I read the first review and thought the complaint was with the shipping. So I purchased the Heuck to get away frome teflon. It arrived in 3 boxes within one The original manufacture box, inside another box then a box for that one. Ours arrived in great condition. BTW the red colour is a pleasent red not and orange red. I tested it for lead content with a home kit and it passed with flying colours. This has become our favorite pan, we are glad we ordered the one with the lid.

I recieved this as an anniversary present(I like getting things i can use as gifts) although the finish isn't perfect i think the pan is wonderful, i like the way it cooks and looks. sadly my pan got a bubble in the enamel :( I was bummed. the pan has a 20 yr. warranty but did this mean i would have to pay to get this heavy thing shipped back? I called customer service they were very friendly and helpful. They are shipping me a new pan and i don't have to ship the old one back! thank you heuck! I am very pleased!

Product is made of cast iron skillet. When it arrived, the handle of the pan had broken off. It was packaged extremely poorly (from the manufacturer, not the shipping packaging). The cardboard box it was packaged in did not support the weight of the skillet. The skillet itself, was also much lighter than a cast iron skillet of that size should have been, which also makes me wonder about the quality of the product.

In short, this should be an extremely sturdy product cast iron lasts a long, long time. This product, however, couldn't last from manufacturing through shipping.

Honest reviews on Heuck 33027 Porcelain Enamel Cast Iron 10.5 Inch Chicken Fryer, Red

I also bought a 12" cast iron enamel skillet to get away from teflon. I enjoyed the skillet for 2 months before the enamel flaked off! About the size of a quarter. I went against my best judgement and bought this product even though i knew it was made in China. I'm not bashing the Chinese but it seems that the idea of profits out weighs the quality of the product. I don't plan on returning this for an exchange. I put it in the recycling bin where it belongs. I will not purchase anymore of these products or any others manufactured in China.

Yes, it looks like it, yes it's cast iron, But no it's not Le Creuset. I wanted my

daughter to put LeCreuset on her bridal registry, she did. Well some thoughtful person thought buying a cheaper version would be acceptable. Guess what.........it's full of pits and breaks in the enamel. She's used it for pasta sauce and chili. She's not even married a year it's garbage, don't fall for the price, there's a reason it's so much cheaper than Le Creuset. Can you say QUALITY, and you get what you pay for!!!

Other than being really low quality which is really to be expected in this price, I received the first set, where 2 of the lids just do not fit the pots, one of them (lid or pot) is not exactly round, you cannot close the lid. Amazon sent out a replacement, exactly the same issue in the 2 large pots. The small ones are fine, sort of, just cheap and not exactly tight fitted with the lids.

I needed a set of large casseroles, usually the sets come with at least 3 sizes and pans I do not need. I needed a large dutch over/casserole and purchased this because it was cheap but also because of the sizes. However I am really disappointed since this is the 2nd set that came and it's like they are all like that.

I am waiting to see what the 3rd one will be like... what a hassle.

The first set I recieved had broken handles and then they sent me a second set and the handle was chipped and the set had a missing part. Its really inconviennt to have someone fix the problem but yet still make a mistake. This was supposed to be a nice gift and ended up not to be.

Got my pans in 3 days, opened it and feel in love with it, its smooth and thick like a good pan should be! I haven't used it yet but I can tell it will work great and its not like the other black non-stick pans you get at stores that scratch easily, the coating is a mix of silver and black in the pan it feels smooth and sturdy. I feel these pans will last you a long time as long as you take care of it , use silicone spatulas only (Dollar Tree ones works great!)

The item arrived with one of the outer tines off and loose in the shipping box. The clear moulded plastic over the lifters was stapled on the cardboard backing in a way that made it look as if this product had been opened and stapled closed. Will not order this again as the remaining tines don't appear to be fused together in a manner that will be durable.

I have Atlas owned mills, both professionally and personally for some years. I have tried others but none of them are on the same level as the Atlas. It never breaks and is infinitely adjustable. They are worth every penny you pay for them.

Beautiful little pepper grinder. Never going to break an expensive plastic one again. Metal the material of your grandparents! Great as is, but for a courser grind it's pretty easy to modify to your liking.

"Modify a $50 pepper mill" you say? Sure, why not, it's metal. Here's how:

Get a punch (like a screwdriver or nail set) hammer, pliers, vice grips or best of all a bench vise, and a file.

Unscrew the two philips screws on the side of the mill's body. Drop out the grinding mechanism and the shaft (undo the bolt and remove the handle first).

Undo the adjusting screw at the bottom (don't lsoe the spring!) and use the screwdriver/punch and hammer to knock free the adjusting screw's cross bar. I did this on a work glove so as not to mar the grinder or my work bench and so it wouldn't slip away so easily.

