I bought this shelf for a very specific use in a confined space. It is sturdy and fit like it was custom made, so I paid the price. For general use I would have bought a less costly version that is every bit as sturdy, I tried to do that, but they were no longer available. Nothing special about this to justify the cost, unless you just happen to have specific dimensions to satisfy. It would have been 5 star, but the cost is exorbitant and I downgraded it for that reason only.

Best Organized Living Large Cabinet Shelf, Nickel Deals
I can't decide between this and the Deep Jumbo Storage Shelf by Panacea Products so I ordered both. By looking at the picture and the title, you'll think it's made out from a Nickel metal but when it arrives, it's just a wire coated with epoxy coating, the Nickel is the color of the epoxy coating. Not really a big difference between this and the cheaper Deep Jumbo Storage Shelf by Panacea Products other than the color and the Panacea is even a little bit longer.

Reviews of Heuck 33027 Porcelain Enamel Cast Iron 10.5 Inch Chicken Fryer, Red
I read the first review and thought the complaint was with the shipping. So I purchased the Heuck to get away frome teflon. It arrived in 3 boxes within one The original manufacture box, inside another box then a box for that one. Ours arrived in great condition. BTW the red colour is a pleasent red not and orange red. I tested it for lead content with a home kit and it passed with flying colours. This has become our favorite pan, we are glad we ordered the one with the lid.
In short, this should be an extremely sturdy product cast iron lasts a long, long time. This product, however, couldn't last from manufacturing through shipping.
daughter to put LeCreuset on her bridal registry, she did. Well some thoughtful person thought buying a cheaper version would be acceptable. Guess what.........it's full of pits and breaks in the enamel. She's used it for pasta sauce and chili. She's not even married a year it's garbage, don't fall for the price, there's a reason it's so much cheaper than Le Creuset. Can you say QUALITY, and you get what you pay for!!!

I recieved this as an anniversary present(I like getting things i can use as gifts) although the finish isn't perfect i think the pan is wonderful, i like the way it cooks and looks. sadly my pan got a bubble in the enamel :( I was bummed. the pan has a 20 yr. warranty but did this mean i would have to pay to get this heavy thing shipped back? I called customer service they were very friendly and helpful. They are shipping me a new pan and i don't have to ship the old one back! thank you heuck! I am very pleased!Best Deals for Heuck 33027 Porcelain Enamel Cast Iron 10.5 Inch Chicken Fryer, Red
Product is made of cast iron skillet. When it arrived, the handle of the pan had broken off. It was packaged extremely poorly (from the manufacturer, not the shipping packaging). The cardboard box it was packaged in did not support the weight of the skillet. The skillet itself, was also much lighter than a cast iron skillet of that size should have been, which also makes me wonder about the quality of the product. In short, this should be an extremely sturdy product cast iron lasts a long, long time. This product, however, couldn't last from manufacturing through shipping.

I also bought a 12" cast iron enamel skillet to get away from teflon. I enjoyed the skillet for 2 months before the enamel flaked off! About the size of a quarter. I went against my best judgement and bought this product even though i knew it was made in China. I'm not bashing the Chinese but it seems that the idea of profits out weighs the quality of the product. I don't plan on returning this for an exchange. I put it in the recycling bin where it belongs. I will not purchase anymore of these products or any others manufactured in China.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Heuck 33027 Porcelain Enamel Cast Iron 10.5 Inch Chicken Fryer, Red

This mug is beautiful! The Lenox Holiday series is elegant with it's ivory white background and generous 24k gold banding. The gold is not just on the rim of the mug but on the handle as well. It is not a heavy, clumsy mug but neither is it frail feeling either. Drinking from the mug is an exercise in elegance. In our family we always had Norwegian pastries on Christmas morning and we drank our tea from the lovely mugs. It made Christmas morning even more special.
It made me sad to read the only other review on these wonderful mugs. I would say the mugs were not the problem--I would say there are 3 people who didn't appreciate the beauty they held in their hands.
That said, the product was exactly as described; shipping and packaging were fine. Arrival was quick.

