I received this item (in blue) as a gift off of my wish list. I wanted a pan I could use in the broiler and after reading many positive reviews and the America's Test Kitchen recommendation, I decided on this brand. Also, the price was amazing compared with other broiler safe options. It worked great, cleaned easily (although I did have some baked-on food splatters along the top edge), and I was able to use it in the broiler, although I mostly used it in the "bake" mode of my oven.

However, one night after using it in the broiler, there was a loud sound in the kitchen and when I opened up the oven I discovered the pan had split in two. Luckily, the broken dish was easy to clean because it was only two large pieces and did not shatter or shard too much.

Overall, the item was very reasonably priced and worked great until it broke. But even at its low price, I expected it to stay intact for more than 5 months. I am now looking at LeCreuset again because even though their products are expensive, they have not broken and I would rather pay more for an item that will last.

I was extrememly disappointed after seeing the wonderful reviews. I inspected the pan when it arrived and it was in perfect condition. First oven use and the entire pan cracked down the length of it. Luckily my chops still stayed on the pan. Refund handled quickly. Will have to continue to look for this size pan. So aggravating.

If you have to feed people snacks and are worried about sugar (not to mention the cost of snacks, which is relatively high) you should consider making fruit leather. You start with a puree of fruit (like applesauce, peach, pear, apricot, or mixed fruits.) These sheets fit in the Nesco American Harvest dehydrator. Fruit leather can be carried for a quick energy snack for hikers, brown baggers, hungry people who need extra sustenance, and of course, the kids.

During peach season, you can buy fresh ripe peaches, even a bit bruised, and make the most tasty snacks. Great for raspberries, blueberries and strawberries, if you have a lot of them. You can mix berries with apple or peach to stretch them a bit and make some nice varieties of fruit leather. You can even get crazy and dribble the blueberry or raspberry puree onto an apple base for swirly fruit leather.

For some reason, fruit leather is fun, like red licorice, whereas plain old dried fruit is definitely NOT FUN (for example PRUNES, or dried peaches or apricots once your older brother suggests to you that they really are ears that fell off a mummy. Blech.)

You can also make RAW CRACKERS from vegetable puree plus flax seed using these sheets, which is what I do. The method is very simple; you take your blender mix the following:

1 cup soaked sunflower seeds

1 cup soaked walnuts

1 cup soaked almonds

1 tomato

1 cup red onion (chopped)

3 tablespoons flaxseed

3 teaspoons cumin seed

2 teaspoons salt

You eliminate the nuts and use more flax seed and sunflower seeds, if nuts are too rich or you are allergic. Dry this batter on the sheets. It will pull off like fruit leather, and you can cut them up into triangles. They will eventually dry further into crisps. They are incredibly tasty.

I bought a set of these to make fruit rolls for hiking. The Scouts in my troop are always impressed with them (if I bring enough to share). They work great, and are very easy to use. Simply spray them with Pam and pour your fruit mixture on them. Put them in the dehydrator and turn it on. For the fruit mixture, I usually use unsweetened applesauce (from big Costco jars) mixed with jam or jelly. In season, I've also used fresh fruit with applesauce, but it sometimes comes out a little sour.

I've also had no trouble with them warping, as another has mentioned. I once tried to make fruit rolls on waxed paper, instead of buying these. Don't do that, because the waxed paper will become permanently bonded to the fuit.

My mother has these and I used to make lots of fruit rolls with them lots of fun, and a good treat! I recommend mixing applesauce with (thawed) frozen fruit juice concentrate of your choice to make whatever flavor you like. My favorite was mixing grape fruit juice concentrate with the applesauce. It makes a very deep purple and fruity treat. (Ratio was one can frozen concentrate to a big jar of applesauce. I'll edit my post and add specific sizes soon.)

When I got my dehydrator, it came with one fruit roll sheet. I ordered another package of sheets but was deeply disappointed with what I got.

Yes, they are the same shape and size as the original, but they are made of a heavier plastic that warps! I have never had a problem with my original sheet warping, but all of the extra sheets I ordered warped on their first run in the dehydrator.

These sheets are difficult to use because the liquids I put on them for dehydration run down into the low spots and I cannot get a nice uniform dried fruit rolls the way I can with the original sheet that came with the dehydrator.

