors or stains of the food that's stored in them, and the easy-to-use lids are airtight and waterproof. With all the concerns now about the potential health hazards of plastic storage containers, this is one less thing to worry about, and I'm very glad I made the switch.

If you're looking for glass containers that are oven safe, look elsewhere. But if you're looking for the best glass food storage containers with the best/easiest sealing lids, I can highly recommend these.

Had an old inexpensive Braun juicer for many years that finally need to be replaced and found out they don't make them any more.

First purchased a stainless steel Breville. It looked nice, but for some reason did not have enough motor power which caused it to stall on juicing and returned it. Was very dissapointed.

Then went cheaper and bought a Tribest based on reviews at Amazon. It worked for about 1 year a part broke on it. Also, it was not dishwasher safe. Finally, purchased this Omega. First unit delivered had a slightly bent shaft and had a very annoying squeak. I decided for this much money it should work correctly. Returned the unit and requested a replacement.(transaction went smoothly).

Second unit was delivered and shaft appeared straight when it rotated. There was a still a slight squeak, but not as bad as first unit. I put small bit silicone lube used for my treadmill on the cent shaft near black bushing and it was eventually silenced. There is a slight amount of gear noise that I wish I could lubricate, but it is not bad.

The main thing is that it has plenty of power to quickly juice citrus, has several sizes of juicer heads to handle lemons or oranges (have not tried grapefruit. Not sure if largest head is large enough). Next, the parts are dishwasher safe and it is a very easy cleanup. This appears to be made well and hope to get years of service out of it. Also, the wife is happy with the new citrus juicer.

I ordered this to replace and upgrade from the Waring Pro I have had for almost 10 years of hard use. I use a Vita Mix and a Champion Juicer, and wanted a solid hardworking citrus juicer to sit with them on my kitchen island. From the pictures of the Omega C-10W, it looks like a well designed product, I especially like that it is tall, has a "splash guard" and three sizes of reamers.

When I opened the box and set it out, I was immediately surprised how LIGHT WEIGHT the juicer is. The base of the unit had come open in shipping , and the motor mount posts had broken. The motor unit was loose, with poorly attached wiring. The whole base is cheap light weight plastic. The reamers are thin plastic as well. For almost $200I was expecting a solidly built Juicer. It is impossible to imagine something this poorly designed would ever hold up to "Professional" use, what ever that is!

This juicer keeps overheating and shutting down after small quantities of juice. When it was working it was quiet and efficient.

the release blade is next to impossible to rotate when the form is packed with meat. Without a functional release mechanism; the meat mold is wothless. I wouldn't recommend buying this for making hamburgers.

I bought this because it is s quarter pounded which is plenty big enough. Replaces one I had just like it.

You get what you pay for was never truer. This very flimsy item broke on it's fist use. The turning mechanism broke easily and the screw would not turn the blade inside, so the patties stick inside and need to be scraped out. It could still be used as a big cookie cutter.

I was looking for a quart sized pot -its a little narrower and taller than my previous quart sized pot, which surprised me initially. But after many uses, I haven't found it to be a problem. The pot works well, pretty enough to stay on the stove top when not in use, washes easily, and the top is very sturdy and functional.

Mom loves it. Great for making tea. Easy to use, lightweight, easy to clean. Not to heavy for a person with a bad shoulder.

This is a little smaller than what I was expecting, but it is a great little pot. I can burn Water.

it was the perfect little sauce pan to make sauce for Asian themed dishes.

No other pan was so perfectly suited for my ginger sauce. It's the only pan I ever found of this size that was also non stick, and also had a pour spout and also had a lid.

I miss it.

After doing some online research I decided to get this 1.2 quart nonstick saucepan specifically for making oatmeal. I love my stainless clad cookware but hated cleaning up after my morning breakfast. This pan is WONDERFUL. I followed the directions to season the pan after washing. I use medium heat with the lid and my oatmeal cooks up perfectly.

I didn't think I needed the lid, but it helps retain heat and cook faster, and the vent holes precent any mess. The bottom is perfectly flat and works well on my glass-top range. I appreciate the size--just a bit larger than a 1-quart but it really makes a difference! The nonstick coating seems pretty good, but I only use a silicone scraper to cook with and a washcloth to clean it--so I expect it to hold up well. I also really like the pour spouts for my oatmeal. I also used it for making hot chocolate and really appreciated the pour spout as I cleanly directly the milk into my mug.

This is a real winner. It would make an excellent gift with some gourmet hot chocolate mix and mini-marshmallows!

I have been searching for a "birds beak" paring knife for years and years. It is perfect for hand help slicing and cutting. This knife is excellent because of its thin blade, you can cut matchstick carrots without the carrot breaking. The other two knives that come in this set are great also. I am so happy to have found these and I would recommend this set for everyone!!!

I've been a wusthof fan for a while. i knew when buying these they would not be the same as the classic series. and i got about what i expected. they look well made but the blades are rather thin all the way through. this allows for quite a bit of flex while cutting. it made it tricky to cut straight as the metal would flex and get off track. not a big deal to me for just little things. but something to be aware of.

nice light knife set. can't wait to get my hands on a full classic set.

Inexpensive paring knife collection that is worth the price. Edges came sharp, handles fit my hands, various shapes useful for their intended uses. I really like the concave blade for zesting citrus. With messermeister blade guards attached they also travel safely.

This is a very pretty set and affordable BUT...BEWARE. Lenox says it is dishwasher safe. They lie. I put the pot in the diswasher to remove the tea stains(all alone on the top rack with reservations) It turns out I was right....The butterfly wings fell off from the dishwasher spray. It was not roughly handled or in a place that anything could have touched it but water. Lenox by the way DOES NOT warranty it for falling apart when used as instructed and stands by the "dishwasher safe" label. It will cost $30 to replace the pot under their 50% off breakage warranty and they won't sell you a lid only.

The perfect tea set for Grandma and her favorite granddaughter. The cups are adult size, even Grandpa and Grandma could share this set. Using this lovely set brings to mind the outdoors and spring with no insects buzzing about.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND, if you're a tea drinker.

When I opened the box, my first impression was the tea pot is pretty big than I expected. You may fill at least 6-7 cups of water. The tea cups are the right size, though. Overall, I liked this tea sets.