The product is lovely and the quality of the china is very nice the reason for the 3 star ratings on this particular item is the handle it isn't designed well at all. It is designed with no one over 5ft 5in in mind at 5"10" I could barely get my fingers, which are slender, into the correct position. Entertaining a 6ft plus person better have another cup available.Honest reviews on Lenox Holiday Gold Banded Ivory China Mug

I wanted to purchase 4 of these mugs, and was happy to find them on Amazon Prime. I already had 4 and wanted to add 4 more to complete my service for 8. Here is the weird part. I was only allowed to order three of these no explanation why. Thought "well, OK then, I'll order 3 and then put in another order for 1." NOT. I was told by Amazon in no uncertain terms that three was all I was entitled to. I resorted to having a friend order one for me and I repaid her for it. I have never run into something like this with an Amazon purchase. And I never could find out why they did this. Who orders just THREE of any china or glassware pattern? That said, the product was exactly as described; shipping and packaging were fine. Arrival was quick.

Review of Jessie Steele Cherry Cupcake Oven Mitt
I searched for a decent set of pot holders for a while, it seems they don't sell much in stores anymore except those rubbery ones, which in my opinion are very uncomfortable. Other brands were cheaply made.
These work great, they are very comfortable and cute, very well made. I thought they were a little expensive for a pot holder but it was well worth the price. I love them! By the way, I contacted the company to ask what the max. temp they could handle and they said 400 degrees.

This purchase is duplicate of what I said about the previous order for the feather de lis mitt. # ordered but only 2 received. I was credited for the mitt that I did not receive. Quality..not so great. Thin. Inconsiderate for not being factual about being in stock until after I bought it and it was shipped . Had no choice of who got the gift notes. WOULD NOT BUY again from this company and would encourage others to buy elsewhere. This business sucks big time. Poor business ethics.Saturday, November 29, 2014

I bought this item for my father who is like me and loves cast iron cookware. He is basically a gourmet cook and has every gadget in his kitchen, you could think of. But, he doesnt have this! So, I thought great birthday gift for the man who has everything. He loves it! He said it is huge in size and can feed an army, but cooks well and can hold anything you plan on cooking from stews to fish to gumbo, etc. Goes from stovetop to oven, and back again. Cleans up great with some hot water and a stiff brush and a little seasoning to keep it rust free. I bought myself one and can hardly wait until it arrives!

Review of Handy Gourmet JB6502 Red Cool Touch Micro Bowl, Red
I have one of these for my office and literally use it 3 times a week. You are not supposed to microwave your food in the plastic/ tupperware storage things (for health reasons) and I found it wasteful to dump leftovers or soup into a paper bowl to use once and toss. I leave mine and wash mine at the office, so I don't generally use the lid. However, I found out hubby was microwaving his food in the tupperware! A big no no. I bought him this immediately and he loved it. Minor problemhe actually takes his food to work in this (no place to wash dishes at his office) so the lid was a must have. His came with one of the 3 plastic "hooks" broken off. So it's not as secure as it should be. Just a minor quality control issue. No huge issue for uswe just switched and I gave him my lidbut worth mentioning as I try to create honest and accurate reviews.
Overall, I am very pleased with the product. It heats up well and cleans easily. The plastic portion means I can easily and safely handle my dish right out of the microwave. Everyone who heats up leftovers at work and wastes paper goods or heats up the plastic should switch to this product. Well worth it.

This is THE best microwave bowl I have ever come across. The white bowl is glass so there is no worry of heating food in plastic containers. The red bowl does not get hot in the microwave so you are able to remove your food without oven mitts. The lid is made of a very good durable substance that does not wilt from the heat of the microwave like other plastic tops. I place the lid over my bowl when cooking, I don't lock it in place until I'm ready to store it in the refrigerator. It works beautifully. My food is hot in the white bowl and I can easily transfer the bowl from the kitchen to the table because the red bowl is cool. This would make a very excellent gift. I think I'm going to get a couple more just for me...soup in one, veggies in another, something like that. I highly recommend this Gourmet Microwave Cool Touch Bowl.Best Deals for Handy Gourmet JB6502 Red Cool Touch Micro Bowl, Red
I was tired of trying to remove too hot to carry containers from the microwave! This works very well, in fact, I ordered a second one.Honest reviews on Handy Gourmet JB6502 Red Cool Touch Micro Bowl, Red
We haven't used them long but so far work great. The outer bowl gets warm but not hot so easy to handle. I love the handles. The one for the thumb is very helpfull & the smaller one is a big help to remove it from the microwave. The lids work great. We just leave it up side down since we don't need to lock them into place. I bought three & one did come with a lid tab broke but since I don't use it I'll keep it as is. Had the tab not been broke I'd have given it 5 stars. I have used the bowl for ice cream & it helps keep it cold just as it helps keep hot foods warm longer.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Handy Gourmet JB6502 Red Cool Touch Micro Bowl, Red