Great purchase to go with my Nesco FD-60 bought from Walmart.com site-to-store (not the FD-27 or FD-50 listed above as compatible products). For those like me looking for fruit leather sheets and unsure whether they'll fit your machine, the overall diameter of these sheets is 13", with the inner donut hole 3". Each sheet holds about 2 cups of pureed fruit. (For example, 2 large peaches, a bit less than a pound.)

What I've tried so far, all with a bit of lemon juice to preserve color and freshen the fruit flavor:

2 cups of applesauce with 1/3 cup de-frozen grape/raspberry juice too sweet, will use maybe a scant 1/4 cup next time. Rather sticky pliable leather. I just stirred this together in a bowl and then spread on tray.

2 large diced peaches (pitted, not peeled), thrown in the blender with a little lemon juice, one peach at a time. Added not much of anything else came out too crisp to roll. Peaches are nice this way, but needs a bit of syrup (not sugar) to keep the peach pliable.

2 peaches as above with grape/raspberry concentrate and a little corn syrup for pliability excellent!

Package of Dole natural frozen tropical fruit (no sweeteners) pineapple, mango, strawberries, kiwi, maybe something else. Defrosted, tossed in blender, added a little of the grape/raspberry concentrate and corn syrup. Excellent!

Edit: I should mention that this is a 14 piece set, and incorrectly said 15 in my review.

I decided to do a video review for the Faberware cookware set. The reason being is I did notice the quality difference between another brand known as Cook N Home 15 Piece Non stick Black Soft handle Cookware Set that I purchased last year when I was on a stricter budget after moving into a new apartment. I also reviewed the Farberware Dishwasher Safe Aluminum Nonstick 12-Piece Cookware Set, Black which had similar teflon but less pans.

While I'm not fond of the color (which is a minor nitpick) I do have to say the quality difference was impressive.

Keep in mind that the Faberware retails on Amazon $20 dollars more than when I paid for the other brand. I just have to say, it does make a difference. I really like the set up of the base of the handle, which is much sturdier than the other brand. The Teflon is DuPont and I could immediately see the difference between my other set of cookware.

Now not all the lids will fit every pot for Faberware, but this is mostly the frying pans, so don't fret. The skillet has a lid that fits. The only minor thing I liked from my Cook N Home is that there was a steam vent/hole when cooking. Good for when you're cooking meals with a lot of steam that prevents the bubbling. Faberware doesn't have this, so that can be a good or bad thing depending on your viewpoint.

The other nitpick are the plastic utensils that came with the set. I could honestly do without. This cookware is really a starter set and if you have a large family, you'll need more pots and pans. For the average couple or single person this is a fine set to start out with.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The color is a beautiful and attention grabbing bright red. The cookware is a heavy gauge Teflon nonstick aluminum. Every piece is dishwasher safe. The heavy gauge aluminum helps prevent burning and reduces hotspots for an even heated bottom of the pot or pan. I like this set because it last longer than most any Teflon coated cookware. It is easy to clean and it's not the cheap no name brands that you can find for half the price. Amazon offers this at a good price and is competitive with other retailers.

Please follow directions if you haven't use Teflon coated cookware because it will be ruined if you use a metallic utensil with it. The set comes with four nice non metallic utensils....Slotted Spoon, Solid Spoon, Slotted Turner, Whisk. Also includes two saucepans, 1 & 3 quart with lids, five quart Dutch Oven, 9"&11" skillets and 2.75-Quart Covered Saute pan. Amazon also offers this set in black, but I prefer the red because it matches my KitchenAid mixer as well as my toaster.

The lids are glass and oven proof up 350F. The handles are coated, which keeps them cool to the touch. Also the handles are not only welded but also riveted to prevent dangerous spillage of hot foods. Also this is a sign of Faberware quality. Faberware has been in the cookware business since 1904, over a hundred years and if you live in the states I bet you parents owned Faberware cookware.