Once this is knocked free clamp that cross bar in a vise or pliers or whatever and file a section of that cross bar down a millimeter or two. You want to file the wider part of the bar, the side that faces up to the sky when you put it back together. Make sure you don't file the ends that seat the bar in the mechanism, you only want to file an area slightly larger than the diameter of the grinding burr (about 20 or 21 milimeters, or ~10mm from the center of the adjusting screw's hole).

Once this is done, but it back together! The cross bar may fit loose when you tap it back in, but it's got nowhere to go once you put the mechanism back in the grinder body. If the very minor rattling bothers you, just put a dab of glue on it to keep it in place. The top cap rattle more anyway

Now that adjusting screw will actually have a purpose!

This process gives a coarser grind, and also lowers the handle towards the top cap so the top cap won't bounce around quite so much as another reviewer mentioned.

If you're a really ballsy pepper grinder modifying gal/guy you can even eliminate the gap between the handle and the top cap by unscrewing the grinding shaft (adjustable wrench on the handle flats) from the burr (wrap the burr with that leather glove and grip it with vice grips/vice/big pliers) and filing down the bottom of the shaft a couple of millimeters. If you go too far the handle will bottom out on the top cap and you'll be stuck with fine grind instead of the courser grind you've already worked so hard for. If this happens, just unscrew the shaft again and stick a pepper corn, or half a pepper corn, or a tiny rock or something small and hard in the bottom and tighten it back up again.

Voila! The perfect pepper mill! "Too much work," you say? Yeah, probably, but what else are you gonna do at your grandparents' house for a week with all those tools lying around? Either way, how can you go wrong with a pepper grinder that you can modify to your own tolerances. It's that solid.

high price but worth the money, i own 15 sets of salt and pepper mills from many different manufactures but the atlas pepper mill is the best, you can taste and smell the difference the way this mill cuts the peppercorns , the only complaint i have is that the lid does have some play in it but it doesnt affect the operation of the mill .

I've dealt with Areaware before, and have never been disappointed. I purchased it directly from their site, though. I will never have dealings with Wayfair again. Highly unscrupulous. I got two of these gadgets as a "free" gift with something else I bought. I was optimistic about it actually. It would be nice to be able to free up my hands in the kitchen sometimes.

But it doesn't work like that. They buzz and hop around, and fortunately, I tested it in cool water away from the cooktop first. Because it would have splashed hot liquid all over the place, and then it fell over, into the "food" (which the instructions say, you should then throw the food away, due to concerns of contamination from the batteries, lead solder or whatever electronic waste is all up in there.

Nice idea, but it doesn't work, and could pose a real hazard if it were being used to stir anything flammable, like oil for example.

Purchased the deluxe upgraded Robo Stir in January didn't receive it until March. Product worked as advertised with no complaints. Used it once and it never worked again. Called Robo Stir Customer Service which is not in the US had a agent I could hardly understand and was told to bad it is over 30 days old. I would advise to use caution when purchasing product. The company does not stand behind the quality.

Best Deals for Telebrands Robo Stir Automatic Pot Stirer

I am a gadget guru and when I saw the Robo Stir I couldn't wait to get one. BAD MISTAKE! First, I ordered from Robo Stir and ended up paying $72 for 4 of these things. They trick you when you order online with them. I ordered 2 then they ask if you want to "upgrade" to the 3 speed Robo and when you say "yes" you have then ordered 4 of these "things". Upon checking out, they do NOT let you review your order, then all of a sudden WHAM your order goes through and you have 4 of them ordered at the unheard price of $72.00!

I don't even give these things "1" star but there is no way to rate it a "0" star. They are cheaply made and do not work! I've been cooking for 47 years so don't tell me I don't know how to work it. I have almost every kitchen gadget imagineable. I would have gotten better use of my $72.00 if I had rolled it up and used the money as a match to light my grill.

Honest reviews on Telebrands Robo Stir Automatic Pot Stirer

Not worth the money. We purchased it to stir so that the sauces wouldn't burn while we cut vegetables. It only stirs water or liquids similar to it's density. Read the reviews, but had to see for ourselves.