Buy Le Creuset PG4050-0430 10-Ounce Mortar and Pestle, Cobalt
This is a fine mortar and pestle, with good colouring, even looks good sitting on the counter or a shelf. But, be aware the advertised size is much larger than the reality; the diameter is 4 ½" and it is 2 ½" high, not 5" X 4". It is plenty big enough for the small grinding jobs that I have. The inside of the mortar and the pestle has a rough surface which grinds well and is easy to use. The pestle is easy to grip and comfortable to hold. Also a major requirement is that it is dishwasher safe. It also is freezer to oven and microwave safe. It's a good piece of kitchen equipment.
For herbs and spices, this pair is no doubt excellent so I'd definitely recommend it for those purposes. For pharmacological use (I'm sure there's more of you non-pill-swallowers out there than just me), it's not a good bowl and I've gone back to the use of my other bulkier less attractive pestle/mortar for that.

As a kitchen item, this is a good pestle and mortar. However, I'm one of those wimpy people who can't swallow pills, so when I need to take something I have to crush it. For pill crushing, this pestle/mortar pair doesn't seem to work particularly well. The material of the bowl and the end of the pestle are very grainy. Great if you're not wanting to turn something into powder-such as a spice or herb. But when you ARE wanting to crush something to a fine powder, the substance seems to get stuck around the edges of the pestle. (This happens regardless of the pill type.)For herbs and spices, this pair is no doubt excellent so I'd definitely recommend it for those purposes. For pharmacological use (I'm sure there's more of you non-pill-swallowers out there than just me), it's not a good bowl and I've gone back to the use of my other bulkier less attractive pestle/mortar for that.

I looked at a lot of other chests before deciding on this one and am so glad that I did. I think it's a beautiful chest at a bargain price. A lot of the others I looked at were basically the same exact thing for twice the price.
The finish however is a little different looking than the photo; in the picture it looks very very dark, almost black like a wenge finish, but it's a very dark brown with a very small hint of a cherry-like finish to it. Still very nice looking though.
*Note* Amazon has updated this photo, so it's now an accurate picture of the finish/color of the chest. At the time I purchased and wrote this review, it was a different/inaccurate photo.*

This silverware chest is sturdy, nice, and fits the silverware well. My butter knives were big and bulky but fit fine in the butterknife slots. The finish is just nice too. The drawer slides well. I ordered this chest to store my antique silver flatware in. The picture does not correctly depict the chest I received. The finish on the chest is much lighter than pictured and it is cheap looking. The appliances/hardware on the chest is not what is in the picture either; they are cheap and very rough with corrosion of some sort. The inside of the chest is decent in size and adequate for the most part -but the rest of the issues make it not worth the price. If your wanting something of good quality, this is not it. I will be returning it.Honest reviews on Wallace Dark Walnut Single Drawer Chest, 14.7 Inches

The lining is plush and grandma's silverware fits perfectly. And the cost is very reasonable. I would highly recommend this silverware chest.Friday, October 31, 2014

I have wanted one of these for years but never knew if they performed like folks claimed they did.
Well now I know, they are great, you have to learn how to use them, you can't throw them on the stove turn the heat up high and expect to quick fry a hamburger.
You have to keep the heat down to medium or below and allow the pan to heat up after that it will cook anything you put in it properly and at the correct temperature, the heat is distributed evenly through the whole pan, which is something I have never seen in an aluminum or stainless pan, there are always cooler areas even though the burner covers the whole bottom of the pan.
This pan cooks evenly and steady.
Even though it is ceramic coated I like to apply a little cooking oil to the pan after it gets hot.
I have cooked almost every day for the last forty seven years and I don't use pre-packaged processed food and have owned everything from Emerils cookware to all-clad, The best I have found in stainless is the Healthy Gourmet, that stuff is surgical stainless and is tough.
I can't wait to save up and get the Le Creuset dutch oven.