This set would be a great starter set or for a small kitchen because they take little storage space. We have a large stainless steel commercial gas range and usually keep one or two pots displayed on it for cosmetic reasons. If you have a large kitchen and like to prepare hot food, this set is a must have for the price. Even if you want to mix and match your cookware like we do, the red color goes well with SS. My wife is a caterer and is really rough on cookware, and after 6 months this set has held up nicely without anything breaking. I recommend this FABERWARE cook set for anyone that enjoys the culinary arts to even frying an egg. It will last a long time IF you take proper care of the Teflon coating.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program First, I must say that I only got these because I got them to review. Typically we do not buy non-stick pans because I am concerned about toxicity. You can only use plastic utensils with these pans. And the ones that come with it are a little bit flimsy. That said, I assume if you are buying these you will buy them aware of the risks of non-stick pans, so I'll review them as such. I've used them about 10 times to cook, very carefully at heat that is not too high, with plastic utensils and they worked well.

Note that the set includes a 1 and 3 qt. saucepan, a 5 qt. dutch oven, and a 9 and 11 inch skillet and a 2.5 quart saute pan. The skillets do not have lids, but the others do.

Nothing stuck to the pans, which was great.

I would suggest that these would be a good set for someone who is not a regular cook maybe a young college student or someone just getting started out. They heat up quickly because they are thin and they heat a little unevenly. Not a big deal for minor cooking, but if you are more serious or cook a lot, it is not ideal.

They can go in the dishwasher and the times I used them it did not seem to cause any harm to them. I am skeptical about that over time, but I'll have to wait a year or so before I can report on that.

Overall, this is not a cheap set of pans. I would put them better than a start set you might get at Wal-mart and a good value for the price. But not a good option if you want pans you'll be cooking with a lot over many years.

When my wife and I were married 25 years ago, we purchased a Farberware stainless steel set (not inexpensive at the time) which we still have today. We found at the time that although the pots were very well-made, the frying pans (without teflon) required much more oil or fat to be useful. So we ended up buying teflon frying pans of various sizes over the years. Conversely, the deep pots in this set are also teflon coated, which we feel is perhaps not necessary, and since the teflon coatings tend to wear out much sooner than the pots themselves, will ultimately limit the useful lifespan of this set. However, the manufacturer has also included a few utensils, which will hopefully remind users that using plastic or wood will greatly increase the longevity of the set. The weight is reasonable, not too light, and the ability to place in the medium oven, as well as wash in the dishwasher, is a plus. For the price, very reasonable.

These pots and pans you can use only non stck/plastic type utensils or you risk damaging the non stick surface. A set of plastic/non stick utensils is included.Becasue I am used to being able to use metal utensils I found myself forgetting to use non metal in these pans.I have some other non stick pieces of another brand. The surfaces are guaranteed for the life of the pan and you can use metal utensils in them. The smaller frying pan does not come with a cover and I tried using a cover one of the sauce pans and it does not work. This set has two sauce pans a big one and a little one ,which I found to be lacking and would prefer a middle size sauce pan too. They are attractive. I like that they have see through lids with cool touch handles. The jumbo cooker can go into the oven as long as the temp is not above 350 dergrees again most of the ones I have seen/used are good to 400 degrees some even higher.They are dish washer safe. I think they are ok if you do not do alot of cooking. While one may not be able to find another better set for this price I think spending a little more for better quality would be wise in the long run!

I want to warn you that the plastic utensils that come with the cookware are not what I classify as safe. The plastic absorbs heat and will burn skin.

The skillet cooks well, but the cool orange handle is heavier than the base of the skillet/pan part, and it tips over while on the stove unless you have some heavy food in it. You have to hold the handle while cooking, sometimes, or the pan will tip to the heavy side, like a see-saw. So far this is the only drawback, though!

This pan was defective so I returned it, thank you Amazon for paying the postage. The first time I used the pan I oiled it, but noticed that my piece of paper towel turned black. I washed the pan again, oiled it again, more black. I discovered that the lengthwise seam along the raised section of the bottom of the pan was open I could catch it with my fingernail, and the black was coming from this seam. Later I stopped by Macy's and looked at the same pan and discovered the same open seam. It looks like Cuisinart is selling a defective item on a large scale.

The pan looked great and is nice and heavy; however, exactly like another reviewer said, there is an unsealed seam in the bottom of the pan that gives off black stuff even after multiple washings. I was very disappointed. HOWEVER, Amazon was GREAT very fast shipping, plus they paid return shipping because the item was defective.

Being a bachelor, I wanted a smaller than full-size roasting pan. This seemed to do the trick. Amazon's description included the sentence:

"The secret is in the base where 18/10 stainless steel and pure aluminum are encapsulated to ensure fast and even heating."