I've used this open fire grill for several years and I am still very pleased. Price is great, easy to use, ample grilling surface, light weight and easy to store when folded flat. I do place foil over the top when grilling (my preference) but it is also sturdy enough for pots and pans. Well worth the money...what a bargin. Very helpful while camping or just grilling over the firepit out back. I will be buying another one in case something happens to the one I purchased several years ago. I bought this for center pieces for my daughter's birthday party and I added in movie snack/ treats. The bowls are absolutely adorable. Only thing I wish is that it was a little bit bigger but it is an individual size so I did expect it to be small to medium in size. The bowls are nice and durable. A nice hefty weight to it, not cheaply made. Plus, it was delivered less then a week to my home, which is a good thing because I live in Hawaii. I had a Townecraft home demonstation and thought it was wonderful. The salesman was great and really made me excited. Then came the price. I've bought cars for less than that! I started looking around for that same brand on auction sites and found it 1/2 the price, but still very expensive. I went to the waterless cookware site and decided to give Maxam 9 a shot. It took 2 months to get, but the pans are good heavy quality, very easy to clean, and keep the food moist. Waterless cooking, however, takes patience to get right and you are likely to burn some meals if you stick to the time guidelines in the book. I've had them for about two monts now and finally got rid of all of the old teflon and rusty pans...they aren't coming back. I've cooked with the Townecraft pans before and you aren't going to see enough of a difference to warrant 6-8 times the price. Maxam 9 (World's Finest) is almost as good and won't kill your budget. As Zig Ziglar says "It's easier to justify cost once, than apologize for quality forever" The price is more than what you are going to pay in WalMart, but the cost over a lifetime will be much, much lower because you won't buy pans again.

What is 304 surgical stainless steel? The 304 surgical stainless steel contains about 18% chromium and a higher percentage of nickel than "ordinary" stainless steel. The popularity of 304 surgical stainless steel is due to its gleaming appearance which lasts for the life of a product. Its excellent corrosion resistance is due to an invisible, passive oxide film that forms on the metal's surface in air. Sometimes 304 surgical stainless is referred to as T304.

8 advantages of 304 surgical stainless steel

1. corrosion resistance

2 economy

3 temperature resistance

4 beauty

5 durability

6 design flexibility

7 easy to clean

8 flavor protection

The 9 element steam control system makes cooking as easy as. . .

1 start cooking on medium heat

2 listen for the whistle

3 close the valve, turn heat to low and simmer to finish cooking

YOU CAN STACK THEM

A picture I uploaded above illustrates how you might cook a roast or chicken with potatoes & carrots in the bottom, a vegetable in the middle pan and another vegetable in the top pan. When stack cooking, remember to always start cooking each individual pan on a burner until you hear the steam valve whistle, then close the valve and stack to finish cooking. Heat is transferred from the bottom pan to the top.

9 ELEMENT CONSTRUCTION 304 stainless steel inside and out surgical stainless encapsulates a thick aluminum disk. This capsule bottom has 9 elements.

1 chrome

2 nickel

3 manganese

4 silicon

5 aluminum

6 iron

7 copper

8 molybedenum

9 vanadium

Please see additional photos of box with additional information I uploaded above.

All pans (not lids) are oven safe to 350°F.

I found the pans easier to clean than my 18/10 stainless steel cookware and almost as easy to clean as my 316Titanium Saladmaster. I wonder if those having difficulties followed the written instructions for how to care and clean your cookware: "In case particles of food become burned in your pan, fill the pan with hot water in a hot pan, cold water in a cold pan, and let soak. The scorched particles should easily lift off. If a stubborn burn has been created, partly fill the pan with water and bring to a boil. use a wooden spoon to remove such burned particles. If a stain still remains, it can easily be removed with a good stainless steel cleaner." I haven't had much burn in my pan because i am not frying in them or using over high heat, I am following the directions for low-pressure waterless oil-less cooking.

Best Deals for Maxam KT17 17-Piece 9-Element Surgical-Stainless-Steel Waterless

This cookware is a delight to use. Roasts are very tender. Vegetable cook with almost no water. Oatmean and Puddings cook without sticking.

Honest reviews on Maxam KT17 17-Piece 9-Element Surgical-Stainless-Steel Waterless

I fell in "want" with the nifty "waterless" cookware at the state fair, and drooled for years at the demos, but just couldn't justify the $2000-$3000 price tag. I knew I really wanted stainless steel pans, something heavy-duty, and that waterless cooking would be a plus. After LOTS of research, and many e-mails and calls to various manufacturers, distributors, etc. I decided to try this set I couldn't even find a decent set of regular stainless cookware for this price, much less waterless. Worst case scenario would be that I would have a decent heavy set of stainless steel pots and the waterless part might be a bust.

But it wasn't. Right off the bat, I was amazed at how colorful and flavorful my vegetables were, in less time and very little water (waterless cooking should actually be called less-water cooking in most cases). The carrots were awesome! I can cook meats and vegetables in the same pot, sort of in layers, in less time than conventional cooking the steam control valve provides a sort of low-pressure pressure-cooker effect, cooking the foods in less or no liquid in less time. Meats sear to the bottom, then release as they cook, in no liquid and clean up is easy. Even foods that seem to be "stuck," like the little browned parts of fried potatoes, soak off in minutes and clean easily. Anything that doesn't remove completely in water comes off readily with a Brillo-type pad (hooray for stainless steel!).