After reading about the possible health risks associated with Teflon, we carefully went shopping for stainless steel. While I agree that a lid would have been lovely, I must say this is a great pan even heat disbursement with a good sturdy feel to it. We have used it for everything grilled sandwiches, breakfast meats, searing, sauteing and just last night made a huge batch of homemade chili. Clean up is a snap! We love this pan! Just purchased one for my daughter.
Right out of the box this has the heft and looks of All Clad it is a beautiful pan. Howevever, as I do with all the cookware I purchase I put it on a level surface and see if it wobbles. Unfortunately this one does to a small degree. This means that unless you are cooking on a gas stove you will get uneven heat.
The way Amazon is bouncing around it's pricing I got this one a few days ago at a real good price with Amazon prime. I will keep this pan for that reason and to remind me you get what you pay for.
Before all the reviewers who believe there should never be a negative review written about a product they adore please remember this may not be an issue to you but it could be a big issue to someone else.
If the price of this cookware brings the masses back to stainless steel cooking I am all for it. Getting away from teflon is the best step you can make in not only improving your health but also your cooking skills.
Update: I really like the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro 10 inch skillet. I cook eggs and make omelets in it with absolutely no sticking. I wipe out the pan with a paper towel and it sparkles like new! The Cuisinart pan has a turned edge, so pouring contents can be done with no dripping. The All Clad pan does not have that feature, and the price of All Clad 12-inch skillets is prohibitive, so I am going to try another one of the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro 12-inch skillets. Maybe the faulty one I got was a fluke. I'll update again if there is more to add.
***Update #2I now have-and have usedmy Cuisinart MultiClad Pro 12 inch skillet, and have updated the review to 5 stars. I've attached a short video of the first effort at frying eggs in it. After frying the eggs, I let the pan cool and wiped it out with a paper towel. Again, NO WASHING NECESSARY! Fabulous. (I do think my first experience with the skillet I returned WAS a fluke. Thank goodness for the Amazon.com return policy!!) I do hold to the statement that All Clad is superior, but I can't afford it. Wish I could!)
****Update #3 I've never misused the 12" skillet by "shocking" it with cold water when it is hot, but it is now warped so that it does not sit flat on my glass cooktop. It's junk now.
All three pans are truly beautiful, and I've not had a problem with sticking other than the above mentioned, of course. Here is the trick to keep in mind, for those who are newbies to cooking on other than non-stick surfaces: "Hot pan, cold oil." The pan should be heated on medium until water drops skitter around on the surface, then oil can be added. It does not take much oil!!! Add the food to be cooked when the oil is heated. If the oil spatters while you are cooking, the pan is too hot. I never use heat higher than 6 on my stove dial, which would be medium high. That would be searing heat.
In addition, there are websites online which tell how to season a stainless pan to make it non-stick. It really works!!

I bought this skillet to sear salmon, before puttting it into a 425-degree oven. I am not sure if it is a good thing to put non-stick into a hot oven, so I bought this pan. It worked like a charm. It sears perfectly, and after the oven for 7 minutes, it was a mess. but it cleaned up shiny as new following the directions to fill with water, and clean with Bon Ami or a similar product. It was a brown mess but now looks like new. The important thing is to read the instructions that come with the pan. I think I'll order the other sizes since this one worked so well. I think it works as well as the All Clad pans I have but at a fraction of the price.Best Deals for Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Stainless Open Skillet
Cooks wonderfully! Foods brown uniformly (instead of brown towards the center and 'raw' nearer the edge). And the bottom is truly FLAT, which means liquids do not pool. Consequently, foods cook uniformly and require less re-arranging. Finally we love the handles. The long one stays cool and the short one opposite makes it easy to pour out liquids. Wonderful product!Honest reviews on Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Stainless Open Skillet