Amazon made the same error describing its own house brand, Pinzon. Upon calling Cuisinart and speaking to a delightful customer service rep, I learned that this pan is 100% stainless. That translates into 'buckling' and 'hot spots' when deglazing on the stove-top for gravy.

This pan probably deserves a higher rating, but only if you are willing to put up with what 100% stainless is capable of.

I currently own two Cuisinart Chef's Classic items: this lasagna pan, and the multi-purpose pot. I just ordered the 12" everyday pan, and am looking forward to receiving it. I may get a sauce pan at some point, but I'm trying to keep my kitchen stocked as minimally as possible so I'll have to wait and see about that.

I haven't had the quality issues that others have experienced. No black marks, discoloration, or gaps in seams. This pan has been very functional and durable. It cleans up well. It looks nice on the table. The sides are high, which is great for lasanga. It's a good value for the money. At one time, I would have purchased All-Clad cookware, but now that I own Cuisinart, I'm throughly content with what I have (and at a fraction of the cost).

This is a good value, IMHO.

Use nylon or silicone utensils so as not to mar the finish (no metal). I've become very partial to Trudeau utensils, which can also be purchased at Amazon.

At the outset, I want to note that I am very happy and have no problem using stainless pans for 90+% of my cooking. But for a few things (e.g., eggs) I just prefer to use a nonstick pan. Meanwhile, we have had All-Clad pans for more than a decade and we have been very happy with them EXCEPT for a couple of nonstick pans we bought. The nonstick surface wore off the pans too quickly and they just did not last like the rest of our stainless steel All-Clad pans have over the years.

So my wife picked up this Calphalon 8 inch omelet pan for those few occasions where I want a nonstick surface.

This pan rocks! It was apparent right from the start that the nonstick material(s) on this pan totally outclass what the All-Clad pans use. And this pan has proven to hold up much better. We have been using this pan for well over a year now and the interior still looks like new. I have no doubt that this pan will last us for many more years.

I still love my All-Clad stainless steel pans. But when it comes to nonstick pans, I think Calphalon is better and the best I have ever used.

UPDATE 1/20/12

The nonstick surface on this pan is still working great . . . while the surface on my last All-Clad "non-stick" pan (a 10 inch skillet) became totally useless. So we tossed the All-Clad pan and bought the Calphalon 10 inch Unison non-stick skillet that is the companion to this one. If possible, it seems that they have even IMPROVED the non-stick surface on these pans. Again, I really like my other All-Clad pans, but for some reason they just don't seem to make a good non-stick pan. Until they do, I highly recommend these Calphalon pans.

I have had Calphalon since we got married in 1997. This set of pots and pans (new for 2009) are by far the "best" version of Calphalon I have ever seen! I can practically wipe them down, they are so easy to clean. They are also dishwasher safe, which is what I need given my busy lifestyle. Of note, you can't use PAM or such sprays on this new Unison set. No problemo as it cooks everything with about 1/3 the oil required. I hardly use any oil (get MISTO spray and put olive oil in there) and the pans cook up everything perfectly. The handles are supposed to be stay cool types but like other metal handles, they do heat up if left on the stove for a long time (or if they are short handles like those on the large stock pots). Great set overall! Cannot recommend highly enough.

My husband and I purchased this omelette pan after purchasing the Unison 15 piece set (omellete pan didn't come with the set). Although the pan is expensive, it is worth every penny! Excellent quality, so easy to use and clean. You don't have to put butter or oil in the pan . . .great for healthy cooking! Make sure to grease the pan before using it for the first time and wait for the pan to cool completely before washing. I highly recommend the Unison cookware to anyone!

I found that the Jobar steamer does a great job in steaming vegetables. I used it right away and made some great broccoli and carrots, vegetables were steamed and crisp and full of flavor.

The instructions said I wculd wash the steamer in the dishwasher. I put the steamer in the cup rack at the top of the dishwasher, away from the heating coils. Sadly, the base melted. Its shape no longer matches the upper baskets. So, it goes back to Amazon for a refund.

I ordered this for steaming vegetables etc. for typical usage.

I am quite disappointed with this product. The quality of plastic is very cheap and extremely flimsy. The overall look is also poor.