Something else I appreciated was that the sizes were ALL good sizes for our growing/larger family of ten. So many sets include little pans as standard, then charge a fortune for add-ons like 3-qt saucepans, etc. This set gave me four saucepans, a pretty big frying pan (just under 12 inch), plus the biggest Dutch oven I'd ever seen, at over 7 quarts! And the smallest saucepan is almost 2 quarts, so it's actually useful. The egg poaching insert with easy-clean cups is a bonus; great for quick breakfasts!

I have had my pots and pans for over ten years and they get HEAVY use. They still look great and work wonderfully. These are the pots and pans my daughters want for their kitchens. We liked the set so well that we wanted to make

this cookware available to our friends for their kitchens.

Combine this heavy duty stainless steel set with a few Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers for a well-outfitted kitchen!

By the way, this same manufacturer has another line besides Steam Control, but the distributors I "interrogated" said the others aren't quite the top of the line that these are. These should be the last pots you'll ever need!

To use the steam control valve, start cooking on medium to med-high heat (don't use high heat unless boiling something, like pasta water). Then when the valve begins to whistle (like a teakettle), close the valve and turn the heat down to low and finish cooking. The 9-element construction allows you to stack cook with this cookware (although I have not personally tried this): Begin cooking on individual burners and when the valve whistles you can invert the lids to stack the pans to finish cooking. The handles are resistant to heat, cold, and detergents.

I've been amazed at how easy-release they are even though they aren't "non stick," and they clean up very easily. And if you think you can't cook eggs in SS, think again. I have photos of eggs cooked with a thin lecithin/oil film (like Pam) and I don't even have to touch the pan with a spatula to slide the eggs out. Just don't cook above medium heat.(The one thing you need to remember is that they arrive with a thin coat of factory oil over them, so you should wash them really well before first use or they could slightly discolor from cooking the oil all over the outside.)

I also use my Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers DAILY, by the way. The KR cookers and my SS cookware are a great combination.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Maxam KT17 17-Piece 9-Element Surgical-Stainless-Steel Waterless

Overall these pots work as they should. They take some getting used re: how long to cook and overall I was surprised at how quickly they cook vegetables. I found that if I waited for the valve to "whistle" then the veggies would burn and overcook, so instead as soon as I see steam coming out of the valve I close it and turn down to simmer. That works well. Biggest problem is the round metal whistle piece that fits into the pot handle falling out into the food during cooking. This happens constantly and I've given up pressing them back in and just leave them out now.

I saw this product in a review in either popular mechanics or popular science magazine. I have purchased numerous products based on both magazine reviews and have never been disappointed. I tried it out first on a one inch thick round steak running the microplane in a rolling motion veretically, horizontally and at an angle on both sides. Grilled the steak to medium rare. I could not believe how tender the steak turned out. As for cleaning simple, use dish detergen and a soft bristle tooth brush. Thanks amazon. A great product at a great price.

While I did not have a genuine Jaccard multi-bladed meat tenderizer, I did have a high quality version from the local wholesale market. It basically beat itself into a not very workable fashion in a time frame I thought not acceptable. When mentioned my problem to a friend, he showed me his similar model that the top section had been epoxied together, his second rendition.

When I saw the Microplane model I first thought, "No moving parts, especially parts that work in significant tension." I have a Microplane grater that I use for grating nutmeg and similar uses, and this wheelie thing sort of looked really cool. After using it on a tough beef steak, pork steak, chicken thighs, I must say I'm impressed. The reality is this is just a mini-handheld version of the way meat is cubed in your market. There is somewhat of a learning curve on rocking the device over the meat, rather than just pounding it into pieces and the blades are maybe 3/8 inches tall, so the blades really don't go all the way through the meat, but because it does cut the connecting tissue so well, it really does make the meat very tender and enlarges the result so a "chicken fired steak" tends to stay spread out, rather than shrink to the original shape, which seemed to be the case with the Jaccard type machines.

The only complaint that I can see is some people make have, is a concern with cleanliness. I do not believe that knives should go through a dishwasher, and this tenderizer is a series of very sharp knives. It does clean easily with a stiff brush under hot tap water, which I would believe is the preferred method of obtaining and maintaining sanitary usage. Furthermore it is way easier to clean than the Jaccard type tenderizers.

I plan to buy another one for my cabin in the woods. For hunters and those who are into grass fed beef and similar food sources, I highly recommend you give this a try, and forget the Jaccard devices, or as a replacement, when those self destruct.

My wife says she loves it but you have to be very very careful because the little blades are really sharp and it is easy to stick yourself. But WOW, does it do a great job.

Love this pan, very versatile ... have to clean with stainless steel cleaner to get it spotless, but it is worth the extra effort. No more non-stick pans for me.

its a great pot/pan but a bit too heavy to lift if you like to toss, shake and flip the contents while stir frying food (think how they stir fry in chinese restaurants)

the 10 inch version is light enough that lifting it is not quite as burdensome.