I got three stainless steel pans at the same time both the 10-inch and the 12-inch Cuisinart and an All-Clad casserole with lid. The 10-inch Cuisinart seems to be okay, but the 12-inch pan developed a hot-spot in the center, which burned the food and discolored the pan the first time I used it. The discoloration is in the form of bluish spots that are visible on the outside center of the pan, and which I believe indicate a flaw in either the aluminum core, or in the bonding process. ... I know how to cook with stainless pots, so did not use excessive heat. I returned the 12-inch pan, and am using the 10-inch one to give it a good test before I'll keep it. I've also been using the All-Clad pan, and do believe there is a quality difference between the two brands, with All-Clad being superior. I also like the fact that the All-Clad is made in the USA. I've purchased a 12-inch skillet of that brand to replace the one I returned. (A big thumbs up for the Amazon.com return policy. Since the pan was flawed, they even paid the return postage!)Update: I really like the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro 10 inch skillet.

Tyler Florence Steel Clad Fry Pans Review
This pan is wide, heats quickly I love the handle, sears beautifully. I'm so glad I bought it! I retired an old Calphalon 12" skillet and I have to admit that this is superior!bought one on clearance never heard of this brand but saw a video of tylers and it seems to be very good handle is long & raised higher/ cast stainless easy to clean less sticking than most s/s cookware lightweight could have been a more heavy guage metal but a really nice 10" fry pan iwould recomend this cookware i paid about 36.00 on clearance.

Given all the concerns about e-coli and mad cow, we decided last year to start grinding our own beef and lamb. This grinder does the job perfectly. We grind right into the short round Ziplock boxes (about a hamburger's worth), which go into the basement freezer, and then we turn out the frozen "hockey pucks" onto a plate to defrost in the microwave, or right into the pot for bolognese sauce or sloppy joes. ("Honey, would you bring me up a couple of hockey pucks for dinner?)
Assembly is easy and cleanup is easy (put a slice of bread through after the meat to make it even easier, or grind up an onion if you're making meatloaf anyway). The knife and both plates store inside the screw cap, so I don't worry about losing them (though KitchenAid sells replacements, as does goodmans-dot-net). The grinder even comes with a handy wrench-thingy to help take it apart if it tightens up.
The knife and plates are not stainless (which wouldn't hold an edge), so you do have to dry them off right after washing, but I put everything, including the wooden stomper, right in the dishwasher, and after more than a year nothing has had a problem.
this isn't an industrial tool! You can't set the mixer speed above three or four when grinding (less if the meat is gristly), and you've got to cut up the meat small enough to fit in the feed tube (the instructions say one-inch cubes, but long strips work too). Treat this right and it will return the favor.
About the only thing that would make this more perfect is a cylindrical brush to clean out the horizontal and vertical shafts, since the dishwasher spray can't really completely reach both, and the horizontal shaft has a screw thread that tends to catch crud (Right now I'm using a folded sponge, and the abovementioned bread slice).
The blade is junk. It doesn't cut the meat at all, and is more prone than ever to getting silver skin and grizzle wrapped around it, forcing you to stop and clean it regularly throughout the proccess. More so than most other grinders.
Stomper: They call this a stomper? Are you serious??? I have the new model that does not come with a wooden stomper, but instead has a plastic contraption that acts both as a wrench and a stomper. It's not solid in design, and is quite smaller than the hole so it tends to pull more meat up when you pull it out than it pushes down to begin with.
Since there is no gasket that comes with this and everything is plastic, the seals aren't real tight, and meat tends to squirt out around the plate quite often. This isn't a real big deal unless you're looking for a specific texture, as for sausage.
Horrible grind. Based on all the other faults with this machine, you'll never reach that beautiful solid grind that you see with commercially ground meat. It's more of a squishy mess, even with the large dye plate.
Good luck stuffing sausage. I spent thirty minutes fighting this machine to get ground meat into the casing with very little luck. I managed one link in that amount of time, gave up, and immediately ordered a Grizzly sausage stuffer (which is absolutely amazing, but that's another review).
I am very happy with the ease of clean up. One of those bristle wands that you use for scrubbing cups works great for getting in the grooves of the attachment as well as in the holes of the grinder plate. Just don't forget to hand dry the metal parts immediately or you'll have rust everywhere. I store all my parts in a zip lock back with some rice to keep them together and dry.
So if you just need something small to make a quick batch of burgers or meatloaf with very little effort, this is a great deal. But if you are trying to make large amounts of sausage of the same quality that you would find in a meat market, you may want to keep looking.
I am absoultely stunned at how easy it is to put together and how simple it is to get wonderfully ground items out of it. I've had no trouble grinding any cut of meat (marbled or lean), type of meat (venison, beef, pork, chicken), or state of meat (cooked or raw). Things like chickpeas also get ground just the way I like them. The two, differently sized grinding plates give you just what you need in texture. My biggest pleasure in using this attachment is during hunting season when my husband brings home more than one deer. Venison burger meat and sausage processing never went faster. No more late nights with a hand-crank grinder!
When you're done, there's nothing simpler in the cleanup. Nothing seems to stick to the plastic (plus, it's dishwasher safe!) and the metal pieces wash up quickly by hand. Even the little wooden stomper cleans well (and I've felt lost without it when I couldn't find it during sausage making). I think this attachment is the easiest to use of all of the ones I've tried.
I'll never regret the purchase of this attachment.
I love my grinder and have not any problems with it. After I slice the meat into strips, I partially freeze the meat before grinding it. When I have finished grinding, I take a piece of bread and grind it to push the rest of the meat through the grinder. I then take the grinder apart and rinse it out and soak it for about 5 minutes in a dishpan of hot soapy water with about a tablespoon of bleach. Wash and rinse the grinder thoroughly and lay on a terry towel to dry. I hope this helps anyone having trouble cleaning the grinder.