I've used it only three times and have noticed that the base, which holds the water, is actually now misshaped. Therefore, the steamer trays don't fit in there. So, I have to spend several minutes to set the steamer up, with many spills etc. since nothing fits with the base!!!

To me, this is the quality and performance you see in products you buy from a Dollar store. So, this thing is bad and quite a waste of money. Any minute, I expect this steamer to break or even melt in the microwave! So, I have several questions about the steamer now. Why did it get misshaped? Does it mean that it can't stand these high temperatures?

You'd probably be better off buying a good baby bottle steam sterilizer and using that for steaming vegetables etc.!! It's exactly the same product and function, just uses the steam differently! And most are certified BPA free.

After reading the positive reviews I bought this. I've only used it twice but several negatives are now apparent compared to simply using a pan with 1/2 inch of water on the bottom:

a lot more work to wash & dry (4 large parts) vs. 1 small pan & lid

you can't taste test the food during cooking like with a pan. With the steamer you have to remove it from the microwave to taste (more work than it sounds like), and then the steam/boiling has died down by the time you restart it.

included list of cooking times is far from complete so there would clearly be lots of trial & error involved. For example the first time I used it I cooked cauliflower on one level & carrots on another. The carrots of course cooked much faster, but since there's no easy way to reach in & taste you won't check this steamer more than maybe once. With two levels full it's even more trouble to taste test and you loose even more steam/heat so it will take even longer to restart again.

The only positives to me are:

-no water to drain off of cooked food

-ability to cook two different veggies at once (but different cooking times do present a major problem.

Why would I spend almost 10x the amount for a toaster? Because it works and toasts the bread, roll, bagel as it should be. I don't have to stand there as a human timer. I can keep this forever and replace parts as needed. So it will be better environmentally. PLUS with the lift up feature I am able to check my toast. So if you are particular then this may be a good choice. Having it be azure blue is only a plus, well maybe a bit more than that!

wanted one of these toasters for years. finally got one. love the fact that it's heavy duty and looks like it's vintage.

I thought I did a good job researching toasters before I ordered this one I was wrong. The manual points to the "feet" as adjusting for uneven surfaces. In fact, this toaster would never sit level on my solid granite counter due to the inferior design and assembly. Why should you ever have to replace coils in a toaster? especially one that costs over $200. The crumb tray is only slightly thicker than tin foil and slides and falls out of the unit continuously. There is no way to store the cord, which sticks out of the right rear corner with an ugly strain relief bushing. There is nothing "heavy duty" about this unit the bottom sheet metal is less than 1/16". The toaster is continuously noisy with the coils popping and hissing, the timing switches are from 1950, and perform about as well. The wattage is no better than most $21.95 models so, subsequently, the time to make toast is excessive. There are ugly, cheap screws sticking out of all surfaces. This turkey went back and I bought a KitchenAid Pro Line 2-slice for a little less money. The KitchenAid is incredible, fast, quiet, built like a tank, beautifully finished go look.

There is NO COMPARISON to the KitchenAid which lowers and raises the contents at will, has higher wattage, easier, quieter controls, no exposed visible internal wires, a cord storage area on the bottom, no sharp metal parts and a pleasing audible alert when cycling. Dualit is like Sub-Zero all hype and no performance for absurd price.

Are there better or just-as-good toasters available for a lot less money than the Dualit 2? Sure there are. Would they look as good on your kitchen counter? No -not even close. If your toaster will be visible in your kitchen and aesthetics matter to you, you can't go wrong with this beautiful device. It's gorgeous and it toasts just fine.

This is a great item, very solid, well made and strong. We have been cooking two chickens at a time, with four ears on corn on one side and four potatoes on the other side. Using two charcoal fires, one at each end of the grill. The heat stays at about 300 degrees and in two hours everything is perfectly cooked! The can holders are the perfect size and work extremely well.

this is a heavy duty well made beer can chicken/potato/corn cooking rack. this rack seems to welded good and is easy to clean but be very careful the part that holds the potatoes/corn are VERY sharp. there are plastic protectors over the points for safety that can be removed and should be removed before placing rack in the oven/smoker/grill because they will melt. the part that holds the cans works great the chickens stay standing upright. this rack works very well and was worth what I payed for it.

We love this. No, really. We love it. It's so much easier than how we used to prop up the chicken during cooking and hope we didn't bump the grill and knock it over. We probably use this once a week.

It fits two regular sized full chickens perfectly with the can underneath. It's 100% stable. It's easy to remove the chickens from the cooker as well, leaving the can behind so it can cool before being thrown away.

We've used the metal skewers on the side for potato or veggies and it's great to have it all cook in one place at one time.

Can't recommend this one enough if you are looking to make beer bum chicken cooking easier.

This rack does a great job keeping the beer can & the chicken upright. There is enough space to fit 2 birds on it at a time. My DH forgot to remove the black caps that protect errant fingers from getting poked on the potato spears, so they did get melted during the first use. Now we just have to be careful.

I used to use immersions blenders with plastic shafts and cages because I have non-stick and porcelain-covered cast iron pans. I didn't want the surface scratched by metal immersion blenders. Of course, the problem with the immersion blenders with plastic shafts is that they are sensitive to temperature and, eventually, they crack and need to be replaced. "Why," I wondered, "did no one make a little silicone protector that could be slipped onto the edge of the blender cage?" Eventually, metal blenders started to come with these silicone protectors, but only for the very expensive models. That is, until Calphalon came out with their immersion blender.

This is an amazing tool. I've made hummus, tomato puree, soups (pea, bean, and roasted red pepper), and mayonnaise. All came out with just the right texture without having to pull out the regular blender. Cleanup is amazingly easy. Just buzz the shaft into some soapy water and rinse (if you're using the silicone ring, remove it first). Just dry it off and slide it back into the drawer. I used the whisk attachment for quickly incorporating eggs into pate choux. That was just an experiment, but it turned out really well. The texture of the puffs wasn't affected at all, and it was a LOT less effort than doing it by hand. Using the cup with the blade, I minced chicken for homemade chicken sausage. There was a lot less cleanup than there is when I use the food processor. Calphalon created a real winner that works as well as immersion blenders that cots hundreds of dollars, and at a cost most people can afford.

This is the third type of immersion blender that I've owned over the years, and it is, by far, the best. It's easy to hold, easy to control, and the ability to put parts of it in the dishwasher is certainly a plus.

updates based on a couple of recent encounters:

Tried grinding some whole spices in the chopper but was unable to get it to a powder form, was still a bit coarse after 3 minutes on high turbo guess that's why its called a chopper and not grinder!

Not sure if I was doing it right but using the whisk was a big disaster definitely needs a surface with depth and needs a certain volume to be whisked

Otherwise is great for everything else I've been trying out new!

Since Braun no longer makes hand blenders for 110V, I narrowed it down to the Cuisinart Smart Stick vs the Calphalon 3 in 1 Hand Blender.

Although it was more expensive Calphalon emerged a winner due to its nonstick guard, multi speed, turbo option, larger measuring cup and chopper attachment.

I've been using it for slightly more than 2 weeks and can say the following:

Pros

Powerful! I use the chopper regularly for grinding coffee beans. It starts off noisy but with a mix of multiple speeds (regular and turbo in the 3-5 range depending on quantity), I get perfectly ground coffee in less than 90 seconds

works great for all types of ingredients other than the usual soups and veggies the blender has worked great for different types of paste cilantro, spinach, chillies, ginger, garlic, onion etc.

all parts are extremely easy to clean and particles do not get stuck on the detachable chopper blade or on the blender non stick protection

blender works great on all surfaces

Cons

the buttons need to be pressed hard and fingers can start hurting if pressed for long

the chopper lid has one big opening, which if aligned to the mouth of the chopper container can lead to a major spill (had to deal with ground coffee all over the place the first time)

it is prone to a noisy start especially for dry items in the chopper

Overall its a great buy and definitely add to my versatility in the kitchen!

The blender seemed confusing when I opened the box, but the manual explains all of the parts & operation well and I put it together to see how it works. I washed it and let it dry, found a space in a cabinet for it and used it a few days after it arrived. I used it to puree the contents of a can of diced tomatoes that I was using to make pizza sauce. This method makes a much better sauce than regular canned tomato sauce that is finely blended. This was a little more coarsely blended & had a great texture on the pizza. I also like the plastic guard to that you can use it in a pan or pot that has the kind of surface that scratches easily. A very good product.