Their are those who find that the best way to buy chicken is whole, that way you can inspect the whole bird. By buying parts, they are able to cut out the unsightlies, and sell the parts. With preground meat that is even more of a concern. With the Food Grinder attachment, you have the option of handling that item whichever way you may choose.
Clean up is a snap. It almost falls apart, disassembly is that easy. Cleans up easily with some soap and warm water, or by putting it into the dishwasher. The cutting blades are handwashed. They appear to be high strength steel, and I am concerned about them getting lost in the wash, and degrading the finish. They clean up in only a minute. The rest of it goes into the dishwasher.
Even though the FGA is made out of plastic on the outside, the internal components are metal. It is very durable, and works without a snag. No jams, no problems. It attaches easily to the front of your Kitchen Aid stand mixer, and sits very securely. I expect it will last for a very long period of time.

I work in the food industry, so I'm unfortunately comparing this to its commercial counterparts. If you have small batches of meat to be ground at a time, this grinder is so much better than the crank grinders and gets the job done in a quarter of the time. I still use it, but here's what I don't like about it:The blade is junk. It doesn't cut the meat at all, and is more prone than ever to getting silver skin and grizzle wrapped around it, forcing you to stop and clean it regularly throughout the proccess. I've used this attachment more times than I ever thought I would. I've used it to prepare food items for my family as well as food items for crowds as large as 200 and regardless of what it is I've been making, this attachment has rolled through it without complaint. In combination with other pieces such as the sausage stuffer or the fruit attachments, you may well find that this single attachment stays on your machine the longest.I am absoultely stunned at how easy it is to put together and how simple it is to get wonderfully ground items out of it. I bought this attachment at the same time I bought two or three other attachments, and this is the one I use all of the time. I found that grinding meats to be very useful. I have a mother who is 88 and she prefers everything tender and juicy. So unless it is cooked until it is super tender, she doesn't eat it. With the Kitchen Aid FGA that is all solved. For example I buy chicken in large quantities when it is on sale, and grind it up. Adding shredded rye bread, some Italian seasoned bread crumbs , rosemary, and oregano in the mix, and I make a hamburger(chicken)-meat loaf, or meat balls that are tender. Without the food grinder, I would have to buy preground meat.Their are those who find that the best way to buy chicken is whole, that way you can inspect the whole bird.