I managed to break my Braun immersion blender that I've had for years and went looking for a replacement. I wanted to find an exact match to what I had but couldn't so I decided to try the Calphalon Immersion blender instead. All-in-all, I'm fairly happy with my purchase.

Pros:

* It's more powerful than my older immersion blender.

* Whipped cream great with the whisk and blended soup well with the immersion blender attachment. I've only used the chopper once so far but that seems to work well too.

* Has multiple speeds, which my old one didn't.

* Calaphon Custom service was responsive when I reported a problem with the product.

* It has a cord. I don't have a good place a cordless immersion blender could charge.

Cons:

* The button to make it run is smaller and harder to press than my old one. I have fairly strong fingers but had to switch hands before the cream was whipped.

* It's taller than my old one -I'm 5'3" and my counter is probably about 1/2-1" taller than standard. This combination makes it easiest to use when standing on my tiptoes.

* It's 6oz heavier than my older immersion blender. I think this probably has to do with a more powerful motor and less plastic but that never was a problem for me so I'd prefer the lighter weight

* The "nonstick-safe guard" came cracked (ordered from a different site than Amazon) and seems cheap to me. I was expecting something a bit more flexible and silicone-like and this is pretty stiff plastic. However, I emailed Calaphon about my cracked guard and they replaced it immediately.

* The chopper is wider than my old Braun chopper. It might be bigger too, I'm not sure. My old one was perfect for me but while I don't prefer the larger Calaphon size, it'll probably work ok.

I haven't seen any other immersion blender currently available that I like better so I'd buy this one again. I do find it a lot more convenient than pulling out my blender or trying to whip smaller amounts of whipped cream in my mixer.

Wow!! This is by far the best brand of snow cone syrups I have purchased yet. My 6 year olds twins love to make snow cones on a daily basis, and since we live in the Texas heat it makes total sense. I can't tell you how many brands of syrups I have purchased over the years, but this brand is by far the best. Be sure to also try the Orange Cream. We also use the syrups to make the best Italian sodas.

this is the best skillet I have ever owned. I've been using this skillet for about a month now and find it to be the best. The height and angle of the handle is great. The handle never gets hot. The pan itself is nonstick and supposedly dishwasher safe (I still haven't put it in the dishwasher, I always hand wash it). The only issue might be that it's too heavy to lift with one hand for some people.

I was in love with this pan when I first got it for all he reasons the others mention. Great weight and angle on the handle, cooks evenly and truly non stick. However, I question how long the reviewers have had their pans before rating it. I've had mine a little under two years, and it's barely any more non stick than my plain stainless steel pan. I've never used metal utensils on it and there are no visible scratches or flaking, it just doesn't work as well. I've put it in the dishwasher but it says it's dishwasher safe, and I have burned a few things on it at times, but don't feel it should damage the pan to this degree.

I still liking Viking for stainless steel and other cookware which will last a lifetime, but it's just not worth shelling out $200 every two years for a non stick.

Viking's Belgium-made cookware is fantastic. It is build to last for generations and is designed to look and function superbly. The 13 Inch Stainless Steel Non-Stick Fry Pan is great if you need to cook for many people because it heats very evenly, non-stick surface is top notch. It is heavy, but it has to be with multi-layer steel and coating. Don't confuse with China-made cookware! Highly recommended, like all Viking cookware.

We've had the 13" version for well over 10 years. It is indestructible. We beat the day lights out of it with very high heat on a Miele induction cooktop for searing and oven use. There's not a scratch on the coating. A chip on the very top edge due to handling has been there for years and its been stable since the chip. Our other non sticks, circa $100/pan, last a year, 2 years max before we replace them. In the time we've owned this pan, we've been through at least 8 non-stick frying pans I can remember and probably another 3 or 4 I can't remember. We try all the latest new technologies and continue to replace them on a regular basis.

I'm not sure just what this coating is but its definitely a lot harder than PFOA or Teflon. Almost like a ceramic coating. Not as "slide around" nonstick as those but lasts way longer and clean up is still very easy.

I'm on this page because these Viking pans, though expensive and heavy, are superb. Our smaller pans are again ready to be replaced. So its pay for the Vikings as I'm sick and tired of replacing the less expensive pans.
